Someone at Ticketek  might have let details about a potential Eminem  Australian tour slip to a friend, an anonymous caller told Triple M yesterday (6 June).

Yesterday morning, a caller rang 104.7 Triple M Adelaide during the station’s Rumour Mill breakfast segment. Joining Roo, Ditts & Loz , the caller claimed that Ticketek is in talks with owners at Adelaide Oval for  The Eminem Show – a venue that holds approximately 53,000 people.

“I heard a big name is coming to town at the end of the year and it's Eminem... a friend of a friend let it slip from Ticketek,” the anonymous caller claimed. “They [Ticketek] are currently working with Adelaide Oval to sort out a venue,” for The Real Slim Shady , the caller added.

You can listen to the call below.

On Thursday, 8 June, Mark 'Roo' Ricciuto also addressed the Eminem touring rumours on his 104.7 Triple M show, stating that “They're 100 per cent in negotiations… but it's not done yet. Ticketek are involved and Adelaide Oval,” Daily Mail reports.

Ricciuto continued, “It won't be in 2023… it will be between the Adelaide Oval Test match against the West Indies and Round one of the football.” According to Ricciuto’s sources and prediction, the rumoured Eminem tour should take place at any point between January and mid-March 2024.

The Daily Mail reached out to representatives for Eminem for comment.

Eminem last toured Australia in 2019. 60,500 was the evening's official headcount at his Perth stop , with many fans in attendance waiting as long as 20 years – since the release of the rapper’s major-label debut album The Slim Shady LP in 1999 – to finally see him in WA.

His Melbourne gig also broke the MCG’s live concert attendance record with 80,708 fans at the gig, beating the record previously set by the Sound Relief concert in 2009, which was attended by 80,518 people.

However, Ed Sheeran smashed that record earlier this year , selling a mind-boggling number of over 107,000 tickets for just one night. His second show in Melbourne – both at the MCG – sold over 100,000 tickets. Will Eminem reclaim his record and beat Ed Sheeran upon his return?

Last month, Sheeran revealed that listening and rapping along to Eminem’s classic 2000 album,  The Marshall Mathers LP,  cured his stutter as a nine-year-old.

Appearing on The Howard Stern Show , Sheeran explained, "(My uncle) just said to my dad, 'This guy is the next Bob Dylan. You gotta let him listen. And by learning that record - and rapping it back to back to back to back - it cured my stutter."

Opening up about his friendship with the rap music icon, Sheeran continued, "I think it's different with Eminem because he is quite reclusive, doesn't see or meet that many people.

"I've known him now (for) six years and we've done three songs together; I've played with him twice onstage. He's another person I really relate to, as he lives in his hometown still and has his eco-system around him.”

Eminem 'in talks' for Australian stadium tour in 2024

Eminem is tipped to be coming Down Under in the very near future.

The American rapper, 50, was previously rumoured to be coming to Australia for a tour in 2023, but next year is looking more likely according to several sources.

Eminem’s Australian tour promoter Paul Dainty claims he is trying to convince the hip hop star to do stadium spectaculars in 2024.

Speaking to the Herald Sun's Page 13 , Dainty said, 'Nothing is locked in, there are no dates or venues yet, but we're hoping. We are in talks.'

Should Eminem agree, he would be joining a cavalcade of superstars performing at stadiums this summer, including The Weeknd , Paul McCartney, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Foo Fighters, Pink and Taylor Swift .

Earlier this year, it was reported that Eminem is '100 per cent in negotiations' to tour Australia, but with no indication that it would be a stadium show.

According to radio host Mark 'Roo' Ricciuto, the tour is not a done deal yet but talks are happening.

Speaking on his radio show, 104.7 Triple M in June, Mark said a source told him the tour will happen early to mid-next year, after claims Slim Shady will make it to Aussie shores at the end of 2023.

'They're 100 per cent in negotiations… but it's not done yet. Ticketek are involved and Adelaide Oval,' Mark said.

'It won't be in 2023… it will be between the Adelaide Oval Test match against the West Indies and Round 1 of the football,' he added.

That places the concert dates somewhere between late January 2024 and mid-March 2024.

Eminem, who also goes by the stage name Slim Shady, is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time.

