We had a wonderful trip with Red, he took us out and constantly tried to get us in good spots to see whales. He worked very hard to make sure we get the trip worth. No kidding, I'll say we got more of what we expected! He went above and beyond. Afterward, he took us to good snorkeling spot where we saw a mantra ray and sea turtles! We will do this tour again when we bring our family with us.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the guide was EXTREMELY hard to hear. I could tell he meant well, but he was often several feet in front and facing away from us when talking. It became comical. At one point, someone in our group said: "WHO is he talking to?". He also didn't offer the snacks but ate some himself. Pretty funny. And then at the end he asked for a tip (which I was planning to give already) but it felt weird to be asked. I assume he's had bad experiences before with folks not tipping. On an extremely positive note, the whales were plentiful and our guide knew just what to do once they arrived on the scene. We found a "singer" (a male humpback who was singing) and just floated in our kayaks atop his amazing song. I have heard whale song while snorkeling, which is AMAZING, but hearing it above the water? Totally next-level awe. To realize that this massive mammal was underneath us, singing away. Talk about a joy-bomb! While we did not get a breach on this particular trip (always hoping for that!) we did see several whales swimming by and some dolphins as well. AND, a mamma whale teaching her baby the fin-slapping behavior necessary for their communication and survival. At one point she was on her back with both enormous fins slapping down together and them one tiny baby whale fin following suit, all about 100 feet in front of us. Magical. Then, our guide brought us to the exact spot where turtles get cleaned by fish (called the "cleaning station") and we snorkeled in to see two large sea turtles doing just that. So amazing. All in all, I felt truly gifted on this trip. A note to the reviewer who was disappointed about the lack of whales and anyone else who expects to see them: Whale season is December to March so you will not see them outside of these parameters and you have less of a chance to see them on either end of the season. They migrate to Alaska at other times. Jan-Early March is the best time to see them. That should be made clear by all touring companies, though!!

We had a great experience with this kayak tour. They texted us an hour before to confirm the meeting location on Olawalu Beach. Everyone (except for 1 single rider) was placed in 2-person kayaks. We paddled out and it was a beautiful day -- no wind, calm waters. We paddled to a few different spots and could see whales in the distance all around us. We did have a few closer encounters, including a male whale that surfaced right in the middle of our group! That was quite a surprise and wow, what an amazing experience! We also saw bottlenose dolphins twice -- jumping and doing their thing relatively close. Then we paddled back over to the reef and whoever wanted to snorkel could. The guides pointed out the best spots and I saw a group of 4 turtles hanging out which was pretty fun! The guides gave good instructions so that everything went smoothly -- launching and returning the kayaks to the beach, getting in & out of the kayaks in the ocean for snorkeling, etc. We have experience kayaking on rivers, but this ocean experience was a first for us. All went smoothly!

Husband and I had an amazing day with Lance. We spotted whales (it's end of March), many turtles and a ton of tropical fish on the reef. Probably the highlight of our trip thus far! I even have some great underwater video of a few turtles visiting me just inches away. The most coolest creatures ever!! The camera they provided was at a small extra cost, which in my case was well worth it. They also had a dry bag for some of my stuff. So that was useful in case I had to reapply sun screen or bust out my own iPhone for pics. Lance was great in explaining a lot about what to expect, some experiences and pointed out parts of the island. He went with our pace (which was pretty fast) and didn't rush us at all. But it IS a decent work out, so expect that. Whales come and go and something that can't be controlled but we sure did get lucky. Thanks Red and Lance for an awesome experience.

