Lisa and Jayne founded LJ Travel in December 2006 operating from an office in Borough Green High Street. Within a couple of years their business had outgrown the premises therefore a move was needed. For the next 10 years they had the travel agency in Western Road where they were joined by both Karen and Tracy. In 2017 the business was moved once again back to the High Street where they continue to grow from strength to strength. 

With over 100 years combined experience, the team are still passionate about their industry and will always endeavour to provide the best possible experience when booking that well deserved holiday.

We are independent travel agents which allows us to look at tour operators that we feel will offer the best level of service. Nowadays we can all go online to book & arrange our travel, but people like having the comfort & re-assurance of booking with a specialist. There are of course other reasons why travel specialists, like ourselves still exist.

We love travel & we love our clients to enjoy the destinations that we offer. Like everywhere, there are certain times of year that are good & some are bad. We can look at this for you & advise on where to go & where not to.

We believe that our prices are comparable to those that you could find & book online, with the added benefit to our clients that we are fully bonded, so if anything goes wrong with your hotel or airline such as financial failure, you are fully protected against this.

You will of course have questions throughout the booking process and during the time between booking & departure. We are always available to answer any queries you may have.

We are small & we care. We like to build long term relationships with our clients so that we get to know them and their travel preferences and they get to know and trust us.

Price Comparison

Holiday prices can vary substantially between tour operators for a variety of reasons, but it is our belief we offer some of the best prices available to the destinations that we offer. If, however, you find this is not the case, please do let us know before you book elsewhere.

With L J Travel you can rest assured that if the worst should happen your holiday or money paid for it is fully protected.

We act as agent on behalf of various Tour Operators, mainly who are ATOL protected with the Civil Aviation Authority. Not all holiday or travel services offered and sold by us will be protected by the ATOL Scheme. Please ask us to confirm what protection may apply to your booking. We are also bonded members of the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) and as such must abide by a very strict code of conduct. We strongly recommend checking www.abta.com when choosing a company to book your travel arrangements and verify that they are listed.

My passion for travel started at the age of 11 with my first overseas adventure visiting my dad whilst he was working in Jordan.

From that moment I knew what I wanted to do when I left school!

My career in travel started in September 1984 and since then I have had so many opportunities to visit some amazing counties.

I don’t think I could single out one place but high on my favourites would probably have to be the Seychelles, Safari, San Francisco, Italy and the Greek Islands.

My wish list is a long one! At some point I would love to be able to visit Canada, New Zealand and much more of Europe!

Each and every day is different and after 38 years I still thoroughly enjoy the work I do!

I have always enjoyed travelling and exploring new places so looking for a career change, travel seemed the obvious choice for me.

Having come from a banking background it was a big change but so enjoyable. 

Helping people to realise their holiday/travel dreams is so rewarding. 

I have been very fortunate to have had many holidays from trips to Florida with all the family to skiing, touring trips of Europe, cruising, boating & villa holidays. I have also been to Iceland, Vietnam & Laos, Safari in Kenya and had lovely relaxing holidays in Mauritius, Greece & Turkey. 

There are still so many places I would like to visit with South Africa & Canada at the top of my wish list.

Now that I have grandchildren I have reduced my working hours in the office to enjoy them and do more travelling.  Work/ life balance is so important!

I wanted to work in a bank when I left school so was quite surprised when my first job was in a Travel Agency, first of all selling package holidays then moving on to business travel where I looked after trade delegations around the world.

SpaceX to Shut Off Starlink Access for Users Outside Availability Areas

S paceX is preparing to shut down Starlink for customers using the satellite internet service in countries outside its official "availability" zones. 

On Tuesday, the company sent an email to users in Africa, where Starlink is still waiting to receive regulatory approval in several countries, including Zimbabwe and South Africa. 

"If you are operating your Starlink Kit in an area other than areas designated as 'Available' on the Starlink Availability Map , we would like to remind you that this is in violation of the Starlink Terms," SpaceX wrote in the email . 

The company plans to shut down access for affected users on April 30. Users will then "be unable to connect to the internet except to access your Starlink account where you can make updates to your account," the message adds. 

The email comes days after Zimbabwe's government asked SpaceX to shut down all unauthorized Starlink use in the country until the company receives full license approval.

SpaceX is preparing to close a loophole consumers have long used to access Starlink in markets where it hasn't officially launched: Starlink Roam , which debuted as an internet solution for travelers but works in regions worldwide, including Africa. In Tuesday’s email, however, SpaceX notes that these "Mobile - Regional" plans are intended for temporary travel and transit — not for permanent use in a location.

“If you have been using a 'Mobile - Regional' plan for more than two months outside of the country in which you ordered Starlink, you must either see Support FAQs to change your account country or return to the country in which your service was ordered. Otherwise, your service will be restricted,” the message says. 

