After holding the Audi Summer Tour with the brand with the four rings in digital form for two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, FC Bayern Munich is now finally getting back on the road. This is the fifth time the tour will see the record-breaking German champions hop across the pond to the United States, where they will play games in Washington, D.C. and Green Bay. At the two Audi Soccer Summits, the reigning German champions will face D.C. United and this year’s Champions League semifinalists Manchester City.

Audi is the named sponsor and partner of FC Bayern Munich’s Audi Summer Tour for the seventh time, and this year the tour is heading to the United States for the fifth time. From July 18 to 24, the reigning German champions will travel through the United States as part of their preparations for the new season. The first stop on Bayern Munich’s tour will be Washington, D.C. from July 18 to 22, followed by a second stop in Green Bay, Wisconsin on July 22 and 23. In Washington, Julian Nagelsmann’s team will face host D.C. United at Audi Field in front of a crowd of 20,000. In Green Bay, the match against Manchester City will be played at legendary Lambeau Field, a stadium with a capacity of 81,441. Normally, the Green Bay Packers NFL team plays its games here, and this will be a premiere – never before has this iconic stadium hosted a soccer match.

The Audi Summer Tour will take FC Bayern to the United States for the fifth time this year, following tours through the US in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019. Bayern embark on stateside tour

Munich - FC Bayern München's pre-season preparations kicked into overdrive on Wednesday as the club gear up to take the USA by storm. The Bundesliga champions landed at New York's Newark Airport at around 14:00 local time (20:00 CEST) as they embark on their Audi Summer Tour of the States.

Pep Guardiola’s side, who will be in the US until 7 August, have scheduled a number of marketing and media appointments during their stay in order to bring the Bundesliga and FC Bayern closer to their ever-growing legion of ardent American supporters. The record titleholders have also lined up two friendlies against Club Deportivo Guadalajara Chivas and an MLS All-star XI . Though executive board chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who recently described the US market as “one of the most important in the world”, was unable to board the flight to New York owing to technical problems with the US's visa processing system, FC Bayern and Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer, who saw out the twilight of his career at New York Cosmos towards the end of the 1970s, has accompanied Guardiola and Co. on their stateside tour. “Franz is by far the most recognisable face at the club,” Rummenigge said of der Kaiser recently. Despite their many off-pitch appointments, Bayern are by no means neglecting the sporting side of things in America. Shortly after their arrival at Newark, the squad took part in their first training session of the tour at New York’s Red Bull Arena - the venue for the first of their two friendlies, against Chivas, on Thursday (kick-off 8pm local time/2am CEST). Guardiola, for one, is looking forward to the test against the Mexican outfit. “Mexican football is very strong and we’ll have to put in a good performance,” the former FC Barcelona tactician told fcbayern.de . “Mexican teams are very comfortable on the ball, they have many small, fast and dynamic players, so we have to prepare ourselves as well as possible for this type of playing philosophy. We’re still at an early stage of our pre-season preparations and games like these are important.”

Bayern Munich announce U.S. tour for International Champions Cup

Bayern Munich have announced a summer tour of the United States and will take part in the International Champions Cup against AC Milan, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

Two years after their first trip to the United States, Bayern will return to three major U.S. cities and perform in the ICC, the club revealed on Tuesday.

Bayern are set to play AC Milan at Chicago's Soldier Field on July 27, and three days later take on Inter Milan in Charlotte. On Aug. 3, Bayern will clash with Real Madrid at the MetLife stadium in New York. All matches will be shown live in the United States on the ESPN family of TV and digital networks.

Bayern were the first European club to open an office in the United States two years ago, and are looking forward to establishing further links with the American audience following the 2016 European Championships in France.

"Since we opened our New York office, we have seen first-hand how much passion there is for soccer in America and how quickly the sport is growing," Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told the club's website .

Joerg Wacker, the Bayern Munich executive board member of Internationalisation and Strategy, added that the United States are an "important market within our international strategy," and highlighted that the upcoming tour is an "important stepping stone for our activities and supports our goal to further expand the FC Bayern Munich brand globally."

Bayern Munich have 92 registered fan clubs in the United States, and their New York office has been working on establishing several partnerships including one with the Columbia University.

Former Bayern Munich manager and newly-minted German national team boss Julian Nagelsmann is looking to get his team prepared for the EURO 2024 competition and the work has already begun.

First and foremost, Nagelsmann wants to ensure that the squad will have the proper mentality.

“Of course, self-confidence and atmosphere are important. In order to develop a good spirit, you also need a good idea that the players can understand and implement. This plan is important, it will not be as complex as in club football, but it’s about giving the players support. Hopefully we’ll see what that looks like in the next two international matches,” said Nagelsmann (as captured by @iMiaSanMia ).

“There are always pros and cons for such a trip to the USA. For me personally it’s positive because we’ll get to spend a lot of time together. Bayern Munich host Arsenal in a huge UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg on Wednesday and this one is so close to call.

Bayern’s season hinges on whether not they win the Champions League and Thomas Tuchel, who will depart next month, is desperate to end his time at Bayern on a high. The German giants played with that desperation in their 2-2 draw at Arsenal in the first leg last week and as long as they have Harry Kane, they have a big chance to beat Arsenal. There will be quite the atmosphere at the Allianz Arena as this feels like the last dance for this Bayern squad which will be rejuvenated this summer.

Speaking of Kane, he believes Bayern’s extremely experienced squad will play a key part in Wednesday’s game: “We have a lot of experience and players who have played in big games. It’s no secret this club sets out to win the Champions League every season. There has been a different type of performance in this competition. We’ve been able to do more on the pitch, defensively and in attack. It’s a chance to step up and be counted. It will be great atmosphere on a Champions League night at home. There’s a lot of expectation on us tomorrow.”

Arsenal are reeling from their shock defeat at home to Aston Villa on Sunday and Mikel Arteta’s side are now focused on giving the right response to make sure their Premier League and Champions League dreams don’t fall by the wayside. They played well against Villa in the first half but looked very tired in the second and it will be intriguing to see how Arteta lines up Arsenal from the start. All of the strides forward they’ve made this season are now about to be tested.

Whoever prevails in Munich will face the winner of Manchester City vs Real Madrid in the semifinals, so they know they have a very tough path to the final at Wembley.

Davies being out is a big blow as he was tasked with keeping Saka quiet last week. Raphael Guerreiro or Noussair Mazraoui will start at left back in Davies’ place. Gnabry and Coman both being injured is a blow too but Bayern still have Leroy Sane, Kane and Thomas Muller in attack who can cause plenty of problems.

Arsenal’s Jurrien Timber is back in training and building up his fitness after the long-term knee injury he suffered in the opening game of the season. Captain Martin Odegaard suffered a knock against Villa and came off but he is expected to be fit to lead the Gunners at Bayern. Will Arteta go back to playing Havertz up top with Jesus and Saka on the wings and Jorginho adding some extra defensive solidity in midfield? It feels like that would be the smart play.
