Visitors to the UAE can now come to the country on a three-month visa, Khaleej Times can reveal.

A call centre executive at the Federal Authority For Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP) said that people who want to visit the UAE for 90 days can make use of the opportunity. “They should consult their travel agents who will help them in issuing the 90-days visit visa,” said the call centre executive.

According to industry experts, this visa was introduced by the end of May 2023, allowing visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days. The visa can be extendable within the country at an additional cost based on the service provider.

Residents are not aware of this three-month visa, Libin Varghese, sales director at Rooh Tourism LLC, said.

According to industry experts, this was reintroduced by the end of May 2023, allowing visitors to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days.

Different types of entry permits

“There are two types of entry permits — a tourist visa or a leisure visa and a visit visa. A tourist visa is issued for 30 or 60 days. The visit visa is issued for 90 days,” said Subair Thekepurathvalappil, senior manager for inbound and outbound operations at Regal Tours Worldwide, adding that this extended visit visa complements the existing tourist visa options, which includes a 30-day or 60-day stay, offering travellers greater flexibility in planning their itineraries.

The 30-day and the recently introduced 60-day tourist visas have long been popular among visitors seeking shorter stays in the UAE, providing ample time to explore the country's iconic landmarks and indulge in world-class shopping and dining experiences.

Who can apply?

Industry experts said that anyone can apply for this visa. “Currently, we have not received much inquiry about it, and visitors who prefer this entry permit are their family members residing in the UAE, as they want to spend a longer time. Take for instance, if a child who is studying in his home country visits UAE during vacations or parents of a resident,” said Varghese.

The fee for a 90-day-visit visa varies depending on your issuing travel expert, with a starting price of Dh1,500 and can go up to Dh2,000, which can even be extended within the country. “The exact details of extension has not been announced as the visa was introduced a few days ago,” said Varghese.

Documents required

According to Subair, one must submit the following documents if planning to apply for the long term visit visa:

  • Recent passport-size coloured photograph
  • Passport copy
  • Processing time

“Once a person applies for this visa, it may take up to five working days. But we can even receive it in two days,” said Subair.

dubai visit visa fees for 3 months

Knowing the UAE 3 months visit visa price will help you determine which one you need for your trip. This is because you can choose between a visa single entry or multiple entry. In any case, you must comply with the requirements and submit the necessary documentation to the authorities.

In this article, we will show you what the UAE 3-month visa is and what the application process is like. Likewise, you will know the differences relevant to the two types of visit visas that you can acquire and their price.

UAE 3 Months Visit Visa Price: Breakdown of Costs and Charges

uae 3 months visit visa price

Before knowing the UAE 3 months visit visa price, we will explain in detail what it is about. In this case, the 3-month Emirates visa or long-term visit visa is a tourist visa to spend 90 days in the country. Therefore, it is a very common visa for those traveling to the UAE for pleasure, vacation, or to visit friends or family.

However, the authorities did not design this type of visa for those who wish to work or study in the country. Therefore, people who wish to carry out the aforementioned activities must obtain the appropriate visa. Additionally, you have 2 UAE 3-month visa options, single entry, and multiple entries.

There are small differences between each of them, which we will explain later. For the tourist visa, you will not need a sponsor to obtain it, just pay the UAE visit visa price. Nevertheless, for a visa to visit family or friends, you will need the sponsorship of a resident of the Emirates.

In this case, it is your family member or friend who must apply for the sight visa on one of the official websites of the Emirati authorities. On the other hand, if you need a tourist visa, you can apply for it yourself through the different means.

Standard Processing Price of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

As we mentioned previously, you can opt for two types of visit visa, single entry or multiple entry. In any case, the UAE 3 months visit visa price is as follows:

  • For the 3-month single entry visit visa, the cost you will have to cover is AED 600 but it is not extendable.
  • For the 3-month multiple entry visit visa, the cost you will need to cover is AED 1,740 but it is not extendable.

Thus, since the Dubai visit visa price varies depending on the type, you should carefully analyze which one you need.

Medical Insurance of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

You cannot purchase health insurance in the Emirates with a visit visa of any type, including a 3-month visa. However, you can purchase travel insurance that has medical coverage with your tourist visa or visit to the country. This insurance is for visitors from various countries, for which you must present the documentation along with the visa application.

Nevertheless, this type of insurance does not entitle you to free medical care during your trip to the UAE. Still, through the said insurance, you will not have to spend more in case of an emergency. Additionally, you may be covered for medical expenses up to AED 150,000, although certain accidents and illnesses are excluded.

