Visit and explore a traditional charming Cretan village known for its picturesque surroundings, characterised by green valleys and hills covered in olive and orange groves.

The village is nestled in a fertile valley, providing a tranquil and idyllic atmosphere to visitors. It is renowned as the birthplace of EL GRECO, the famous Renaissance painter. Our quad safari will take you right outside the house of EL GRECO where you will have the chance to see his family home and learn about his life.

Another point of interest in the beautiful village of Fodele is the 11th century church of Panagia which features traditional Byzantine architectural elements and gives a glimpse into the rich cultural and religious heritage of the Byzantine Empire.

During the visit you will have the opportunity to see this church as well as to explore the central village and have a short break for refreshments in an iconic café next to a river.

Having explored different aspects of the island through this diverse and enriching quad biking tour we take the return route back to the starting point. Descending from the mountain offers breath-taking views of the seacoast from above that are truly mesmerizing.

Under the guidance of our experienced guides you can enjoy the adrenaline rush while appreciating the grandeur of the coastal landscape and the endless horizon of the sea. Driving a quad cycle requires a B category driving licence, and minors must be accompanied by an adult (a parent).

One quad cycle can carry up to two people, who can switch at some point.

Please dress in accordance with the weather. We hope getting dirty is acceptable to you, because the rides can be muddy or dusty, depending on the weather.

Please be there 10 minutes before the agreed time so we can brief you and introduce you to the safety guidelines.

Get back to nature and explore Crete with a quad-bike safari tour. Embark on an unforgettable journey through rugged terrain, mountain trails, and hidden paths inaccessible by conventional vehicles.

An adventure you don’t want to miss. Our tour leader is a true professional with over 40 years of off-road experience. He will guide you through the olive groves and tiny hillside villages that make up the real Crete behind Hersonissos. You will drive a well-maintained quad, and crash helmet, and we will drive along a private track that avoids the main road traffic.

We will pass through several small villages and later on we stop for a break, and maybe some photos of the amazing landscapes. You will be taken through villages occasionally, so narrow the quads just fit between the walls, to have a coffee stop where birds nest inside the cafe with a total village population of 9 people. At the whole safari tour, you will see majestic views of the hills and valleys, and enjoy a lunch at a family owned restaurant in a traditional small village.

One of the top things to do in Crete!

The nature tour  (half day adventure) will cover a total of  65km   and take approximately 5 hours . 80% will be ‘off road’  in all different terrains..

We start at our main office in Hersonissos. After the instructions from the very professional guide Andreas on how to operate and use the Quads, we will go straight to the mountain. Using the very small road (no traffic) so you can try steering the Quad, accelerating, and braking. Our journey towards the beautiful traditional villages of Koutouloufari, Piscopiano and old Hersonissos. T hen continue onto the nearby mountains toward Lasithi plateau.

Just before Potamies village , we will drive through small riverbeds (and if we are lucky – also through water) and pass by small local gardens of orange, lemon, apples, pears, almond, and walnuts trees, plus grapes and olive groves, smelling the beautiful aroma of the many different herbs of the famous Cretan mountains. You’ll be able to listen to the sound of the millions of little tsitsikia (insects) which they will fly next to us all the way (they are not biting and not dangerous at all). We will drive up to 400m. height driving through a hunting area, visit a few small churches and have the opportunity to see stables of sheep and goats on the way to traditional Karouzanos village , inhabited by 15 people. Here you can have a Greek café, drink, or ice cream, rest and of course make some photos in this fantastically unique place.

Want more adventure on unexplored wild Cretan terrain?

Then we will drive up to 600 m. height towards Askous village. There we will have the opportunity to see the beautiful view of Lyttos and Kasteli area from the top. Halfway, we will start the entertaining downhill route from the beautiful little church to Askous village . We will stop to taste the authentic Cretan tsikoudia (raki) and share some tasty and pure snacks that traditionally accompany this drink in this part of Crete. Then we continue downhill to the Aposelemis dam and view Sfentili village (now underwater). This is the faster and extremely part of the tour at a place that looks like you are in a jungle until we reach the Panagias monastery .

