Look what you made her do: Taylor Swift announces 6 Toronto dates for 2024

November 2024 shows are all at toronto's rogers centre.

Taylor Swift fans rejoice at Toronto tour dates

Social sharing.

Ending her reign as Canada's anti-hero, Taylor Swift has announced six Canadian concert dates for her Eras tour.

The pop superstar's previously released schedule had conspicuously left off any stops north of the border , while hitting 50 stops across North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

But as the scheduled shows stretched into late 2024, fans across the country expressed surprise — and tried to convince Swift to change her mind.

The campaign to bring Swift to Canada spread all the way to government. Alongside a pun-laden tweet by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Edmonton MP Matt Jeneroux said he would file a grievance "on behalf of all Swifties" who wanted to see the singer perform in the country.

The revised schedule includes Canadian shows, but they are all in one city: Toronto.

Swift will be performing at the Rogers Centre on Nov. 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23 in 2024, according to a post on her Instagram account. She will be the first musician to ever play that many shows in a row at the stadium, Rogers shared in a press release.

While Swift has played in Canada in the past, her presence in the country has been dwindling — at least physically.

Her 2018 Reputation Stadium tour similarly made Rogers Centre its only stop, though with only two shows there instead of six. That show marked the last time Swift performed in Canada.

All of her previous tours included at least two Canadian cities: 2015's world tour for her album  1989 included concerts in Ottawa, Montreal, Edmonton and Vancouver along with Toronto, while 2013's Red tour included Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto.

#TheMoment Taylor Swift fans caused an earthquake at her concert

For fans across Canada holding out hope, more late add-on dates may be possible.

As is common for major stadium tours, Swift often adds additional cities as she tours — including Edmonton's inclusion nearly four months after her Red tour's initial shows were announced.

But even with additional dates, Swifties can still expect a cruel summer — and fall, winter and spring.

Back when the Eras tour's Ticketmaster presale opened in Nov. 2022, fans reported so much difficulty purchasing tickets it led to heated questions in a U.S. Senate hearing with Ticketmaster's parent company Live Nation Entertainment .

  • Springsteen's 'dynamic' ticket prices just the latest twist in Ticketmaster saga
  • Calgary Taylor Swift fans disappointed over singer's decision to skip Canada on new tour

The huge number of fans — as well as bots — quickly crashed the site , and caused multiple people to lose their spot in line and chance to get a ticket for themselves.

"We apologize to the fans, we apologize to Ms. Swift, we need to do better and we will do better," Live Nation's president and chief financial officer Joe Berchtold said at the January hearing.

Verified fan registration for Toronto's show is open on Ticketmaster now  while tickets go on sale Aug. 9.

New dates added at BC Place in Vancouver!

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Verified Fan Onsale is using registration to ensure more tickets get into the hands of fans who want to go to the shows, not buyers looking to resell them.

Only fans that receive an email confirming their access will be able to join the queue for this Verified Fan Onsale. Fans who are selected will receive additional instructions on Wednesday, November 8. All others will be put on a waitlist.

Tickets for these shows will be in high demand, therefore, a limited number of fans will get access to the Verified Fan Onsale while others will be placed on the waitlist as described below. Access to the Verified Fan Onsale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

Registration is open from Thursday, November 2 at 8:00 a.m. PT through Saturday, November 4 at 5:00 p.m. PT .

Key Dates to Know

Thursday, November 2 – Registration opens Saturday, November 4 @ 5:00 p.m. PT – Registration closes Wednesday, November 8 – Fans will receive confirmation if they will have access to the Verified Fan Onsale or if they have been placed on the waitlist.

Thursday, November 9 – Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Verified Fan Onsale (only fans that received an email confirming their access will be able to join the queue for this sale). All shows will be assigned specific on-sale windows, which will be communicated prior to the start of the sale.

How Will This Sale Work?

Ticketmaster is helping artists give their fans a better opportunity to purchase tickets by creating an extra line of defense against bots and professional resellers who are looking to sell tickets for profit. The process includes three steps:

Step 1: Registration

By registering for the Verified Fan Onsale, you are letting us know that you’re interested in purchasing tickets. From the registration page, you sign into or create your account, select your preferred show(s) and register your email and phone number. Once completed, you’ll automatically receive a confirmation email letting you know that we got your request. It’s quick, easy and free to sign up.

Step 2: Verification

Next, Ticketmaster vets each request by confirming it belongs to an individual — not a bot — and that it hasn’t been tied to irregular behaviors that could be a sign of a professional seller attempting to access the sale.

Step 3: Access Code or Waitlist

When demand exceeds availability, a limited number of registered Verified Fans will get access to the sale and others will be placed on a waitlist. You’ll receive an email on Wednesday, November 8 letting you know which group you’re in. If selected to get access to the sale, you’ll receive a unique access code and purchase link via text message the day prior to your Verified Fan Onsale.

