Jamie Lynn Spears, Alyson Hannigan join ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 32 cast

Season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars” is almost here, and the list of celebrities putting on their dancing shoes for the upcoming season has finally been revealed.

On Sept. 13, the show's official social media accounts announced the official cast Season 32 cast after previously confirming actor Jamie Lynn Spears, "Vanderpump Rules" star Ariana Madix and "The Bachelorette" star Charity Lawson would compete for the mirror ball trophy.

Spears, who is the youngest sister of Britney Spears, and her partner, dance pro Alan Bersten, were the first pair to be revealed. The show uploaded an Instagram reel on Sept. 12 that shows Bersten joining Spears for a rehearsal.

"I can't wait to show you my moves," Spears says in the video.

The show’s official Instagram account had previously shared a teaser for the upcoming season in August that showed hosts Alfonso Ribeiro, 51, and Julianne Hough, 35, displaying some impressive moves.

The two then come together and Ribeiro flips, spins and dips Hough before the clip ended.

“It’s a new spin on Dancing with the Stars!” the caption said.

The new season will arrive this fall on ABC, marking a return to the network after the most recent season aired exclusively on Disney+. Episodes from Season 32 will also stream on Disney+ and Hulu the following day.

“DWTS” pros celebrated the competition show’s return in the comments.

Emma Slater cheered, “What a promo!!!!!!”

Bersten wrote, “That trick in the end though! Let’s go @therealalfonsoribeiro.”

The account also shared the Season 32 poster in a separate post.

Hough and Ribeiro pose together in front of a giant disco ball in the snap — a nod to the show’s famous Mirrorball Trophy that the winner receives every season.

“The Mirrorball is shining brighter than ever,” the caption said.

Hough shared her enthusiasm beneath the post.

“SO excited!” she wrote and included three red heart emoji.

The professional ballroom dancer and actor, who previously won two seasons with her celebrity partners and briefly served as a judge, is helping usher in a new era for the series.

Fans of the show can expect quite a few changes when “Dancing With the Stars” premieres this fall. Read on to meet the full cast and learn how the show is putting a “new spin” on Season 32.

When does Season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars” begin?

“DWTS” will premiere Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. ET.

Since the show’s fourth season in March 2007, “DWTS” has aired on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.

ABC previously revealed it will alter its fall schedule.

Variety reported on Aug. 21 that the “Golden Bachelor,” which was originally supposed to air after “DWTS” on Mondays, will air on Thursdays. The outlet said that ABC plans to reveal more information about its Monday and Tuesday nights’ lineups soon.

Who is now hosting ‘DWTS’?

Hough is joining Ribeiro to host Season 32 after Tyra Banks exited the show in March 2023.

Variety confirmed at the time that Banks was leaving “DWTS” after serving as producer and host.

Banks replaced former hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews in Season 29. Banks hosted solo until Ribeiro, who won Season 19, became a co-host in Season 31 .

Three days after Variety reported Banks had departed the show, the publication announced that Hough was returning to the franchise as a co-host with Ribeiro.

“It is such an honor to be rejoining ‘Dancing with the Stars’ as co-host,” Hough said in a statement to Variety. “The show holds such a special place in my heart from the many years and different roles I have had the privilege of being a part of.”

She added, “The incredible team that brings the ballroom to life every night has been my family for the past 17 years.”

Hough said she was looking forward to reuniting with the judges: Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and brother Derek Hough.

Head judge Len Goodman retired from the show at the end of Season 31, which concluded in November 2022.

In April, his manager confirmed in a statement obtained by TODAY.com that Goodman died at the age of 78 . Variety reported that Goodman had bone cancer and died in hospice in England.

Who will be competing on ‘DWTS’ this season?

The show previously revealed three of the celebrity dancers: Madixl, Lawson and Lawson.

Madix and Derek Hough shared the casting news in July by uploading identical videos to their Instagram accounts . In the clip, Derek Hough strolls into Madix’s sandwich shop, Something About Her, and asks if she has any plans for the fall.

He invites her to be a contestant and she replies, “Let’s do it! I’m in,” before shaking his hand.

The Bravo star expressed her excitement in the comments.

“I’m beyond grateful, excited, and nervous all rolled into one!” she wrote. “Absolutely thrilled!”

Additionally, after getting engaged on "The Bachelorette" finale Aug. 21, it was announced that Lawson would also compete in the new season.

"A whole new journey begins for @CharityLaws_ as she joins Dancing with the Stars, coming this fall," ABC later confirm ed after the episode.

Check out the rest of the Season 32 cast below.

Dancing With the Stars formally kicked off its post- Tyra Banks chapter on Monday with the release of Season 32’s official poster, which places new hosting duo Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough front and center.

