The Brothers Brick

World's no. 1 source for lego news, reviews, and fan creations., lego icons 40579 – eiffel’s apartment: a towering gift with purchase [review].

The massive Icons 10307 Eiffel Tower will be arriving on November 25th – and LEGO has a gift with purchase promotion that is tied about as tightly to the French landmark as you can get. Gustave Eiffel’s private apartment, hidden on the third level of the tower, has been re-created in minifigure scale for Icons 40579 Eiffel’s Apartment . We’re still waiting on the official word, but our guess is it is linked to the purchase of the 10307 Eiffel Tower so getting this “booster box” of 228 pieces carries an indirect price of US $629.99 | CAN $799.99 | UK £554.99 . Does this set make the overall tower more appealing? Come along as we take an early look!

The LEGO Group provided The Brothers Brick with an early copy of this set for review. Providing TBB with products for review guarantees neither coverage nor positive reviews.

Unboxing the parts, instructions and sticker sheet

Eiffel’s apartment comes in a small tab-sealed box with adult-collector style theming. That means a black background, minimal logos, and a greeble strip along the bottom edge. It also means a mandated age rating of “18+”.  As usual, that value is pretty much meaningless as a much younger builder could easily handle this set.

tour eiffel lego promo

The sticker sheet in our review copy came balled up around the parts bags, arriving in less than pristine condition. Leaving it to sit under a heavy book for a while helped smooth out the worst bends, and luckily there weren’t any actual creases to deal with. All of the stickers are recreations of the apartment’s vintage 1880’s wallpaper. It’s unsurprising that LEGO would opt for stickers rather than a large batch of more-or-less single-use prints, even if I could have seen these showing up in a City Modular building at some future point.

tour eiffel lego promo

The build for the apartment is pretty straightforward, consisting of mostly studs-up brick and plate stacking. There is a nice technique at the very center, though, where a small 2×2 turntable is used to rotate the stud orientation 45 degrees, locked in place by the corner plate below it.

tour eiffel lego promo

The walls of the apartment sport some intricate sticker work. There’s very little repetition here, and I can imagine that the sticker sheet will be one of the most in-demand aftermarket pieces from this set. (Particularly as there are no unique parts to be had elsewhere.)

tour eiffel lego promo

Assembled, the gaps around the edges of the stickers wreck the illusion of wallpaper a bit. One tip I’d pass along – don’t put the stickers on the wedge-shaped pieces until the wall is assembled. You’ll have a better chance of aligning the trim designs across bricks.

tour eiffel lego promo

The center of the room is dominated by a large beam from the tower structure. This sub-build attaches to the floor via the yellow clips on that 2×2 turntable I mentioned earlier. The connection is pretty firm, and the beam will survive the jostling it’ll endure as the other apartment furnishings go in.

tour eiffel lego promo

The interior gets some set dressing with a wooden desk, chair, and table. The desk has a small lamp and a 1×2 tile with a printed envelope pattern. In a bit of meta reclusiveness, there’s also a small model of the Eiffel Tower itself perched on a small display table.

tour eiffel lego promo

As micro-scale renditions of the Eiffel tower go, it’s not bad. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention a couple of issues, though. The main flaw is that the tower is floating above the table top – the 1×1 transparent brick used to hold it up is 1/3rd of a plate too tall. I’m also not sold on the use of pistols for the lower level’s legs – it’s creative, but the shaping feels off to me. It’ll be interesting to see if any LEGO fans share an alternate design to swap out with this one.

Or maybe this is just a concept of the Eiffel Rocket, caught mid-launch.

tour eiffel lego promo

The outside of the apartment has some necessary-feeling railings and a couple of telescopes. I wasn’t able to find anything to indicate how true-to-life these details are, but they seem pretty reasonable.

tour eiffel lego promo

The finished model

As seen on the box, Gustave fits well into his apartment. There’s not a lot of room for him to move around, but this is clearly meant to be a display piece and not a playset.

tour eiffel lego promo

Comparing the completed model to a photo of the actual apartment, you can see that LEGO was able to match the look pretty well. The only choice that seems very off is the decision to make the beam dark grey instead of brown as seen here. The wallpaper design isn’t an exact match to the stickers either, but it’s close enough to feel representative.

tour eiffel lego promo

Mannequins of Thomas Edison and Gustave Eiffel in the apartment – Photo: Tour Eiffel / Facebook

Actually, the color of the outside is wrong, too. Since 1968 the entire tower has been painted in what’s called “Eiffel Tower Brown”. In fact, it’s never been grey ! I get why LEGO has needed to opt for grey elements, but it does downgrade the accuracy of every model a fair bit. I suppose having the interior support strut be grey matches the choice of the overall tower coloration. If you want to be generous about it.

There’s just enough room for a minifigure to stand behind the telescopes and put them to use. Considering the apartment is almost 1000 feet in the air already, it must allow for quite the view of the Paris cityscape.

tour eiffel lego promo

The minifigure

This set contains a single minifigure – Gustave Eiffel himself. Sadly, there’s nothing unique about Gustave. His torso has been seen once before as part of Cedric Diggory’s outfit in  75948 Hogwarts Clock Tower and his face has had 8 previous appearances, often used for Ben Kenobi . His grey hair has shown up four times, including as part of Vernon Dursley in 75968 4 Privet Drive . His legs are plain black, so nothing special there at all.  Rarity aside, though, this is a unique combination of parts, and the likeness to Gustave is pretty close to the mannequin on display in the real apartment.

tour eiffel lego promo

Conclusion and recommendation

Eiffel’s Apartment is an interesting way for LEGO to expand the 10307 Eiffel Tower without directly ratcheting up the already high price and part count of that set. It recreates a minifigure-scale view of a part of the tower and considering the almost urban-legend quality of the hidden apartment, it’s also a conversation piece. The build itself is interesting, if not particularly complex. The included minifigure is a good likeness for Gustave Eiffel, although it doesn’t contain any unique elements.

