The lack of light pollution at night time is another wonderful aspect of countryside living. Being able to gaze up at the beautiful stars on a clear evening is a magical experience, something I definitely wouldn’t trade.”

Ellis explores aspects of rural living based on her own childhood in Suffolk, England. She remembers the inconveniences she experienced and, in contrast, recalls the peace and beauty she observed in the countryside and the lessons she learned there. She ultimately concludes that after having lived in both the country and the city, she would not trade the life of her childhood; however, she would also be comfortable in a small village with some semblance of urban living.

The morning coffee, being outside under a warm blue sky, hanging out with loved ones after dinner, a beautiful view, having a good laugh, sleeping in on a rainy day. This reflection is author Carol Padua Montero’s retelling of the time that she and her partner Neil visited her childhood home in Aurora province in the Philippines. She recalls their activities, their food, and the simple joys of being with family and nature. She emphasizes the easygoing manner of provincial Filipinos: despite not having as much, they live a happy life. 

“On our 300-cow dairy, we are in full swing chopping and baling hay, which means long days full of fieldwork and scrambling to fit chores and milking in between sun-up and sun-down. One of the best parts? Watching my nieces and nephews soak in all the craziness in the most innocent of ways. Their disbelief at how tall the corn is, how massive the pile of silage gets, or how much a calf’s tongue tickles as it licks them reminds me just how amazing our job is.”

Molly Schmitt describes her life as a farmer and as a “farm kid” in the countryside, where she has spent her whole life. She details her daily routine with her family and her children, but the most dominant part of her essay is about her own childhood. She recalls ten childhood memories that she cherishes dearly, involving family, food, and, of course, the farm. 

“There is a beautiful sandy beach on your doorstep, replete with endless rockpools. And all you have to do is to fling open the front door and walk for five minutes, and you’re on top of a cliff, with 180-degree views of the sea, salt wind in your face.”

Ley’s reflection on country life is quite introspective, as she remembers her life by the sea as a child, particularly the house she was raised in. She remembers how she felt in the serene, idyllic setting, exploring both the highs and lows of living there. But she comes to feel conflicted over the house as her mother considers selling it. She ultimately resigns to the idea of having to let go of that house after so many years, teaching us all a lesson about moving on.

Introduction:

A visit to countryside is a unique and wonderful experience. My friend from college hails from a small countryside village located at the heart of the state.

During the last summer vacation, I had an opportunity to visit my friend in his village.

I packed up my belongings and boarded the bus bound for the village. The bus journey was for a painful six hours and thereafter I had to walk a mile by foot to reach the destination.

Pleasant Countryside Environment:

It was a wonderful experience to walk in the natural surroundings. The air was pure and fresh. I was walking in the middle of huge tracts of corn-fields of gram and wheat. One could spot mustard fields in distance where the yellow flowers waved in the breeze. It looked like beautiful scenery straight out of a postcard. There were very tall trees at small distances from each other. The birds which had built their nests on those trees were chirping. There was absence of the regular noises of motor vehicles, which was very soothing.

After walking for quite some distance, I noticed a light yellow house just near the pond. I could easily recognize it from the photograph which my friend had sent me. HE was standing in the verandah of his house and spotted me from a distance. We greeted each other and he introduced me to his parents and grandparents. They had a joint family and lived in a huge ancestral house.

As I was tired from my journey, my friend’s mother offered me food. The food that I had was very simple. It was a welcome change to see that there was no kind of formality of any kind. After having food, I went to sleep on the cot which was prepared for me.

A Visit to the Village:

I woke up very early in the morning to witness the sun rise. It was a very pleasant morning. After having a breakfast of milk and toast, we headed out to visit the village. The sugarcane fields encompassed quite many a miles as we walked. I saw a group of people preparing ‘gur’, a delicacy. Farmers were watering their fields and the women were providing the cattle with chaff.

People were also drawing water from the wells. Near the village tank, the women were washing clothes and many clothes were hung to dry. It was a joyful sight to see the village-urchins bathing near the tank while splashing water at each other. We came back home after a long walk.

Conclusion:

I stayed in the countryside village for almost a week and returned home with many joyful memories of the country life. The farewell given to me was emotional. It was a very touching moment for me. I was asked to visit the village again to which I readily agreed. It was a wonderful journey and visit to the countryside.