As previously reported, Hough stepped in for Banks, whose departure after three seasons was announced in March. (Ribeiro has been with DWTS since Season 31.)

Conspicuously missing from the new poster: a specific fall premiere date. (You can glimpse ABC’s strike-altered fall schedule here .)

The full Season 32 cast — which so far includes Vanderpump Rules ‘ Ariana Madix  — will be unveiled on Good Morning America on Sept. 13.

Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli will all return for the new season, although it remains to be seen if the show will replace former head judge Len Goodman, who retired at the end of Season 31 (and  sadly passed away  in April after a battle with bone cancer).

Banks took over as  Dancing ‘s sole host in September 2020, after Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews were abruptly fired  from the series earlier that summer. At the time, executive producer Andrew Llinares — who later departed  Dancing  ahead of Season 31 — called the hosting shake-up a necessary “evolution” for the show.

Tyra was a terrible fit for the show. Thankful she’s out. Still think Tom and Erin got the shaft. Alfonso and Julianne will probably be fine. Will miss Len tremendously.

“At the time, executive producer Andrew Llinares — who later departed Dancing ahead of Season 31 — called the hosting shake-up a necessary “evolution” for the show.”

Really? REALLY? A superior “evolution” would have been attracting actual STARS. I quit watching when Tom and Erin were unceremoniously fired. Not sure I’ll give the show another chance. Not interested in watching “influencers” and “reality show” brats!!!

Same here. Would not watch the Tyra fiasco. Still on the fence if I will watch again. But this group of hosts/judges might bring it back into mey life. We’ll see.

Actual STARS are probably too busy with their careers to waste time ona show like DWRS.

Thank God. I stopped watching DWTS because of Tyra Banks!

Tyra was awful in so many ways. Not a.big fab of the Houghs but they are an improvement. They do need a Len type judge

There will never be another Len. One of a kind. Derek can be as precise, and I like him. He has big shoes to fill, I think he has become the embodiment/spokes person for ballroom dance, along with his sister. He can’t be Len, but things always change from generation to generation.

Thank God the show is coming back to channel 7 (in Los Angeles). One of the few things my Aunt Marguerite Ray and I enjoyed together was watching the show. We know longer had that because we both refused to purchase Disney+. During that time she passed away. I will continue to watch for the both of us, and remember her with fond memories.

I’m sorry for your loss.

Marguerite Ray from the Young and the Restless? I loved her. I’m so sorry for your loss.

I expect it to premiere on Monday, Oct. 2 (following NFL games on Sep. 11, 18, 25), but I wonder if the strike makes any difference. I’m sure it does for who they can get to participate… but I wonder about the date.

I don’t think the strike bans them appearing as themselves.

Correct: https://tvline.com/lists/actors-strike-questions-answered-game-shows-soap-operas-sag-aftra/

I think while a loophole may exist for SAG members to appear on DWTS, they might be cautious on the optics of still helping one of the big producers (ABC/Disney) that they are striking against in helping them with content to fill during the strike. I’m guessing we will only see SAG members were weren’t getting much work even without the strike and then reality stars, social media stars and athletes rounding out the cast.

I don’t know if Alfonso is a SAG member, but he is an actor. I’m sure it will be hard for him, but if the SAG-AFTRA contract allows for the exemption, I know he’ll do a stellar job.

Football is scheduled to return on 11/20 according to the most recent available schedule. Which would put the 11/6 & 11/13 as the November dates.

Reality shows don’t apply to the actors strike

That’s Julianne Hough? I’ve only ever seen her on DWTS, but I would have never guessed that’s her.

The Photoshop is strong on both, yikes!

It is, but if I had just seen the image at the top of the article with no context, I would have recognized Alfonso. Would have never guessed Julianne.

Just so happy that Tyra is gone!!!!!!! I still miss Tom – he was the best!! – but I can live with Alfonso & Julianne as long as she doesn’t overdo it. She can be a bit much! But still way, way better than Tyra!! And I still love the pros! Also, hope they stick to 3 judges. With Len gone, we don’t need a 4th judge.

I still think DWTS was wrong to get rid of Tom and Erin as hosts. BIG mistake. That said, Alfonso will be fine, IMO. He stepped in for Tom once years ago and did a great job. (I hated him as a guest judge though) Julianne is loved by many. I think she’ll make a good host as well though she does get to be a bit much for me at times. I have no clue why I’m even commenting. I stopped watching DWTS years ago. lol. Maybe I’ll start watching again. .

I think it is shameful the way Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews were treated. I have not watched the show since they decided to fire them.

If I can’t have Tom and Erin back, Julianne and Alfonso will be ok, especially after the Tyra debacle! I’d love to See Cheryl Burke in the judges chair as well. She’s the ultimate pro and has so much experience.

