IL VOLO ANNOUNCES NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH PERFORMANCE AT THE FOX THEATRE MARCH 31, 2022

(DETROIT – November 5, 2021) – Today, superstar Italian trio IL VOLO releases their highly anticipated new album Il Volo Sings Morricone (Sony Masterworks), available everywhere now . Endorsed by Ennio Morricone’s family, Il Volo Sings Morricone is a dedication to the beloved Maestro and an exciting journey through the art and music of one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. In support of the new album, the trio will head out on the road once again on a 25-date North American tour, including a stop at the Fox Theatre on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, the TV broadcast special, Il Volo: Tribute to Ennio Morricone, will make its premiere on PBS stations nationwide beginning November 27. Tickets (starting at $29.50) go on sale Friday, November 12 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at 313Presents.com , LiveNation.com , Ticketmaster.com or the XFINITY Box Office at Little Caesars Arena. The tour event organizer is requiring all attendees of this event to have received a negative COVID-19 test (72 hours before the event) prior to entering the venue OR be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least two weeks after final dose). Il Volo Sings Morricone is comprised of 14 songs that recall the Maestro’s legendary melodies from “The Ecstasy of Gold” (from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly), featuring new lyrics written specifically for the trio by Ennio Morricone’s son, Andrea Morricone to “Your Love” (from Once Upon a Time in the West). Another highlight is “I colori dell’amore” (“The Colors of Love”), an unreleased track composed by Andrea for the trio, which was unexpectedly performed live for the first time at The Arena di Verona on June 5, 2021. Rounding out the album is “E più ti penso” ("The More I Think of You"), a medley of Ennio Morricone’s scores from the films Once Upon a Time in America and Malèna, a nod to the trio’s live performance of the song with the Maestro at Piazza del Popolo in Rome in 2011. It also features three artist collaborations: violinist David Garrett on “La Califfa” (“The Lady Caliph”), HAUSER from 2CELLOS on “Se” (“If”) and trumpet player Chris Botti on “Come Sail Away.”  

In celebration of their new album, Il Volo will also embark on a world tour, which kicks off in North America on March 4, 2022 in Canada and continues to the United States beginning March 11.  The 25-date North American tour will include stops at iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York, Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco. 

On Il Volo Sings Morricone, audiences can expect to delight in the unforgettable melodies by the celebrated conductor, musician, and composer of some of the greatest film soundtracks in the history of international cinema together with the trio’s unique voices.

Il Vovo (formed in 2010) is the award-winning Italian operatic pop trio of Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Inoble, hailing from Sanremo, Italy.

In 2009 the three members of Il Vovo, tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, and baritone Gianluca Ginoble, all competed as teenagers in the televised singing competition “Ti lassie luna canzone”. Ginolble’s version of the Andrea Bocelli song “Il mare calm della sera” went on to win the first episode, after which the director of the show Roberto Cenci had the idea of putting the three singers together. Adopting a similar format to the infamous Three Tenors, the group performed for the first time with the single “O sole mil” on the fourth episode of the show. Singer-songwriter and music producer Rony Renis subsequently heard the performance and went to great lengths to sign them to Geffen Records.

Originally named “I Tre Tenorini”, the group contributed to the 2010 charity single “We Are the World 25 for Haiti”, a rendition of the 1985 hit “We Are the World”. Towards the tail-end of 2010 the name was changed to Il Vovo and the group recorded their debut, self-titled album in the Abbey Road Studios in London, England, which featured the national and international numbers “Il mondo”, “Un amore cosí grande”, and Charlie Chaplin’s “Smile”. Issued by Geffen Records in November 2010 the record peaked at No. 6 on the Italian Albums Chart, representing their mainstream breakthrough. The U.S. release of the album was promoted by appearances on “Good Morning America”, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, and “The Tonight Show”, and charted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200.

Il Vovo’s sophomore album “We Are Love” failed to achieve the success of its debut, peaking at No. 100 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in 2010. Featuring duets with the likes of Placido Domingo and Eros Ramazzotti, the album was promoted by performing at the 80th annual tree lighting at the Rocketfeller Center in New York. A month later the group also sung at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo, Norway, performing the tracks “Il Monde” and “We Are Love”, before the group embarked on their 2012 South American Tour.

The internationally released Christmas album “Buon Natale: The Christmas Album” earned its release in October 2013, featuring classic Christmas songs from Latin, Spanish, German, and English-speaking cultures. The record topped the Billboard Holiday Albums chart after which Il Vovo received two Latin Billboard Music Award nominations for Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year and Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year for which they won the latter. The group’s third official album “Sanremo grande amore” arrived in February 2015 led by the single “Grande amore”. Featuring covers of infamous songs by Eduardo De Crescenzo, Matia Bazar, and Renato Rascel, the album topped the Italian Albums Chart and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Classical Albums Chart.