While no system can guarantee that all fans will get tickets to the show(s) they’re interested in, the Verified Fan program works to significantly block bots and professional resellers from competing against fans for tickets during the sale.

Common Questions

How do i register.

  • To register, please visit: HERE
  • Sign in using your My Account or create an account if you don’t have one.
  • Tell us what show you’re interested in and submit your registration; we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest information.

We’ll send you a confirmation email to let you know your registration was successful and what you can expect next.

If I receive access to the Verified Fan sale, am I guaranteed tickets?

No. Access means you have an opportunity to join the Verified Fan sale but it is not a guarantee you’ll be able to purchase tickets. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

If I received access to the Verified Fan sale, how do I purchase tickets?

  • At the specified time, click the link you were sent.
  • You’ll enter the Smart Queue. To keep your place in line, stay on the page and don’t refresh. Do not open more than one browser window.
  • Once it’s your turn, shop for tickets by using your unique access code. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis while currently-available inventory lasts and aren’t guaranteed. Each event has a strict four (4) ticket limit per customer.
  • Then checkout!

How many tickets can I buy with my code?

You can purchase up to 4 tickets for the one show indicated in the text you received.

When will the Waiting Room open?

The Waiting Room will open 30 minutes before the designated Verified Fan sale window begins. When the Verified Fan sale begins, fans in the Waiting Room are assigned a spot in line. Once you reach the end of the queue, you’ll have an opportunity to shop for tickets. Stay on the page and don’t refresh or you may lose your spot in line.

You must use the same Ticketmaster account that you registered with to join the Waiting Room.

How do I join the queue?

Sign in through the link that we texted to the phone number you provided during registration to access the queue.

What can I do to prepare?

If you’ve been selected to participate in the Verified Fan sale, we recommend that you prepare by signing into your Ticketmaster account before the Verified Fan sale to make sure your billing information is up to date. This will help speed up the checkout process after you’ve selected the tickets you want to buy.

My link isn’t working. What should I do?

If you registered and received access to shop for tickets through text or email from Ticketmaster, but the link’s not working, try checking these things first:

  • Make sure the event is on sale. Links are sent out before the event goes on sale but won’t work until the event is actually on sale.
  • You must be signed in with the same email address you used to register for the Verified Fan sale.

Will there be other ways to buy Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour tickets?

The only official way to get Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour tickets is through the Ticketmaster Verified Fan Onsale or through certain other limited tour-sponsored onsale opportunities for specific shows. Be on the lookout for information on these other opportunities where available.

I got an email saying I’m on the waitlist. What does that mean?

If you’re currently on the waitlist, stay tuned — you may still have an opportunity to shop for tickets.

When there are more fans than there are tickets, a limited number of fans will get access to join at the start of the Verified Fan sale and others will be placed on the waitlist.

More fans may get access to join the Verified Fan sale based on ticket availability. If you’re selected, you will receive a text with a link to join the Verified Fan sale. Please note, moving off the waitlist does not guarantee access to tickets. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis while currently-available inventory lasts.

Can I register more than once to increase the likelihood that I am able to purchase tickets ?

Registering more than once for a specific event does not increase the likelihood that you are able to purchase tickets . If you want to change the event date you selected after you’ve registered, you can make those edits while the registration window is still open. We only keep the last registration you submitted.

I received a confirmation email after I registered, what does that mean?

The email is simply to inform you that we have received your registration and will be working to verify your account. It doesn’t guarantee that you will be selected for the Verified Fan sale access. A second email will be sent on Wednesday, November 8 letting you know if you will get access to the sale or if you’ve been placed on the waitlist. If selected, the day prior to your Verified Fan sale you’ll receive a text message with a unique access code and link to use.

I’m a real fan of this artist, and not a bot or reseller. Why didn’t I get access?

Selection is not a measure of how big a fan anybody is. Sometimes there simply aren’t enough tickets for everyone. When demand exceeds availability, a limited number of fans get access to the Verified Fan sale, and others must be placed on the waitlist. The number of fans who receive access depends on the number of tickets currently available — this is done to help create a less crowded ticket shopping experience for fans.

How will I know if I’ve been granted access to the Verified Fan sale after I’ve been placed on the waitlist?

If selected, you will receive a text with a unique access code and link to the ticket sale. In the event of any SMS/texting delivery issues, we’ll email your unique access code and link to the email address associated with your Ticketmaster account that you used to register. Access to the Verified Fan Onsale does not guarantee tickets. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis while currently-available inventory lasts. If you’re sent a unique access code and link you should join the Verified Fan sale as soon as possible for your opportunity to purchase tickets.

Listen to this article

It's officially happening – Taylor Swift has finally embarked on her long-awaited worldwide tour and fans are already sweating over the ticket buying process.

