The Killers Announce ‘Hot Fuss’ 20th Anniversary Residency in Las Vegas

The Killers will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut LP, Hot Fuss , by playing the album straight through at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in their hometown of Las Vegas. Eight nights are booked between August 14 through August 30. Tickets go on sale January 27.

All four members of the band — singer Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer, and drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr — will participate in the shows. This is a rarity since Stoermer stopped touring with the group in 2016 due to hearing issues and burnout from the road, and Keuning stepped away between 2017 and 2020 to spend more time with his family. “Nobody is going to sympathize with me,” Keuning told Rolling Stone in 2021, “but physically and mentally, I could not go to the airport and devote myself to two more years of being gone. I could not do it. I was going crazy.”

The Hot Fuss anniversary gigs in Las Vegas are a great chance for the band to reunite onstage and revisit the songs that launched them. Hot Fuss tunes like “Mr. Brightside,” “Somebody Told Me,” “All Things Things That I’ve Done,” “Smile Like You Mean It,” “Andy, You’re a Star,” and “Jenny Was a Friend of Mine” have been consistent parts of their stage show for the last two decades. It’s hard to imagine they’ll ever be able to play a concert without playing at least “Mr. Brightside,” one of the most beloved rock songs of the 21st century.

It was amazing!!! From the moment they went on stage to the very last second it was just so much positive energy coming from the band. The crowd was bad, but that isn’t The Killers’ fault! They did the absolute most and it paid off. Brandon hit those high notes despite his flu, Ronnie was legendary on the drums, Ted was amazing, the choir was amazing, et cetera et cetera. It’s a shame (especially for the people that DID know all their songs) that the crowd bothered them so much that they didn’t play Mr. Brightside, but again, the band isn’t to blame.

These Las Vegas legends know how to give a great performance!

This was, so far, the best concert for The Killers that I've ever seen (& I've seen them 3 times already). The acoustics for the Staples Center wasn't the absolute best, but it didn't matter when the whole stadium was singing at the top of their lungs along with the band. First of all, since this was the Wonderful Wonderful Tour, I thought the band would play mostly songs from the new album, but to my surprise, they performed a great mix of songs from their entire discography. What surprised me the most was that The Killers played a ton more songs from their Hot Fuss album than they ever had before. They even dug deep to perform such notable songs like "Andy, You're A Star" & "Smile Like You Mean It". A beautifully sweet touch was when the band performed a new, sort of spur-of-the-moment, song about Los Angeles...a song they had written on the road just before their L.A. leg of the tour. One of the major highlights of the entire concert was when the band had invited a young teenage fan up onto the stage to play the drums on the song "For Reasons Unknown". Apparently this has become an ongoing tradition of the band, to invite fans up on the stage to perform with them. This was such a touching, yet totally bad-ass moment, & I hope The Killers keep on doing this at every concert tour from now on. By the end of the concert, my friends & I had lost our voices from singing & screaming so loudly, but it was one thousand percent worth it. The Killers proved with their electrifying & humorous stage presence, along with their amazing voices & talent, that they will forever hold the spot of being my all-time favorite band.

I actually saw the show at Barclays on Tuesday the 8th. Let me start by saying I see a lot of concerts every year and was only familiar with the better known of The Killers songs. Having said that - they were EXCELLENT! Flowers is a magnificent front man with a set of pipes to carry stadiums. The band is flawless and so rock and roll. I will judge a band by how much they can hook me with a song I’ve never heard before . From the opening with Wonderful Wonderful and The Man thru The Calling start to the encore I was dazzled. I downloaded everything and I’m now a confirmed fan. I will see them again ASAP. One of the best live I have seen -ever. And I’m no spring chicken.

Music and concerts, music and concerts | the killers and imagine dragons headline new tc summer fest at target field.

A man points as he sings into a microphone.

Las Vegas rock bands the Killers and Imagine Dragons will headline the inaugural TC Summer Fest, set for July 14 and 15 at Target Field.

Tickets for the festival-style concert series, staged by the Minnesota Twins and a promotion company, are priced from $239 to $39, or $406 to $66 for both days, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via twins.com/tcsummerfest .

The Killers emerged in 2004 with the album “Hot Fuss,” a worldwide hit that topped seven million in sales. Their debut single “Mr. Brightside” went double platinum and they’ve since returned to the charts with a string of hits that include “Somebody Told Me,” “When You Were Young,” “Read My Mind,” “Human,” “Spaceman,” “Runaways,” “The Man,” “Run for Cover,” “Caution” and “My Own Soul’s Warning.”

In March 2020, the band announced a massive worldwide tour just days before the pandemic-related lockdown. They canceled the tour dates, but did release their sixth album, “Imploding the Mirage,” that August. They went on to issue another record, “Pressure Machine,” in 2021 and returned to the road the following year. They drew more than 10,000 fans to St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center that September.

