Sightseeing might become a hindrance, especially if you are planning to spend time at any of the gardens here. Even though the temperature doesn’t rise beyond 36°C, it is advisable to keep hydrated and use sunscreen when going out in the daytime.

Monsoon Season

The monsoon season in Bangalore is from June to September, when the city is given a whole new green makeover, post the rains. The rainy season starts with mild showers, later turning into thunderstorms as the season progresses. The months receiving the highest rainfall in Bangalore are August and September. Tourists do visit the city during this time as well, but the footfall is pretty low considering the rains might play spoilsport with any sightseeing plans. Don’t forget to pack an umbrella and a raincoat for uninterrupted enjoyment while out.

How To Reach Bangalore?

Bangalore is a very well connected city, be it to most places across India, and via a host of commuting options. For those looking to reach Bangalore by air, the Kempegowda Bangalore International Airport is a hotbed of activity, with flights departing and arriving at regular intervals from all over India as well as the world. Once you have landed at the airport, for starting your Bangalore trip packages , it is pretty easy to get prepaid and postpaid taxis to take you to your destination. There is also a bus service at the airport to take travelers to most parts of the city.

If you are looking to reach Bangalore via railways, then too there are several options. The main railway stations of Bangalore are Bengaluru City Junction Railway Station, Whitefield Railway Station, Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station and the Belandur Road among others. These railway stations connect Bangalore to various destinations across the country, from parts of South India to North India as well.

And if you are wondering how to reach Bangalore by road, then one of the best things to do is to take a bus. There are plenty of national highways that connect Bangalore to several parts of the country. The bus services of South India are very efficiently run, and there are buses available here to get to Mumbai, Delhi and Goa among other major cities of India. You can also drive over to Bangalore on your own, for a fun road trip, if you do not purchase a Bangalore package.

Bangalore Tour Packages FAQs

Q. How can I commute locally in Bangalore? A. The Kempegowda Bus Station close to the Bangalore City Railway Station hosts majority of the city’s bus network. Majority of the buses from platform 17 go past MG Road. Aside from regular buses, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) runs express bus service called Pushpak on a number of pre-determined routes, with P109 terminating at Whitefield close to the famous Sai Baba ashram. The other important bus stands of the city comprise City Market Bus Stand in Kalasipalayam close to the railway station, and Shivaji Nagar which lies to the northeast of Cubbon Park. Namma Metro is another mode of local transport you can rely on to cover both short and longer distances. The Purple Line via Bangalore City Railway Station and Majestic Station, for instance, connects major train and bus stations with stations to the east like MG Road, Cubbon Park and Indiranagar. The Green Line goes south through Yeshwantpur ahead of joining the Purple Line at Majestic and then proceeding to Chickpete, Lalbagh and KR Market. These trains run every 15 minutes between 06:00 am and 10:00 pm with tickets ranging between INR 10 to 60. You can use single-use tokens or Varshik smart cards. Q. Which is the best time to visit Bangalore? A. Bangalore is a year-round destination, though the summer months between March and May and then the winters between November and February are the best to visit the city. Winters in Bangalore can be quite cold with the minimum temperature even dropping to 10 degrees at night and the days being pleasant to cool at 29 degree Celsius. Winter visits to Bangalore are popular for its Christmas and New Year celebrations when shopping and eating out are some of best side activities you can pursue. Bangalore is also quite popular in the summer months with the minimum hovering around 20 degree Celsius and the maximum touching up to 38 degree Celsius. When the days get too hot, a sudden rain shower comes down and cools the city. Summers are fun to go sightseeing in the city, enjoy visiting its many shaded parks and botanical gardens and generally browse around the city. Q. Which are Bangalore’s most popular attractions? A. Apart from Cubbon Park in the heart of the city skirting several of its iconic landmark such as the State Central Library and Vidhan Soudha, the state legislative assembly, you can plan a visit to the Bull Temple, a 16th century Dravidian style structure built by the Vijayanagara Chieftain, Kempe Gowda. The temple houses a monolith Nandi, Lord Shiva’s bull. Among other major attractions of Bangalore, you can visit the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, Nandi Hills, Janapada Loka Folk Arts Museum, Tipu’s Summer Palace, the National Gallery of Modern Art to view some exclusive Raja Ravi Varma portraits among its host of cultural and art venues scattered across the city. Q. Which are some of the best cafes in Bangalore? A. Bangalore has many different cafes to satisfy the taste and moods of all visitors. The most popular ones include Glen’s Bakehouse, Matteo Coffea, Café Down The Alley, The White Room Coffee & Kitchen, Mudpipe Café, etc. Q. Name some of the best hotels in Bangalore A. The Leela Palace, The ITC Gardenia, The Taj West End, and The Royal Orchid are some of the best hotels in Bangalore. For a detailed list of the best hotels in Bangalore, please visit Yatra. Q. What is Cubbon Park in Bangalore famous for? A. The park is the Garden City’s most iconic landmark, lying in the heart of the city’s business district. Cubbon Park is a 120 hectare beautifully landscaped garden which is very popular with the locals as it is with the tourists to the city, seeking respite from its insanely crowded streets. The garden includes the red, Gothic State Central Library, with the park getting extremely busy on Sundays when it is closed to traffic, metamorphosing into a venue for marathons, yoga classes, musical concerts, farmer’s markets, among other cultural and literary events. Skirting the park is the massive, neo-Dravidian Vidhan Soudha and the neoclassical Attara Kacheri, an 1864 structure housing the High Court. The park is marked by bamboo groves, letting you enter from the western end of MG Road. Q. What are the popular places to go shopping in Bangalore? A. For any kind of shopping, the area in and around MG Road is your mecca. The place is home to an array of shops that comprise top international labels, designer wear, and local fashion. It serves as a great place to buy traditional ensemble whether it is a saree, lehenga and pair them with your preferred accessories. But every shopping addict to Bangalore must round up some of its popular malls such as UB City, Garuda Mall and Bangalore Central. To pick up pieces of one-off jewellery or some street fashion, visit Dickenson Road and Commercial Street. Those keen on flea market kind of shopping, should dash to Kitsch Mandi and Soul Santhe which are a hub for pretty trinkets, antiques, home decor items and some really cute souvenirs. If you are keen on buying traditional pieces, you could consider Chickpete and Raja Market which though crowded are among Bangalore’s most traditional and atmospheric bazaars.