On November 1st 2022, Taylor announced that she will be setting off on her brand new ' The Eras Tour ', which will be "a journey through the musical eras of [her] career (past & present!)"

As of August 2023, Taylor has almost completed the U.S. leg of the tour. She's soon set to perform in South America, before dropping into Japan, Australia, Singapore, the UK, Ireland and various countries across Europe. She's also just announced more North American dates at the end of 2024.

How to get and where to find US and Canada pre-sale codes for Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour

There is currently one way in which fans in the U.S. and Canada can gain access to the official pre-sales for tickets to Taylor's upcoming The Eras Tour, and that is through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan feature.

Here's how to secure your access to the ticket pre-sale using each of those methods.

How to access the Ticketmaster Verified Fan pre-sale for The Eras Tour.

One way fans will be able to get a chance to buy tickets to the Eras Tour is through Ticketmaster Verified Fan pre-sale.

You'll need to register using your Ticketmaster account log in, and you will then receive an email confirmation with details on what to expect next .

  • For the U.S. shows, scroll down and click 'register now' here .
  • For the Canada shows, scroll down and click 'register now' here .

If you have been successful, you will be sent a unique pre-sale code before the tickets go on sale. This code will be exclusive to your Ticketmaster email address only. You will not be able to share them.

When the sale starts, you will need to click the link sent to you by Ticketmaster and enter your unique code once you make it through the Smart Queue. You will then get a chance to purchase your tickets.

If you have not been successful, you will be put on the waitlist. You may then be contacted after the Verified Fan sale has started with an invite to purchase tickets.

Taylor has used this feature in the past during the Reputation Stadium Tour. It helps genuine fans secure tickets to see their favourite artists before touts and bots even get a chance to glance in that direction.

It should be noted that Ticketmaster's Verified Fan feature does not guarantee you a ticket, but it does ensure that fans are the first ones served, not bots.

The Canadian shows arrive after a Latin American run (going down later this month), a jaunt through Asia and Australia (slated for early next spring), and two additional legs in Europe and the US. Check out Swift’s full, updated list of upcoming dates .

How to get presale access to Taylor Swift's 'The Eras Tour' tickets

Madison Blancaflor

Editor's Note

Presale ticket access to Taylor Swift's new tour kicks off on Tuesday, Nov. 15. But if you check your emails and don't receive confirmation of your Verified Fan presale access code for 10 a.m., there's still hope of getting presale tickets if you have the right credit card.

Taylor Swift announced her 2023 tour earlier this month after her newest album "Midnights" broke multiple records on Spotify and Billboard. "The Eras Tour" is a big moment for Taylor Swift fans — it's her first tour since before the pandemic and the setlist will cover six albums total. She also has some fantastic supporting artists going on tour with her, including Paramore, HAIM and Phoebe Bridgers. A few fan-favorite songs have even been confirmed as part of the setlist, such as "All Too Well (10-Minute Version)."

Tickets to "The Eras Tour" won't go on sale to the general public until Nov. 18, and many Swifties are worried about the probability of snagging a ticket outside of the Verified Fan presale through Ticketmaster. This is in part because ticket prices have been preannounced and prices are relatively affordable — tickets will start at just $49.

Luckily, you don't need to be a mastermind to score tickets. Those who bought tickets for her "Lover Fest" tour (which had to be canceled during the pandemic) and those with Verified Fan presale access will receive earlier access to presale tickets starting at 10 a.m. local venue time on Tuesday. In addition, having the right credit card will still get you presale access starting at 2 p.m. local venue time on Nov. 16 thanks to Capital One Presale .

Want a reputation for great redemptions? Use the right card on every purchase when you download the free TPG App !

What is the Capital One cardholder Taylor Swift presale?

Great news for all Capital One cardholders: If you have an eligible Capital One credit or debit card, you'll have access to presale tickets starting Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. local venue time. A range of ticket options will be available during this presale (including premium options), and there is no selection process or special invite needed aside from your card.

All Capital One Visa or Mastercard credit or debit cardholders are eligible for this presale, but private label cards are not eligible.

Here are the steps for getting presale access with your Capital One card:

  • On Nov. 16 just before 2 p.m. local venue time (or anytime throughout the presale window), head to this page and select the concert date and venue you want. That will send you to the Ticketmaster page, where tickets will go live promptly at 2 p.m. local venue time.
  • When asked for the presale code, use the first six digits of your Capital One card.
  • Depending on demand when you log in, you'll be put into a queue to wait for your turn to buy tickets. Do not refresh your page once you get to the queue page.
  • You can select up to six tickets via this presale while supplies last (which means you'll want to grab tickets as early as possible in case they sell out).
  • Once you have your tickets, you must check out using your Capital One card.