This trip got pushed back multiple times. We were supposed to start at 7:30 and didn't end up checking in till 9. We thought this would extend the end of the trip, but it did not we still were done before noon. Both of our guides bickered/fought on the trip as we paddled out into the ocean and on the way back. We didn't do a whole lot. All we did was paddle out and then sit and float for the majority of the trip which was very boring. The guides forgot the "water and granola bars" so we weren't given the water and snack we were supposed to get. The snorkeling wasn't good due to conditions. On the way back to the beach one of the guides led us out of the channel into the waves, one group got stuck on a reef, and the guide following the end of our group was yelling at everyone to quit following the guide out front and move over. Then when we got to the beach the owner Red and the main guide from our trip were fighting and almost ended up throwing punches. It was a struggle to even get our gear turned back in. Very disappointed after reading past reviews and booking this trip. Not worth the money or time. Would at least have expected a partial refund. Our time was cut shorter than we paid for, water wasn't packed, snacks weren't packed, service was poor and very unprofessional.

We really had no intention of signing up for a kayaking tour during our trip. But the idea of a "whale" watching kayak tour sold us. We were excited at the possibility of seeing whales from kayaks. The confirmation text the night before hinted to this would not be a whale watching tour, then once we arrived no mention of whales at all. We were just told we would be taken to look for turtles and fish, big dissapiontment. Are guide was nice but didnt stay to close and it was hard to hear his instructions as he spoke away from us. We get that whales arent guaranteed, but the lack of attempt and the failure to even mention whales was poor service. Overall not what was advertised or expected.

They were prepared with everything needed. Explained all aspects thoroughly for those who are novelist. Once in the water they helped spot and or get you to the turtles so everyone was able to experience the show. Unfortunately we didn't see any whales but it's a little early in the season. If you're older or not experienced don't let that stop you from enjoying this experience, they will help you. Thank you for changing my reservation so I could go out today!

Great way to spend a morning in paradise. Paddling out on the calm crystal clear water surrounded by whales of all sizes. Last time I saw that many blowholes was on spring break ! Jokes aside, tour guides were funny and knowledgeable. You can tell they love what they do. Bonus was snorkeling with tropical fish and turtles. Definitely recommend

Mom and baby whale

This was so much fun. Saw (and listened to!) a few whales and snorkeled with the turtles. It was a bit much for our six year old, but Red and Wes were super helpful and accommodating. Would definitely do this again!

We loved this experience. The water was crystal clear so you could see a lot of things from in the kayak but we also stopped at 3 places to snorkel/further explore. Our tour guide allowed us to stay as long as we wanted especially when we were spotting a lot of turtles. We saw a lot of cool fish and the instructor kept diving down and bringing up various neat things for us to touch... This was one of his (my husband's) favorite things on this trip!

A great combination of sea kayaking and snorkeling. We had 6 in our group ranging from 21 to 76 and booked a private tour... Turtle encounters were unbelievable, and we saw upwards of 10-12 different turtles during the tour. The guide was very knowledgeable about the areas history and the sea life, and adjusted the pace and timing based on our abilities.

We had an awesome time on our kayaking trip. The ocean got a bit rough when the wind picked up and it was hard to keep up at times (we had never kayaked before) but it was well worth it. We got to see Maui from a completely different vantage point and it was just beautiful. Our guide, Nathan, was the best!

The paddle was relaxing and when we arrived at the first snorkeling location we were not disappointed. Plenty of turtles and other interesting fish. Steve was particularly helpful with those who had limited experience and was great with the children on the tour as well. He was also adept at making the trip an educational experience as well.. Definitely worth checking out!

What a great time! Garrett was a great tour guide. He knew what we needed to know to be safe as well as lots of info about the surrounding islands. We had an amazing time swimming with the turtles! I would recommend this trip to everyone! So amazing!

We went on a 4.5 hour kayak tour. What a fantastic experience! We did some whale watching & saw a mother whale nursing her calf...pretty cool. Garret shared lots of relevant facts & information along the way. We then snorkeled at two different spots- both were beautiful. It's hard to describe the peacefulness and sheer awe of swimming with sea turtles (yes, WITH!) while hearing the whales singing under the water...pure bliss!

