The tour package was well-organized and covered all the major destinations in the region, giving us a comprehensive overview of the culture, history, and natural beauty of this lesser-explored part of India. The tour started in Guwahati, the gateway to North East India, where we were greeted by our friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. From there, we traveled to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, known as the 'Scotland of the East' for its stunning landscapes and pleasant climate. We visited the famous Umiam Lake, also known as Barapani Lake, and were mesmerized by its crystal clear water and surrounding hills. Next, we headed to Cherrapunjee, one of the wettest places on earth, where we got to witness the spectacular Seven Sisters Waterfall and the living root bridges, a unique and fascinating man-made wonder. The tour also took us to Mawlynnong, known as the cleanest village in Asia, and we were amazed by its pristine surroundings and the warm hospitality of the locals. We then continued our journey to Kaziranga National Park, home to the famous one-horned rhinoceros. We were lucky enough to spot these magnificent creatures during our safari in the park. The tour also included a visit to Majuli Island, the world's largest river island, where we got to experience the unique Assamese culture and enjoy a traditional dance performance. The highlight of the tour was our visit to Tawang, located in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, which is home to the second-largest Buddhist monastery in the world. The monastery was a sight to behold, and we were fortunate to witness the daily rituals and prayers of the monks. The tour also took us to the picturesque Sela Pass, which offered breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains. Throughout the tour, we were impressed by the beauty and diversity of North East India. The accommodations provided were comfortable and the food was delicious, giving us a taste of the local cuisine. Our tour guide was highly knowledgeable and shared interesting insights about the places we visited. Eine sehr gute organisierte Reise. Die Übergabe von Guide zu Guide und Fahrer und Fahrer funktionierte perfekt. Guides und Fahrer sind empfehlenswert. Die Hotels waren wie versprochen, einfache aber gute. Nur eines war dem Schlechtwetter nicht gewachsen und definitiv zu kalt. Für die Blooming Season im Yumthang waren wir um ca. drei Wochen zu früh. Es gab aber spannende Einblicke in Religion und Kultur. Ich würde die Reise wieder machen, nur ein wenig später.

Gangtok North Sikkim Tour

Seated conveniently in the lap of Mother Nature, Sikkim is one of the scenic places to explore in North East-India. This small state has so much to offer to the visitors right from nature to adventure, spiritualism to cultural and most importantly peace of mind to warm hearted people. Sikkim is one of those places that makes all the wishes of an avid traveller come true. In our 5N/6D tour, we offer the chance to explore the lesser explored part of Sikkim i.e., North Sikkim along with the famed capital city of Gangtok. This tour guarantees to take you on a ride of a fairytale land in every possible way.

Gangtok is the destination where tour commences. Blessed with beautiful landscape, majestic monasteries, rich culture and warm-hearted people, the capital city of Sikkim caters to all kinds of travellers and their different interests. We shall aim to explore the suburb located Tsomgo Lake, Baba Mandir and the Nathu Pass (if at all any spare time is left). Situated at an elevation of about 3753m, Tsomgo Lake is known for seasonal change in the colour of its water. For this reason, the local people consider the lake as sacred. Tsomgo is also to home several species of birds including Brahminy Ducks and wild animals like Red Panda.

The 6 hours drive through winding roads and scenic terrains will take us to Lachen, which is known for its unexploited beauty. At 2590m, Lachen is the starting point for some of the most interesting treks in North Sikkim and is the gateway to the alpine Guru Dongmar and Tso Lhamu lakes. Lachen was once served as the winter home of the shepherds who spent their summers on the alpine pastures bordering Tibet with their yaks. Lachen is now a popular base camp for trekking in North Sikkim. On our tour, we shall be witnessing the majestic Gurudongmar Lake, which is the highest lake in Sikkim and is situated at an altitude of 5181m. The crystal clear lake is surrounded by snow-clad mountains,fluttering Buddhist Prayers Flags and a temple in that adds more to the spiritual feel of the place. Gurudongmar remains frozen throughout the winter but in summers, visitors can enjoy looking at its sparkling water.

Lachung is a scenic mountain village that boasts of its lofty snow-capped mountain peaks, scenic waterfalls, sparkling brooks and apple and apricot orchards. There is also a handicraft centre at Lachung that offers a glimpse of skills of people of Sikkim. Our main place of visit would in Lachung would be the Yumthang Valley, which is a grazing pasture surrounded by the mountains. Yumthang is also known as Valley of Flowers is situated at an altitude of 3,564 metres. The valley is a home to the famed Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary that has over twenty-four species of the Rhododendron flowers. Adding to the beauty is a tributary of River Teesta that flows through the valley and the town of Lachung. Yumthang is an ideal place for spending a blissful time amidst nature, it also gives one the opportunity to reconnect with Mother Nature and see its bounty. We shall also visit the hot water spring that is believed to have medicinal properties. On our way back from Lachung, we shall stop by to watch the beauty of Bheema and Twin Waterfalls.

Other Benfits (On Arrival)

On arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport, our representative will be there to meet and greet you and transfer you to Gangtok (5,480 ft.). On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free for leisure. An overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

After breakfast in the morning, we will start an excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) and Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.), which are about 55 km one way from Gangtok city. After exploring the lake and the temple, return back to your hotel in Gangtok for an overnight stay.

