Prolific J-Pop Artist T.M. Revolution Is Doing The New Pokémon Theme

Popular Japanese artist T.M. Revolution and Golden Bomber's Shō "Kirisho" Kiryūin will be doing the new Pokémon Journeys theme song.

The anime series  Pokémon Journeys will be getting a new arrangement of its Japanese opening theme song "1, 2, 3" by T.M. Revolution and Golden Bomber's Shō "Kirisho" Kiryūin. It will premiere on August 9th when the 32nd episode of the show airs.

The original theme by After The Rain is super charming, but T.M. Revolution is well known in the Japanese music scene and could elevate it. His singles have been featured on other anime series, like Mobile Suit Gundam and Sengoku Basara , and he has fans worldwide. He's performed in the U.S. at events like OTAKON 2003 in Baltimore and Pacific Media Expo in Anaheim. He's also had three Top 10 charting hits on the Japanese Billboard with "Vestige," "Count ZERO," and "Flags." Perhaps this news from Anime News Network could give T.M. Revolution another chart topper.

After getting a coveted championship title in the Alolan region, Ash in  Journeys  goes on a worldwide adventure with his new friend Goh. The budding Pokemon Master enters the World Coronation series and hopes to have a match against the champion Leon (who is seen in Pokémon Sword & Shield ). Goh, meanwhile, is on quest to catch Mew, a legendary Pokémon he met when he was a younger child.

If you are interested in checking out  Pokémon Journeys , it is currently available to stream on Netflix and is airing on Canadian TV at Teletoon.

It has been almost 25 years since  Pokémon Red & Blue came out on the Game Boy, but the series is still going strong today. Trainers caught around 1 billion Pokémon during the 2020 Pokémon GO Fest, and the latest console entry  Pokémon  Sword & Shield  shipped over 16 million copies in less than 2 months after its release. The series will continue to evolve with the times with its first step into the popular MOBA space on mobile and Switch,  Pokémon Unite.

The  Pokémon  series has a special place in many peoples' hearts, and this new theme song from T.M. Revolution and Kirisho will be a small extension of that. Let's hope the next mainline installment wows the fanbase and gets the series back on the right track.
