Wildlife Tours & Vacations

  • Ways to travel

Get closer to nature, the Intrepid way.

From Borneo’s rich jungle ecosystem to the islands of the Galapagos , our small group tours take you to the very heart of nature all over the world. Marvel at elephants as they’re silhouetted against an African sunset, watch chimpanzees swinging in the treetops above you, and come face to face with animals you’ve only ever read about or seen on TV in the wilds of Costa Rica. With incredible local leaders guiding the way and wildlife experts accompanying you on game drives, informational walks, informal sessions, and educational talks, our trips offer an unforgettable chance to observe these captivating creatures in their natural habitat, all while staying in a range of accommodations almost as memorable as your animal sightings - think safari lodges and wilderness camps.

But, before you take out your camera, we ensure that any interactions are done responsibly, and with the greatest level of respect. We believe that wild animals should be viewed – without our interference – doing what they do best: living in the wild.

Supporting wildlife

Not only does our entire range of wildlife trips promise to give you unforgettable animal experiences, but they also directly support the conservation of wildlife and the people who take care of that wildlife.  So, you can rest assured knowing that the money you spend by travelling with us is reinvested into the protection of the wildlife you see and the communities you visit like the jewellery workshop run by a team of women in Zambia that donates funds for anti-poaching patrols.

Local expert-led tours

Is your lemur knowledge almost non-existent? Do you have any idea about the intricacies of Borneo’s jungle ecosystem? Don’t know the orangutans from the chimpanzees? On an Intrepid trip, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Every wildlife trip includes at least one local wildlife expert – from park rangers knowledgeable about mountain gorillas to indigenous people with a special connection to land - to take you on guided walks, conduct informal sessions, and participate in educational conversations.

Red binoculars

Range of experiences

Traditional Game Drives, boat safaris, and nature walks are all par for the course on one of our wildlife trips but at Intrepid, our itineraries delve deeper to provide you with the whole, unique picture. Incorporating a range of different opportunities for travellers to experience the world’s wildlife such as a visit to a Wildlife Forensic Laboratory in Zambia where officials investigate wildlife crimes (just like CSI but for animals!) and learning firsthand about Antarctica’s ecosystem from your onboard marine biologist.

Responsible travel & conservation

We are not only giving back through offering safaris that make a difference but also partnering with conservation projects on the ground to raise awareness and important funding through the Intrepid Foundation.

Animal welfare

At Intrepid, we believe that it’s our responsibility to help preserve the planet for the next generation of travelers, as well as for the communities – and animals – that call these places home. That’s why we’ve worked with World Animal Protection  to create a set of guidelines each and every one of our trips follows.

Our animal welfare pledge

We’ve also partnered with the team at Blood Lions as a commitment to actively working towards a solution to lion exploitation by signing their ‘Born to Live Wild’ pledge.

Visiting animals

We only visit facilities involving wild animals in captivity if the reason for the facility directly helps, and is in the best interest, of the animals involved. For example, rescue centers operating with the highest animal welfare and conservation standards possible.

Visiting the MandaLao Elephant Conservation in Laos

Being a wildlife-friendly traveler

From doing your research to never using animals as a photo prop, there are a few easy ways to become a wildlife-friendly traveler . Join Intrepid co-founder Geoff Manchester and Lek Chailert, the founder of Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, to find out more about Intrepid's ban on elephant rides and what you can do to help protect wildlife on your travels, or check out the partnerships between The Intrepid Foundation and various conservation organizations around the world.

How we help

We actively discourage the participation of travelers in any activities that exploit wild or domestic/working animals. Lately, there’s been a rise in animal-related incidents around the world, and it doesn’t sit well with us. That’s why we have this toolkit in conjunction with World Animal Protection, with the hope that it will help the tourism industry rebuild more ethically during the COVID-caused travel shutdowns.

