How To Build A Rebel Village Outpost in LEGO Fortnite

Starfield fan finally fixes one of the game's biggest missed opportunities, pokémon tcg shrouded fable - release date, new cards, & preorder details.

Kinetic Ore is a blue rock-like element that players can travel on in Fortnite . Kinetic Ore recently appeared in Chapter 4, Season 1 of Fortnite 's popular battle-royale mode, one of three distinct game modes under this title that all share the same general gameplay and game engine. So, unsurprisingly, the game's latest season brings players loads of new quests, acquirable character skins, and methods of travel, including the elusive Kinetic Ore.

Players who master traveling atop a Kinetic Ore can complete the Weekly Quest for doing so. The quest that requires players in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 to " Travel distance using a Kinetic Ore " can be completed through a series of stages, the first of which clears after 50 meters and unlocks subsequent steps. Players who wish to complete this quest need to know where to find Kinetic Ore, how to interact with it, and how to position themselves so they can travel the greatest distance possible.

Where To Find The Kinetic Ore in Fortnite

According to the Youtube channel Comrad3s , the first thing that Fortnite players who want to complete the quest for Kinetic Ore travel will need to do is track down one of these mysterious stones. Once players have traveled to Shattered Slabs or chosen it as their landing spot in Fortnite , they can try and spot a Kinetic Ore, distinctly recognizable by its deep blue color. While players can loot the area for weapons and shield items to defend themselves from enemies, the quickest way to travel using a Kinetic Ore merely involves using the Harvesting Tool.

Once players have selected a Kinetic Ore, they will need to strike it several times with their Harvesting Tool. Players will notice that striking a Kinetic Ore does not reward them with materials like other structures would, so they don't need to worry about destroying the Kinetic Ore. After seven or eight hits with the Harvesting Tool in Fortnite , the Ore will appear to be more purple in color, and a ray of propulsive energy will be emitted from it in the direction the player was looking while striking the Ore. After reaching this point, players can mount the Ore and climb into the energy rays, causing the Kinetic Ore to take off in the direction they indicate.

While flying, players will be knocked off the Kinetic Ore in Fortnite as soon as it makes contact with the ground or another structure. To avoid this, players can control the direction in which the Ore will propel them to ensure they fly the maximum distance in Fortnite . For example, players should crouch down and strike the topmost point they can reach on the Ore rather than looking directly at it. Doing so will create more verticality in the Ore's jump, allowing the player riding it to cover as much distance as possible so the "Travel distance using a Kinetic Ore" quest can be completed as quickly as possible.

In short, Kinetic Ore can only be found in and around Shattered Slabs, one of Fortnite 's named locations. Therefore, players who found a Kinetic Ore and wish to travel great distances on it will need to strike the Kinetic Ore with their Pickaxe in Fortnite until they can take off. Players will need to travel 50 meters by this method to complete the first stage of the "Travel distance using a Kinetic Ore" quest, which will unlock subsequent stages that require players to travel even further.

Fortnite: Dummy's Joyride Quests

Fortnite players aren't happy about the loki skin, fortnite leak reveals new vehicle coming in chapter 5 season 3.

A new batch of "This Week" Quests is now available in Fortnite , and one of them instructs players to travel distance using Kinetic Ore. While many fans will already be very familiar with how to travel by way of Kinetic Ore, they may be unaware of a strategy that can be used to maximize the distance that is traversed. This guide is here to detail that strategy and help players quickly travel distance using Kinetic Ore in Fortnite .

Fortnite: Travel Distance Using Kinetic Ore

The first step toward completing this quest is to head to Shattered Slabs , a named location in the southwest quadrant of Fortnite 's map . To make reaching this location as easy as possible, its precise position has been marked on the map that is below, and players will find a number of large blue rocks scattered around it.

RELATED: Fortnite: All Available Augments And How To Activate Them

Upon locating one of these blue rocks, Fortnite players should position themselves directly next to it, face the Ore, and aim the camera in an upward direction . Fans should then start striking the Kinetic Ore with their Harvesting Tools, making sure to keep their cameras pointed above the rock, to cause a vortex to emerge from it. This vortex will be ready to use after approximately ten strikes have been applied to the rock, and it is at that point that jumping on top of the Ore will send the player flying.

