Light is powered by the auxiliary battery system. There is a power cord supplied with the vehicle, when plugged into an external power point at a camp site it will power the aircon, microwave and 110 volt outlets. Electric Generator. There is also a gasoline powered generator for use when other power is not available. The fridge, stove, oven, furnace and water heater are LP Gas powered.

“Had no problem traveling with it for 27 days. But there are some things i’d like to report. The door for the pans storage kept opening in closed curves, we had to tie it up with a scarf. It would be nice if there were a blower for the furnace under the table. We could not set the bed from the table, could not get the top loose. Fortunately, we were a couple with 2 kids and did not depend on this third bed.”

“ Really bad: old dirty lot of damages no bluetooth no usb at the dashboard so no way to listen music while travelling out of the cities (the kind you do with an RV) no gps available neither as optional (I had to buy one at Walmart!!). Refrig didn’t work properly, I had to throw away lot of stuff and had to spend other money at restaurants. Poorness of kitchen provisioning no pans at all, just few pots and no grill, I had to buy one to have a BBQ at the camping! NO value for money!!”

“A little bit “old” but very comfortable but perfect for driving coast to coast in 5 people. The cook rivets were Broken (and very dirty) , as well as the outside luggage lock (every night we took all our bags inside), the floor was not clean and the corner protection was broken in the bedroom area BUT the vehicle did work very well for several thousands miles we drove; spacious and comfortable. The fridge was working super well and we always had cool water and sodas. Nice product over all! ”

“Vehicle is a bit dated, pretty much the same equipment as 20 years ago. No bluetooth or satelite audio. Lots of noise while driving.. Rental price for optional add-on's such as camping chairs, personal kit, vehicle kit, etc is higher than buying equipment at Walmart and discarding at the end of a vacation. We were forced to pay 1/4 propane whereas we used only 1/8 but "system did not allow to charge anything less". It's only 17$ but still left a bad taste”

“The vehicle was so dirty that we had to clean everything with desinfectant before we would dare use it. Even the dishes had food remainders still on them. All surfaces were sticky or fatty. The depot service was unfriendly, rushing over everything when handing over the vehicle. During our trip we found that several things were not working: The 12V/120V converter, 2 electrical plugs, the microwave would shut down after heating 2 cups of water, water leaking through 2 of the windows in the roof.”

USA motorhome hire companies charge a mileage fee. You can pay this locally on a ‘per mile’ basis or pre-book a ‘mileage pack’ before you travel, which is usually a more cost effective option. Terms & Conditions

You must be over 21 and have a valid and identifiable driver’s licence. All drivers must be identified and authorised upon pick up of the vehicle (there is no cost for additional drivers). On collecting your motorhome, you will be asked to sign the hire company’s own terms and conditions of hire making the rental subject to a direct contract between each driver and the hire company. A basic refundable security deposit of $500 USD (increases to $1000 USD for Burning Man departures) and the use of a credit card to pay for all local charges and deposits are required at departure. Upon vehicle return, all extra charges are balanced against the security deposit and a credit will be issued to cover the refund.

Standard Hire Includes Standard liability insurance, public liability insurance, tax on all pre-paid items, daily rate, personal kits (includes: sleeping bags, pillows, sheets and towels), kitchen kit (includes: pots, pans, cookware and crockery), RV preparation fee and on the road support.

Hire Excludes Mileage charges, optional extras, generator usage one way fees and security deposit.

Length of Hire Minimum rental is 7 nights.

*COVERAGE SUMMARIES – USA DEPARTURES

Provided you abide by the Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement, report accidents and/or damage promptly, and avoid prohibited vehicle uses, your coverages include:

• Auto Liability  Statutory and excess Supplemental Liability Insurance up to $1,000,000.
• Vehicle Damage/Loss  Per occurrence or incident, up to $2,500 regardless of responsibility. You are covered for amounts in excess of $2,500 under most conditions.
• Trip Reimbursement  Travel Expenses incurred as a result of mechanical breakdown up to $3,000 per tour.