Park & conservation fees

Did you know a portion of all national park fees (included in your trip price) go back into the conservation for the parks? In some countries, this can be a considerable amount and goes towards park upkeep, wildlife rehabilitation and protection, and funding for park rangers.

Become a Citizen Scientist

Contribute in a very real way on your trip to Antarctica by undertaking scientific studies, recording cloud cover with NASA, participating in the ‘Happy Whale’ initiative (taking photos of whales’ flukes and uploading them to a special database), and conducting seabird surveys.

Our WWF partnership

Embark on an Antarctic adventure with WWF , a conservation organization working to protect endangered habitats and stop climate change, and learn about their non-invasive whale research project from onboard scientists.

Giving back

Our wildlife trips are specifically designed to include local communities, businesses and NGOs that are working to support the conservation of wildlife, or the people protecting the wild.

Meet the experts

Man in a red jacket leaning up against an icy ledge

Alex - Antarctica Expedition Leader

Alex has long held a fascination with the natural world and polar regions. A graduate of Cambridge in Natural Sciences, Alex had been a polar guide for over a decade and is the co-founder of the Polar Citizen Science Collective, an organisation devoted to harnessing the research and data collection power of polar tourism. When not on a ship he can usually be found with skis or sticky rubber on his feet.

Man looking at the camera and smiling with lush greenery in the background.

Twongyeirwe - Head Ranger (Uganda)

Growing up in a family with a conservation background, Twongyeirwe quickly developed a dream of becoming a wildlife ranger, working with mountain gorillas in the forests of Uganda. He's been living that dream for 16 years (and counting), learning about gorilla behaviours, tracking their movements and passing on that knowledge to passionate travellers just as awestruck by the majesty of these animals as he is.

Woman crouching on the ground and smiling at the camera

Jessica - Naturalist Guide (Galapagos Islands)

Jessica grew up surrounded by sea lions, sea turtles, iguanas, amazing landscapes, and friendly people on the Galapagos Islands so it's no surprise she turned to a career teaching people about the diversity, endemism, and the marine life of the region she's loved since she was little. When she's not working, you can find her scuba diving, snorkelling and exploring as much of this magical Ecuadorian world as possible.

Woman wearing a white jacket staring off into the distance

Eva – Citizen Science Coordinator (Polar)

Eva is a polar scientist, with a particular passion for marine mammals. Her love for whales led to her graduating at the top of her class with a Master's in Polar Science from the Scott Polar Research Institute at the University of Cambridge. Researcher, Naturalist, Photographer, Educator, Surveyor, Skipper and Wildlife Officer, Eva has travelled extensively throughout all 7 continents, but her heart remains in the polar regions.

Wildlife FAQs

Do i need a covid-19 vaccine to join a wildlife trip.

If your Intrepid trip starts on or before 31 December 2022, you must provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.

If you are unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons, you may apply for an exemption. Exemptions will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. To apply, you must provide a medical certificate from a medical professional.

Children under 18 are exempt. Children aged between 5 and 17 years old must provide proof of either vaccination, recovery or a negative COVID-19 test.

Trips from 1 January 2023 onwards

From 1 January 2023, Intrepid will no longer require travellers to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (excluding all Polar trips and select adventure cruises). How safe are wildlife tours?

At Intrepid, the welfare of our people and our travellers is our highest priority, and we never put tours in a potentially harmful or dangerous position. To ensure that all travellers are safe while trekking or visiting wildlife conservation areas, there are a set of rules and regulations that everyone must observe at all times, which you'll be briefed on when necessary. Both your leader and the professional wildlife expert that accompanies you on specific activities such as gorilla trekking, will be happy to answer any questions you might have and make sure everyone's obeying safety precautions.

Do I have to be fit to join a wildlife tour?

Our wildlife tours range from having a lower physical rating (2 out of 5 stars) to a higher physical rating (3 out of 5 stars) which indicates that you should have a reasonable level of fitness to be comfortable throughout your trip. Most wildlife trips visit at least one national park so you can expect to participate in a couple of walks or longer hikes.

