Cruise Inn 2

Ratings and reviews, location and contact.

Met up with friends at the cruise inn 2 in December, was very pleasantly surprised, how much better it is now that the lovely sue and husband Steve have taken over and improved the whole atmosphere, the fish and chips are the best in Tenerife in... my opinion, being a Yorkshire lass I’ve had a few. We stayed at Vicky 1 a few years ago. Keep up the good work, all of your team work very hard and are very pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. Great fun with the bingo, open the box and not forgetting STICKY , Evan better when you win . Thankyou sue & Steve we will be back even though we don’t always stay at Vicky 1. Shell & les table 22 💋💋 More

They have tidied this bar up since last year and still offer much to the guests throughout the day. We have enjoyed eating here where the prices are very reasonable. If you want it there is entertainment some evenings, which is very popular with residents.... They also show most sports on the t.v. so there is something for everybody. More

We have been coming to Tenerife for a number of years and stayed in Victoria Court 1 a few times. The Cruise Inn is a must, breakfast, post pool drinks, pre dinner drinks and evening meal also. We have always come for fish Friday which... is amazing, today we came for Wednesday grill night and OMG, the lamb. We always visit Fortuna Nova for lamb, but we all agreed the lamb in the Cruise Inn was nicer, fell off the bone. Can’t end my review without mentioning the amazing owners/staff, Steve and Sue can’t do enough for you, Sophie is just gorgeous and Simon the chef is fantastic. So here we are, waiting for bingo, sticky and open the box, even if we don’t win a great night had by all More

After playing pool a few days earlier, we decided to have a quick meal. Service at the bar was ok, pints of Alhambra very good. Ordered food ok & served ok, my Nachos plus Cheesy Garlic Bread was good, unfortunately Mrs B's Gammon was inedible,... very over cooked, they reluctantly took it back, removed it & the meal was reserved with extra Egg to go with the Jacket Potatoe. They refund the difference, but it was all done with a reluctant attitude. Shame as had some good meals here in the past, but unlikely to return. More

Good for food and drinks, this bar is returning to some normality. The opening hours were still a little flexible but better now that things are busier. The crowds still flock in for sticky nights and they do meals of the day, which are popular.... Sport is shown both inside and out. This is a handy bar and, whether you stay at the complex or just pop in, you will receive a warm welcome. More

Always come to Cruise Inn on Friday for fish and chips but decided to come Wednesday for the steak and lamb shank which we ordered in advance. The lamb shank was my favourite meal of the holiday and the steak was excellent both just melt... in the mouth. Sue and Steve are excellent hosts and make you feel very welcome. The staff are also so friendly and accommodating. Food, service and atmosphere great well worth 5 stars would give it more if we could. More

"I can't say enough about The Cruise Inn 2 at Victoria Court 1 apartments—we have been staying in these apartments for over five years now, and The Cruise never disappoints. Whether it's starting the day with a breakfast, enjoying an afternoon drink, or an evening... meal, The Cruise Inn has become a cherished part of our vacation routine. The food is great, with prices that won't break the bank and portions that leave you feeling satisfied. The lamb dish truly stands out—it's hands down the best we've tasted on the island. We also love the entertainment options, especially sticky and bingo night on Friday, we always have fish, chips and mushy peas, when it comes to food preferences, the chef goes above and beyond to accommodate. One of our party can't have batter, so chef Simon prepares a piece of grilled fish instead—now that's service! But what truly makes The Cruise special is the staff, particularly Sophie. Her warm welcome and attentive service make every visit feel like coming home. She's the heart and soul of the place, and we can't imagine our vacation without her. In short, The Cruise Inn is more than just a poolside bar—it's a home away from home. From the delicious food to the generous drinks and exceptional service, it's everything we could ask for in a vacation spot. We'll be coming back for years to come. More

Steve & Sue are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Food fantastic and not overpriced. Oh and make sure you try Steve's cocktails, the pina Colada is the best I've ever had!! Can't wait for next year.

