Absolutely fantastic. Perfect voice live, all songs sound identical if not better than on Spotify. Something for everyone - 4 metre in diameter moshpits for songs like kilby girl and alike, but also beautiful air of melancholy for songs like sinking ship. Was wild. A journey of songs and emotions.

Lollapalooza 2021 Artist Spotlight: The Backseat Lovers

It’s as if the world of artists were all faced with the same conundrum at the start of the pandemic. Keanu Reeves’ character in the original Matrix faced a similar one. During COVID—creatives could really go one of two ways. The “red and blue pill” is symbolic of the choice between accepting or rejecting a life-changing truth. The blue represents staying in denial, and the red means accepting the truth. If you can think of a better metaphor, email me.  The Backseat Lovers are an example of musicians that definitely took the red pill.

They used extended solitude for inspiration. Instead of focusing on what others are doing wrong, they spent the time focusing on what they could do better at the 2021 Lollapalooza festival. Again, just a metaphor.

“In terms of new music, it was a very inspiring time.” Josh, the long-haired lead vocalist, and guitarist told me. “We were working on music several times a week…dialed in on a second album that we’ve been writing.”

From Heber City and Sandy, UT—the band started when Josh introduced himself to drummer Juice Welch. Josh later met Jonas in line at an open mic night at the Velour, a music venue in Provo, a place that SPIN Magazine fittingly calls one of the “best-kept secrets in Utah.”

The Backseat Lovers  began recording together and added bass guitarists KJ Ward along the way. They also began taking writing retreats during COVID, but they said the shift really took place two years ago when the four of them began living together.

“I think when we started,” Josh reflected. “It was really natural, and it still is most of the time—but after we were living together and working on songs to the degree that we do, everyone’s more emotionally involved.” Josh isn’t kidding either. He explained the band’s writing chemistry is just that, writing together.

“Basically every single song we write is a co-write to some degree,” he explained. “I think that has definitely changed the entire sound in a lot of ways.”

During their loud, powerful afternoon set at Lollapalooza on Saturday—the four youngsters rocked the T-Mobile Stage—introducing hordes of new fans to undeniable tracks like “Just a Boy,” “Kirby Girl,” and “Maple Syrup.” Give them a listen. It was the type of afternoon show where you could see the high schoolers walking by and whispering, “oh my gosh who’s that?!”

Whether or not the Backseat Lovers will be  back to Lollapalooza isn’t clear. But if you want to see them live in a city near you—you better act fast.

The band currently has 21 sold-out stops on their tour (and counting).

In recent years, Lollapalooza has sustained its success by branching out across different musical genres, and this year’s festival is no exception. Headliners stem from different musical genres and generations, including alt-pop superstar Billie Eilish, reggaeton queen Karol G, Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar and the classic rock group Red Hot Chili Peppers. In a time when the music festival bubble has burst, Lollapalooza has proven the most successful formula is to appease a wide-ranging audience with eclectic tastes and temperaments.

Here is our selection of the best up-and-coming and established musicians to check out during this year’s festival .

Lollapalooza runs this coming Thursday, Aug. 3, through Sunday, Aug. 6 in Grant Park. Limited tickets were available as of press time; www.lollapalooza.com

Not to Miss: Joy Oladokun, Billie Eilish and Carly Rae Jepsen.

More than seven years into her debut, Joy Oladokun continues to impress and shine with her genreless creations. Her fourth solo album, “Proof of Life,” released in April is a sonic balm jam-packed with collaborations (Mt. Joy, Chris Stapleton) and crisp anthems crafted to boost one’s self-empowerment and joy. Oladokun’s 3 p.m. time slot on the Bud Light stage may be early for the casual Lollapalooza audience, but the softer craftsmanship of her music should work perfectly in a midafternoon set of excited, yet calm festival goers.

At only 21 years old, Billie Eilish has made a formidable mark on the music industry and entertainment world. Most recently, Eilish released her sophomore record, 2021’s “Happier Than Ever,” which saw the singer-songwriter pivot from the hip-hop-influenced electropop of her debut album to more downtempo and jazz-influenced arrangements. If anything, Eilish proved she is more than just a one-hit wonder, pairing spindly arrangements with biting, sometimes unnerving lyrics. Yet, despite a recent reputation for making quieter, more earnest tunes, Eilish is also known for her spirited live shows, which often feature the artist jumping around the stage like more of a rock star than a pop star. As one of the festival’s headliners on the T-Mobile stage, audiences should expect a similar energy, albeit this time ramped up to the extreme.

