AP Tourism Minister unveils three restaurants at Tirumala

Andra Pradesh State Tourism Minister RK Roja inaugurated three Andhra Pradesh tourism restaurants at various locations within the world-renowned Tirumala hill town. The three tourism hotels, situated at Annamayya Bhavan, Balaji and Narayan Giri guest houses, will offer vegetarian Indian cuisines at affordable rates to the devotees visiting Tirumala. Additionally, coffee and juice bars, along with artifact stores, have been set up at these restaurants for the convenience of devotees. The restaurant themes are also aligned with spiritual motifs, aiming to preserve the tranquil and sacred atmosphere of the Tirumala shrine. Roja said, “With nearly lakh devotees visiting Tirumala everyday and with the pilgrim rush going up during festivals and holidays, there was always a demand for establishing top quality restaurants. While only roadside eateries existed a here, TTD and AP Tourism Ministry have partnered to established multiple top quality restaurants on the hill town to cater to the multi faceted food needs of the devotees visiting the hill town.” Speaking to the media, Roja said the three restaurants inaugurated at Tirumala boasted of 5 star hotel ambience,but are definitely pocket friendly for the devotees as food will be served here at nominal prices prescribed by the tirumala Tirupati devasthanam. Roja expressed gratitude to CM Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and the TTD top officials for promptly granting all necessary approvals for the State Tourism Department to simultaneously launch three restaurants at Tirumala. With this addition, the total number of restaurants operated by the AP Tourism Department at Tirumala has now increased to four.

If my only focus was Lords darshan, it was a matter of just one day for me from Chennai. But I decided to explore Tirupati city in detail which i did and enjoyed with family for one full day apart from Lord's Darshana. Good shopping area both at Tirumala hills and Tirupati.

Visited the holy temple after a break of almost 15 years and i can definitely say this is a must visit temple. TTD is doing a great job in managing the temple and the crowds. Although one does not get to see the lord for more than 2-3 seconds it is still good considering the volume of crowd coming into the temple!

plz go to the temple with whole hearted belief on sri venkateswara swamy. its not a picnic place for drinkers. its a holly shrine. we get peace mind and soul here. we can enjoy the nature. every inch on the hill belongs to the lord. never try to spoil the holiness

It's very famous temple worldwide and as a temple I will not review it. I'll focus on the arrangement at this temple. Was not aware of the ticket to chose for darshan so took the minimum what our tour guide told us. But later understood that at higher price you can skip maximum queue, I said max as believe me everyday they have lakhs of devotees and you have to be in queue. With that minimum ticket I had to stay in queue for 5 hrs and at end when I was near the idol we were just pushed and dragged from the place by so called volunteers that I hardly saw idol for 1 second. I wonder was it worth to be standing and suffocating for five long hours to get that treatment? Don't know real issue management is facing but feel need some changes

APSRTC will be doing two types of local sightseeing packages in Tirumala and Tirupati and surrounding places with the transport of APSRTC buses. 1) Local Temples Tour 2) Surrounding Temples Tour

1) Local Temples Tour

In this package all the local temples which are important is covered. The frequency of tours is every 1 hour from Srinivasam Complex opposite to APSRTC Central Bus Station, Tirupati and starts from morning 6 AM to 1 PM. And every 2 hours from 06:00 AM to 12:00 AM. from Vishnu Nivasam Complex, Opposite Railway Station, Tirupati.

The temples which the local tour covers are: Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple, Tiruchanoor Sri Kalyana Venkateswaa Swamyvari Temple, Srinivasa Mangapuram Sri Agastheeswara Swamyvari Temple, Thondawada Sri Kapileswraswamyvari Temple, Kapilatheertham, Tirupati Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, Tirupati Sri Govindaraja Swamyvari Temple, Tirupati.