We had a great time kayaking and snorkeling in West Maui with Maui Eco Tours. It was our second time kayaking in Maui, so we went to a different spot than last time. We didn't get to see as many sea turtles as we did the first time since the tide was a little murky but Jake, our guide did show us some awesome fish and a really cool coral. I would definitely recommend!

Learn to Surf in Maui!

Private Maui Surf Lessons  offer a much more personalized approach than the paint-by-numbers “Maui Surf Schools” in Kihei , Lahaina and Ka’anapali where you’re just another face in the crowd.  

At Paddle Maui, our surf instructors take you to a more  secluded surf break  where you can learn to surf at your pace. You’ll learn how to really surf – not just stand up on a board. Our   private Maui surf lessons  guarantee five guests or less per surf instructor. If your group includes more than five people you’ll get another surf instructor.

Your surf instructor will teach you all about proper surf etiquette, how the waves form and how to tell which direction they go, waiting for the right wave and how to catch it. We’re so confident you’ll be surfing by the end of one easy lesson that if you don’t you’ll get a second surfing lesson for FREE.

Exploring Maui’s scenic coastline and marine life on a Stand Up Paddle Board is an amazing way to immerse yourself in Hawaii’s natural beauty. We’ll take you and your paddle board to Olowalu or Makena for   Private Stand Up Paddle Board   (SUP)   Tours   and   SUP   Lessons .

Because everyone has different fitness and comfort levels in the ocean, your paddle board instructor or guide will tailor your   Stand Up Paddle  experience to your personal skills and preferences. We can go as far and as fast as your ability allows, or take it slow and mellow – without having to worry about what anyone else is doing.

Experience Authentic Hawaiian Culture

Experience authentic Hawaiian culture on a   Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Tour . Your guide will regale you with ancient Maui legends and stories while you paddle out to sea on a traditional Hawaiian craft. And you’ll do much more than just sit in the canoe and paddle!

Make rope from coconut fibers to lash a canoe ( wa’a ) together like the ancient Hawaiians did, and learn how Polynesians migrated to Hawaii using astounding navigation techniques and how they not only survived, but cultivated the Hawaiian islands and built a thriving community.

Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Tours   require more manpower than out private tours and lessons, so we do combine parties in order to fill all seats in a Canoe. Our 45-foot Hawaiian outrigger canoe contains six seats , and our larger, double hull canoe has twelve seats. One seat is reserved for your guide and the rest go to the paddlers.

Like our private kayak tours , you’ll be able to snorkel or whale watch, depending on the season. But because you’ll want all the paddling help you can get on these larger craft, you will be included as part of a small group.

Your guide will document your epic Hawaiian adventure and send you some Insta-worthy photos  after your Maui Outrigger Canoe Tour, so you can just relax and enjoy your experience without worrying about getting the perfect selfie.

Experience was awesome! Everything was well organized. Staff is insanely knowledgable and sweet. Perfect day for a hike. Lots of places to see and waterfalls to jump from!

Highly recommend! We had an enjoyable hike with Dave through the forest to three different waterfalls/pools, which were very refreshing to swim in. Dave told us lots of information about the flora and fauna, and which plants were safe to taste. The hike was relatively easy with only a few treks over a steep incline with rocks. This was definitely a highlight of our week in Maui.

Gail was sooooo awesome. She made the trip so enjoyable and was so knowledgeable about Maui. We learned so much history about Maui and about all of the plants on the island. We swam in the waterfall that was closed off to the public! It was an easy hike and enjoyable. 10/10!

Highly recommend this great hiking experience in the rainforest. Stoped at multiple waterfalls and jumped into their pools for a refreshing swim. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out many plants along the way. Not recommended for those in poor physical condition as sections of the hike are steep and difficult.

Our guide Tim was a 10! So informative and pointed out a lot of interesting things on our drive there. His knowledge is out of this world. Once we got to the Twin Falls location they had backpacks , sunscreen, bug repellent, ponchos, water and lunch for our hike. Tim taught…