The rapper, whose real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, rose to fame with his hit songs Lose Yourself, Without Me and Cleanin' Out My Closet.

The last time he toured Australia was back in 2019. He also toured the country in 2013.

What can be said about Eminem that hasn’t already been said? The most successful rapper of all time has sold nearly a quarter of a billion albums and changed the world of music and pop culture forever.

From his less-than-humble beginnings to the pinnacle of notoriety and superstardom, Marshall Mathers has truly seen it all.

Born in 1972 to his mother Debbie and father Bruce, Mathers’ family broke apart soon after forming. His father abandoned his wife and infant son and moved to California. Mathers and his mother moved between Detroit and Missouri, typically changing homes every year or so and living with family members. When he was a teenager, Mathers wrote letters to his father that all came back with “return to sender” marked on them.

For most of Mathers’ youth, he and his mother lived in a poor neighborhood in Detroit, and he was often targeted for bullying. But he had a creative outlet: He loved storytelling. He first dreamt of becoming a comic book artist, but then he discovered rap. The first rap song he ever heard was “Reckless” featuring Ice-T, given to him by his mother’s half-brother Ronnie. Ronnie played a positive role in Mathers’ childhood, mentoring him and giving him emotional support.

Marshall repeated ninth grade three times before dropping out of Lincoln High School at age 17. He had already begun rapping by this time and frequently snuck into the neighboring high school with his friend to compete in freestyle rap battles during lunch. Weekends saw them performing at open mics on West 7 Mile Road, the epicenter of Detroit’s underground rap scene. He spent much of his free time working on rhymes for different words in the English language.

Meanwhile, Mathers fought constantly with his mother, who was described as having a “very suspicious, almost paranoid personality” by a social worker. In 1987, Debbie invited runaway Kim Scott into their home. Marshall and Kim began a tumultuous relationship several years later. By 1988, he had adopted the stage name MC Double M and was recording demo tapes and appearing in music videos. Mathers’ uncle Ronnie committed suicide in 1991, a traumatic experience that caused Mathers to stop speaking for several days.

He formed The Dirty Dozen, also known as D12, in 1996 — the same year he released his debut album, Infinite, which was a commercial failure. DJs who rejected his tracks asked him why he didn’t just go into rock and roll, which fueled him to craft darker, angrier tracks. He and Kim lived in a dangerous neighborhood and were robbed multiple times, and Marshall was working for minimum wage washing dishes. Before Christmas of that year, he had been fired and attempted suicide.

In 1997, Mathers developed an alter ego called Slim Shady and recorded the Slim Shady EP, released by Web Entertainment. The EP attracted some attention, even getting mentioned by hip-hop magazine The Source in 1998.

After placing second in a nationwide rap battle in Los Angeles, Mathers’ EP got noticed by Dr. Dre. The two began working on The Slim Shady LP, which was released in February 1999. It went triple platinum by the end of the year. The album’s violent lyrics were an outlet for Eminem’s anger and frustration, and they struck a strange chord with the public.

The next decade was all his. His second full-length album, The Marshall Mathers LP, came out in May 2000 and sold nearly 2 million copies before the end of its first week. Mathers toured that year with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube. In 2001, he was the only guest on Jay-Z’s album, The Blueprint.

In May 2002, Eminem released The Eminem Show, the best-selling album of the year with 27 million copies sold worldwide. Encore followed in 2004, showcasing more of his political commentary. His subsequent albums include Relapse, Recovery, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, and, of course, the soundtrack to the semi-autobiographical blockbuster film 8 Mile.

Eminem’s career was relatively quiet in the late 2010s, until the earth-shaking moment he criticized then-President Trump in the 2017 freestyle “The Storm.” This represented a comeback moment for Eminem — his support for Black Americans resonated at a time when social unrest and inequality were becoming highly talked about.

Live reviews

“EMINEM.” Seeing his name lit across the stage was mind blowing. As if natural instinct, everyone started chanting, ‘EM-IN-EM, EM-IN-EM’, until the legend himself took the stage, wearing a get up that only the King of Rap could pull off.

Without a breathe of a moment, he jumps directly in to rapping, setting the crowd on fire as most of us have been waiting in the stadium for hours, and some of us have been waiting for years. As far back as we can remember, Eminem was there, withstanding the wrath of time and still being able to top the charts many, many years later.

