6 month visit visa Dubai

Are you one of those people who are worried about how to stay in Dubai for three months? Do you also want to know whether Dubai allows a six-month visa or not? Do you wish to know the process of obtaining a visa for six months in the UAE?

The answer to the question is that it is possible to get a 6-month visa in Dubai if you are a professional, a bright student, an investor or an entrepreneur. However, even if you do not belong to any of these categories, it is still possible to live for six months in Dubai by contacting a local tourism agency. You can opt for the extension that gives you the option to stay there for six months without exit.

1. Six months visit visa in UAE for visitors belonging to a special category

On July 17, 2019, an official spokesperson of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship mentioned an important point. People visiting UAE can now renew their six-month visa for multiple entry visits for another six months if they apply through the system of Ministry of Interior e-channels.

3. Application process

· Submit your visa application through Echannels or the immigration system

A significantly expanded Golden Visa scheme is among the new reforms that went into effect on October 3. Several amendments have been introduced to the scheme, allowing more categories of people to get the coveted 10-year visa.

More skilled professionals can get the long-term residency, with the minimum monthly salary requirement dropping from Dh50,000 to Dh30,000.

Investors can get the Golden Visa when purchasing a property worth at least Dh2 million, even with a loan from “specific local banks”. Off-plan properties are allowed from “approved local real estate companies”.

The ‘Advanced Visa System’ offers new advantages to holders of the long-term residency, including the Golden Visa being valid despite staying out of the country for more than six months; no cap on the number of sponsored domestic workers; and family members being able to stay in the country during the visa's validity period even after the sponsor (holder of the Golden Visa) dies.

Potential Golden Visa holders can get a six-month, multiple-entry visa that can help them with issuing the long-term residency. According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) website, the permit can be “extended for a similar period to facilitate the completion of procedures for obtaining a golden residency”.

It includes the following categories:

  • Investors (public investments/real estate investor)
  • Entrepreneurs (owner and founder of a project)
  • Specialised talents (doctors/scientists)
  • Creative specialists in culture and art
  • Specialists in priority scientific fields
  • Ph. D holders
  • Specialists in the fields of engineering and science
  • Outstanding students (high school/university students)

The fee for the service is Dh1,150. People from around the world eligible for the long-term UAE residency can apply for the entry permit on the ICP website. Issuance fees will be refunded only if the application is rejected by the ICP.

If you’re a job seeker hoping to find a job in UAE , you can apply for a 6-month temporary visa so that you can legally stay in the country for 6 months and look for a work that fits you. For most of us, 6 months is really long time, especially that the only purpose you’re getting a visa is to look for a job. Stating the fact, you can actually get a job in just 1-2 months in Dubai if you’re a keen seeker.

Requirements for Getting a 6-Month Visa

The first step is to check whether you are qualified to apply for this temporary visa. As a basic requirement, you should be willing to apply for amnesty in Dubai. Then, you should visit the nearest TASHEEL center where you will submit the following documents:

  • Original passport
  • Copy of Visa or Visa Status
  • Copy of Emirates ID for those who have employment visa
  • Passport photos
  • 640 AED for the payment

Is the 6-Month Temporary Visa Renewable?

Unfortunately, no. you can only get this temporary visa once. When expired, you can either apply for a new residence visa if you find your employer or apply for a visit visa instead. As the director of Residence Affairs at the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Al Rashid, said: “People seeking employment can avail of the privilege to obtain a six-month temporary visa through the “Protect Yourself by Modifying your Status” amnesty initiative if they have a sponsor. But if they don’t find a job within that period, they will have to leave the country and maybe return on visit visa because temporary visas cannot be renewed on expiration.”

As a responsible citizen of your own country, it won’t be that hard to follow these provisions uncovered by the UAE authorities. Applying for the temporary visa is simple and once it has expired, you still have the option to whether to renew a residence visa or visit visa. The emirate has a lot of alternatives for you, so as to say. If in case you still stayed in the country without a new visa, be prepared to face punishments.

This New Multi-Nation Visa Will Grant Tourists Entry to Six Gulf Countries

H opping between Gulf countries could soon be as easy as traveling through Europe's Schengen Area : just flash your passport at the entry point and seamlessly travel from one country to the next—no extra paper work required.

Six countries in the Persian Gulf region recently agreed to create a shared visa for travelers, meaning foreign tourists would need just a single passport visa to enter all six of the neighboring nations.

The participating countries include the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain , Oman , Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar —meaning tourists could soon visit Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, see Saudi Arabia’s ancient city of Diriyah or the intricately hewn sandstone tombs at Hegra, and camp bedouin-style in the Qatari desert all in one fell swoop—without the bureaucratic headache of multiple visa applications. The only Gulf country to not participate in this is Iraq.

These six nations already have close ties, and together make up the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a regional union that cooperates on certain economic and governance matters. The current GCC president, Sayyed Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, first announced that the council had approved the joint visa plan back in November 2023. Now, officials estimate the new multi-nation visa could launch as soon as later this year or early 2025.

The joint visa could help increase international tourism to the countries, “especially to Bahrain and Kuwait as well as Oman, which currently do not offer direct flights from and to the US,” says Amalia Lazarov , a travel specialist at Travelicious who plans luxury trips through the Gulf nations.

Currently, each country has a range of visa policies for American tourists. In Qatar and Kuwait, US leisure travelers can apply for a free visa on arrival, while Saudi Arabia requires American tourists to pay a fee of about $128. Bahrain and Oman also grant free visas on arrival to Americans, but they’re only valid for two weeks (the US State Department advises tourists to apply for them online before travel).

The majority of the six countries have undertaken a concerted effort to grow tourism numbers in the past few years. Saudi Arabia, for instance, opened its borders to international tourists for the first time in 2019, while Qatar’s tourism industry was turbocharged when it hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Both of these milestones have brought a flurry of high-end hotel properties and other tourist infrastructure projects, including luxury trains through the desert , new cruise terminals, and ambitious conservation projects . Meanwhile, travelers have never been more interested in visiting the UAE city of Dubai, which hosted a record-breaking number of tourists last year: More than 17.1 million travelers visited the sprawling metropolis in 2023.

Because they offer advantages for both travelers and the destination, joint visa policies seem to be growing in popularity. Aside from the Gulf nations’ plan, a similar idea was floated among six nations in Southeast Asia earlier this spring. That effort, which the prime minister of Thailand unveiled in April, would allow travelers a single visa to enter Thailand , Vietnam , Cambodia , Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar.