Ferry Restrictions

Ferry reservations can be difficult to manage during high season. We recommend that you make a reservation for at least a 30-foot vehicle on the ferry, irrespective of the size of motorhome reserved, to avoid problems due to possible upgrades.

Travel Restrictions

Coverages are invalid if problems occur in the following areas and all recovery expenses are at the client’s own cost. Violations of these restrictions void damage waivers and the client will be held liable for all vehicle damages including to tires, towing charges and other related expenses as a result of a breakdown associated with operating in these areas. Clients should consult the Renter Assistance Guide and the departure location personnel for complete information on travel restrictions and local circumstances at the time they collect their motorhome.

Alaska, Yukon & Northwest Territories & Newfoundland Travel on all public and/or numbered roads is permitted. Travel on non-public roads, unpaved back roads, trails and the like – commonly called ‘logging roads’ or on any surface subjecting the vehicle to unreasonable damage or road hazard is prohibited. Clients may receive further information from Cruise America regarding seasonal travel restrictions as well. We reserve the right to restrict travel, dependent on current road conditions.

Death Valley Vehicles may be operated with EXTREME CARE in Death Valley and other desert areas during the months of July and August. In Summer, clients visit these areas at their own risk and Cruise America will not be held responsible for extraordinary vehicle recovery and other charges. During certain periods these areas are not habitable and could pose a danger to the driver and passengers.

Manhattan Due to restrictions on vehicle heights, propane gas and parking, vehicles with propane are not permitted in Manhattan and are not permitted to travel through any underground or underwater tunnels.

Mexico You are strictly forbidden to take Cruise America vehicles across the US border to Mexico.

Voorwaarden Cruise America

De borg is USD 500 en deze wordt geblokt op de creditcard op het moment van het ophalen van de camper. Let op, dit bedrag gaat ten koste van de bestedingslimiet. Het bedrag wordt weer vrijgegeven bij het inleveren van de camper mits deze schoon, onbeschadigd en op tijd wordt ingeleverd. LET OP: Tijdens het Burning Man festival geldt een borg van USD 1000. Deze verhoogde borg is van toepassing vanaf alle locaties gelegen in Californië, Nevada, Washington, Oregon en Utah voor ophalen tussen 21/08/2024 tot 27/08/2024 en 20/08/2025 tot 26/08/2025. Hierop zijn geen uitzonderingen van toepassing.

Openingstijden

Maandag t/m zaterdag van 09.00 t/m 17.00 uur. Op zon- en feestdagen gesloten. De locaties in Anchorage en Halifax zijn tussen 08 oktober en 15 april gesloten voor de winter.

Annuleringsvoorwaarden

Annuleringsvoorwaarden zijn volgens de ANVR voorwaarden en onze aanvullende UStravel voorwaarden

Bestuurders moeten minimaal 21 jaar oud zijn. Er is geen toeslag voor bestuurders onder de 25 jaar en geen toeslag voor extra bestuurders.

Voor gebruik van de generator wordt $8.00 per dag berekend bij ongelimiteerd gebruik of $3,50 per uur achteraf.

Online check-in

Om ter plaatse tijd te besparen kun je bij Cruise America online inchecken. Doe dit zodra je van ons de reispapieren ontvangt. Hierop staat het reserveringsnummer dat je nodig hebt om online in te checken. Je hoeft alleen het Cruise America Reservation Number in te vullen. Online inchecken is mogelijk tot circa een week voor het ophalen van je camper.

Early Bird Departure Special

Hiermee word je al vroeg in de ochtend bij je accommodatie opgehaald (vanaf 08.30 uur) voor een transfer naar de verhuurlocatie. Vanaf 9.00 uur tot maximaal 12.00 uur begint de uitgifte van de campers, dus je kunt al lekker vroeg de weg op. Daarnaast heb je hiermee de mogelijkheid om de camper laat in te leveren, dit kan tot 15.00 uur. Tevens is een transfer naar je accommodatie (bij de luchthaven) of de luchthaven inbegrepen. Belangrijk: Te boeken tot uiterlijk 30 dagen voor ophalen. Je moet de dag voor ophalen bellen met de verhuurlocatie om je ophaaltijd af te stemmen.

