No Customer Service

Hi - we attended Teesside Park Tui at 9.15 on Sat 03/09/22, we knew exactly what holiday/date/flight we wanted for a Tui trip to Mexico in May 2023. I had already rang the store on Tues 30/08/22 at 13.44 to book and was advised there was no one free and someone would ring back, hopefully that day - if not Wed 31/08/22. However that never happened and I had no missed calls either day. So we went into the store, which opened at 9am, apart from a receptionist and someone in bureau de change there was no one in the shop. We advised the receptionist that we wanted to book the holiday and she said as they had appointments coming in at 9.30, we could not do that. I asked if there was staff available and she said yes but they would not be able to see us! This is really poor service!!! We try to use local stores as it keeps local people working and shopping centres alive, so we went to another store - not Tui and booked with them in 20 mins for a £3500 holiday. Your Loss!

Brilliant experience for a last minute trip…

Brilliant experience for a last minute city break booking. We were seen straight away and given advice and recommendations. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Can’t remember the ladies name she was blonde with glasses, she was fab! Really helpful and got us all booked and checked in. Thank you!

Fantastic staff at Hays Travel Teeside Park!

It’s the 4th time in the last 3years, that I have booked a holiday with Libby through Hays travel at Teesside Park. I have always found Libby to be very knowledgeable and helpful regarding what we want in a holiday, especially as I have two young girls , I always recommend Hays Travel as they have never disappointed!

Brilliant start to finish, Lauren was exceptional and took on our long listed holiday request like a breeze and found us the perfect Rhodes holiday and at a great deal too! All of the staff in there were so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend.

“Teesside customer service. ” Review of TUI Airways (United Kingdom)

Paid £5k in store and booked legroom. Was sat in front of a toilet where people stood entire flight, was told by Jordie at Teesside, I should of asked them to move, not their problem, staff on board should of asked them to move but didn’t. Told her we ordered veggie meal at store and Crew there and back said it wasn’t on system, Jordie said it was, not their problem again, just blame each other. She also kindly reminded me food on flights is free. Poor service and felt like they couldn’t care less once they had your money, explained the leg room was an additional fee which we got the seat but not the legroom, but again this was our problem. Considering all in nearly spent 5.5k you would have thought we would have been treated a little better, but does not seem like they are bothered by reputation or customer satisfaction.

This was first time with Tui. Booking was ok through local agent. Checked in online but not sure why as had to queue ages anyway. Flight was 06.15. We went through and board said ‘relax more information 08.30’. Not one Tui staff member mentioned this whilst we were queuing. The board let kept changing each hour and 5 hours passed. No explanation from Tui no refreshments offered. Then a frantic call to go to gate at 11. Apparently ALL the crew had called sick so had to find a full crew. Flight was ok We were just pointed in direction of transfer bus and didn’t really know where we were going but found it eventually. Got onto bus rep came on and took names then came on again half hour later and said wrong people on wrong buses so cases buggies offloaded and others put on. It was chaos. Waited an hour and half to set off so by then it was Naples rush hour. Arrived 730pm at the hotel La Solara in Sorrento and lost first day of 7 day holiday. Went to welcome meeting. No welcome drinks like we’ve had previously with other companies. We’re given list of trips and prices. Decided to book 2 trips so saw rep on Monday (she was late so we were waiting around hotel). They came out more than the list stated and she simply said ‘yes the prices went up 2 weeks ago but haven’t been printed yet so this is the old one’. She reckoned she discounted them but they were still more than on the sheet. Trip one Pompeii half day. Rushed around really really crowded with other people all following flags (they must do all the trips on a Weds morning) and didn’t see some of it. Later found out you can get bus there for a few euros and it is €19 to get in. We paid around €60 each for trip. Second trip Amalfi Gems full day. Rushed around Positano then taken to Pontone to a restaurant clearly used for trips. Ushered in like school trip told where to sit. Set menu small slice pizza with couple of slices tomato and courgette for starter, tiny portion of pasta with tomato sauce main (no salad no bread no cheese offered) tough chewy lemon cake desert. Small glass wine and water. Staff miserable and rushing to get us out for their next trip. Went to Ravello which is stunning but again rushed. Spent more time on coach than in places. Paid well over €100 each for that one basically for a bus ride. Go to Sorrento port and you can get ferry/boat to most places. Buses take you everywhere for a few euros and train is even cheaper. First time in Italy and we were worried to do this but honestly do it independently you’ll have more time and more money the trips are a rip off. We did ferry to Capri and to Naples it was easy. Return transfer to airport was good but again..just driver no rep and didn’t see another from then on. They are offering compensation but we waited a long time for this break that was cut short and we didn’t feel cared for by Tui at all. Just money making. Hotel was amazing by way..but that’s another review and nothing to do with Tui input. We will go back to Jet 2

