IMAGINE DRAGONS

Imagine Dragons was formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2008, and consists of lead singer Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee and drummer Daniel Platzman.

The band released their debut studio album, Night Visions , in 2012. The album’s second single, Radioactive , reached No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs, Billboard Rock Songs, and sold more than 14 million singles in the United States, entering the top 3 of the most selling songs digitally ever.

The band’s second studio album, Smoke + Mirrors , was released in 2015, and reached number one in the US, Canada and the UK. This was followed by their third studio album, Evolve , released in 2017, which resulted in three chart-topping singles, Believer , Thunder , and Whatever It Takes .

Their fourth studio album, Origins , released in 2018, featured the single Natural , which became their fifth song to top the Hot Rock Songs chart. The band released their fifth studio album, Mercury – Act 1 , on September 3, 2021, and its follow-up, Mercury – Act 2 , on July 1, 2022.

Imagine Dragons won three American Music Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, one Grammy Award, one MTV Video Music Award, and one World Music Award. To date, the band sold more than 75 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling music artists.

Following the announce of their ‘Mercury’ world tour 2022 and in celebration of the release of their latest album , Mercury – Act 1, Imagine Dragons have announced an exclusive U.K. show in Milton Keynes on the 2022 world tour.

The show will be taking place on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Stadium MK, in Milton Keynes before continuing onto Europe, concluding the world tour in Paris. Tickets for the U.K. show go on general sale Friday, 19 November at 9am via LiveNation . Tickets for European dates are already on general sale.

In celebration of the release of their latest album, Mercury – Act 1, Imagine Dragons announce their Mercury World Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 2022 tour kicks off on May 28 for the first two nights at Letnany Airport in Prague, Czech Republic making stops in stadiums and green fields across Europe in Moscow, U.K and Berlin before wrapping up in Mönchengladbach, Germany at Sparkassen Park on July 14.

The 2022 summer run will also see the Las Vegas outfit top the bills at some of Europe’s most iconic festivals including I-Days, Rock Werchter, Pinkpop and Lollapalooza Paris. Full tour dates and details are below.

Imagine Dragons Add Summer Dates to Mercury World Tour 

Imagine Dragons announced a run of U.S. shows for the summer of 2022, extending their Mercury World Tour into August and September after previously scheduled shows in Canada and Europe/UK that begin in April. The shows follow an earlier run of U.S. shows that just completed in March.

The newly scheduled Imagine Dragons tour dates begin in August with a stop at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Utah. They run through until a September 15 performance at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. In between, the band has plans for shows at Jiffy Lube Live in Virginia, Boston’s Fenway Park, Dick’s Sporting goods Park in Colorado, and a hometown show at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Tickets for the new Imagine Dragons dates are on sale this week, available to then general public beginning Friday, April 1. There is a presale open to Verizon Up members through a new partnership between promoter Live Nation and the cellular carrier that opens Monday. Other presale opportunities are likely throughout the week.

Imagine Dragons Announce Mercury Tour: See The Dates

Imagine Dragons are hitting the road in support of their new album Mercury—Act 1 . On Tuesday (September 7), the band announced the North American Mercury Tour , which will kick off On February 6, 2022 in Miami, Florida and see Dan Reynolds and company tour the continent before ending in Phoenix, Arizona on March 14, 2022.

Though the trek is currently 17 stops long, Imagine Dragons promised there are "more dates to come" in an Instagram announcement. Tickets are available now to American Express cardholders and will go on sale to the general public on Friday (September 10) at 10am local time.

Multi-platinum GRAMMY award-winning rock band Imagine Dragons have announced 20 new shows on their massive Mercury World Tour.  Produced by Live Nation, the summer North American tour celebrates the release of their latest album,  Mercury – Act 1  (KIDinaKORNER/Interscope) and will make a stop in their hometown of Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. Joined by special guests Macklemore and Kings Elliot, this tour will mark the band’s biggest North American shows of their career to date.

General tickets go on sale starting Friday, April 1 at 10 a.m. PT on  Ticketmaster.com . Allegiant Stadium and Live Nation customers will have access to a presale beginning Thursday, March 31 at 10 a.m. PT.

