Royal Caribbean International Cruises

Oasis of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships in the world. Royal Caribbean's ship spans 16 decks, encompasses 220,000 gross registered tons, carries 5,400 guests, and features 2,700 staterooms. The ship homeports in Port Canaveral and cruises the Caribbean year-round.

Although the artist's images in this gallery from Royal Caribbean provide a good look at some of the exciting and innovative features of Oasis of the Seas, I also was aboard for two days and compiled over 200 new photos of the ship to complement these artist's drawings. Check them out on the links below.

Loft Suite Interior

The Oasis of the Seas was the first cruise ship suites to feature two levels and floor to ceiling windows.

The lofts offer spectacular views of the ocean with floor to ceiling double-height windows to ensure the view is enjoyed from every vantage point. Other features among these 28 lofts are a unique modern design dotted with abstract, modern art pieces, spacious living areas on the lower level with contemporary detailing, and a private balcony with sun chairs and stunning views to help guests unwind.

Each loft measures 545 square feet (51 square meters) or larger when combined, and is fitted in contemporary décor with a Caribbean influence. The design includes an upper-level bedroom that overlooks the living area below and extended ocean views. Beds are outfitted with white, luxurious duvets complemented by tropical blue and green accents that tie in to the loft's natural surroundings. The lofts feature LCD televisions, separate vanity areas, a guest bathroom downstairs and master bathroom upstairs featuring his and her shower heads, fog-free mirrors, and limestone mosaic tile accents.

Two Level Royal Loft Suite

The Royal Loft suites are larger and more luxurious than the 25 Crown Loft suites.

The exclusive Royal Loft Suite is available to accommodate groups of six. The Royal Loft Suite is the largest of all lofts onboard Oasis of the Seas. Spanning 1,524 sq. ft. (141 sq. m.), it will feature its own Baby Grand piano, indoor and outdoor dining rooms that seat eight, private wet bar, a library and extended 843-square-foot (78.3-square-meter) balcony with its own LCD television, entertainment area and Jacuzzi. The Royal Loft Suite has the ability to connect to a Crown Loft Suite for additional room to accommodate a total of ten guests, providing 2,069 sq. ft. (192 sq. m.) of space.

Zipline over the boardwalk.

The zip line is suspended 9 decks above Boardwalk. Adventurers speed diagonally across the open air atrium, a distance of more than 82 feet (25 meters).

Zip lines are popular activities ashore and on the Oasis of the Seas.

AquaTheater at Night

The AquaTheater will feature professional diving and theatrical performances.

Balcony Cabins Overlooking the Boardwalk

Six AquaTheater Suites, 221 Boardwalk-view balcony staterooms, and eight Boardwalk-view window staterooms overlook the Boardwalk of the Oasis of the Seas .

Carousel and Zipline on the Boardwalk

The Oasis of the Seas Sea Carousel is the centerpiece of the Boardwalk.

Specially hand-crafted for Royal Caribbean from poplar wood, the full-sized, traditional carousel features 21 figures suspended from stainless steel poles, showcasing a menagerie of animals such as zebras, giraffes and lions, alongside a variety of hand-painted horses, including a princess horse and a crowned frog prince. The lead horse, customarily the fanciest horse of the carousel, is adorned with Royal Caribbean logos, and a single chariot serves as a stationary seat for two.

Central Park

The center of the Oasis of the Seas opens to the sky at Central Park.

Central Park features lush, tropical grounds spanning more than the length of a football field. This neighborhood is a public gathering place featuring serene pathways, seasonal flower gardens and canopy trees.

Exterior View

Rising tide on the royal promenade.

The Rising Tide Bar on the Oasis of the Seas spans three decks and allow cruisers to enjoy a cocktail as they slowly descend from Central Park to the Royal Promenade.

Royal Promenade

The Oasis of the Seas was launched in November 2009. This is an artist's rendering of the Royal Promenade, which is an interior hub of activity.

Here are some actual pictures of the Royal Promenade and other interiors of the cruise ship..

Royal Promenade and Crystal Canopies

The Oasis of the Seas Royal Promenade is much like on the Voyager and Freedom-class ships, but has some new, surprising enhancements such as the Crystal Canopies on the roof.

The Oasis of the Seas Boardwalk is an outdoor area aft on deck 6. Designed to look like a seaside pier, the Boardwalk has activities and dining venues for all ages, especially family groups.

Lounges and Bars

Cruise passengers expect the humongous  Oasis of the Seas  to have numerous bars and lounges for partying and socializing. The ship does not disappoint. There are numerous bars and lounges scattered all around the ship, from the tranquil Solarium Bar forward on deck 16 to the numerous party lounges in Entertainment Place on deck 4.

Aqua Theater

The 700-seat Oasis of the Seas Aqua Theater is found on deck 6, at the aft end of the Oasis of the Sea's Boardwalk, one of seven neighborhoods on the ship.