Thank Goodness Tyra is gone. She never did get the show was DANCING With the Stars, not PRANCING Around the Stars

Finally NO Tyra. Now I will watch DWTS again. Thank you for to her GONE.

perfect hose choices So glad DWTS is back in regular tv Now I can watch properly again

I hate Alfonso Ribero as well – can we already get him replaced?? Bring back Tom Bergeron or someone equally likeable. That’s not Alfonso or Tyra.

Tyra was only on for two seasons.

Alfonso is terrible on AFV, almost can’t stand him. His banter between videos is sickening cutesy, his interviews of weekly winners are poor. Good thing I don’t watch DWTS.

I’m sure there are writers who script that banter and interview questions. It was the same with Tom B.

It’s almost like you’ve never watched AFV before.

I stopped watching when they let disgraced political operatives, who openly lied to us as a country, onto the show for image rehab. Bleugh. It’s a big no.

Don’t watch anymore. Loved Tom and Erin and you used to actually have STARS…..not so called celebrities no one has ever heard of. I like Julianne ok….don’t know about as a host….but Alfonso I don’t care for.

I am so glad for the new hosts. I love them. It was time for Tyra to go!

I love the new hosts. They will bring elation and great dancing to Dancing with the Stars

I am sooooooo happy Tyra Banks is gone! She was so terrible at hosting the show.

Good to see that they are going back to abc and Hulu. I think they realized a lot of people left them because of that. Good to see Alfonso is back. I still miss Erin Andrew’s and Tom Bergeron, that was another bad move they made for no good reason.

Alfonso is too childish as a host! I will have to pass as I did when Tyra hosted. I really miss DWTS!!

Glad Andrew Llinnares is gone! He all but ruined one of my favorite shows!!

If the show is live both on-air and streaming, what will happen on Disney+ while ABC is running commercials?

I want Tom and Erin back!!!!!!

Glad, SO Glad Tyra is out!!! Now get rid of Alfonzo!!! Won’t watch because of him. Big mouth, thinks it’s all about him! He’s just a male version of Tyra

I’m glad that dancing with the stars is returning back to ABC so that the world can see these stars hidden talents on the dance floor. I’m truly looking forward to the premiere of the show which kicks off this fall, I suggest if there’s no one to fill Lens seat as a judge, the producer and executive producer should do something out of box and give me a try at judging I able to add a lil something to the show, willing to give a new venture to even myself I go by the name of Mikey G. And I’m from Clinton Hill Bklyn NY, Hey ya never know new ideas, new creation to keep this show running as long as Soul Train did from back in the 70’s to this Millennium era. 👌🏾

Great .So happy DWTS is coming back to ABC.

Dancing with the Stars 2023 release date, cast, and everything we know

By michael weyer | sep 12, 2023.

DANCING WITH THE STARS - Key Art. (ABC)

Updated : Sept. 21, 2023 – Dancing with the Stars season 32 is almost here! Fans of the celebrity dance competition have been anticipating the new season since Vanderpump Rules ‘ Ariana Madix was announced on Good Morning America as the first contestant in the upcoming season.

The show has undergone more than a few changes this past year, from the departure of a host to a shift from ABC to streaming and back. So here’s what we know so far about the new season!

Will Dancing with the Stars be on Disney+?

Fans of the dance competition weren’t happy about Disney’s decision to move the series from ABC to Disney+ which required viewers to have a subscription to the streamer to watch the beloved program. While it streamed live and retained at home voting during season 31, the change wasn’t well received. As such the decision to move the show back to ABC will likely be favorable.

This, however, doesn’t mean Dancing with the Stars won’t stream on Disney+. Deadline reports that season 32 will simulcast on ABC and Disney+ while next day viewing will be available on Hulu.

Dancing with the Stars release date

Instead of airing on Mondays, as previously announced, ABC has shifted the series to Tuesdays. Season 32 premieres Sept. 26, 2023 at 8 p.m. ET. It’ll likely running from September to Thanksgiving.

Currently, ABC’s entire scripted line-up is in limbo due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike . The dance competition’s return to the network establishes that ABC has a proven hit on the schedule during this difficult time in the industry.

Will Dancing with the Stars be affected by the strikes?

Prior to the start of Dancing with the Stars season 32 promo rollout, it didn’t look like the series would be impacted by the strikes outside of what industries the celebrities selected to be in the cast work in. This is because game shows, reality series, and variety shows operate under the Network Code which is a different contract from the ones the WGA and SAG-AFTRA are negotiating with the AMPTP.

However, the show does employ one WGA writer has been in the news as of late because union members have been picketing rehearsals and calling for select cast members like Matt Walsh, Mira Sorvino, and Alyson Hannigan to pull out of the competition. The mounting pressure has ABC gearing up for the potential of delaying the season premiere if an agreement isn’t reached between the WGA and the AMPTP on Thursday, Sept. 21. We’ll keep you posted.