The route may change depending on the following reasons: Group level, weather conditions, road conditions, and customers’ wishes.

Quad Safari in Crete

Our adventure starts from our premises in Malia. After a safety briefing we start the trip heading the Minoa palace in Malia. As we pass through the palace and continue towards the village Sisi we will cross a  forest , pass through olive groves under the main road and continue up the mountains where we will have a great photo under the one of the biggest and the oldest (over than 800 years old) oak in the island. Then we continue to the village Vrahasi. The route snakes through the narrow village streets of Vrahasi and climbs steeply up towards the old Monastery of Agios Georgios Vrahasiotis.

The off-road track offers great opportunities for amazing photographs and breathtaking scenery . Every 30 minutes we will stop for photographs and a chance to change drivers. During this time, the guide will inform you about the places that you visit.

Our trip will continue through the village Latsida where the longest stop will be made for lunch in traditional tavern.

After eating and chatting, our trip is continuing to the village Neapoli where we visit Vasilakis olive factory where we have our friendly olive tour in award-winning Cretan olive press. After that our adventure will be complete but not over. We will go to village of Sisi in a beautiful beach for swimming and then we drive back to our base where our journey began.

Off-Road Quad Safari Tours in Crete!

Just before we start for this unforgettable Guided Quad tour experience, the Experts of our Quad Safari will teach you everything about the ATV vehicles, including lessons for beginners so that everyone is ready to discover Crete safely, with lots of fun and excitement! 

To begin we go uphill onto an off-road terrain between olive groves to reach our first stop, where we will enjoy the panoramic views at the Chapel of the Prophet Elias. 

Then let’s… Off-road again!  

Descending through this verdant place full of colours, we will safari on an impressive off-road route between the vineyards and the olive forest to explore the Cretan nature which will amaze you!

Then we will take a tour of the local olive oil factory where we will learn how to extract olive oil. A small taste test will follow!

We continue through dirt roads to the historical Cave of Milatos. Impressive mountains and wildlife nature with rich flora and fauna and unique views. Opportunity to collect some local herbs and be one with nature!

Take stunning photos and then let’s carry on exploring one of the most historical caves of Crete after hiking from the ancient path to the Milatos Cave!

• Driving Eligibility: Only individuals with a valid car license are permitted to drive a quad bike in Tenerife.
• Weather Dependency: Quad biking is subject to favorable weather. In the event of cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions, participants can opt for an alternative date or receive a complete refund.
• Weight Limit: The weight limit for each quad is strictly 160kg. If participants collectively exceed this limit, they are required to book two separate quads. If this issue arises on-site, arrangements can be made with the quad company, where, in the worst-case scenario, one participant might have to join the guide in the jeep. No refunds will be granted in such cases.
• Conduct: Intoxicated customers or those displaying inappropriate behavior will be denied participation and are ineligible for a refund.

Cancellation Policy:

• For cancellations or rescheduling: Customers must notify us a minimum of 48 hours in advance by emailing [email protected] . For bookings of 4 quads or more, this window extends to 4 days prior to the activity date. Failure to cancel within the stipulated time frame or tardiness on the day of the tour will result in forfeiture of the refund.
• Comfort and Weather: Decisions made based on personal comfort, such as perceptions of the temperature being too hot or cold, are non-refundable provided the conditions are deemed safe for quad biking by the operator. Participants are encouraged to check the forecast and dress appropriately for the weather conditions to ensure a comfortable experience.
• Deposit and Payment Policy: Club Canary makes it easy for you to book with only a deposit and the rest on arrival. However, this does not mean the deposit covers damages if you don’t show up or cancel last minute. Therefore, if you cancel between 12 and 24 hours before the trip starts, you still need to pay 30% of the payment due on arrival (double amount for groups of 4 or more). For no shows, or cancellations less than 12 hours before, you need to pay 60% of the arrival amount since there is no time anymore to find a replacement. Rise and shine, adventure seekers! The Kusadasi Quad Safari Tour lasts for 3 hours. The starting time is 9 AM, and our instructors shall spend some time to train you. The quad safari ride is a safe experience and anybody can do it. However, we do not recommend it to people who are above 55 years of age.