The Oasis of the Seas has at least 11 different types of balcony, outside, and interior cabins. The world's largest cruise ship also has 10 different suite categories. All cabins include twin beds that can be converted into a queen, and a bath room with shower (curved shower door, no curtain), toilet, small sink, and shelves for storage.

The Central Park neighborhood on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas cruise ship is a beautiful outdoor park area located midship on deck 8. Flanked on both sides by 324 inward-facing balcony staterooms overlooking the park, shady Central Park features winding pathways, flower gardens, quiet seating, and tropical trees.

Dining Venues

The Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas has many diverse dining venues. Of course, with 6,000 passengers, it is important to have lots of options!

The Oasis of the Seas is a beautiful cruise ship, filled with interesting interior public rooms.

In addition to the 2,540 cabins, the Oasis of the Seas has 80 regular suites and 86 junior suites.

Adventure Ocean and Youth Zone

The Oasis of the Seas has 28,000 square feet dedicated to children and teens.

Royal Caribbean International (RCI) is a US passenger shipping company, trademarked travel brand and subsidiary owned by Royal Caribbean Group (RCG/shipowner). RCI was established in 1968 and currently has over 1/5 of the worldwide cruise market. RCI also has RCG's largest fleet by both vessel number and GT tonnage (ship sizes and capacities).

All RCI liners have names ending with "of the Seas".

The 5600-passenger ship Oasis OTS is one of the largest cruise liners in the world . Oasis has been the most anticipated newbuild since Cunard's Queen Mary 2 . Her innovations, such as the first-ever Boardwalk and Central Park at sea, are already legendary. Innovations on Oasis of the Seas are, by no means, limited to passenger-friendly advances. Royal Caribbean also introduced a number of new technical and environmental tools which allow the cruise to be more efficient and eco-responsible.

Slide mats are coloured in black, each with an opening for the feet and a strap to hold on to. Follows the vertical drop (27-degree) some 92 ft / 28 m down to the Boardwalk. Oasis Of The Seas Wiki

Oasis OTS is Royal Caribbean's first Oasis-Class liner, with sisterships Allure , Harmony , Symphony and Wonder . Oasis-class currently represents the world's biggest passenger ship design, however, Oasis OTS happened to be the smallest in this series - although with just 50 mm (~2 inches) shorter than Allure. There was a competition for proposing the best name for the hulls of both vessels. The sister hulls were named at a dual ceremony in May 2008.

The vessel was completed on October 28, 2009, by STX Europe (Finland) - a division of the South Korean multinational STX (shipbuilding corporation). At its arrival in the USA, right before it docked at homeport Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) , the vessel had to pass under the Danish bridge Great Belt Fixed Link. This was challenging as the bridge is 65 m (213 ft) higher than sea level while ship's highest point is normally 72 m (236 ft) above sea level. But it made it - due to its telescoping funnels, with only 0,6 m 2 ft) to spare when passing under the bridge!

The cruise liner has an impressive number of 7 godmothers. Each of the "good ladies" symbolized one of the ship's 7 different neighbourhoods. The naming ceremony took place at Port Everglade, on December 5, 2009.

On November 4, 2016, world's 3 largest cruise ships - Harmony, Allure and Oasis - convened off Florida's coast. The unique event was live streamed officially by RCI, starting at approx 5 pm EST. The meeting at open sea coincided with the Harmony's arrival at Port Everglades (her US homeport), finishing a 13-night Transatlantic repositioning cruise from Barcelona to Florida (Oct 23 - Nov 5). The following aerial photo shows an Oasis-class vessel (as looked from above).

No kidding: These 12 cruises are the perfect multigenerational family vacation option

T he launch of Disney Cruise Line in 1998 was a game changer for family cruises. Now in its third decade of operation, Disney Cruise Line consistently tops the list of best cruise lines for families. And its newest ship (for now), Disney Wish , is unquestionably one of the best cruise ships for kids ever made. But Disney isn't the only major player in the family cruising space.

A host of other cruise lines, including Carnival Cruises , Princess , Norwegian , MSC , and Royal Caribbean , have helped usher in a new era of family vacations on cruise ships with amenities like kids clubs, water parks, stage shows, theatrical dining experiences, reduced fares for young children, and even kids sail free deals . And because the best cruise ships for kids are also great for grownups , you have plenty of options when it comes to the best family cruises.

NO HIDDEN FEES: 7 best all-inclusive cruise lines in the world

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

1. Disney Wish

Disney Cruise Line

The sheer volume of onboard entertainment options for families on Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, Disney Wish , takes things to a whole new level. From action-packed dinner-and-a-show experiences like Worlds of Marvel and Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure to the Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge , and Incredibles-themed inflatable obstacle course , you'll never run out of things to do.

BIG SAVINGS: Kids sail free: 7 cruise lines with kids cruise free deals this year

Sailings on the Disney Wish also include a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay , which is always a highlight of any family cruise. Castaway Cay’s family beach is a great place for swimming, and you can rent bikes, kayaks, and snorkeling gear to see colorful tropical fish and perhaps even a sea turtle munching on seagrass.