Who is Ariana Madix on Dancing with the Stars?

Ariana Madix is a Vanderpump Rules star who has been in the news due to a cheating scandal involving her long-time boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, who cheated on her with her Vanderpump co-star Raquel Leviss. The scandal ( nicknamed “Scandoval” on social media ) propelled Vanderpump to record high ratings and should lead to more attention for Madix on this show.

Born in Florida, Madix won two national dance championships which proves she has the goods for the show. An expert rider, she also earned two degrees from Flagler College, worked as a variety of princesses in Disney World, and was a bartender before joining Vanderpump Rules in 2013. Between her various endorsement deals and past entertainment experience, Madix should have the flair to pull this off.

Who is Rylee Arnold on Dancing with the Stars?

Arnold is the newest Pro partner. She’s the youngest sister of Pro partner and Mirrorball Champion Lindsay Arnold (who isn’t in season 32). The new cast member is 18 years old and does have Dancing with the Stars experience as she competed in the Junior version of the series back in 2018. Arnold was 13 at the time and was partnered with black-ish star Miles Brown. Her sister coached them during the competition. They were the runners-up.

Why did Tyra Banks leave Dancing with the Stars?

It was a bit controversial when supermodel Tyra Banks became the show’s new host in 2020. She was criticized as lacking the flair needed for the role, and ratings declined a bit. Banks announced she was leaving the show in May of 2023 .

She stated that she simply wanted to focus on her other businesses, from fashion to other TV hosting gigs. It appears her departure was a mutual decision by Banks and the producers and there’s a chance she might make a return but not in a full-time hosting gig.

Former DWTS pro dancer and judge Julianne Hough has been tapped as her replacement and will co-host with Alfonso Riberio.

Dancing with the Stars 2023 judges

It’s a sad time for Dancing with the Stars fans as veteran judge Len Goodman passed away from cancer in April. The rest of the panel, Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli, will return for the new season, but there’s been no word on who will be Goodman’s replacement.

Dancing with the Stars 2023 cast

  • Tyson Beckford (52), supermodel | Partner : Jenna Johnson
  • Xochitl Gomez (17), actress | Partner : Val Chmerkovskiy
  • Alyson Hannigan (49), actress| Partner : Sasha Farber

  • Charity Lawson (27), reality TV personality ( The Bachelorette ) | Partner : Artem Chigvintsev

  • Jason Mraz (46), singer-songwriter | Partner : Daniella Karagach
  • Adrian Peterson (38), NFL player | Partner : Britt Stewart
  • Lele Pons (27), YouTube personality and singer | Partner : Brandon Armstrong

  • Matt Walsh (53), actor and comedian | Partner : Koko Iwasaki
  • Barry Williams (68), actor | Partner : Peta Murgatroyd

Matt Walsh “pauses” his involvement with Dancing with the Stars 2023

Walsh, who is a member of SAG-AFTRA and the WGA, has chosen to “pause” his work on Dancing with the Stars amid pressure from fellow union members who are calling for the new season to be delayed. The show employs one WGA writer and is considered to be a struck production by the union. Read Walsh’s statement, per TVLine , below:

"I am taking a pause from Dancing with the Stars until an agreement is made with the WGA. I was excited to join the show and did so under the impression that it was not a WGA show and fell under a different agreement. This morning when I was informed by my union, the WGA, that it is considered struck work I walked out of my rehearsal. I have been and will always stand with my union members of the WGA, SAG and DGA. Beyond our union artists, I am sensitive to the many people impacted by the strike and I hope for a speedy and fair resolution, and to one day work again with all the wonderful people I met at DWTS who tolerated my dancing."

‘DWTS’ Cast Member Confirms Spot on Season 33

Fans of “Dancing With the Stars” will see the return of a show veteran for season 33.

In an April 2024 interview with The Sun, original DWTS judge Bruno Tonioli addressed his 2022 departure from the U.K. dancing show “Strictly Come Dancing” and his new role on “Britain’s Got Talent.” He then clarified that he would return to the ABC ballroom as a judge for “Dancing With the Stars” season 33.

“I’m still doing the American [dancing show], and I’m very passionate about it,” the Italian choreographer told the outlet as he teased his return to the “Dancing With the Stars” panel.

Here’s what you need to know:

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 32 Was Difficult for Bruno Tonioli

ABC/YouTube Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba cry following tribute to Len Goodman.

Tonioli, 68, has been a judge on DWTS since 2005 alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, and with Derek Hough since 2020.  Their longtime co-star and head judge Len Goodman passed away from cancer in April 2023 at age 79.

In October 2023,  pro dancers from the “Dancing With the Stars” cast performed an emotional tribute to Goodman, which left the entire ballroom in tears. Tonioli was visibly shaken as the “Moon River” themed dance ended with a spotlight on Tonioli’s empty chair.