Is there any surprise that pop master Carly Rae Jepsen went full disco on her last album, 2022’s “The Loneliest Time” Jepsen is known for zigging where others may zag, artfully predicting music’s trends and distilling only the finest choruses and melodies throughout her songs. Her new album, “The Loveliest Time,” envisioned as an accompaniment to “The Loneliest Time,” leans into these elements even more. Released on July 28, the album is brimming with danceable grooves and the cultural energy of a world ready to have fun again. Stick around for Jepsen’s early evening set on the Bud Light stage, and be prepared to dance. Her live shows are even more enthralling than her records.

Best Stages: Thursday is typically the most questionable lineup day of Lollapalooza, but this year has broken the stereotype. This is most evident on the Bud Light stage, which has booked some of the best and brightest pop-leaning acts of the entire festival. From cheeky openers The Beaches, who have perfected dreamy indie pop, to reggaeton headliner Karol G, the Bud Light stage is sure to be the most enjoyable stage of the day. Other highlights include Oladokun, Jepsen and electro-pop band Sofi Tukker.

Something Else: In recent years, Lollapalooza has improved its numbers in showcasing local artists, and 2023 is no exception. Rising young queer rapper Kidd Kenn has made a solid name for himself around the nation for his melodic beats and instrumentation coupled with a flow that traverses rhythms and speed for each song. Here, Kenn closes out the BMI Stage, one of the best stops for up-and-coming acts that are sure to break out in the next few years.

Other headliners and performers include Noah Kahan, Diplo and Portugal. The Man.

Concertgoers cheer The Wombats as Lollapalooza opens July 28, 2022 in Grant Park.

Not to Miss: Sudan Archives, Tems and Kendrick Lamar.

Every new Sudan Archives release has proven to be more experimental and riveting than the last, and 2022’s “Natural Brown Prom Queen” is musician Brittney Parks’ most exciting yet. Emotive and captivating, Parks found a perfect means of blending her more unique sonic elements with songs rooted in R&B and soul to capture a sound uniquely her own. But Parks is at her most compelling when she’s on the stage. Known for crafting a multilayered live show experience, expect numerous pedals, synths and her signature violin. It is a rare treat to see an artist like Sudan Archives at a festival like Lollapalooza, so audiences shouldn’t miss the opportunity at the T-Mobile stage.

Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems’ meteoric rise should come as no surprise to audiences who have listened to her two EPs, “For Broken Ears” and “If Orange Was a Place.” Blending elements of alt R&B and alté (itself a fusion genre), Tems has struck an indelible chord with global musical listeners. And the American music industry has taken notice, with wide-ranging collaborations with artists like Future, Drake and Beyoncé. But Tems deserves a spotlight of her own, and Friday’s midafternoon slot at the T-Mobile stage is a perfect showcase for the artist. Come for the hits (like 2020’s “Essence”) and stay for her eclectic body of groove-heavy and beautiful solo work.

Fans in the mood for a little more substance in their Lollapalooza festival experience should skip The 1975 and head to Kendrick Lamar’s headlining slot at the T-Mobile stage on Friday. Expect to hear tunes from his rich body of work, including 2022’s “Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers,” a concept album that saw the hip-hop artist explore themes of trauma, healing and personal responsibility. Lamar is a charismatic performer known for imbuing his live performances with cinematic, theme-laden visuals that linger in the minds of his audiences long after his set ends.

Best Stages: Audiences can get a little bit of everything at Friday’s T-Mobile stage. Start the day off early with underrated rapper Skizzy Mars, then stick around for not-to-miss acts like Sudan Archives, Tems and Lamar. We are particularly excited for Fred Again…, whose meditative downtempo house tunes are often lovely, life-affirming odes to his friends and family.

Something Else: Don’t underestimate “teen pop.” Sabrina Carpenter may have first made her breakthrough as an actress on Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World,” but she has established a formidable solo music career featuring stirring pop. On her fifth and latest solo album, “Emails I Can’t Send,” Carpenter’s songwriting is sharper than ever, revealing bold insight into her young life of confusion and heartbreak. Give her a chance during her late-afternoon set on the Coinbase stage.

