“São tão bons quanto os verdadeiros Queen!” disse Phil Murphy, tour manager dos Queen, juntando-se aos elogios da mãe e do secretário pessoal de Freddie Mercury, Peter Freestone, que apadrinha a banda (ver documentário).

Tocando um repertório que inclui temas dos Queen desde o início da sua carreira até ao último álbum "Made In Heaven", God Save The Queen diferencia-se das outras bandas tributo pela encarnação mais profunda e sentida do espírito do grupo, emocionando audiências em espetáculos completamente esgotados em todo o mundo. Já venderam mais de 10 milhões de bilhetes.

O currículo da banda conta com muitos momentos marcantes como o de receber o elogio de Jer Bulsara (mãe de Freddie Mercury) na apresentação do grupo no Freddie Mercury Memorial Day, em Montreux no ano de 2006, em que foram a atração mais esperada pelo público presente. Foram também surpreendidos a meio de um ensaio para um show na Europa, por Brian May, o guitarrista dos Queen, que fez questão de conhecer a banda e dar a sua aprovação.

Além de Brian May, Jer Bulsara (mãe de Freddie Mercury), Peter Freestone (secretário pessoal de Freddie Mercury), também Jacky Smith (presidente do fã-clube oficial) e Jim Beach (empresário dos Queen), reconheceram a banda como o melhor tributo aos Queen.

Com o lendário som original e a impressionante semelhança física e vocal de Pablo Padin a Freddie Mercury, a atuação da banda faz reviver os momentos mais importantes na história da música dos Queen. Queen were a British rock band originally consisting of 4 members – Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon. Officially, the band is considered a rock band but in fact, its music was so diversified that it is really hard to count to among one specific genre.

Mostly they played many different kinds of rock but there are also pop ballads and much harder sounds. However, regardless the music genres the band played one is certain, Queen was the music band of all time. Though the leader and incontestable star of the band was Freddie Mercury, these were actually Brian May and Roger Taylor that decided to set up the band. Before they had used to play in another rock band – “Smile”.

Smile was not very popular   band but it had its devoted fans. One of them was a certain Farrokh Bulsara who thereafter started to use a pseudonym instead of his real name – that was actually Freddie Mercury . Finally, Farrokh joined the group. The name of the band was an idea of Farrokh. For the first three years they were playing in trio. It changed right before their very first album release. Then they invited John Deacon to cooperation. The beginnings were not easy.

Their first album remained meaningless. But once they recorded their second album the world has finally heard about them! The album named Queen II charted in the UK. Then, they released “Bohemian Rhapsody” . This single was a total bull’s eye. It stayed at number one in the whole Unitet Kingdom for more then two months! Next albums were only better. A few singles from “News of the World” have become anthems at the most important world’s sporting events and actually they are very actual nowadays as well.

Well, after all, Queen has released almost 20 number-one albums and the same amount of singles. It is also worth mentioning that Queen influenced on the music video industry. They popularised it widely and released 10 number-one DVDs.

Heh, those times when men were wearing tight pants, mustache, taped hair and leather. Anyway, they were really lucky that Freddie joined them, didn’t they? Now even children recognize Queen.

After a tour of more than 100 sold-out concerts around the world and more than 300,000 spectators, GOD SAVE THE QUEEN becomes once again the most spectacular show about Queen in the world, which arrives at the CDMX Arena. The most important Queen band in the world led by Pablo Padín, Ezequiel Tibaldo, Dani Marcos and Matías Albornoz are preparing a special show to return after two years of the Pandemic. After 20 consecutive years of success, God Save the Queen presents its biggest show in history. Queen's number 1 band in the world celebrates its 20-year career, after being chosen by 20th Century Fox & Queen to promote the band's official film "Bohemian Rhapsody" with its most ambitious show, emulating all the stages of their career by Queen, with a highlight at the 1985 Live Aid concert. The band celebrates the creation of a new concept in shows, this time oriented towards massive spaces, where it proposes a relentless journey through QUEEN's career, from 1973 to 1995, with unforgettable songs such as: Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You or We Are The Champions. Eric Clapton opens Detroit concert with 'God Save the Queen' at Little Caesars Arena

English guitarist Eric Clapton kicked off his Saturday Detroit show with an instrumental performance of “God Save the Queen,” in a reverential tribute to Queen Elizabeth II two days after her death.