Camperinventaris

De camperinventaris is inclusief: bezem, blikopener, vleesmes, koffiekopjes, vergiet, keukengerei, pannen, bestek, mengkom, soepkommen, zaklamp, fluitketel, glazen.

Beperkingen

Het is niet toegestaan om te reizen in de onderstaande gebieden: -Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories en Newfoundland: op niet-genummerde wegen en niet-openbare wegen, ongeplaveide wegen. Cruise America/Canada behoudt zich het recht voor restricties door te voeren, indien nodig. -Death Valley: in juli en augustus enkel met extreme voorzichtigheid en op eigen risico. In geval van ontstane schade/kosten, zijn deze voor de huurder. -Manhattan en New York City: tevens niet toegestaan hier door tunnels te rijden. -Mexico.

Camper ophalen

Maandag t/m zaterdag vanaf 13.00 uur (de tijd op zaterdag kan afwijken). Maandag t/m zaterdag tussen 9.00 en 12:00 uur bij de Early Bird Departure Special. De dag voor het ophalen van de camper maak je telefonisch een afspraak met de camperverhuurder over de transfertijd (alleen bij de EBDS).

Camper inleveren

Tussen 9:00 en 11:00 uur. Tussen 9:00 en 15:00 uur bij Early Bird Departure Special (de tijd op zaterdag kan afwijken).

Indien je geen gebruikt maakt van de Early Bird Departure Special, dien je op eigen kosten de transfer zelf te regelen. Ook wanneer je geen gebruik maakt van de Early Bird Departure Special moet je contact opnemen met de camperverhuurder om een afspraak te maken (vanaf 08:30 uur) voor het tijdstip van ophalen. Indien je wel gebruik maakt van de Early Bird Departure Special is de transfer inclusief. Je dient zelf een afspraak te maken om het transfertijdstip af te spreken. Het beste kun je dit al in Nederland regelen of uiterlijk de dag voor het ophalen.

Campers die worden opgehaald in gebieden waar temperaturen onder 0 komen, kunnen -afhankelijk van de temperaturen, maar doorgaans tussen oktober en april- reeds winterklaar zijn gemaakt. Dit betekent dat zich geen water in de leidingen bevindt en dat er geen water in de camper gebruikt kan worden tot het moment dat de temperaturen zowel overdag als 's nachts weer boven de 0 graden zijn. Roken is niet toegestaan in de campers van Cruise America.

