Tui Group to expand in new African destinations

Tui Group is accelerating its growth in sub-Saharan Africa with the development of hotels along the continent’s Indian Ocean coastline.

Sebastian Ebel, chief executive, recently visited Zanzibar – where the new Tui brand Mora opened its first property – and Kenya.

“Africa has great potential: culturally, scenically and economically,” he said.

“We are already represented on the west coast with Cape Verde and Senegal, and in the north with Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.

“Now another African cluster is being created on the east coast on the Indian Ocean.”

He said he sees “particular potential” for the Robinson and Tui Blue brands.

Construction will start shortly on two more Robinson Clubs in Africa: on Zanzibar and on the Cape Verdean island of Boa Vista.

More : Tui unveils new upscale hotel brand as part of Africa expansion

Tui has about 420 hotels and resorts within its own brands, Ebel noted, as well as its tour operations, cruises, experiences, activities and airline.

“After West Africa, we see great potential in East Africa, not only for guests from Europe, but also for new guests from North and South America and the Middle East,” he said.

Furthermore, the Tui Care Foundation, has already been active in several countries in sub-Saharan Africa for many years, providing training programmes and supporting small businesses since 2016.

The foundation recently launched a Tui Forest reforestation programme in Zanzibar and Kenya.

The new destination cluster on Zanzibar will see more of the group’s own hotel brands, an expanded flight offering and new experiences and activities for holidaymakers.

Peter Krüger, board member and chief executive of Holiday Experiences, said: “With our integrated business model, we are the preferred development partner for many destinations.

“In the coming years, we will also have an even stronger presence in Africa with our 12 own, differentiated and strong hotel brands such as Robinson, Tui Blue and Riu.

“This will also enable us to reach new guests – both via Tui’s tour operators and via our new global hotel distribution platform.”

Elsewhere, new hotels are planned in Senegal and the Gambia, and the range of properties in Cape Verde will be expanded.

TUI Hotels & Resorts delivering on growth strategy: New brand launched in Zanzibar

  • Hotel strategy focuses on differentiated products and global customer growth
  • TUI tabs into upscale customer segment with launch of new brand
  • Laid-back luxury for a new kind of holidaymaker
  • Hotel cluster development in Zanzibar continues

TUI Group's hotel growth strategy is increasingly focusing on destinations where a variety of hotel brands can be developed to meet the different holiday needs of guests. Zanzibar, for example, is a popular holiday destination all year round. It is therefore no coincidence that TUI chose the island off the East African coast for the launch of its new hotel brand The Mora. Nestled at Muyuni Beach, The Mora Zanzibar features 250 suites and four restaurants. The new brand name is derived from the Latin word for “pause” and the hotel experience is designed to appeal to a new kind of holidaymaker who is looking for laid-back, contemporary luxury with a highly tailored and flexible approach. The existing 5-star resort has been customised to meet the needs of these guests and now been officially opened in the presence of TUI CEO Sebastian Ebel and the President of Zanzibar His Excellency Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi.

"Our new hotel brand The Mora embraces a current trend: Experiences are becoming more important than possessions”, says TUI Group CEO Sebastian Ebel. “This development is proven by the strong performance of our successful hotel and cruise business with internationally recognised brands. We are now expanding our portfolio in the growing luxury segment, thereby reinforcing our strategy to attract new and existing customers to our holiday destinations worldwide.”

TUI Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio already includes three other hotels in Zanzibar, two Riu hotels and the TUI Blue Bahari Zanzibar. Further new hotel experiences are already being planned. The destination in the Indian Ocean is an appealing stopover for the luxury cruise ship MS Europa and offers a choice of 20 beachfront hotels for TUI’s tour operator guests. TUI Musement, the leading Tours & Activities business of TUI Group, offers more than 60 experiences in Zanzibar, including over 20 private excursions developed for The Mora guests. Peter Krueger, Executive Board member at TUI and responsible for the segment Holiday Experiences which includes the hotel business: "Building and operating hotel clusters under various brands is a key element of our TUI Hotels & Resorts strategy. Our vertical integrated business model at TUI Group gives us a strategic advantage of developing new destinations. Zanzibar is another great example of the development of a new destination and cluster. Our hotels business is set for strong growth and to support this we have invested in a global and multi-channel distribution platform. We aim to expand our TUI Hotels & Resorts portfolio globally to 600 hotels in the medium term. Since 18 months we are adding on average 10 new hotels per quarter to our pipeline that will be realised in the coming years and are well on track."