It led a 17-song night that traversed the guitar great’s catalog for a near-capacity crowd at Little Caesars Arena. At 77, his fingers were nimble and his playing lithe despite a series of health ailments he has publicly discussed in recent years — including neuropathy that nearly forced him into retirement several years ago.

Saturday was his first Detroit visit since 2010, and it was part of a five-city U.S. run this month, in keeping with the short bursts of touring that have come to mark Clapton’s work pace. Last fall, he played another short run of U.S. dates, his first shows since the pandemic — during which he’d been one of the most vocal anti-lockdown advocates in the music world.

On Saturday’s no-frills, open-lit stage, Clapton served up his distinct licks and Stratocaster tones joined by a band that included several longtime accompanists. They had chances to put their own musical stamp on the proceedings, with guitarist Doyle Bramhall II contributing his own solos throughout and Chris Stainton wowing on electric piano during the band showcase “The Sky is Crying.”

The ensemble was rounded out by keyboardist-singer Paul Carrack, bassist Nathan East, drummer Sonny Emory and backing singer Sharon White. (Her vocal partner Katie Kissoon was missing Saturday with no reason offered.)

The set offered a try-to-please-everybody roundup of the various musical personas Clapton has adopted through the years: the hotshot guitar hero enamored with the blues (“I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man,” “Cross Road Blues”), the groovy acid-rock pioneer (Cream’s “Badge”), the tender balladeer (“River of Tears”), the ‘70s album-rock heavyweight (“I Shot the Sheriff”), the ‘90s mainstream hitmaker (“Tears in Heaven”).

A sit-down segment gave Clapton a chance to work his thing on his Martin acoustic guitars, with “Layla” getting a laid-back treatment and “Tears in Heaven” interspersed with a bit of Procul Harum’s “Whiter Shade of Pale” — presumably a tribute to Clapton’s longtime friend Gary Brooker, who died in February.

“Wonderful Tonight” offered its obligatory singalong moment for the couples inside LCA, while “Cocaine” closed the regular set with one of Saturday’s rare moments of gritty guitar sizzle.

Carrack, the well-traveled singer best known for his work with Squeeze and Mike + the Mechanics, took over lead vocals for the encore, a lively rendition of “High Time We Went” that saw show opener Jimmie Vaughan joining the festivities on guitar.

Given Clapton’s age, his scaled-back touring and his latest 12-year gap between Detroit dates, it’s conceivable that Saturday will wind up being the final Motor City concert of his career. If that turns out to be the case, fans will remember it as a warm, likable and reliably well-executed sendoff.

As Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee festivities continue, a reissue of Sex Pistols ‘ infamous anarchist anthem “God Save The Queen” hit the top of the charts in the U.K. on Saturday.

The song was reissued on Friday and almost immediately launched into the No. 1 spot — 45 years to the day after it was infamously denied the top slot. The hit was originally released by the band in 1977, meant to overlap with the Queen’s Silver Jubilee that year.

However, the song earned a total ban on radio airplay from the BBC — what would normally be a kiss of death for a single, but a fitting endorsement for the Pistols and their anti-establishment rant. Despite the block, it reached number one on many other charts including the NME chart. It also reached No. 2 on the UK singles chart (The top spot was occupied by Rod Stewart’s “I Don’t Want To Talk About It”).

Originally titled “No Future,” the song was banned for containing lyrics comparing the UK to “a fascist regime” and saying the Queen is “not a human being.” However, lead singer John Lydon would later clarify: “You don’t write ‘God Save the Queen’ because you hate the English race. You write a song like that because you love them, and you’re fed up with them being mistreated.”

In a recent editorial for the UK Times , Lydon also said he doesn’t have any “animosity” toward the royal family and even wrote “God bless the Queen. She’s put up with a lot.”

He also commented on his relationship to the concept of anarchy, saying, “Anarchy is a terrible idea. Let’s get that clear. I’m not an anarchist… And I’m amazed that there are websites out there – .org anarchist sites – funded fully by the corporate hand and yet ranting on about being outside the shitstorm. It’s preposterous.”

To commemorate the reissue and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the band also released a collectible coin and NFT displaying a Union Jack design on one side and the Queen (lip piercings and all) on the other.
