An excellent tour

Our guide Luis Snr was excellent. Very knowledgeable on the locations, history and general useful information. He was a very safe driver, not easy to give running commentaries whilst negotiating mountain roads. The minibus was modern and very comfortable. Luis did everything he could to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Thanks again.

Excellent guide and tour. Very scenic and informative as well. We were travelling by cruise ship and were picked up near the port exit and taken back to the ship on our return.

Go North Tour Madeira (Happy Tours)

Have now done all Happy tours full day trips and would thoroughly recommend them. The office staff are always helpful and friendly. Today was the Go North tour ....absolutely wonderful scenery, views and coastline. Regular stops to see the sites. Our guide Nicolao was informative and a pleasure to spend the day with. Last time was Go Southwest with Louis and we thought that could not be beaten but today was even better. I would like to thank them again for making our stays in Madeira even more enjoyable

Friendly commentary to Nuns Valley and viewpoints

Excellent email communication and response from outset. Collected from cruise ship at arranged time … accommodated our mobility scooter as discussed. Small group from several pick-ups and approx 4 hour round trip with time for photos, exploration, coffees etc. Terrific value. Very much enjoyed. Beautiful vistas in spite of a very rainy overcast day. We would use again. Obrigada!!

Three trips

We went on the go west, south west and nuns valley tours. Excellent minibus guides giving fascinating information about Madeira. Office staff excellent and attentive. Good value and comfortable minibuses. AAA+++

Spectacular

Another great tour to the spectacular Nuns Valley unbelievable views down the valley make this trip a must, words can not describe the Vista prepare for a viewing wonderland I will say no more as you must see for yourself, the tour is not too long around five hours and well worth doing I fully recommend

Exceptional experience

My sister and I booked two tours with Madeira Happy Tours The booking process was easy, and their website very intuitive. Laura sent us more information by e-mail. We went on the West day tour and half-day tour in Nun's Valley. For both tours our guide was Hugo. A special thanks goes to him. Hugo was outstanding, a nice person, educated, intelligent, prepared , he showed us Madeira as we could never have seen it on our own. We are very grateful to him for sharing Madeira's history, traditions and culture with us. We recommend Madeira Happy Tours to everyone because everything was perfect and well organised.  Of course, we look forward to visiting Madeira again with them.

Perfect guided walk. I booked with Happy Tours. Their guide was great. Lots of information about Madeira. Were a little bit busy, but the view is amazing.

Thoroughly Enjoyed

This was the last of 4 trips we did with Happy Tours and we enjoyed the whole day. The driver/guide was excellent in every way. There was 10 of us on the tour, and he suggested we could book a 3 course meal at a restaurant in Santana via him if we wished. All 10 of us took him up on the offer, which turned out to be very good value for money. The 90 minute break gave us plenty of time to have the meal and a quick look around the village. It also gave us the opportunity to get to know our fellow travellers, who came from many parts of the world, but all spoke English.

Happy Tours, Happy Tourist

First time out of Funchal and it couldn't have gone any better. The bus was comfortable and we had a happy group. Luis was a fantastic guide and very informative. The fact he had German and English tourists didn't phase him. It was more than just look at that but gave a real understanding of the west of the island, a real feat, from it's industries through to excellent recommendations at the different stops. Thank you

Beautiful Nun's Valley tour

Excellent tour. Luis, our guide and driver was very knowledgeable and told us so much in the 3 hours. Overlooks Bica dos barelos and Eira do Serro were amazing, and then Nun's Valley! Such scenery- my phone camera did not do it justice. Luis showed us the old road where residents could be cut off for days if bad weather. Our stop on the way back at Camaro dos Lobos gave us a chance to walk around the harbor

West Tour - excellent way of seeing the island

Excellent way to see different parts of the island with a long stop at Porto Moniz for the volcanic pools. Hugo was an excellent driver guide imparting lots of knowledge about the island, its history and flora. He was interesting and informative. We took a picnic lunch to allow enough time at the pools for a good swim. There was enough time at each of the other stops too. The mini bus was also a good size. In all an excellent day and good way to see the island.

Jorge was an excellent tour guide whilst doing this walk, friendly funny and very knowledgable. The walk was tough but well worth the views and was an amazing experience. We used happy tours for a couple of trips when in Madeira and couldn’t recommend them enough!

Excellent day trip !

