Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) brought his Mainstream Sellout tour to the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on 04/10/22 accompanied by supporting acts Iann Dior and 44Phantom.

This was my third time seeing MGK live in the UK. Prior to this, I had seen him at both of his shows in Bristol but this was my first time seeing him at an Arena. I travelled to Birmingham and what a show it turned out to be!

Machine Gun Kelly, real name being ‘Colson Baker’ is a genre-bending American artist from Cleveland, Ohio. He has collaborated with the likes of Lil Wayne, Halsey, Yungblud, Little Mix, Trippie Redd, The Kid Laroi and Travis Barker. I’ve been a fan for a long time now and attended a show on his 27 World Tour (2017) and the Hotel Diablo World Tour (2019). It has been a pleasure to see his progress from performing at 1,600/1,800 capacity venues in Bristol (UK) to now packing out a venue with nearly 17,000 capacity. This just goes to show that an artist doesn’t have to be defined by one music genre in order to be successful. Personally, I must say I actually prefer the route MGK is taking with his alternative rock albums. ‘Tickets to My Downfall’ has been on repeat for me since it originally came out!

Before MGK took to the stage, his fans were treated to two incredible support acts: 44Phantom and Iann Dior. I can’t really comment on their performances apart from the first 3 songs of both of their sets, due to me being escorted out of the main arena in between each act by the arena staff. It was a shame not to be able to listen to the whole set, as I have been listening to Iann Dior for a while since first hearing him on 24kGoldn’s huge record ‘Mood’, which he did perform during his set in Birmingham.

The lighting went dark just before Colson took to the stage and the Arena erupted with excitement as the fans waited in anticipation for their first glimpse of him. Amongst the darkness of the stage, I caught glimpses of Rook (drummer) and Baze (Bass) who have always remained with MGK when he performs live anywhere in the world. However, now the live band has a new addition and what a fantastic addition I might add. Sophie Lloyd who is a Rock/Metal Guitarist and Social Media Content Creator from London has been recruited by MGK to join him as one of his guitarists on his Mainstream Sellout tour. I first came across Sophie when I was scrolling on my for you page on TikTok. It’s inspiring to see how much of an impact social media can have on providing people like Sophie with opportunities like this. It was a pleasure to see her shred the strings in real life – what a talent she is. I was in awe of how electrifying her playing is!

MGK walked on stage with a gold sequin sleeve on his left arm and during the show, he told the fans that Ariel (The Little Mermaid) gave it to him and then humorously went on to say how bad of a joke it was! With an extravagant entrance, he started to climb a rope ladder attached to a pink helicopter to kick off the show and perform in mid-air above the stage. Throughout the concert, this pink helicopter played an important role, among a few other things, in immersing the fans in a creative storyline in between the live song performances. At one point in the show, pink confetti strings were fired out of cannons attached to the helicopter and slowly covered the crowd. To me, this almost resembled when an apache helicopter shoots flares from it.

The stage production, visuals and graphics were probably the greatest I’ve ever seen at any show in my life. It was clear to see that an enormous amount of time, effort and money had been put into this tour. The pyrotechnics were next level and I really wish I was able to carry on photographing and capture just how insanely spectacular it was from the crowd after photographing the first three songs in the pit area. The stage floor remained a black/white checkered pattern throughout, but the backdrop constantly changed as the show progressed. There were stairs so MGK and the band could perform on higher platforms, which provided the crowd with better glimpses of them. Spread around the stage on different steps of the stairs were television screens which regularly displayed different visuals. Halfway through the show, a mysterious figure appeared from the back left-hand side of the stage and Machine Gun Kelly often interacted and spoke with it. It had a body that resembled that of a human but possessed a head which appeared to be an enormous computer/TV screen. This figure became known to the crowd as ‘The Internet’. In my eyes, MGK was essentially referring to how people on the Internet try to put you down and keep you restricted in a box. If he listened to the opinions of people on the internet, MGK would never have ventured out and explored other avenues in his musical career, and probably would have never transformed from creating hip-hop/rap music to making fantastic alternative rock albums. The fans were asked to chant ‘F*ck The Internet’ alongside Machine Gun Kelly to the on-stage presence in regards to this message. Something which changes throughout every one of MGK’s tours is the visual appearance of the microphone stand, and this is something I have always noticed immediately. Looking back on videos I previously recorded when I attended the Hotel Diablo tour in 2019, the mic was designed like a cobra snake. This time on the Mainstream Sellout tour, however, the mic stand was two hands, with one higher to hold the actual mic and the other to hold a metal ashtray for MGK’s cigarettes that he smoked throughout the evening whilst performing. Absolute rockstar sh*t!