We have stayed on this complex before and know how popular this bar/restaurant is with both residents and tourists. We received a warm welcome. Sadly there were few guests due to covid restrictions so opening hours were flexible. However the management deserve credit for the... service delivered during these difficult times. The place still came to life on the sticky nights, and that was good to see. More

Make this place a "must try" for food. I had lamb shank, it was delicious, I also had the fish n chips on Friday, absolutely delicious. This bar is a gem- tucked away on Victoria Court 1 complex. Will definitely be back there on my... next visit to tenerife. The staff are very friendly and the bar is spotless. More

Just got back from our family holiday. Spent a lot of time in Cruise Inn, lovely bar and great food ( you’ve got to try the sangria) Clean and friendly Sue, Ste and all the staff can’t do enough for you. Great location near bars,... short walk from the beach and market. The complex is very clean, has a lovely pool and is well maintained. We will be visiting again shortly. 🌞🏖🍻🍹 More

Steve is the best host. Sue we met on our last night. Lovely couple. Food excellent. Takeaway or eat in. Made my hollibobs. Going back next year. Can't wait.

Family bar with family values. Great for ladies and gents. Not really for younger more adventurous louder types. Good for more mature company and young families . Food and staff very good. Great atmosphere.

Having heard this nearby restaurant/bar had new owners, gave us a good reason to have a meal Arrived about 5 in the afternoon & a singer was just starting a set & the place was busy busy busy. Service was still good, we both had... the Braising Steak with mash & veg, plus a side of Cheesy Garlic Bread. Very yummy. Value was good, with 3 pints local beer, Alhambra, plus a water only €24.60. Must visit more often. More

The Cruise Inn 2 is a fantastic complement to Victoria Court One. The new owners have definitely put there mark in the business for the better. Really good quality food and range of drinks. Daily specials and entertainment really make this bar a delight to come to. No need to cook when this is on your door step. Staff and owners very friendly and will do anything to help. Looking forward to our return.

Lovely friendly clean bar with friendly helpful staff that will go the extra mile to help there customers . Amazing choice of flavoured gins. Great menu with home cooked food . Well worth a visit .

The owners Steve and Sue are a lovely couple very welcoming And have great staff always happy to help very friendly. Excellent choice of drinks from ice cold beer to a very good range off shorts .ie very good range in gins . The food is excellent tried almost all the menu from bacon buttys to sunday roast the fish and chip Friday is a winner for me ..Pop in and have a game off bingo on a Monday .Wednesday .Friday but remember to book a table and get your tea booked .. I am sure you would go back again . Reasonably priced both food and drinks .. very welcoming. I can't wait for my next visit ... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK its a 10 from me ..

I have to say this was the best bar I visited on my recent holiday to Tenerife. The staff were always polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food is to a very high standard at all times , always well presented and home cooked probably the best I have had on holiday! The variety of drinks is also incredible including 32 different types of gin I mean what more could you want !! There is a great atmosphere in the bar and the managers Sue and Steve are the best. The entertainment that they put on provides fun for all and its well worth a visit on these days as it is a right laugh!! Hope to return soon as I miss the place already :)

NEWS... BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Widow left ‘crying her eyes out’ after being stuck alone on cruise with ‘vomiting bug’ after husband’s death

Jill and Andrew Bond who are on the P&O Cruises Ventura ship allegedly hit by vomiting bug norovirus.

A widow was left in tears after being hit by a ‘vomiting bug’ on a P&O cruise she took alone for the first time since her husband’s death.

The woman in her 70s is one of hundreds of holidaymakers who allegedly became ill after a norovirus outbreak on P&O Cruises Ventura ship.

Being ill and alone on her first solo cruise is ‘soul-destroying,’ she told Metro.co.uk .

Jill Bond, 67, from Coventry, is also on the latest two-week cruise around Canary Islands with her husband Andrew Bond, 59.

She suffers from COPD so the ‘violent’ vomiting left he ‘quite worried’ as she threw up after using her inhaler.

Jill and Andrew Bond who are on the P&O Cruises Ventura ship allegedly hit by vomiting bug norovirus.

‘If I had the chance I would fly this morning, but I don’t want to give it to anyone else. I don’t want to spread it and sitting on a plane you can easily give it to other,’ she said.