Other headliners and performers include Beabadoobee, Foals, Sabrina Carpenter and Jessie Reyez.

Not to Miss: Maggie Rogers and Nora en Pure.

Music is spiritual business for Maggie Rogers . In 2021, Rogers enrolled in Harvard’s Divinity School to study, according to The New York Times , “the spirituality of public gathering and the ethics of pop power.” Rogers’s 2022 album, “Surrender,” was crafted, in part, for her master’s thesis. Whereas her debut, “Heard It in a Past Life,” featured more traditional folk-pop elements, “Surrender” is firmly rooted in electropop. Sonically, it is a more up-tempo and propulsive record. Rogers once called it “joy with teeth,” a description that is evident and true on tracks like “That’s Where I Am” and “Want Want.” Catch her on the Bud Light stage for an early evening set sure to provide audiences with a rapturous awakening.

Looking for something different during your Lolla experience this year? Look no further than producer Daniela Di Lillo who performs as Nora En Pure . Although Lolla has amassed a noticeable, bro-heavy EDM audience through its usual lineups at Perry’s stage, booking Nora en Pure (and Fred Again… on Friday) might signal a sonic change in its electronic music lineups. Di Lillo has made a name for herself over the last decade by releasing gorgeous deep house tunes (like the iconic “Come With Me” or the piano-laden “Sherwood Forest”) perfect for warm, late summer nights on the shores of Ibiza. Her Lolla set, scheduled for late evening, is sure to be a perfect balm from the typical chaos of the festival on a Saturday.

Best Stages: One of the most interesting and surprising stages of the year is Saturday’s Perry’s stage, which is jam-packed with an eclectic lineup of artists, from the Balearic deep house of Nora en Pure to the silly, but enjoyable EDM of AC Slater to the body-jacking groves of Solardo. We’re also excited for Pusha T’s closing set on the stage, which should prove to be something of a breath of fresh air for the normally electronic-focused stage.

Something Else: It’s hard to believe it’s only been five years since The Linda Lindas first formed and two years since they found viral fame from a video posted by the Los Angeles Public Library. Since then, the group (whose oldest member is only 18 years old) has racked up a number of achievements most artists could only dream of, including a set at Coachella and an opening slot for Paramore during their latest tour. Yet the group has only released one album and one EP. Brimming with ingenuity and promise, we’d recommend catching them here on their early afternoon set at the Tito’s Handmade Vodka stage (ironic since no members are of legal drinking age) before they inevitably gain an even larger fan base.

Other headliners and performers include ODESZA, Tomorrow X Together and J.I.D.

Not to Miss: Dehd, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lana del Rey

Chicago three-piece indie rock band Dehd is a local success story, so it’s only fitting they’ve garnered a much-coveted slot during Sunday’s Lolla lineup. After the surprise success of 2020’s “Flower of Devotion,” the group solidified their talents with their latest record, 2022’s “Blue Skies.” Featuring the viral hit “Bad Love,” the album is a formidable collection of the band’s winning charm, lyricism and surprisingly catchy melodies. Catch this early afternoon homecoming show on the T-Mobile stage for a guaranteed good time.

Lollapalooza may have grown significantly and incorporated many new genres since it first premiered in the 1990s, but festival organizers still try to maintain some of the elements (i.e., rock music) of the original event. Booking a long-lasting and beloved rock band like the Red Hot Chili Peppers certainly fits that bill in 2023. Propulsive and enigmatic, the Red Hot Chili Peppers is sure to be a good time, even for the most casual of fans. Audiences interested in straight-up rock should stick around for this headlining set at the T-Mobile stage.

Lana Del Rey’s live sets have come a long way since she first found fame more than a decade ago. The elusive yet prolific singer-songwriter has gained significantly more confidence, imbuing her live shows with a cinematic, almost haunting, mood. For fans who have grown with the musician and her many genre experimentations through the years, this makes for a compelling, cheeky and even emotional live show. Expect to hear music across her rich discography, with a particular focus on Del Rey’s latest album, “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd,” which was released in March and features a return to some of the sonic elements (alt-pop, hip hop) that gained her fans in the first place. She closes out the Bud Light stage.

Best Stages: It is difficult to choose a favorite stage for Sunday’s Lollapalooza lineup, but we are particularly drawn to the T-Mobile stage. Audiences can find a little bit of everything on this stage, from ’90s rock (Red Hot Chili Peppers) to rap and indie pop. And with plenty of time between each performer, you can traverse the Grant Park landscape and catch some of the other, smaller acts performing during the festival.