Am I guaranteed to see gorillas on my trek?

Animal movements can be unpredictable so we can't 100% guarantee that you'll see gorillas on your trek. Having said that, it's highly unlikely not to. You will be accompanied by a gorilla tracker on your trek and they'll have specific knowledge on how to find the gorillas and where they might be so you don't have to worry about a thing.

What’s the difference between trekking gorillas in Uganda and trekking in Rwanda?

There's not a huge difference between gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda when it comes to actually seeing the animals, but the terrain of both countries varies. Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park has a more open and less dense landscape than the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda so it can often feel easier to trek through. Uganda also experiences more rain and this can make tracks slippery and harder to navigate. Another difference is that the permit for gorilla trekking in Rwanda is more expensive than in Uganda and this can deter budget-conscious travellers.

What vehicles do you use for Game Drives in Sub Saharan Africa?

The type of vehicles you'll travel on during your Game Drive is dependent on the style of your trip (basix, original, comfort, or premium) but all trips will use a 4x4 or alternate vehicle for at least one of those rides so you have the best opportunity to experience the wildlife from a unique perspective. If you want more details, check out the trip notes/itinerary information for your chosen trip.

When travelling on an Intrepid wildlife trip, how does my money support local conservation efforts?

Regardless of the style, every single one of our wildlife trips directly supports the conservation of wildlife or the people protecting the wildlife. A portion of any National Park or Game Reserve entrance fee (which is included in your trip price) is also fed back into protecting and conserving the park's natural and cultural heritage.  This money is crucial to safeguarding these habitats for wildlife to breed and survive together with its surrounding local communities. Our wildlife trips are also designed to seek out and support local projects, communities, and businesses that are actively working to protect wildlife, and educate and empower local communities to be custodians of conservation.

Will I get the opportunity for a range of different wildlife experiences on my trip?

Absolutely! Our trips feature a whole heap of fun activities such as Game drives, nature walks, and boat safaris, as well as unique experiences such as visiting a Wildlife Forensic Laboratory in Zimbabwe (which is exactly what it sounds like - a unit investigating wildlife crimes) and sitting down to dinner with a local park ranger where you'll learn about life in the wilderness and their special relationships with the mountain gorillas (guaranteed to be one dinner conversation you've never had before)!

Will I get the chance to learn from a local wildlife expert during my trip?

You'll have access to your trip leader who already has an impressive base of knowledge about the countries visited in the itinerary, and the local flora, fauna, cultural, religious, and social aspects associated with them but we also use additional local guides and wildlife experts who have a deeper and more specific knowledge about the places you go to and the animals you see. This is to add to your overall experience and make sure you're getting the full, well-rounded picture so expect to spend some time with wildlife veterinarians, park rangers, naturalist guides, and conservation researchers. For some trips, you will be accompanied by these experts for the entire duration, such as on our Antarctica departures where there's a naturalist and marine biologist onboard.

Which islands should I visit in the Galapagos to see the wildlife?

There's a good chance you'll see a wide variety of animals on any Galapagos Island since there are over 300+ different species that inhabit this archipelago. It's the sheer diversity and variety of life on land, in the air and under the water that makes the Galapagos such a drawcard for nature and wildlife lovers and each trip will give you the opportunity to experience as much of it as possible.

See below for some of the animals known to frequent the Galapagos Islands:

  • Sea lions are found across all islands.
  • Penguins are found across Santa Cruz, Santiago, Isabela, Fernandina, Floreana, and Bartolome islands.
  • Giant tortoises are found across Santa Cruz, San Cristobal, Isabela, and Floreana islands.
  • Green sea turtles are found across all islands.
  • Land iguanas are found across Santa Cruz, Isabela, Fernandina, Plaza Sur, and North Seymour islands.
  • Flamingoes are found across Santa Cruz, Santiago, Isabela, Floreana, and Rabida islands.

