Matt Healy of The 1975

The 1975 have extended their global Still… At Their Very Best Tour into next year. On Thursday (Aug. 31) the Matty Healy-fronted band announced a new run of 22 UK and European dates in February and March 2024 that will include two nights at the O2 in London, as well as some of their biggest European shows ever.

Tickets for the new dates will be available through an exclusive fan presale on Sept. 6 at 10 a.m. BST, with the general on-sale kicking off on Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. BST; sign up for the fan pre-sale here. The upcoming shows will represent another run in Europe for the Very Best tour, which will continue in North America on Sept. 16 with a slot at the Music Midtown festival in Atlanta, as well as the Life Is Beautiful fest in Las Vegas on Sept. 24, followed by gigs in San Diego, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Tampa, Nashville, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Chicago, Boston, New York, Montreal, Toronto and Salt Lake City before wrapping up on Dec. 2 at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

It’s been a eventful summer on the road for Healy and the gang, with the band potentially facing a potential $2.7 million fine over Healy’s same-sex on-stage kiss at a show in Malaysia — during which he criticized the country’s anti-LGBTQ laws — which led to the group cancelling shows in Indonesia and Taiwan following the controversy. There was also a brief, rumored dalliance with Taylor Swift, that time Healy kissed a security guard in Denmark and a not-pology to rapper Ice Spice over insensitive remarks the singer made during a podcast.

The 1975 have announced the UK and Europe leg of their ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ tour for early 2024.

The band will be playing five dates in the UK, including two nights at London’s O2 Arena, in February 2024. Following these, they will then be heading to Europe for a run of some of their biggest shows out there to date, lasting until the end of March.

It has been confirmed that these will be the final shows of the cycle for their 2022 album Being Funny In A Foreign Language . A leaked DM reportedly sent by their label Dirty Hit’s head Jamie Oborne circulated on the internet earlier this week, in which it was suggested these could be The 1975’s last tour dates “for a few years”.

Tickets will be available via Exclusive Fan pre-sale on Wednesday, September 6, before going on general sale on Friday, September 8.

The band headlined Reading and Leeds for the third time in four years at the weekend and filled in for Lewis Capaldi by playing their 2013 self-titled debut in full for its 10th anniversary.

Reviewing the first night of their UK tour earlier this year, Rolling Stone UK described it as “ a game-changing arena show for the ages “.

The 1975’s new ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ tour will see the band arriving in the UK and in 2024. Between the impressive staging, high concept performance art and surprise appearances from friends, the tour has been lauded as a band truly in their prime; a claim backed up by the plethora of five-star reviews from critics. The 1975 ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ will set the bar even higher, featuring newly expanded production.

The O 2 is the first arena worldwide to announce that it will be hosting ‘carbon removed’ events, in collaboration with carbon removal experts CUR8 and sustainable event specialists A Greener Future. Over The 1975 shows, The O2 will remove over 100 tonnes of residual carbon emissions per event, thereby neutralising the carbon impact, as part of an industry-leading pilot

These pilot events will use a portfolio of carbon removal methods to physically extract the carbon generated by the events from the atmosphere and durably store it out of harm’s way – a game-changing step on the path to helping the global live events industry reach genuine net-zero.

With A Greener Future’s expertise, the venue can now predict the emissions of an event in advance of it taking place, based on expected outputs for categories including catering, travel/transport and electricity, which equates to over 100 tonnes per show for The 1975 at The O 2 .

Using this data, the cost of removing the carbon associated with the events can be folded into the existing business model. AEG Europe, alongside The O 2 arena’s hospitality partner Levy UK + Ireland, have accounted for the removal costs in their operations, while emissions for audience travel are estimated based on travel surveys and covered by a 90p investment which has been incorporated into the event ticket price.

Share with :.

The 1975 have announced their upcoming 2024 European tour dates.

The 1975 announced the details for their upcoming European tour on Thursday. The trek will begin in February and will consist of 22 dates across the continent.