My husband and I went to an Il Volo concert in Miami on March 5, 2016.

It was stupendous and my husband and I both loved it. The boys were in fine form and their singing was glorious. We were amazed at their capability of sustaining such a rigorous show with all their singing and banter. The music accompanying the boys was also wonderful. All in all it was a wonderful experience.

The banter of the boys was cute and appropriate for such young men and it seemed to me sweet and good-natured, though maybe it was a tad too long in spots. Also, my only disappointment was that they did not sing all the songs of theirs that I love, but I guess we would have been there until morning. That is what CD's are for, I guess!

I took binoculars with me to better see the boys and was not disappointed. They were as cute in person as on their Utubes. There sure was alot of hair on that stage with all the facial stubble and hair, Cute !

We were a little too cozy in the seating of the arena and I drove my husband crazy with all my getting up and down for standing ovations.

All in all it was a wonderful experience and I hope to see them again as soon as I can. I hope they take good care of themselves and don't overdo it.

First time I saw Il Volo was on PBS. After that concert on TV, I new that I had to see them live on stage. Living close to Casino Rama in Canada, I was very excited to find out that they would have a concert coming up in February of 2016. I could hardly wait for the day to see those very talented young men on stage.

Was I ever in awe to hear them live. There powerful voices are amazing, the singing flawless. They can be very serious, but at the same time funny and entertaining. The varietey of song choice couldn't have been better. I can't wait to attend the next concert.

They are very much in love with their home country, Italy. Speaking and jooking to the audience quite a lot in their own language was a bit frustrating to us english speaking fans because we didn't understand. Meanwhile the Italian fans laughed their head off.

Please let the rest of the world laugh too.

Had a wonderful time at the concert yesterday evening with my daughter. Felt I was in Italy with all the flag waving from their many excitable fans. Loved the humour between them all crazy crazy. Will be going again if they come back to England. The duet with Gianluca and Piero with My Way was a wow factor for me as was Memory sung by Ignazio and also the one and only Unchained Melody Bridge Over Troubled Water Il Mondo O Sole Mio and Life is Beautiful being one of my favourites. Seeing as my ancestral family is from Lucca I felt right at home with it all singing along with most of their songs. Fantastic evening. Love from Maureen & Louise Bradley xx

Love the boys, oops! Young men now. Been listening to them since they first started. Beautiful, extremely talented, personable. Their voices are heaven sent. If there is one thing I’d change it is the orchestra’s volume. It seems as if they are in competition with the guys instead of supporting them. At times you have to strain to hear the vocals above the instruments. Thank heavens the guys have strong enough voices to compensate. However, I don’t think they should have to. We go to their shows to hear them, not the orchestra. In all honesty, they could sing a cappella and be just as good.

I have seen Il Volo for the 3rd time, they sure have grown up, their personality has not changed in anyway, they are still very much down to earth young men. Their choice of music is great as well as their voices. When they sing in Italian & French, it brings me back to my youth, as I was born in Florence and grew up in Paris. There is no doubt their career has a great success within a short time. I am looking forward to see them again, hoping they will return to the US and maybe be able to talk to them. Il Volo was the most fantastic show I have ever seen. I have been to four of their concerts in 6 years and their voices keep getting better all the time. I saw them in D C two weeks ago and then again in Orlando this past week. The shows were slightly different. My husband had never been to one of their concerts and he said "the music penetrated my body...their voices are the best I ever heard."

I know all of the Italian words to their songs, yet do not understand what I am saying. I am an Il Volo fanatic!!!!

Saw Il Volo at the Royal Albert Hall in London this year 23rd May. It was an amazing evening with good seating to view their performances of old and new songs. Always a good atmosphere surrounded by lots of excited italians. This was my second show of seeing them and hope to again in 2018, having followed them since their beginning as teenagers. Their wonderful concerts not to be missed.

What a joy it was to hear these delightful and talented young artists! We have not had such an enjoyable and romantic evening in years. Our only complaint was the venue as we were not able to choose our seats which were deplorable, add to that the hard benches to sit on for two hours, did not help. Shame on you Ryman, you could do much better for these prices!

The concert was amazing from begining to end and the atmospgere was electrifying ! The show was fast moving without a dull moment and with one beautiful song after another eacg one leaving you breathless! I went with my 83 year old mum ( i am 53 years old) and she to was transported to Il Bel Canto sung by 3 angels! A concert not to be missed !