Is this set worth getting? Well, if you’re already purchasing the 10307 Eiffel Tower set, then that’s an obvious “yes”. Will this set have any appeal for those who don’t want the larger offering? That’s a tougher call. For Eiffel fans on a budget, it might be tempting, but I can’t see too many casual LEGO fans seeking this one out. There are no unique elements aside from the sticker sheet, and the parts in general are all fairly common. Depending on the quantity produced, and how long the promotion lasts, you might consider socking your copy away if you’re not interested in finding even more display space for Eiffel constructions. You might be able to (eventually) make someone’s day who wasn’t able to escape the $630 US price the second the larger set hit the shelves.

tour eiffel lego promo

Icons 40579 Eiffel’s Apartment . is a gift with purchase that we guess is linked is to the purchase of the 10307 Eiffel Tower, which is listed at US $629.99 | CAN $799.99 | UK £554.99 . It may also be available via third-party sellers on Amazon and eBay .

Review: LEGO 10307 Eiffel Tower (2022)

tour eiffel lego promo

It’s not every day that LEGO crosses the 10,000-piece mark, or gives us a model that’s almost 1.5 metres (4.8 feet) tall, but that day has arrived with 10307 Eiffel Tower , one of LEGO’s most ambitious and impressive models to date.

Releasing on Black Friday 2022 (that’s 25 November), LEGO revisits the Eiffel Tower at this grand scale, making it the tallest LEGO set ever, and one of the most visually impressive.

Like the French icon, this LEGO set is a marvel of engineering, and I think is one of the best LEGO sets this year, BUT.. it’s certainly not for everyone due to its high price, and most importantly, the sheer size of the model. Even if you can afford it when it launches on LEGO.com on Black Friday, you need to seriously plan out where you’re going to place this set (as well as build it), so this really isn’t in the impulse buy category.

That said, I really enjoyed the build, and the end results, so let’s jump straight into my review!

See below for regional pricing and product links:

  • 10307 Eiffel Tower [US]  – US$629.99
  • 10307 Eiffel Tower [AUS]  – AU$999.99
  • 10307 Eiffel Tower [UK]  – £554.99
  • 10307 Eiffel Tower [EU]  – €629.99
  • 10307 Eiffel Tower [CA]  – CAD$799.99

If you order 10307 Eiffel Tower from 25-28 November, you’ll also qualify for the 40579 Eiffel’s Apartment set, which contains a Gustave Eiffel minifigure!

If you’re planning on ordering the LEGO Eiffel Tower, please consider using these affiliate links as I may receive a small commission with each purchase. It goes a long way in supporting the work I do on the blog!

Special thanks to LEGO for providing this set for review.

The Unboxing Experience

tour eiffel lego promo

As you can expect from a set this size, the box is huge and weigh almost 13 kgs, so your postman better have strong arms, or you’ll ideally want a trolley to cart it from the LEGO Store to your car.

The unboxing experience was quite nice, the outer box itself is pretty bland with the now ubiquitous big black boring LEGO for Adults box. Opening the box reveals 3 inner boxes, with a really classy and elegant graphic design signifying which stage of the box you’re about to tackle.

tour eiffel lego promo

Stacked up, the art on the boxes connect to form a blueprint-like diagram of the Eiffel Tower on the side.

The Eiffel Tower is split up into 3 main sections, and each box is fully self-contained, so this is technically a “Build Together” set, and you can share the joy of building with up to 2 other friends, which I recommend as it drastically cut down the build time, and mount of repetition by sharing the load.

tour eiffel lego promo

Here’s a look at the three instruction manual booklets, which has the shared black and gold motif.

tour eiffel lego promo

On the inside are plenty of fun facts about the history of the Eiffel Tower, and Gustave Eiffel who was primarily responsible for bringing it to life (although he didn’t contribute the design!), and how this 324m wrought-iron marvel came about and ultimately became one of Europe’s most well-known landmarks.

Admittedly, I didn’t know much about Gustave Eiffel and the Eiffel Tower (France and Paris is on the to-visit list), but after building this set, I would absolutely love to see it with my own eyes sooner rather than later.

The Building Experience

tour eiffel lego promo

So I was initially dreading the building experience because I feared how repetitive and boring it would be. I still have flashbacks of 10276 Colosseum , which wasn’t the most enjoyable builds due to slightly different tan wedge after another.

I did take the Rok Zgalin Kobe’s advice (I’ll share my interview with him soon!), and had a few Eiffel Tower documentaries, videos and podcasts prepared for the build.

tour eiffel lego promo

At 10,001 pieces, this is a long build, and it’s not recommended to blitz through it, and I’m pleased to say that I actually had a really enjoyable time building it, going so far as to say that the build itself IS one of the main drawcards of the set.

There are 74 (!!) numbered bags in the LEGO Eiffel Tower, which is the most I’ve ever encountered in a set.

tour eiffel lego promo

Yes, there are plenty of repetitive sections, and the lattices in particular get pretty dull after the 40th one, and you’re mostly building in dark grey BUT it didn’t drag on.