The audience was as real as he is, old, young (too young), male, female and people of all colours were there. I could see it in their eyes, as they threw their hands to the beat and mouthed every word along with him, that at this moment, this is all they have ever wanted. When songs like “Lose Yourself”, “Stan”, “Not Afraid” and a few others were sung, tears flowed freely, because like every other person, those songs were a part of various struggles and difficulties you or someone you are close to have faced. That’s not to say the concert is a downer, no, not at all. Once you’ve wiped your tears away, “Without Me”, “The Real Slim Shady”, “Rap God” and more is performed, to get your body moving, dancing, jumping, flashing, whatever you are in to. Aside from the upbeat tracks, his stage presence is something else, he manages to be filthy and charming all at the same time.

And by the end of the show, you’re speechless. Firstly, because you’re in shock due to the fact that you have never experienced a level of such greatness, and secondly, because your voice is gone as rapping alongside the one and only Eminem, is not as easy as he makes it look.

Eminem in concert in LA was enough to make me extraordinarily happy, but for him to perform some hits from the Recovery album made the entire night absolutely worth it!! It was nostalgic for him to perform his old hits, taking me back to elementary and junior high school days, but Recovery was the album that solidified my love and appreciation for his artistry, talent and heart!

Em's portion of the show was absolutely fantastic, he is truly a lyrical genius and he never fails to deliever with an energy and intensity that is infectious! I would have been more than happy (and actually would have preferred) if the show was just his performance, but I can fully understand why he would need someone to fill some time to give him a break between his sets. When he performs it feels like he is literally pouring his heart and soul out on the stage and that has to be beyond exhausting for him, hence the need for Rihanna. Her part was ok. The venue (the Rose Bowl) was an experience in itself. Parking wasn't as bad as I was anticipating, but it was very expensive. The arena was packed solid, but I never felt too overwhelmed by people even though I was on the floor. It was just great to be surrounded by people who were enjoying the concert. If you ever have a chance to see Em in concert, I would say, GO!

I have been a huge Eminem fan since he came out with Cleaning Out My Closet, I was very very young at the time so I've been a fan since I was a little kid. I was very much looking forward to my first Eminem concert, and on 8/16 at MetLife Stadium, my dream finally came true. The website said they would start at 7:30, but they didn't start until like 8:40, but the whole concert made up for it. Eminem was amazing, I honestly have no words to describe the experience except that it was very unreal and I had to pinch myself a few times just to make sure this was really happening to me. He played a lot of his songs off his first two albums and then some songs off of Recovery & MMLP2. For anyone who had seats or had Floor B GA, you really missed out on an amazing view & concert. The view from the 200s & 300s probably sucked, they could only probably see Eminem & Rihanna from the jumbo screens. Rihanna was great too, she was very sweet & funny live, as well as sexy & seductive. Eminem was funny and his stage presence was wonderful. This was an experience I'd LOVE to have again, an experience many should get to enjoy and from the amazing view in GA. I do hope he goes on tour again in the next year or so.

Fucking amazing!! Man’s music has saved my life so many times! A real artist and an incredible lyricist... unbaleaveablw how much talent Marshal has. Tears dropped as he sung songs that touched my heart and took me back from the grave... I love him for all he has done for me an my recovery... if only I was able to thank him in person... In rehab they say to believe in power that’s greater than me, as my god. Eminem is that god to me. A powerful man that I know has saved so many lives just from his music. The show was the best show I’ve ever attended. Only issue was I wasn’t quick enough to get a ticket I the pit. I would have rocked up at 6am before the concert just to get into the front row and thank the ma. For everything he has done for my life..

But I don’t think I’ll ever get the chance to thanks him and praise Marshal. But I doubt I’ll

Ever get the chance to express the abundance of help, love and strength I receive when ever I lisfen laying down to his tracks!!! An I doubt he’ll ever truely know how many llivws he has saves and touched!!! 100/10 for the show!!! Bring him back pleaseeee!!!