Guests and crew have allegedly been affected for more than a month after a persistent bug that remains on the ship.

More than 150 guests isolated on board the latest cruise that left the UK on May 11, a source has alleged.

They told Metro.co.uk there have been 250 suspected cases of the vomiting bug in the last four days, with guests allegedly ‘throwing up in public spaces’ around the ship.

P&O Cruises said previously it implemented its ‘approved and enhanced’ sanitisation protocols after reports of ‘guests with gastrointestinal symptoms.’

The widow, who asked not to be named, said she isolated in her cabin alone for more than two days after getting ill with the bug on Wednesday, with staff bringing her food and water cans as she struggled with diarrhoea and vomiting.

Her cabin is still full of unsanitary rubbish and sheets unchanged as the cabin has not been cleaned for four days despite end her isolation on Friday, she claims.

More than 250 passengers 'vomitting from bug' after norovirus outbreak on cruise

She described the moment she was allowed to go out of her cabin: ‘I sat in a corner and cried my eyes out. I feel vulnerable sitting there. You should not feel like that when you’re on holiday.

‘It was my first P&O cruise and last, absolutely.’

The woman said it had been ‘difficult’ for her to make the trip ‘as it’s my first cruise, on my own, since losing my beloved husband in May 2022.’

The couple had been on four cruises and ‘used to fly all over as well.’

She paid around £3,000 for the cruise.

The 14-day voyage from Southampton around the Canary Islands has turned into a nightmare as ‘more and more people get sick,’ the source claimed.

But some guests ‘have left the ship to fly home,’ a source alleged.

More than 250 passengers 'vomitting from bug' after norovirus outbreak on cruise

Another woman, who is on the cruise with her 85-year-old mum who has underlying health conditions, said the pair are two ‘frightened’ to leave their cabin on the £4,400 trip in case they get ill.

She claimed ‘no one from P&O’ has been in touch and people are let go ‘off the ship to towns and cities spreading this virus.’

Andrew, a personal injury lawyer, said there was no ‘self-service anywhere’ and tables are being sprayed and wiped down after guests.

But he claimed he had seen people ‘refuse’ to use the hand sanitisation units and ‘still be allowed into food service areas so enforcement of the protection measures is poor to say the least.’

He continued: ‘Whatever steps they are taking on the Ventura are clearly not working and they really should have cancelled our cruise and should cancel all future cruises until they are absolutely certain that the norovirus has been eradicated.

‘If it has been on board for the past 4 or 6 weeks, it is clearly a problem with or on the ship and is nothing to do with the passengers because they change every 7 or 14 days but the norovirus is still there.’

While the mid-way of the cruise had been a ‘nightmare,’ Andrew and Jill were determined to make the ‘most of it’ as she was feeling better and slowly able to eat again.

Jill said the staff are ‘lovely’ and everyone is ‘helpful,’ but she could see the ‘look on their faces, they are not happy and cheerful like normally.’

‘They seem very strained,’ she added.

In letter sent on Thursday evening, captain James Brown offered £15 on-board credit to each guest to compensate for leaving the ship in Tenerife while it was cleaned.

The source at the ship said ‘this is a serious outbreak,’ saying the latest cruise was ‘the most we have had sick this time.’

‘We don’t know where it came from, it has been on board for a month maybe 5-6 weeks now and each cruise we think it has gone but more and more people get sick,’ they said.

Guests allegedly face a five-hour wait to call the ship’s medical centre because of ‘so many cases.’

More than 250 passengers 'vomitting from bug' after norovirus outbreak on cruise

They claimed that passengers have not received compensation.

All guests who contacted Metro said they planned to seek compensation.

A spokesperson for P&O Cruises said in a statement on Saturday: ‘We are so sorry that these guests have been affected. Obviously it not what we would want for anyone on board as one of our highest priorities is always the wellbeing of everyone.

‘It is though important to note the  UK Health Security Agency  (UKHSA) has reported a current increase in cases across the U.K. as a whole.

‘We have approved sanitisation protocols and adopt a phased and proven approach .

‘These wide range of approved protocols include constant and enhanced sanitation across the ship with specialist teams, isolating those affected, serving the buffet (instead of self service), closing the launderettes but offering complimentary washing and pressing and more.’