For those players that are curious as to why it is important to point the camera above the Kinetic Ore before striking it, the camera's position ultimately determines the direction in which fans will travel when they jump upon the Ore. Players that use this information to consistently gain an upward push from the rocks at Fortnite 's Shattered Slabs will travel much further than fans that do not and should thus complete the challenge more quickly.

That said, players should not expect to finish the "travel distance using Kinetic Ore" quest in a single launch, even if they employ the strategy that has just been detailed. Indeed, fans will need to travel on numerous Kinetic Ores before everything is said and done, and they should plan to work on this quest over the course of several matches. Fortunately, there is quite a bit of XP to be earned from this quest, which will serve to keep players that are progressing through Fortnite 's Chapter 4 Season 1 Battle Pass invested in completing it.

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.

Fortnite is one of the most popular live-service games in the industry, constantly introducing new features to keep its players engaged. With Chapter Four recently starting, the mysterious Kinetic Ore was added to the game. It’s an energy-transferring material that also makes the Impact Hammer such a deadly weapon and a great traversal item.

In order to complete this weekly quest, you’ll need to know how to travel distance using Kinetic Ore as your own personal vehicle. Here’s all the information you need to know about how to travel distance using Kinetic Ore in Fortnite.

How to use Kinetic Ore to travel distance in Fortnite

travel on kinetic ore

First, you’ll need to find a slab of Kinetic Ore, and the best place to find these is in the Shattered Slab location on the southwest part of the island. The purple crystal-like objects are Kinetic Ore. Hit it repeatedly to charge up the Ore and then aim it, similarly to the mechanic from Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Once it’s charged up enough, jump on it and ride it until it collides with another object.

You’ll only have a matter of seconds between when it’s fully charged up and when it leaves, so make sure to hop on it as soon as it gives the sound notification. In order to travel further distances, aim the beam from the Kinetic Ore higher before jumping on. If you can aim the Ore over large gaps in the land, you can ensure that you will fly further uninterrupted.

Since there are five different stages to this quest, you’ll likely have to repeat the same thing over and over again. Fortunately, the game will provide you with experience once you’ve launched Kinetic Ore in a single match three, six, and nine times.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1 has brought tons of new content to the game, including a brand-new map, new weapons, reality augments, and dirt bikes ! As part of the Week 4 challenges for this new season, players need to perform various tasks around the map, one of which involves gathering travel distance using the blueish purple colored Kinetic Ores. In this guide, we'll tell you how you can easily travel long distances using a Kinetic Ore in Fortnite.

How to travel distance using a Kinetic Ore in Fortnite

travel on kinetic ore

Getting long travel distances using the Kinetic Ores is fairly straightforward. Once you find a Kinetic Ore, approach it, and then hit it with your pickaxe tool roughly four to five times. The Kinetic Ore will then begin to emit a beam of energy in the opposite direction from where you strike it. The main trick here is to look at the direction you wish to travel and then strike the Kinetic Ore. When the Kinetic Ore builds up enough power, hop onto the slab, and you will get slingshot in the direction of the energy beam, thus gathering big travel distance in the process.

Where to find Kinetic Ore in Fortnite?

Kinetic Ores are blueish-purple slabs that contain some form of strange energy. It is the same material the Shockwave Hammer is made of, that send players flying all over the map. These slabs of Kinetic Ore are exclusively found in abundance in and around the Shattered Slabs POI, which is located toward the western part of the map. These Kinetic Ores can be easily spotted owing to their large size and blueish purple color. While they can spawn in random areas of the map, Shattered Slabs is the only POI where you will find almost 17 Kinetic Ores spread across the area. Additionally, there will also be one solitary Kinetic Ore that spawns in the Rocky Docks POI, which is located to the extreme left of Shattered Slabs.

This challenge is broken down into five stages , with the required travel distance for each stage increasing exponentially: 50 meters , 100 meters , 250 meters , 500 meters , and finally, 1000 meters . Completing each stage of the challenge will reward players with 16,000 XP .