Imagine Dragons

Lead singer Dan Reynolds founded Imagine Dragons while he was a student at Brigham Young University. Imagine Dragons built a strong following in Utah before relocating to Las Vegas, where they self-released a trio of EPs that attracted the attention of Interscope Records, which signed the group in 2011.

The band’s debut single, “It’s Time,” was a hit, but it was the Grammy-winning follow-up “Radioactive” that broke Imagine Dragons to the masses in the U.S. and around the world. The group’s first two albums sold more than three million copies combined and they returned to the charts with “Demons,” “On Top of the World,” “Sucker for Pain,” “Believer” and “Thunder.”

More recently, Imagine Dragons released the double album “Mercury – Acts 1 and 2” in two parts, in 2021 and 2022. They recorded the 32 tracks with a series of producers including Rick Rubin, who is known for his work with the Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash and Rage Against the Machine. About 14,000 fans attended their most recent local show , in February 2022 at Target Center.

TC Summer Fest lineups

The Killers headline July 14 with support from the Flaming Lips, Death Cab for Cutie, Cannons and another act to be announced.

As well as headlining Reading & Leeds 2023, the US band will head out on a short tour of the country

The Killers have confirmed a short run of UK and Ireland tour dates to complement their headline slots at Reading & Leeds 2023 .

After topping the bill at the twin festivals next August, the Las Vegas-conceived band will head to Scotland, where there will hold their first-ever show in Edinburgh. The group will headline the Royal Highland Centre Showgrounds on August 29.

In September, The Killers will continue the brief tour at Belfast’s Boucher Road Playing Fields before heading to Stradbally to headline the 2023 edition of Electric Picnic.

Surprise Albums: 16 Drops That Shocked The Music World

Tickets for the Edinburgh and Belfast shows will both go on sale at 9am GMT on Monday (December 12). Edinburgh tickets will be available to purchase here , while Belfast tickets will go on sale here .

The short tour follows the band’s massive, sold-out stadium tour this summer , which saw The Killers play to 400,000 fans at shows, including two euphoric nights at London’s Emirates Stadium.

The new dates are the latest to be added to what looks set to be a busy schedule for The Killers next summer. Previously, the band were confirmed to be performing at Atlanta, GA’s Shaky Knees festival alongside Muse and The Lumineers.

Meanwhile, the group’s latest album, Pressure Machine , was released in 2021 and was followed up by the standalone single “boy” in August. Written before the songs that made up Pressure Machine , the themes explored in “boy” helped lead frontman and principal songwriter Brandon Flowers to the subjects that would eventually be the focus of that record.

“This was the first song written after we had to cancel the  Imploding The Mirage  tour due to the pandemic,” Flowers explained in a press release at the time. “I had recently moved back to Utah and started to make trips to Nephi, where I grew up. I found that the place I had wanted to get away from so desperately at 16 was now a place that I couldn’t stop returning to.

“I have a son approaching the age I was at that time in my life. With ‘boy’, I want to reach out and tell myself – and my sons – to not overthink it. And to look for the ‘white arrows’ in their lives. For me now, white arrows are my wife, children, my songs and the stage.”

Buy or stream “Boy.” View The Killers’ tour itinerary below.

Due to phenomenal demand, The Killers have added an extra date at 3Arena.

The Killers are thrilled to announce details of a celebratory UK/Ireland tour in summer 2024. The Rebel Diamonds Tour will celebrate the band’s 20 years of hits in a series of arena shows, including 3Arena on Wednesday 12, Friday 14 and Saturday 15 June 2024.

Tickets sales for the Rebel Diamonds Tour coincide with the release of the band’s celebratory ‘best of’ album, Rebel Diamonds.

Rebel Diamonds is an album of highlights featuring 20 tracks, including the modern day classics “Mr. Brightside,” “When You Were Young,” “All These Things That I’ve Done,” “Human,” “Read My Mind”, “The Man” and more, through to the band’s most recently released, critically-lauded single, “Your Side of Town,” and one brand new anthem, “Spirit”.

Rebel Diamonds is a curated dive into an impressive catalogue of songwriting and musicianship - one that has solidified the band as one of the most important voices in rock ‘n’ roll over the last two decades. The album features at least one song from each of the band’s seven studio albums. From the groundbreaking debut Hot Fuss, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024, to the band’s latest full length LP, 2021’s Pressure Machine, Rebel Diamonds showcases the group’s versatility and staying power across the ever-changing alternative music landscape.  The collection is made up of songs that embody who The Killers are as a band, additionally including some favourites of theirs that have resonated over the years - tracks like “Be Still,” from 2012’s album Battle Born or “Dying Breed” from 2020’s album Imploding The Mirage or “A Dustland Fairytale” from 2008’s Day & Age, which the band recently re-recorded and performed with Bruce Springsteen.