Safari: The Kusadasi Quad Safari begins with the camping forest site. The instructor shall tell you about the necessary gear and the quad bike. He will teach you the basics of handling the equipment and the ride. Voila! Let the journey begin as you will explore the woodland areas and the rivers. Before you explore these wet and wild surroundings, the instructor will take you on a quick test drive.

Pamucak Beach: The instructors shall then take you to the beautiful Pamucak Beach where you can ride your quad bike and explore the sands and the sea. We shall stop by for an elaborate lunch. Chitter chatter shall continue and then we shall head straight to the starting point. The overall experience (including training, test drive) will take about 3-3.5 hours. Additionally, the guests will be insured. Please sign the terms and conditions paper before going on the journey.

Training: Quad biking is not a difficult adventure activity. However, you need to focus on the instructions that the professionals would give you. Since you will be handling a quad bike, it is important to ride it with full attention. The instructors will explain you about the machinery and all the necessary gear.

Derecho brings damaging winds, 5 tornadoes in Quad Cities confirmed by US National Weather Service

The storm moved through the quad cities are monday night.

QUAD CITIES, Iowa/Ill. (KWQC) - Five tornadoes have been confirmed from Monday’s derecho.

The US National Weather Service in Davenport confirmed an EF-1 tornado in the Quad Cities metro. An EF-1 tornado was also confirmed near Taylor Ridge in Illinois , two Ef-1 tornados in Kewanee and an EF-0 near Fairpoint and Muscatine County.

Tuesday evening, the NWS confirmed an EF-1 tornado in Kewanee , bringing the total up to three EF-1 tornados confirmed so far.

Tuesday afternoon, the NWS confirmed an EF-1 tornado started near Taylor Ridge in Rock Island County and moved towards Sherrard and into Andover.

An additional tornado was confirmed by the NWS in Kewanee on the north end of town by Baker Park, bringing the total to five tornado in the TV6 viewing area.

The storm Monday which moved across Iowa and Illinois into Indiana and Ohio has also been classified as a derecho by the Storm Prediction Center.

A derecho is defined as a line of intense, widespread, and fast-moving windstorms, that sometimes include thunderstorms. The storm moves across a long distance and includes damaging winds.

According to the NWS, the tornado’s path went through Davenport and caused damage just south of Kimberly Road, to trees, roofs, and cars. The max winds were reported at 100 mph, with a max width of 100 yards for eight miles. The tornado passed through Davenport from 7:19 p.m. to 7:32 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

A survey team will continue in the area to get specifics, the NWS said in a Facebook post.

Peak wind gusts of the storm were reported to be between 70 and 100 mph. One peak gust of 97 mph came out of Holy Cross, IA in Dubuque County.

In the Quad Cities area, there was damage reported in many areas, including Scott, Rock Island, Henry, Carroll, and Des Moines counties.

Throughout Monday night power outages were reported. At one point, nearly 40,000 MidAmerican customers were without power in the Quad Cities area.

As of Tuesday morning, MidAmerican Energy reported 8,594 outages in the Iowa Quad Cities and 6,781 outages in the Illinois Quad Cities.

Davis Thompson makes it three in a row at John Deere Classic ‘Trophy House’

Make it 24 in ’24.

And three-for-three for "Trophy House".

In what started as a crowded final-round race for the John Deere Classic trophy, Davis Thompson quickly found himself running alone on Sunday.

He lapped the field with birdies on six of his first nine holes en route to a closing 7-under 64 at TPC Deere Run, a tournament record-setting total of 28-under 256, and a four-shot win over a trio of runners-up.

In his second year and 63rd start on the PGA TOUR, the 25-year-old blossoming star from Georgia became the 24th player to score his first PGA TOUR victory in the 53-year history of the Quad Cities event.