Tonioli told The Sun that he received a final message from his longtime friend not long before his death. “Len sent me a wonderful email just before he passed away, which is still very hard to talk about,” Tonioli shared. “I can’t even speak about him not being here. But that email meant a lot to me.”

During a previous appearance on “Live With Kelly and Mark,” Tonioli admitted that while he knew Goodman had been sick and was seeking treatment, he wasn’t expecting his death to ”happen so soon.”

“I actually got an email from him when it was announced that I was doing ‘Britain’s Got Talent,’ Tonioli told “Live” co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. “Very nice, and then it ended with a ‘Thank you.”

Tonioli became emotional as he said, “I actually, I can’t [talk about it] because Len would hate doing this. He’d be like, ‘Oh, get up, Bruno. You’re a lucky man and we had a great life. We had a great time, enjoy! Make every day count and have a good time.’ And that’s his spirit, so we have to celebrate him because the life he would want is [that].”

Julianne Hough Will Also Return to ‘Dancing With the Stars’ For Season 33

ABC Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough of “Dancing with the Stars.”

The official cast for “Dancing With the Stars” season 33 has not been confirmed by ABC. Contestants for the celebrity dance-off usually aren’t announced until late August or early September. But In March, Deadline confirmed that Julianne Hough will be back as co-host for DWTS season 33 this fall.

The casting news came not long after Hough announced the cancelation of her “Dancing with the Stars Live” tour dates due to a scheduling conflict. According to Us Weekly, in February Hough shared the update on her Instagram story. “I’ve been so looking forward to getting to connect with all our amazing fans on the road and perform live alongside the DWTS Tour cast for select dates,” she told fans on Instagram. “However, due to a change in my production shooting schedule, a conflict has come up. I will no longer be able to join the tour for my scheduled dates.”

Hough’s return to the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom this fall will likely be alongside co-host Alfonso Ribeiro. The full cast will be announced later in 2024.

The 10 Celebrities We'd Love to See in 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 33

These 10 celebrities would be perfect to compete for the Mirror Ball Trophy!

Although there is still quite some time until a brand-new season of Dancing With The Stars airs, fans are already speculating about which celebrities may be cast for the dancing competition. Based off previous years, season 33 of the show is assumed to premiere sometime in September 2024. Typically, the cast is made up of 14 couples, including seven male celebrities and seven female celebrities.

While there are different stars that compete on the hit show every season, the foundation of the cast is usually the same. Every season tends to have at least one athlete, a singer, a reality star and either an actor or actress, or sometimes even both. Many times, there will also be a star that has recently been caught up in some type of controversy. For example, in the most recent season, Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Maddix was a part of the cast. Prior to joining the show, Ariana's longtime boyfriend and co-star Tom Sandoval cheated on her with her best friend. The scandal was the talk of all the reality TV world. Additionally, in recent years, social media influencers have been added to the cast roster as well.

Dancing with the Stars

1 alix earle, social media personality.

One of the biggest social media influencers right now is Alix Earle . Within the last two years, Alix has grown a TikTok following of over 6 million users. Alix is known for sharing getting-ready videos on her social media pages, which has contributed to her massive rise as a social media celebrity.

At the beginning of her social media journey, Alix was very open about her journey with acne, which made her become quite relatable and likable to her viewers. Alix would bring a young audience to the show. Similar to season 32's Harry Jowsey , Alix is guaranteed to make it far in the competition even if she is not the best dancer due to her loyal fan base that is sure to vote for her every week.

2 Travis Kelce

Kansas city chiefs tight end.

The most ideal athlete to cast for Dancing With The Stars season 33 is Travis Kelce . Travis is a professional football player who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs . Despite being in the NFL for nearly 11 years, Travis recently rose to immense fame due to his new relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift .

Unfortunately, due to the football season lining up with the typical schedule of Dancing With The Stars , Travis more than likely would not be able to compete on the show. However, Travis' brother, Jason Kelce, who is also an NFL player for the Philadelphia Eagles , could possibly take on the ballroom in the fall. Jason is currently considering retiring from the NFL , which would free up his schedule to be on the show.

3 Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks would definitely stir up the ballroom. After longtime host Tom Bergeron was suddenly fired from the show following season 28 in 2019, Tyra took over as the solo host in 2020. Tyra continued hosting the dancing competition up until the most recent season. Tyra was joined by Alfonso Ribeiro as a co-host during season 31.

Many longtime fans were not impressed by Tyra's hosting skills, but could her dancing redeem herself? Despite her potential to be a good dancer or not, there is one thing guaranteed. Tyra would definitely thrive in all the costumes throughout the competition.

4 Katelyn Brown

Country singer.