In order to drive the sustainable development of Zanzibar, TUI is working with the independent TUI Care Foundation, which is currently running four programmes on the island ranging from upcycling projects to fostering new social enterprises. TUI Care Foundation has started its activities on the island in 2016.

10 year passport rule ruins woman's holiday as she is refused from TUI flight

10 year passport rule ruins woman's holiday as she is refused from TUI flight

Better check your passport to make sure you don't fall foul of the same issue.

Tom Earnshaw

Tom Earnshaw

A woman has taken to TikTok to warn travellers about a '10 year passport rule' after she was refused permission to board a TUI flight for her holiday in Greece.

And yes, the issue comes down to Brexit and the rules and regulations millions of Brits have to abide by when travelling to countries in the European Union (EU) .

With the UK voting to leave the EU in 2016, it became subject to many of the same rules that are applied to other non-EU countries. And some of them aren't too great , with banning orders of three years now a possibility .

What happened to her?

TikTok user Fran Hainingg was set to fly off to Greece earlier this month but was stopped from boarding her TUI flight at its departure gate due to an issue with her passport.

It meant she couldn't board the flight and instead, had to turn around and head home to try and fix the issue.

Fran said: "I got declined to get on the flight because my passport was two days out of date from being 10 years old. So now we're driving to London from Bournemouth, which is going to take us three hours.

"So hopefully, fingers crossed, I can get a passport so we can get on a new flight."

Fran on her way to get a new passport (TikTok/franhainingg)

What is the 10 year rule?

Under old rules before Brexit, UK travellers could carry up to nine months left on an old passport on to a brand new one. It effectively meant your passport was valid for more than the 10 years issued.

Hypothetically, a passport could have been in March 2014 and still be valid in, say, November 2024 - some six months after the 10 year cut off for being valid.

But leaving the EU meant the rules changed. As a result, all EU countries except the Republic of Ireland will not accept a British passport issued more than a decade before your date of travel.

On top of that, your passport should be valid for at least three months after the date you intend to leave the EU. So

In Fran's case, her issue date was 30 August, 2014 and expiry was 28 February, 2025.

But because 30 August 2024 is less than three months from the date of her travelling in June this year, she was refused from the flight as per the guidelines. It saw Fran lost four days of her holiday as she booked an appointment to get a new passport in person before flying out to Greece.

Checking your passport

If you are travelling to any country in the European Union, as well as Iceland, Norway, Lichtenstein and Switzerland, UK passport holders should ensure their passports:

  • Have been issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the EU country; the 'date of issue', not the expiry date
  • Are valid for at least three months after the day you plan to leave

Blame Brexit (Matt Cardy/Getty Images)

'We recommend six months'

Gemma Brown, Head of Commercial and Travel expert at Travel Republic, said: “If travellers make it all the way to their boarding gate without checking, airlines can refuse those holding passports that were issued over 10 years ago. In this instance, passengers should be aware that denied boarding is reasonable due to inadequate travel documentation.

“The likelihood is that travel insurance providers would not cover any costs associated with invalid or expired passports, as it’s down to the traveller to triple check their documentation is correct.

“Our advice would be to ensure that your passport is within the 10 year issue date and is valid for at least six months from the date of departure to ensure you will be accepted into most countries.

"Regardless of passport rules, it’s important for all travellers to research the country they plan to visit and ensure they know what travel documentation is required upon entering and leaving. You can find foreign travel advice on the government website to make sure you have everything covered.”

Press release FTI Group

Companies of the fti group file for insolvency.

FTI Touristik GmbH files for insolvency on Monday, 3 June 2024 +++ Other Group companies will also file for insolvency in the coming days +++ The FTI GROUP does not include the TV channel sonnenklar.TV and TVG with its franchise German travel agencies, which are operated under the brands sonnenklar.TV, 5vorFlug and Flugbörse +++ A support hotline for direct contact and a website with FAQs have been set up for all customers of the tour operator group

Munich, 3 June 2024 – FTI Touristik GmbH, the parent company of the FTI GROUP as the third largest tour operator in Europe, will file an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings at the Munich Local Court on Monday, 3 June 2024. Initially, only the tour operator brand FTI Touristik is directly affected by this. Subsequently, however, corresponding applications will also be filed for other Group companies. Windrose Finest Travel GmbH with the luxury brand WINDROSE will continue its business.