Trio Il Volo specialize in making the old feel new again.

The group, known for its brand of pop opera affectionately dubbed “popera,” has made the centuries-old genre mainstream again. Now, Il Volo’s latest endeavor is reviving beloved “Cinema Paradiso” and “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly” composer Ennio Morricone’s famous soundtracks with vocals over them.

On Nov. 5, the singers released the album “Il Volo Sings Morricone” and have since announced a U.S. tour with shows in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania to accompany the new 14-track offering.

To see international superstars Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble, and Ignazio Boschetto live in concert in 2022, all the details are below.

Where can I buy tickets to see Il Volo?

Tickets to see the three vocalists will officially be released to the general public on Friday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. EST on Ticketmaster . But after scanning the secondary market, we’ve found tickets for shows readily available on StubHub , TicketCity , SeatGeek , TicketNetwork and Vivid Seats .

It’s common for speculative tickets to show up on the secondary market first, but be aware that prices may be more expensive than when they go on sale to the general public.

Where will Il Volo be playing on their tour?

The “Il Volo Sings Morricone” tour will see the group bring their brand of pop opera to over 20 venues from March to April 2022.

Il Volo is set to play New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on March 18. The cheapest tickets we could were $149 before fees .

The next night, on March 19, the three will bring the spirit of Morricone to New Jersey’s Borgata Event Center in Atlantic City. The cheapest seats were $129 before fees .

Soon after, the international superstars stop by Bethlehem’s Wind Creek Event Center in Pennsylvania on March 23. The cheapest seats listed were for $143 before fees .

All prices were found at the time of publication and are subject to fluctuation.

Who collaborated with the band on “Il Volo Sings Morricone?”

Il Volo worked closely with Ennio Morricone’s son Andrea on the album. The younger Morricone wrote the lyrics to accompany his father’s music specifically for Barone, Ginoble, and Boschetto. He also penned the unreleased track “I colori dell’amore” (“The Colors of Love”) for the group as well.

Alas, no vegas 🙁, ok, i’m sure most of you have seen the new dates and have already decided which concert/s you will be attending.  i waited a bit to post this as i had a few questions myself and i wanted to figure some things out before i posted it.  i should have looked at my regular email first  lol  oh well, but here you go, for the fan club – everyone is asking  yes, it’s simple and yet it’s complicated  i easily “renewed” yesterday from my phone and almost instantly received the receipt for the payment, etc.  however, likely due to my phone email controls, i never saw the email with the code come through, so i was waiting.  (i looked today and it was in my regular gmail account – very clear), here is link to sign up: il volo official fanclub › sign up (ilvolomusic.com), (when you get to the site, when i signed up, the english link was not working, it may be fixed by now, so i clicked on the spanish link and it worked), oddly, the activation code email comes from wordpress.  technically, you will get 3 emails.   one confirming your purchase with the invoice, one from paypal, if you do it that way, and the third is the one that has the activation code in it, from wordpress.  when i actually followed the instructions in the letter that comes with the activation code – it’s in all 3 languages (and finally got into the site) the code was already in there and i just had to click on it to activate it.  just fyi, you will actually be accessing the fan club site, not just the il volo music.com site.  i would suggest signing up on the site first – that is the trickiest part…  however, once you get through all of that, it’s very quick and easy, i did find some useful info on there, which i will print below.  stefania is one of the ladies that runs the fan club site and is answering some very important questions a few folks had…. they are posted below:, stefania castriota, you will receive your code on november 9th usually an hour to half an hour before on the main page of this site. there is a limit of four tickets per account on ticketmaster., (just to clarify here – you will not get an email with the concert activation code – it will be on the fan club site), stefania, this is very helpful. thanks so much. i do have one more question. when i joined the fan club originally, i signed up as m. however, i have seen comments that if you are lucky enough to be able to attend a sound check before the concert, you must show identification that matches your il volo profile exactly. unfortunately, all of my identification is with my first name as m. do i need to change/edit my profile to my more formal name, even though my billing info is m sorry if this is confusing i appreciate all of your help with everyone, hi, which pre-order page are you referring too you won’t be able to purchase tickets until november 9th which is when the pre-sale begins., hi no problem. as per your question, if i remember correctly, you’ll just have to edit your name on your profile at the time you sign up so it will match up to your il volo profile as well as your id if they ask for it., ok, i’m sure you will still have questions, etc.  we’ll do our best to answer.  i did ask on the fan site an idea of how much tickets will cost for vip packages, etc.  i’m anticipating $$$…, so, ladies, and gents, get your credit cards handy and ready for 10a est and your fingers oiled  🙂, if you don’t already have a ticketmaster account, they suggest getting one first, and being signed in ahead of time…. 🙂, buona fortuna a tutti  🙂, p.s.  talked to pat last night and she’s getting better, but it’s going to be a slow process – you may need to put up with me a while longer lol  😉, share this:, 109 thoughts on “2022 north american tour/fan club”.