I was extremely excited that songs from the album ‘Tickets to my Downfall’ were performed at this show because, as I said previously in the review, this album has been on repeat since its release in 2020 during the Coronavirus pandemic. In all honesty, it is one of my favourite albums of all time because it’s one of those rare albums that I can listen to and not skip any song at all! During his setlist, MGK also performed songs from the Hotel Diablo project.

This was my most memorable time seeing Machine Gun Kelly live to date, as it was on my bucket list to get the opportunity to photograph him perform one day and I’m so grateful I was given the opportunity to accomplish this. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for Colson, and I hope he remains along the Alternative Rock route now but I will remain a fan no matter which direction he decides to take with his career.

44phantom Teams up With Machine Gun Kelly for New Single 'don't sleep, repeat'

The track was released alongside a new music video.

pixeltracker

Fresh off his opening slot at multi-platinum rock sensation Machine Gun Kelly's sold-out MAINSTREAM SELLOUT TOUR stop at Cleveland's FirstEnergy Stadium, grunge-pop artist 44phantom has released his brand-new single "don't sleep, repeat" featuring Machine Gun Kelly via RECORDS/Columbia Records.

"don't sleep, repeat," the first of many tracks from 44phantom executive produced by Machine Gun Kelly, leans into the rising star's signature style and finds MGK bringing his infectious flow to the track. Accompanying the song is the official music video directed by Andrew Sandler (blink-182, Tyga, Yungblud, 24kGoldn) starring both artists and filmed in 44's hometown of Seattle, WA.

In speaking about the collaboration with MGK, 44phantom says: ""I just think it's crazy that a couple of DMs from last year got us here. We finally got in the studio together and started talking about how we came from different but similar places and realized something we both struggled with were vices. So we decided to write a love song about it. It's really just a love song to our vices."

"don't sleep, repeat" is 44phantom's first offering since "I WON'T COMPLAIN" released last fall and his critically acclaimed EP die sometime, it's good for you, which he dropped last summer. The 8-track project features fan-favorites "freak," "gray!" and "sound off." 44phantom continues to resonate with listeners since his 2019 breakout hit "break your heart" with moody tracks such as "poison" and "don't fall," establishing himself as one to watch.

44phantom will continue his run on Machine Gun Kelly's MAINSTREAM SELLOUT TOUR in Europe, please find dates below.

Oklahoma-born and now L.A.-based by way of Seattle, 44phantom quietly generated over 2 million total streams independently and sparked buzz among a growing fanbase before signing with Records / Columbia Records earlier this year. Developing a passion for music at a young age, 44phantom watched his cousins perform in a popular local band, which lead him to pen his first song at eight-years-old.

Inspired by everyone from Kurt Cobain, Carrie Underwood, and Bob Dylan to Lil Wayne and Drake, 44phantom embraces rock influences and deep storytelling while detailing his journey from a small town to the doorstep of stardom. Adopting his name to honor his late second cousin and carry on his family's serendipitous connection to the number 44, Brayton Mathews is 44phantom.

Interview: Meet 44phantom, the Newest Addition to the Grunge-Pop Phenomenon

Katie Tymochenko July 9, 2021 Headline News , Interview Leave a comment

After growing a steady fan base independently, 44phantom recently signed a major label deal and has since been knocking on the door of pop music stardom. He was raised all over the United States and credits his genre-blending sound to his wide ranging span of influences, who include everyone from Kurt Cobain to Carrie Underwood and Drake. Labeled as “grunge-pop,” 44phantom has seen a spike in his generation-z following and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Music Existence: One thing that stood out in your bio was that you’re “Oklahoma-born, now based in LA, by the way of Seattle and Nashville.” How have all those geographical locations played into your sound?