How to Travel Distance Using Kinetic Ore in Fortnite

How to Travel Distance Using Kinetic Ore in Fortnite

For some players, me included, Fortnite ‘s Kinetic Ore seemed like an accessory at first. Who would have thought that this mysterious stone could be used to traverse the map? Given that one of the current weekly challenges requires players to travel using this ore, it’s essential to know the correct method to use it. If you’re wondering how it works, check out how to travel distance using Kinetic Ore in Fortnite below!

First and foremost, you’ll need to find Kinetic Ore . For this, you’ll need to head to Shattered Slabs. The ore is a dark blue color and can be easily spotted due to its large size. However, remember that since there aren’t many of them throughout the map, you may come across other players looking for this ore. So, make sure you have looted some decent weapons before engaging in this quest, just in case you need to take down a few enemies on the way.

Where-to-Find-Kinetic-Ore-in-Fortnite

Once you reach a Kinetic Ore, switch your current weapon to your harvesting tool. The way this ore works is that the more you hit it with your harvesting tool, the brighter it glows, and the further it launches you across the map. In addition, you will also see the ore forming a circle-like silhouette that gradually becomes more focused the more damage it takes. This circle silhouette indicates where the ore is headed, which can be changed by adjusting your camera angle and where you hit the ore.

You can tell the ore is about to launch when the silhouette turns into a clear circle and the ore changes to a glowing purple color. When this happens, you need to get on it before it launches. Otherwise, you’ll get left behind. This may take a few tries to pull off for beginners, but practice makes perfect!

Fortnite is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.

The next set of Fortnite seasonal challenges, known as Into the Wild, has officially kicked off with a couple of exciting tasks for those who love to explore wildlife. One such quest, in particular, requires you to travel a certain distance using Kinetic Ore. Although the quest sounds straightforward, many Fortnite players are unaware of the term ‘Kinetic Ore.’ Therefore, we’re here to help you with our Fortnite guide, which explains all about traveling distance using Kinetic Ore.

Fortnite Kinetic Ore Location

Fortnite Kinetic Ore Location

Kinetic Ore is a powerful and durable ore that can only be found at Shattered Slabs in Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1. It’s a purple substance that looks similar to a large crystal, emitting shockwaves when hit multiple times.

However, it’s worth noting that this POI is a hot drop, which means you can expect a bunch of loopers to land at this location. On top of that, since the Kinetic Ore challenge is underway, many Fortnite players will directly head to the Shattered Slabs to complete the task.

Therefore, make sure that you pick some weapons for self-defense before heading out to complete the Kinetic Ore challenge. Finally, we recommend dropping at the outer cliffs of Shattered Slabs instead of the main building to gain access to the high grounds and Kinetic Ores swiftly.

Andres Aquino

A new Fortnite challenge asks you to travel certain distance with a kinetic ore. We'll show you where the ore is and how to travel with it.

Fortnite kinetic ore

With Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 some huge, purple stones suddenly showed up on the island, they are also known as Kinetic Ore. They offer a new way to fast travel in Fortnite. Although the story behind this mysterious element has not yet been revealed, its kinetic abilities are similar to items such as Hop Rocks from the past. We even suspect that the hop rocks were mined from the ore.

Anyway, in one of Fortnite's weekly challenges , Epic requires players to travel a certain distance with the kinetic ore to give this cool feature a try. Upon completing the challenge, the player will receive a total of 80,000 XP, which earns you a whole Battle Pass tier! Although the challenge isn't too difficult, it will take some time to complete, so we're here to help.

All Kinetic Ore locations

In order to complete the challenge, you must first know where the kinetic ore is in the first place. First land in Shattered Slabs. This is a location in the southwest of the map. There's a lot of kinetic ore in there. In fact, it's not that hard to spot because it's purple in color and quite large. There are 17 of them in total. You can find the exact locations here:

If you don't want to face any enemy players, we advise you to land at Rocky Docks, west of Slabs. There is also a single, huge stone here. To complete the challenges now, all you have to do is cover distance with the ore.

How to Travel Distance With a Kinetic Ore

Once you're ready, approach the kinetic ore and hit it with your harvesting tool. After a few hits, it becomes unstable and charges up. By now the airline should appear on the screen. Depending on the angle at which you hit it, the kinetic ore will move in the appropriate direction.