It took me about 15 hours to complete the build, and because you get the hang of the shapes after a while, and because the Eiffel Tower really is about engineering and precision, you get into a groove pretty quickly.

tour eiffel lego promo

The build was also very easy to follow and systematic, although there are some tricky bits, but it wasn’t frustrating at all in the slightest, mostly because I was intrigued by the structure, and was really eager to see how LEGO pulled the design off.

And because it’s so large, it’s also really satisfying seeing this incredible structure take shape in front of your very eyes.

The real Eiffel Tower took just over 2 years to build, and was slightly delayed for the opening of the 10th Exposition Universelle (World Fair) in 1889 of which it had been commissioned for, so 15 hours+ of solo building isn’t too bad.

I recorded myself building the set, so do check out this LEGO Eiffel Tower Speed Build to see how it comes together on my Youtube channel.

The Completed Model

It simply cannot be overstated just how huge and tall this model is, and (like the real Eiffel Tower) you’ll want to see it in person to fully appreciate the awe-inspiring scale, design and engineering that went into this set to make it happen.

tour eiffel lego promo

At 1.49m, this is LEGO’s tallest set yet, but what’s utterly bewildering is how its constructed, and despite its size, the force is distributed equally to all 4 legs at the bottom, and it manages to keep the entire structure up with just these clips on each leg.

Because of its huge footprint and height, this is really a statement piece, much like the LEGO Titanic and something you’ll need to get creative about to display.

tour eiffel lego promo

It’s likely going to end up on your floor as it looks quite silly on a table, and when it’s placed on ground level, you really get a proper sense of its height, as you use your own body as a frame of reference.

tour eiffel lego promo

The Eiffel Tower combines different looks from different eras that amalgamate in what designer Rok Zgalin Kobe feels is the “ideal” image and vision of the Eiffel Tower.

In the current day, the base of the Eiffel Tower has plenty of fencing and structures (and crowds!), but this version has sprawling open spaces, with mini trees, bushes, benches and lamp posts on the esplanade at the base.

tour eiffel lego promo

The trees are quite nice, and are helpful to establish a sense of scale!

tour eiffel lego promo

On each “leg”, you can also find these mini stalls, or ticket booths where you can hop on the lifts to ascend to the top.

tour eiffel lego promo

These red and yellow lifts, which you may remember from the original 10181 Eiffel Tower also make a welcome return!

tour eiffel lego promo

I cannot express just how impressive the engineering and design behind the LEGO Eiffel Tower’s legs are, to hold up the entire structure without using interlocking bricks, but these clips.

The downward force is distributed evenly between all four legs (which fun fact, points to the four cardinal directions), is just so cool to behold, and a great lesson on LEGO engineering.

tour eiffel lego promo

My least favourite part of the build are these arches, which like the real Eiffel Tower, have no load bearing capabilities and are just there for decorative purposes.

tour eiffel lego promo

They make use of newly recoloured dark grey roller coaster track to form the curves, which are really aesthetically pleasing, and this is a great new colour for the track.

tour eiffel lego promo

Unfortunately, I felt like the arches weren’t secured as well as they could, and if you accidentally bump into them (which happens a lot), or shake the legs, the arches tend to dislodge themselves quite easily as they aren’t fastened by enough bricks, and are suspended upside down as well.

tour eiffel lego promo

That said, on the fist platform, you’ll notice plenty of these repetitive patterns, which aren’t necessarily fun to build, but are really aesthetically pleasing.

tour eiffel lego promo

On the sides of the Eiffel Tower, 72  names of French  scientists , engineers, and mathematicians are engraved in recognition of their contributions, and they’re represented here by the dark grey “gold bar element”, with 18 on each side!

tour eiffel lego promo

And here’s a look at the first platform, before we continue upwards.

tour eiffel lego promo

Here’s a look at the second platform, where you’ll notice the use of new dark grey sausages for the arcs.

tour eiffel lego promo

The sausage is a most excellent and useful LEGO element I must say.

tour eiffel lego promo

Here’s the view as we head up.

tour eiffel lego promo

Of course, each section has more of these red and yellow elevators, slowly making the climb up on the inner collumn.

tour eiffel lego promo

Repetition and these intricate iron-wrought lattice that make the Eiffel Tower’s aesthetics so iconic draw the eye in, and the techniques employed to create this effect is simple, yet effective.

tour eiffel lego promo

Here’s the middle section.

tour eiffel lego promo

The Eiffel Tower narrows as it approaches the pinnacle, and here is the Top Platform, which among other things contains Gustave Eiffel’s apartment, offering commanding views of Paris.

tour eiffel lego promo

And at the top, amongst a clump of radio antenna, is a brick-built tricolore Flag, which is a direct throwback to the simple French flag on top of the set’s predecessor, 10181 Eiffel Tower .

Fun fact, the Eiffel Tower was meant to be disassembled after 20 years following the Exposition Universelle in 1889, but Gustave was a savvy and cunning operator, and managed to keep the tower intact by making it host scientific experiments, as well as radio antenna, which the French military found useful, and they decided to extend the life of the Eiffel Tower, and it ultimately stands to this day.

tour eiffel lego promo

To make it easy to transport (it’s not recommended to carry the entire Tower in one piece… although you can), and to clean or move around, the LEGO Eiffel Tower can split into these 3 parts, allowing you to reposition it with ease if you must.