Where do I start, right let’s try.... I’ve been lucky enough to see Eminem 3 Times now, first time was v festival where he was absolutely superb and stole the show. Second was at Wembley, where yet again he smashed it, and too bring out dre was unbelievable and the crowd went insane, personally thought, u are not topping that.... but now to twickenham, where I didn’t think he could possibly get any better or fulfill his thousands and thousands of fans, but how stupid was I haha, not only delivers the best show/concert I’ve ever been to and seen but upped the anti and performs the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a few acts, not to finish there, but brings out not just 50 cent but ed sheeran also and the crowd just goes insane and lifted the roof off....

By far the best performer/performance I’ve been luckily enough to witness

I FINALLY got to see Eminem live after being a fan since day one. What can I say that will do the performance justice? He was AMAZING! Everything that I ever imagined in my mind an Eminem concert would be, well it was 10 times better than that. He was on point with his flow, the sound was awesome, the stage design was great too but honestly I didn't even pay that much attention to that because I was focusing on him the entire time. It was a long time coming for me to see him live and man did he exceed my expectations. Few shows have ever hit that top mark for me and wow he did it. There really are no words that I can say that will give him the credit he deserves for being an amazing artist and performer. All I can say is if you get a chance to watch him, DO IT! You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to be able to watch him again!

Marshal a.k..a Eminem, you are the best music star ever! I listen to your music everyday becuase I love how you put your anger and pain into the words of your songs, "I'm Sorry Mama, I never meant to hurt you, I never meant to make you cry" is one of the best emotional phrases you have used even though you think you have hurt them they will always love you and make sure you are safe. I will always buy your albums when they are released and even try and come to one of your concerts, hopefully meaning I get to meet you and ask for a picture with you and ask you nicely to sign my albums and posters I have. You are my favourite singer of all time. I am your biggest fan ever!

From Curtis

P.S. You are the best, hopefully I get to meet you and that would be the best day of my life I would never forget it and never forget you!

Eminem is epic. Eminem live is mind blowing! Live he performs a great variety of songs from all of his albums, mixing in some of his old stuff which brings feelings of nostalgia with his newer stuff which sounds great. He has got to be one of the best rappers of all time and the fact that he writes all his lyrics himself gives the songs depth and meaning. He's a lyrical genius! Watching him live is a roller coaster of emotions from jumping up and down and going wild to swaying your hands in the air with a sing-a-long. Even though Wembley held thousands he still performed like it was to each and every one of you, interacting with the crowd and showing off his great sense of humor. Eminem is amazing and I would highly recommend seeing him live, there's no feeling like it.

Rumours are rife that American rapper Eminem is set to tour Australia later this year.

An anonymous caller made the claim on  104.7 Triple M on Tuesday, revealing they had been informed of the exciting news by a source who works for Ticketek Australia.

According to the caller, Eminem. 50, will perform at Adelaide Oval, which can hold approximately 53,000 people.

'I heard a big name is coming to town at the end of the year and it's Eminem.. a friend of a friend let it slip from Ticketek,' the caller claimed.

'They are currently working with Adelaide Oval to sort out a venue.'

It comes amid claims Taylor Swift is also set to come to Australia early next year as part of her Eras tour.

While Australian promoter Live Nation has yet to confirm dates for, it is believed Swift will perform at the MCG in Melbourne and Accor Stadium in Sydney.

The superstar will hit Sydney in January before heading to Melbourne the following month, according to sources at multiple venues and ticketing agency Ticketek.

The Shake It Off star is expected to play at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, which has a capacity of 100,000.

If she sells out the venue, which she almost certainly will, it will be one of the biggest shows of her career, reports the Shameless podcast.

It is unclear when tickets for her Australian and New Zealand tour will go on sale, but Ticketek has set up a waitlist on its website.

It comes amid claims Taylor Swift is also set to come to Australia early next year as part of her Eras tour. While Australian promoter Live Nation has yet to confirm dates for, it is believed Swift will perform at the MCG in Melbourne and Accor Stadium in Sydney

Eminem Rumoured To Tour Australia This Year

“I heard a big name is coming to town at the end of the year and it's Eminem..." Could it be?