The pop-rock band are set to play their biggest shows in Europe to date. The tour, titled Still... At Their Very Best, will include two back-to-back dates in London at The O2.

The trek will kick off on 9 February at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. The British band will then hit cities including Lisbon, Madrid, Paris, Oslo, Copenhagen, Berlin, Milan and more. They will then wrap up at the Palladium in Cologne, Germany on 22 March.

The new dates will follow the band's 32-date U.S. tour which will begin on 26 September in Sacramento, California and includes two sold-out shows at New York's iconic Madison Square Garden.

Where are The 1975 touring?

The 1975 will tour the US and Canada until December, before heading to Europe in February.

They will kick off the European leg of their tour in Glasgow on February 9, before heading to London.

From there, they will play shows in Manchester and Birmingham, and then Europe.

Stops on their European tour include Lisbon, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, and Oslo. The tour will end on March 22 in Cologne, Germany.

The tour is touted as being the world’s first carbon-removed gig , where the environmental cost of the production is being counteracted by investing in carbon removal which will extract the carbon generated by the band’s gig early next year.

The 02’s owner and operator AEG has said that the event will “deliver the same best-in-class experience that fans expect at The O2, but also one that’s supporting vital climate work and is better for the planet.”

Where have The 1975 been touring?

The 1975 began their At Their Very Best tour in November 2022, in the US, plus shows in Mexico and Canada.

In January 2023, they returned to Europe and played shows across the UK and Ireland.

They then toured Latin America and the Asia-Pacific, before once again returning to Europe.

Frontman Healy hit the headlines for his onstage antics, particularly for the band’s appearance at a Malaysian musical festival, which saw the singer kiss bandmate MacDonald and make a speech about homosexuality, which is illegal in Malaysia.

The band was ordered to pay £2 million in damages for allegedly breaching their contract.

Their 2024 tour is an extension of their current tour, titled Still… At Their Very Best.

The 1975 today announce new dates on the UK and Europe leg of their ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ tour in February and March 2024.

Due to phenomenal presale demand, the band have announced additional shows in Glasgow, London and Manchester. The forthcoming UK and European tour, now including three nights back to back at London’s The O2, represent the band’s biggest ever shows in Europe and will be the final shows of the ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ campaign.

Tickets for the UK and Europe tour, including the newly added dates in Glasgow, London and Manchester, go on general sale on tomorrow, Friday 8th September, at 10am BST.

The 1975’s new ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ tour will see the band play arenas across North America and Canada throughout the Autumn, including sold out shows at The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and, for the first time ever, two back-back sold out nights at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, before arriving in the UK and Europe in February and March 2024.

The band’s previous ‘At Their Very Best’ tour took in arenas across USA, Canada, UK & Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia across the last nine months with an impressive 500k+ tickets sold.

The 1975 also recently released a number of new limited edition formats of their debut album ‘The 1975’ to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the record. This includes a 4LP deluxe vinyl release containing ' The 1975' plus ‘ Facedown' EP, ‘ Sex' EP, ' Music For Cars' EP & ‘IV’ EP, plus a solid white vinyl release in gatefold sleeve, a limited edition white cassette and 2CD set containing the album plus live recording of ' The 1975' played in full live at Gorilla, Manchester earlier this year. New and classic era merchandise is also available from The 1975’s webstore.

Over the last decade, The 1975 have firmly established themselves the defining band of their generation with their distinctive aesthetic, passionate fanbase and unique sonic approach.

Released last October, the band’s fifth studio album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ was met with lavish praise, with The FACE labeling it “an album of massive tunes, pristine production and sincere romanticism” and Rolling Stone vowing the album saw the band “reassert themselves at the forefront of 2020s pop-rock”. It outsold the rest of the Top 5 combined to land the band their fifth Official UK Number 1 album in a row. The band were also crowned ‘Best Rock/Alternative Act’ at the 2023 BRIT Awards.