I guess I’m totally confused. I thought I was a member of Il Volo fan club, but I didn’t know about any charge to be a member. Also. I paid Ticketmaster for front row seating, but never received info about “meet & greet” tickett or ID, which was supposed to be included. HELP!!!

Janet, yes it’s roughly $20 to be a fan club member. It’s really not critical to be a member unless you want to do the sound check and that can wait until a few weeks before. As for mg, you will get notified via omgvip group, roughly a few weeks or so before the concert. They will confirm your attendance.

Frankly, no one is really sure if they will have the sound check or not and some are wondering if they will do the mg. Everything depends on covid, etc.

Il Volo , the beloved Italian trio of teenage tenors, is setting off this autumn for their first North American tour.

Ignazio Boschetto, Piero Barone and Gianluca Ginoble (aged 17, 18 and 16 respectively) are also known as i Tenorini. The young singers won over audiences when they first joined together in 2009 to perform renditions of classics like “O Sole Mio,” on Italian television.

Il Volo’s first album was released in November 2010 and reached #6 on Italian charts.

The group released the international edition of the self-titled album in April 2011. With the help of three appearances on American Idol earlier this year, the album debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200, and reached #1 on the American Classical Albums chart.

After selling 23,000 copies in the United States within the first week of their album’s release, Il Volo has now planned their debut North American tour. The tour will begin in Atlantic City on 24 September, span both coasts and include stops in Canada and the Bahamas before wrapping up on 23 October.

Tickets are already on sale for New York, Los Angeles and Miami performances. Sale dates for the other North American tour stops will be announced sporadically on ilvolomusic.com as the information becomes available.

But it’s just the beginning. On April 20, their new world tour will start from China and then move to Japan. It will then touch the main European capitals in autumn and will arrive in the USA, Canada and Latin America in 2025.

Billboard Italy met them on a rainy morning at the end of March in Milan. They joke with each other from the start, except when they reflect on what their music means to their audience.

What determined this change of approach?

Gianluca : After great projects in recent years, especially the tribute to Ennio Morricone, we thought the time had come to sing original songs. We wanted to try to be ourselves 100%. Being an interpreter is great, but singing your own songs is a completely different thing. The songwriters got to know us personally because they came to our concerts. We tried to make a real concept album, very diverse, with an intro and an outro. The album perfectly reflects who we are. Well, some songs reflect one or the other of us in particular. We want to demonstrate that diversity is our strength.

Which song represents each of you the most?

Piero : I too would say “Ad Astra,” then “Saturno e Venere” featuring Irama. We immediately got on well in the studio with him, despite coming from different worlds, and we saw the way he writes his songs. Irama thinks of the melody first, then the words come. It was very fascinating to watch him at work. I also really love “Opera” for the message it sends: try to live your days without thinking too much about tomorrow. It is in small gestures that we must seek happiness.

What’s the most important message you would like to convey to young people who feel under pressure?

Piero : Always look for enthusiasm in what you do, always persevere by pursuing your passions, without putting money first.

Gianluca : I’d say the meaning of the Latin expression “Per aspera ad astra” [“to the stars, through difficulties”]: you cannot achieve great results if you don’t sacrifice yourself. The main problem for young people, but also for adults, is not knowing themselves enough. That way, you don’t feel a sense of purpose.

What kept you together for so long?

Ignazio : We could say the love for music, but that would be too obvious. It is the awareness that our strength lies in our unity and our diversity. As soloists we would never be the same.

Do you feel respected by other artists?

What is the most significant international tour you have done?

Piero : Definitely Japan, where we’ll be returning in a few weeks. We can’t wait. Our music genre gave us the opportunity to have unique, unrepeatable experiences. Last year they wanted us for the inauguration of the Kiyomizu-dera temple in Kyoto, a world heritage site immersed in a forest. We sang between the columns, dressed in white. The emotion was indescribable. Japan is a destination that we recommend to everyone: it showed us how we should behave, always. Respect for others, even for strangers, is an essential value there.

You said that at one of your concerts you initially thought the audience had fallen asleep.

Ignazio : The Japanese close their eyes to concentrate. At the end, however, everyone gets up and wants to come and say hello on stage – strictly waiting for the right moment, of course. Even the way of clapping is different, it’s quieter.