There is almost always a singer on a season of Dancing With The Stars . For season 32, Katelyn Brown could potentially fill that role. Katelyn is the wife of popular country singer Kane Brown . The couple had a hit song together, which began Katelyn's singing career. Katelyn also had a large following on social media.

Competing on Dancing With The Stars would help Katelyn come out of her shell even more than performing live with Kane has. Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that Katelyn will join the upcoming season as she is currently pregnant . Although her due date is unknown, Katelyn will more than likely be too busy living in newborn bliss to take on such a time-consuming responsibility. Maybe next year.

5 Joey Graziadei

Reality tv star.

It's almost a given that the most recent Bachelor or Bachelorette lead is on the following season of Dancing With The Stars . This season's lead is Joey Graziadei . Joey was first a contestant on The Bachelorette during which he fought for Charity Lawson's heart, who competed on Dancing With The Stars season 32.

At the end of the season, Charity had to make the decision between Joey and her now fiancé, Dotun Olubeko . Although Joey was left heartbroken, he is now on his own journey of finding love on this season of The Bachelor . There is a very high possibility of Joey taking on the ballroom next season with his potential fiancé cheering him on.

6 Gypsy Rose Blanchard

One of the most controversial people that could be cast for the next season of Dancing With The Stars is Gypsy Rose Blanchard . Gypsy was recently released from a seven-year prison sentence for assisting in the murder of her mother. Growing up, Gypsy was a victim of Munchausen by proxy. In simple terms, Gypsy's mom convinced Gypsy, doctors and everyone around them that Gypsy was very sick.

In doing so, she had multiple medical procedures done on Gypsy, none of which were necessary. Upon discovering the truth, Gypsy, with the help of her boyfriend at the time, murdered her mom. Gypsy served seven years in jail while her now ex-boyfriend is serving a life sentence. Since being released from jail, Gypsy has started a brand-new life. She is married, has quickly grown a large following on social media and has even done a press tour. Being the talk of the town, Gypsy could potentially be one of the most controversial people to ever compete on Dancing With The Stars .

7 Tom Sandoval

Another controversial potential contestant for Dancing With The Stars is Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval . Like Gypsy, Tom would also be a controversial celeb to take on the ballroom; however, for very different reasons. Tom is the ex-boyfriend of Ariana Maddix, and Ariana also competed on Dancing With The Stars season 32, although, she didn't take home the crown.

She and her pro-partner, Pasha Pashkov ,came in third place in the season; so she is champing at the bit to get a second chance to win the Mirror Ball Trophy. Competing on the show was Ariana's comeback after her recent relationship drama with Tom. For context, in March 2023, Ariana discovered that Tom had been cheating on her with her close friend Raquel Leviss . By competing on Dancing With The Stars , Tom would finally get to tell his side of the story.

8 James Corden

Late night tv personality.

Someone has to bring some comedic relief to the grueling rehearsal hours of Dancing With The Stars , and James Corden could do just that. James is a comedic actor who also hosted a late night talk show, The Late Late Show With James Corden , for eight years. The most popular part of his show was his iconic "Carpool Karaoke" segments. Over the years, James has proven himself to have musical talents, but his ability to ballroom dance is unclear.

Now that the show is no longer on the air, James has a more open schedule to take on the opportunity of competing in the dancing competition. Because James does in fact have an ear for music, he could make for a good dancer as well. Unfortunately, because James' talk show aired on a competing network, it is very unlikely that he would compete on Dancing With The Stars even though it is no longer on air.

9 Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola

It has been the year of Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola's reality TV return and competing on Dancing WIth The Stars would be the cherry on the cake of her year in the spotlight. Sammi was one of the original Jersey Shore roommates but opted out of returning to filming alongside her longtime roommates for the spin-off show in 2018. In 2023, Sammi was finally in a place in her life that she felt comfortable filming again.

Sammi made her shocking Jersey Shore: Family Vacation debut during season 6 of the show, in which she reunited with her roommates for the first time in many years. Sammi would not be the first Jersey Shore star to compete on Dancing With The Stars . Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and, most recently, Vinny Guadagnino have all competed in the ballroom. Sammi could be the first Jersey Shore roommate to take home the Mirror Ball Trophy.

10 Matt Rife

Matt Rife is a comedian that rose to fame nearly overnight through the power of social media. In a short period of time, Matt has grown millions of followers and is now touring the world doing stand-up. Many clips from his stand-up shows have gone viral on TikTok . Although some of his jokes can be controversial, Matt's following continues to grow. Similar to Alix Earle , Matt would be nearly guaranteed to make it far in the competition despite his potential dancing abilities, due to his insanely large following.