Something Else: Rina Sawayama may have broken through recently in the acting world with a role in “John Wick: Chapter 4,” but we will — first and foremost — always think of her as a pop artist. Most recently, Sawayama released her sophomore record, “Hold the Girl,” in 2022. The critically acclaimed album found the singer exploring a more complex pop music landscape, incorporating elements from genres as far-ranging as electro-pop and country to R&B and trance. Sawayama is a star with charisma, drive and intelligence. Never afraid to experiment, she is sure to dazzle audiences during this early evening set on the Bud Light stage.

Other headliners and performers include Neil Frances, Lil Yachty, Bakar, Gorgon City, Afrojack and Magdalena Bey.

Enjoying the Ride: The Backseat Lovers Play Their Brilliant New Album, ‘Waiting to Spill,’ to an Adoring Chicago Crowd

Derek Smith

Waiting to Spill , the second full-length album and major label debut from The Backseat Lovers released on October 28, 2022, via Capital Records is brilliant. It is a fully-completed work of art, rather than an incongruous set of songs from a band searching for its identity.

backseat lovers tour chicago

What is particularly amazing about Waiting to Spill is that The Backseat Lovers, comprised of Joshua Harmon (lead vocals and guitar), Jonas Swanson (lead guitar and vocals), KJ Ward (bass guitar) and Juice Welch (drums and background vocals), are barely four years removed from high school. Bands this young are not expected to create albums with such depth, texture and emotion. Perhaps The Backseat Lovers are no ordinary band, though, as they have created a mature and confident album that belies their youth.

As a concept, the album is seemingly about the inevitability of adulthood and the struggle to navigate the gaping chasm between innocence and responsibility.  It begins with “Silhouette,” a lush, yet haunting song with a gradually increasing tempo and a pulsating rhythm that perfectly captures the sense of running that Harmon urges in his lyrics: “Run while you can/while you are still a silhouette of a man.”

Near song’s end, we are left breathless, as if we have succeeded in whatever we were running towards or away from (perhaps adulthood in either instance). With echoes of Pink Floyd, a single note then drones on until the sound of a car races across the speakers shortly before the guitar returns to crash into the opening lyrics of “Close Your Eyes,” a song that continues the album’s coming of age theme and, as Harmon has explained, “our relationship with our parents.”

A passionate song that builds to an emotional and anxious crescendo, “Close Your Eyes” suggests (to this writer) a youthful, and arguably naïve, fear of one day waking up to learn that your dreams are over because you’re an adult:

The clock, it ticks I have to get older When I wake up And the dream is over Packed away My life moving slower Oh I’d hate to get any older Oh I’d hate to get any older The clock, it ticks I have to get older (like your father?)

The thematic exploration of the journey to adulthood continues throughout the album, with songs of reminiscence (“Morning in the Aves”), reflection (“Growing/Dying”), and loneliness (“Viciously Lonely”). Despite such potentially heavy concepts, however, the album avoids falling into darkness; it is bright and honest, but not depressive. This is due in large part to the dynamic arrangement of the songs that often transition, much like our own emotional rollercoasters, between the soft and tender, and the upbeat and fiery (“Words I Used,” “Snowbank Blues,” “Follow the Sound,” “Slowing Down,” and “Know Your Name”).

The album, produced by Grammy award-winning producer David Greenbaum, also benefits from the use of subtle sonic experimentation and accoutrements (“Silhouette,” “Growing/Dying,” “Follow the Sound,” “Viciously Lonely”) that, coupled with the band’s superb musicality, creates an enchanting and captivating sound that transforms the album into a complete immersive experience.

But can they translate this feeling in concert?  The answer is a resounding “yes.”

At their recent show in Chicago on November 10, 2022, where they played Waiting to Spill in its entirety, The Backseat Lovers proved they are no mere studio darlings. If anything, they are an even better live act, performing with a confidence and precision that (again) does not seem to fit their age. It’s a sentiment that is obviously shared by others, as their adoring fans were lined up around the block long before the show and then packed the 2,500-capacity venue hours before the band took the stage.