Do I need travel insurance to join a wildlife tour?

Absolutely. All passengers travelling with Intrepid are required to purchase travel insurance before the start of their trip. Your travel insurance details will be recorded by your leader on the first day of the trip. Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey.

For more information on insurance, please go to:  Travel Insurance

Are Intrepid's wildlife trips accessible for travellers with disabilities?

Intrepid is committed to making travel widely  accessible , regardless of ability or disability. That’s why we do our best to help as many people see the world as possible, regardless of any physical or mental limitations they might have. However, we’re always happy to talk to travellers with disabilities and see if we can help guide them towards the most suitable itinerary for their needs and where possible, make reasonable adjustments to our itineraries.

All you need to know about Safari Tours

Are african safaris dangerous.

Every African safari trip has an element of danger, but it’s easy to stay safe if you follow the basic safari rules. Always keep your entire body in the vehicle, don’t make any loud noise, turn off your camera flash, don’t walk around at night alone, wear boots and socks in the bush, and always listen to your safari guide.

Is Safari better in Kenya or Tanzania?

Both Kenya and Tanzania are excellent destinations for your African safari travel experience, as both are home to the Big Five and the Great Migration. While Kenya is known as a superb place to see big cats, black rhinos and exotic animals like the sitatunga, Tanzania has the world's largest concentration of animals, including the largest concentration of cheetahs and unique animals like tree-climbing lions and African wild dogs.

What is the best month to go on an African safari?

The best time to go on an African safari tour varies between the different seasons of East and Southern Africa. Generally, the best months to go are the dry season months of June to October. During this time, animals migrate and are easier to spot as they gather around the few remaining water sources.

What is the best place to go on safari?

The best places to go on a safari holiday are Kenya and Tanzania where you can see the Big Five and the Great Migration. You can also spot the Big Five and other incredible wildlife in South Africa and Zambia. We love going on water safaris in Botswana, seeing desert-adapted wildlife in Namibia and spotting tigers in India.

Testimonials

Our sincere thanks the AWS team for making our trip to Zimbabwe more a life experience than a holiday. This was our first journey overseas since Covid and it was perfect from the smallest detail to the amazing experiences which will stay in our memories forever. We have been travelling through Africa with your advice, support and guidance for more than 20 years and this latest adventure in the Zimbabwean bush confirms our view that you and your team are the very best in the business.
Our experience with African Wildlife Safaris and our consultant Michael was overwhelmingly positive.  Our travel between camps was all seamless and well organised.  The camps he advised us to visit were all varied and fantastic in their own ways including: the staff, food and our personal guides.  The stars of the show were the game drives with the animals we saw from the smallest mongoose to the biggest elephant and everything in between.  We had such a great time.  This was our first safari and it was beyond our expectations big thanks to Michael and AWS.

What is the best time to visit yellowstone national park.

Because each month has something different to offer, the best time to visit Yellowstone is often a matter of opinion! Typically, spring and fall are a wildlife enthusiasts’ favorite seasons. May is a wonderful time to view bears as they are busy foraging in lower elevations after emerging from hibernation, and elk herds are easy to find as they make their way north on their spring migration preparing to have their calves. September is another active wildlife month as animals like elk, deer, and moose have fully grown out their impressive antlers and are entering their rut (breeding season), making them very active and more common to see. Hearing an elk bugle through the changing colors of the aspen leaves is truly magical. The bears are also very active at this time as they have entered ‘hyperphagia’. This means they are trying to gain as much weight as possible before returning to hibernation, making your chances of seeing a bear at this time far greater than mid-summer.

Both of these months have unpredictable weather. You could have warm sunny days or you could be seeing snow, so plan for both. Mid-summer offers other bonuses that these months do not, like spectacular wildflowers in June and July, and the exciting bison rut in August. No matter what month you visit you won’t be disappointed, but each month brings something special!