I glanced out of the window impatiently, fidgeting my fingers. The only sound in the vehicle was the jazz coming from the speakers. Dad said it helped him cool his nerves, but it simply made time slow down. The long and tedious journey from the city interior to the outskirts was a grueling 4-hour drive. Ronny, who always cherished the chance to nod off, had long since fallen asleep on my mother’s lap. His gentle snores occasionally broke the spell upon me.

My stomach growled, as I stole a glance towards my watch. It couldn’t be long now. As if on cue, the car took a steep left turn, and I recognized the sight almost immediately. It was my maternal grandfather’s farm: a majestic 200-acre ranch, that stretched across the beautiful countryside. My gloomy mood shifted in an instant. The first view of the farm was truly worth the wait.

The car slowed down, as my mother gently stirred Ronny awake. My maternal grandparents were outside to greet us, their faces beaming. We got out of the car, as my family reunited after a long period. Danny the sheep-dog barked excitedly upon seeing us, and raced across the ranch to greet us.

By now, evening had set in. I was eager to take a round of the farm, and explore its many inhabitants, but Grandmother was insistent that we were exhausted, and that there would be plenty of time the next day. I took a breath of the fresh, countryside air. We went inside, and ate dinner: fresh vegetables from the farm. My mother remarked that such crops were the most nutritious products nature could offer us. I nodded my head in agreement. Me and Ronny were sleeping together in the upper room. I lay awake, my mind whirring with excitement, but Ronny was out cold. I was once more subject to his incessant snores. I do not know exactly when I dozed off at last, but I slept in, and was woken up by my brother.

The first thing we did after a quick breakfast was a tour of the farm. Having grown up visiting it, I expected to know every nook and cranny, but to my surprise, many things had changed. The hens had had chicks, the cows had given birth to adorable calves, and the horses to young foals.

I could have stayed out there forever, but was brought back to reality by Grandmother’s call to have lunch. While we ate, Grandfather told us about a beautiful lake nearby, one which he and my mother routinely visited in her childhood. Ronny and I wanted to see the lake for ourselves, and spent the afternoon on a boating trip. Grandfather had taken out his old row-boat, as me and Ronny had a ball of a time with the paddles.

Time flew, as we spent the rest of our days on the farm, visiting the lake, witnessing the creatures for hours at end, and even paying a visit to a scenic hill nearby. It felt good to get away from the hustle-and-bustle of the busy city, and instead enjoy the tranquil countryside.

On the last day of our visit to the countryside, we bid goodbye to our grandparents and promised to return in our next vacation. As the car pulled away from the farm, I spotted in the rear-view mirror, our grandparents waving goodbye. I smiled. The trip back home, unlike the first one, was spent with me fondly revisiting the memories we had made on this trip. It had most certainly been a brilliant one.

My family lives in Hanoi, but my mother is originally from the Central region, with roots in Hue. Every year, our family only visits the countryside once or twice, but each visit is always joyful.

I remember it was in fourth grade, on the occasion of my late grandfather's death anniversary, my mother and I arranged to visit the countryside. It took us over 6 hours by coach to reach Hue, and despite the fatigue, the warm welcome from everyone made both me and my mother forget about the exhaustion.

Everyone gathered to prepare a meal and catch up after a long time apart. There were stories about distant relatives, about the neighbor's plans, and even discussions about the future plans of the children in the family.

After dinner, my mother and I took a stroll around the streets. Hue, as always when I visit, seemed to carry a sense of contemplation, as if bearing some hidden sorrow. The trees began to shed their golden leaves, scattering them on the enchanting streets. Trang Tien Bridge stood gracefully over the Perfume River on a tranquil late autumn evening. The river, like a Hue lady, was gentle, serene, and alluring. Its gentle ripples caressed the banks, evoking an indescribable longing. We visited Phu Xuan bookstore, bustling with people yet strangely quiet, with only the occasional sound of flipping pages breaking the silence. The impressive thing here perhaps was the elegance and refinement of our homeland's people.