The 1975’s upcoming ‘Still… At Their Very Best’ tour will showcase the band’s performances in arenas across North America and Canada during Autumn. The tour includes sold-out concerts at Los Angeles’ famed Hollywood Bowl and, for the first time, two consecutive sold-out nights at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden. After this, the band will head to the UK and Europe for newly announced shows in 2024.

The band’s previous tour, ‘At Their Very Best,’ covered arenas in the USA, Canada, UK & Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia over the past nine months, selling over 500k tickets. The tour received praise for its impressive staging, innovative performance art, surprise guest appearances, and garnered numerous five-star reviews from critics. Now, with ‘Still… At Their Very Best,’ The 1975 aims to raise the bar even higher, introducing an enhanced production experience.

The 1975 recently announced several new limited-edition formats of their debut album ‘The 1975’ to commemorate its 10th anniversary. These include a 4LP deluxe vinyl release featuring ‘The 1975,’ ‘Facedown’ EP, ‘Sex’ EP, ‘Music For Cars’ EP, and ‘IV’ EP. Additionally, there will be a solid white vinyl version in a gatefold sleeve, a limited-edition white cassette, and a 2CD set containing the album along with a live recording of ‘The 1975’ performed in its entirety at Gorilla, Manchester earlier this year. The band’s webstore will also offer new and classic era merchandise, starting from tomorrow (Friday, September 1st), which was the original release date of the album in 2013.

The 1975 Announce 2024 U.K., European Tour Dates

The 1975 have announced dates for their 2024 U.K. and European “Still At Their Very Best” tour.

The schedule for the band’s biggest shows to date in Europe includes two nights at London’s O2.

The group will commence the U.K. leg with a show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on February 9 and then move on to perform at London’s O2 on February 12 and 13, followed by dates in Manchester (Feb. 18) and Birmingham (Feb. 21).

The European leg of the tour will see the band perform in Lisbon, Madrid, Paris, Oslo, Copenhagen, Berlin, Milan and more. The final concert of the tour will take place at the Palladium in Cologne, Germany, on March 22.

The 1975’s 32-date North American Tour commences on September 26th in Sacramento, California.

In an interview with NME last year around the time their Being Funny In A Foreign Language was released, The 1975 frontman Matty Healy said the “At Their Very Best” tour name was inspired by their growth as a band.

“When I made ‘A Brief Inquiry.’, we’d grown up a bit,” he said. “The idea of The 1975 continuing to grow up wasn’t a fear because it wasn’t unsexy. Now it’s kind of the sexiest thing about us. That’s why the tour is called ‘At Their Very Best.’ We’ve got our shit sorted.”

The 1975 “Still. At Their Very Best” UK & Europe 2024 tour dates:

FEBRUARY 9 – Glasgow, UK, OVO Hydro 12 – London, UK, The O2 13 – London, UK, The O2 18 – Manchester, UK, AO Arena 21 – Birmingham, UK, Resorts World Arena 26 – Lisbon, PT, Campo Pequeno 27 – Madrid, ES, WiZink Center

MARCH 1 – Paris, FR, Le Zénith 2 – Amsterdam, NL, AFAS Live 3 – Brussels, BE, Forest National 5 – Hamburg, DE, Barclays Arena 7 – Oslo, NO, Oslo Spektrum 8 – Stockholm, SE, Annexet 10 – Copenhagen, DK, KB Hallen 12 – Berlin, DE, Verti Music Hall 13 – Warsaw, PL, Torwar Hall 14 – Prague, CZ, Fortuna Hall 16 – Zürich, CH, Hallenstadion Zurich 18 – Munich, DE, Zenith 19 – Milan, IT, Mediolanum Forum 21 – Frankfurt, DE, Jahrhunderthalle 22 – Cologne, DE, Palladium

Live reviews

I saw them play at the Starlite Room in Edmonton which is a small, slightly sketchy venue downtown that I personally love. It holds about 300 people probably. My best friend and I got there to wait outside in line about 7 hours before doors opened to guarantee that we got close to the stage, which we did. But the whole time we were waiting, all of the band members were walking in and out of the front doors, or they would linger around the venue. At one point I ran to the Tim Hortons down the street to grab something to eat, and I was behind George.. Like it was insane.