Are guided tours of Yellowstone worth it?

Vacations to new places already take a lot of planning, but booking a guided tour makes the process so much easier. Having a knowledgeable local to take you into unfamiliar territory gives you a lay of the land as well as a wealth of knowledge and context that you wouldn’t get by yourself. Guides know the wildlife habits and have the info on the latest movements and sightings, so your chances of finding wildlife greatly increase on a tour. We commonly hear that people wish they had taken their tour at the beginning of their trip so that they could have been equipped with everything they learned for their remaining time in the park. Even if it isn’t your first time visiting, there is probably a lot you didn’t know about the park that you can learn from your guide!

How many days do you need for Yellowstone Tours?

If your time in Yellowstone is limited, we offer day tours that last between 10-12 hours. Think of this as a tour of the greatest hits. You will be amazed at how much you can see and learn in a single day! If you have more time and want a more in-depth experience with more opportunities for wildlife watching, a 2-3 day tour is a great choice. This allows you to slow down and take in more of the park at your own pace. Yellowstone is 2.2 million acres and is home to over half of the world’s geothermal features, so it is easy to spend several days in the park and still wish you had more time. We offer tours up to 5 days long for this reason!

What is the best way to visit Yellowstone National Park?

Yellowstone National Park is very accessible with 5 entrances and a variety of lodging options. Flying into Jackson Hole gives you access to the south entrance, while flying into Bozeman is most convenient for the north entrance. Plenty of campgrounds and RV parks make road tripping an ideal way to visit, but as popularity continues to rise be sure to book ahead! Many towns surrounding the park are desirable locations to base out of. Jackson, West Yellowstone, Gardiner, Bozeman, Cody and Cooke City are very popular choices.

Grand Teton Wildlife Safari Tour

Pictured Is The Welcome To Grand Teton Sign With A View Of The Grand Tetons In The Distance

Destination

On a full day Grand Teton Wildlife Safari Tour, our experienced guides will navigate guests along the scenic routes that loop around forests, beside the shorelines of beautifully clear, glacially fed lakes, and along the base of the steep and dramatic Teton Range.  This tour will reveal the wonderful variety of alpine scenery that can be found throughout the park, and it provides opportunities to access a spectrum of habitats where different wildlife species can be found.  On this wildlife safari, we will search for larger mammals, like deer, elk, moose, pronghorn, bear and bison as well as smaller mammals and a variety of avian species.

  • National Park Tour & Wildlife Watching
  • Stunning Alpine Landscapes & Photo Opportunities
  • Short Walks & Optional Hikes

Your exact route and itinerary will be determined by your interests, current wildlife sightings, and current weather and road conditions.  Our guides are all highly experienced, with thousands of hours in the field, and will expertly tailor your safari to you and your group.

Encompassing both the Teton Mountain Range and the Jackson Hole valley is Grand Teton National Park.  This park preserves over 300,000 acres of the region for the benefit of a magnificent diversity of wildlife and their crucial habitats.  It is also a valuable resource to those that venture into the wildlands of Wyoming by revealing the necessity of preservation.  This principle of protecting a world where nature supersedes human development can provide a vital sanctuary from bustling metropolises.

The Teton Mountain Range rises like a jagged, majestic rocky crown at the west side of Jackson Hole.  The mountains often capture the entire attention of visitors, making the incredible array of this geographic “hole” easy to miss.  Look either to the North, East, West or South in Jackson Hole, (on a clear day, of course,) and you will witness mountains.  The surrounding peaks reach heights that exceed 12,000-13,000 feet in elevation, with the Grand Teton being the tallest at 13,775 feet.  The Teton Range rises most abruptly, like a sheer rocky wall, with little to no foothills, easing up into the high alpine county.  On a geological time scale these mountains are young, hence the dramatic, jagged peaks that have yet to be worn smooth by forces like wind, snow and rain.  This mountainous terrain has largely affected the biodiversity and anthropological history of Jackson Hole.  These natural barriers, along with extreme winters, limit the survivability of species like reptiles and amphibians in the valley and over time have selected for larger mammals better adapted to colder climates- like the elk, moose and bison.