There are no Technic pins holding these sections together, only good ole gravity, and they lock into each other with ease.

tour eiffel lego promo

Just how tall is the set? I’ll do a few more comparisons soon, possibly in its own separate post, but here’s the LEGO Eiffel Tower next to the 75313 UCS AT-AT , which was 2021’s Black Friday launch.

tour eiffel lego promo

And for a better frame of reference that hopefully more people can relate with, here it is next to the LEGO 92176 NASA Apollo Saturn which is just over 100cm tall.

tour eiffel lego promo

And here it is on ground level next to me – I’m about 172cm for reference!

tour eiffel lego promo

Oh, and don’t forget to stick your phone, or camera underneath for this view.

What I liked:

  • A marvel of LEGO engineering
  • Is the ultimate LEGO display centerpiece with stunning display presence thanks to its height
  • Incredibly fun and relaxing building experience in spite of repetition
  • Great value for its price

What I didn’t like:

  • Will be hard to display and not everyone has the space for it
  • Arches could’ve been secured better
  • Some repetitive sections in the build

FINAL THOUGHTS:

10307 Eiffel Tower was such a pleasant surprise, and I liked it a lot more than I initially thought I would. After seeing it in person in Billund, I was of course impressed by the height and scale, but came away fearing that the build would be bland, torturous and repetitive.

This clearly isn’t the case, and a lot of effort has been put into the building experience to make it quite intuitive, seamless and as pain-free as possible.

From the first bag, I was captured and hooked, and the anticipation in seeing this massive model come together was very enjoyable, and a testament to Rok Zgalin Kobe’s immense talent and efforts.

The end result is stunning, one of the most awe-inspiring retail models that LEGO has ever produced. Seriously, if you were to see 10307 Eiffel Tower at a LEGO Fan Convention, you’d walk away impressed and awed, so being able to translate that into a set you can walk into a store to buy, AND make it accessible, even for new adult builders cannot be overstated.

That said, this isn’t for everyone. I think the set is great value (especially since it’s US$629 instead of US$679.99 ), and you’re left with a huge LEGO showpiece. It’s still a LOT of money, and this ultimately puts it out of reach for many LEGO fans, especially those that have been hit hardest by inflation, or have other more important priorities.

But this isn’t an impulse buy, and not something that you’d be expected to buy every month. Like any other large expensive models that precede it like the 9,090-piece LEGO Titanic , it’s a large purchase that you really have to want, and likely budget and plan for.

Speaking of planning, you definitely want to plan ahead as it has a footprint of 57 x 57cm, and is of course awkwardly tall, so placing it on a desk or shelf doesn’t really work.

tour eiffel lego promo

While LEGO is targeting a very specific type of customer with 10307 Eiffel Tower (affluent, has enough space and wants a 1.5m Eiffel Tower to build and display), ultimately, I’m glad the set exists.

tour eiffel lego promo

If you need space, you can also use the set as a very expensive garden ornament. Only half-joking, I think it might look pretty good outdoors.

At its core, this really is a triumph of engineering, and I’m still blown away by the techniques used in the set, and that this is even possible with LEGO bricks.

The aesthetics, size and how accurate it looks are really secondary to me, and that it stands so well constructed pleases me to no end.

If this is the type of LEGO set that appeals to you, and you have the means, I definitely recommend getting 10307 Eiffel Tower, even at launch (25 November), as you’ll get a really neat 40579 Eiffel’s Apartment gift with purchase (GWP) for your trouble, as well as a bunch of other bonuses as part of LEGO’s Black Friday offering .

I’m glad that we now live in an age where LEGO can and is taking huge risks like this. While the second half of 2022 has seen many disappointing big and expensive releases, 10307 Eiffel Tower bucks the trend by delivering a satisfying and exceptional LEGO experience that’s unlike anything that has come before it.

Like the Titanic, I can see this set doing really well with fans, and those wanting a LEGO experience like no other that befits the LEGO Icons branding.

Rating   and score: 4/5  ★★★ ★✰

Build [4]  – Really enjoyed the flow of the build, despite the repetition. It was quite relaxing, much like puzzle building. Real Value [4]  – It’s expensive but good value, especially if you factor in the Eiffel Apartment GWP Innovation [5]  – Incredible LEGO engineering at work here, without the need for new or fancy elements. Just good ole math and design ingenuity. Coolness [5]  – One of the world’s best known landmarks, at this scale, made out of LEGO. Doesn’t get any cooler than that Keepability [4]  – You will likely not disassemble it as it’s a big investment, unless you really need the space back

Official details:

FALL IN LOVE WITH THE LEGO® EIFFEL TOWER – THE TALLEST SET YET! 15th November 2022:  The LEGO Group has today revealed its tallest build yet – the breath-taking new LEGO® Eiffel tower set. One of the world’s most recognisable landmarks, the new LEGO set will immediately transport you to the heart of Paris. Embodying the famous landmark’s height and standout architecture, this towering LEGO set reaches a magnificent 149cm / 58inches / 4.8ft tall once built, making it the ultimate statement in brick form. A magnificent way to add a new display piece to your home, the 10,001 piece set is designed to authentically replicate the momentous wrought iron tower – complete with the beautiful truss-work, three observation platforms, landscaping, elevators, an office at the top and a broadcast tower and the Tricolore flag at its peak. The set can also be separated into four sections, making it manageable to build, move and play with. The Eiffel tower was constructed from 1887 to 1889 as the centrepiece of the 1889 World’s Fair. Despite receiving initial criticism for its design, it has since become a global, cultural icon and one of the most recognisable structures in the world. Describing the process of designing the new set, Rok Žgalin Kobe, LEGO Designer comments: “We wanted to find the ultimate LEGO expression for the engineering and architectural masterpiece that is the Eiffel tower. We followed the structural principles of the original tower as closely as the LEGO System would allow. During the build you’ll uncover interesting, novel LEGO building techniques that bring the tower’s architectural features to life in LEGO bricks. Once complete you can imagine the breath-taking feeling of standing at the top and looking across the rich history of the city of Paris. It is the perfect set for travel and architecture fans alike.” The LEGO Eiffel Tower set is available from 25th November 2022 via LEGO Stores and at  LEGO.com/Eiffel  at the recommended retail price of $629.99 / €629.99 / £554.99.

Discounts: make the most of great deals with the Eiffel Tower

Thursday 24 November 2022

Modified the 16/12/22

Why not take advantage of that quiet spell before the festive season to recharge your batteries in exceptional cultural venues in and around Paris? We have signed partnerships with the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac and the Palace of Versailles to offer discounts on admissions to visitors to all three venues! The details are below.

But don’t delay, the offer is valid for a very limited period only: from November 28, 2022 to December 16, 2022 inclusive.

Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac: €3 off a full-price ticket

Vue depuis le musée du quai Branly

Just a stone’s throw away from the Eiffel Tower, at 37 Quai Branly, the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac offers an extraordinary immersive experience in the arts and civilisations of Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas, via a collection of 3,500 works and objects and fascinating themed exhibitions. If you are heading to the 7th arrondissement to visit the Eiffel Tower, you can easily combine your trip with a visit to the museum. The museum also has a pay parking lot, which is very convenient for any of our visitors coming by car. So, take advantage of our partnership with our prestigious neighbor.

When you come to visit the Eiffel Tower (you can purchase tickets on site or e-tickets via our online ticket office), you can benefit from a €3 discount on "full price" ticket(s) purchased at the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac admissions desk, i.e., €9 instead of €12 (1 Eiffel Tower ticket = €3 off one Musée du Quai Branly ticket). Just go to the museum’s ticket office with your Eiffel Tower ticket(s) (Keep them carefully! E-tickets presented on cell phones are accepted) to get the €3 discount on each ticket for the museum.

The offer is valid for any Eiffel Tower ticket purchased between November 28, 2022 and December 16, 2022 inclusive and for a visit to the Musée du Quai Branly between the same dates.

Check out the rates, discounts and free admission conditions for the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac.

Palace of Versailles: 10% discount on an adult “passport” ticket

Galerie des glaces du Château de Versailles

The former residence of the kings of France, the palace and its gardens are unique and magical locations! The Palace of Versailles is located in the Yvelines department and can easily be reached from Paris via the RER C line , with easy connections to the Eiffel Tower (Champ de Mars - Eiffel Tower station).

Eiffel Tower visitors with tickets or e-tickets for the Eiffel Tower will benefit from a 10% discount on the public price of a “full-price” adult "passport" ticket that gives visitors access to the palace and the estate (i.e., €19.50 instead of €21.50 ). The discount is only available for on-line purchases of tickets on the Palace of Versailles ticketing website by entering a promotional code. The promotional code for the Palace of Versailles can be found on your Eiffel Tower purchase confirmation email : a link to a web page dedicated to discounts reserved for our customers displays the code. Visitors who have bought a ticket on site will be able to find the internet link via a QR Code at the information desk by the west pillar of the Eiffel Tower.

The offer is valid for any Eiffel Tower ticket purchased between November 28, 2022 and December 16, 2022 inclusive, and for a visit to the Palace of Versailles between the same dates.

Check out the rates, discounts and free admission conditions for the Palace of Versailles.

Every LEGO Promo & GWP in November 2023: VIP Weekend & Black Friday

LEGO November 2023 Insider Weekend & Black Friday Promos & GWPs

Like almost every month, there will be many new sets as well as some promotions and freebies in the LEGO shop.

This time in November however, the Insiders or formerly VIP Weekend and Black Friday at LEGO are also around the corner! To give you an overview, we've summarized all promos rumored so far in this post.

Although some of the promo sets haven't been revealed just yet, we'll update the post as soon as more images or information come out. Please also note that most of the information isn't officially confirmed yet and can therefore still change.

LEGO Insiders (VIP) Weekend from November 18th - 19th

LEGO Insiders Weekend 2023 Banner

Like every year LEGO's VIP weekend will again take place in 2023. This time however under its new name Insiders Weekend, after the rebranding of the LEGO VIP program to LEGO Insiders.

As the name suggests, a LEGO Insiders account will probably be required to qualify for the promos available, which however is free to sign up for. The Insiders Weekend will take place on November 18th & 19th this year.

Majisto's Magical Workshop GWP

LEGO Creator 40601 Majisto's Magical Workshop GWP

Following 40567 Forest Hideout from 2022 with the revival of another old classic set as a remake, Majisto's Magical Workshop will be available as a gift with purchase on the Insiders Weekend.

The set consists of 365 pieces and includes Majisto as well as a knight as Minifigures. The Workshop will be included with all purchases of $250 or more.