Restrictions

  • Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult and standing is strictly over 14s
  • 3Arena has a maximum bag size limit in place of 40cm x 40cm x 20cm. Large rucksacks, luggage or oversized bags are not permitted

Normani

Although Taylor Swift ‘s chart-busting Tortured Poets Department dominated the news cycle of the last weekend in April, the hip-hop and R&B worlds kept churning out hot new tracks and buzzy news stories to keep us occupied.

Conway the Machine Announces New Album ‘SFK’ & Reveals Cover Art: Here’s When It Arrives

In yet another update to 2024’s Great Rap War, Drake complied with the Tuapc Shakur estate’s request to take down his new “Taylor Made Freestyle,” which featured verses spit by AI-generated versions of Snoop Dogg ‘s and Pac’s voices. Kendrick Lamar has still not responded.

Trending on Billboard

With  Fresh Picks ,  Billboard  aims to highlight some of the best and most interesting new sounds across R&B and hip-hop — from Susan Carol’s soulful debut to Tommy Richman’s fast-rising smash. Be sure to check out this week’s Fresh Picks in our Spotify playlist below.

Freshest Find: Susan Carol, “Karma”

Fresh off her first career Grammy win (best traditional R&B performance for “Good Morning” with PJ Morton ), Susan Carol is celebrating her recent signing to Def Jam with new single “Karma.” Produced by Harmony Samuels, “Karma” finds Carol delivering a biting vocal performance that plays well against the lush combination of swanky guitars, steady percussion and ornate strings. “Think you better than you is/ And I swear the d–k was mid/ It’s just like a boomerang/ Your’re throwing out bulls–t & it comes right back on you/ There’s nothing left for me to do,” she sings before the production opens up into a soulful symphony of lounge jazz influences. The concept of the song is simple, yet effective, why waste time plotting revenge when you can let karma fight your battles for you? Well said, Susan.

Tommy Richman, “Million Dollar Baby”

Normani feat. Gunna, “1 : 59″

For the first taste of her long-awaited debut studio album, Dopamine , Normani recruits Gunna for a sultry midtempo that combines the lush vocal stacks of Brandy , the effortless seductiveness of Aaliyah and the Fifth Harmony alum’s own trademark enigmatic allure. As he does on his own R&B-adjacent collaborations, Gunna slinks in and out of harmony with Normani, presenting welcome contrasts to the song’s overall languid feel and providing a bit of dynamism for the “Motivation” singer to play off of in the back half. Now that her debut LP finally has a release date (June 14), “1:59” is a solid introduction to the Normani of Dopamine .

Anycia & Cash Cobain, “That’s Hard”

Here’s an unexpected collaboration from the pair of rising rappers leaving their mark in 2024. Everything Cash Cobain lends his Midas Touch to is turning to gold these days. Cash freestyles another silky chorus and welcomes Anycia into his world with a Slizzy summer on the horizon. She matches his typically laid-back and raunchy vibes. “I’m getting top in the back of a brand-new car/ Nene the hardest/ He singing my s–t by the bar,” Anycia brags in her raspy flow. “That’s Hard” is a fun standout from Nene’s robust Princess Pop That debut, which arrived via UnitedMasters on Friday (April 26).

JT, “Okay”

Babyface Ray, “Glory”

A rose bloomed from the concrete of Detroit. Babyface Ray has been as consistent as they come from the thriving Midwest rap scene. Ray basks in his glory as his smoky flow aerates the twinkly production. However, the 33-year-old can’t relate to his Gen Z peers in some ways like publicly broadcasting street violence. “I’m glad I was raised by bosses, these n—as lost in the sauce keep talkin’ ’bout killing/ All of the killers I know, they don’t even talk, so I’m sayin’ too much right now,” he contests. Ray switches gears and paints a picture of his baby boy waving bye-bye from the back of his Benz – it’s all about versatility. He claimed the Summer’s Mine with his 2023 project, we’ll see if he can find his way into the mix again this season.

Camper feat. Tank & Syd, “I Need It”

Camper, the Grammy-winning producer behind chart-topping hits like Coco Jones ‘ “ICU,” is stepping into the limelight. For his new single, the R&B craftsman recruited Syd and Tank , two voices that — while they evoke two separate eras of R&B — make for an absolutely gorgeous duet. Between Syd’s beguiling tone and the buttery seduction of Tank’s delivery, “I Need It” finds the two singers beautifully painting across Camper’s intimate, bedroom-ready production. “Find a better reason/ Why we shouldn’t lay up/ Get back to freakin’ right now/ All I know is/ I need it,” Syd declares.

Bairi, “Man Enough”