Luis "senior" was our host for this trip and from the moment he picked us up he was friendly and engaging making us feel really comfortable. The trip is real value for money ( this was the best price on the island so was a little unsure if that would be reflected in the quality of the service but absolutely NOT)when you think about where you are taken and how you would otherwise access the places this trip was excellent value. Luis lives locally and he gave us plenty of information and tips along the way. I wouldn't hesitate to book another tour with them !

Brilliant and well organised.

Superb experience from start to finish. Easy to book and the chap in the shop was very helpful in recommending walks. The bus collected us from the hotel exactly on time and our guide (Elton) was excellent. The walk was simply stunning, beautiful scenery with well maintained paths and walkways to preserve the local wildlife and fauna. Elton’s knowledge of local plants, animals and the island’s history was amazing and he really helped to make our day special. The final leg was a visit to a local cafe for Poncha or coffee before heading back. A fantastic day - thank you to Happy Tours.

Beautiful views with a friendly guide

We booked this tour last minute at 2215 the night before as the shop was still open in town and we wanted to get out exploring, we were not disappointed! Our guide picked us up promptly from our hotel before picking others up from the main office and other hotels. Throughout the entire journey our driver/guide Hugo gave us lots of information on the history of the island and what it is famous for, he also talked alot about different plants and fruits throughout our journey. We made various stops throughout the day and had almost a full 2 hours in Porto Moniz (sadly was a little too cold/windy for me to dip my toe in the water). The island itself was great, some beautiful scenery! We are definitely booking another tour with the company before we head home, the problem is choosing which one?!

Fantastic Go East tour with Luis

We did the Go East tour last week, our guide and driver was Luis. He was excellent, really friendly, helpful and gave us lots of information. The whole tour was perfect, we saw so many incredible sights, we loved the whole day, it was fantastic and Luis is a perfect guide. We wish we had taken a photo of Luis to keep with our Madeira photo album!

Go West Tour - AMAZING

Louis (Junior) was phenomenal!! We booked the west tour last minute as it was our first time to the island and we were only there for a short time. Louis picked us up, along w two other couples, and we drove around the west all day to different sights, stops, and viewpoints. Louis was an amazing guide who provided a lot of insight, background and cool info about the stops and islands in general that he knew of since he’s a local. Funny & easygoing guy that enhanced the overall trip, we had a great day:) If you can, try to request Louis Junior for your tour. Next time we’re back in Madeira, we’ll be booking happy tours to see other parts of the island.

'An experience not to be missed'

Yesterday we thoroughly enjoyed a visit to the Eastern part of the island with 'Happy Tours'. We were collected from outside the booking office & returned to our hotel door (Louis kindly took a slight diversion) at 5 p.mish. Louis gave us a detailed & insightful commentary as he gave us a tour of the East. He spoke in both English & French and regaled us with a wealth of information about the island. And he tailored his banter according to what he felt was most inspiring to his passengers! All very well executed as driving on mountainous Madeiran roads looks quite a feat in itself!! The minibus was very cool onboard & comfortable and we enjoyed some stunning scenery. We had an ideal number of stops where we could briefly explore; all in all an experience with 'Happy Tours' not to be missed whilst in Madeira 😀

Very enjoyable walk

Tony the driver was very friendly and knowledgeable, being a local from Porto Moniz originally. Stopped for a coffee, 1 euro, just shows how Starbucks rip us off. Met up at Rabacal with the rest of the walkers, Jorge was our walk leader. Can't speak more highly of him. His knowledge of the flora and fauna ,as well as his guidance on the walk was exceptional. Would not hesitate to book with them again.

Excellent response time to queries before the tour. Very good pick up and a very enjoyable half day tour to Valley of the Nums. Driver/guide was excellent.

We did the Go West tour with Hugo, great day with many interesting stops. I especially liked the mountain area and would be happy to spend a bit more time there. The long lunch stop was in Porto Moniz which gave us the opportunity to swim in local pools with ocean water. 👍 Hugo is very professional, knowledgable and funny. He gave us so much information about the tour stops but also about Madeira history, plants etc. We ordered the tour online the day before with no issues, the communication was swift and effective. Overall, great experience, would not hesitate to go on another tour with this company.

Flott opplevelse, flik guide

The Pico Arriero to Pico Ruivo guided walk was absolutely brilliant. Everything ran to time and the guide (Jeronimo) was fantastic. He gave us plenty of interesting information and was good fun. It's quite a strenuous walk but we'll worth the effort - beautiful scenery.