My mother and I returned to my grandmother's house as the evening began to fall. Dinner was already prepared, with all our favorite dishes meticulously crafted by my grandmother and aunt. It felt like a gift for us. Afterwards, we gathered around the warm TV, and I nestled into my grandmother's embrace, holding her frail hands, feeling immense love for her. I said to her, 'Granny, you should come to Hanoi and visit me sometime.' She chuckled gently and looked at me lovingly, saying,

After nine months of diligent study, we finally have our summer break. When summer arrives, my parents often take me to water parks or zoos. But what I love most is visiting my grandparents in the countryside.

As usual, at the beginning of summer, my family spends about 3 to 4 days together in the countryside. It's beautiful there. Driving on the rocky dirt road, looking out of the car window, I see vast green rice fields stretching into the distance. In the distance, some cows are grazing peacefully. A few boys are chasing each other to catch the kite soaring high in the vast blue sky. Occasionally, a flock of birds races through the sky.

My grandparents' house is located on a small road, inaccessible by car. Their house has a red-tiled roof, adorned with the ancient mossy charm. In front of the house is a small garden where they grow vegetables and raise chickens. Next to it is a pond full of fish. When they see me and my parents arrive, they are very excited. Grandpa hugs me tightly and then takes me to the garden to play before grabbing a fishing rod and teaching me how to fish. We chat animatedly, with Grandpa asking about my studies and sharing many stories with me. Seeing us having a good time, Grandma takes my parents inside to prepare tea.

In the evening, Grandma and Mom prepare a 'garden home-cooked meal': braised fish, boiled meat, and sour soup - all made from vegetables and meat raised in the garden pond. Perhaps that's why the meal tastes so delicious to me. After dinner, I lie on the hammock in the garden and fall asleep without even realizing it.

As time flies by and it's time for my parents to go back to work and for me to prepare for the new school year. Before we part ways, Grandpa gives me his fishing rod and says, 'Whenever you're free, come back here and play with me.'

Last Sunday, I went with my parents to visit my grandmother in the countryside. It's a place with lush green rice fields, just the smell alone makes it incredibly refreshing.

After a period of exhausting exams, I finally got to unwind. The countryside is where I always look forward to visiting. I miss my grandmother, my cousins, and relatives there.

My grandmother's village is a peaceful, tranquil place, unlike the hustle and bustle of Hanoi city. Throughout the journey, I was always eager and excited. It's been a long time since I last visited my grandmother. Along the way to her house, the rice fields on both sides were lush green, with the fragrance of ripening rice in the air! In the following days, Thuan and Hoa took their 'Kinh ethnic guests' to admire the scenery of Bon Dong, visiting some of Thuan and Hoa's friends' families. Each household they visited was elegant and spacious, and my siblings were warmly welcomed and treated with hospitality. The highlight was wading in streams and hiking along the Son Tinh trail.

In present times, people tend to make difficult choices between city and a countryside. Sometimes, it is rather difficult to make this very choice. This essay is aimed on showing my attitude to both of the options and making a choice.

Both living in a city or a countryside has its own advantages and disadvantages. However, every person is willing to make one’s own decision. In my opinion, living in a city is much better than living in a countryside. Living in a city means that a person will be in the center of cultural events: there are art galleries, cinema and concert halls, and theatres. Moreover, people can visit zoos, go skating or skiing whenever they want. On the contrary, in a countryside a person do not have any opportunity for entertainment except for having a walk or staying home. Some may say that it is much better, a person has the opportunity to mediate and unite mentally with the nature. However, in my opinion, it is boring to leave alone in a countryside and not to have the opportunity to go out with friends and self develop when visiting galleries or theatres.

Another reason why I choose living in a city is that there are more possibilities to find job. Most of young people prefer to study such occupations that are impossible to be implemented in a countryside. Hence, it will be rather difficult for them to find a job. Besides, when living in a big city, a young person will have more opportunities to choose from. As well as an experienced and high skilled specialist will have a wide variety of companies to choose. On the contrary, when living in a countryside, a person will need to adjust one’s skills to his or hers needs. Besides, if a person finds job in a city, he or she will need to drive to work every morning and come back every evening. This takes not only time but money for gas as well. In a city, there are more possibilities to meet new friends. The point is that when living in a small village, a person does not have the opportunity to meet new people. The point is that if a person lives in a countryside for a long time, he or she knows everyone in the village. It becomes uninteresting anymore to communicate with most of them. On the contrary, when living in a city, a person can easily make friends simply by visiting a gallery or even a café. Besides, a person can make friends at work. It is better to make business in a big city as well.