44phantom: I do have a country influence just from growing up in Oklahoma, but Seattle really got me into grunge music just because it’s where I came from. My dad always loved it and just everybody talking about it all the time, I got pretty into Pearl Jam and Nirvana. It added an edge to my music that I feel like really wasn’t there before. Just the spirit of not really giving a fuck, you know? Kurt Cobain didn’t give a fuck. Eddie Vedder really didn’t give a fuck. So it kind of just inspired me to not care as much about rudimentary things and I feel like that really came across in my music.

ME: What about growing up in Oklahoma? Was there a scene that you attached yourself to?

44phantom: Growing up, even when I was really young, like four or five years old, my older cousins had a pretty popular local band and they’d do shows around the area and stuff. So I’d always go to those and perform with them. In terms of a scene, that’s probably the only one I really did attach myself to, but it really got me hooked on it from a young age.

ME: You’ve been labeled as a “grunge-pop” artist which we’ve seen a lot recently with  Yungblud or newer artists like  renforshort , but what is it about that rock sound from the 90s in Seattle that pairs so well with modern day pop music?

44phantom: That’s a really good question. I think probably just the fact that the 90s was kind of a collection of what had happened in 70s rock, 80s rock, but then it kind of had a pop crossover and radio play became so important. Now we’re in this point where radio kind of died a bit, but now streaming is a really big thing…. I think probably what makes it combine is just that people are finally finding a way to mix it with pop again, same thing they did with pop punk. But honestly it’s probably just because everybody’s dad listened to that music growing up.

ME: Do you worry about fitting into a certain lane?

44phantom: Not even a little bit. It annoys me that that’s how it is now with some people, but the genre was made to guide the listener, not the artist. Like if I’m just trying to make something and if somebody wants to call it a rock song, or a pop song, or a hip hop song, I don’t give a fuck. Whatever it takes for you to go ahead and listen to it, go for it. If you have to call it this to make yourself feel better, go for it. If you want to call it this, go for it. I just make the song and however it comes out, it comes out.

ME: You found a lot of success as an independent artist doing everything on your own but now you’ve signed to a major label. How has that jump been for you, transitioning to working with a bigger team with a lot more people involved.

44phantom: It got a lot busier for sure, but it’s nice. Although things get a little more hectic, it’s a good feeling to know you’re not having to do it all yourself. I’m not having to find a session every day to get in. I’m not having to DM producers and then hope they’re good. Like I’m not having to get YouTube beats sent to my email. You can tell it’s a step up.

ME: Your latest single  “don’t fall” just came out. What was the inspiration behind that song?

44phantom: I kind of got to this point where I felt like being in a relationship was probably not a good idea for me. I didn’t want to put somebody else in a position where I can’t really give a 100% of myself to them because of everything I’m doing. It’s basically just about that. But now I have a girlfriend so it’s going okay! I’m figuring it out.

ME: Is there any nerves or anxiety with releasing such a personal song like that?

44phantom: Honestly, not really. I feel like I would feel a lot more nervous if I was about to drop something that I thought was really corny and cookie cutter. I feel like if I’m just being honest in a song that’s all I can ask of myself.

ME: You also just released a video for “don’t fall.” What’s the collaboration process like when you’re working with directors?

44phantom: I do really want to trust their vision with it. If I don’t like something, I’ll tell them but I mean it’s really their job to just come up with a bunch of ideas and then kind of see what works. I mean, even the last one I said it needed to be very cinematic and dark with bright colors, and they kind of nailed it.

ME: Now that things are opening up and touring is looking more likely, have you thought about what it’s going to be like crafting a live show?

44phantom: A hundred percent. I mean, I do most of my music now with live drums or live sounding drums. I personally, I just think it gives a song the most energy anyway. But yeah, I want to have just a crazy live show!

44phantom’s new album  die sometime, it’s good for u   is out now.

Beyond The Stage Magazine

44phantom: How Moving Inspired His Music

44phantom 2

Brayton Matthews, known as 44phantom, is a Seattle-based emerging artist who walks the line of pop and rock with deep storytelling, helping him increase recognition in the grunge pop genre. He created the name 44phantom in honor of a late second cousin and his family’s connection to the number 44.

Since his debut single “ Break Your Heart ” released in 2019, he has individually racked up over 600K Spotify plays.

Though he didn’t release his debut single until 2019, 44phantom has been making music for a few years.

He shared with Beyond the Stage (BTS) what sparked his passion for music creation.