We went on the west tour with Hugo yesterday it was a fantastic tour and Hugo was very knowledgeable and had a great day. When on the East tour with loui another great Guide and had another wonderful day. Also special thanks to the man who sold us both tickets in the office near the casino . He told us for the east tour we needed a jacket and the west our swimming costume. Which was very true. So we would recommend this company the minbus was very comfortable

Go West with Happy Tours

Driver picked us up at our hotel on time. Mini Bus was comfortable and we made 8 stops at various sights and had plenty of time to take photographs and even got to see the sight of "Star Wars" location at Porto Moniz Driver was very knowledgeable and spoke fluently in English and was also a very entertaining character to boot. We booked our trip through Madeira Happy Tours and were very impressed with the service and selection of trips available from this well run Company.

Amazing trip

This trip was a half day afternoon tour to Nuns Valley by minibus. Our driver Roger was amazing and gave us very interesting information of the area etc. Would thoroughly recommend this company and look forward to doing another trip

Despite happy tours mini bus breakibg down before it got to us, the staff were quick to sort things out and driver, Tinos came in on his day off and gave us a super morning tour. He gave us lots of info whilst driving around and went into detail about the area we stopped off in. Excellent service and value.

Fabulous tour with happy tour.

All of it, our driver was polite, attentive, knowledgeable and passionate about his beautiful island of Madeira. From the outset they went the extra mile and then some to look after us. We were given plenty of time to view take pictures ask questions about the tour places. We made extra stops. Vehicle clean and comfortable we would happily take more tours with them.

We went on the West day tour in October and liked it so much we did all of 4 full day tours and one of the half-day tours with them. Luis was our guide three times, who really made it for us - he was knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. For the day tours, they suggest somewhere to eat for lunch - but it's entirely up to you if you want to go there, and they don't put any pressure on at all (unlike the bulldogs at the package holiday companies). We ate at the suggested restaurants a few times and liked all of them - reasonably priced and tasty. It's lovely being driven around all day, and you get to see a lot more than you'd be able to on the local buses. We definitely recommend them

We did 2 daily excursions with Happy Tours (10-11 days ago): Go West and Go East tours. Everything was perfect and well organised. The both was with Hugo who is a very sympathetic and professional driver-guide. He shared a large amount of interesting information about this beautiful island. Highly recommended.

Just got back from the Go West tour, picked up 8:30am from our apartment near the Cable Car stop in Funchal and dropped off 4:00pm. Our driver Nélio was knowledgeable and entertaining, a good driver too as we negotiated some twisty routes with amazing views. We stopped at several gorgeous locations and had a great time. In summary, don’t hesitate - just book up and enjoy.

We have done a few tours and the driver Hugo was great

We booked 3 trips with this company. One half and two full days. All were extremely enjoyable. Niko was a great guide with a good sense of humour and very informative. Nelio was also an excellent and witty guide with a great commentary throughout the trip. It was great that owing to the changing cloud conditions he adapted the itinerary to make the best of everything. We saw and learnt a huge amount about the island and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend MHT’s for anyone planning on doing the same.

This is our second time using happy tours and we have been very pleased with the company. Today our tour guide was Luis (the son) who gave us an excellent tour. He was very knowledgeable, his English was excellent and he showed a true love for his country. The North of the island is truly beautiful and we went to many of the small towns and villages along the coast. Luis entertained us all day with stories and legends of the island and the stops were well planned. I would really recommend this tour if you want to see the beauty of the island away from the main tourist areas.

Three of us had a brilliant tour of the West of the Island with Hugo from Happy Tours. He stopped at many places to admire the views; using his local knowledge to avoid the clouds where possible! He kept us informed throughout with a very informative commentary and his driving was excellent. We all enjoyed our swim in the rock pools of Porto Moniz so take your swimming gear if you like that sort of thing! A wonderful full day tour, highly recommended.

Half day tour

We, a group of 34 friends, traveled with a cruise ship to Madeira Island during February 2023. We contacted Mr. Marco Ferreira with Madeira Happy Tours agency asked him to organize a private tour, bus+ guide, for our group. Mr. Ferreira was very responsive and helped us to form a wonderful tour. Mrs. Cristina Passos guided us for half day through the island attractions. Cristina did a very good job in the tour. We highly recommend Madeira Happy Tours as The travel agency for Madeira tours and attractions.