What if you don't have a Capital One credit card already? The terms and conditions on the landing page for "The Eras Tour" Capital One presale says, "The Capital One Cardholder Presale is for existing Capital One cardholders. New applicants that have recently applied and have yet to receive card information are not eligible if a new card is received post the Cardholder Pre-sale window or after presale tickets have sold out."

Long story short, this, unfortunately, means that anyone who doesn't already have their Capital One card by now will be excluded from this presale.

However, if you're a regular concertgoer, it might be worth it to look into which cards could get you presale access to future events. For example, eligible American Express cardholders got presale access to Harry Styles "Love on Tour" earlier this year. You can check out our post on how your cards can help you unlock VIP events or learn which cards are best for entertainment purchases (such as concert tickets).

Tips for the Capital One Taylor Swift presale

If you've ever attempted to get highly-sought after concert tickets from Ticketmaster, you know it can feel a bit like the great war navigating the waiting room, queue and then ticket sale process. Having a Capital One credit card for access is only half the battle.

Here are some tips for snagging your tickets without a glitch:

Add your card to your Ticketmaster account in advance

Many people know all too well that almost nothing is worse than logging into a presale event, snagging a place early in the queue, selecting amazing tickets ... and then hitting an error message when trying to load your credit card information.

The best way to avoid this (while also saving time) is to log in early and add the Capital One card you plan to use to access the presale and pay for your tickets as the default payment method on your account. This way, you won't need to input your card details in the moment and Ticketmaster will have your details on file for a faster purchasing experience.

Sign in to Ticketmaster early

The Capital One presale starts at 2 p.m. local venue time (meaning if you live in L.A. and you want to snag concert tickets for Philidelphia, that presale will start at 11 a.m. PT), but you'll want to log into Ticketmaster and navigate to the ticket page at least 30 minutes in advance.

For the Verified Fan presale, participants are usually invited to a "waiting room" up to 30 minutes in advance of tickets going live, which then secures their place in line for the queue. While credit card presale access doesn't always follow that same process, being logged in early and keeping the page up and running while you wait will ensure you do get a spot in the waiting room if there is one.

And even if there isn't a waiting room with this presale, it'll make sure everything is good to go with your account and that you're ready to refresh into the queue as soon as the clock strikes 2 p.m. local venue time.

Check your Wi-Fi

A strong Wi-Fi connection is everything when trying to snag tickets during a competitive presale. The faster your device loads, the better your chances and securing and early slot in the queue and getting the best tickets possible. If you have a friend with stronger Wi-Fi than you, now is the time to ask to crash their couch during the presale event.

If you're on your phone, you might be tempted to forgo Wi-Fi altogether, but if you do have access to a strong Wi-Fi connection, it's better to use that over 4G or 5G service that may lag at an inopportune time.

Memorize your presale code and have your card nearby

Before you are able to buy tickets, Ticketmaster will ask for a "presale code." For this presale, that code is the first 6 digits of your Capital One credit card.

It's not a bad idea to memorize those digits ahead of time for easy entry, but you'll also want to have your card ready to go as you pull up tickets in case you forget the numbers or need to verify your CVV (that 3-digit number on the back of your card).

Consider going mobile

The Verified Fan presale emails recommended hopeful presale ticket buyers to use a deskop rather than the mobile app. However, there is anecdotal evidence that Ticketmaster prioritizes mobile app users over desktop users. While Ticketmaster hasn't confirmed this and there is no hard proof, it's worth considering using your phone instead of a desktop to snag tickets if there's a potential you'll get in faster.

On the other hand, if you have the Rakuten shopping portal plugin, Ticketmaster is often a vendor where you can get additional rewards when shopping through the portal. While I do have Rakuten, I'm personally choosing to prioritize speed over additional rewards — especially since I'll get 2 miles per dollar with my Venture X on my purchase.

Know when to refresh your page (and when not to)

This is a big one. Knowing when to hit refresh and when to have patience can be the difference between getting ticket access in minutes versus hours.

If you are asked to join a waiting room prior to presale access:

Once you are in a waiting room, that automatically puts you in line for the queue. On a desktop, you won't need to refresh your page right at 2 p.m. in order to be moved to the queue page. If you're on mobile, you will need to refresh your screen (don't exit out of the app, simply pull down on the screen for it to reload) for it to send you to the queue.

If there is not a waiting room ahead of tickets going live at 2 p.m. local venue time:

This is where it becomes a race to reload. If there is no waiting room, you're going to want to keep a very close eye on the clock (as in, find a clock with a seconds countdown) leading up to the 2 p.m. start time for the presale.

Starting around 10 seconds before the clock flips to 2 p.m. local venue time, start refreshing your page until you secure your spot in the queue.

Once you are in the queue:

Stay, stay, stay. If your screen has a walking figure on it indicating you are in line for the queue, do not refresh your page. I repeat: Once you're in the queue, do not refresh your page.