A two-week cruise on Ventura around the Canaries starts from around £1,129.

When the ship was launched, it was one of the largest cruise ships on the British market, with 1,550 cabins.

Southampton City Council, which maintains port health in the city’s harbour, was contacted for a comment.

Great food ,cheap beer and a wonderful service what more can a tourist ask for !!!! A great tem with Dave and the gang Wonderful complex beautiful gardens very well maintained........ Victoria Court 1 IS THE BEST We stayed at apartment 9A1 very well equiped

We stayed at these apts for the 1st 2 weeks of Jan 2012 so were daily visitors at the Cruise Inn. The food was great at fantastic prices, 2 breakfast for 5 euro what more can you say! The curries and beer battered fish were great as was the steak, they even do take away for those nights when you don't want to get all dressed up to go out. Pints for 1euro means this place makes you spending money last longer. Been to this complex a few times now & have already booked for nxt year.

I have visited Tenerife for a lot of years and nearly always stay on the complex where the cruise inn is situated, it has always been an amazing bar with so much fun to be had and with the newest owners this is no different ! With bingo on 3 times a week and other games like sticky and open the box there is always something to do on a night and money to be won!... other events are also held such as live music and a hypnotist. The owners are absolutely lovely and do they’re upmost to ensure everyone is happy. Very reasonably priced food and drink which is cooked to a great standard ! Can’t wait to go back !

A very nice bar with excellent food all day long . Very friendly and welcoming staff . Sport t.v events and relaxing atmosphere with a great choice of draft beers and a excellent gin bar a real must place to go

Well done to Steve & Sue on getting the bar up to such a great standard. Very clean. Bingo nights great fun. New menu coming along nicely. Cannot wait to be back. Very friendly bar. Loving the choice of gins too.

I was there for 17 days the food was amazing and the bar staff was very friendly. If I had my way I would go back tomorrow

A Volga river cruise is more than a geographical voyage; it’s also a journey through Russia’s rich and captivating history. No other experience takes you so completely to another place and time. The Volga is Europe’s longest and largest river; it meanders through the stories of Ivan the Terrible and his rise to power, the two historic ‘Greats’ Peter and Catherine, and then on into today. It’s a unique opportunity to see modern Russia in the context of its intriguing history, ably assisted by friendly and professional academics and tour guides. A Volga Dream Russian river tour promises to leave you with an unforgettable afterglow of fond memories.

St. Petersburg. Petehof

Moscow to St. Petersburg River Cruise

Moscow and St. Petersburg are Russia’s best-known cities, but the towns of Russia’s historic Golden Ring are delightful too. The luxurious Volga Dream offers a unique opportunity to visit these Russian gems by sailing gently along the Volga River on an unforgettable cruising experience. In small, exclusive groups you’ll enjoy preferential access to some of Russia’s most significant cultural sites.

Volgogard. Mamaev Hill

Moscow to Astrakhan River Cruise

Your River Cruise on the luxurious MS Volga Dream takes you from Moscow along Russia’s grand Volga River to the legend that is Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad) and Astrakhan on the Caspian Sea. Along the way, you’ll discover the treasures of Yaroslavl, the oldest city on the Volga, medieval Nizhniy Novgorod and beautiful Kazan, the ancient Tatar capital. We plan our tour carefully to combine the very best of Moscow with a world-class Volga River cruise.

cruise inn 2 tenerife

We love hearing from guests about their time in Russia and one comment often hear is how surprised people are by the Russian capital. We can’t say for certain what people expected but we do know that it’s always far removed from what they imagined! It’s been called a modern metropolis, a cosmopolitan city, an historic gem, an architectural treasure and a cultural powerhouse, among other descriptions. Majestic Moscow has always surprised our guests and left them with lasting and fond memories.

Russia’s famous Golden Ring is an archipelago of historic towns surrounding Moscow. Uglich is one of the oldest and was founded under Igor, the last Varangian prince. It once resisted the Mongol invasion and its ancient walls saw the grisly murder of young Dmitri, son of Ivan the Terrible. The impressive Church of St. Dmitri on the Blood, with its classic onion domes and blood red walls, is a fine example of classic Russian architecture. The tour ends with an enchanting choral concert.