And, notably, he became the third straight winner out of an Airbnb rental house located just a few miles from TPC Deere Run, following 2022 winner J.T. Poston and last year’s winner Sepp Straka.

The newest Trophy House winner was the last man to book a room there this year when Straka opted for a hotel room with his wife and new baby, as Thompson found himself traveling solo while his wife, Holly Grace, served as a bridesmaid back home.

“It's kind of crazy,” Thompson said of the improbable streak of victories for visitors to the six-bedroom house just outside Colona, Illinois. “I stayed in Sepp's room. Me and him may be fighting for that room next year.”

Although Thompson’s talent had him trending toward victory, he said more than coincidence may be behind the success of Trophy House.

“Staying in a hotel room by myself, I probably would've let my mind wander a lot,” he said after taking a share of the lead into Sunday for just the second time on TOUR. “My mind did wander, but hanging out with those guys last night, doing laundry and watching sports kind of kept my mind off things.”

Said Poston, one of this year’s six housemates, “We have fun, play a lot of cards and once we get home it’s pretty relaxed. I think when you’re playing well, that’s nice to go back to that and not be thinking about your golf. Obviously, it’s working.”

So are a new set of Titleist irons that Thompson put in his bag and a new golf ball he put in play in April. He’s had six top-25 finishes since the change, including runner-up finishes at the Myrtle Beach Classic and last week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Now, he has a dominating victory over arguably the deepest field in Quad Cities history, and he has joined a stalwart group of recent first-time TPC Deere Run winners that includes major champions Jordan Spieth, Bryson DeChambeau and Brian Harman.

To hear fellow TOUR players who know the former University of Georgia All-American well, Thompson has the game to match that latter trio’s subsequent success.

“I have been telling him for a couple of years he’s capable of reaching the top of the game, being a consistent Ryder Cupper for America and probably getting into the top 10 of the world,” said fellow Georgia alum Brendon Todd. “He’s that good. There’s not a lot of difference between his game and where Scottie Scheffler was three years ago.

“I said last week he’d probably be the guy who’d keep the mojo going for that house.”

Two-time major winner Zach Johnson is a close friend of Thompson’s father, Todd, a former Georgia Bulldog golfer himself and tournament director of The RSM Classic. Johnson often plays alongside Davis Thompson back home on St. Simons Island, Georgia, with accomplished pros like Harman, Poston, Harris English, Patton Kizzire and Davis Love III, among others.

“We saw it coming about two, three months ago,” Johnson said. “He did some changes in his golf bag and it started to click. He's in that talent realm, and what we're seeing, if you know him, it’s not surprising.”

Thompson might be the last guy to say such things out loud. Quiet, sneaky funny, and mostly unemotional are words those close to him use to describe him.

His wife, who flew to the Quad Cities on Sunday, said Thompson showed more emotion when the final putt dropped on Sunday than he did on their wedding day, but having dated Thompson since high school, she well knows the heart of a lion he carries inside.

“He is literally a national treasure,” she said. “He’s a secret, but once you get to know him, he’s a whole different person.”

Thompson conceded his expectations upon joining the TOUR were not inconsiderable.

“I mean, of course, like every young guy, my expectation was to win every week, and that's just not feasible,” he said.

Yet, rather than tempering expectations, he worked doubly hard to attain them.

“It just kind of takes me a while to get adjusted, and then once I get comfortable, I kind of get in a groove and start to play well,” he said. “I feel like the past couple months, I got more and more comfortable and was able to break through this week.”

More spoils may follow. Playing in Ryder Cups and Presidents Cups and ranking near the top of the game certainly are ambitions, but he knows those are rewards to be earned.

“Yeah, I mean, obviously those are the goals,” he said. “But now that I've got my first win, I feel like the work is only beginning. The goal is to play this game for 20-plus years and have a great career.

“Yeah, as far as goals, honestly, just not really thinking about that right now. Just hopefully trying to get some sleep on (the Deere) charter flight to the Genesis Scottish Open.”

That, and, perhaps, to sleep in Trophy House again next July.
