mercedised

Just searched the forum and did'nt found any thread related to problems faced by Safari owners. The thread is created to bring out the issues being faced with Safari so as to help members better tackle them with. Recently I had given the car for service and had several issues: 1) AC not working. 2) Clutch oil leaking 3) Several oil leaks. 4) Left pulling. (This has not been solved from several thousand kms)

Dear All I am starting this thread so that all the Storme owner can come to one platform and share what all the issues they faced till now and what are the possible solutions. I would request all the Storme owners and other knowledgful members to please contribute NB: Mukesh, Decool, Navdoon, Guralla Sir, Iron rock sir, The Xover, Hillbilly, rajdeep, sanjaysg, urbanoffroader special participation is desired Let me start the problem faced by me till now and their solutions, completed (2400km+) FE: In city 11kmpl Highway 13+kmpl 1) Remote of music system is not working (waiting for replacement from Tata Motors from last 10days) 2) Bluetooth mike is not working (waiting for replacement from Tata Motors from last 10days) 3) Lighter fuse blown up (replaced immediately)

@mercidised Regarding your problem 1) Their could be problem of gas leak/ AC grill kindly check the same i think it is being covered in the warranty. One of the Dicor owner faced the same problem and TASC just keep refilling the AC gas but actually the grill was faulty. 2) Regarding issue 2 and 3 there is a possibility that oil seal is not proper/ Kaput. 3) Regarding issue 4 kindly go for wheel balancing and alignment hope it will get resolved. Please let me know how many km is there on the odometer

The monk

Is this thread still alive?? coz i have a lot to report!

@The Monk: The problems you have mentioned will ocour only if there is block in Electronic valve and choaking od Cat Con. What was the reason for damages in ECU wire? Check the quality of fuel you use and Its safe that you change the filling station where your regularly fill fuel. Did you get an solution for the third problem?

Every problem i mentioned was sorted out by replacing wires that were damaged/cut by rodents as i mentioned, vehicle working fine now buddy.

Hi.... I have two questions to be answered, please help 1) Some auto jukies have recommended to put 2T oil along with diesel. Is it a good thing to do? If we can mix then what care to be taken 2) My service light keeps coming up and stays for 1-2 secs and vanishes. This happens on certain locations on my daily route to work. I gathered these areas are grey patches (where cell phone networks drop drastically) could this be the reason? Please reply

Jassida, modern diesel cars have particulate filters. The oil will just clog the particulate filter. Make sure your diesel car doesn't have a particulate filter if you wish to mix 2T oil into it. Have you read your owners manual about what the service light indicates? Check the level of engine oil and gear oil.Check if your glow plugs are working. The ECU and ABS are prone to electromagnetic interference.A simple experiment to try would be to locate the ECU/ECM and cover it with aluminium foil. Then check if you face the service light issue when passing through the grey patches you mentioned.

jassida said: Hi.... My service light keeps coming up and stays for 1-2 secs and vanishes. This happens on certain locations on my daily route to work. I gathered these areas are grey patches (where cell phone networks drop drastically) could this be the reason? Please reply Click to expand... Jessida, service light for safari is towards left and Malfunction Indicator towards right of instrumentation panel. If it is malfunction indicator than it will create a log for malfunction in engine exhaust system which may lead to catalytic converter damage. But, if it is service light then you need to rush it to nearest service centre. If TASC is unable to diagnose, then perhaps phone network needs to be blamed!

Thanks guys. I enquired with my mechanic he said not to put any thing in the diesel as the EMC detects faulty fuel and may cause some serious harm, As it did to one of the beasts (safari) he worked on due to the same negligence of a enthusiast. @the Monk, buddy its the service light (yellow) not the Malfunction light (red) and the Service light is not on for beyond 2 secs and like i mentioned this happens only in specific areas of my daily route. Will try the aluminum foil technique.

Have you tried the aluminium foil? Do report back on its effectiveness.

safarifan

ive completed 13K kms with my beast. faced minor issue. water drops are coming inside during long trip with AC on. I felt the water drops in my feet during the long drive. I think some other storme owner also faced this issue before. Apart from sponge solution suggested by TASS is there any permanent solution for this?

Tata has drafted in a successor to the Safari after 14 long years. But is it good enough to revive the carmaker's fortunes in the SUV segment?

Tata Safari Storme review, test drive

New dash design looks modern and quality has taken a big leap over the old car.

Tata Safari Storme review, test drive

The car you see here is the new Safari Storme. It looks like a facelift, but underneath, it is completely different from its predecessor. This is both a good thing and a bad thing, as you will soon see. Built on Tata’s hydroformed body-on-frame X2 platform, the Safari promises to be a whole lot better to drive and a lot more refined too. Prices start at Rs 9.9 lakh for the base 4x2 and go on to Rs 13.7 lakh for this top-end 4x4 VX. Question is, do the new underpinnings help the Safari take the big leap into the present?

At Rs 1.85 lakh, the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z is the most affordable 40hp bike in India. Would you pick it over similarly priced bikes with less power and features?