The valley floor lays over 6,000 feet above sea level, with the exception of sculpting forces like rivers and past glacial activity that have created depressions or moraines, it is relatively level and open.  Here you will find a type of habitat known as a steppe, which in Wyoming is a high elevation desert that appears to be home to one single type of shrub – sagebrush.  Nearing the roots of the surrounding mountain ranges, sage gives way to a variety of evergreen species and aspen tree groves.  The most rugged facade of high alpine habitat resides at elevations above 9,000 feet, where the tree line fizzles out into exposed rock, permanent snowfields and eventually sharp, jagged peaks.

Different species of animals have evolved to inhabit these different habitats during different times of the year.  This includes some of North America’s largest land mammals, like bison which can weigh as much as 2,000lbs and moose that reach a maximum of 1,200lbs.  Some of North America’s most incredible apex predators also reside within the park- the gray wolf and the grizzly bear.  These animals sit at the top of the food chain, and because of their hunting pressures, prey species like elk and deer are kept from becoming overpopulated and the balance of the ecosystem is maintained.  Other notable and unique species that call Jackson Hole their home are North America’s fastest land mammal, the pronghorn; nature’s architect, the beaver; the badger, a subterranean mustelid; the regal bald eagle; the playful, aquatic river otter… the biodiversity is seemingly unlimited.

The human history of Grand Teton National Park began approximately 11,000 years ago with the arrival of indigenous people migrating north with the recession of the last ice age.  It is not believed these natives had permanent settlements in the valley, rather they would stay for the summer and find a warmer place in winter.  It wasn’t until the 1860’s people began to settle and develop Jackson Hole.  The mountains made moving into the region very difficult- especially if you were traveling over the steep terrain by horse and covered wagon.  But the temptation of owning land was stronger than this obstacle, and by the time Grand Teton National Park was initially established in 1929 homesteads could be found throughout the valley floor.  The expansion of human development heavily impacted the wildlife and their habitats, which has fortunately led to conservation efforts that continue to enhance and maintain the natural diversity of the area.

Book a Private Tour with a Focus on Photography

For photographers, there are over 50 miles of roadway to navigate within the park.  Along which a variety of strategically placed pullouts can be found, each offering dramatic vistas of either winding rivers, crystalline bodies of water that mirror open sky, craggy, alpine peaks and the potential for spectacular wildlife sightings. With this spectrum of landscapes to explore, the opportunities for photography are unlimited.  Working in this wild space also results in no shot being the same, even if snapping a photo from a popular spot such as the Snake River Overlook or the Oxbow Bend- the weather, clouds and lighting vary on a near daily basis.

The unpredictability of wildlife enhances the experience as well.  While many animals, like bison, moose and pronghorn, have distinct habitats they are typically found amongst during certain seasons, there is always the chance of finding them in unexpected places that could create the set up for an entirely unique photo.  Then there are less frequently seen species, such as otters, wolves, great gray owls and grizzly bears.  These animals keep you on your toes, potentially darting along a river bank or dashing through an open field and vanishing before the click of a shutter.

Our professional photography guides will cater the trip to your interests in the images you want to capture.  Whether you are aspiring to be a new-age Ansel Adams or just love capturing images in an awe-striking natural landscape.  A full day private photography tour into Grand Teton National Park is a perfect opportunity to have an experienced guide lead you to prime scenic viewpoints and most fruitful spots to find wildlife.

What animals will we see in Grand Teton National Park?

The wildlife you may see in Grand Teton National Park varies by season.  Some animals migrate, some animals hibernate and some animals are visible throughout the year, if you know where to look.  In spring, you might find grizzly bears, black bears, mountain bluebirds and bison calves.  In the height of summer, you’re more likely to find bison and pronghorn.  In the autumn, black bears and moose may be easier to spot.  During the winter months, you may see elk, bighorn sheep, moose (possibly without their antlers), coyotes, foxes, and more.