On the other hand, the cost of insurance varies according to certain conditions, among which are:

  • Duration of stay in the country
  • Insurance coverage
  • The moment of purchase
  • Number of people included in the package

However, the cost can be between 4% and 10% of the total trip, including the Dubai visit visa price 3 month.

Airport Security Price of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

At UAE airports there is no extra fee for single or multiple entry visas. Therefore, you will only have to pay the UAE 3 months visit visa price to get some from them.

Additional Charges of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

There are no extra charges for this type of visa but you cannot exceed the legal stay established. If you stay in the UAE beyond the time set for your visa type, you will have to pay AED 50 for each day. Moreover, you will have to pay AED 200-350 for the mandatory exit pass to travel outside the country legally.

How long does it take to get the 3 Month Dubai Visa

Despite being a long-term visa, the process covers the standard processing time of other visas . In this case, the waiting time from the request to obtaining it is between 2 and 3 days. However, some authorized centers may offer express visas, which are more expensive but you can obtain it in between 4 and 8 hours.

Nonetheless, there are fraudulent agencies that take advantage of people who want to travel to the country and offer illegal visas. Therefore, be sure to check the legality of the agencies that offer avenues so as not to go through an unpleasant process.

Extension Process: Requirements and Procedures for UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

In the UAE it is possible to extend any type of visa for the time established by the authorities of the nation. For 3-month visit visas, you can extend it for an additional 30 days by paying the extension fee. That is, apart from the UAE 3 months visit visa price, you will have to pay AED 600 if you want to extend it.

Eligibility for UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

Any citizen with the nationality of one of the permitted countries can obtain a 3-month visit visa. However, you must present the documentation that we will detail below:

  • Recent photograph 43×55 mm in size (in certain cases it can be 2”x2” or 50×50 mm)
  • Passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Color copy of the applicant with all legible data
  • Copy of round-trip plane tickets

However, if the visa is for a family member, you must present the following documentation:

  • Copy of Emirates ID of the sponsor
  • Proof of residence of the applicant
  • Relationship proof

Reasons for rejection

Despite submitting the documentation and paying the UAE 3 months visit visa price, they may reject your application. Some of the reasons why this situation occurs are the following:

  • Women under 22 years of age travel without their parents, guardians, or husbands.
  • People without formal professional training.
  • For those who have handwritten passports, as is the case with certain nationalities.
  • Applicants with criminal records, who have committed fraud, or who have engaged in inappropriate conduct in the UAE.
  • The application form includes false information about the candidate.
  • Errors in any data entered in the form (for example, error in the passport number).
  • People who already have an approved visa to travel to the UAE but have not yet done so
  • A person who obtained a work visa but did not enter the UAE.
  • A person who resided in the country at some point but left without properly canceling their visa.

Application Process for UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

There are 3 ways to apply for a 3-month visit visa to the UAE, on the GDRFA website or mobile app, or at an AMER centre. In the first two cases, the procedure is as we will describe it below:

  • If you are applying for the first time, register on the website.
  • Then select single or multiple entry visa application service for a 3-month visit visa.
  • Fill out all information correctly and submit the required documents.
  • Pay the UAE visit visa price.
  • Finally, submit the application.

If you fill out the form correctly, send the necessary documents, and pay the fee, you just have to wait for approval.

Application at an Amer center

There is the possibility of submitting the 90-day visa application in person through one of the AMER centers. The procedure is the next:

  • Go to the AMER center most convenient for you.
  • At the reception, you must apply for the long-term visit visa service.
  • Submit the necessary documents.
  • Pay the UAE 3 months visit visa price.
  • Submit your request.

If approved, you will receive a notification to the email address you provided with your visa application. However, if you are missing any documents, you will have a maximum of 30 days to submit those requested again. Therefore, if you do not provide the said documents, they will automatically cancel your application and you will have to apply from the beginning.

Nevertheless, this method is only valid if the applicant comes in person, so it cannot be done by a third party or a travel agency.

Fees and Charges for UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

As we mentioned earlier, the Dubai visit visa price is AED 600 for single entry and AED 1,740 for multiple entries. Additionally, if the visa is for a family member, the cost is AED 1,750, including a refundable deposit of AED 1,000. However, you must consider the period of stay allowed so as not to incur extra fines and charges for your trip.

Hence, before your visa period ends, you must extend it or leave the country to avoid overstaying.

Single Entry vs. Multiple Entries: Differences and Benefits of UAE 3 Months Visit Visa

There are 2 categories of UAE 3-month visa, single entry and multiple entries. Furthermore, in either case, you can request them through official online services, or authorized agencies. Next, we will show you the main characteristics of each one so that you can determine the one that best suits you:

Single Entry Visit Visa

The single entry visa is a document that allows the bearer to enter the UAE once for a specific period. Therefore, with the 3-month single entry visa, you will be able to stay this time without difficulties, even if only once. This is because when you leave the country, the visa automatically loses its validity and you will have to apply for one again.