The independent companies Euvia Travel GmbH and its travel shopping channel sonnenklar.TV as well as the franchise system of Touristik Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH (TVG) with its brands sonnenklar.TV Reisebüros, 5vorFlug Reisebüros and Flugbörse do not belong to the FTI GROUP.

After a lengthy and complex investor process, the entry of a consortium of investors was announced in April 2024. Since then, however, booking figures have fallen well short of expectations despite the positive news. In addition, numerous suppliers have insisted on advance payment. As a result, there was an increased need for liquidity, which could no longer be bridged until the closing of the investor process. The filing for insolvency has therefore become necessary for legal reasons.

Information for customers of the FTI GROUP

Supporting travelers affected by the consequences of the insolvency is now a top priority for the FTI GROUP. A support website has already been set up at www.fti-group.com/en/insolvency as well as a support hotline at +49 (0) 89 / 710 45 14 98. All relevant information can be accessed here and German- and English-speaking contact persons are available for individual questions. In addition to the full focus on customer support, the FTI GROUP will also keep its guests regularly informed together with the German Travel Security Fund (DRSF).

We are currently working hard to ensure that trips that have already started can be completed as planned. Trips that have not yet begun will probably no longer be possible or only partially possible from Tuesday, 4 June 2024. In cooperation with the (provisional) insolvency administrator yet to be appointed, a concept for the ongoing information of affected travelers and the operational implementation of the necessary measures will be developed in the coming days.

About the FTI GROUP With its numerous brands and subsidiaries, the FTI GROUP is the third largest tour operator in Europe. It includes FTI Touristik as well as the short-term tour operator 5vorFlug, the car rental broker Drive FTI, the destination management company Meeting Point International, which is active in over 40 locations worldwide, and the tour operator for promotional goods BigXtra. Under the umbrella of the hospitality company MP Hotels, the company bundles its hotel brands Labranda Hotels & Resorts and Design Plus Hotels, Kairaba Hotels & Resorts, Lemon & Soul Hotels, Club Sei and Managed by MP Hotels. TVG Touristik Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH combines the franchise systems with the brands sonnenklar.TV Reisebüro, 5vorFlug and Flugbörse. Around 10,000 partner agencies sell FTI products throughout Germany. The TV travel shopping channel sonnenklar.TV, an FTI GROUP partner, and the online B2B provider for accommodation Youtravel are also important sales channels. The consolidator FTI Ticketshop is responsible for the sale of scheduled flight tickets. In Austria, FTI Touristik is represented by a branch in Linz. The subsidiary FTI Touristik AG, based in Basel, represents the tour operator in Switzerland. The French tour operator FTI Voyages has been part of the FTI GROUP since 2012. With FTI Reizen, the group has also been active in the Netherlands since 2016. The seven service centres handle numerous bookings for the FTI GROUP and external customers. Headquartered in Munich, the Group employs over 11,000 people worldwide and generated consolidated sales of around € 4.1 billion in the 2022/23 financial year.

11 Top-rated Cooling Clothes That'll Help You Beat the Heat This Summer — From $15 at Amazon

They've won over one native Floridan who's used to temperatures reaching 95 degrees and up.

Kelsey’s writing has appeared in outlets like Condé Nast Traveler, TripSavvy, Edible Magazine, and TimeOut. Some of the most standout experiences in her travels include living in Tokyo, abseiling in Vanuatu, surfing in Costa Rica, and cycling through the Pyrenees mountains.

tui travel magazin

Travel + Leisure / Francesca Fasciglione

Outfits that are both comfortable and stylish to wear in extreme heat are hard to find. As a native Floridian and Orlando resident, I’m always on the lookout for smart cooling clothing that I can wear in the Sunshine State when temperatures reach scorcher levels (think: 95 degrees Fahrenheit and higher), and out on my trips as a travel writer. If you’re packing for hot locales, like a Caribbean cruise or a Mediterranean summer, opt for clothes that are breathable, quick-drying, and lightweight to wear (bonus points if they offer UPF sun protection ).