basic information for tirupati darshan and APTDC bus package

Last month I visit Tirupati balaji to seek blessing. I am from Kolkata and gone there from Chennai. After research in tripadvisor I book Andhra Pradesh tourism department. I am writing this review in bit descriptive manner to help visitor like mine who is new in Chennai and not local. 15-20 days earlier I booked through Andhra Pradesh Tourism department online site. I booked evening Chennai to Tirupati slot. Cost was 1650 for single occupancy. Another option is early morning slot. Place of pickup was T Nagar @ 7 Pm . I was unaware of Chennai traffic and from Karappakkam to T-nagar it took around 1.45 hours. I misses my bus at T nagar and caught same from Trade Centre. I took a auto and same took shortcut . Don’t judge travel time by kilometer in Chennai Specially on Saturday or Sunday. Please start at least 3 hours earlier of scheduled time. My bus reached trade center around 9 due to traffic. After 1 hour of driving we stopped at restaurant for dinner. Restaurant name Sri Sai Vinayaga . After having dinner we started after 30 min. We reach Tirumala around 1.15 . It was AP Tourism central reservation office cum hotel. Rooms were ok and does not feed need of Ac. Unfortunately towel and toilet soaps was not there. Drinking water was also not available. If you don`t have water bottle you have to go to central lawn for water. Better to carry mineral water in advance. Bus and guide changes here. Room boy will ask for tips without providing any service. You have to ready by 3.30 am. At 3.30 we checked out and assemble in front of bus standing in front of hotel. Please note there will be buses from other cities like Bangalore etc. Please ask bus /tour conductor for right bus. After approx. 15 min drive we reach Padmavati Temple. Temple counter opens at 4.45 and we reaches before time and have to wait around 30-40 min in queue for tickets. Ticket was around Rs 30. We had early morning darshan and we assemble in front of bus after darshan. After 30 min drive we reach a restaurant called Bhanoos. There is buffet arrangement for breakfast along with tea and coffee. This place is opposite one bus stand. Washroom is available for freshen up. Bus changes here and we start traveling in astc non ac typical looking state bus. After 1 hour uphill drive we reached in front of Balaji temple. The devotees wanted to have mundan got down and other assemble in front of shop suggested by guide. Mobile , wallet and other valuable You have to submit . Charges @Rs10 per item. Dhoti is suggested but not mandatory but guide will insist you. Better you can carry. I purchased a dhot @rs 100. Wash room and saloon is available . Juice shop and newspaper shop also available. Washroom available but does not look hygenice. Better to use toilet inside temple premises. Guide meet us after 30-40 min and we enter temple around 9 am. Rs 300 vip ticket was included in our packages and he purchases same on behalf of us. Rs 500 ticket option was there. General entry will take atleast 8-9 hours on without festive eve. You will get 2 ladoos against every ticket. If you want extra ladoos ask your guide as they can arrange. Guide will give ladoo directly. I try to purchase directly from counter but not able to get same due to high demand. Later guide arrange 4 ladoos @ Rs 250. Once we enter you have to follow the queue and some numbers block was there. Around 1 hour we enter main temple campus. Please note there is no toilet in main campus if you want you can use within first 1-2 hour of waiting. Once you enter main campus general queue will be merged along with vip line. Last 15-20 min was very crowdie and all devotees started pushing each other. I suggest trustee to keep one line for women,old age people . I had a great darshan and definitely try to seek blessing again. After darshan complimentary you will get complimentary Prasad. Total process took around 3-3.5 hours. We came down and changes our bus. After 30 min drive we reaches to Andhrapradesh tourism restaurant for lunch. We had thali and it is complicmentary. After 2 hours of drive we reaches to same restaurant where we had dinner last night . After 15 min break enter Chennai around 5.30 pm. I got down near Gunidy railway station. From Guindy railway station I took local Train and reach Tirisulama railway station which is just opposite airport. As per guide I save atleast 60-90 min time. I would suggest to books Andhra paradesh tourism tour if you are visiting first time and not known local language.

Holy Place. all time rush is there and long que for Darshan. Facility available for seperate que with Rs 300 Charge but minimum 3 hours will take to have Darshan of lord Balaji.

Divine is the word for Tirupati. You get a great feeling after visiting this place. Very nicely maintained by TTD, even the ghat roads are so well maintained and so wide that this was a pleasant surprise to me. Lot of options to stay both in Tirupati and Tirumal (Tirumala hill is the place where the temple is located which is around 25 kms uphill from Tirupati which is a plain area). I would suggest to stay in Tirumala (you wont find any hotels here but a good number of nice accommodation provided by TTD itself which is nicely maintained, neat and clean) as you get a different experience staying close to the God. All kind of facilities are provided by TTD here. The darshan might take some time. I had Rs. 300 tickets for my family which took us around 1.5 hours for the darshan. You would hardly get a few seconds to see Lord Venkateswara so start taking a glimpse from the back of queue itself. The queue management is something which definitely needs some improvement. Have a good darshan.

This review fully based on our recent trip to tirupati. Tirupati is definitely not an ideal place for physically challenged or very senior persons (80+ years). No one will be allowed for their assistance. They have some so called volunteers to assist but neither of them will come near and help. The younger senior citizens (60+ years) only can help the elders. Unnecessary complication in queue process for Darshan. If you have money and affordable then you will have a pleasant time at Tirumala. With all such negative feelings, if you stand before Balaji, everything melts off and the divine experience prevails forever, that's for sure. For that moment, we can tolerate anything at any cost. TTD is doing a hell, whereas the God is vibrant and very powerful radiating positive energy.