The word is out about The Backseat Lovers.  Whether they are the ”next big thing” or already there, it is clear that this band is taking a backseat to no one. For more information on their tour, Waiting to Spill, or their prior releases including the self-produced EP Elevator Days , their first full-length LP When We Were Friends , or Live from the Troubadour , head to their website .

In addition to their radio success, the band has built a rabid grass-roots following. The Backseat Lovers are currently in the studio recording the follow up to their debut album.

Review: The Backseat Lovers Are Barely Old Enough To Drive, But Are Talented Well Beyond Their Years

  • Music , Reviews

The Backseat Lovers ' Major label debut Waiting To Spill dropped into my inbox a few months ago and I was immediately struck by two things: a) how had I never heard of this band (?!), and b) how unusual is it for a Major to release an album by an incredibly young group that seems to actually be, you know, a working band? Some digging uncovered that the group had a couple decent Spotify hits, but they didn't have the kind of footprint you'd expect from a group being groomed for the Majors. Which meant a real, new band focused on their music and not their influencer status might have somehow infiltrated the Major label system again!

The Backseat Lovers hail from Provo, Utah and the band is so young that when they talk about 19-year-old women in their 2019 breakout-ish hit "Kilby Girl," the band members were all writing that from the vantage point of a crush on an older woman. But their new album Waiting To Spill doesn't sound like something a bunch of teenagers dreamt up, instead standing as a pretty remarkable artistic effort. To me it's odd to hear a band so young sound so thoroughly developed, so I dug through their catalog and discovered that while their 2018 debut EP still sounds remarkable, 2019's LP When We Were Friends feels overly cautious at times, and a half-step backward to me. But this excited me—those are earmarks of a band finding its way instead of a band just refining a proven sound!

And what a sound! I know it's supposedly poor form to whip out a RIYL (Recommended If You Like, for any unfamiliar) in a review, but in this case the band really does sound like the lovechild of Them Yorke, Conor Oberst, and Wilco c. Summerteeth / YFH, with a dash of Paul McCartney thrown in, especially when they need a rolling piano part that's got some pop panache to it. The most interesting thing is that The Backseat Lovers are a group so young that all of its influences could justifiably be viewed as "classic rock" by its members, so the net result is a band that has internalized all these influences instead of parroting them. This band doesn't worship its idols, it grew up on them being so pervasively in the background the band just absorbed them.

So when the band announced a Chicago date I knew I had to exit my pandemic hermitage and see if they were the real deal who could pull it off live or just a really talented studio band. Last Thursday, November 10, I got my answer.

The Riv was packed on Thursday night, which meant I was going to get a chance to hear the band live, but would only occasionally get a glimpse of them. The Riv's sight lines are pretty nonexistent if the show is at or near capacity—something I had completely forgotten over the 3 (?!) years since I was last there. But the sound system is usually more than up to the challenge of submerging you in the music. Unfortunately, The Backseat Lovers favor a more intimate sound mix, which probably works great in most rooms, but in a multi-level room with tons of obstructions like The Riv, it sometimes served to muddy the group's sonic efforts. On future tours, I think if the band added a little more punch to the mix to separate the instruments, it would only help them since the intricacy of some of their songs would benefit from that clarity.

Yet it was still a great show!

While The Backseat Lovers might have only recently come to my attention, the venue was packed by fans deeply familiar with the band. As in, singing along so loudly to many of the songs that it was at times difficult to hear singer Joshua Harmon's actual vocals. And believe you me, that was AWESOME as most of the kids in the room gleefully let their voices rip, adding a choral feeling of community to the proceedings, and elevating the experience. And the band sagely split the set up, playing Waiting To Spill in its entirety before moving on to a mini set of "hits" mostly pulled from When We Were Friends . I can tell you this—the new material was sung along to and received just as rapturously as "the hits." I confess I had forgotten how wondrous it can be to be surrounded by so many people paying such close attention to a band, while enthusiastically engaging with every song.

As the band's encore of "Sinking Ship" gave way to bright lights and canned music from the venue as everyone slowly (and dazedly) made their way towards the exits I realized I had the answer to my question going in: The Backseat Lovers are both a really talented studio band and the real deal that can authentically, organically, and compellingly pull it off live. They're the best of both those worlds, and I am newly excited to see what they do next. You should be too.