To find this trifecta of comfort, you have to read some labels and learn a little about different fabrics (nylon and polyester are renowned for their moisture-wicking properties, while linen is preferred for its lightweight construction). But perhaps the most important thing to remember is to pack light, as in bright colors closer to the color spectrum of white (i.e. tan, beige, creme, or taupe). When you’re outdoors in the sun, dark colors absorb more light and heat energy than lighter colors and will make you feel hotter faster. And, when possible, stash a mini portable fan in your bag so you can always catch a cool breeze.

From head to toe, these are the 11 best cooling clothes for summer travel. They'll keep you feeling fresh and comfortable, no matter how high temperatures soar this summer, and they're all available at Amazon.

BuiltCool Cooling Baseball Hat

Your first line of defense against the hot sun starts with your head. Usually, baseball caps sit snug to your head and act like an insulator, quickly leading to a sweaty head, but this innovative one features a unique water-absorbing fabric weave and a hollow core to store and spread water throughout the hat so you're always refreshed.

For extra protection for your face and shoulders, I prefer a wide-brim hat like this crushable visor from Amazon . It keeps your face out of direct sunlight while letting heat escape from your scalp. It’s also a great style for keeping hair from getting sweaty and smushed.

Big Dart Oversized Button-down Shirt

It might seem backward, but having handy layers for hot weather will help you feel more comfortable. A white button-down keeps the sun off your arms. It’s also useful when visiting locations where dress codes require covering your shoulders, like churches or temples. This button-down is lightweight and perfect for summer. The oversized cut allows for plenty of breathing room for a breeze. Wear this with shorts, pants, or over a dress.

Anrabess Sleeveless Crop Top Wide-leg Capri Pants Two-piece Set

Lightweight linen is a great fabric for hot weather because it’s breathable. Made of flax fibers, linen is a natural, ancient textile used for centuries, and is known for its durability. Linen’s greatest downfall, however, is its tendency to wrinkle, which can be a nuisance for travelers. To solve this problem, look for linen blends . For example, these pants are blended with rayon, and the addition of a synthetic blend helps them dry faster than if they were just linen alone. Plus, the breezy tank top and relaxed fit of the pants will keep you cool in the heat.

Magcomsen Quick-dry Hiking Shorts

A versatile pair of shorts should be in your bag for any warm-weather trip. In hot climates, a breathable, quick-dry fabric ensures you won’t stay damp in the event of a summer rain storm. I'm always reluctant to pull out the hotel iron or steamer in hot locations, so the fact that these are wrinkle-free and stocked with functional pockets makes them a great addition to a summer packing list. These shorts have also been praised for their comfort and fit, which is crucial for long travel days. Whether you're travels take you trekking through a rainforest or navigating the busy streets of Rome, these shorts will prove to be a hard-working addition to your suitcase.

Rbx Quick-dry Tank Dress

Dresses are one of my favorite items of clothing to wear in hot weather because they don’t constrict around my waist and they allow airflow around my legs. This loose-style, polyester-spandex blend dress is roomy and breezy. Plus, it has an adjustable, drawstring waistband and side pockets. If you’re traveling by carry-on only and want to bring just one dress, this one is multipurpose. Straight out of the bag, it makes a great piece to wear out on a boat deck for enjoying the breeze in nautical stripes.

Pro tip: I recommend wearing breathable, anti-chafe underwear or shorts underneath, and Amazon shoppers love these thigh-length options from Reamphy for their soft waistband and no-slip design.

MoFiz Cargo Capris With Pockets

Shorts and dresses aren't the only ways to stay cool. If pants are more your style (or they fit your itinerary better), opt for a breathable, loose-fitting pair like these cargo capris from MoFiz. They're made with the perfect blend of nylon, viscose, and spandex to ensure that they're lightweight, stretchy, moisture-wicking, and cool to the touch. And, the 13-hue color range has options to suit anyone's travel style.

Baleaf Short-sleeve Athletic T-shirt

An everyday T-shirt is a packing essential, but you don't want to wear something made with heavy, heat-retaining material when you're up against 90-plus-degree Fahrenheit temperatures. Thankfully, there are quick-drying options like this Baleaf athletic T-shirt. Available in eight classic, easy-to-match colors, the short-sleeve shirt boasts a four-way stretching fabric, flat seams to prevent chafing when you're on the move, and a longer back hem for extra coverage.

