New Fall Shows Added in the US, Canada and Mexico

Depeche mode’s first tour in over five years kicks off march 23, 2023 in sacramento, ca.

Following the rapturous reception to their new single “Ghosts Again,”  Depeche Mode  have added a new Fall leg of North American tour dates to the Memento Mori Tour, which will support Memento Mori, their forthcoming studio album due out March 24. With the addition of these 29 new shows, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2020 inductees will now set out on a colossal 75-date tour — their 19th tour and their first in over five years.

The Live Nation-presented tour begins March 23 with a limited North American run featuring stops at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Chicago’s United Center, and Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena. The band will then embark on their European stadium tour on May 16, with noted stops including the Stade de France in Paris, Berlin’s Olympic Stadium, Milan’s San Siro Stadium, and London’s Twickenham Stadium.

Following the end of the European summer run, the newly added tour dates bring the band back to North America in the Fall, with the tour stopping in Mexico City at Foro Sol before returning to the US and Canada. Newly announced tour stops include Austin’s Moody Center, Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, additional New York City shows at Madison Square Garden and Barclays Center, Seattle’s Climate Pledge Arena and more, and concluding with a multi-night run in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum and Crypto.com Arena.

Pre-sales will kick off with a Fan Pre-sale on Tuesday, February 21, with the general on sale beginning Friday, February 24 at 10am local time. For further information on the tour routing and ticket on-sale dates, please visit  depechemode.com . The full listing of dates, cities and venues is also below. On the Memento Mori Tour, the band will once again be partnering with luxury watchmaker Hublot to support charity endeavors tied to the tour.

Reception to the Memento Mori tour has been overwhelming with shows quickly selling out across Europe and North America, and over 1.5 million tickets already sold for the initial 46 shows. The tour is on track to be one of Depeche Mode’s largest to date and is also well on its way to being one of the largest worldwide tours of 2023. The tour will feature Depeche Mode favorites and rarities, alongside new songs from Memento Mori, including the new single ”Ghosts Again,” which has been heralded as “a melancholic and joyful ode” (Vulture), “hypnotic” (Rolling Stone), and “a gorgeous, haunting song” (Revolver). The beautifully stark and cinematic Anton Corbijn-directed video for “Ghosts Again” released on February 9th can be viewed at  https://depechemode.lnk.to/GhostsAgain .

Having sold more than 100 million records and played to more than 35 million fans worldwide, Depeche Mode remains an ever-evolving and singularly influential musical force. An indelible inspiration to fans, critics and artists alike, Depeche Mode continues to forge ahead, with the Memento Mori album and tour representing the opening of the newest chapter of a peerless and ongoing legacy.

Depeche Mode Expand 2023 North American Tour

By Jazz Monroe

Depeche Modes Martin Gore and Dave Gahan

Depeche Mode have added a new haul of shows to the North American tour that begins next month. The extra dates kick off in Mexico in late summer and run through to mid-December, with stops in most major cities on the coasts and a few in between. See their full tour schedule below.

The tour, which includes a spot at Primavera 2023 , promotes new album Memento Mori , out March 24 via Columbia . It is the band’s first album in five years, and the first since the death last year of founding member Andy “Fletch” Fletcher. “Fletch would have loved this album,” Dave Gahan said in press materials. “We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.” Memento Mori follows Depeche Mode’s 2017 LP, Spirit . A single from the record, “ Ghosts Again ,” is out now.

Depeche Mode announce support acts for North American tour

Depeche Mode have announced the support acts for their North American tour.

The band have revealed that Kelly Lee Owens, Young Fathers and DIIV will be joining them for all 35 shows when the tour kicks off with three dates in Mexico on September 21, 23 and 25, before moving on to Austin, Texas.

The tour will also visit cities including Miami, Brooklyn, Cleveland, Vancouver, Seattle, and San Diego.

They will wrap up with four dates in Los Angeles, California in December.

The band – which is comprised of Martin Gore and Dave Gahan – has previously shared its admiration for Scottish group Young Fathers.

Gore told NME: "I’ve been having to listen to a lot of stuff for remixes and support artists lately. A band I thought were very unique were Young Fathers. I’ve been listening to their albums and watching live performances, and they’re just so different to everything else."

And, they personally chose Owens for the support slot.

Gore added: "We were given a massive list of potential support acts; some of them I knew, like Kelly Lee Owens who I actually really liked, and we decided she’d be a perfect fit. What she does is very atmospheric and it never seems like there’s only one person playing – she really puts her soul into it.”