Skyscrapers; Europe's Tallest: Mercury City Tower, Moscow, Russia

Mercury City Tower, located in the new business district of Moscow, Russia just pushed London’s Shard of the throne taking its place as the tallest skyscraper in the Europe. Interesting fact is that Mercury City Tower was actually taller skyscraper than Shard at the time of announcement of new Europe’s tallest located in London. Now that Moscow’s tallest topped out, it’s official and the tittle goes to Russia. Mercury City Tower is 339m (1,112ft) tall with 75 floors while the Shard is 309m (1,014ft) tall with 73 floors. Design work is done by the Frank Williams and partners with M.M. Posokhin and G.L. Sirota. New skyscraper will be brand new headquarters for Mercury Development Company. “Moscow is going through an architectural renaissance. The current transformation has to be credited to the city’s Mayer, Yuri Luzhkov, who has a vast knowledge of international architecture as well as a great vision and love for the city of Moscow. The city has a “built architectural form” that is rich in complexity and scale. As a result the design of Mercury City Tower ties into the city’s fabric and has a strong reference to Russian Constructivism. This Constructivism gives the tower a strong vertical thrust similar to the one found in New York’s Chrysler Building. The comparative height to the top of the spire of Mercury City Tower is 200 feet higher than the famed Chrysler landmark. The new tower is sheathed in a light, warm silver glass that will act as a background for Moscow’s new City Hall, which has a rich red glass roofscape. This new City Hall sits adjacent to Mercury City Tower. Frank Williams has opened an architectural office in Moscow with the renowned Moscow Architect Michael Posokhin. “Though blessed with an abundance of natural energy resources, it is important to conserve energy in a country like Russia,” he says. Mercury City Tower is the first structure in Moscow to be recognized as a “green building,” which means that is meets rigorous international standards. “I’m always trying to look for the special, unique feeling of each site, and incorporate it in my design,” he says. He emphasizes that the best work an architect can do is to create a building reflective of its true surroundings.”

Russia's Mercury City tower cuts the Shard down to size

A towering beacon of pink mirrored glass has overtaken the Shard to become the tallest building in Europe. Moscow's Mercury City tower , which topped out on Thursday, now rises to 339m, making it 29m taller than London's own crystalline pyramid.

The building joins a motley cluster in the emerging Moscow International Business Centre, a $12bn complex initiated by former mayor Yuri Luzhkov as a playground for rival oligarchs to demonstrate their penile might.

This latest pink totem is the brainchild of retail billionaire Igor Kesaev , who said it "demonstrates that all of Russia is on a level with countries of the eurozone, continuing its planned development and moving forward".

Designed by the late American architect Frank Williams , working with Moscow's Mikhail Posokhin, the $1bn tower stands as a tapering mountain of trapezoidal blocks. If you screw your eyes up, its faceted steps recall early expressionist architecture and the crystalline forms of Hugh Ferris's New York setback diagrams – only here interpreted with a clumsy commercial bulk.

The building was originally to be clad in a shimmering sheath of silver glass, to act as a mirrored backdrop to the reddish Moscow City Hall . Since that scheme was axed, Mercury City has taken on a bronzed hue, a kind of architectural perma-tan, as if forever bathed in a sunset glow.

The architect says the project "has a strong reference to Russian constructivism, [which] gives the tower a strong vertical thrust similar to the one found in New York's Chrysler building ".

The comparison is tenuous to say the least, but Kesaev confirmed it was his chief inspiration: "When I first came to New York in 1991 and saw the Chrysler building and the Citibank one , I thought that [this] kind of skyscraper should appear in Moscow," he said at a press conference on Thursday. "Now, 20 years later, this dream has come true."

In January, Mercury City overtook the neighbouring City of Capitals development – two topsy-turvy stacks of mirrored cubes climbing to 300m – which in turn had recently trumped the Imperia tower , a sludgy green box from which various elliptical shapes have been extended. Together they form a strange gaggle of maladjusted outcasts standing on the western edge of the city: an estranged monument to Luzhkov's lust for iconic buildings.

Mercury City will not enjoy its title for long: it will soon be overtaken by Federation tower , which takes the form of two triangular blocks connected by sky bridges and penetrated by a great spike, and will soar to 506m. Others' ambitions have not been quite so lucky. Norman Foster 's planned 612m skyscraper for Chalva Tchigirinski was swiftly credit-crunched, while Sergei Polonsky, behind the Federation tower, lost his projects to banks after they were pledged as loan collateral.