“I started making music around 3 years ago,” Matthews said. “I’ve always been around it growing up. One day I realized I needed to make music because there wasn’t anything else out there that felt like what I was going through.”

While he started creating music in a more professional way around 2017, he wrote his first song at eight-years-old.  A lot of his writing and recording stemmed from his move from Oklahoma to Seattle during sophomore year of high school. He experienced a culture shock, jumping from a school of 60 to 3,000 people. He then turned to writing and recording music to ease the transition.

However, his passion for creating music was something he realized when he was younger.

“I wanted to do this since I was a little kid,” he said. “For the longest time, I didn’t think it was realistic.”

Growing up, Matthews listened to everything from Kurt Cobain, Carrie Underwood, and Bob Dylan to Lil Wayne and Drake. Some of them even acted as an inspiration for him when creating his own music. Bob Dylan’s songwriting and Drake’s hooks stand out among them.

Speaking further on his musical influences, he shared that a Fleetwood Mac Fan favorite inspired one of his songs. “Landslide” served as an inspiration for his November single “all figured out.”

The icy guitar melody along with his soft vocal delivery explores an unrequited infatuation before eventually giving up. 44phantom penned the track and co-produced it with Jon Kilmer.

Watch the music video below.

“All figured out” follows his single “ let’s be friends ,” which landed on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Fresh Finds playlists upon its August 2020 release.

Earlier in the year, his EP  Bittersweet  came out in March. When asked about if much of it is based on personal experiences, he reflected back on his previous points about what inspired him to start making music.

“Yeah it is, like I said, I really like to write about what I’m going through.”

44phantom shared with BTS that “Poison” is his personal favorite from the EP.

It is also the most successful song on it. In his interview with us he shared why he thinks this song did so well compared to the others.

“I think it’s because the hook is dope!”

The song has over 408 thousand streams on Spotify, making it his second most played on the music service. The music video has also accumulated over 18 thousand views on YouTube.

Watch the music video below.

44phantom shared that he has some new songs and an EP in the works.

At the time of this interview, 44phantom had not released his latest single that came out yesterday on January 11. Issued with Sauce Only on streaming services, his song “holly” is the first of two being released in January 2021. They precede an upcoming project that will be announced in the near future.

Talking about what his new single means to him and what inspired it, Matthews shared.

“’Holly’ is about how fake this whole industry is. Just a bunch of people killing themselves while trying to keep it together.”

Before its release, 44phantom had shared that his favorite song he’s created wasn’t out yet. After the release of “holly,” we reached back out and asked if it was the song he referred to, and it was not. This means that even more great music is coming, especially if it beats “Poison” for that winning title!

While there aren’t any teasers he can share at this moment, make sure to keep up with him, especially towards the end of the month!

44phantom uk tour

As we drew closer to the end of the interview, we talked more about 44phantom’s goals for his music and his . He shared his ultimate goal as an artist with us.

“I want to be the biggest entertainer of all time. PERIOD.”

He also spoke on some of his entertainers who he would choose to see live if he could only go to one concert for the rest of his life.

“Nirvana. I never got to see them perform.”

Matthews included that Nirvana affects and stimulates his music by adding a sense of “not giving a f**k” to his music.

44phantom shared the exciting things 2021 hopefully has in store for his music career.

“Yeah we have a lot of releases planned and some cool stuff we’re excited to share soon!”

He also talked about his excitement for planning and performing at live shows in the future in a safer world. A full-on tour is even being considered and is possibly in the works for this year. In speaking on it, he said.

“I’m very excited about it!… We’re definitely going to try and get on the road this year.”

To best keep up with 44phantom in 2021, follow him on Instagram @44phantom . Make sure to stay tuned this month to hear more about his projects and possible shows!

About 44phantom

44phantom is the performing moniker of Oklahoma-born artist Brayton Matthews, who traffics in an emotionally turbulent blend of alternative rock, indie pop, and post-grunge. He found mainstream favor in 2019 with the streaming hit "Break Your Heart" and capitalized on that success in 2021 with the Machine Gun Kelly collaboration "Don't Sleep Repeat." His debut long-player, All My Bad Feelings, arrived in 2023.

Taylor Swift The Eras Tour

Lloyds Bank is aiming to help Taylor Swift fans in the UK avoid a cruel summer. The bank has issued an “urgent warning” over ticket scams for the upcoming UK leg of the superstar’s Eras Tour, finding that Swifties are being “targeted by a wave of concert ticket scams flooding social media.”