Once the kinetic ore is charged and ready to use, you must stop hitting it and stand on it as quickly as possible. Remember not to stand on the edges or you may slip.

If you stand on it safely, the fun starts and the stone shoots into the air. In this challenge you have to cover a total distance of 1,900 meters in five stages. These are divided into phases of 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1,000 meters. Completing each stage awards 16,000 XP. So don't miss the challenge!

Popular Butte Creek Falls to stay closed for another four to six weeks

travel on kinetic ore

Hikers waiting patiently for a popular waterfall hike to reopen near Scotts Mills will have to wait another month at least.

Butte Creek Falls Recreation Area, home to a waterfall hike and campground, will remain closed for the next four to six weeks, and possibly longer, Oregon Department of Forestry officials said.

The recreation site wasn’t burned in the September 2020 Labor Day wildfires , but it has been closed ever since because the roads around it were burned and state officials say travel there is unsafe.

“There are still hazard trees that need to be removed near the roads around the recreation area,” ODF spokesman Tim Hoffman said. “Safety has and remains our top priority.

“There have been several unforeseen delays with the salvage operations in the past so we will notify the public when we have a solid opening date.”

Related: Shellburg Falls reopens Friday. Here's a sneak peek at what it looks like now.

Butte Creek Falls’ reopening has been delayed multiple times but was suppose to reopen last fall.

Hampton Lumber signed a contract with ODF on Sept. 15, 2021, for a salvage timber sale that included removing hazard trees along roughly 20 miles of road that leads to Butte Creek Falls.

The company missed its deadline to complete work at the end of last October due to “a lack of contractor availability combined with bad weather and challenging conditions on the ground,” a Hampton spokeswoman said previously .

An extension had been granted to complete the work, ODF said.

Meantime, the roads leading to the falls remain closed and so do the trails and campground.

Las Vegas’ Mirage casino closing. Here’s what’s going in its place

  • The Associated Press

LAS VEGAS — The iconic Mirage hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip will shut its doors this summer, the end of an era for a property credited with helping transform Sin City into an ultra-luxury resort destination.

The July 17 closure will clear the way for major renovations and construction on the 80-acre (32-hectare) property, which is to reopen in 2027 as the Hard Rock Las Vegas, featuring a hotel tower in the shape of a guitar soaring nearly 700 feet (about 210 meters) above the heart of the Strip.

“We’d like to thank the Las Vegas community and team members for warmly welcoming Hard Rock after enjoying 34 years at The Mirage,” Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International, said Wednesday in a statement announcing the closure.

It will be the second time this year that a Strip casino shutters. The Tropicana Las Vegas closed in April after 67 years to make room for a $1.5 billion baseball stadium planned as the future home of the relocating Oakland A’s.

Developed by former casino mogul Steve Wynn, the Mirage opened with a Polynesian theme as the Strip’s first megaresort in 1989, spurring a building boom on the famous boulevard through the 1990s.

Its volcano fountain was one of the first sidewalk attractions, predating the Venetian’s canals and the Bellagio’s dancing fountains. It was known as a venue where tourists could see Siegfried and Roy taming white tigers or a Cirque du Soleil act set to a Beatles soundtrack.

The final curtain on the Beatles-themed show, which brought Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr back together for public appearances throughout its 18-year run, also comes down in July.

Hard Rock International said Wednesday that more than 3,000 employees will be laid off and it expects to pay out $80 million in severance.

The Culinary Workers Union, which has represented about 1,700 employees at the Mirage since it opened, said in a statement that the contract it won last year ensures laid-off workers will get $2,000 for each year of service. The contract also gives them the option of being called back to work and maintaining their seniority when the hotel reopens.

“Culinary Union will continue to ensure workers are protected and centered in the property’s future,” the statement said.

The Mirage became the first Strip property to be run by a Native American tribe in 2022, after Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, purchased it from MGM Resorts in a cash deal worth nearly $1.1 billion.

Hard Rock said at the time that the property would remain open and operate under the Mirage brand for several years while it finalized renovation plans.

The Mirage is accepting no bookings for after July 14 and said any reservations past that date will be canceled and refunded.