Tirumala is a wonderful pilgrimage  with lot of rules and regulations. We are a frequent visitors to this temple and well aware of those rules. So we plan our trip accordingly and enjoy every moment. So I like to share some tips to those who visit tirumala for the first time or after a long time. At Tirumala there are many sevas and darshans including free darshan. Free darshan will take very long time for darshan. So we go for special darshan (Rs. 300 per head)  and we have to book it online in advance. Usually we book for afternoon or evening darshan so that we start from our home in the early morning. It will take around 5 to 6 hours for us to reach. Or sometimes go and stay there on previous day itself. However there is one tollgate at foothills. There each one of us and all our luggage should be scanned. Sometimes there will be heavy crowd and it may take even take more than an hour. If we are lucky we may finish that checking within 5 minutes. It depends. So consider this also in your time planning. Then in Tirumala for special darshan dress code is there. Ladies should wear saree/ half saree with blouse or chudidhar with dupatta. Gents should wear dhoti and formal shirt or paijama. No electronic items such as mobile phones, cameras, mp3 players, pen drives etc are allowed inside the temple. You should not have even battery cells. So keep everything including your footwears in your room or car or deposit it in deposit counters before reporting time. For example your reporting time is 4 pm means deposit everything before it and keep only your purse and handbag with you and report at the reporting point in time. It will save time. There are 2 or 3 security checks in the queue. If you are free you can cross those checks within a minute. Otherwise if you stop to deposit something in the middle it will take another 1 hour at deposit counter which may result in very long hours of waiting in darshan queue. Ladies should not wear flowers. All the flowers are only for God at Tirumala. If you are aware of these points and your mind will be prepared for this authoritarianism you will plan well basing on this and you will not be astonished or get irritated. Then you can enjoy your pilgrimage.

Terms & Conditions

Important note.

• As a tour facilitator, My Divine Trip has no control or authority over the airline's logistics. Therefore we are neither responsible nor liable for any loss, that a user may incur due to change, rescheduling, or cancellation of flights.
• The cost of any additional service which is not only limited to airfare difference but also accommodation, transportation, and others arising due to the delay, rescheduling, or cancellation of flights will be borne by the guest, however, we shall extend our fullest support and cooperation in arranging the inventory.
• Accommodation in well appointed room
• Meals as per hotel plan
• All transfers & sightseeing as per itinerary in an air -conditioned vehicle
• All toll taxes , parking fees & drivers allowance
• All other Temple Entrance Tickets apart from Balaji Mandir 300/- SED Tickets, are not included in the package cost
• Seat Selection fee and meal on the flight are not included in the package cost.
• Cab operators charge extra for the places not included in the itinerary
• Any kind of personal expenses or optional tours/extra meals ordered
• Anything not specifically mentioned under the head “Prices included”

Cancellation Policy

• All flight packages are a combination of three components, 1. Flight Tickets, 2. Balaji Darshan Pass & 3. Hotel, Cab & Others, cancellation charges are different for each of these and it is as per below stated for each.
• Flight Ticket: Cancellation policy is as per the airlines on your ticket, in general, the cancellation charges are between ₹ 3000 to ₹ 3700 per person per route depending on the airlines.
• Balaji Darshan Pass: If a darshan pass is taken, 100% of the darshan pass cost is non-refundable and it is non-transferable the cost of the tickets can be seen on the AP Tourism Darshan Tickets. (The price of the darshan pass is under the sole discretion of AP Tourism)
• Hotel, Cab & Others: Cancellation charges will be on the cost excluding flight ticket & darshan pass price.
• Cancellation charges per person
• Before 30 Days of departure: 20%
• 30 Days to 15 Days before departure: 40%
• 14 Days to 7 Days before departure: 60%
• 6 Days to 0 Days before departure or No Show: 100%
• 2 Days before departure: 100%
• If flights are getting canceled or rescheduled : If your flight is canceled or you didn't want to opt for the rescheduled flight 1. You will get a full refund on the airline ticket, 2. If Darshan Pass is generated that particular amount will not be refundable & 3. The service charge of 350/- is deducted per adult.

FORCE MAJEURE

In these booking conditions, 'force majeure' means any event which My Divine Trip / the supplier of the service(s) in question, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include disruptions/diversions of air services, floods, earthquakes, riots, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, disease outbreaks, fire, and all similar events outside the control of the party concerned. We cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our obligations under our agreement with you is prevented or affected by, or you otherwise suffer any damage or loss as a result of, 'force majeure'.

Things to Know

Dress code to temple.

• Gents: Kurta, Pyjama/ Dhoti with Shirt or Pancha with Shirt.
• Ladies: Half Saree/ Chudidhar with Dupatta/ Saree. (Western outfit not allowed like Jeans, Night pant, Track Suit etc)

Instructions while visiting Temples

• Pilgrims who book for Darshan should bring the printed copy of their receipt.
• All devotees required to carry original Photo ID proof at the time of reporting
• Not to carry Electronic gadgets like Mobile, Laptop etc.
• Darshan tickets are non-transferrable.

Age Limit for Darshan

• Ticket required for 12+ years. Below 12 years of age, darshan is free, should be accompanied by parents. The child required to carry age proof to avail free entry.