Is it better to do a half day or a full day tour in Grand Teton National Park?

A half day tour offers a great introduction to the park, but a full day offers better opportunities to see wildlife in their natural habitat.  The animals that roam the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem are wild animals, so there’s never a guarantee that you’ll see anything as you drive through the park.  On a half day tour, we have roughly 4 hours to search for wildlife, but on a full day tour, we have double that time to explore deeper into the park and spend more time looking for wildlife.  A half day tour is perfect if you’re short of time and you plan on returning to the area in the near future.  A full day tour would give you a much better experience, so plan ahead and schedule a full day in Grand Teton National Park, if possible.

What do others say about this tour?

5 Stars Took wildlife sightseeing with Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris. This company goes beyond the normal to show you a great trip. Smart, funny, and very knowledgeable. Got to see wildlife I’ve never seen. Our guide helped with pictures which was awesome. I’ll certainly be back with my family and I know who I’ll be asking for to show them the sights. Been on many excursions in many different countries, but this sightseeing of these wild animals and mountains rank right up there on the list. THANK YOU! PERFECT TRIP! Warry S.

5 Stars Our guide was a wealth of information, completely accommodating to our interests and needs and extremely well-versed in the park, the animals and anything else about which we had questions. Despite the fact that we were touring on a very hot day when most of the animals were seeking a cool shady place, we saw bison , elk , pronghorn, several species of bird, including the white pelican and great blue heron (adults and a nest with three babies, no less), mule deer and a moose. We also saw some of the most beautiful spots in Grand Teton National Park, culminating with a sunset behind the majestic Grand Tetons. Little known fact: our guide is a National Geographic photographer and filmmaker. Boom! Amy D.

5 Stars This was an amazing tour in and around Grand Teton National Park. My wife and I booked an all day safari and had an awesome time. Our guide picked us up at our hotel and was incredibly knowledgeable of the animals and history of Grand Teton. He was fun and engaging and we saw so much wildlife and learned so much as well, thank you! So worth it!!!! David Z.

5 Stars We did the private all day tour and it was awesome! Our guide knew everything about everything and was great at taking our group photos. He knew we really wanted to see a moose so he went out of his way to make an extra stop where he had heard one was sighted earlier. Highly recommend this trip and this guide!! Kim K.

The tour was absolutely perfect and exceeded our expectations. Our guide was so knowledgeable and was interested in getting to know us. The chef (Chandolo) was brilliant - his food was amazing and he was also a really warm, welcoming person. The whole team worked great together and I would 100% recommend!

Botswana Safari

The Absolute Africa 6 day safari was quite an adventure. My wife and I were, to be honest, a little daunted by the prospect of camping and bush camping but due to the efforts of guide Joe, driver Emmaus(EMI) and especially a very welcoming group of travellers, despite our ages of 61 and 66, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The tents were durable and easy to erect, the sleeping mats reasonably comfortable and the briefings each night informative. Chobe NP and the Okavango Delta were clear highlights with game drives and cruises providing excellent opportunities to observe the abundant wildlife. The mokoro trips in the delta were an absolute highlight. Big 5 and ‘Pretty 5’ all spotted repeatedly. We believe there should have been more insight offered to the nature of the safari in terms of joining a group briefly who had already been travelling together for 50+ days and whilst it was made clear we would be helping with meals, packing etc. it was not clear in our package we would be actually shopping, cooking, cleaning the bus, packing, doing ‘security’ etc. and a cook would have been an important and welcome addition. To be fair to our crew the groups functioned really efficiently, we have heard that is not always the case. We also believe the group size was too large for best outcomes. In short, due to the personnel and the itinerary, it was a terrific and memorable safari.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!