Australia concerts in 2024: here’s a list of shows and tours coming up

Big names confirmed for tours Down Under in 2024 include Coldplay, Pink, SZA, Hozier, Iron Maiden and more

Fresh out of a pandemic, Australia’s 2023 touring calendar was one of the busiest in recent memory, as artists of all stripes took centrestage everywhere from stadium shows to intimate local gigs. With a starry schedule that included the likes of Post Malone , Red Hot Chili Peppers , and Mötley Crüe , it’ll be tricky for 2024’s schedule to outdo its predecessor – and yet, thanks to the likes of Taylor Swift , Blink-182 and Pink , plus Coldplay, Pearl Jam and SZA later in the year, it’s poised to do just that.

From debut headline shows for breakout artists to bustling festival sideshow programs, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as a stellar batch of musicians make their way Down Under in 2024. Read on for NME’s roundup of all the biggest concerts and tours coming to Australia this year.

Here are the concerts and tours coming to Australia in 2024:

Pink When: February 9 – March 23 Find tickets and more info

Australia bloody loves Pink , and she’s apparently pretty fond of her “home away from home” too. In 2009, she played 58 shows here as part of her Funhouse tour, performing for some 660,000 fans. In 2013, when she announced an Australian tour in support of sixth studio album ‘The Truth About Love’, 320,000 tickets were snapped up within a few hours of them going on sale.

It makes sense, then, that the American singer-songwriter has a slew of dates booked for her return in February and March 2024 as part of her Summer Carnival world tour . She’ll be bringing songs from her ninth studio album ‘Trustfall’ to stadiums around the country, including stops in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.

She’ll be playing a total of four shows at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium and conclude the tour at Townsville’s Queensland Country Bank stadium.

Maisie Peters: The Good Witch Comes to Australia When: March 19 – 23 Find more info

Expectations will be high for Peters’ tour and not necessarily because of the music. As she tweeted : “Last time I toured here I did a shoey on stage and became an honorary Australian so who knows what will happen next!!”

Elvis Costello. Credit: Ed Rode via Getty Images

Less than 24 hours before their shows – in support of 2022 album ‘A Boy Named If’ – a case of COVID-19 within the band forced them to withdraw from Byron Bay Bluesfest 2023 and postpone their headline tour dates .

The good news is, new dates were swiftly locked in. Costello and the Imposters will be one of the headliners for 2024’s edition of Bluesfest , and play headline gigs at the Sydney Opera House and Melbourne’s Palais Theatre. Eminem Will Go to Australia! But Not This Year

eminem tour australia 2023

A recent rumour about Eminem’s upcoming tour finds more confirmations, but fans are not going to be happy about it.

The same Daily Mail Australia that first published an article about an anonymous call to a radio station with info on negotiations between Em’s management and local Australian promoters, followed up on that with new facts.

According to radio host Mark “Roo” Ricciuto, there are ongoing negotiations for Eminem to tour Australia next year. While the tour hasn’t been finalized, discussions are taking place. Mark shared this information on his radio show, 104.7 Triple M, on Thursday. He mentioned that a source informed him that the tour is likely to take place in the early to mid-next year, contradicting previous claims that Slim Shady would visit Australia towards the end of 2023.

Mark stated that negotiations are progressing at a full pace, with Ticketek and Adelaide Oval being involved in the process. However, he emphasized that the deal is not yet confirmed. He clarified that the tour is expected to occur between the Adelaide Oval Test match against the West Indies and Round 1 of the football season, ruling out the possibility of it happening in 2023.

This is what Mark ‘Roo’ Ricciuto said:

Matty Healy  wasn't The One for  Taylor Swift . After Swift's split from Joe Alwyn , and before her romance with Travis Kelce , the singer was briefly linked to the British musician, who's the frontman of The 1975.

While Healy and Swift's brief 2023 was front page news, the singers were first linked nearly a decade earlier. Back in 2014, they exchanged phone numbers, publicly supported each other, and had a flirtation, but never officially entered into a relationship.

That changed after Swift and Alwyn ended things in 2023, but the long-awaited romance only lasted a month.

Now, fans are revisiting the fling in the wake of Swift's The Tortured Poets Department double album release on Friday, with many speculating that Healy may have served as the inspiration for some of Swift's new songs.

Keep reading for a full timeline of Swift and Healy's fleeting relationship.

November 2014

The pair are thought to have met for the first time when Swift, along with pals Selena Gomez and Ellie Goulding , attended The 1975's Los Angeles concert in 2014. Shortly thereafter, Swift was photographed wearing a shirt advertising The 1975, and Healy was spotted in a shirt promoting the singer's album,  1989 .