Additionally, single-entry visas are commonly for short-term visits, which in this case, is for tourism purposes. Likewise, it is for those who wish to visit without the intention of leaving and re-entering the UAE.

Multiple Entry Visit Visa

3-month multiple-entry visas allow holders to enter and leave the country for the duration of the permitted stay. This means that, unlike the single entry visa, it is still valid when leaving the UAE. In this way, the bearer can leave and enter as many times as necessary before the document expires.

Therefore, this type of visa is suitable for those who travel frequently or want to visit neighboring countries and return to the Emirates. However, they must respect the duration of the visa, because if they leave the country and the visa expires, they cannot enter again. Yet, unlike single-entry, multi-entry is more flexible.

Therefore, this type of 3-month UAE visa is appropriate for those visiting relatives or if you want to visit other regions while focusing your stay in the country.

Comparing Single and Multiple Entry Visas of UAE 3 Months Visit

When you pay the Dubai visit visa price 3 month, you can choose between multiple or single entry. However, it will depend on your preferences or travel needs, since, as you have seen, each one has its particularities. Below, we will show you the subtle differences between each one so you can choose the one that best suits you.

Travel Frequency

You should consider the frequency of your travel, as this will determine what type of visa you need. In this sense, if you need to make a one-time trip, this type of visa is for you. In contrast, if you need to come and go during the 3-month duration, choose multiple entries.

Another thing you need to consider is the UAE 3 months visit visa price at the time of selection. As we have informed you, the cost of the multiple entry visas is higher than that of the single entry document. Thus, if you are on a tight budget, adjust your travel itinerary so you can cover the cost and have the most suitable visa.

Flexibility

That is the most outstanding aspect since the flexibility of both visas is the most notable difference apart from the price. If you need to leave and enter several times according to your needs, you can only obtain it through a multiple-entry visa.

They will be able to extend the pre-entry validity of visas as well as the visit visas for family and friends for a total of 90 days on a single trip or multiple trips. However, individuals with tourist visas must leave and re-enter the nation in order to renew their documents in time for the expiration date.

Salary criteria for sponsoring the 3-month visit visa

The sponsoring UAE resident must meet the salary requirement. The minimum salary requirement is Dh4,000 or Dh3,000 plus housing.

Cancellation and extension of unused 3-month visas

All foreign visitors to the UAE, including those from Bangladesh, must now either cancel or extend their unused visit visas. Travellers can apply for a 60-day extension of the validity period of their 3-month visas if they are unable to enter the UAE within that time for whatever reason. This will cost AED 200 and needs to be done through the immigration portal. Travellers who have not yet used their 3-month visa must cancel it through the immigration portal if they do not want it extended. Older visa requests are no longer automatically deleted by the immigration system; instead, the applicant must request them. Therefore, visitors will not be able to apply for a new UAE visit visa unless the old, unused visa is cancelled. Travel agents claim that the cost of cancelling a visitor visa to the UAE can range from AED 160 to AED 300.

UAE residents can now apply for 3-month visit visa for family and friends

UAE residents can now apply for 3-month visit visa for family and friends

Here are all the details on how and where to apply for the papers, the total cost of the service

Dubai residents who want to host their friends or family in the country can now get a 3-month visit visa, according to residents and travel agencies. The host is required to pay a refundable deposit of Dh1,000 for this visa.

KV, who works as a PRO for a Dubai-based company, said that he has secured these visas for his company employees.

“I have applied for this visa for family members of two of my colleagues in the last month,”
“I approached the AMER centre in Karama near the post office, and the process was easy. However, as per my experience, the family members must be immediate blood relatives like mother, father or siblings.”

According to him, the total cost of the service was Dh1,770 .

“The deposit was Dh1,000, and the visa with typing charges and service fee cost Dh770,”

In October 2022, sweeping reforms were made to entry visas in the UAE as part of the Advanced Visa System. It introduced one of the largest residency and entry permit reforms in the UAE to date.

However, according to travel agencies in the country, they are unable to apply for these visas in their systems.

“As of now, only individuals applying on the system can get these visas,”

said Afi Ahmed from Smart Travels.

“The individuals must apply for it online on the GDRFA website, on the app or through an Amer typing centre.”

On the GDRFA website, users can also apply for entry permits for business or job opportunities, entry permits for those awaiting their Green Visas, as well as a patient escort permit, among others.

Dubai resident Mohammed said he had applied for a visa for his mother to travel to the city.