But anyways , the show.

My friends and I were in the front left of the stage. And at Starlite, they have no barriers so you're pressed right up against the stage. Sirsly came on first, which I hadn't heard of them before the show. They did an incredible job opening the show. Next was Bad Suns, which I left the show being a huge fan of them. They have the perfect young alternative rock feel. They did a wonderful job connecting to the crowd and their whole set just flew by. I was lucky enough to meet them after the show to chat with and they were such lovely guys. And next was the 1975. The word to describe how great of a show these guys put on is something beyond my vocabulary. They are edgy, raunchy, loud and extreme. I have always fancied the lead singer Matt Healy, and he knows just how to work the crowd. He loves to tease, chat and just flaunt himself at everyone. There was no equipment set up in front of my friends and I, so we had lots of opportunities where the band members would come right up to us. A moment that was a highlight for me was during Talk! Matty knelt down grabbed my hand and sang the line, "I've been thinking lots about your mouth.' It was a big deal for me. HAHAHA. But I could honestly write for hours about these guys. Their connection with everyone was undeniable. I'd say my favourite song to see like was probably "Sex". Its the last song they performed and Matty introduced it saying, "this song is about fucking each other." But its incredible to see live where everyone knows all the words and just goes insane, including the band.

Then after the show, the band came out and met every single person who waited. It was magical. Matt was the first to come out and because of how calm he was, the crowd literally waited in close to silence. No screaming or fan-girling. It was sweet to see him take his time with every single fan. He gave everyone hugs and listened to everything they had to say. I explained to him how much the bands music meant to me personally and he gave me three hugs and seemed so gracious to hear everything I had to say. Honestly, he is an angel. I didn't have the chance to meet the members sadly but next time i guess.

Anyways, never pass up an opportunity to see these guys... ever. Its been almost 2 1/2 months and the post concert depression is stronger than ever.

My first concert. My favourite band.

Belsonic music festival is an intimate venue so I was in touching distance of the foursome. As the intro played in, the crowd erupted as we caught the first sight of Ross (bass guitar), followed by George (drums), Matty (vocals) and finally Adam (rhythm guitar). The boys filed on to 'Love Me' and got the party started. Favourites from both albums followed such as 'A Change of Heart' and 'Menswear'.

As the sky began to darken Matty decided it was time to address the audience, cigarette in hand. Stating he loved Belfast and reminiscing about the time they first played Belfast to only 25 people, I could hear loyal fans shouting, "we were there! We were there!" Matty continued to talk about the world and how a 'revolution' was imminent, saying that it looked a lot more "emo these days". I tried to capture his little speech on my phone like many others, when Matty told us all to put our phones down for one minute, telling us we would "enjoy the next ten minutes much more than if it was on our iPhone." The sea of people dropped their devices (me included) and swayed to the transcendent sound of 'Me'.

The second half of the show was truly electric with a rainbow flashing on stage to 'Loving Someone' as two shared a kiss to my left. Then came the ever a party starter 'Girls' and 'She's American'. The true spectacle of the night was 'Sex' however, a light show in its own right, and a religious experience.

Finishing their set the crowd chanted, "one more song! One more song!" The guys obliged and then some, coming back out to play three scintillating tracks: the hymn - like 'If I Believe You', the classic 'Chocolate' and banging 'The Sound'.

The 1975 are a band that not only perform with such energy track after track, but put on an impressive light show and with a prophetic front man foretelling the future, I would recommend anyone witness their excellence for themselves.

Well lets just say this: They rocked it but it didn't start out that way.

First let me say that I am 51 and have been going to live shows, big and small, for 35 years. So, I saw Depeche Mode way back in the day and this show felt very much like what I saw back in the 80's. For you younger ones, and The1975 fans, you will really enjoy it but for the first half of the show, I felt like I was watching Depeche.