Go West Tour. Wonderful tour. Such stunning scenery. Luis is such a knowledgeable tour guide & brilliant driver. Also went on North Tour. Amazing scenery. Hugo was our tour guide today. Extremely knowledgeable & excellent driver

Excellent tours, excellent tour guide.

The full-day Go West tour is one of several offered by Happy Tours. We have booked two of them on-line in the last week ( the half-day Nun’s Valley tour was the second) . The booking process was straightforward , as were the pick-up instructions. The buses arrived on time and on both occasions our driver/tour guide was Hugo, a Funchal local. Hugo was excellent on both trips - informative and amusing throughout the tours. There were 12/13 people on both of the trips on a 15/16 seater bus. We felt we saw lots of the highlights on the island, with just the right amount of time at each stop. We would certainly recommend Happy Tours and will use them again on future visits.

Our first tour

We were a bit overwhelmed by the number of tours on offer and called into the office. We booked the half day Nuns Valley tour. We were collected on time from our hotel and our driver/guide Tino could not have been more helpful. He was genuinely happy to be escorting us through his beautiful country, and his enthusiasm and love for Madeira was clear. The views were stunning and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather. Do remember that it’s much cooler in the mountains though. This trip is so well run and the itinerary perfect. Thank you

Excellent tour

We were collected on time from our hotel by Tino who was our driver/guide. The pace and itinerary was just right, we never felt rushed or bored. Tino was so enthusiastic and clearly loves Madeira and his job. The scenery was stunning and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather. Remember that it is considerably cooler up in the mountains. I definitely recommend booking with this company. No hard sell and great tips and advice offered. Oh and the wine tasting at the end was a great added bonus. Thank you

Great day out.

Happy Tours is my Go To excursion provider in Madeira. This time I was a little disappointed that, being the week before Christmas, there were far fewer tours available and, to be honest, the salesman in their shop wasn't particularly helpful but I managed to book the south west tour which I'd done before but a while ago. This one did, I think a slightly different and better route. The guide, Tino, was exceptionally good - very knowledgeable, obviously devoted to his island and its history, culture and natural beauty. The stops were well-timed and Tino was informative and interesting at each one. We were lucky with the weather and it was another excellent day out with Happy Tours.

Just back from a very enjoyable tour. Our driver was superb, didn’t rush us and we had a really pleasant afternoon. We will most certainly be using Happy Tours again in the future

Happy Tours made by Madeira trip the happiest

I spent 5 lovely days in Madeira during Christmas time and half of the time were days spent with Happy Tours because they are the best. My first experience was the West Tour, where I met a friendly and funny tour guide, Luis. He was very informative, shared enough information about local history and customs while also giving the visitors room to define how the tour should go. For example, majority of the guests were interested in trying Madeira wine, and Luis quickly pivoted and took us to a local shop near a magical waterfall on the West coast! We enjoyed 4 wine tastings free of charge! We saw a lot of what Madeira had to offer, while safely being guided and driven by Luis. I continued to book the Valley of the Nuns tour the following day (hoping I would get Luis as a guide again)! I was surprised to have another local tour guide that was equally funny and shared lots of local history.

I can highly recommend this tour! Our driver/guide Louis was extremely knowledge about all things Madeiran, from It’s flora and fauna to local customs and events. He was friendly and professional. The stopping places did not disappoint. Spectacular views! Would not hesitate in booking another tour with this company.

Ugo was a fantastic guide. So knowledgeable about Madeira and so interesting to listen to, as well as being a great driver. This tour is excellent value with the right amount of stops and different locations to other operators I've done previously, ie Santa Cruz. I took the opportunity to see the surrounding area at lunch time, with no pressure to have lunch at suggested restaurant and again some great pictures taken whilst others did the rum factory tasting and short tour. 2 great couples so a small group, all in all a wonderful way to spend my last day in Madeira for a few months.

Professional guide, nice tour

Happy tours were so good! We went as a group of 4 for the East Tour of the island. Can’t say you’ll be disappointed. We also got 30% off! Luis the tour guide was so passionate, full of energy and love. Providing an excellent history of the island. He would talk about the smallest things e.g trees and it made you want to be there. He would also translate after speaking English to Portuguese for locals. On the east tour, there’s an option to have a 3 course meal for €16 (which is the cheapest on the island), you must try the Espada (their local/native fish). But you must tell Luis the driver to call in and reserve for you. Make sure you meet at the check point early for the best seats on the mini bus! If you’re afraid of heights, this might not be for you but know you are in very safe hands. Enjoy!