2. Disney Magic

While every ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet has a claim to be among the best family cruises, the original DCL family cruise ship deserves a special mention: Disney Magic is the ship that launched Disney Cruise Line in 1998, and with DCL's constant improvements and upkeep, the ship doesn’t feel outdated at all. Pirates, princesses, superheroes, and a thrilling water slide with a three-story drop are just a few of the fun features that make this a kid-favorite ship on one of the best cruise lines for families. In 2013, Disney added the AquaDunk high-speed thrill slide and Marvel Avengers Academy kids club. In 2018, a Tangled dinner theater restaurant made its debut.

WATER WORLDS: 50 best cruise ship water parks for kids and tweens

As one of the smaller ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, Disney Magic can be a less overwhelming experience for younger kids and first-time cruisers, especially given the trend among family cruises to be bigger and louder with every new ship. (The fabulous Disney Wonder is similarly sized.) But there's more than one reason to consider a Disney Magic voyage in 2024. This year, the ship will be the first to sail to Disney Cruise Line’s newest private island destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point , in the Bahamas.

3. Disney Treasure

Making its debut in December 2024, Disney Cruise Line's sixth ship will be called Disney Treasure and it will be the ship for fans of the Disney theme parks. Venues inspired by classic attractions such as the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea are among the highlights to look forward to when the ship sets sail. The sister ship of Disney Wish will also have a high-tech Worlds of Marvel dinner show and a theater-in-the-round dining experience, this time themed to Pixar’s Coco.

CAPTAIN MICKEY: 7 best Disney cruises for families in 2024

Disney Treasure will also feature a brand-new original Broadway-style production called "Disney The Tale of Moana" in the Walt Disney Theatre. Other shows performed on board will include "Beauty and the Beast" and "Disney Seas the Adventure." Best of all, Disney Treasure will sail seven-night itineraries to both the Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean. That means you can enjoy two distinct dinner shows in the Worlds of Marvel and Plaza de Coco restaurants, and all of the Broadway-style shows on stage during one family cruise.

4. Icon of the Seas

Royal Caribbean

A brand-new class of ship is heading to North America in 2024, and it starts with Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas in January. Among the many firsts for Icon of the Seas is the AquaDome, the largest glass and steel structure on any cruise ship, seven pools, six record-breaking waterslides, eight separate neighborhoods, 40 ways to drink and dine, four stages, and a three-level ultimate family townhouse. The innovative AquaDome is a peaceful oasis during the day and a vibrant hotspot at night with a 55-foot-tall water curtain and AquaTheater that debuts performances with divers, skateboarders, and robots.

FAMILY CRUISES: 5 best cruise ships to entertain your teen

Thrill-seekers will love Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea with six waterslides. There's also the Crown’s Edge, which is part skywalk, part ropes course, and 100 percent thrill ride where you can dangle 154 feet above the ocean. And, of course, you'll also find the Royal Caribbean staple FlowRider surf simulator and the Lost Dunes mini golf course. Those looking to take it easy should head to Chill Island, which features four pools spread over three decks with sweeping ocean views.

Fans of Royal Caribbean will enjoy the Royal Promenade with 15 restaurants, bars, and lounges; Central Park's open-air neighborhood filled with live plants and trees; and Surfside, the first neighborhood designed specifically for young families. The ship's seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean family cruises all stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay , the line’s award-winning private island. Families will find an array of activities on Perfect Day at CocoCay, such as its beaches and freshwater pool (included) and an expansive water park and zip line (available for an extra charge).

5. Wonder of the Seas

Royal Caribbean's Oasis-class ships debuted in early 2022 and instantly ignited buzz that they might be the most kid-friendly cruise ships in the entire world. At 1,188 feet long and 18 decks tall, there's plenty of room for families to spread out and find entertainment onboard the Wonder of the Seas . Two dedicated private teen spaces onboard make vacationing with teenagers a little easier. In fact, teens aged 16 and up can even enjoy a massive teens-only hot tub that literally protrudes over the edge of the ship on Wonder of the Seas' deck 15.

SCENIC VOYAGES: Everything you need to know about river cruises in the USA

Grade school kids and even the littlest ones have it pretty great, too. For big kids, there’s an enormous multiple-deck play area called Wonder Playscape . For the youngest passengers, there's the Adventure Ocean play area full of soft toys and games for toddlers. And a playground with climbing equipment gives them a space to work off their energy. Wonder of the Seas also has the most amazing family suites around. They come complete with two levels of space, an in-suite slide, table tennis, and plenty of room for the whole family.

6. Oasis of the Seas

When it launched in 2009, Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas was the largest ship in the world, accommodating more than 5,500 passengers per voyage and cementing the line's place among the best cruise lines for families. After a reimagining 10 years later, Oasis of the Seas is still a popular option for family cruises in 2024 with its Caribbean-inspired pool deck, rock climbing walls, and Perfect Storm trio of multistory waterslides. Among the many reasons that make Royal Caribbean one of the best cruise lines for families is that its Symphony of the Seas builds upon the strengths of the line’s other Oasis Class ships.