Depeche Mode Announce New Album and 2023 World Tour

depeche mode 2023 PROMO 2, Anton Corbijn

Earlier this year,  Depeche Mode  were rocked by the sudden death of founding keyboardist Andy "Fletch" Fletcher, who passed in May at age 60. In his honor, surviving band members Dave Gahan and Martin Gore will continue onward, and today (October 4th) they've announced two major reasons for Depeche Mode fans to be excited.

One is a new album, titled M emento Mori , which is set to arrive in spring 2023. It's the new-wave band's 15th studio album overall and first since 2017's Spirit , and the band said that it will reflect the downcast vibes of the pandemic's onset in early 2020.

"We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time," Gore said in a press statement. "After Fletch's passing, we decided to continue as we're sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning."

"Fletch would have loved this album," Gahan added. "We're really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can't wait to present it to you live at the shows next year."

That's the second piece of big news. To pair with Memento Mori 's release next year, Depeche Mode will embark on a massive world tour that begins in North America in March 2023 and wraps up in Oslo, Norway, in August. It'll be the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee's first live shows in five years, and the kickoff goes down in Sacramento on March 23rd.

We'll have to wait a little longer to hear a single from Memento Mori , but for now, you can see the full list of Depeche Mode tour dates below. More information on ticket on-sale dates is available here .

depeche-mode

One of the most influential bands of the 1980s is coming to town this week.

Depeche Mode is still going, more than 40 years since forming near England, and they're bringing their latest tour to Vancouver on Nov. 24, supporting their new album Memento Mori. The album was recorded after the sudden death of founding member Andy Fletcher last year.

The critically acclaimed group behind songs like "Personal Jesus," "Enjoy the Silence," and, more recently "Wrong" will be at Rogers Arena along with opening act Young Fathers .

It will be their last Canadian date on the tour before they head south for a series of shows through the western U.S.

Doors for the show will open at 7:30 p.m.

Some tickets are still available for the show, which will include Rogers Arena's upper bowl. The vast majority of tickets available on Ticketmaster are verified resellers, with a variety of prices; the cheapest are in the mid $120 range, but there's lots of variation.

On the other end of the spectrum, lots of front row tickets are available at a premium thanks to verified resellers posting tickets for around $1,400.

The only tickets that are available at their original cost are near the stage and going for nearly $300.

A reminder, screenshots of tickets aren't accepted; the moving barcode is needed.

Transportation

Barring unscheduled issues, transit to downtown Vancouver should be running normally Nov. 24. No additional TransLink service is expected.

Hullo has not announced any extra ferry sailings to/from Nanaimo for Vancouver Island fans.

The band hasn't posted anything about Vancouver-specific merch on social media (they're rather quiet on things like Instagram).

Restrictions

A few things aren't allowed in Rogers Arena for the show. Notably, some bags won't be permitted; all bags need to be under 35.5 cm by 35.5 cm by 15.2 cm. For reference, 35.5 cm is just a bit over 13 inches.

Rogers Arena is also a smoke-free zone, as far as cigarettes and cannabis are concerned. The band may have smoke machines.

Other  common sense items  are to be left at home as well, like skateboards, selfie sticks, and outside food and drinks.

Cashless Venue

Rogers Arena has gone cashless.

The Memento Mori Tour

Depeche Mode is bringing their Memento Mori Tour to Chase Center on Dec. 3, 2023! Following the rapturous reception to their new single “Ghosts Again,"  Depeche Mode  have added a new Fall leg of North American tour dates to the Memento Mori Tour, which will support Memento Mori, their studio album out March 24. With the addition of these 29 new shows, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2020 inductees will now set out on a colossal 75-date tour — their 19th tour and their first in over five years. Reception to the Memento Mori tour has been overwhelming with shows quickly selling out across Europe and North America.

Australia concerts in 2024: here’s a list of shows and tours coming up

Artists touring Down Under in 2024 include Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Hozier, Laufey, aespa, IVE and more

Will Champion, Chris Martin and Guy Berryman of Coldplay performing in 2023, photo by Jordi Vidal/Redferns via Getty Images

Fresh out of a pandemic, Australia’s 2023 touring calendar was one of the busiest in recent memory, as artists of all stripes took centrestage everywhere from stadium shows to intimate local gigs. With a starry schedule that included the likes of Post Malone , Red Hot Chili Peppers , and Mötley Crüe , it’ll be tricky for 2024’s schedule to outdo its predecessor – and yet, thanks to the likes of Taylor Swift , Blink-182 and Pink , plus Coldplay, Pearl Jam and SZA, it’s poised to do just that.