The institution further estimates that industry-wide across the UK there are likely to have been at least 3,000 victims since tickets went on sale, with over £1 million ($1.25 million) lost to fraudsters so far.

More than 90% of reported cases start with fake ads or posts on Facebook, which includes Facebook Marketplace, according to Lloyds, with dozens of unofficial groups set up specifically for people looking to buy and sell tickets for Taylor Swift concerts.

Lloyds warned, “With all UK dates now sold out, many more fans are likely to fall victim to ticket scams in the coming weeks and months, both leading up to the tour and once the concerts begin in June.”

In its research, Lloyds found that the number of reported scam cases relating to concert tickets more than doubled last summer compared to the same period a year earlier (up by 158%). Among the other major artists most commonly targeted last summer were Coldplay, Harry Styles and Beyonce.

Liz Ziegler, Fraud Prevention Director, Lloyds Bank, said, “For her legion of dedicated Swifties, the excitement is building ahead of Taylor’s Eras Tour finally touching down in the UK this summer. However, cruel fraudsters have wasted no time in targeting her most loyal fans as they rush to pick up tickets for her must-see concerts. It’s easy to let our emotions get the better of us when we find out our favorite artist is going to be performing live, but it’s important not to let those feelings cloud our judgement when trying to get hold of tickets.”

Ziegler suggested, “Buying directly from reputable, authorized platforms is the only way to guarantee you’re paying for a genuine ticket. Even then, always pay by debit or credit card for the greatest protection. If you’re being asked to pay by bank transfer, particularly from a seller you’ve found on social media, that should immediately set alarm bells ringing.”

Taylor Swift Eras tour ticket scams could have conned UK fans out of more than £1m, bank warns

Fans of Coldplay, Beyonce and Harry Styles were also targeted by scams last summer, Lloyds has said. The bank has issued a warning to fans after analysing reports of customers who have been conned since tickets went on sale in 2023.

Taylor Swift fans in the UK could have already lost more than £1m to con artists pretending to sell concert tickets for her Eras tour, a major bank has estimated.

Lloyds Bank has issued a warning to fans based on an analysis of purchase scams reported by its customers, as well as those of Halifax and Bank of Scotland, where Swift and/or the Eras Tour were referenced as part of the claim.

More than 600 Lloyds Banking Group customers have reported being scammed since tickets went on sale in July 2023.

Each victim lost £332 on average, though in some cases the loss was more than £1,000, Lloyds said.

With the figures based solely on its own customer data, Lloyds estimates there are likely to have been at least 3,000 victims across the UK - with more than £1m lost to fraudsters - based on its current account market share and assuming similar trends across other UK banks.

Fans aged 25 to 34 trying to buy sold-out tickets are most likely to be targeted, with many scams originating on social media, Lloyds warned.

Fans of Coldplay , Beyonce and Harry Styles were also targeted by scams last summer, it added.

Purchase scams involve tricking someone into sending money via bank transfer to buy goods or services that are fake, shoddy, or do not exist.

Ticket scams often involve fake adverts, posts or listings on social media, offering tickets or access to events which have already sold out as fraudsters know they can cash in on eager fans willing to pay much more by falsely claiming to have tickets for sale.

Swift's record-breaking Eras tour is set to gross more than $1bn (£813m), according to reports, with tickets for shows selling out as soon as they went on sale.

By the time it ends in December, the star will have played more than 150 shows across five continents.

'If it looks too good to be true, it probably is'

Lisa Webb, consumer law expert at Which?, said people buying gig tickets should use a credit card for anything costing more than £100, or PayPal, as both these methods can provide protection.

"We've heard from disappointed Swifties who have bought tickets on social media, only to realise it's a scam when their promised tickets never materialise," she said. "Unfortunately, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

"Don't be tempted to buy tickets from anyone other than authorised sellers, as your rights can be significantly reduced if something goes wrong."

Anyone who thinks they have fallen victim to a ticket scam should contact their bank and report it to Action Fraud or Police Scotland, she added.

Taylor Swift’s loyal legion of Swifties in the United Kingdom have reportedly been scammed out of $1.2 million in their quest to see the pop star’s coveted “Eras Tour.”