7. Norwegian Viva

Norwegian Cruise Line

What makes Norwegian one of the best cruise lines for families? For one thing, you’ll never hear "I’m bored" from kids. And with its three-story race track, two escape rooms, The Rush and The Drop dry slides, The Wave waterslide, immersive virtual reality games, Topgolf simulator, mini golf, waterpark, splash ground, and kids’ clubs, your family’s biggest problem on the Norwegian Viva might just be deciding how to balance all the activities with quiet relaxation.

GO ALL IN: These 6 cruise lines offer the best themed cruises

The Norwegian Viva arrived in North America in December 2023 and offers Caribbean cruises from San Juan, Puerto Rico, in early 2024 before heading to Europe through November. The ship's Observation Lounge has panoramic 180-degree views to soak in the scenery or take Insta-worthy photos on Oceanwalk’s glass walkway. After playing the day away in port or on the ship, your family can enjoy dinner followed by a live performance of Beetlejuice: The Musical, based on the cult-classic Tim Burton film.

8. Carnival Panorama

Carnival Cruise Line

One of Carnival Cruise Line ’s newer ships, the Carnival Panorama 's many kid-friendly features have already made it one of the best cruises for families. The Panorama has supervised kids programs in three different age categories, a massive aqua park, the popular SkyRide aerial attraction, SkyCourse ropes course, and the first SkyZone trampoline park at sea.

DON'T OVERPAY: How to save money on a Carnival Cruise (with or without kids)

In addition, Carnival's exclusive partnership with Dr. Seuss Enterprises provides "Seuss at Sea" experiences on family cruise vacations, such as Dr. Seuss Bookville, Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast, and the Seuss-a-palooza Parade. Based in Los Angeles, Carnival Panorama sails week-long round-trip cruises to the Mexican Riviera in 2024.

9. Caribbean Princess

Princess Cruises

Made famous by the classic '80s TV series "The Love Boat," Princess Cruises now hosts more than two million passengers each year. Kid-friendly Caribbean Princess underwent an extensive renovation in 2017 that boosted its family offerings to include Camp Discovery Youth and Teen Center, HD Movies Under the Stars, and the Reef Family Splash Zone (the line's first splash zone at sea).

MOVIES UNDER THE STARS: 11 best outdoor movie screens for your backyard staycation

Caribbean Princess will be 20 years old in 2024, but another extensive drydock refurbishment in 2022 has kept the ship from feeling dated. Other features that earn the Caribbean Princess a spot on my list of best family cruises include its partnership with Discovery Inc. for "Discovery at SEA" activities, which feature Animal Planet and Discovery Channel programming, the Stanley the Bear experience, and JrChef@Sea cooking classes. In summer 2024, Caribbean Princess heads to Southampton for a series of European cruises before heading back to Florida.

10. MSC Meraviglia

Unless you're a hardcore cruise family, MSC Cruises might be the largest cruise line you’ve never heard of. One of the leading cruise lines in Europe, South America, and other parts of the world, MSC is working hard to get a foothold in North America by offering great deals on family cruises. These include kids ages 18 and under sailing free on select departures , and young children ages two and under always sailing free.

FIRST-TIMERS: 19 things to know before your first cruise with kids

Family-friendly MSC Meraviglia launched in 2017 and it features seven different kids’ clubs for children from babies to age 17. Teens have their own space with a cinema, game room, and live stage. And Meraviglia’s Polar Aquapark has three different waterslides, including a high-speed “champagne flute,” that easily make it one of the best cruises for families. Families can play together in the vast entertainment area that includes an MSC Formula One Racing Simulator, a full-sized bowling alley with two lanes, an interactive XD cinema, a flight simulator, and a video games arcade. There’s also a Sportsplex facility for basketball, tennis, squash, volleyball, pickleball, mini golf, and five-a-side soccer.

11. MSC Seascape

MSC Cruises

The U.S. flagship of the MSC Cruises brand, MSC Seascape was designed with families in mind and offers plenty of options for onboard entertainment. The cruise line's partnership with LEGO includes a DUPLO room for children ages three to six and a second LEGO room for kids ages seven to 11 with the opportunity to earn a LEGO Master Builder certificate. Teens have three different themed areas to engage with their peers.

BRING THE LITTLE ONES: 10 toddler-friendly vacations that are just as much fun for parents

You have to check out Robotron on these family cruises. Robotron is a robotic arm ride that sends you 173 feet above the sea, giving you a unique 360-degree view as you're moved in different directions and flipped upside down. At night, Robotron offers a personalized DJ experience where you can curate your musical journey with colors and music preferences.

MSC Seascape sails from Miami on the Bahamas and Caribbean family cruises, including a visit to MSC Cruises' private Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. Ocean Cay features two miles of white sand beaches and a variety of family-friendly activities such as snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and swimming. Some family cruises dock overnight at Ocean Cay, allowing you to watch the spectacular Lighthouse light show.