Below is an example of what the queue page will look like. Though it's from the Verified Fan presale queue, the Capital One presale queue will look very similar.

taylor swift eras tour canada presale

When you refresh while in the queue, Ticketmaster will boot you to the end of the line and you'll be forced to begin again.

Once you're in the queue, the only time you should ever reload your page is if prompted by a Ticketmaster error message on your screen that requests you reload your page and try again. Otherwise, trust the process and know that while it might take a while, you are in line and will be prompted to get tickets when it's your turn.

Beware of will call if using someone else's card

If you are using a parent, spouse or friend's card to score tickets, keep in mind that Ticketmaster may end up giving you will-call tickets. Will-call means you'll have to pick up the tickets in person at the box office of the venue the day of the concert — and the person whose name is on the card you used will have to be present with a photo ID and the card itself.

This could be an issue if you (and the person whose name is on the card) live in Arkansas but the concert you are attending is in Nashville, TN, for example.

Of course, you could end up breezing through and getting e-tickets that don't require an in-person pick-up (my little sister has used my card for Harry Styles presale tickets in the past and been just fine). But it's something to keep a lookout for when buying tickets.

Which Capital One card should you use for 'The Eras Tour' presale?

taylor swift eras tour canada presale

If you have multiple Capital One cards, you might be wondering which card is the best to use on concert ticket purchases.

Your highest cash-back potential comes with the Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card . You'll get 4% cash back on entertainment purchases — including concert tickets. Alternatively, there's also the no-annual-fee Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card , which earns 3% cash back on entertainment.

The information for the Capital One Savor card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

However, if you're a frequent traveler who prioritizes travel rewards over cash back, you should use either the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card . They'll each earn 2 miles per dollar spent on your ticket purchase.

After you grab your tickets, also keep in mind that the Venture X also earns 10 miles per dollar spent on hotels and rental cars, and 5 miles per dollar spent on flights booked through the Capital One Travel portal — a solid earning option if you're traveling to one of the concert venues.

Of course, you don't have to have one of these specific cards to get presale access — any Capital One credit or debit card (excluding private label cards) is eligible for access.

Bottom line

For a lot of fans — myself included — Taylor Swift music has been a mainstay throughout the majority of our lives. I first listened to her when "Tim McGraw" made its radio debut, and I've remained a fan throughout every album since. This tour is the culmination of years of new albums and re-releases, a tour bigger than the whole sky for many fellow Swifties. So, getting tickets is likely to be a competitive labyrinth.

If you weren't the lucky one selected for Verified Fan presale but are a Capital One cardholder, you'll still be able to get presale ticket access to "The Eras Tour."

Remember, presale tickets go live Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. local venue time for Capital One cardholders. Set your clocks and get ready to jump then fall so you can get your tickets for the best day.

Until then, you can find me listening to "Midnights" on repeat.

Canadian Taylor Swift fans 'heartbroken' over waitlist for Eras Tour Toronto shows

It seems only a lucky few actually got the presale code for six eras tour shows in toronto..

Taylor Swift fans in Canada were shocked — some even outraged — after presale codes were sent out Tuesday night for the star's Toronto shows.

Taylor Swift recently announced long-awaited shows in Canada for her Eras Tour , with six back-to-back shows in Toronto in November 2024. Three concerts are taking place from Nov. 14 to 16, and then three more between Nov. 21 and 23, at Rogers Centre.

The news came in the midst of her tour in the U.S., after fans felt she was snubbing Canada in the second round of show announcements.

Swift even got a call-out from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Twitter (errr.... X).

It’s me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon. — Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) July 6, 2023

Though there were mixed reactions over Swift only adding shows in Toronto, Canadian Swifties rushed to sign up for Ticketmaster's Verified Fans Onsale (presale) code access.

Codes were emailed out at 7 p.m. EST on Tuesday, but it seems only a lucky few actually got a code. The others? Waitlisted — and upset.

"Right now you are on the waitlist for your selected show. There won't be enough tickets for everyone who registered so a limited number of registered Verified Fans received a unique access code and others were placed on the waitlist," the waitlist email from Ticketmaster read.

"If any tickets remain, we may message you to join the Verified Fan Onsale."

Some fans took to X (aka Twitter) to share their frustration.

I’m not in my Taylor Swift Era… I’m in my Crying Era 😭😭💔💔🫠🫠 Anyone else not get a presale code?? #PreSaleCode #Toronto #taylorswift #WaitListed #CryingEra — Alyssa (@Alyssa__Bridge) August 9, 2023

I guess real fans won’t be seeing Taylor when she finally returns to Canada. 🙃🇨🇦 All this WAITING for Taylor to announce Canadian dates for NOTHING! Pretty heartbreaking. Some were upset that U.S. fans were buying tickets to the Toronto shows and getting codes, while Canadian fans weren't.