The "show" and set are really cool. I have never seen any light show like that before but the problem was that the entire band basically stayed in place and left the "entertaining" part to the lead singer. I have no problem with that but I felt sorry for him as this was their first time in Red Rocks and for those of you who don't know, while it is an amazing venue, it is pretty hight in altitude and every band that comes through complains about not being able to breath. You could see that it was a struggle but he was still awesome and pulled it off.

The sound was great! The band was very tight and way better than what I saw on SNL. I am not a huge fan of their new stuff because I became a huge fan back in 2014 when I saw them at a small club in San Diego. But the new stuff was still good and it made the end great because they finally got to the rocking out.

The opening acts, The Japanese House and Wolf Alice were really good opening act and Wolf Alice now has a new fan in me.

To sum it up, they did a good job headlining and it was totally worth the time and money but unless you are a The1975 fan, you may feel wanting during the first half. Make sure you stay for the end!

The 1975 was amazing live. I've been to several concerts and I can easily say that this concert was one of the best ones I've ever been to. I love their music. I think they're a very unique and talented band, and it amazes me how the different instruments and sounds blend together perfectly to create a beautiful song telling a beautiful story.

Matty Healy was the one who mainly talked to us, and the things he did on stage were incredible. There were beautiful moments such as during a song called "Me", he asked everyone to put their phones away and just enjoy the music, and then during the second half of the song, he asked everyone to turn the flashlight on on their phone, and wave it in the air to the song. It was such a beautiful sight.

At some point in the concert, he kindly asked everyone to take a step back because the people in front were getting squashed. He also went backstage for a while to get water for the people in the audience who were dying of thirst. He also said some funny things such as "the weather does horrible things to my hair". I just think that Matty is such a genuine, kind and great man.

Apart from Matty's great character, the music was really good, and all 4 band members put on an amazing show. There were more upbeat tracks such as "Girls" and "Sex" which got everyone pumped and dancing, interchanged with groovy instrumentals and slow, sad songs such as "Fallingforyou" and "Me" which touched the audience. Great music, great band, and great live.

The 1975 is one band you definitely should catch live.

This concert was certainly a shock.

I had seen the 1975 about a year ago at Ally Pally and although that was a good concert, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would and that meant that I didn't have high hopes to see them again this time.

However I was proved wrong.

The concert was absolutely awesome! Travel to the venue was straightforward and not too busy for starters and waiting in the cold for 2 hours was not as cold as I had feared. I was standing and although I wasn't that close to them, the venue had a slanted floor, so the combination of this and my highest heels allowed for a good view.

Everyone there tended to be the same age as me or older, that is over seventeen, and I felt that this added to the experience as we were all as excited and into the music as each other.

There was some moshing and although I tried to avoid it at first, I joined the pit during "Sex" and that was definitely the right choice; although it was very violent and fast and probably dangerous, it was loads of fun and got me into the music and got me right to the front!

The boys' playing was just brilliant, they really made us all get completely hypnotised by the music and they played some of their new album which sounded great. Matty looked really fit and shoutout to the guy on the sax, he was absolutely wicked!

They were just brilliant so as soon as I got home I bought a ticket to see them again in March hahaha. Definitely recommend!

The 1975's Melbourne show was insanely energetic even though Matty was apparently not feeling 100%. You wouldn't have known that he'd tweeted the night before apologising for being sick and mentioning that People might be dropped off the setlist due to his voice not being able to cope. Luckily, it was not dropped and proved an amazing opening song to get everyone up and dancing. There were three songs which really stood out over the course of the show: firstly, Love It If We Made It. It was apt that the climate strike had taken place the actual day that the Melbourne show was on, so Matty took it upon himself to do a little spiel about climate change which was (as usual) inspiring. The song itself was full of energy and great staging. Love Me sounded much better live than in studio which was a surprise for me! Finally, Sex was absolutely fantastic: everyone was screaming every word and Matty jumping up and down on stage. My only issue was that Girls was taken off the setlist which is understandable seeing as they're probably sick to death of playing it but I think they owe it to everyone to play their classics like Girls (Arctic Monkeys would never drop Do I Wanna Know despite Alex constantly complaining about how he's sick of it nor would Green Day drop American Idiot!). Genuinely an 8.5/10 and a fantastic night. (Matty in the pleated skirt was also a highlight!!!)