12. Celebrity Equinox

Celebrity Cruises

An upscale cruise line with prices to match, Celebrity Cruises appeals to families with older children or multigenerational groups looking for luxurious family cruises. Celebrity Equinox is not the newest ship in the line (its inaugural sailing was in 2009), but this kid-friendly cruise ship received an extensive overhaul as part of the "Celebrity Revolution" in 2019 and continues to impress with its family cruises in 2024.

COUPLES CRUISES: 7 best cruise lines for couples (and their most romantic voyages)

Celebrity's Camp at Sea kids' program offers a diverse and constantly changing series of activities so that it’s "never the same camp twice." And Celebrity Equinox partners with Miami’s Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science to offer STEM programming on topics such as the importance of plankton to the Earth’s oceans. Other kid-friendly activities on Celebrity’s family cruises include hot glass blowing classes and demonstrations, as well as lawn games such as croquet and bocce on the real grass of the Lawn Club.

Utopia of the Seas guide: Everything we know about Royal Caribbean's newest Oasis Class cruise ship

Kristy Tolley

Launching July 22, Utopia of the Seas is part of Royal Caribbean 's beloved Oasis Class series of ships. The fact that Royal Caribbean is launching an Oasis Class ship on the heels of the much-touted debut of Icon of the Seas — the bigger, newer Icon Class of ships — is a testament to the popularity of Oasis Class vessels.

Larger than its sister ship, Wonder of the Seas, Utopia will be the world's second-largest cruise ship (until the second Icon Class ship, Star of the Seas, steals that spot in 2025).

Royal Caribbean hopes to draw a new crowd of never-cruised-before travelers by focusing on short three- and four-night itineraries that allow folks to sample cruising without too much of a commitment. It's the first time the line has earmarked a new Oasis Class ship for short-cruise service from its beginning. When it debuts, Utopia of the Seas will be far bigger, newer and more amenity-packed than any other cruise ship sailing short itineraries in North America.

From new restaurants and bars to announced itineraries, here's everything we know so far about Utopia of the Seas.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Overview of Utopia of the Seas

oasis of the seas cruise ship pictures

The 237,000-ton Utopia of the Seas will be 18 decks high and is expected to carry up to 6,700 passengers in 2,830 cabins, placing it just behind Icon of the Seas as the world's second-biggest cruise ship.

Utopia of the Seas will be the sixth vessel in Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class of ships, which includes Oasis of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas , Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas.

Related: The ultimate guide to Royal Caribbean cruise ships and itineraries

It will sail a series of three- to four-night cruises to the Bahamas from Florida's Port Canaveral (near Orlando). All of the Utopia of the Seas sailings will include a stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay , Royal Caribbean's private island in the Bahamas. Fares for a three-night sailing start from $469 per person (excluding taxes and fees).

Like other Royal Caribbean vessels, Utopia of the Seas will teem with family-focused attractions like multiple pool areas, a kiddie splash zone, surfing simulators, a zip line and a two-story dry slide called the Ultimate Abyss. And that's just on the top decks.

Inside, you'll find an extensive selection of shops, as well as new and returning favorite restaurants and bars, a massive casino, an indoor ice-skating rink and theaters with Broadway-style shows. It will also feature a designated suite area with an exclusive lounge, restaurant and sun deck. With so much to do on board, your biggest challenge might be hitting all the activities on your to-do list on a three- or four-night sailing.

Related: The 7 classes of Royal Caribbean cruise ships, explained

Utopia of the Seas' design and layout will mirror the line's last new Oasis Class ship, Wonder of the Seas, launched in 2022. Like other Oasis Class vessels, the ship will feature individual "neighborhoods," each with its unique vibe. The Royal Promenade will be the ship's main thoroughfare, lined with shops, restaurants, cafes, nightclubs and bars. Also, leafy Central Park will be reprised on Utopia.

Entertainment venues like the casino and comedy club will be in the aptly named Entertainment Place, and the vessel will also feature the exclusive Suite Neighborhood for suite passengers.

Other neighborhoods include The Boardwalk — where you'll find the AquaTheater and Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade — and the Pool & Sports Zone — complete with an expansive Caribbean-themed pool deck and a three-story Lime and Coconut bar. The Youth Zone (with a for-fee arcade and youth activity programming) and the Vitality Spa & Fitness area round out the list.

Utopia of the Seas cabins and suites

oasis of the seas cruise ship pictures

Utopia of the Seas will feature 2,830 cabins and suites, with more than 20 types of accommodations to suit every budget and group size. They include inside (windowless) cabins, ocean-view cabins and balcony cabins. Cruisers can choose from varied suite options, including the new posh Solarium Suites, exclusively on Utopia of the Seas.

The ship will also offer virtual balconies in select inside cabins. These accommodations will include 80-inch LED TVs that provide live views from outside the ship.

Royal Caribbean debuted the concept of interior-facing balconies with its Oasis Class vessels. On Utopia of the Seas, guests will also have the option to book a traditional balcony that faces the ocean or one overlooking the Boardwalk or Central Park.