Here is a road trip that will give you an idea of just what we’re talking about: The black and green walls of Hells Canyon plunge a spectacular 8,000 feet to the floor of the valley below. It makes its way along the Idaho-Oregon border aside the Seven Devils Mountain Range. Don’t miss out on a guided float trip, or a jet boat tour as you cruise between the massive walls of basalt in this massive canyon. Lake Coeur d’Alene (CDA) spans a whopping 26 miles, providing a shoreline of more than 135 miles long. You can enjoy swimming, boating, skiing, cruising on a guided tour of the lake, take a ride in one of the seaplanes, parasail, hike in the hills that stretch out into the lake, and then satisfy your hunger at one of the fine restaurants in the fabulous CDA Resort, or at one of the fine eateries all along the street that passes through the town. It only takes one glimpse of the cozy little downtown shopping area to make you warm up your checkbook! From old-time candy shops to exquisite antique dealer outlets, you’ll find it all in CDA. Oh, and there is plenty of great camping for your RV rental in the area. Silverwood Theme Park is not just an average run-of-the-mill theme park … it’s the largest of its kind in the entire Pacific Northwest! A large part of the park makes up the world-renowned waterpark, Boulder Beach Bay. That alone could keep your attention for days on end, and the entertainment and food in the park are rivaled only by the thrill rides that are waiting for you to board. And after all the action of the day, you can always retreat to the cool comfort of your motorhome rental from Cruise America. The Route of the Hiawatha This bike trail is an old converted rail-trail that meanders alongside the St. Joe River for 15 miles. You can cruise on your bikes over 7 beautiful trestle bridges and peddle through 10 train tunnels. And here’s the kicker … it’s all downhill, and shuttles are ready to pick you up at the end of the trail and take you back up the hill to your waiting rental RV! The Sawtooth National Recreation Area is the one of the best examples one could find to explore the Gem State of Idaho. In fact, it could serve as an entire family vacation! With 300 lakes that sit high in the mountains, to 700 miles of hiking trails just waiting to be conquered, there is no end to the many activities that await you in this exquisite area. The park consists of 756,000 acres, and offers camping, backpacking, fishing, boating and canoeing, rafting, observing nature, photography and bicycling. If you’d like to escape this world and head into an area of a more celestial feel, visit the Craters of the Moon park. It is virtually a huge ocean of lava-coated terrain where you’ll find lava tubes, cinder cones and fissures. You can head up the hill to the top of the inferno cone to gaze over the 750,000-acre wonder with all of its lava formations. Yellowstone Bear World is fairly descriptive of just what you get when you pull into this free-roaming habitat. You can get an up-close-and-personal view not only black bears and grizzly bears, but grey wolves, bison, elk, mule deer, white-tail deer and moose—all from the comfort and safety of your Cruise America rental motorhome. You’ll even get the opportunity to pet some little bear cubs! The water of Idaho’s Shoshone Falls plunges a whopping 212 feet, which makes it even taller than Niagara Falls! It is best viewed in summer and spring when the water is flowing at its greatest levels. There is great camping in the area for your RV rental, as well as playgrounds, neat and clean picnic areas, hiking trails and a swimming area. Oh, and don’t miss the spectacular overlook for a grand family photo op. To take a gander at one of Mother Nature’s best balancing act, drive your class C rental motorhome to Balanced Rock. It’s one of the most bizarre formations you’ll ever lay eyes on. It is a 40-ton rock that is precariously balanced on its small, skinny base. The rock stands 48’ tall, and for millenniums has been slowly etched by blowing sand and the various elements. For one last adventure on your Idaho road trip, visit Bruneau Sand Dunes State Park. It was more than 12,000 years ago that the Bonneville flood waters receded, leaving a great deal of sand behind. The wind eventually carried the sand to Bruneau Basin, and now Bruneau Dunes State Park can lay claim to the highest single-structured sand dune on the entire North American Continent. Also in the park is Idaho’s largest observatory, where you can star gaze, then rent a sandboard and sand surf down the 470-foot dune. Moscow city is well known for architecture, particularly its historic buildings like Saint Basil's Cathedral. With over 40% of its territory covered by greenery, it's one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world. Moscow is the seat of power of the Russian Government, being the site of Moscow Kremlin, a medieval city-fortress that is now the residence of the President of Russia. Moscow Kremlin and Red Square are among the several World Heritage Sites in the city. 

Moscow has 2 passenger terminals, North River Terminal (Rechnoy vokzal) and South River Terminal. The regular ship routes and cruises along Moskva and Oka rivers are used mostly for entertainment. North River Terminal (1937-built) is currently the main hub for long-range routes along the river. There are 3 freight ports that serve Moscow.

In late-July 2021 the city announced plans to incorporate a fleet (unspecified number) of fully electric passenger ferries into its public transportation network from summer 2022, the goal being to reduce the dependence on cars.

• The boats are designed with length ~22 m (72 ft), passenger capacity 42, modern amenities (Wi-Fi, USB charging points, tables for working commuters), spaces for storing scooters and bicycles.
• Moscow Transport confirmed that two routes (with max daily capacity ~16,000 passengers) have already been mapped out.
• Passengers will be able to pay via bank cards, the city’s Troika card (smart card for travel by any public transportation) or biometric payment cards. Those with monthly/yearly public transit tickets will use the boats at no extra cost.
• The new electric ferry service is up to 5 times faster (in comparison to other city public transports) and ~2 times faster than by car.

Moscow cruise terminal

Moscow's cruise terminal is called North River Terminal or River Station  ("Rechnoy Vokzal" / "речной вокзал").

The terminal was opened in 1937 and is one of 2 passenger terminals (the other being South River Terminal) of the city's river transport. North River Terminal is the main hub for long-range (including cruise) shipping routes.