OKAY CUZ WHO EVEN GOT A TAYLOR SWIFT PRESALE CODE FOR TORONTO?? CUZ PEOPLE ACTUALLY FROM MF CANADA DIDNT GET AND I SEE ALL THESE AMERICANS WITH A CODE??? — KACE (@notthekace) August 8, 2023

i actually believe that all of the country got waitlisted at this point😭 — cait 🤍🤍 (@caitlynnek4) August 9, 2023

Others were begging those who did manage to get a code, to share it. Each code allows a person to purchase four tickets for their selected show.

if anyone who got a code and is only buying 2 tickets (for toronto) PLEASE HMU!!! Being the delulu i am ive already bought bracelet supplies and i’m HEARTBROKEN #torontocode #taylorswift #ticketmaster #erastour — isabella (@isabell24035341) August 9, 2023

Tickets for the first two Toronto dates, Nov. 14 and 15, go on presale Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET respectively.

Those who weren't given the chance to purchase these still may have a chance at snagging some on resale, though that has infamously come with exorbitant prices.

There always is, however, a chance for more dates to be added to the Eras Tour, which is as of now set to span over two years, ending in Toronto.

No luck getting Taylor Swift tickets in Toronto? You only had a one in about 400 chance

This article was published more than 6 months ago. Some information may no longer be current.

taylor swift eras tour canada presale

Taylor Swift performs at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., on May 26. JUTHARAT PINYODOONYACHET/The New York Times News Service

The chances of getting a ticket to see Taylor Swift ’s Eras Tour in Canada were always going to be slim. Immense hype and competition, platform changes to keep bots away, and the fact that many Canadians seem to continue to be spending meant the stakes were high.

To help you feel less bad about missing out on the show (and making sure those who got tickets know how lucky they are), we calculated the odds of getting an access code for Eras tickets in Toronto, based on The Globe and Mail’s Very Unofficial Math.

Let’s start with the Rogers Centre capacity. It’s about 40,000 to 50,000 for a concert, depending on the set-up. Considering capacity is 41,500 for a Blue Jays game, where there is no floor seating, we’ll imagine the Rogers Centre can hold 50,000 lucky people for an Eras show. Swift announced six Toronto performances, bringing the total number of tickets for her stint in Canada to an estimated 300,000.

And if Ticketmaster was giving access codes to registered Verified Fans, assuming each one buys all four of their allotted tickets, that means it would have sent out 75,000 emails with codes and passwords at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday August 8.

This estimate doesn’t consider the number of tickets saved for members of the Royal Bank of Canada’s loyalty rewards program , or any other program.

Eric Alper, a freelance music publicist, told Amanda Galbraith, guest host on iHeartRadio’s The Vassy Kapelos Show Wednesday that by one estimate, “31 million people submitted to get a wait-list code.”

If 75,000 emails went out, the chances of getting an access code by Alper’s estimate 1 in 413.

In another hypothetical scenario where we don’t know how many Verified Fan registrations there were, we can guess that since there are 32,859,326 Canadians above the age of 15, (Ticketmaster’s minimum age for creating an account is 13, and Statistics Canada releases information in five-year increments) your chances of getting an access code was 1 in 438. (Let’s also assume in this scenario no Americans tried to get Eras Tour tickets to Canadian shows, as the country got 53 of its own performances.)

If your social circle is 413 to 438-people wide, you likely know someone who got a code. Fewer friends than that and you might be out of luck.

You also have to consider the likelihood that fans registered for more than one presale code, with many using multiple e-mails, some even posting videos of excel spreadsheets tracking the registration process, as The Globe’s Stephanie Marotta reports .

If it makes you feel any better, the odds of getting an access code for the Eras Tour tickets were significantly better than the odds of winning Lotto 6/49′s Classic Jackpot, which are approximately 1 in 14 million.

How to get tickets to international shows on Taylor Swift’s 'Eras Tour'

The “Shake It Off” singer’s fan base infamously crashed Ticketmaster when they overcrowded the system while trying to buy tickets when they went live on Nov. 15, 2022. Since then, the platform has employed a new ticket purchasing process that has kept crashes at bay — so far.

The new purchasing multi-step process first requires pre-registration in order to be eligible for pre-sales and regular sales. However, pre-sales and registration are closed for all current international tour dates.

Fans who are interested in attending an international show can try purchasing tickets on reseller sites such as StubHub and SeatGeek.

All the Song Mashups Taylor Swift Has Played During the Eras Tour

F ive months into Taylor Swift’s wildly successful Eras Tour , after she’d brought the tour across the United States and to Mexico, she took the epic concert experience to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she switched up one of the most anticipated parts of her shows. Instead of singing two surprise songs that aren’t on the three-and-a-half-hour-long show’s expansive setlist toward the end of the performance, she began doing mashups of those surprise songs.