This essay was aimed on showing that living in a city is much better than living in a countryside. In this paper I have proved that when a person lives in a city, he or she has more opportunities for work, entertainment and self development. As for me, I would like to live in a big city to feel all the rush, all the life that is present there. It is no doubt that some people prefer living in a countryside because it is calm there and they are not willing to be in the noisy city. In my opinion, living in a city brings a person many opportunities for self development. Moreover, I think that only living in a big city can show the fullness of life.

My first trip to Paris, ‘The Capital City of France’. It was the awesome trip to country side. On my birthday my father came to me and said son this is your 20 th birthday gift, I was very surprised and opened it carefully, I saw 2 tickets of Paris and I shouted on top of my voice and hugged my father and said THANK YOU SO MUCH PAA.

Then dad in a calm voice said, ‘you can take your best friend with you and enjoy the trip son’.

I literally got excited and called my bestie and in a very exciting voice I said pack your bags babe we are going to Paris.

She thought I am kidding, she came to my house and I showed her tickets and we both started dancing in happiness.

Then after some time we planned that we have 2 days for shopping, we excitedly went for the shopping and had a good time with each other.

Then after 2 days we have to catch the flight at 10’o clock in the morning from Indra Gandhi international airport. We reached our destination in 9 hours.

Then we hire a hotel ‘Intercontinental Paris le Grand’ a fibulas hotel, food is good, then we took some rest the whole day.

Then at night we got ready for a club party which is organised by the hotel itself every day for their customers.

Theirs’s a pool party also, we enjoyed a lot and made some new friends. Next day we woke up late in the morning.

We had some breakfast and then we went to see the Eiffel tower .

There we saw an iron tower which is an Eiffel tower, on its back side there’s a lake on both side, above lake there’s a bridge where couple’s hang the locks for their comfortable love life, but that is banned now a day due to bending of bridge with those heavier locks.

We brought some Paris key chains. Then we had gone for shopping to buy some stuffs for our family and friends. Paris is all about tourist places.

We roam all around the art galleries showcasing some masterpieces of art around the world. One of the famous art gallery is LOUVRE MUSEUM, contain master pieces of iconic Mona Lisa.

Then we had gone to the famous historic place of Paris, a popular landmark too ‘Notre Dame Cathedral’. It is a beautiful cathedral containing towers, gargoyles, huge nave, and ringing bells and marvel.

There are many places to visit in Paris, since we have 5 days more to stay in Paris, we picked up 3 to 4 places per day to visit and enjoy the trip.

Then next day according to our plan we visited PALACE OF VERSAILLES, an amazing place to see the sunning architecture, grand apartments and hall of mirrors.

There’s an amazing transport to see the sight of Paris on HOP ON, HOP OF BUS TOUR which stop at points in city to allow you to see places according to your sightseeing time table.  Then we visited SET IN PARIS which converts life into sets of movies.

Then to see a view of Paris we had gone to PETITE TRAIN DE MONTMARTE, which will take us to the bottom of mount by the iconic Moulin rouge, and give the unbeatable review of Paris.

Then we had gone to ARC THE TRIOMPHE, one of the most photographed landmarks in Paris, we saw some spectacular panoramas and saw the tomb of unknown soldiers.

Next day we visited a great historic monument ‘PANTHEON’. There’s a good thing about Paris that they have road markers to guide the routes. Paris has many buses and local trains but metro is more convenient in Paris for travelling purposes.

I liked the tours by boat for sightseeing in Paris which shows us bridges, monuments, cathedrals and many other historic monuments.

The people of Paris are very sweet and the main parts are Dogs. They are found everywhere, even in restaurants.

Then we visited ‘Le Marais’ which is a home to various bars, hotels, restaurants. This was the best trip with my best friend and the best birthday gift by my father.

During our journey we bought many types of chocolates for our home. We shopped many clothes and stuffs as a memory to Paris.

Then we went back to our hotel, since it was our last day in Paris we took some rest and at that night again we join the club party and went to the pool party of that restaurant which has an amazing open gesture for their customers.

The drinks and food are really good in Paris. The most amazing and tasty dish of Paris that I have never eaten before was BAGUETTE.