Yes, 40hp at this price is unheard of!

No, it's a decade-old bike in a revamped suit.

Great value but doesn't look unique enough.

Tata Safari Storme Interior Review

facebook

Clamber into the Tata Safari Storme and you immediately feel the uplifted ambiance of the cabin. The interiors are all beige and that for a typical Indian customer means rich.

Tata Safari Storme interior

[Interior quality and design have greatly improved but uneven panel gaps do exist]

The Safari Storme's cabin is a much better place to be, compared to the old Safari. The dashboard layout and design are hugely improved and are ergonomically sound.

Tata Safari Storme headlamp controls

[Headlamp controls are shifted to dashboard to make way for audio controls]

The overall quality of the plastics is clearly several notches above the previous car but still uneven panel gaps are to be found here and there. There are few low rent bits scattered around the cabin like the tacky AC vent adjustor and poor quality control stalks.

Tata Safari Storme clock

[The analogue clock is neatly placed and the new center console looks much better]

As far as the design is concerned, the four-spoke steering wheel with silver inserts is new and can be adjusted for rake. The all-new centre console is finished in faux wood and houses a neatly integrated analogue clock and centre AC vents, the controls for the HVAC, and an Alpine music system (we will talk about it a little later). There are two bottle holders ahead of the gear knob; also there is a useful storage compartment above the centre console.

Tata Safari Rear AC vents

[The AC has an economy mode the spread is quick and even throughout the cabin]

The dashboard is split horizontally by a faux wood strip and the side AC vents have silver highlights. The beige color does a good job of providing an airy feel but on the flipside, it becomes responsible for the annoying glare on the front windshield.

Tata Safari Storme rear armrest

[Rear arm rest contains a storage space; The rear AC controls are mounted on the roof]

The front seats are high, very comfortable with lumbar adjustment and offer a good view of the road. If you fancy a truck like driving position, the driver’s seat has height adjustment. Both the front seats get armrests and the driving position is nice and comfortable.

Tata Safari Storme jump seats

[Jump seats are only for children and the space is better used with the seats folded]

The controls for the headlamps are now shifted to the dashboard, below the right AC vent, to make way for the audio controls on the stalk. Now that brings us back to the Alpine music system. It has Bluetooth connectivity and the sound quality from the speakers is excellent.

Tata Safari Storme foot well

The Tata Safari was always known for its superb middle row of seats and in fact that was one of the primary strengths of this SUV. We are happy to inform that hasn’t changed with the Storme. The rear seats are supremely comfortable as always, with adequate thigh support and easily pass the test as the best in the segment. The legroom is ample even with the front seats pushed all the way back.

Tata Safari Storme second row comfort

The Safari Strome’s rear passenger compartment contains two jump seats which are large enough for children but the adults will start complaining in few minutes into the journey. The step provided is totally useless while alighting and hence the jump seats are strict no no for senior citizens.

Fold the seats and the luggage space available is adequate and the net provided is useful in preventing the things from flying around.

Overall, the cabin quality is a big leap ahead, the space on offer is fantastic and the design of interiors has improved from the old car, a lot more than the new exterior suggests.

All Parts Made From Top Quality Materials

Rigorously Tested, Inspected, and Guaranteed 100%

Why Choose 2000 GMC Safari Cargo AC Control Panel?

When it comes to replacing parts on your vehicle, you have two main options: OEM used auto parts or aftermarket parts. While aftermarket parts may seem like a more economical choice, there are several compelling reasons why OEM used auto parts are the better option.

Guaranteed Fit and Quality: OEM used auto parts are the same parts that were originally installed in your vehicle by the manufacturer. This means that they are designed and engineered specifically for your make and model, ensuring a perfect fit and seamless integration with your vehicle's systems. Aftermarket parts, on the other hand, may not always meet the same stringent quality standards and fit specifications, potentially leading to compatibility issues or premature wear and tear.

Reliability and Durability: OEM used auto parts have already proven their reliability and durability in real-world driving conditions. These parts have been rigorously tested and have met the manufacturer's strict quality control measures. Aftermarket parts, while potentially less expensive, may not offer the same level of reliability and may need to be replaced more frequently, ultimately costing you more in the long run.

Maintaining Factory Specifications: By using OEM used auto parts, you can ensure that your vehicle's performance, safety, and emissions standards remain in line with the manufacturer's specifications. Aftermarket parts may not adhere to these specifications, potentially causing your vehicle to operate outside of its intended parameters, which could lead to decreased performance, safety concerns, or even legal issues.

Preserve Resale Value: If you plan on selling your vehicle in the future, using OEM used auto parts can help preserve its resale value. Potential buyers will be more confident in the vehicle's condition and maintenance history when they see that genuine OEM parts were used for repairs and replacements.

Wdarranty and Support: Many OEM used auto parts come with warranties or support from the manufacturer or authorized dealerships. This added protection can give you peace of mind and potentially save you money if any issues arise. Aftermarket parts may not offer the same level of warranty or support, leaving you with limited options if problems occur.