Gangtok – Lachen (118 Kms/6 hrs)

In the morning, we will drive to Lachen (9,400 ft, 118 km). On the way, we will visit Seven Sister Waterfalls. Later, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Check in at the hotel in the late afternoon. Rest of the day is free to relax followed by an overnight stay at the hotel in Lachen.

Lachen – Gurudongmar Lake (40 kms each side) – Lachung (44 kms/2 hrs)

Today in the morning, we will drive towards Gurudongmar Lake (17,000ft). Only Indians are allowed to visit this lake.

Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest situated lakes in North Sikkim. Note that the altitude here may cause breathing problem so be conscious.

After exploring the lake return back to the hotel and leave for Lachung. Enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Lachung.

Lachung – Yumthang Valley Excursion (21 kms each side) – Gangtok (118 kms/6 hrs)

After breakfast in the morning, we will proceed to Yumthang Valley which is also known as the Valley of Flowers (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts / 25 Kms / 1 ½ hours one way). On the way back, we will visit the hot spring which is considered to have medicinal properties. Later return back to the hotel & leave for Gangtok. An overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.

Gangtok Departure

In the morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel on time and get transfer to the NJP Railway station / IXB Airport for your onward journey.

The secondary airport to travel to Sikkim is Bagdogra Airport (IXB) near Siliguri. It lies about 125 km from the state capital and is approachable via taxi or bus in about three hours. Bagdogra Airport is directly connected with Delhi and Kolkata by nonstop flights.

The state is accessible from northern areas of West Bengal. Please Do NOT Book their packages Our trip to Srinagar with Thrillophilia turned into a hilarious (in the way that makes you want to cry) mess. Please rather go for local tour operators who are easily reachable and charge you almost 5-6000 less per person!! It started with the sales guy Mr Yash chasing us for a payment past his bedtime - should've been our first clue! We were promised the world, but what we got was a fantasy itinerary compared to the, ahem, "reality" on the ground. Hotels in the middle of nowhere, a radio silent point of contact named Mr. Aman, and a driver more interested in commissions than sightseeing made us feel like we were on a hidden camera prank show. Things got even more "interesting" when a medical emergency popped up in our group. Thrillophilia, despite seeing the medical documents. Our driver stranded us miles from a tourist spot and then refused to pick us up, forcing us on a lovely hike with a toddler. .Thrillophilia mentally tortured us and left us feeling like we'd paid them to play a cruel joke on us. We're not letting this go. We're taking our story to the consumer forums to warn others about Thrillophilia's brand of "adventure tourism" and make sure these kinds of shenanigans don't fly. Similar thing happened on the trip to Ladakh as well, with our friends. Once the money is paid, they will not pick up the call. They will ask us to message for everything but they do not respond. - The Vietnam trip was supposed to be my dream come true trip. But I was part of senior citizens. - they said 25 people would be there on the trip. But only 4 people were there and all are senior citizens. - They gave triple sharing rooms everywhere and the rooms were so small. But initially, they said it was a double sharing room (Read all the clauses properly before paying). They are big time cheaters. - They said all the rooms are 4 star category and its all a lie. They are ok ok hotels. We 3 dint have enough space to keep our luggage. And the bed was close to washroom. No space to enter into washroom. I had a hit once to the bed once. Attaching pics for reference. - During the trip also if we need any help their customercare / the person who assigned for you will not answer the calls. I thought only I am going through these challenges but later I came to know (I met a couple of people in Vietnam who came thru Thrillophilia) that all had the same issues. Firstly I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to Mukul and Vedant for being a pillar of support throughout my journey from start to finish. They truly had my best interest in mind and would follow up every other day if all was going well. This gave me a real sense of comfort, knowing I had people concerned about my safety - up there climbing Everest. Secondly all hats off to Himalayan Social Journey for truly being wonderful organisers and managers of our group and absolute 5 stars to my trek guide Santosh, for whom I have the highest regard and respect as he took good care of the entire group and lead us to victory in reaching the Base Camp. His overall bubbly, humourous personality and calm composed demeanour in all times tough and easy was what kept us going and further strengthened our ' no giving up' attitude. The trek was difficult no doubt, but having an agency like Thrillophilla and Himalayan Social Journey to do it with, just made it alot easier. This was my first trek in the himalayas. We had opted for Kedarkantha Trek.The experience was surreal. At the beginning, I was worried whether we'll be able to make it to the summit but our guide was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the entire journey. The locations we visited were excellent, and we had a great trip with lots of pictures. All in all, I had a great time and saw a lot of interesting locations. Executive Kanika was very helpful and helping in all the ways whenever required help. Starting process was little difficult after paying the initial amount but later when final executive was assigned I was worried. But Kanika made us fell better by helping in all the ways possible. Please DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM ‼️ I booked tickets to the Van Gogh museum through them. I bought three of them. When we went there, we weren’t allowed entry, they told us, this happens Al the time . I showed the email I got and the confirmation code , but they told me it is a scam. The whole website is random and unprofessional. I sent an email to this scam website, but they answered med we a genreted answer that it’s not in their policy to refund med and bla bla bla. Basically they could’ve just wrote “we scammed ya!”.