“Initially, I planned to apply for a 60-day visit visa through a travel agency,”
“But when I heard of the 90-day visa, I applied for it through an Amer centre. It was a very easy process.”

As part of the advanced visa services, an array of new entry permits was introduced. Some of them included a job exploration entry visa, one for business entry, a five-year multi-entry tourist visa, one to seek medical treatment, for temporary work, and for studies and training.

Last week, UAE's Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced the implementation of a new package of updates to improve the services provided to citizens, residents, and visitors through its smart services system.

The ICA has adopted a list of 15 services that were updated in its smart services system as of February 1, 2023 .

Want to move to Europe? Here are all the countries where you can apply for a digital nomad visa

Across Europe, countries are capitalising on remote workers by offering digital nomad visas.

All the remote work visas currently available in Europe, including length of stay, application fees and income requirements.

Across Europe, countries are capitalising on remote work by offering digital nomad visas.

Since the pandemic, many of us have enjoyed the freedom to work from anywhere.

Recognising the potential to boost their flagging tourism industries, countries from Croatia to Spain are making it easier to gain temporary residency while working for a foreign company.

Not only does this help fill the low-season gaps in tourism-reliant destinations, it offers non-EU citizens the peace of mind and the chance to legally work remotely.

Digital nomad visas help host countries combat other problems, too, from brain drain to ageing populations.

If you’re looking to move to Europe, work remotely, and gain the right to travel in the Schengen Area, a  digital nomad visa could be just the ticket.

Here’s a comparison of the remote work visas currently - or soon to be - available in Europe, including length of stay , application fees and income requirements.

Some have been specifically designed for remote workers while others are previously existing visas that have been adapted to people who want to work while travelling.

What digital nomad visas are available in Europe?

Albania: for stunning nature and low cost of living.

Visa length: One year, with possibility to renew for up to five years

Application fee:  Based on reciprocity

Income requirement: Estimated €9,800/year

Digital nomads can apply for an Albanian residence permit that allows them to stay and work there for up to one year. Introduced at the start of 2022, the so-called 'Unique Permit' can be renewed up to five times in a row.

Remote workers must show proof of an employment contract for a company outside of the country that allows them to work remotely, as well as relevant qualifications. They must also have a local bank account, housing contract, health insurance and clean criminal record, as well as proof of funds to support themselves.

Croatia: For sunshine undamped by tax woes

Visa length: One year, with possibility to renew

Application fee: Around €60

Income requirement: Around €2,500/month

Croatia launched its one-year residence permit for digital nomads in 2021. The scheme is open to non-EU/EEA citizens working in ‘communication technology’ - either through their own company registered abroad or as a remote employee for a company outside Croatia.

Provided they don't require a tourist visa to enter Croatia, remote workers can apply for a one-year residence permit after arrival. Close family members can also apply for temporary residence.

Remote workers are currently not subject to income tax in Croatia.

Remote workers can apply for a long-term business or freelance licence in the Czech Republic. Colloquially known as the ‘zivno’ visa (short for Zivnostenske opravneni or trade authorisation), it is intended for non-EU citizens who freelance or run their own business.

Visa length: One year, with possibility to extend by six months

Application fee: €100

Income requirement: €4,500/month

Estonia launched its digital nomad visa in summer 2020. It lets people working remotely for companies abroad - or freelancers with clients mostly abroad - stay in Estonia for up to one year at a time. You can apply for an additional six-month visa after your initial one expires.

Applicants must have earned at least €3,500 net per month in the six months preceding their application.

If you remain in Estonia for more than half a year, you will gain tax residency and be subject to local taxes.

The country also offers ‘e-residency’, which grants remote entrepreneurs digital access to Estonia’s e-services without providing residency. This can be used to run a company online, access banking, and declare taxes in Estonia without actually living there.

Visa length: One year

Application fee: €300

Income requirement: €2,700/month

Malta ’s Nomad Residence Permit is for remote workers and freelancers who work for companies outside the country. The one-year permit is open to non-EU nationals.

Originally, nomads were told they would be granted a tax exemption so long as they continued paying taxes back home. However, there have been legal complications with this promise that are currently being resolved.

Want to make Malta your more permanent home? A new Startup Residence Scheme announced in 2023 grants a three-year residence permit to third-country nationals who make an investment of at least €25,000 in the country. If the business is successful, this can be extended for a further five years and could eventually lead to long-term residency.

The new scheme is an alternative to the existing ‘D7’ visa, which is aimed at retirees and ‘passive income’ earners.

You must show proof of health insurance of the duration of your stay. If you bring a spouse or children with you, the minimum income requirement increases or you must show a set level of savings in your bank account.