You will find a summery sound in The Backseat Lovers mixed with insightful lyrics and passionate melodies. An indie-rock group that rose out of Heber City and Sandy, Utah, The Backseat Lovers packs a ton of smooth compositions that playfully intertwine to create a blissful atmosphere. The band fully formed in 2018 and Harmon started digging deeper into his songwriting collection to see what they could do. In the summer of 2018, the group released their debut EP entitled Elevator Days before playing their first show shortly after. With songs like “Out of Tune”, “Still a Friend” and “Address Your Letters” the album was well-received. A year later the group released their first full-length album entitled When We Were Friends .

Atwood Magazine - For the Love of Music

Concert Review: The Backseat Lovers are Growing – and Fast!

The Backseat Lovers © Travis Bailey

A live experience like no other, indie rock band The Backseat Lovers set out on their largely sold out ‘Waiting to Spill’ tour, bringing their spirited songs to life through a passionate, intimate, and unforgettable performance.

Stream: “slowing down” – the backseat lovers.

T he Salt Lake City-hailing indie rock band The Backseat Lovers, who got their start with live performances in intimate settings such as Kilby Court and The Troubadour, are small no more. The group embarked on their nationwide Waiting to Spill tour back in April, showcasing new songs off their latest record in breathtaking fashion while continuing to develop a dynamic fanbase in each and every city they visit.

Waiting to Spill - The Backseat Lovers

I attended their sold-out Hollywood show at the Palladium on April 26 and my first reaction before even entering the venue was that of disbelief – their Los Angeles fanbase had seemed to triple in size since seeing them the year before at The Fonda Theatre.

Fans had been lined up on Sunset Boulevard with armchairs and umbrellas since the wee hours of the morning. Similar to the themes of growth and maturity captured in their latest record, I wondered if I was about to witness a turning point in the band’s success.

Joshua Harmon (lead vocals and guitar), Jonas Swanson (lead guitar and vocals), KJ Ward (bass guitar), and Juice Welch (drummer and vocals) took the stage while being drowned with applause, entering what has become to be their signature live opening – an extremely passionate, intense instrumental jam session that boosts energy levels while developing a mysterious build-up into their first track.

The set opened up with “Know Your Name,” one of the band’s most spirited tracks off their new record, featured this past year on CBS Sunday Morning. This track contains one of the group’s greatest musical build-ups featuring an ultra-dynamic guitar solo from Harmon. It was evident how excited the group was to kick off their set with such a powerful ode to growth.

WAITING TO SPILL: EXPLORING INTENTION & EMOTION WITH THE BACKSEAT LOVERS

After an immediate transition into a fan-favorite, “Pool House,” the band paused to relish in the realization that the voices of the crowd were seemingly drowning out Harmon’s angst-driven vocals, a testament to the exponential growth of the group’s following.

Throughout the set, it was evident Harmon and the rest of the band were captivated by the fervent engagement they were receiving – cheers of support for guitarist Swanson’s vocal solos – which are more present than ever on their latest record – fans energetically jumping while shouting every word to “Kilby Girl,” even cries of approval for Harmon’s new haircut.

The Backseat Lovers clearly have gotten more and more comfortable playing together live, to the point where they’re not afraid to experiment and utilize various gear techniques while performing. At some points, Swanson would take a break from his guitar to essentially “play the pedals,” tweaking the balance of his pedalboard setup to create eerie, sonically clashing noises that added to the atmospheric intensity of the set. These experimental additions to the live set kept a buzzing audience on their toes.

In past performances the band has tended to keep to their spunky, high-energy setlist. With more emotionally intimate, sonically intricate tracks on Waiting to Spill, they took a break from rocking out towards the end of the set and returned to pleas for an encore – but came back with a surprise.

An encore was certainly what they delivered – a live debut of “Snowbank Blues” and “Words I Used,” switching to an acoustic duet between Harmon on the acoustic guitar and Swanson on keys. The vocal harmonies of Harmon and Swanson were highlighted as the audience lowered their volume out of sheer captivation from the emotionally gripping acoustic moments.

The Backseat Lovers © Travis Bailey

“Sinking Ship,” one of the first songs the emerging band ever wrote, was the beloved outro of the set, and in similar fashion to the beginning of the show Harmon’s voice was nearly drowned out with the number of fans enthusiastically shouting every word.

I’m certain that The Backseat Lovers will only continue to grow and perform in larger venues, so take advantage of each and every possibility to see them live in intimate settings. Their live performances are a mesmerizing experience that will leave you looking for any opportunity to see them again.