Some 90% of the cons have targeted 25 to 34-year-olds seeking tickets to Swift’s record-breaking international tour on Facebook, including Facebook Marketplace, according to Lloyds Bank.

“A search of Facebook revealed dozens of unofficial groups have been set up, many with tens of thousands of members, specifically for people looking to buy and sell tickets for Taylor Swift concerts,” the London-based shared as part of an “urgent warning” issued Wednesday.

“Likewise Facebook Marketplace has various listings for tickets at venues all over the country [UK],” as Swift gears up to head across the pond for the first time in six years.

The Post’s own search for Eras Tour tickets in the UK did, in fact, yield numerous posts and groups that claim to feature “legit” transactions, including one with upwards of 40,000 members and another dedicated solely to scoring access to Swift’s stops at London’s Wembley Stadium in June and August.

Lloyds found that 600 of its own customers had been victimized alone, losing anywhere from roughly $400 to upwards of $1,200.

Outside of its own banking system, Lloyds estimated some 3,000 more UK residents may have fallen prey to the scams, according to its warning, which was earlier reported on by Business Insider.

In most of the fraudulent transactions, “victims are asked to pay upfront for the tickets, but once the payment is made, the scammers disappear,” Lloyds explained. “This leaves the buyer without the tickets and out of pocket.”

“For her legion of dedicated Swifties, the excitement is building ahead of Taylor’s Eras Tour finally touching down in the UK this summer. However cruel fraudsters have wasted no time in targeting her most loyal fans as they rush to pick up tickets for her must-see concerts,” the bank’s fraud prevention director, Liz Ziegler, said.

Ziegler advised aspiring Eras Tour attendees to buy “directly from reputable, authorized platforms” — and “even then, always pay by debit or credit card for the greatest protection.”

“It’s easy to let our emotions get the better of us when we find out our favorite artist is going to be performing live, but it’s important not to let those feelings cloud our judgement when trying to get hold of tickets,” Ziegler added.

For those that still want to take a risk of buying second-hand, “if you’re being asked to pay by bank transfer, particularly from a seller you’ve found on social media, that should immediately set alarm bells ringing,” Ziegler warned.

It’s been a “Cruel Summer” for Swifties in other parts of the world as well — including 20-year-old Australian fan Grace, who told a local radio station late last year that she lost over $775 after seeing a “friend of a friend” selling four of the highly coveted tickets on Facebook.

Excited Swifties taking selfies with their concert tickets before entering Taylor Swift's concert at Singapore's National Stadium

“I messaged them and they sent a screenshot of the email confirmation of having bought these tickets. It had their name in it, it had the section of the tickets, it had four tickets,” she explained.

“None of my alarm bells were raised because that all looked above board to me.”

But in reality, it wasn’t her friend on the other side of the message at all, but rather a scammer who hacked into the Facebook account.

Fearing the worst, Grace phoned up her friend and learned she wasn’t the only victim.

Yin, like Grace, took to Facebook to find a ticket being sold second-hand, forking over about $388 to a seller she thought was selling legitimate tickets before being blocked.

And fellow Australian Swiftie named Nick was  yet another fan who was scammed  by a hacker masquerading as a Facebook friend.

After he made contact,  the scammer offered various tickets  and even asked Nick how his family was doing, feigning a personal connection.

Nick lost $388 to the scam after he transferred the funds and the hacker vanished.

Tickets to Swift’s Eras Tour have been so popular since the concert kicked off in March 2023 that it became the highest-grossing tour of its kind by December, when it raked in more than $1 billion, according to Pollstar’s 2023 year-end charts.

Thank’s to the concert’s blockbuster success, Swift, 34, scored billionaire status.

And it’s not over yet: Swift won’t perform her final Eras Tour concert until December 2024 in Vancouver, Canada, following a stint across Europe and additional US shows in Florida, Louisiana and Indiana.

Nas has announced a new UK and European tour to mark the 30th anniversary of his groundbreaking debut album Illmatic .

The 50-year-old rapper will perform Illmatic , which he released at the age of 20, in full.

Register below to buy advance tickets in the presale.

The 15-date tour will begin in Finland in October before arriving in Britain on 10 November for shows in Manchester, Edinburgh, Wolverhampton and London.