We had some time left to see the night life in Paris. So, we went to various clubs that night to enjoy as much as we can.

At night Paris is generally lighted and becomes more beautiful than usual. The bars and restaurants are open whole night.

In Paris Music choirs are very famous. We had gone to bars to specially listen those choirs. There gesture of singing the song was very soft.

People of Paris don’t speak loud. Then next day we were waiting for our flight to return to our own country.

We both wanted to live there more but me and my best friend promised to come next time to Paris to live for more days and to explore more which we were not able to see due to shortage of time.

Essay on My Visit to Murree Valley Pakistan

Murree is a real beauty of Pakistan which is also known as “Queen of Hills”. It looks like a fantasy which grabs the attention of a lot of tourists. Every summer a lot of people from different nations visit it to get rid of the scorching heat of the sun. I didn’t get a chance to visit it before but last summer when I went there, the whole experience of traveling and visiting beautiful places was memorable.

The weather of Murree is always pleasant and cool. Most of the people even get a chance to experience snow falling. There are beautiful shops, restaurants, cafés, and stalls all around. Moreover, you can hear the fusion of western and Pakistani music which makes the whole atmosphere even more attractive. When the light gets dim in the evening, it becomes harder to leave the place or get back to the hotels. Everyone tends to have a secret desire of staying in the hills forever.

The most important and popular part of the Murree is “Mall Road” which I also visited first. It is always crowded as a lot of people come here to have delicious food and buy unique things for their friends, family, and relatives. However, the best time to visit this road is certainly after the evening when the overall view becomes even more splendid. Also, a lot of adventurous people prefer going to Mall road at midnight. So, the tour of Murree is incomplete without going here.

• Chair Lift & Cable Car

Chair lift and cable car are other most highlighted features of Murree which everyone loves. It can take one from new Murree to Patriata which are at the distance of 7km from each other. The whole area which comes in between these two destinations is covered with dark and huge forests. Every person is charged at least 500 rupees to complete the ride through chair lift or cable car. The rates, however, keep on increasing over time. But it is absolutely worth it as you get to see a lot of beautiful sceneries from the bird’s eye view.

• Kashmir Point

Kashmir Point is another place in Murree which would leave you surprised. It is covered with fruit and pine trees where you can see a lot of carefree monkeys jumping from one branch or tree to another. There are also many picnic spots as well which you can visit simply by following the other people or asking any native about it. Most of the spots are surrounded by long hills and dark green trees. Moreover, you would see clouds so near to you that they would give the allusion that you can touch them. It completely feels like paradise which would make you want to stay there throughout the year. In a nutshell, Murree is the most beautiful and unforgettable place to visit at least once in your life. I won’t even mind visiting it every year as it is a fantastic place.

Spending time in the countryside can indeed be a very relaxing and memorable experience for anybody who likes to live close to “Mother Nature”. A visit to countryside is a unique and wonderful experience. My friend from college hails from a small countryside village located at the heart of the state.

During the last summer vacation, I had an opportunity to visit my friend in his village. I packed up my belongings and boarded the bus bound for the village. The bus journey was for a painful six hours and thereafter I had to walk a mile by foot to reach the destination. It was a wonderful experience to walk in the natural surroundings.

The air was pure and fresh. I was walking in the middle of huge tracts of cornfields of gram and wheat. One could spot mustard fields in distance where the yellow flowers waved in the breeze. It looked like beautiful scenery straight out of a postcard. There were very tall trees at small distances from each other. The birds which had built their nests on those trees were chirping. There was absence of the regular noises of motor vehicles, which was very soothing.

After walking for quite some distance, I noticed a light-yellow house just near the pond. I could easily recognize it from the photograph which my friend had sent me. HE was standing in the verandah of his house and spotted me from a distance. We greeted each other and he introduced me to his parents and grandparents.

They had a joint family and lived in a huge ancestral house. I stayed in the countryside village for almost a week and returned home with many joyful memories of the country life. The farewell given to me was emotional. It was a very touching moment for me. I was asked to visit the village again to which I readily agreed. It was a wonderful journey and visit to the countryside.

Rudy Giuliani is served indictment papers at his own birthday party after mocking Arizona attorney general

PHOENIX — Arizona’s Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes on Friday announced that Rudy Giuliani had been served with the notice of his indictment in connection with an alleged conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election results in Arizona.