From debut headline shows for breakout artists to bustling festival sideshow programs, there’s something for everyone to enjoy as a stellar batch of musicians make their way Down Under in 2024. Read on for NME’s roundup of all the biggest concerts and tours coming to Australia this year.

Here are the concerts and tours coming to Australia in 2024:

James Taylor: An Evening with James Taylor & His All-Star Band When: April 12 – April 28 Find tickets and more info here

If there was ever a festival made for James Taylor & His All-Star Band at this juncture of his 50-year career, it’s Day on the Green . The singer will perform at wineries in Queensland (Sirromet Wines in Mount Cotton), and New South Wales (Bimbadgen in the Hunter Valley, and Centennial Vineyards in Bowral) across April 2024. Taylor will be accompanied by Aussie pair Josh Pyke and Ella Hooper .

Taylor is also playing his own headline shows. After selling out dates in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, new shows have been added in those cities. A Live Nation pre-sale begins February 9 while general on-sale starts February 12.

Chase & Status When: April 19 – April 28 Find more info and ticket waitlists here

After a new mixtape, charting singles and landmark Boiler Room set, drum’n’bass lifers Chase & Status celebrated a huge 2023. This year, the British duo will bring the party to Australia and New Zealand on a sold-out co-headlining tour with Australia’s very own Luude. They’re notably playing RAC Arena in Perth, on top of Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane.

Recommended

SZA When: April 19 – May 2 Find tickets and more info here

Fresh off winning three Grammys, SZA has announced a tour of Australia and New Zealand this April. The ‘Kill Bill’ singer will be performing two shows in New Zealand and eight across Australia, with shows confirmed for Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Beth Orton When: April 24 – April 30 Find tickets and more info

Initially slated to appear in Australia in November 2023, Beth Orton  rescheduled her Australian tour to April 2024 and added an extra show in Tasmania. The folk musician will now embark on a four-date run with performances in Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney and Brisbane from April 24 to April 30, with tickets for the original cities still valid for the rescheduled dates. Tickets for the additional date at Hobart’s Odeon Theatre are accessible here.

Nick Cave (solo) When: April 25 – May 7 Find tickets and more info

The legendary Nick Cave embarks on a solo tour of Australia (read: without the Bad Seeds) this April, playing two shows in Melbourne and five in Sydney. Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood will be on bass duties for these shows at Plenary Melbourne and State Theatre Sydney, which are all sold out.

The Dandy Warhols When: April 25 – May 1 Find tickets and more info

The Dandy Warhols will make their return to Australia in April 2024 armed with their new album ‘Rockmaker’. So far, they’ve scheduled dates in Brisbane , Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. If you missed them when they toured down under with Hoodoo Gurus in 2022, this is your chance. Find tickets here.

Elephant Gym When: April 26 – April 28 Find more info and tickets here

Elephant Gym isn’t the result of a random band name generator; “elephant” refers to the Taiwanese math rock band’s bass-led grooves, while “Gym” denotes the “agility” of their rhythm. The trio will perform their technical and idiosyncratic instrumentals at three shows on the Australian east coast for the first time this April, supporting sleepmakeswaves.

6LACK: Since I Have A Lover Tour When: April 26 – May 1 Find tickets and more info

R&B favourite 6LACK (pronounced ‘black’) will return to Australia in April to tour his new album, ‘Since I Have A Lover’. The four-date jaunt will take him to Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

Niall Horan: ‘The Show’ Live On Tour When: April 26 – May 4 Find tickets and more info

Niall Horan will take ‘The Show’ on the road down under in 2024. The ex- One Direction member’s world tour comes in support of his third solo album ‘The Show’ , out June 9. For the Australian leg, he’ll perform arena shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Groovin The Moo sideshows When: April 29 – May 11 Find tickets and more info

Sadly, Groovin The Moo is no longer going ahead this year – but many of the artists who would have played the touring festival will still be forging ahead with their own Australian headline shows. Singer-songwriter Claire Rosinkranz, Wu-Tang Clan legend GZA (performing a set dubbed ‘Liquid Swords Live’) and Stephen Sanchez will all perform headline shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

Toronto indie rockers The Beaches will also perform their own dates, playing shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in May. Find more information and tickets for all sideshows here .