The line's Royal Suite Class comprises three categories of suites — Star, Sky and Sea. All come with VIP perks such as a dedicated lounge area for suite guests, complimentary drinks and dining, personal concierge services via a Royal Genie, reserved pool deck seating and other amenities. Which perks you get depends on your suite tier.

Within the highest Star tier of suites (and exclusive to Utopia of the Seas), two expansive Solarium Suites will be perched above the ship's navigation bridge, providing spectacular 280-degree top-deck views. Each will feature a huge living room, a dining area and an infinite balcony. The infinite balcony technology, which Royal Caribbean debuted on Icon of the Seas, allows guests to lower a large window at the touch of a button to let fresh air into their room.

Other Royal Suite Class accommodations include the 1,500-square-foot, two-level Royal Loft Suite; it has a lofted master bedroom, a massive living room and a private balcony with an outdoor shower, hot tub, TV and minibar.

Additionally, the three-bedroom Ultimate Family Suite can accommodate up to 10 guests and features a slide from the upper level to the lower one. It has a private cinema and karaoke station, a balcony with a ping pong table and a private hot tub. The two-bedroom AquaTheater Suites allow guests to watch AquaTheater productions from their personal balconies.

Utopia of the Seas restaurants and bars

oasis of the seas cruise ship pictures

Utopia of the Seas will offer more than 20 restaurant and bar options, with a solid mix of included-in-fare and extra-fee specialty dining venues. Here is what you can expect on board.

Restaurants

The following dining options are included in your fare:

The Dining Room: The multilevel main dining space will serve multicourse meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Windjammer Cafe: As on other Royal Caribbean ships, the buffet-style restaurant will be the go-to for varied breakfast, lunch and dinner options.

Solarium Bistro: Passengers can opt for healthful, lighter fare like salads, soups and fresh fruit.

The Spare Tire: Debuting on Utopia of the Seas, this food truck-style eatery will be found poolside and feature sandwiches, flatbread and various desserts.

Coastal Kitchen: Suites guests and Royal Caribbean's top-tier Pinnacle loyalty program members will have exclusive access to this space, serving California and Mediterranean fusion dishes.

Sorrento's Pizza: Curb pie cravings day or night at Royal Caribbean's popular pizza parlor .

Other spots to fuel up for free will include El Loco Fresh for fast-casual Mexican fare; Sprinkles for serve-yourself ice cream; Boardwalk Dog House for hotdogs, sausages and brats; and Park Cafe for coffee, tea and pastries.

Here is a rundown of added-fee specialty dining available on Utopia of the Seas.

Royal Railway — Utopia Platform: While full details are still under wraps, the new Royal Railway — Utopia Station restaurant will use technology to virtually transport guests to different places and times. After enjoying pre-dinner drinks on the station platform, guests will "board" the train and enjoy a multicourse dinner.

150 Central Park: This upscale restaurant offers six- to eight-course tasting menus and is only on Oasis Class ships. Dishes here highlight locally sourced ingredients, some prepared tableside.

Chef's Table: This private, five-course wine pairing dinner is hosted by the executive chef and onboard sommelier.

Chops Grille & Trellis Bar: You'll find the same flavorful steaks, fresh seafood and extensive wine selection at this version of Royal Caribbean's marquee steakhouse. On Utopia, the venue will be attached to the signature Trellis Bar, perfect for a convenient pre-dinner cocktail.

oasis of the seas cruise ship pictures

Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar: As on other ships, this popular Italian eatery will feature homemade pasta and fresh seafood, as well as a solid selection of wines. New to Utopia, the venue will span two floors. Guests can opt to dine alfresco on the restaurant's outside terrace overlooking The Boardwalk at the line's first Gio's Terrazza.

Izumi Hibachi & Sushi and Izumi in the Park: Guests can opt for a multicourse meal and entertainment in a private dining setting or grab fresh sushi and Japanese-inspired sweets at Izumi in the Park's walk-up restaurant.

Hooked Seafood: Serving New England-style seafood, Hooked will be the spot for Maine lobster rolls, crabcakes, oysters and other fresh seafood.

Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade : Like its predecessors on other Royal Caribbean vessels, this popular sports bar perfectly pairs pub grub with arcade games.

Related: Playmakers: Royal Caribbean's cruise ship sports bar (with menu)

The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar: This popular venue is a returning favorite for Southern comfort food and live music .

Johnny Rockets: This popular added-fee ($12.99) spot is worth its weight in golden french fries (and burgers , onion rings and milkshakes).

Vitality Cafe and Starbucks are other added-fee venues on board.

oasis of the seas cruise ship pictures

With more than 20 bars and lounges, passengers on board Utopia of the Seas will have plenty of ways to celebrate a long weekend at sea. Here are some to look forward to.

Pesky Parrot: This new Caribbean-themed bar will replace the Bionic Bar on the Royal Promenade. The low-key venue will serve frozen drinks and fruit-based cocktails.