I attended the 1975 concert at LC Pavilion in Columbus, OH. This is a great venue that is standing room only. The pit at the front of the stage is always crowded and filled with fans ready for a good show. 1975 delivered!! The guys used the stage and interacted well with the crowd. They got everyone involved and singing along. They were all dressed in black pants and various black shirts. They used a nice back drop of the single lighted rectangle from the album art. The stage lighting was great and they used lots of smoke along with the lights to really highlight the band members.

They opened with The City which was truly awesome, they played a long intro to it to get the crowd really riled up! At one point they had the crowd hold up all their cell phones like lighters, it seemed like a special moment for them and they appreciated the large crowd in attendance. The highlight of the show was definitely their current hit song Chocolate.

Set list included, Milk, M.O.N.E.Y., So Far (It's Alright), Talk, She Way Out, Settle Down, Heart Out, Me, fallingforyou, You, Girls, Robbers, and Sex. Overall a great show and one of the better live shows I have seen.

From Vancouver, BC. PNE Forum May 1, 2017.

First opening band was Colouring, and I have to give them kudos for a job well done! I might be searching for their tunes. Second opening band instrumentals and music were good, but I was not a fan of the vocals.

On to The 1975: THANK YOU for an INCREDIBLE SHOW! The light show was AMAZING! STILL the best I have EVER seen! Matty kept all his attire on, lit up, and I swear there was a bottle of beer and a couple of wine glasses on stage. He danced on the piano and beckoned the sexy sax player. Mesmerizing. Merch was stocked! Unfortunately they did not carry the rose gold necklace I wanted. Set list was a mix of both albums and Medicine. He played 'Me' after kindly asking to put our phones away. Live in the moment for a memory no one else needs to know. Also played 'Robbers' after mentioning he'd never play it again, but they'll play it anyway. I was surprised how ok the acoustics were in the cement building of the PNE Forum. My friend and I had a tonne of fun! If you want a band that can give hot, steamy, sultry sex to your eyes and ears, see this band. MUSIC FOR CARS 2018!!!!

I have been a huge fan since their debut album, and last night got to see The 1975(first time) at the LC Pavilion in Columbus Ohio.Swim Deep opened for them and there was much anticipation and waiting for The 1975 to come on stage. There was a sensual smoky sound then the lights turned out and BOOM! They came out and killed the show with "Love Me". I'm 35 and I was sweating, singing, yelling and had the time of my life at this concert.Thier music is something special my 17 year old daughter and I share the same love for. Every damn song was phenomenal with the lights and screens.Matty interacted with the crowd throughout the night while sipping his wine. The long line outside, the standing was worth it in the end. Everyone loves The 1975, all ages and backgrounds it was exhilarating singing to all the songs with the crowd. They put on such an mind blowing show beginning to end. You can definitely feel the love.I can't wait for the new album, and the 2016 tour. When I listen to them I get lost in my feelings with thier atmospheric, sexy vibe. Great show from my favorite guys.

Starting with the opening act, it was really good DJ set.

The 1975 is band you shouldn't miss live. Really energetic even during slow songs. They're perfect live, as if you were listening to the album but with an extra vibe.

For this tour they have huge led screens everywhere with great graphics setting up the mood which is awesome and not usual as some bands do have led screens alternating graphics and live shots of themselves.

In one point of the concert I guess in one side of the Golden Circle people started pushing too hard against the barricade and Matt (front man) told them to hush and move two steps backwards, i guess there were some girls in trouble because he kept asking if someone was ok. He really cares about the fans, most artist would've let security handle it as they watched horrified.

This is one of my favorites bands and for sure they're awesome! So if you know too little this guy's go ahead and listen to more songs and watch videos and if they're coming on tour somewhere near you go see them live ;)