Healy seemingly confirmed that he met Swift at his concert later that month, telling radio show Shazam Top 20 (via  E! News ), "I met Taylor Swift. That was really nice. We exchanged numbers. Let's see what happens."

As for if he'd date Swift, Healy said, "I mean bloody hell, what am I going to do? Go out with Taylor Swift? She's a sensation, I wouldn't say no."

December 2014

The romance rumors continued to swirl when Swift attended another The 1975 concert, this time with Lily Aldridge and Karlie Kloss , but Healy was quick to shut down speculation the following month.

"We met each other, we exchanged numbers in the same way that a lot of people in this kind of world do, and we spoke occasionally," he told Australia's 2DayFM (per E! News ). "She's the biggest pop star in the world and I'm in Australia. There's no relationship or anything happening. It's just funny how people really, really buy into that."

February 2015

The pair continued to keep in touch, even hanging out at a London party alongside Karlie Kloss, Ellie Goulding and Nick Grimshaw.

In an interview with  Q Magazine , Healy said it would've been "emasculating" for him to date Swift, with whom he had a "flirtation."

"I don't do anything else, right, so it doesn't leave a lot of room for me going out, or shagging someone," he told the outlet, according to ELLE . "So the one time I did have a flirtation with a girl it ends up going everywhere…. I mean, I got on E! News and people were like, 'Who's Matt Healy?' so that was cool, but I didn’t make a big deal out of it myself."

"It's not really anything to talk about, because if she wasn't Taylor Swift we wouldn't be talking about her," he continued. "She wasn't a big impact on my life. It's just interesting to me how interested the world is about Taylor Swift."

He added, "If I had gone out with Taylor Swift I would've been, 'F**king hell! I am not being Taylor Swift's boyfriend.' You know, 'F**k. That.' That's also a man thing, a de-masculinating, emasculating thing."

Healy released an open letter shortly thereafter, claiming that his quotes were "totally taken out of context." He went on the clarify that he and Swift never dated, but, amid speculation that they did, he was "immersed in a celebrity world that I found confusing and scary."

"At that time," he wrote, "I had fears of being 'somebody's boyfriend' (remember this is all speculation as we never dated!) before even being recognized for my music or presence as a person in my own right."

As for what he thinks about Swift, Healy wrote, "I found her to be one of the most gracious, hard working, creatively gifted, and beautiful women that I have had the pleasure to meet. I personally have a lot of respect and admiration for her."

September 2022

Amid rumors that The 1975 would be featured on Swift's album,  Midnights , Healy took to social media to call the speculation "fake news." However, the following month, Healy revealed that his band  did  record a collaboration with Swift for her album, but it didn't make the cut.

"It was for reasons that are not to be criticized," he said. "She's amazing."

January 2023

Swift delighted the crowd at The 1975's London show when she made a surprise appearance to perform her song, "Anti-Hero," for the first time. She also covered the band's track, "The City."

The month after ET exclusively reported that Swift had called it quits with Joe Alwyn after six years together, Healy attended the Nashville stop of Swift's Eras Tour. They were photographed together shortly thereafter, and were even spotted holding hands during one outing.

Around the same time, a source told ET that the pair reconnected thanks to their mutual pal, Jack Antonoff .

"Taylor and Matty like each other," another source told ET. "Taylor has a crush on Matty and they are having a good time hanging out. Matty also thinks Taylor is awesome and incredibly talented, too."

A separate source told ET that "Taylor and Matty have known each other and have history," noting, "there's a comfortability factor there, but also feelings of excitement."

That same month, as Healy attended multiple Eras Tour performances, he and Swift  were spotted  exiting the Electric Lady recording studio in New York City.

"Matty joined her in the studio too, once staying until after 2 a.m.," a source said at the time.

After a brief romance, Swift and Healy called it quits, with a source telling ET , "They are both extremely busy and realized they're not really compatible with each other."

"Taylor's friends want what's best for her and aren't shocked that their relationship fizzled out since she recently got out of a long-term relationship," the source added.

Since then, Swift has continued her Eras Tour and she  began a relationship with Travis Kelce , while Healy has announced an indefinite hiatus for his band.