The Lime and Coconut: This lively Caribbean-themed pool deck bar will expand to a three-deck-high venue.

The Vue: The Vue first debuted on Wonder of the Seas. Adjacent to the ship's solarium, the bar is unique because it's cantilevered over the ship's side.

Add to the list returning venues like the aforementioned Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade for gameday bar favorites and drinks; Schooner Bar, the line's classic piano bar; the English pub, Bell and Barley; Boleros, the line's signature Latin bar where you can enjoy live salsa, samba and merengue music; and the romantic Giovanni's Wine Bar.

Utopia of the Seas activities

oasis of the seas cruise ship pictures

With several returning favorites and a few new or updated attractions, the newest Oasis Class vessel will be packed with onboard diversions.

Get your fill of fun in the sun with five onboard pools. Find the vibe you seek, with options ranging from the tranquil adults-only Solarium Pool to the bustling Lido Deck pool area with three pools and 11 whirlpools.

Younger cruisers will have a blast at the Splashaway Bay water park complete with slides, fountains, sprinklers and water cannons.

Out of the water, passengers can test their mettle on Utopia's 259-foot-long Ultimate Abyss slide. It's a Wonder of the Seas holdover — with an upgrade. The slide is 43 feet longer than previous iterations, making it the longest dry slide at sea.

The ship will also feature the signature FlowRider surf simulator, a 10-story-high zip line, a rock climbing wall and Utopia Playscape climbing structure and play area.

On Utopia of the Seas, passengers can choose to play at the main Casino Royale or a separate nonsmoking room. Casino Royale will offer about 30 table games and more than 370 slot machines.

The ship's Vitality Spa & Fitness will offer body- and soul-soothing treatments and ample opportunities to up your fitness game.

Enjoy live music at various venues throughout the ship, including Boleros and Music Hall (or make your own music at Spotlight Karaoke). The Attic also returns as the go-to place for nightly comedy shows.

We Sailed on a 7day cruise for Spring break March 31/April 7th 2024. My family and I enjoy cruises and this was one of our top 3 as well as our 2nd Oasis class ship. At this time the Wonder is the 2nd largest cruise ship with The Icon being the 1st. Utopia will arrive soon and take over being #1 as the largest cruise ship. The 3 ports we visited were Cococay bahamas/St Thomas/St Maarten. There is so much to do while on board, along with nightly shows with one of my favorites being (Voices). So much food on here my favorite included dining options: Sorentos pizza/ Park cafe which I went everyday for the panini sandwiches. We did a specialty dining package that included dinners outside of the main dining room. My favorite specialty dining was Chops grille/ Izumi Sushi / Mason jar which had some amazing blackened catfish. We tried all of the specialty dining restaurants some more than once. I will say that Hooked Seafood wasn't our favorite out of all of them, but our waiter DIOG tried everything he could to find something we would enjoy eating. Once he brought out the lobster my husband was much happier. I did end up having a clam chowder and fish/chips that was just ok, but we never went back after that. Our Cabin was 12th floor with Oceanview Balcony and our Sons had the Central Park Balcony which they enjoyed. What I like is that our sons had so much to do and My husband and I were able to Just enjoy on board what we liked, from the casino, bars lounges. The staff on board was very friendly/helpful our cabin was always restocked and cleaned daily. We are discussing now if we will go on Icon next or if we will just wait on Utopia. Just thinking, did I miss anything hmm... Just go and enjoy an oasis class cruise if you can!!!!

Went on the Wonder of the Seas in December for a honeymoon with my wife. The ship was ALOT of fun. Tons to do, and lots of different activities to do for all age groups. The weather caused some adjustments to the course and the plans but it still held up, and the trip was really perfect for our honeymoon. Leaving the port to get to our Disney hotel was a bit of a scramble, but that isn't much of the ship's fault. Overall, GREAT service, GREAT ship, and GREAT FUN! Now to the Denver omelet review: When going on a cruise, they have omelet stations available where there is a chef who takes an order for you and you pick it up once they are done cooking it. I (of course) had to taste test the masterpiece of a breakfast meal: the Denver Omelet. I ordered my Denver Omelet with confidence and then sat and waited for my buzzer to go off so I could pick up the freshly made omelet. I got my hot plate of goodness and sat down to try it. Oil base, but kind of felt like a cheaper olive oil, and a little bit too much for my taste. Eggs tasted pretty standard, not overwhelmingly good or bad. Ingredients mixed well into the omelet, including the cheese, which isn't standard for Denver Omelet Etiquette. Ingredients tasted good, not extremely fresh or outstandingly flavorful, but good. A little flakey on the sides of the egg, but held its taste well. Small portion but satisfied the craving enough to be okay. Overall: a middle-of-the-pack omelet. Not too shabby. Denver Omelet score: 5.7/10

Having sailed on various Oasis-class ships, including Independence and Navigator, Wonder of the Seas unquestionably stole the spotlight as our favorite. The meticulous attention to detail and elevated amenities, especially in places like Giovanni's Wine Bar, truly set this ship apart. While I won't delve into every detail, the seven-day cruise with my wife and 23-year-old daughter left us thoroughly impressed. The ship's design and service exceeded our expectations, and we found ourselves enamored with how flawlessly everything ran. As a veteran, a standout moment for me was when the Captain paid a touching tribute to veterans on board, delivering a heartfelt poem. This added a special and meaningful touch to our journey. Remaining loyal to Royal Caribbean has been an easy choice, and Wonder of the Seas has only solidified my dedication. From the seamless execution of the seven-day cruise to the memorable tribute to veterans, every aspect contributed to an unforgettable experience. This ship is a testament to why I proudly maintain my Diamonds Loyalty to Royal Caribbean.