  • Name: Majisto's Magical Workshop
  • Set Number: 40601
  • Availability: November 18th - 19th
  • Threshold: $250
  • Pieces: 365
  • Minifigures: 2

Winter Market Stall GWP

LEGO Creator 40602 Winter Market Stall GWP

In keeping with the Christmas season, the second GWP set available on Insiders Weekend will be a winter market stall. The set will consist of 271 pieces and include 2 Minifigures .

This one will already be available with smaller purchases than the Majisto set, having a spend threshold of $170 .

  • Name: Winter Market Stall
  • Set Number: 40602

  • Pieces: 271

Winter Holiday Train GWP

LEGO 30584 Winter Holiday Train GWP

With purchases of $40 or more, the smallest of the 3 GWPs available on Insiders Weekend will be the Creator Winter Holiday Train polybag.

This one however will only be available in stores and not online. Just like with all other polybags listed in this post, it's possible that the availability may vary between regions.

  • Name: Winter Holiday Train
  • Set Number: 30584
  • Availability: November 18th - 19th (in store only, possibly region dependent)
  • Threshold: $40

2x LEGO Insiders (VIP) Points

In addition to the two GWPs, there will also be double Insiders points on the Insiders Weekend, which can also only be collected with a LEGO Insiders account.

LEGO Black Friday from November 24th - 27th

LEGO Black Friday 2023 Banner

Majisto's Magical Workshop & Winter Market Stall GWP

Even if you don't want to register for a LEGO Insiders account, there will probably be another opportunity to receive the Majisto and Market Stall GWPs.

Rumoredly the two GWPs from Insiders Weekend will once again be available on Black Friday, like in previous years. The same thresholds from the Insiders Weekend should again apply here.

Snowman GWP

LEGO 30645 Snowman GWP

On Black Friday we'll again get a small polybag in addition to the two larger GWPs. This time it'll be the 30645 Snowman from the Creator line, which will be included with all purchases above $40 . Also with this one there could be deviations between regions.

  • Name: Snowman
  • Set Number: 30645
  • Availability: November 24th (possibly region dependent)

Avengers Tower Taxi GWP

LEGO Marvel Tower Avengers Taxi GWP leak

To coincide with the release of the Avengers Tower there will be another gift with purchase with the Avengers Tower Taxi, a first image of which has already surfaced.

The set consists of 150 pieces and includes a taxi as well as Black Panther, 2 Chitauri and the taxi driver as Minfigures. The gift will be available from November 24th exclusively with purchase of the Avengers Tower while stocks last.

  • Name: Avengers Tower Taxi
  • Set Number: 5008076
  • Availability: November 24th - 27th
  • Threshold: Avengers Tower
  • Pieces: 150
  • Minifigures: 4

Sale on selected sets

As is usual on Black Friday, there will presumably be discounts on several sets and products in the LEGO shop, in addition to the other promotions. However, we don't yet know how many sets will be on sale and whether the offers will actually be worthwhile.

What do you think about the November promos? Will you get any of them? Let us know in the comments!

Waited till Midnight tonight to order the eiffel tower so I could get that fleece blanket. Instead it's just 2 tiny lame lego city and friends sets.

Great giveaways! Why no x2 VIP points, kind of confused?

So no x2 points on actual Black Friday…ugh. Why does Lego like to do double points the weekend before Black Friday.

They've been doing this to get people to buy every weekend. Way, way back, years ago they only did all the gifts w/purchase, etc all the same weekend, now they split 'em all up, each week to get people buying every weekend in Nov.

Well they dont want to give you double points on a very expensive popular set that comes out the following weekend

Lit! I hope they have good sales on BF.

WELL LITE EASY TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS SHIPPED QUICKLY GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. WHATS NOT TO LIKE?

A lot of work but great upgrade

The room for improvement: The photos have a few focus issues making them harder to follow and a few had me make more assumptions than I was comfortable with because they essentially skipped what we were supposed to do. I appreciate the Lego-like image instructions but some direction text would have greatly helped me and my confidence. Also some of the wound up cables (for neatness in packing) were hard to undo without causing kinks. I was very afraid of them breaking. The color programmed modes don’t let you change to the same colors. I may just nothave the remote figured out yet but it doesn’t reliably do the same thing twice. Put a piece of tape to mark where to start them to get the right length of tails when you’re done. Maybe 1/2 way points too and capture that in the photos so you can adjust if you’re not at the right spot without gauging to unwind it all. Also what is the thick USB cable for? I can’t find the photo for what to do with it.

The good: you start worrying that it’s not enough lights and you should have gone with the more expensive competitor kit but it really surprises you when you turn it on. These review photos are accurate. It looks great. They’re delicate and harder than the Lego kit was to build (and frustrating because there are parts of the Lego kit that are very determined to fall off while doing the lights). It also made me the envy of every Lego geek friend I have! Totally worth it. They’ve put a ton of work into putting this kit…

Extraordinaire

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Best of Moscow by high speed train

Sure would appreciate someone who has taken "Best of Moscow by high speed train" from St. Petersburg could please share their impressions of this shore excursion. From the description this sounds like a very long day.

Wondering how the 4 hour train trip was in terms of accommodations, etc. Also what time did you leave the ship and what time at night did you return? Were both legs of the trip on the high speed rail (I read that slower trains also travel the same tracks)?

My wife and I are considering this excursion. We thought that if we are making all the effort to go to Russia then how could we pass up going to Moscow, walking in Red Square, seeing St. Basil, etc.