The email goes on to say SpaceX is working as quickly as possible to obtain regulatory approvals from local governments. Still, the decision is upsetting users in Africa, where internet speeds can often be painfully slow , depending on the location. “This is so frustrating,” wrote one Facebook user based in Sudan. 

On Reddit, another added : "This is the worst news ever. My family and friends are in Sudan and there is a total communication blackout. [The] only source of internet is Starlink and now they do this." Meanwhile, others wonder if subscribing to the Starlink Roam international plan will allow them to bypass the coming restriction.

SpaceX’s email also suggests it’ll impose the restrictions on all users who’ve been operating Starlink outside the company’s availability zone. This could include Iran, where activists have been smuggling in Starlink units to help local residents receive access to an unfiltered version of the internet. In response, the Iranian government has been urging international regulators to force SpaceX to crack down. 

SpaceX didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment, making it unclear if the upcoming restriction will expand to other continents. But so far, it appears the company only sent Tuesday's email to users based in Africa.

7 of the best all-inclusive experiences to book this year, from a travel planner

• As a travel planner, my clients seem to be increasingly interested in all-inclusive trips .
• Some of my favorite luxury resorts are in Costa Rica, the Maldives, and Isla Mujeres.
• Cruises, group tours, and adults-only lodgings can also come with all-inclusive options. 

As a travel planner at Marvelous Mouse Travels , I know vacations are expensive — especially if you're looking to go somewhere this summer . But all-inclusive travel is often a great way to get the most value out of a luxury experience.

I've been on several all-inclusive vacations with my family, friends, and work, and I've helped other people book them in destinations around the world .

Here are some of the best all-inclusive experiences I'm recommending to my clients this year.

Try a split-stay vacation to see the best of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is one of the most sought-after vacations , and for good reason. It's great for both relaxation and adventure.

I recommend booking a split stay, starting at an all-inclusive resort in Guanacaste near the beach for some fun in the sun and moving to a resort near the famous Arenal Volcano for a jungle adventure.

Some of my favorite resorts in Costa Rica are the Westin Reserva Conchal and the Dreams Las Mareas. And if you're looking for an even more unique experience, check out the glorious swim-out suites with private pools at Dreams.

Baglioni Maldives is one of my favorite all-inclusive resorts.

The Maldives, a remote set of islands in the Indian Ocean, offers a plethora of resort options for couples and families, but Baglioni Maldives is my favorite.

For many in the US, getting to the islands can be daunting — there are very few direct commercial flights, and it can take almost an entire day. But it's hard to beat the country's luxury accommodations and gorgeous landscape.

The Maldives also has some of the most beautiful marine life and coveted spots for snorkeling and scuba diving.

No matter where you go, overwater bungalows are the ultimate all-inclusive splurge.

Overwater bungalows — villas standing on poles over open ocean water — are prevalent at all-inclusive resorts in destinations like the Maldives, Fiji, and Bali.

But I've also come across the luxurious accommodations at select adults-only Sandals Resorts throughout the Caribbean.

I think having a private villa on the water is the perfect way to unwind and relax.

Adults-only vacations are on the rise.

Traveling with kids can be a blast, but I also think it's important for adults to take a much-needed break on their own.

Adults-only resorts have been a total respite for me and my husband after hectic months of juggling work with our kids' school and sports schedules.

If you're looking to unwind with a partner, relax on a girls' trip, or even connect with your adult children, there are countless adults-only, all-inclusive resorts to choose from, depending on where you're looking to visit.

Some properties, including Sandals and Beaches Resorts, also offer butler service. Designated staff members can help with anything from room requests and dining reservations to cabana rentals and transportation coordination.

I upgraded to the service at my favorite adults-only spot, Le Blanc Los Cabos, and I felt totally pampered.

Isla Mujeres is pure luxury.

Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast of Cancún, is known for its crystal-clear, turquoise water and peaceful vibe. It's also home to Playa Norte, one of the best beaches in Mexico .

Impressions Isla Mujeres by Secrets is a gorgeous all-inclusive resort on the island. It offers luxury at its finest, but with only 125 rooms, it has a boutique feel.

One of my favorite features of the resort is the waterslide that leads right into the beautiful ocean.

There are plenty of all-inclusive packages at sea.

Cruising is one of the most popular vacations , whether it's an epic adventure on a Royal Caribbean Cruise, a couples-only journey on Virgin Voyages, or a regal tour of Europe on Viking River Cruises.

Although cruises aren't traditionally considered all-inclusive, with the right booking, they can have the same feel as a luxury resort.

Most cruise bookings include food, nonalcoholic drinks, and live entertainment. If you add beverage packages and excursions in advance, your trip should be fully paid for before you depart.

Book a small-group or private tour if you're looking for adventure.

Group travel is a great way to explore new places while soaking up culture and history.

Popular destinations include Italy, Japan, Costa Rica, and Alaska, and many travel companies take care of everything for you, essentially making it all-inclusive.

Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces post hit in air strike, sources say