What have been the biggest sacrifices of these 15 years?

Gianluca : Sacrifices are constant, especially in terms of homesickness, despite we do what we love most. There were moments when we didn’t know what to do, like the year before we won Sanremo. In 2014 we kept changing record companies and didn’t know which path to take. With this new album we want to show who we are even more.

And the best moments?

Gianluca : There are many. The victory of Sanremo 2015, the tour with Barbra Streisand, the “We Are The World for Haiti” concert in 2010. But this last edition of Sanremo was also a way to show how much we have grown as artists.

What’s the most unexpected feature you would like to have in one of your songs?

Piero : Lazza, also because he’s very good at playing piano.

Another highlight is " I colori dell'amore " ("The Colors of Love"), an unreleased track composed by Andrea for the trio, which was unexpectedly performed live for the first time at The Arena di Verona on June 5, 2021 . Rounding out the album is "E più ti penso" ("The More I Think of You"), a medley of Ennio Morricone's scores from the films Once Upon a Time in America and Malèna , a nod to the trio's live performance of the song with the Maestro at Piazza del Popolo in Rome in 2011. Il Volo’s concert at FLA Live Arena (Sunrise, FL), October 9th will be livestreaming. The group will be donating all proceeds of the livestream to the Red Cross

Vnue announced today that the company has partnered with the Italian superstar trio Il Volo and will be livestreaming the group’s concert at FLA Live Arena (Sunrise, FL), October 9th, 2022, at 8:15 EST, via VNUE’s StageIt platform. The trio’s performance at FLA Live Arena is produced by Live Nation.

And, Il Volo has confirmed that the group will be donating all proceeds of the livestream to the Red Cross in support of the victims of Hurricane Ian. VNUE, the FLA Arena, and Il Volo have all teamed up with the Red Cross for this great cause.

To register and purchase to view the livestream, fans should visit https://bit.ly/IlVololivestream.

Fans may register on StageIt in advance, and purchase “Notes” which fans may use to virtually attend the show. The minimum ticket price is $30 (300 Notes), but fans are also encouraged to donate above and beyond the base price of the ticket. The five highest donations will receive special prizes from Il Volo, such as signed set lists or other special memorabilia items.

As of today’s date, there are 101 people who have lost their lives due to hurricane Ian with many others injured.  There are hundreds of thousands without power, water, food, gas and other basic needs. Officials are speculating that Ian is the most costly hurricane ever to hit Florida, which made landfall last week as a Category 4 storm.

Il Volo was scheduled to perform “Il Volo Live in Concert” at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers, Florida, but unfortunately had to cancel this performance due to Ian’s destructive wrath. As a tribute to those who lost their lives in Ft. Myers and the surrounding areas, and for all the families whose lives are destroyed and need help desperately, the group decided to partner with the Red Cross, and with VNUE, to livestream the concert and donate the proceeds in support of the victims.

“Our first show ever in the United States was in Florida at the beginning of our career and we have the most wonderful memories performing for our Florida audience,” said Il Volo. “Seeing the videos and pictures of the devastation hurricane Ian left behind we felt strongly compelled to give back to the people of Florida and their communities. We are excited to team up with VNUE, FLA Live Arena and the Red Cross to bring our live performance, produced by Live Nation, to the world for the benefit of the victims of hurricane Ian.”

Adult periodical cicadas from Brood XIX have been spotted by users in multiple states across the Southeast and Midwest including in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and Illinois, according to  Cicada Safari , a cicada tracking app developed by Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Through Cicada Safari, users can confirm their sightings of cicadas with pictures, look at a map of other cicada sightings, join a leaderboard with other users and learn more information about cicadas.

The two cicada broods are projected to emerge in a combined 17 states across the South and Midwest. They emerge once the soil eight inches underground reaches 64 degrees, expected to begin in many states in May and lasting through late June.

The two broods  last emerged together in 1803 , when Thomas Jefferson was president.

What is a brood?

According to the  University of Connecticut , broods are classified as "all periodical cicadas of the same life cycle type that emerge in a given year."

A brood of cicadas is made up of different species of the insect that have separate evolutionary histories. These species may have joined the brood at different times or from different sources. These different species are lumped together under the brood because they are in the same region and emerge on a common schedule.

Why do cicadas make so much noise?

You'll have to thank the male cicadas for all that screeching. Male cicadas synchronize their calls and produce congregational songs, according to  Britannica , which establish territory and attract females. There is also a courting call that they make before mating.

Unluckily for us, the 13-year and 17-year brood cicadas  are the loudest , partially because of the sheer number of them that emerge at once.
