We loved this two hour cruise. It was very comfortable and informative and the crew were helpful and friendly. They also have very convenient hours and great views!

What a wonderful boat ride and a a beautiful day. We really enjoyed seeing the eagles and the beautiful foliage. Great narration about the Hudson River.

The captain was knowledgeable and welcoming. We loved the trip on the boat. We got a good vantage point from which to view the Hudson River and we were able to see historic sites like Olana from the boat.

Our cruise was informative and relaxing. The staff was helpful and the scenery was awesome. Many birds were pointed out along the ride, as well as focal points along the Hudson River.

We had a ball! Our crew was wonderful and it was a wonderful day on the river! Highly recommend for a lovely afternoon with friends and family.

Great tour for a great price! Enjoyable ride on the Hudson with some great views and interesting history narration. The boat was clean, the crew was kind and the seating was spacious. I booked the 2 pm tour and I'd recommend going with that one. I spoke with two other parties that had booked a late morning ride that was canceled and was switched to this one. Parking was easy. Drinks were pricey and snacks were limited to candy, chips, popcorn and hot dogs. But they did have a full bar if that's your thing. I'd go back especially for the fall foliage.

Very nice cruise, 90 minutes round trip. 3 levels, with the top fully open, the second level covered, and the bottom level fully enclosed. The tour narration is a recording, so if you want to hear it clearly, being up on the top deck is the best option. Very difficult to hear on the second level.

I recently took a Hudson river cruise with some visiting friends during the fall. Great views from the boat although, if you really want to see cool things on the river banks, bring some binoculars. For the most part, you are cruising in the middle of the Hudson, which is quite far away from either bank of the river. There is a narrated tour which plays on some speakers throughout the boat, but it is quite difficult to hear in some areas of the boat. It was an enjoyable day, but not as good as I had hoped.

Pleasant 1.5 hour river cruise south on the Hudson, with interesting, "light," recorded narration. Lots of interesting history, particularly at the beginning/end of the trip, mostly mansions on the river banks during the middle. Good seating on the 2nd deck on the bench at the bow.

Riding South on the Hudson River was a nice treat to spend a lovely afternoon. The Rip van Winkle II ferry has been operating here more than thirty years. They are also available for weddings, company outings and family reunions. They have bar service and snacks on board. They operate three seasons a year, spring summer and fall. Check out the map to see where we cruise past some of these noteworthy places. Departure is from Kingston. My only negative was the ferry could have been a bit cleaner.

I am unable to write a review of the cruise because this company cancelled the cruise due to low booking the morning we were scheduled to arrive We drove all the way to this area stayed in a hotel just to be canceled You cannot have a refund according to their web site for any circumstances but they obviously are not held to the same standards DISAPPOINTING

Photo of Charles S.

Pleasant on a hot day...but Not as long as promised 90 minutes. Was about 75 minutes Expensive - not great value, especially kids and seniors Not too much to see on banks of Hudson. Thought there would be better views of estates

Photo of Steve V.

Their Email said their tour goes on rain or shine. Message an hour ahead of time saidcanceled due to rain. 45 minutes wasted. Then they refused to refund my money after saying they would. Not recommended!!!

Photo of Richard B.

We had a lovely time on the 90-minute river cruise. It was a sunny day with blue skies, and the fall foliage was excellent. Everything was efficient and well-run. There was a good narration about the history of the sites along the river, but we didn't always pay attention because we were just enjoying the sunshine. When it got too breezy, we went to the lower deck to get shade. I definitely felt we got our money's worth, and I would do it again, especially during fall foliage season.

Photo of Elayna T.

We did a private charter for our welcome event as part of our wedding weekend. Our guests absolutely loved it. There was plenty of space (160 people), we seamlessly connected our phone to play music, our caterer had plenty of space for food, and they were super easy to work with. Would definitely recommend for a private event!

  • Lightlover53 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles NICE LITTLE CRUISE ON THE HUDSON RIVER Nice cruise up the Hudson River from Kingston. Crew was very nice. Ship was clean and had plenty of seating. 2 issues however prevented this from being 5 stars. #1...lets put some decent speakers on the top level near the front of the ship. The whole cruise, we could not hear anything the Captain was telling people over the engine of the ship. I am sure I not the only one who would say this is badly needed. # 2 - All correspondence and literature on the cruise said credit cards and debit cards would be accepted for drinks and snacks. Well, when I went down paper signs around the cash register said no debit and no credit cards...and no change given, need exact amount cash payment. Well, my beer and my wife's glass of wine cost me $30.00 because the cashier could not give change. Left me with a feeling of a money grab. No reason you cannot have sufficient change on board. Your know well in advance how many people will be on board. Then once docked, the Captain politely said tips are not required but they are appreciated. Well, you got my $8.00 tip when you could give me change at the snack bar. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Overall a nice experience and it was cool to see a couple of lighthouses. Our guide had interesting information about the area, history, and the lighthouse and "cottages" along our way. The ship had a spot for everyone - a heated area on the lowest deck, less breeze on the middle deck, and the upper deck was pretty breezy. If I had anything to criticize, it would be that it was hard to hear our guide over the speaker system unless you were standing right by it. Read more Written October 28, 2023

How tranquil the river cruise would otherwise be. • Kerry S 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Something different, simple and fun My fiancé and I went on the boat to see the fall foliage. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy and cold, and the trees had only begun to change so there wasn’t a lot of foliage, but that’s nothing the cruise can change! The guided tour takes you around the river and points out historical landmarks, castles, lighthouses, and tells you about things in the area. There were 3 levels you could roam, the top being exposed to the elements and the bottom being temperature controlled. There were clean bathrooms on board. There is a fully stocked bar with a good amount of options but we paid $28 for 1 beer and 1 mixed drink with tip. I guess it’s not bad but the mixed drink came in a small cup. We didn’t try the pretzels, pop corn or hot dogs they were selling. Luckily there were only about 50 people on board so we had plenty of room to sit and move around. Overall this was a different and fun experience and we are thinking of going again during the warmer months! Read more Written October 16, 2023

  • 98mayk 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great Boat Tour Husband and I are both interested in the trading and industrial development, and maritime history of the country, and therefore of the vital Hudson River area. The history we wanted was included in the friendly narration provided, plus so much more! Also the stories of the lighthouses and their keepers, backgrounds of families still plying their trades, and the tales of successful and failed business ventures into the present. Brids seen while on board and at the dock: two adult swans with their cygnet between them, lots of cormorants and fun-to-watch seagulls, blue jays, sparrows. We lucked out on the weather, with cool breezes and bright warm sunshine. Even took off our outer jackets and jwere happy in our vests and long sleeves. Friendly passing boaters waved, fellow passengers were polite when taking their photos. Both charis and benches available, and open and covered seating areas. Popcorn was hot, candies and drinks (both sofr and "adult") available for purchase. So everyone was happy. The river was smooth and winds light so this seasick-prone sailor had zero issues. Some trees had begun to put on their fall show; lovely reflections of color in the water. The surrounding cliffs and hillsides must be gorgeous when the colors are at their height. Very good restaurants right at the dock, one has a patio with water view and open-air bar. Parking is free and convenient if you show up early. Some handicapped spots available, or just get dorpped off and the dirver can then find parking. Excellent cover from the weather provided by an overpass. Can't be happier with our experience. We are both glad we took the river cruise as a relaxing break from our busy sightseeing schedule. Read more Written October 12, 2023