The brand is a popular choice for travelers, and you can also refresh your travel wardrobe with the Baleaf Cool-dry Tank Top or the Baleaf UPF 50+ Long-sleeve Sun Shirt .

Mission Cooling Neck Gaiter

Using the science of evaporative cooling, a cooling neck gaiter can provide all-day relief from the heat. With a major artery running through your neck, cooling your chest and neck down when you get hot is one of the quickest ways to feel more comfortable. This UPF 50+ version uses Mission's HydroActive Wet-to-Cool Technology to cool up to 30 degrees below average body temperature in under one minute, according to the brand. All you have to do is wet it with cold water, wring it out, and then wear it.

For something more fashionable, there's the Ergodyne Cooling Bandana , which can be worn like a headband or around your neck like a scarf. According to one shopper , who wore it on a trip to Egypt, "Seriously, it kept me cool all day long while I walked in the 115-degree (Fahrenheit) Egypt desert and it hasn't dried out, even after I returned days ago and hung it out to dry."

Willit Hooded UPF 50+ Swim Cover-up Dress

There’s no better way to keep cool in the heat than by finding the nearest body of water. But after your dip, you'll need something to protect yourself from the sun. Enter: Willit's Hooded Swim Cover-up Dress. It's enhanced with UPF 50+ sun protection and made with a lightweight fabric specially designed to pull moisture away from your skin, so you won't feel sweaty under its long sleeves. This is a great outfit for days where you might be out all day doing activities that take you from sea to land; like lounging at the beach and then going to lunch, or hiking to a waterfall.

Teva Original Universal Sandals

With over 3,500 five-star ratings, Teva’s original sandals are the perfect summer shoe that does it all and will last you more than one season. Summer sandals should have soft and cushioned soles. Thin, flat sandals will feel hotter on your feet against sunny pavement or cobblestone. Teva’s adjustable strap design also allows you to change the fit of the shoe, which comes in handy if your feet swell in the heat, or you’re hopping in and out of water. Get a pair in a neutral color, like Sand Dune so you can wear these with almost any outfit.

G4Free RFID-blocking Crossbody Sling Backpack With USB Charging Port

This sling bag isn't a piece of cooling clothing , per se, but when packing for a day out in the heat, I recommend keeping your bag small and compact. Large totes will create friction against your side as you walk, generating more heat. Backpacks will insulate against your back and trap sweat. This one has room for a water bottle and your own battery bank. It comes in a crisp, summery ivory color that could match with a lot of different outfits.

Scientists Release Largest Trove of Data on How Space Travel Affects the Human Body

A collection of 44 new studies, largely based on a short-duration tourist trip in 2021, provides insight into the health effects of traveling to space

Two astronauts in space with their hair standing up and the Earth behind them

More and more humans are traveling to space. Several missions in 2021 took private citizens on tourist flights. Last month, six people flew to the edge of Earth’s atmosphere and back. NASA plans to put astronauts back on the moon later this decade, and SpaceX recently tested a rocket it hopes will one day carry humans to Mars.

With even more ambitious crewed flights on the horizon, scientists want to better understand the effects that space’s stressors—such as exposure to radiation and a lack of gravity—have on the human body. Now, a newly released set of 44 papers and troves of data, called the Space Omics and Medical Atlas (SOMA), aims to do just that.

SOMA is the largest collection of data on aerospace medicine and space biology ever compiled. It dramatically expands the amount of information available on how the human body changes during spaceflight. And the first studies to come out of this project improve scientists’ understanding of how space travel affects human health.

“This will allow us to be better prepared when we’re sending humans into space for whatever reason,” Allen Liu , mechanical engineer at the University of Michigan who is not involved in the project, tells Adithi Ramakrishnan of the Associated Press (AP).

Much of the new atlas is based on data collected from the four members of the Inspiration4 mission , a space tourism flight that sent four civilians on a three-day trip to low-Earth orbit in September 2021. The findings suggest people on short-term flights experience some of the same health impacts that astronauts face on long-term trips to space.

“We don’t yet fully understand all of the risks” of long-duration space travel, Amy McGuire , a biomedical ethicist at Baylor College of Medicine who did not contribute to the work, says to Science ’s Ramin Skibba. “This is also why it is so important that early space tourists participate in research.”