The agent at the shop was really nice and gave us good information. We first booked the West Tour,. The guide gave a lot of information, it was a nice tour. A few days later we also booked the Levada Marocos walk. That was a nice and easy walk. The guide was a nice man and had a lot to tell. Sunday Best

We booked a West Island tour. To be picked up at 9.05am on Sunday morning. Luis was prompt and very welcoming. The mini bus was quite busy but comfortable. Air con was an added bonus. From start to finish we had an amazing time. Me, My Mother in Law and Partner, knew about Caba Girao and Camera de lobos but not the rest of our visits today. We'll timed, informative and really enjoyable without ANY hard sell. Happy tours and Luis thank you. We will be back next year. Wish we'd found you at the start of our holidays

Booked a 'Go East' tour in the office by the monumental experience shopping centre, staff were friendly and efficient. We were picked for the tour on time by Nuno our guide and driver for the day. The tour was really enjoyable stopping at Camacha, Pico do Areeiro,Ribeiro Frio,Santana,Portela,Ponta de São Lourenço and Machico along with various viewpoints with stunning vistas and even a stop at a rum distillery. Nuno was fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable and kept us interested in where we were and what we were seeing. All in all a really nice, enjoyable day. Thanks Nuno.

We had a great day with our driver Lewis. We used Happy Tours back in 2015 for the West tour and Nuns Valley trips and were happy to use them again this year. We had enough time at each stop and particularly enjoyed Santana where we stopped for lunch. Lewis explained everything as we went along - the audio volume in the van was a bit low at the back though, but we managed to hear. He spoke in English and German on the day - luckily I was able to understand as he repeated in German. Happy Tours do seem to have better prices and more stops than some other providers. Definitely recommended.

Great tour at a great price

The Happy Tours shop was located just outside our hotel. We wanted a short tour, so booked on the half-day Nuns' Valley tour for €15. It was great. The minibus was comfortable and air-conditioned, and our driver/guide Hugo was excellent. He really knew his stuff and kept up a running commentary on everything we passed. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the island, and even arranged extra stop-offs, eg to look at a banana plantation - where he explained fascinating details of how the fruit was cultivated. We had short stop-offs at various locations, including viewing points with spectacular views, as well as the town in Nuns' Valley and a fishing village close to Funchal. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic couple of trips

What a fantastic tour company!! I booked the West Island tour before we arrived in Madeira after some research and it was absolutely fantastic. We had Luis as our driver who was informative and super friendly. We enjoyed our trip so much so we booked the half day Nuns valley trip, this was also fantastic and driver Hugo was also great. What I loved about both trips is how they are planned time-wise, we always seemed to be one of the first busses at the stops so beat the crowds. Cannot wait to return to Madeira we fell in love with the island and will certainly be booking some of the other tours.

First visit to Madeira

We have just returned from 2 weeks in Madeira and had booked our tours in advance on the Happy Tours website. We did South, North, East and West tours, Nuns Valley tour, Vale Paraiso Levada walk and Serra Vale Agua Levada walk. This review covers them all. We really enjoyed all the tours we went on, very informative and a great way to see the island on our first visit. For 3 of our tours (South, North and East) our driver and guide was Luis Mateus and he was fantastic. You can tell he loves his job and he is very passionate about the island. He was such good company and made our holiday so enjoyable. He is a credit to the company. We had no problems, we were picked up on time outside our hotel and felt we definitely got our money's worth

We had the levada walk 25 fountains. The driver was friendly and on time. The guide made some jokes and cared for the group. The guide spoke English and Portuguese at a good level. The walk was at a good pace. During the walk he checked in with everybody in the group and told lots of things about the nature and culture. The walk itself was moderate difficult, but can be a bit hard on the knees.

Best trip & Marta our guide was amazing

We went on this amazing East tour and had 6 stops, which included Santana fab village with traditional thatched roofs. Our driver and guide was Marta and her English was exceptional. We travelled on a small 15 seater minibus with German travellers. Every stop was unique and photos at top above the clouds was awesome. We had 40 minutes here to appreciate it. But take a fleece as can get chilly if sun isn't out. We were not rushed at all. We were given plenty of time to mood & admire wonderful Madeira. Please see our photos

Booked the East island tour, and well worth the money. The guide was fantastic she was a brilliant driver up some of the narrow roads !!! Her parking was something else. She could get onto the smallest spaces. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip thanks to her.