  • Q. Can I make changes to my domestic holiday package? A. Yes, you can make changes to tour packages. Most online travel agents offer a wide range of customisable tour packages where you may choose transport, stay and sightseeing according to your taste and comfort. However, the itinerary of a group tour or a pre-set holiday package cannot be altered. Such itineraries are designed with fixed travel dates, and all services are on a sharing basis. Q. Do I need to book my flight tickets separately? A. No, you do not have to book the flights separately while making a booking of India tour packages. Your flight is a part of the itinerary, and it will be included in the cost of the package. However, some packages featured on the website might not include airfare. The price listing will either read 'airfare/flight optional' or 'airfare/flight inclusive'. With airfare/flight optional packages, you can decide if you want to take a package with or without airfare. Q. Can I place a tour booking on hold? A. Yes, hold a booking with most OTA by making certain advance payment. Based on the nature of the service and the time left for the service, book holiday packages in India by paying a brief amount through the website and pay the balance amount in the next 24/48 hours. Q. Does the tour packages include hotels with good ratings? A. Most OTAs provide and recommend hotels based on their reviews and ratings put on the internet by customers and their previous customer experience. However, many companies do not guarantee hotels quality of service and their star ratings. Hence, it is strongly recommended that you cross-check your travel aggregator website and go through the reviews and photographs of the hotels before booking India tour packages. Q. How do I know if my booking is confirmed? A. For all India tour packages bookings made online, you will receive a confirmation message via email. This email will include your booking/reservation number and travel details. You can also check your booking status online on the website by filling the details of your booking reference number and your email id or mobile number.

Bangalore City Tour – 7 Places to Visit On A One Day Trip

June 12, 2018 by madur

Bangalore is not only one of India’s most progressive cities but is also a city with a rich history. A Bangalore city tour can not only be fun but also enriching. Bangalore was a part of many south Indian kingdoms and its history dates back to the Iron ages.

The city is not small and has a lot to see and experience. Thus, if you have only one day in this city, it becomes important to prioritize what you want to see. Here are some of the iconic structures in Bangalore that you should not miss out on.

Bangalore City Tour – Top 7 Places

1. gavi gangadhareshwara temple.

Bangalore city tour, Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple, Bangalore. Source Wiki

Even if you are not a religious person this place must be on your Bangalore city tour itinerary. This rock cut temple dedicated to Lord Shiva was built in the 16 th century by Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bangalore. The temple is one of the oldest in Bangalore and proof of how advanced Indian architecture was in the 16 th century.

The main attractions of the temple compound are 4 granite pillars in the courtyard. Two of these pillars support giant discs depicting the sun and the moon while the other two support statues of the Nandi Bull. There are a number of other monolithic sculptures in the compound as well. On Makar Sankranti, the evening sunlight passes between the horns of the Nandi bulls and falls on the linga within the cave.