Space travel poses a number of risks to health. Without Earth’s atmosphere and magnetic field to protect them, astronauts are exposed to space radiation , which can increase their risk for cancer and degenerative diseases. Fluid shifts into astronauts’ heads when they are experiencing weightlessness, which can contribute to vision problems , headaches and changes in the structure of the brain . The microgravity environment can also lead to a loss of bone density and atrophied muscles , prompting long-haul astronauts to adopt specific exercise regimens .

But on top of those known risks, the new research highlights other potential issues. One study published Tuesday in the journal Nature Communications found that mice exposed to a dose of radiation meant to simulate a round trip to Mars experienced kidney damage and dysfunction. Human travelers might need to be on dialysis on the way back from the Red Planet if they were not protected from this radiation, writes the Guardian ’s Ian Sample.

“It’s likely to be a serious issue,” Stephen Walsh , a co-author of the study and clinician scientist at University College London, tells the publication. “It’s very hard to see how that’s going to be okay.”

The health information from the Inspiration4 astronauts sheds light on how space travel can affect private citizens who have not extensively trained for it. The findings also highlight changes to cells and DNA that can occur during short trips to space.

Biomarkers that changed during the Inspiration4 mission returned to normal a few months after the trip, suggesting that space travel doesn’t pose a greater risk to civilians than it does for trained astronauts, Christopher Mason , a geneticist at Cornell University who helped put together the atlas, says to New Scientist ’s Clare Wilson.

The Inspiration4 research also suggests women may recover faster from space travel than men. Data from the mission’s two male and two female participants, along with data from 64 NASA astronauts, indicated that gene activity related to the immune system was more disrupted in male astronauts, per the Guardian . And men’s immune systems took longer to return to normal once back on Earth.

Taken together, the new papers could help researchers learn how to ameliorate the harms space travel can cause, Afshin Beheshti , a co-author of the work and a researcher with the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, says to the AP.

And the scientists say nothing in the data suggests humans should not go to space.

“There’s no showstopper,” Mason tells the Washington Post ’s Joel Achenbach. “There’s no reason we shouldn’t be able to safely get to Mars and back.”

Has anyone heard of TUI International Online University?

U.S.A. California

Published Sep 10, 2010

mr.hustle

So today I decided to call UNITEK COLLEGE which is a private college in Fremont CA to inquire about they're LVN to RN program and I asked them if they offer any of the prerequisite classes that are needed to apply to the program. They said no, but quickly referred me to this "online college" where I can take the required science classes and they will accept those. The college website is TUI International Online University, Accredited Online College Degrees, Distance Learning, Military Education Programs they are based out of cypress, california and are regionally accredited by the "Western Association of Schools and Colleges".

Now I know for a fact that Unitek College is accredited because they are on the BON website for California, my question is do you think TUIU.EDU is transferable to other private colleges?

If so this will really work out for me and I can apply to another private college near my home.

So if anyone has any experiences with this school or has heard anything about it. TELL ME!!!

tui is an offshoot of Touro College. (You can learn about the Touro colleges brick and mortar schools by going to their website) They have two schools with allied health programs: one in the San Jose area of Calif. and one in Henderson, NV (near Las Vegas) That much I do know. Touro recently started the distance program and much of their program is geared to helping students "CLEP" a lot of their lower division work to accelerate graduating.

I don't know how the program is viewed by other schools (ie if they are seen as a diploma mill or as a legit program.)

I would contact the schools into which you are thinking of transfering and ask them. Let us know what you find out.

I havent looked in to tui in detail but i know they are charging 250 dollars per unit. Im taking the microbiology class which is 4 units which will cost me 1000 and to me that's worth it be all the community colleges require preqs and they have waiting list.

I too am applying to unitek for the RN program and just need the microbiology. Tui is expensive but convenient and that comes at a price.

My Absolute Favorite Heat Protectant Is 77 Percent Off Today

Portrait of Ambar Pardilla

If there’s one thing I’ve learned while doing my own blowouts , it’s that a reliable heat protectant is key. True Botanicals’ Shine and Protect Hair Cream Oil is just that. It protects against potentially damaging blasts of blow-dryer heat, plus it smooths my hair to prevent Bride of Frankenstein frizz. Seriously, I love the stuff — with a few drops in the palm of my hand, I get shampoo-commercial shine . But at $52 a bottle, it isn’t cheap, which is why I was stunned to spot it going for the cheapest price I’ve ever seen today: $12 at Nordstrom Rack, or 77 percent off, to be exact (a discount exponentially better than the one the brand offers during its sitewide sales ). It’s a deal so good that the Strategist sales Slack channel was abuzz with the news. I suggest stocking up quick — there’s no way it doesn’t sell out before the end of the day.