TUI has obviously missed the point of the word holiday. Their aircraft were old, shabby and dirty and I imagine similar comforts would have been popular on slave ships. But this pales when measured against the belligerent nature of the flight attendants. I haven’t the energy to tell the whole sorry tale as I am currently recovering from covid, which I ‘possibly’ contracted on the return flight; I just wanted to warn everyone that this might not be the enjoyable experience they looked forward to for months and worked hard to afford. It was certainly not the best top and tail to my honeymoon.

I am writing to further address the ongoing issue regarding my recent experience with TUI's booking process. I appreciate the follow-up communication I have received from the Male colleague in Caerphilly branch since my initial complaint. However, I would like to express my continued dissatisfaction with the way the situation has been handled. After my initial 4 phone calls (Two to Caerphilly where I was told I couldn’t change my original booking to a Tour) and Two to the online sales team who confirmed I could but they couldn’t help me - the latter I was put on hold for 10 mins. When I requested Head office contact details to make a complaint, after being on hold for 10 mins the phone was disconnected. I received a call back on Saturday, 19th August, during which I answered a couple of questions prompted by head office. This interaction appeared to go smoothly. However, the subsequent events have only added to my frustration. On 21/08/23, I received a call from the branch inquiring about the main driver for the car hire, as there was a request from head office for this information. Later that day, I received a call from the Llanelli Tui branch, informing me that the holiday I had changed to was now unavailable until next April, and it had been cancelled as a result. This sudden turn of events is both perplexing and distressing, especially given the previous efforts made to finalize the booking. I reached out to the Caerphilly branch to seek clarification on this matter. I spoke with a male colleague who confirmed the cancellation of the booking and presented me with a few options, including a full refund (including the change fee), choosing a different holiday without the fee, or receiving a 10% discount if I chose a more expensive holiday. While I understand that these options might be within my consumer rights, they fail to address the larger issue at hand—the way I have been treated throughout this process. I cannot emphasize enough the frustration and mental anguish that this series of events has caused both me and my partner. From receiving contradictory information to having a confirmed booking suddenly cancelled, the entire ordeal has been unnecessarily stressful. Moreover, the proposed options do not adequately address the inconvenience, confusion, and distress caused by TUI's mismanagement of the situation. While the resolution options presented might meet the technical requirements of the situation, they do not reflect the emotional and psychological toll this experience has taken on us. Myself and my daughter are planning a Trip to Disney Florida in Sept 2025 for 6 of us at quite a considerable cost. We were likely to have been booking with TUI, but I’m doubting the wisdom of this in light of these recent occurrences. I believe there has been a severe lack of redress to the situation created, and I feel that my concerns have not been fully acknowledged or addressed by the company. The inconsistent communication, sudden cancellation, and lack of empathy displayed throughout this process have tarnished the reputation of TUI and its commitment to customer service. I kindly request the following actions to be taken: 1. A thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the cancellation of the booking after it was initially resolved. 2. A formal apology for the undue stress, confusion, and emotional distress caused by TUI's mismanagement of the situation. 3. A more substantial resolution that accounts for the inconvenience, mental anguish, and disappointment experienced. 4. Assurance that steps will be taken to prevent such communication breakdowns and service lapses in the future. I trust that TUI values its customers and will take this complaint seriously. I remain hopeful that you will reconsider the resolution options provided and take the necessary steps to truly address the emotional toll this experience has had on me and my partner. I kindly request a response to this follow-up complaint within 14 days of receipt. You can reach me at the above contact points. I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and hope for a resolution that takes into account the emotional aspect of this ordeal. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. I have been trying to request a vegetarian meal on the flight with much difficulty. I called the number at the bottom of the email which turns out is that parent company in Belgium. I was then given a UK number which I managed to speak to someone who claimed they were going to transfer me to the right department and just cut me off, I then called back and the same thing happened. It's 2023 why is it so difficult to do something so simple? Why isn't this available on there app? Booking number - 21181932
