Bharatpur - A City in Chitwan District
Bharatpur is a city in Nepal's central-southern region. In the Chitwan District, Bharatpur is the district headquarters and a distinct Metropolitan authority and is Nepal's fifth biggest city, with 199,867 people (census 2011).
Bharatpur is one of Nepal's fastest-growing cities. On December 2, 2014, the government designated Bharatpur as a Sub-Metropolitan City, which included numerous local village development committees such as Gitanagar, Fulbari, Sibanagar, Mangalpur, and Patihani.
Introduction to Bharatpur City
Bharatpur is a commercial centre for the Chitwan district and Nepal's central area, located on the left bank of the Narayani River. It lies at the crossroads of the Mahendra Highway and the Kathmandu-Birganj (North-South) road corridor. Its closeness has enhanced the importance of this city's favourable geographical location to Kathmandu (146 km), Pokhara (126 km), Butwal (114 km), Ghorahi (275 km), Birgunj (128 km), Hetauda (78 km), and Prithivinarayan (Gorkha) (67 km). Bharatpur offers a daily air connection to Kathmandu and Pokhara, in addition to solid road access.
The majority of the retail district is in Narayangadh. Still, government offices, large hospitals, and colleges, notably Nepal's leading cancer hospital, B.P Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital, are in other city sections. Bharatpur's economy has historically been focused on agriculture.
Agricultural land is progressively being transformed into residential and industrial zones. Bharatpur's primary industry is small-scale processing businesses. The municipality has established a considerable number of poultry industries. It is estimated that it meets more than 60% of the country's overall chicken demand.
Furthermore, this metropolis produces a significant amount of chicken goods for export. Honey, mushrooms, floriculture, and the service industry are some of the city's other goods (education and health). Food surpluses from Chitwan are processed at Bharatpur and sold to major cities across the country, including Kathmandu and Pokhara.
In addition, global corporations like Coca-Cola and San Miguel are located in the city. The city of Bharatpur is home to a significant number of businesses and trade houses. Major corporations from around the country have set up shops in the town. Because of its central location and proximity to the Bharatpur crossroads have expanded its wholesale and retail trading operations.
Transportation of Bharatpur City
Bharatpur Airport is located in the city's centre and connects to Kathmandu. Seven to eleven flights per day are operated by four domestic carriers and one government airline. The town is connected to various areas of the nation by the Mahendra Route. Another highway connects Bharatpur to Kathmandu in the northeast and Birgunj (Birganj) on the Indian border in the south.
Out of town, buses, microbuses, taxis, rickshaws, and car/jeep rentals are available; within the city, city buses, city microbuses, taxis, rickshaws, and car/jeep rentals are available. At important road intersections, Hakim Chok and Chaubiskothi, Shahid (martyrs) Chok, Pul (Bridge) Chok, Bel Chok, and Lila Chok are prominent centres.

Chitwan National Park
One-horned rhinoceros, elephants, royal Bengal tigers, crocodiles, deers, and other wild creatures may be seen in the nearby Chitwan National Park.
Majestic Tiger Roams Its Kingdom
After Kathmandu and Pokhara, it is Nepal's third most popular tourist destination. Hotels in Bharatpur, Nepal and the surrounding areas. Since 2041 B.S., it has also been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

In the south of Bharatpur, the Rapti River flows east to west and forms the northern border of the Chitwan National Park. We discovered a gharial crocodile and the largest fish in the Rapti River.
Temples in Bharatpur
There are several temples in and around Bharatpur, which are:
Devghat, located in Ward No. 1 on the Narayani and Kali river confluence banks, is Hinduism's holiest site. Several caves and temples dedicated to Hindu Gods and Goddesses may be found here. Because of the two main and sacred rivers, Devghat has a very stunning natural appeal. Bharatpur's city centre is about 7 kilometres away.
Bageshwari Temple
This temple, likewise in Ward 2, is an ancient one that yogi Narahari Nath restored. It is thought to have been established before Muni Makunda Sen. Although it is located in the Devghat area development district, Bharatpur medical college uses the territory of Bageshwari temple.
Ganesthan Temple
It is Bharatpur's most famous Hindu temple and has a lengthy history. The original temple was built in the 15th century by Muni Makunda Sen, King of Palpa, while the contemporary temple was built in 1952 under the reign of King Mahendra.
This temple may be found in Ward 11 of Baseni. Every Tuesday, people from all around the city come to worship Lord Ganesh at this temple.

Rameshwar Temple
This Mahadev temple, which was erected in 1994 and is the city's busiest, also serves the public through a health post.
Forts and Palaces in Chitwan
Below we have also enlisted the forts and palaces found in Bharatpur. They are:
Upardanghari Fort
Diyalo bangala palace, kasrra durbar.
This fort in Bharatpur is said to have been erected by Satrubhanjan Shah, son of Prince Bahadur Shah, to protect the newly established Kingdom in the 17th century. It is located near the historic seat of the Chitwan district. It's perched on a hill with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside.
The Shaha Dynasty of Nepal used this palace during the spring season. The late king Mahendra erected this palace to relax during the winter season. It is situated in Ward No. 2 on the banks of the Narayani River.