An absolutely great experience for the whole family. We cruised on Wonder in April of 2023 with a group of 7 (ages 3-70) and had the best time! While the ship is really geared towards families and kids, there is so much to do for adults traveling without kids (or while the kids are at the kid center!). We all loved the activities included and absolutely adored all of the shows. The aqua theater show is a MUST see. If you have multiple rooms, I highly recommend neighboring balcony rooms, as the steward can remove the partitions between the balconies even if they aren't adjoining rooms. We didn't do any specialty dining and were thoroughly satisfied with the food. You have to understand on a cruise that the food is going to be good but not five star formal, they are cooking for thousands and thousands! We loooved Park Cafe for quick grab and go breakfasts/snacks, and would even take sandwiches from there to the stateroom fridge for excursion days or just to have. The bar at The Mason Jar is an absolute gem! Amazing and unique drinks with live music at all times. You do not need reservations to eat there to enjoy the bar (same goes for all specialty restaurants). Perfect Day at Coco Cay is truly that--perfect! You do not need to purchase any specialty excursions or passes to have a great day on this island. Also, it could have been the drink package talking, but truly one of the best beach cheeseburgers I've ever experienced! If you're thinking about cruising on Wonder, do it!

I'm generally not a cruiser, but if you're looking to relax and getaway with your family, the Wonder of the Seas is a good option! Presently the worlds largest cruise ship, they have over 7000 guests. The only time the number of people felt a bit overwhelming was on-boarding and disembarking. Use the app to help navigate around the ship and to see what's going on - you can also communicate with other guests (even without buying the internet package). The pool area was fun, and they have an adults section if you don't want to be around kids. The slides are pretty intense- the blue and yellow are pitch dark which I didn't like! The orange one is very fast. I didn't go down the purple "Abyss" dry slide. We got the BOGO deluxe drink package which was good if you are looking to let loose a little. A cocktail was $14, beer/seltzer was about $7.49, and wine was $12/glass otherwise. The Johnny Rockets shakes and Vitality Smoothie bar were good too! The shows were good - I especially liked the water and ice shows. The silent disco was one of our favourite parts too! The repetitive songs at the discos was often PAINFUL - soldja boi, wobble, teach me how to dougie etc. it made me wonder if they have limited contracts on what they're allowed to play ??? The ambiance is fun, colourful, and family friendly, but they do have restaurants that are more upscale. We did the Chef's table and Steakhouse restaurants that were additional $. The Chef's table isn't very private as it is located in the Solarium Bistro (buffet) dining area. Apparently other ships have a better space for private dining. The food was pretty good all throughout, and the wait staff were all friendly and passionate about what they do. Special shout-out to Mukesh and Rey for making sure our bellies were always full! I (sadly) worked remote for the duration of this cruise because I couldn't get the time off. I couldn't participate in all the activities, but I can say the internet (Voom/ StarLink) was incredible and it was just as good as if I were at home. Cruises are definitely a cash cow, lots of shopping, and many events felt like they had a hidden agenda to get more money out of you. Purses, watches, jewelry, next cruise planning, the casino etc. I've experienced this on other cruises, so I guess it's just the norm of the industry these days, sadly. But if that's your thing, enjoy!

Currently the largest cruise ship in the world. However, when the Icon 9"of the Seas comes out next year this will be the second largest cruise ship in the world. I've cruised three times on this ship. Must see & Do: Eat and drink at The Mason Jar. The watermelon feta salad is awesome. There's also a live band: The Country Crew Trio worth listening to even if you don't like county music. Definitely Watch the Aqua show. This is the best out of all Aqua shows on all Royal Caribbean ships. The drone work in the Effector show in the theatre is a sight to see. One week is not long enough to explore and to do everything on this ship. If you can, do a back to back sailing.

Love this ship, family fun for everyone.. only thing lacking was the kids club. Counselors were not engaging and the space wasn't inviting. Both of my kids never wanted to be there (3 and 17). MDR was alright, it was a hit and miss, depending on what you ordered. ( I took the galley tour and it was informative. Hands down have even more appreciation for what they do back there.) Room attendant was awesome always engaging with the kids when ever we cross paths. My son fell asleep mid day and he came to find me. So I could check on him. Making sure he was ok. (Kid was having too much fun and lack of sleep finally got to him lol) over all I enjoyed the this ship.