Great tour operator - I'm very happy with the service I received from these guys (especially Marco!). Walked in off the street and had a very good conversation with Marco, and was very pleased with the amount of information he gave me on the island. I only had 3 days in Madeira but Marco helped me to make the most of it with the available excursions. I ended up booking some half and full day tours around the Eastern half of the island, along with a trip up to Pico Do Arieiro and a dolphin watching boat ride. Was very happy with the prices charged for me and 3 friends. Had no issues with the collection and drop off times, they collected us from an agreed location at the time that was given (=no waiting around which I was happy with). The tour guides on our excursions were very professional, were able to cater to different languages, and were very engaging and social throughout the journeys. Next time I'm in Madeira I'm coming back here to book more trips!!

We really enjoyed our trips with Happy Tours. We ended up going on all four trips which covered the island plus the Nuns Valley Tour. All guides were very helpful and informative however we especially liked the couple of tours we did with Tino. Many lovely things to see but for us the highlight was popping in to Mr Manuel's house in Sentana who has opened up his traditional cottage to the public to have a look around. He is so happy and welcoming, never seen such a full and colourful garden. If you get a chance also book the traditional Madeira Night with Happy Tours, it's well worth it. Booked a tour of the east side of the island and had a great day. As it was Boxing Day the first stop wasn't opening until later so our driver just did the tour in reverse and came back at the end of the day. Told us lots of interesting facts along the way and we found it all well worth €20. Our lovely guide/driver even dropped us off in town at the pub to watch the football! We will certainly use again on our next visit .

Private tour from Independence of the Seas

As I own and run a similar operation in Ireland, I know a professional operation when I see it. Patricia our guide was friendly, very attentive, and knowledgeable. The Island is spectacular, the Mercedes mini coach was excellent. We were 12 persons in total 3 generations. We requested a bespoke tour to include, the following - cable car, toboggan run, a small village for lunch and also had time to travel out to the cliffs. This was achieved on a halfway tour. Nuns valley Tour

Wednesday the 24th of April2013, we went on the tour to the Nuns Valley our driver who i think was called Etoni (apologies for wrong spelling) he gave a very informative commentary on route, & the views from the 3 stops we had were amazing.The tour takes about 3hours & it was very good value & one i would recommend going on.

Highly recommended

The first rule for those who wish to travel around Madeira is: avoid the siren call of British travel company couriers who charge the earth, then waste half your day force-feeding you an expensive lunch you don't want. We came across Madeira Happy Tours by chance in the shopping centre opposite the Lido, and were so impressed by the first tour, that we booked two more and a guided walking day. Prices were cheaper than other agencies we looked at, and the staff were all helpful and charming. The minibuses used by MHT are comfortable, the driver/couriers are knowledgeable and lively, and we were picked up and dropped each time outside our hotel. The tours - of the south-east, north-west and the Valley of the Nuns - took in much of the beautiful scenery of the island, and the stops were of just the right length. The guide on the Rabaçal walk was excellent, introducing us to a remote area which would otherwise be difficult to access. It was a pleasure to be introduced to the beauty of Madeira by such a professional organisation, and we would highly recommend Madeira Happy Tours to other visitors.

Marco in the office was very helpful in explaining the available walks and tours, and took the time to answer all of our questions. We ended up taking the West Tour, and the price paid was extremely reasonable. On the tour... The van was nearly new, and the seating was comfortable. The driver was safe, cordial, attentive, and took the time to explain the sites that we visited. The times spent at each of the locations was just about right. The driver also took the time to provide background on the island of Madeira... its history, its people and its culture. This is the best money that we have ever spent on a vacation.

Madeira visit

We visited Madeira recently with Norwegian Cruise liner and had booked a day trip with Happy Tours,prior to our departure. I must say it was the highlight of our trip,and very reasonablly priced.Terry the guide was there to meet us with his taxi, immediately we arrived on the Port..He was the most fantastic guide we could have,as he was so passionate about the island and its history etc.He choose a lovely restaurant for lunch where we sampled the Madeira wine and local fish.Our decision for Terry to join us for lunch as we enjoyed his conversation so much..We were sad to leave Madeira and Terry but can't wait to go back and see another side of the Island with Terry and Happy Tours.Also we were impressed that Madeira was so cheap, 2 cups of coffee 2 euro, lunch for three with drinks 30 euro, certainly with prices like that, tourism should flourish. .