True Botanicals Shine & Protect Hair Cream Oil

And a bath soak from the brand — which smells of a Northern California forest with jojoba-seed oil and pine-bark extract — is just $8 right now.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments , rolling luggage , pillows for side sleepers , natural anxiety remedies , and bath towels . We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.

Three reasons to choose quality assurance travel, family-owned and operated..

Our owners run the business as if it were their own, because it is their own! That’s why every detail is handled with care and an eye toward giving you the most enjoyable bus travel experience possible.

Bus Owners,NOT Bus Brokers.

There are lots of bus brokers out there who do not own their buses and/or will subcontract your charter reservation. So you not only end up with a bus company that you may never have heard of, but you could be paying a huge mark-up on the cost of your bus trip.

Beat any reasonable quote.

Along with the service and the bus coaches themselves, we guarantee you and your group will pay the lowest bus charter rate around. Have you received a quote from a Bay Area bus charter company that seems low or even too good to be true? Send it to us and we will beat it. Guaranteed.

What are Customers are saying about us

Quality Assurance Travel is absolutely the BEST! On December 27, all of our Southwest tickets were canceled and I had to find a way to get my entire hockey team down to Riverside California from San Jose for two mandatory hockey games. So, I considered looking into a motorcoach. Our driver was so professional, so kind, and even watched both of our hockey games. The bus was as clean and as comfortable as I could've prayed for!! I would recommend this company to anyone looking to rent a motorcoach, or a bus for any reason whatsoever.

Jennifer Lopez Is Making Summer Travel Plans amid Marriage Strain with Ben Affleck

The 'Atlas' star is planning next steps for her summer after canceling her concert tour, according to a source

Jennifer Lopez is planning her summer vacation!

The  Atlas  star, 54, has been making plans to travel, a source tells PEOPLE. Lopez is taking time this summer "to be with her children, family and close friends," Live Nation announced on May 31 when she canceled her planned concert tour amid what sources have called strain in her marriage to Ben Affleck,

Lopez has previously taken some epic summer vacations, both with friends and with Affleck.

In years past, the couple enjoyed trips to France and Italy over the summer, including during their 2022 honeymoon in Milan and Lake Como and a birthday trip to the celeb-favorite island of Capri .

Lopez has said she's "not a big vacation person" in general, but has spoken about her love for Italy. "When I finally went to spend a couple of summers in a row in the south of Italy, I really, really loved it," she shared in a 2023 interview with  Travel + Leisure .

She elaborated that her life has typically “always been work, work, work,” but her trips to Italy have changed her mindset. “I was like, 'Oh my God, is this what I’ve been missing my whole life,'" she joked.

The singer's favorite feature of the boot doesn't quite narrow down where she might be eyeing for a vacation this year, but it may hint at her accommodations.

“I just love being on the water, to be honest. I feel like the water is really something that calms me. I can actually sit still and stare at the ocean and at the sky,” she told T+L. “I like just being right there on the coast it's beautiful and eating outside and enjoying the fresh air.”

In 2021, Lopez and Affleck celebrated her 52nd birthday on a yacht off the Amalfi Coast and docked at St. Tropez, another favorite haunt of A-listers in the summer.

"They are having a beautiful trip," a source told PEOPLE at the time.

While Affleck and Lopez's current marriage troubles are shaping their vacation plans, the stars have remained friendly.

The singer posted a heartfelt message to her husband on Father's Day on June 16, calling him "our hero."

The actor shares children Violet , 18, and  Seraphina , 15, and Samuel, 12, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52; and is stepdad to Lopez's 16-year-old twins,  Max and Emme , whom she shares with ex  Marc Anthony .

They recently attended a graduation party for Samuel alongside Garner at a rental home in Brentwood, Calif. and wore their wedding rings at the event.

The pair are quietly trying to sell the $61 million Beverly Hills home they bought together in 2023 . Lopez has been living at the house while Affleck is staying at a rental home  a few miles away, according to sources, but they "see each other every few days," a source said.
