- The Boch Center Wang Theatre is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been one of the premier theatrical destinations in Boston since opening in 1925. Rivaled by few other theatres in the world, it boasts a seating capacity of 3,500 and one of the five largest stages in the U.S.
- Learn about the theatre’s architectural highlights and unique history – from its hotel roots and glamorous days as a movie “cathedral”, to today’s role as an impressive venue for performances and events.

Private Tours are available 7 days a week on any mutually agreeable date and time. Reserve yours today!

Each tour lasts between 45 minutes to an hour. Reservations need to be made 48 hours in advance with the Theatre Tours team by emailing them at [email protected] .

Public and private tours are offered on select days and times (is subject to change). Each tour lasts between 80-100 minutes.
Reservations are required. Please email to confirm your spot. Tour will not operate without a minimum of two confirmed guests.

Virtual Tours
A private tour of the Boch Center from the comfort of home for groups of all sizes. Available 7 days a week, year round with reservations made at least 48 hours in advance. Conducted live via Zoom and includes an interactive walkthrough of the theatre alongside historic photos and stories shared by your guide.

National Landmark Backstage Tours
The Auditorium Theatre, designed by famed architects Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler , opened on December 9, 1889 , and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1975. Historic Tours take patrons behind the scenes to view it as few do. The tour includes legendary accounts of how and why the theatre was built; stories of the many artists who graced our historic stage; and a closer look at the brilliant 24-karat gold-leafed ceiling arches, hundreds of Sullivan’s beautifully restored intricate stencil patterns, the stained glass muses at the entrance, and murals by Charles Holloway and Albert Fleury.

Stupendous!! A delightful surprise, a beautifully told story, with amazing theater, acrobatics, and humor. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this performance, as did the whole theater. The audience was electric! There was a buzz of excitement and praise heard during intermission and after the show as theater goers left the performance.