This, the oldest city on the Volga River, and now a UNESCO World Heritage site, boasts a wealth of ancient orthodox treasures. The impressive Transfiguration of the Savior, adorned with murals depicting St. John’s apocalyptic visions can be seen in the Spassky Monastery. The Church of St. Elijah the Prophet is decorated with an awe-inspiring selection of rich frescoes. For a real taste of pre-revolutionary Russia, visitors are entertained by a costumed reception at the Governor’s House.

Close to the shores of White Lake once were the ‘tsar’s fishing grounds’. It lies in a place so serene that ancient monks chose to build no fewer than three holy sites here, including the Ferapontov Monastery. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, its chapels boast magnificent frescoes by Dionysius, one of Russia’s most renowned icon painters. The Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery was a refuge for many nobles during tumultuous times and later a fortress that successfully repelled invading armies.

The Karelia region is a vast and naturally beautiful wilderness that spreads all the way from St. Petersburg to the Arctic Circle. The glorious island village of Kizhi consists almost entirely of the traditionally styled wooden buildings of ‘Old Russia’. Among them is the famous Transfiguration Church built in 1714. Remarkably, and in testament to the craftsmen of the time, not a single nail was used in its construction! Kizhi is one of the favorite stops on the river cruise to St. Petersburg.

A typical rural hamlet brought to life by warm and welcoming villagers. Volga Dream guests are invited into local homes to enjoy classic Russian fare, tea with jam and ‘pirozhki’ (pies). Enthusiastic hosts share Russian traditions and the appeal of village life while proudly showing off their scrupulously kept homes and kitchen gardens. The tour continues with a brief bus ride to see a unique World War II memorial and then, for a real glimpse of Russian life, a visit to a local primary school.

Nizhny Novgorod

This was once a wealthy city thanks to its proximity to rich eastern trading routes. During the Soviet era, the city was closed to outsiders because of its military importance. It’s also where many political prisoners were sent to live out their days in exile. The 16th-century Kremlin ramparts offer spectacular views and the city is known for its elaborately decorated churches. For Volga Dream cruise guests, the highlight of the day is an evening folk concert performed by local children.

Sailing along the Volga river, the riverbank gradually ceases to be dominated by Orthodox churches. Instead, beautiful mosques appear as the river crosses into Tatarstan where the first stop is scenic Kazan, the region’s capital. Inside the white walls of the citadel, the famous Kul Sharif mosque and the old Cathedral of Peter and Paul stand side-by-side symbolizing the two faiths’ long and peaceful coexistence in the region. A concert of traditional Tatar music ends the Volga Dream tour in Kazan.

Passing the Zhigulevskie Mountains offers wonderful views from the sundeck before touring the city. One of the key attractions is the fascinating Space Museum, which offers a revealing glimpse of how the Soviet Union pursued its ambitious journey to the cosmos. The town is also noted for its beautiful esplanade, perfect for a relaxed stroll beside the Volga river. This in turn leads to the Samara State Art Museum. Founded in 1897, it is home to a collection of more than 16,000 works of art.

This city is best known for its close associations with cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin. The Russian hero who achieved worldwide fame as the first man in space lived and studied here. Saratov used to be home to a large German community, a heritage that can still be seen in the local architecture. The Volga Dream tour visits the Radishchev State Art Museum, the first picture gallery in Russia outside Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Originally called Tsaritsyn, the city was renamed Stalingrad from 1925 to 1961 in honor of the USSR’s leader. During World War II, the city’s residents put up a heroic defense, repelling an advancing Nazi invasion. The battle for Stalingrad has gone down in history as a pivotal moment in the bloody conflict on the eastern front. The most ferocious and deadly fighting took place on Mamayev Hill, where an imposing memorial now stands close to the excellent Battle of Stalingrad Panorama Museum.