Unfortunately, when stars like this compete on Dancing With The Stars and continue to make it far in the competition even when they are not the best dancer simply due to their large fan base , it ultimately takes the opportunity away from another contestant who may be better at dancing. This is what happened in the most recent season with Harry Jowsey. Hopefully, whichever celebs get cast for Dancing With The Stars season 33 make it far in the dancing competition simply because of their high scores and improvement in the ballroom rather than their large fan base.

All the episodes of Dancing With the Stars S eason 32 are available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S.

Dancing With the Stars  is ABC’s reality TV dance competition series based on BBC’s  Strictly Come Dancing . The series, which premiered in 2005, pairs celebrities with professional dancers. The couples then compete against each other for judges’ points and audience votes. The pair with the lowest combined judges’ points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only one champion remains. That couple is declared the winner and receives the coveted Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Len Goodman were the original judges and the trio remained on the show together until Goodman retired during Season 31. Just five months later, the ballroom legend died on April 22, 2023, following a private battle with bone cancer. Tonioli and Goodman were very closed and also worked together other on Strictly Come Dancing ; Goodman left the show in 2016 and Tonioli followed in 2019.

Season 32 of Dancing With the Stars  marked the first season without Goodman, and Tonioli has been open about how difficult it was to not have his friend there with him. That same year, the British-Italian choreographer added another television gig to his plate and began judging Britain’s Got Talen t . He then returned to the America’s Got Talent spin-off for Season 17, which kicked off on April 20, 2024. Between his hectic filming schedule and the loss of Goodman, fans are worried that Tonioli will not return to DWTS for Season 33. We have everything there is to know about Bruno Tonioli’s future on Dancing With the Stars  below.

Is Bruno Tonioli coming back for Dancing With the Stars Season 33?

Bruno Tonioli, Dancing With the Stars

Is Bruno Tonioli coming back for Dancing With the Stars Season 33? The answer is yes! In an April 2024 interview with The Sun , Tonioli revealed that he plans to make both Britain’s Got Talent and Dancing With the Stars work. “I’m still doing the American one and I’m very passionate about it,” he said of the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off. As for why he joined BGT , Tonioli noted: “S ometimes you have to try something new. It is good doing something different.”

“I’m so grateful to BGT for allowing me to show more of myself,” he added of his new role. “I’m Bruno unleashed now, darling! I can use all my range, it’s exciting.”

Tonioli also revealed that his former Strictly co-judges supported him in taking the job, including Goodman. “They have all been wonderful, Shirley, Craig, Anton, the producers, they’re still my friends, they are so supportive, as I am of them. So are Tess and Claudia,” he said, adding of Goodman: “Len sent me a wonderful email just before he passed away, which is still very hard to talk about … I can’t even speak about him not being here. But that email meant a lot to me.”

The television personality previously spoke about the final email he received from Goodman during a September 2023 appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark . “I actually got an email from him when it was announced that I was doing Britain’s Got Talent ,” he recalled. “Very nice, and then it ended with a ‘Thank you.’”

Tonioli then began tearing up and said: “I actually, I can’t [talk about it] because Len would hate doing this. He’d be like, ‘Oh, get up, Bruno. You’re a lucky man and we had a great life. We had a great time, enjoy! Make every day count and have a good time.’ And that’s his spirit, so we have to celebrate him because the life he would want is [that].”

Fans were worried that Tonioli’s involvement in the Simon Cowell-created show would prevent him from doing Dancing With the Stars , as the two shows film in different countries and the flying back and forth is what originally led Tonioli to leave  Strictly in 2019 after nearly two decades. “I just couldn’t do the flying any more. I don’t know how I survived that schedule. To be honest, it’s a miracle,” he said at the time, per Deadline .

Unlike with Strictly , though, a large part of BGT is prerecorded, aside from the Live Shows. This makes it a lot easier for Tonioli to get back to the states for DWTS , which is filmed live in the fall. Additionally, DWTS holds a special place in his heart and he’s been committed to the show for all 32 seasons.

Episodes of Dancing With the Stars can be streamed on Disney+ .

DWTS Season 32 judges real-life partners

<p>It’s not unusual for dancers to find love on <em>Dancing With the Stars</em>. But what about the competition’s judges? <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/gallery/dancing-with-the-stars-couples-still-together">Who are <em>Dancing With the Stars</em> judges dating and married to in real life</a>? Plus, learn which judge seriously dated a pro dancer back in the day.</p> <p><a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/tag/dancing-with-the-stars/"><em>DWTS</em></a> is ABC’s popular dance competition where professional dancers team up with celebrities to win the coveted Mirrorball trophy. The show premiered in 2005 and has aired for 32 seasons. Each week, competitors are eliminated based on public voting and scores received from the judges. Season 32 of <em>DWTS</em> premiered on September 26, 2023, and features the judging trio of Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough. (Check out our list of the <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/gallery/dancing-with-the-stars-2023-cast/dancing-with-the-stars-season-31/">entire cast</a> and <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/gallery/who-went-home-dancing-with-the-stars-2023/">eliminations</a> for Season 32 so far.)</p> <p>Inaba and Tonioli have judged the dancing competition since the show’s inception in 2005. (They were joined by Len Goodman, who retired last season and <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/soaps/news/669148/how-len-goodman-die/">passed away</a> in April 2022.) Meanwhile, Hough competed as a pro dancer for 17 seasons before switching over to judging permanently in 2020. Keep reading to learn about the real-life partners of Season 32’s <em>Dancing With the Stars</em> judges.</p>

Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert

<p><a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/soaps/news/690117/derek-hough-wife/">Derek Hough’s wife</a> is fellow <em>Dancing With the Stars</em> dancer Hayley Erbert. The couple met in 2014 when Erbert was hired for Derek and Julianne’s <em>Move Live!</em> tour. One year later, the two stars appeared on <em>Dancing With the Stars</em> and they started dating. Erbert was a dancer on the show for seven seasons and four tours. The couple <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CeT34pBpGA2/?hl=en">announced</a> their engagement on Instagram in June 2022, then wed over a year later in Monterey County, California, in front of 106 guests. </p> <p>Fellow <em>DWTS</em> pro dancer <a href="https://soaps.sheknows.com/soaps/news/677282/mark-ballas-wife/">Mark Ballas</a> was the best man, while pro dancer Britt Stewart was photographed in the bridal party. Also in attendance were <em>DWTS</em> co-host Alfonso Ribeiro and three of Hough’s former partners: Amy Purdy, Maria Menounos and Shawn Johnson.</p>

Bruno Tonioli and Jason Schanne

<p>Bruno Tonioli is not married, but it’s reported that the British-Italian choreographer has been in a long-term relationship with Jason Schanne for over a decade. <a href="https://hollywoodlife.com/feature/bruno-tonioli-partner-meet-his-boyfriend-jason-schanne-5173048/"><em>Hollywood Life</em></a> reported that the pair started dating in 2010 and had a commitment ceremony two years later.</p> <p>Although Tonioli has chosen to keep their relationship private (including on social media), the couple attended a rare public outing when they walked the red carpet at the <em>Mary Poppins Returns</em> London premiere in 2018.</p>

Carrie Ann Inaba and Jesse Sloan

<p>Longtime <em>DWTS</em> judge Carrie Ann Inaba is reportedly single. She was last seen with Fabien Viteri in 2020, to whom she was engaged. The pair dated for less than one year, and Inaba announced in May 2021 that she was single again.</p> <p>Prior to Viteri, she was engaged to Jesse Sloan, an accountant whom the judge met through eHarmony. Inaba accepted Sloan’s proposal while filling in for <em>Kelly Ripa on Live! With Regis and Kelly</em> in 2011. Unfortunately, it was confirmed that the wedding was off and their engagement had ended.</p> <p>Surprise! She also once dated <em>DWTS</em> pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev. The choreographers met on the set of <em>So You Think You Can Dance</em> in 2006. After nearly three years, Inaba and Chigvintsev called it quits, according to <a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/pictures/carrie-ann-inabas-dating-history-artem-chigvintsev-fabien-viteri/"><em>Us Weekly</em></a>.</p> <p>Chigvintsev ultimately found love on the show with his <em>DWTS </em>partner, WWE wrestler Nikki Bella. Bella and Chigvintsev got engaged in November 2019, had their son in July 2020 and wed in August 2022. </p>

Len Goodman

<p>Late <em>DWTS </em>judge Len Goodman was married to Sue Barrett at the time of his passing. They tied the knot in 2012, a decade after the pair first met at a golf course in 2002. Goodman once told <em><a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12006869/Who-Len-Goodmans-wife-Sue-Barrett-does-children.html">The Daily Mail</a> </em>that Barrett likes to stay out of the public eye. “She likes to stay out of the limelight,” he told the site. “She’s gorgeous and makes me very happy,”</p> <p>Goodman was previously married to his first wife (and former dance partner), Cherry Kingston, from 1972 to 1987.</p>

Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich

<p>Throughout Hough’s tenure on <em>DWTS, </em>the current co-host and former pro was also a permanent judge for five seasons of the competition. Hough has been engaged twice and married once. She was briefly married to Brooks Laich, but the pair separated in 2020 and were officially divorced in 2022.</p> <p>Hough revealed in an interview with <a href="https://www.womenshealthmag.com/life/a28451746/julianne-hough-naked-strength-interview/"><em>Women’s Health</em></a> in 2019 that she told Laich that she wasn’t straight. “I [told him], ‘You know I’m not straight, right?’ And he was like, ‘I’m sorry, what?’ I was like, ‘I’m not. But I choose to be with you,'” she recalled.</p>