If you are considering this on the 2015 June Baltic cruise on Voyager; my suggestion is don't. There is so much to do in St. Petersburg and although a train is one of my favorite ways to travel the time would be far better spent in St. P.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, this would be on the Voyager during the 2015 season but not yet sure exactly which cruise.

We did the Moscow excursion "on a different luxury line", but from your brief description it sounds very much like the same trip, so I will operate on that assumption. It is a VERY long day! We left the ship at 5:30 AM and returned at 12:30 AM. The highspeed train trip is comfortable, and while they call it "Business Class" it does not compare well to the equivalent class on say Rail Europe. When we did it in 2011, we did have highspeed both ways, and the trip back seemed much longer as the adrenaline and excitement had worn off!:D

Moscow itself is not that terribly different from any other big city in the world, but this Cold War kid never thought he would ever stand in Red Square, never mind walk the grounds of The Kremlin, or tour The Kremlin Palace, or see (but not visit) Lenin's Tomb, or visit The Armoury. But he did, and he loved every minute of it! Yes, it is a long day, and you barely scratch a scratch on the surface, but it is worth it. There is a tremendous amount to see in St. Petersburg, but every Baltic cruise goes to St. Petersburg, so you can go back if you choose to. Not every cruiseline offers you the chance to see Moscow.

I have not personally done this tour, but our last time in St Petersburg, the private guide that we hired for a day was leading the regent tour to Moscow on the high speed train the next day. He said it was way better than the previous alternative, which was flying to Moscow and back. He said that you actually got to Moscow faster because you didn't have to deal with airline checkin etc. it did seem like a very long day to me, and there is so much to see and do in st. Petersburg that I didn't consider doing it.

We toured to Moscow from St. Petersburg via the hi-speed SAPSAN train last September, from a Baltic cruise on the Oceania Marina. You need to have a two-night, three day port call in St. Petersburg to take this tour because the tour typically leaves the ship around 5:00 - 5:30 AM and doesn't return until after midnight the next day. We didn't take the ship's tour; we made private arrangements with TravelAllRussia for three days of touring, the first and third days in St. Petersburg and the second day the tour to Moscow by train. Our cost for the private tour for three days was about the same as what the ship charged for the excursion to Moscow alone. There are a number of private tour agencies that operate in St. Petersburg and offer the Moscow train tours; we would strongly recommend them over the ship's tours.

All three days had private guides with car and driver. The second day, the driver picked us up at the ship and took us to the train, but we were alone on the train, and met in Moscow by the guide on the station platform. After our tour and dinner, we were brought back to the train and after the return train trip met by the driver and taken back to the ship. Because you are alone on the train you must have your own Russian visas.

If this is your first visit to St. Petersburg, I would agree there is much more to see there. We found Moscow somewhat a disappointment, particularly Red Square. The Kremlin and the cathedral in Red Square were also worth seeing. But the best thing we saw was the Moscow subway! I worked for the Washington Metro system back in the 1980s as it grew from 40 to 80 miles and although I was in the computer area, I learned a lot about the challenges of running a subway system. We used the Moscow system to get across the city from where we had dinner to the train station, and I was amazed at the cleanliness', speed of operation, the short headways maintained, and the courtesy of everyone involved. A very impressive experience!

We had been to St. Petersburg before, and so had the time to take a day and go to Moscow. Also, I really like trains, and the SAPSAN is a German train set running on Russian rails. Seats are like first class domestic air, spacious but not too plush or comfortable, but with enough room. Not too much recline, and almost 8 hours on the train in two shots is a lot for an old man. They come through and sell drinks, candy, etc. but the sellers don't speak English and no one around us helped, so we had just poor coffee once coming, and brought stuff with us for the trip back. Not too much to see from the train either, particularly on the return when it is night the whole way.

If you decide to go, take a private tour and avoid the overly expensive ship's tour. I'm glad we did it, but wouldn't bother to repeat the tour; we've seen Moscow.

Thanks so much to all of you for the thorough and thought insight. Yhe information you have provided is most helpful.

countflorida: Your detailed post is very helpful. We are not quite ready for a Baltic cruise but should do so within a year. Time enough to do our pre travel research, bookings and visa gathering.:) Thank you!

We thought that if we are making all the effort to go to Russia then how could we pass up going to Moscow, walking in Red Square, seeing St. Basil, etc.

I did this on Seabourn. IMO DONT. Take Aeroflop (er Aeroflot). The train has non folding seats where you are literally knee to knee with your fellow passenger (facing each other). Further they don't believe in air conditioning. It's also the worlds slowed bullet train. I think I would have found more enjoyment wandering around the St. Petersburg and Moscow airports.

Countflorida,

This is a little off topic,, however we had planned a river cruise in Russia but decided we would rather stay on land and have booked about two weeks with Travel-All-Russia using the private guide and driver. I'm curious as to how you found them as a tour company.

The guides they provided were fine. We had a different guide each of the days in St. Petersburg, but both were flexible, pleasant, knowledgeable and spoke English very well, as did the guide in Moscow, incidentally. She was a bit aloof, distant, not too friendly, but otherwise fine. In fact, she was the one who suggested taking the Metro, which unexpectedly became one of the highlights of the Moscow excursion. If I have a complaint with AllTravelRussia, it is with their plan and its execution (more later).