Saint Petersburg

If Moscow surprises, then St Petersburg delights. Peter the Great founded the city to showcase Russia’s newfound enlightenment. He wanted to show the modern world a cultured and advanced society. In short, he built the city to impress and in that he succeeded splendidly! The striking buildings were designed by some of the finest architects Europe had to offer and even now, the ‘Venice of the North’ never fails to enchant with its spectacular buildings and impressive canal network. It is a city of true grandeur.

Cocktails with the Captain

Commanding any ship is a complex role that calls for a long list of skills. Captains know their vessels inside out as well as well as the routes they sail and when things don’t go to plan, they have to make instant decisions. Above all though, the most important part of the job, underpinning everything they do, is to keep the ship and everyone aboard safe. The Captain’s cocktail party is a great and a wonderful opportunity for passengers and crew to get acquainted as the gets underway.

Matryoshka doll painting

There is nothing more typically Russian than a Matryoshka. It embodies the fact that there’s always something deeper to be found in every aspect of Russian life. Learning the traditional designs and techniques used to decorate these iconic dolls offers a pleasant diversion and some cathartic creativity!

Superb Service & Dining

Our restaurant serves the highest standard of international cuisine, freshly made by our Cordon Bleu Chef. Choose either a sumptuous buffet or set menu for lunch while dinner is always four or five courses with full service. High praise for the exquisite quality of meals is yet another constantly recurring feature in feedback from our guests.

Meet the Professor

From the Mongol hordes to Soviet times, Russia’s history is, like all of Europe’s, a complex web of political intrigue, war and peace, trade and treaties, as well as heroes and villains. Academics devote whole lifetimes to studying Russia’s long past and one of them presents a series of lectures shedding light on everything from Gorbachev to Chekhov, Khrushchev to Ivan the Terrible and of course, contemporary Russia. Our Professor is on board throughout the river cruise for informal conversation.

Beginner’s Russian

The Russian language can be rather beautiful and poetic and we know that many seasoned travelers enjoy trying their hand at different languages. Our onboard teachers provide an introduction to the riches of Russian, so guests can try out a few useful words and phrases on real Russians during the exciting river tours from Moscow to St. Petersburg or from Moscow to Volgograd!

Russian tea tasting

The drink we tend to associate with Russia is vodka, but tea, in fact, is the much more universal beverage of choice throughout the country. Guests will get acquainted with the Russian tea etiquette, a fundamental component of the country's social culture, and enjoy the traditional tea ceremony while cruising from St. Petersburg to Moscow or taking a Grand Volga river tour.

Russian Dinner & Vodka Tasting

All our dining is international but for Russian Dining night, the Chef includes a selection of traditional Russian dishes: Chicken Kiev, Kulebyaka and no Russian table is complete without Borsch. To add to the ‘Taste of Russia’ optional Russian dress, or at least a touch of Russian style, is provided along with enthusiastic help from our staff!

Russian Cooking Class

A plate of pelmeni might not look like much to the untrained eye, but it forms the heart of Russian cuisine and culture. Basically, it's a type of dumpling: small portions of meat and onion wrapped in a thin sheet of unleavened dough and boiled, a little like ravioli. Guests can join a Russian cooking class onboard the MS Volga Dream to learn how to cook this delicious Russian dish.

Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov Piano Recital

Some of the greatest classical music ever written comes from Russia. It’s hard to imagine a more fitting stage for a virtuoso solo recital by our resident concert pianist than the mighty Volga or a better backdrop than the heart of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov’s own serene homeland.

Make this place a "must try" for food. I had lamb shank, it was delicious, I also had the fish n chips on Friday, absolutely delicious. This bar is a gem- tucked away on Victoria Court 1 complex. Will definitely be back there on my next visit to tenerife. The staff are very friendly and the bar is spotless.

Steve & Sue are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Food fantastic and not overpriced. Oh and make sure you try Steve's cocktails, the pina Colada is the best I've ever had!! Can't wait for next year.

Just got back from our family holiday. Spent a lot of time in Cruise Inn, lovely bar and great food ( you’ve got to try the sangria) Clean and friendly Sue, Ste and all the staff can’t do enough for you. Great location near bars, short walk from the beach and market. The complex is very clean, has a lovely pool and is well maintained. We will be visiting again shortly. 🌞🏖🍻🍹