The first time around, she combined two 1989 (Taylor’s Version) songs: “Is It Over Now?” and “Out of the Woods.” Following a perhaps unsurprisingly positive reception, the singer has continued to do mashups while touring throughout Brazil, Japan, Australia, and Singapore.

As of March 14, the box-office juggernaut Eras Tour concert film is available to stream on Disney+. This version includes a number of songs that didn’t appear in the film's theatrical release or its VOD release in December, including “Cardigan,” “Maroon,” “Death By a Thousand Cuts,” “You Are In Love,” and “I Can See You.”

Here’s a guide to all of the mashups Swift has done of her surprise songs.

“Is It Over Now?” and “Out of the Woods” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version)

Taylor Swift performing an acoustic Out of the Woods and Is It Over Now? mash-up is so important. My two favorite 1989 era songs. 😭🙌 pic.twitter.com/gaKlyRX3PA — Alex Goldschmidt (@alexandergold) November 12, 2023

In the first mashup to be presented as one of Swift’s surprise songs, the pop star chose two songs from her latest re-release, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) . The album had just come out a few weeks prior, and she decided to surprise the audience with one of the new vault tracks and a fan favorite—both of which are rumored to be about her former relationship with singer Harry Styles . Theories from fans point to the same lyrics in each song that seem to hint at a snowmobile accident the two got into in 2012.

At her stop in Melbourne, Australia, on Feb. 17, Swift played “Getaway Car” off her 2017 album, Reputation (the next album that fans are theorizing will be released as part of her re-recording project). Swift first played the song in May during her New Jersey stop, where she brought out her collaborator, Jack Antonoff. The mashup took an interesting turn when she included the Folklore cut “August,” which is already on the original setlist, and then took another turn to include a song from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) called “Other Side of the Door.”

Swift busted out a deep cut from her Red (Taylor’s Version) album called “Come Back… Be Here” and mashed it up with “Daylight,” a song off of Lover —the first album in her discography that she retained the masters to when she signed her new record deal with Republic Records in 2018. It was during this third Melbourne show that she said she might repeat some surprise songs as the tour continues. “I want to be as creative as possible with the acoustic set moving forward, and I don’t want to limit anything or say, ‘Oh if I played this song, I can’t play it again,’” she said at the show . “So, from now on, I don’t want to take any paint colors out of the paintbox [or] tools out of the toolbox.”

Inclement weather during the Eras Tour’s first stop in in Sydney, Australia made it so Swift’s opener, Sabrina Carpenter, could not perform her set. Later, Swift brought out Carpenter to do a duet mashup of “White Horse” from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and “Coney Island” from Evermore . Carpenter took to Instagram to describe the moment she shared with Swift onstage. “9-year-old Sabrina singing white horse would never see this sh-t coming,” she wrote in the caption of the post.

The second Sydney night got two surprise song mashups. Swift performed “Should’ve Said No” from her debut self-titled album and mixed it with “You’re Not Sorry” from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) . The second set of surprise songs was “Peace” from Evermore and “New Year’s Day” from Reputation —which her fans believe will be the next re-release.

Swift stuck to her word and repeated a surprise song. She combined ”Is It Over Now?” with a different 1989 (Taylor’s Version) track, “I Wish You Would.” For the second portion of the surprise songs section, she performed the rock-heavy cut “Haunted” from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and her Bon Iver collaboration, “Exile” from Folklore .

Swift’s “Exile” performance led to a woman going viral after she posted her emotional reaction to hearing the song live, as she sat outside of the stadium with her friends. Though she became the butt of a joke, she told Rolling Stone , she said she was in on it. “I understand why people are laughing at it. I laughed at the video myself once I first watched it back,” she said.

The singer treated her fans to another two mashups for her final night in Sydney with the Fearless (Taylor’s Version) track “Forever & Always” and “Maroon” from Midnights . However, that wasn’t the only Midnights song she did. Later, the pop star mixed “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” with “Ivy” from Evermore .

The singer had a couple of days off before returning to the stage for a few dates in Singapore. At the first show on this leg, she sang a fan-favorite from Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) : “Mine” and combined it with “Starlight” from Red (Taylor’s Version) . That same night, she busted out the song she collaborated with Zayn Malik on the 50 Shades Darker soundtrack, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” and incorporated her Reputation song, “Dress,” into the mashup.

Before Swift got into the second mashup on the night (which was “Clean” from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and the title track from Evermore ), she shared “the final edition” of her forthcoming 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department . She said, “It’s the final cover … [and] there’s a song called "The Black Dog." I can’t wait for you to hear it, and I just appreciate the enthusiasm.” She posted the cover to Instagram.