The platinum-certified album includes classic Nas tracks such as “N.Y State of Mind”, “Halftime”, “The World Is Yours” and “It Ain’t Hard to Tell” and is regularly cited as one of the most important and influential records in rap history.

In 2021, The Independent ’s Sam Moore wrote : “As listeners of Illmatic and the rest of his discography know, Nas was always an old head with a baby face, more philosopher than hustler – but he is also a linguistic genius, capable of bending words, rhymes and syllables at will.”

The new tour will begin at the House of Culture in Helsinki, Finland on 22 October. It will then call at B-K in Stockholm, Sweden (24 October), Kb Hallen in Copenhagen, Denmark (25 October), the Palladium in Cologne, Germany(27 October), Fabrique in Milan, Italy (30 October) and Halle 622 in Zurich, Switzerland on 31 October.

In November, Nas will play the Gasometer in Vienna, Austria (2 November), the Uber Eats Music Hall in Berlin, Germany (3 November), AFAS Live in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (5 November), Le Zenith in Paris, France (7 November) and Stadthalle Offenbach in Offenbach, Germany on 8 November.

In the UK, Nas will appear at the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester (10 November), Usher Hall, Edinburgh (11 November), University Wolverhampton at the Civic Hall, Wolverhampton (14 November) and finally the Royal Albert Hall in London on 15 November.

Fans can register here to buy tickets in the presale, which begins at 10am BST on Tuesday 23 April.

General tickets go on sale at 10am BST on Thursday 25 April.

In a five-star review of Nas’ 2021 album King’s Disease 2 , The Independent ’s Annabel Nugent wrote: “While most of today’s prominent rappers were not yet born when a 20-year-old Nasir Jones was coming up in New York City, you’d be hard-pressed to find one that doesn’t cite his 1994 benchmark debut Illmatic as an inspiration. A wordsmith, revered elder statesman, teacher, storyteller: the legend around Nas is all-encompassing.”

Taylor Swift fans in the UK have been scammed out of $1.2 million, bank says

  • UK Taylor Swift fans have lost over $1.2 million to Eras Tour ticket scams, Lloyds Bank says.
  • The bank issued an urgent warning after it said 600 of its customers fell victim to the scam.
  • Most of the ticket scams targeted 25- 34-year-olds through fake ads on Facebook.

Insider Today

It looks like it's heating up to be a Cruel Summer — at least for Swifties in the United Kingdom seeking Eras Tour tickets.

Fans of Taylor Swift have already been scammed out of over $1.2 million trying to purchase concert tickets, mostly through Facebook, according to Lloyds Bank .

This prompted the bank, which is among the United Kingdom's largest, to issue an "urgent warning." The warning said that at least 600 of its customers had been victimized by a ticket scam, losing anywhere from £332 to over £1,000.

Related stories

Outside of its own banking system, Lloyds estimated some 3,000 more Brits may have fallen prey to the scams, losing as much as £1 million, or over $1.2 million, in total nationwide.

Most of the scams appeared to target 25- to 34-year-olds using fake ads on Facebook, the bank said.

"For her legion of dedicated Swifties, the excitement is building ahead of Taylor's Eras Tour finally touching down in the UK this summer. However cruel fraudsters have wasted no time in targeting her most loyal fans as they rush to pick up tickets for her must-see concerts," fraud prevention director Liz Ziegler said.

The popularity of Swift's Eras Tour has caused all manner of problems for its ticket-seeking fans.

Many Swift fans in the United States were forced to purchase resale tickets after Ticketmaster botched the 2022 release of tickets, prompting a congressional inquiry the following year. Swifties stateside told Business Insider they had to do serious sleuthing to confirm they weren't being scammed when they paid for resale tickets.

In July 2023, the San Francisco Better Business Bureau warned Swift fans that scammers were running ticket scams as her "Eras Tour" date approached in the city, according to ABC .

Alma Galvan, BBB regional communications manager, told the outlet that scammers will sometimes pretend to be friends on social media and sell fans fake tickets for a large price.

The BBB recommends only purchasing tickets from reputable vendors and using a credit card before a debit card, cash transfer app, or cash, the report said.

One Swift fan who spent more than $1,500 on tickets on Facebook Marketplace told BI that she insisted on using Paypal Goods and Services for the transaction because it helps users get a refund if their concert tickets never arrive.