The announcement came less than two hours after a social media post from Giuliani taunted Mayes for failing to deliver his indictment. The notice was served to Giuliani during a celebration in Palm Beach, Florida, for his 80th birthday.

In a now-deleted post on X, Giuliani taunted Arizona authorities. “If Arizona authorities can’t find me by tomorrow morning; 1. They must dismiss the indictment; 2. They must concede they can’t count votes,” Giuliani posted Friday night. Accompanying the message was a photo of Giuliani smiling with six others and balloons arranged behind them.

An hour and 14 minutes later, Mayes responded to Giuliani ’s post , writing, “The final defendant was served moments ago. @RudyGiuliani, nobody is above the law.”

Giuliani, 79, turns 80 on May 28 and was enjoying an early birthday celebration in Palm Beach on the night he was served, according to social media activity . By the end of the night, “Happy Birthday to You” wasn’t the only music the former New York City mayor had to face.

The party was hosted by Caroline Wren, an adviser to Arizona U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake.

Ted Goodman, a spokesperson for Giuliani, said Wren was unperturbed by the birthday bash bust-up. “The mayor was unfazed by the decision to try and embarrass him during his 80th birthday party. He enjoyed an incredible evening with hundreds of people who love him — from all walks of life — and we look forward to full vindication soon,” Goodman said in a statement to NBC News.

Others indicted in the “fake electors” case are further along in their legal proceedings. On Friday morning, former Trump attorney John Eastman pleaded not guilty to charges related to an alleged conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election results in Arizona. Eleven other defendants are slated to be arraigned on Tuesday.

The Arizona “fake electors” scheme isn’t the only controversy Giuliani has faced in the wake of efforts to overturn the 2020 election. In December 2023, Giuliani was hit with a $148 million verdict for defaming two Georgia election workers.

Title: direct learning of mesh and appearance via 3d gaussian splatting.

Abstract: Accurately reconstructing a 3D scene including explicit geometry information is both attractive and challenging. Geometry reconstruction can benefit from incorporating differentiable appearance models, such as Neural Radiance Fields and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS). In this work, we propose a learnable scene model that incorporates 3DGS with an explicit geometry representation, namely a mesh. Our model learns the mesh and appearance in an end-to-end manner, where we bind 3D Gaussians to the mesh faces and perform differentiable rendering of 3DGS to obtain photometric supervision. The model creates an effective information pathway to supervise the learning of the scene, including the mesh. Experimental results demonstrate that the learned scene model not only achieves state-of-the-art rendering quality but also supports manipulation using the explicit mesh. In addition, our model has a unique advantage in adapting to scene updates, thanks to the end-to-end learning of both mesh and appearance.

We are consulting on ways to strengthen the safeguards for children and vulnerable persons who are subject to searches involving the exposure of intimate parts without hindering the police’s ability to keep the public safe.

This consultation closes at 11:59pm on 24 June 2024. Strip search involving the exposure of intimate parts (EIP) is one of the most intrusive powers available to the police.

The government recognises that these powers are needed in order for the police to prevent harm and effectively investigate crime, as well as mitigate national security risk. However, it is vital these searches are only conducted where necessary and proportionate, in a fair and respectful manner, without unlawful discrimination, and with full regard for the welfare and dignity of the individual being searched.

On 30 April, a statutory consultation on changes to PACE Codes A and C was published setting out proposed new safeguards for children and vulnerable persons who are subject to searches involving the exposure of intimate parts.

Whilst the numbers of children or vulnerable persons subject to detention under the Terrorism Act 2000 or the National Security Act 2023 are significantly lower than those detained or searched under PACE powers, we think that it would be desirable for there to be consistency across the 3 custody codes (PACE codes C, H and I) to ensure that there are equivalent safeguards for children and vulnerable adults.

As a result, in line with the statutory duty under section 67(4) of PACE, we are seeking views from stakeholders on mirroring changes to PACE code C across to PACE Codes H and I.

The revisions proposed in this consultation are intended to strengthen the safeguards for children and vulnerable persons who are subject to searches involving EIP and emphasise the importance of safeguarding, without hindering the police’s ability to keep the public safe.