I had requested emphasis on World War II (in Russia, the Great Patriotic War) sites and info. In scheduling us, they weren't careful about dates and a couple of the sites we wanted to see were scheduled on the third day, after we'd been to Moscow. But both sites were closed that day of the week, and that info was readily available, right on web sites describing them. Also, the included meals (lunches in St. Pete, dinner in Moscow) were not what we asked for: light meals with some choices, so we could avoid things we didn't like and choose things we did like. My request was ignored; we were given full Russian meals with a fixed menu, no choice. On the first day, a fish dish was the entre, but I am allergic to fish. Fortunately, I had the e-mail I'd sent with me and showed it to the guide, and she was able to change my entre to chicken, which was very good actually. But we didn't want a 3-4 course lunches or dinner (in Moscow). We had the guide drop the lunch the third day, although we never got any credit or refund. But, particularly in contrast to the ship's tours, the prices were so reasonable we didn't worry too much about it.

The people who were on the ship's tour to Moscow saw us boarding the same train for which they were forced to queue up and wait on the way back, and asked us what we had done. I was candid and open so they were not happy when I explained what we had arranged and particularly what it had cost. Also, when we returned to the ship, we found they had laid on a late supper for those who had gone to Moscow, so up we went and had something. Well, it turns out the late supper was supposed to be just for those on the ship's tour, but we and others on 'independent' tours, there were a dozen or more of us, crashed the party, actually got there first, and they didn't realize it until the larger group arrived and there weren't enough tables/places set. By that time, the 'independents' had all gotten served and were eating; what could they do?

A couple from the larger group sat down with us and asked us about our tour, and they were the ones I told about our arrangement and its cost. They turned to others who’d been with them and announced the details, loudly enough so the whole room heard, which started a lot of bitching and complaining. I gathered they weren't very happy with the ship's tour to begin with, and this was the straw that broke the camel's back. We finished up and beat it out of there, but overheard later that one of the excursion staff came to check on something and ran into a real mess. I caught a cold on the trip, which forced me to bed the second day following in Tallinn, so by the time we reappeared we heard about the contretemps' but apparently no one recalled who started it, thankfully.

Because of what happened to us, I would probably not use AllTravelRussia if I were to go again, or if I did, I would be sure to get confirmation of every detail of the tour. They do have good reviews generally, and we were certainly helped by their visa department and liked the guides and drivers. Their weakness, I say now with full 20:20 hindsight, is that once the sales person who plans the tour, sells it to you and collects your money, he (or she) transfers the plan to their Russia office for implementation; there is no follow-up to make sure it gets done right. And that is where our problems arose; we paid for a custom tour but got a standard package with a few destinations switched, and no one checked them out, even to see when they were open the day we were scheduled to go. If you check every detail that’s important to you, it should be OK, but that’s a hell of a way to have to do business, in my opinion.

Thank you for the 20/20 hindsight observation on your Russian tour operator, and better priced than the ship's excursion cost.

Thanks very much for the feedback.

We had the same experience as you so far as price. We originally booked a Viking Cruise but, hearing some things about the river cruises that made us unhappy, looked into other options. T-A-R cost the same or less than a cruise and had us in hotels for 11 days. We opted for the private tour. They have three tour levels, based on hotels. We originally opted for the four star as it did not cost much more than the three star hotels. Finally we decided to throw it all in and upgraded to five star. In Moscow we will be at the newly opened Kempinsky which is two blocks from Red Square. In St. Petersburg it is the Grand Hotel Europe, one of the most vaunted luxury hotels in Russia. Location is important for us as the tours use up only part of the day so being in the center of everything for our independent touring is important. As with many other cities, the less you pay, the farther out of the center of town you are.

We have been working with our salesman in D.C. and he seems to get back to us with the changes we want. He recently returned from Russia so is up on everything. When I asked they said they paid the full TA commission if I wanted so I got my usual TA on board so he is watching our back and giving us that extra level of comfort. He also set up our air, which I know pays him little or nothing, and got us business class for much less than T-A-R wanted for economy, though it took working for a while with a consolidator. He's happy to get his 10 percent on this trip without having booked it. He also took care of the trip insurance. We've been doing a lot of research on the CC sister site Trip Advisor and will write a report there. We will, I guess, become a source of info for CC members after having spent 5 days in Moscow and 6 in SP.

Specifications

Presenting the LEGO® Architecture interpretation of one of the most iconic landmarks ever constructed – The Eiffel Tower! Designed and built by French entrepreneur, Gustave Eiffel, the original 324-meter-tall masterpiece of wrought iron engineering formed the grand entrance to the 1889 World’s Fair, held in Paris to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. During construction, the 18,038 wrought iron elements making up the tower’s lattice structure were bolted together at Eiffel’s factory on the outskirts of Paris, before being transported to the site, hoisted into place by steam-powered cranes operating from the elevator shafts, and assembled using no less than 2.5 million individual rivets. The resulting structure was extremely rigid and over the years has withstood storms, floods and everything else mother nature has thrown at it. Today, The Eiffel Tower is one of the world’s most popular landmarks, attracting millions of curious visitors from around the world each year. With this exceptional model, you can now build your very own 321-piece Eiffel Tower in LEGO brick form and display it in your home, office or wherever you like!

  • Build a detailed model of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France!
  • Includes collectible booklet containing information about the design, architecture and history of the building
  • LEGO Architecture building toys are compatible with all LEGO construction sets for creative building
  • The Eiffel Tower measures 12 inches high, 4 inches wide, and 4 inches deep
  • 321 pieces – For boys and girls over the age of 12 years old