Swift’s fourth Singapore show featured some of her most emotional songs. She sang Lover’s “Death By a Thousand Cuts” and “Babe” from Red (Taylor’s Version). On piano, the singer performed “Fifteen” from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and the most played surprise song, “You’re On Your Own Kid,” which she’s played five times, according to Us Weekly .

During another two mashup nights, Swift performed “Sparks Fly,” the second song on Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and “Gold Rush” off of Evermore on the guitar. The pop star then took to the piano to sing “False God” and “Slut!” to close out the surprise songs portion of the show.

At her last show on the Singapore leg, Swift opted for yet another two-mashup night. This was her last show before the tour picked up again in May in Europe. For the acoustic portion of the set, the singer did “Tim McGraw” from her self-titled debut album and “Cowboy Like Me,” a cut off of Evermore . She closed out the surprise songs portion on the piano and delivered a somber performance of two Folklore songs, “Mirrorball” and “Epiphany.”

Taylor Swift debuts ‘Tortured Poets’ songs live as Eras Tour resumes

Swift made some significant changes to the 3-hour-and-15-minute set when she kicked off the European leg of her record-shattering tour Thursday after a two-month break.

taylor swift eras tour canada presale

Taylor Swift’s record-shattering Eras Tour has essentially been a well-oiled, steady machine since it launched in March 2023 — she switched up a few songs on occasion, but mostly stuck to the same set list during the 3-hour-and-15-minute spectacle. And Swift’s loyal fan base has spent hours studying footage from around the world, with millions tuning in on fan-hosted live-streams to memorize every detail.

But on Thursday, Swift made some significant changes to the show for the first time as the tour kicked off its European leg at Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, France, for the first of four sold-out concerts. As many predicted, she debuted live performances of her songs from her 11th studio record, “The Tortured Poets Department,” a double album that contains 31 tracks and sold the equivalent of 2.61 million albums in its first week (combining physical sales and streams) when it dropped in mid-April .

🚨| Taylor Swift performing "Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?" on 'The Eras Tour'! #ParisTSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/O9FkuejQrN — The Eras Tour (@tswifterastour) May 9, 2024

“You are so present and it means the world to us as performers when you show up to a concert and when you act this way. … It makes us want to show you all kinds of fun surprises,” Swift, 34, told the extremely enthusiastic audience early in the night, calling the Eras Tour “the best experience of my life, honestly.”

The concert was live-streamed by fans on TikTok. One viewed by The Post featured a news ticker running at the bottom of the video with updates about the show: new outfits, new video screen visuals, a new order for some of the songs. Swift, who divides her set list into “eras” from her 18-year career, kicked off the “Tortured Poets” era about two hours into the concert with “But Daddy I Love Him” — a track that many interpret to be a message to her fan base about their, ah, extreme interest in her love life and the men she dates.

The Style section

“I’ll tell you something about my good name, it’s mine alone to disgrace,” Swift sang, running back and forth across the stage throughout. “… God save the most judgmental creeps who say they want what’s best for me, sanctimoniously performing soliloquies I’ll never see.” At the end, she sat down with her dancers and added a verse from “So High School” with lines that include “You know how to ball; I know Aristotle” — thought to be a reference to her boyfriend , the very famous football player Travis Kelce. (Swift did not sit for any interviews about the album and has provided very little detail for the ideas behind the lyrics.)

Even if they were being scolded, the fans loved it. The ecstatic screaming and cheering continued in the audience as Swift continued through “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?,” which appears to detail the downsides of fame, along with breakup anthems “Down Bad” and “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” along with her new single with Post Malone, “Fortnight.” Swift added all kinds of new dance routines and set pieces, including one that made it look as if she were levitating across the stage.

And she performed a brief play before “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” an upbeat track about how she was able to perform on the Eras Tour even through heartbreak. Two magicians dragged her lifeless body to another part of the stage where they “forced” her to change into another sparkly outfit as she rolled her eyes and reluctantly got ready to dance.

“So you were the first crowd ever to see ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ chapter of the Eras Tour!” Swift said cheerfully during the next set where she played a couple of surprise acoustic songs. “Or as I like to call it, ‘Female Rage: The Musical.’”

Otherwise, many chapters of the show stayed the same. Though some wondered whether Swift would simply extend the concert to four hours, she cut six songs overall and condensed the “Folklore” and “Evermore” eras into one, explaining that she considers them “sister albums” because she recorded them during the same year early in the pandemic.

“I’ve always thought ‘Folklore’ to me represents spring and summer and ‘Evermore’ represents fall and winter. So on the Eras Tour, we have now reunited the sisters and combined them into one chapter,” she said. She wrapped up the concert with “Karma” a little after 11 p.m. Paris time after running through 45 songs, and thanked her dancers and band for learning all the new material.

The European leg of the Eras Tour will run through mid-August, and the tour will resume in the United States and Canada in the fall.