Cruising the Moskva River: A short guide to boat trips in Russia’s capital

There’s hardly a better way to absorb Moscow’s atmosphere than on a ship sailing up and down the Moskva River. While complicated ticketing, loud music and chilling winds might dampen the anticipated fun, this checklist will help you to enjoy the scenic views and not fall into common tourist traps.

How to find the right boat?

There are plenty of boats and selecting the right one might be challenging. The size of the boat should be your main criteria.

Plenty of small boats cruise the Moskva River, and the most vivid one is this yellow Lay’s-branded boat. Everyone who has ever visited Moscow probably has seen it.

This option might leave a passenger disembarking partially deaf as the merciless Russian pop music blasts onboard. A free spirit, however, will find partying on such a vessel to be an unforgettable and authentic experience that’s almost a metaphor for life in modern Russia: too loud, and sometimes too welcoming. Tickets start at $13 (800 rubles) per person.

Bigger boats offer smoother sailing and tend to attract foreign visitors because of their distinct Soviet aura. Indeed, many of the older vessels must have seen better days. They are still afloat, however, and getting aboard is a unique ‘cultural’ experience. Sometimes the crew might offer lunch or dinner to passengers, but this option must be purchased with the ticket. Here is one such  option  offering dinner for $24 (1,490 rubles).

If you want to travel in style, consider Flotilla Radisson. These large, modern vessels are quite posh, with a cozy restaurant and an attentive crew at your service. Even though the selection of wines and food is modest, these vessels are still much better than other boats.

Surprisingly, the luxurious boats are priced rather modestly, and a single ticket goes for $17-$32 (1,100-2,000 rubles); also expect a reasonable restaurant bill on top.

How to buy tickets?

Women holding photos of ships promise huge discounts to “the young and beautiful,” and give personal invitations for river tours. They sound and look nice, but there’s a small catch: their ticket prices are usually more than those purchased online.

“We bought tickets from street hawkers for 900 rubles each, only to later discover that the other passengers bought their tickets twice as cheap!”  wrote  (in Russian) a disappointed Rostislav on a travel company website.

Nevertheless, buying from street hawkers has one considerable advantage: they personally escort you to the vessel so that you don’t waste time looking for the boat on your own.

Prices start at $13 (800 rubles) for one ride, and for an additional $6.5 (400 rubles) you can purchase an unlimited number of tours on the same boat on any given day.

Flotilla Radisson has official ticket offices at Gorky Park and Hotel Ukraine, but they’re often sold out.

Buying online is an option that might save some cash. Websites such as  this   offer considerable discounts for tickets sold online. On a busy Friday night an online purchase might be the only chance to get a ticket on a Flotilla Radisson boat.

This  website  (in Russian) offers multiple options for short river cruises in and around the city center, including offbeat options such as ‘disco cruises’ and ‘children cruises.’ This other  website  sells tickets online, but doesn’t have an English version. The interface is intuitive, however.

Buying tickets online has its bad points, however. The most common is confusing which pier you should go to and missing your river tour.

“I once bought tickets online to save with the discount that the website offered,” said Igor Shvarkin from Moscow. “The pier was initially marked as ‘Park Kultury,’ but when I arrived it wasn’t easy to find my boat because there were too many there. My guests had to walk a considerable distance before I finally found the vessel that accepted my tickets purchased online,” said the man.

There are two main boarding piers in the city center:  Hotel Ukraine  and  Park Kultury . Always take note of your particular berth when buying tickets online.

Where to sit onboard?

Even on a warm day, the headwind might be chilly for passengers on deck. Make sure you have warm clothes, or that the crew has blankets ready upon request.

The glass-encased hold makes the tour much more comfortable, but not at the expense of having an enjoyable experience.

Getting off the boat requires preparation as well. Ideally, you should be able to disembark on any pier along the way. In reality, passengers never know where the boat’s captain will make the next stop. Street hawkers often tell passengers in advance where they’ll be able to disembark. If you buy tickets online then you’ll have to research it yourself.

There’s a chance that the captain won’t make any stops at all and will take you back to where the tour began, which is the case with Flotilla Radisson. The safest option is to automatically expect that you’ll return to the pier where you started.
