A tourist killed by three tigers in front of his horrified wife and child jumped into the enclosure to avoid paying the zoo's £15 entrance fee, it has been reported.

Named locally as Mr Zhang, the man is said to have scaled three fences after his wife and child went in because he could not afford another entrance fee of 130 yuan (£15).

A pal of the doomed man joined him for part of his fence-scaling, but gave up half way through and turned back, leaving Zhang to clamber over the two three metre-high walls and a barbed wire fence himself

He then landed in the tiger enclosure yesterday afternoon where a trio of roaring beasts jumped on him and began ripping him apart - as his horrified family watched on.

A relative of Zhang, who was mauled to death, has blamed the zoo for not implementing "effective measures" to avoid the tragedy.

One of the three tigers that attacked the man was shot dead - causing further outrage among animal lovers in China who have blamed the man and the zoo for the tragedy.

Horror footage shows the tigers leap on Zhang at Ningbo Younger Zoo, on China's east coast, leaving him writhing around on the ground in agony as they passed him between their massive paws.

He died from his injuries.

Zookeepers tried to frighten the animals away with firecrackers and water cannons, but they were undeterred.

The animals bit into his head and neck and ripped off his clothes, leaving him face down on the ground in just his pants, according to ntdtv.com

One tiger was then seen dragging the man's blood-soaked body into the woods by his foot.

The man was rushed to hospital from the zoo in East China's Zhejiang Province but pronounced dead.

Staff were said to have been feeding the animals when Zhang entered the enclosure.

One witness told the South China Morning Post : “I saw the tiger mauling the person, whose face was covered with blood. Every time he sat up, the tiger pushed him down again.”

Shocked bystanders told The Beijing News that the man was with his wife and child.

A relative of Mr Zhang's said: "It's the zoo's fault. The zoo offers the chance [to climb the wall].

"If the wall was high enough, or if the zoo had adopted effective measures, he wouldn't have been able to climb it."

The zoo was closed at 3pm while police and local forestry bureau staff arrived at the zoo at about 3:15pm.

Further news reports from China claim that four tourists narrowly avoided attack by lions after trying to sneak through an enclosure at the same zoo in 2006.

In July last year, a 57-year-old woman was mauled to death after trying to save her daughter from a tiger attack at a drive-through wildlife park in Beijing.

The woman’s daughter, in her 30s, was attacked after she out the car and walked among the animals.

While she survived with multiple serious injuries to her arms and face, her mum died.

Pakistan zoo shut down after man mauled to death by tigers, shoe found in tiger's mouth: Officials

Warning: Distressing content ahead.

A man was mauled to death by tigers in a Pakistan zoo prompting authorities to shut down the zoo Thursday as they investigate the incident, local media outlet Geo News reported. The body was reportedly discovered on Wednesday during a routine cleaning of the enclosure when a staff member spotted a shoe in one of the tiger's mouths.

Authorities at Bahawalpur Zoo in the province of Punjab told Dawn News on Friday that the deceased was identified as 28-year-old Muhammad Bilawal from Lahore. The Bahawalpur police told the media outlet that the deceased's father Muhammad Javed had been informed about the incident, and that he is en route to Bahawalpur to collect the body.

Man mauled by tigers struggled with addiction, family says

Bilawal's father told Dawn News that his son struggled with addiction and had been in rehabilitation twice. He further said that Bilawal had a history of disappearing from home and returning a few days later. The man was also reportedly involved in three cases, said the media outlet though they did not state the nature of those cases.

Punjab's Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Commissioner Bahawalpur have constituted separate committees to investigate if there was a breach in security or negligence by zoo employees, reported Geo News.

Man mauled to death is presumed to have jumped in tiger enclosure, officials say

Authorities suspect that the attack may have happened late Tuesday night, given the condition of the body, according to AFP .

"The autopsy report has not been released, however evidence gathered from the enclosure points towards him being alive when he was attacked by the tigers," senior officer of the province's wildlife department Ali Usman Bukhari had told AFP on Wednesday. "The tigers did not go out of the den to attack the man, he jumped into their enclosure. "

Senior local government official Zaheer Anwar while speaking to the media outside the zoo said that the victim may have been a "lunatic".

"Our assessment so far is that this appears to be a lunatic, because a sensible person would not jump into the den," Anwar said, according to AFP. "You can see the den is secured. There are stairs behind the den, maybe he jumped from there."

An official of the rescue service 1122 in Bahawalpur told AFP that the victim’s legs had been heavily mauled.

The three tigers present in the den when the body was discovered have been moved to a separate enclosure while evidence is collected.

A Russian man has died after being mauled by a tiger shark off one of Egypt’s Red Sea resorts, with disturbing video taken from the beach appearing to show him screaming “papa” as the attack unfolded.

The 23-year-old Russian national had gone swimming in the waters off his resort near the city of Hurghada when a shark emerged underwater and grabbed him.

The attack forced the Egyptian authorities to close off a 74-kilometre (46-mile) stretch of the coastline, announcing it will remain off limits until Sunday.

Officials from the Russian Consulate in Hurghada identified the man as a Russian citizen. He has been name locally as Vladimir Popov.

His dad has since spoken of watching the attack from the shore.

“We went to the beach to relax,” Mr Popov, originally from Russia, told the 112 media outlet. “My son was attacked by a shark, it all happened in seconds.”

“What kind of help can you give? This meat grinder happened in 20 seconds, he was just dragged under the water.”

He added: “This is an absolutely ridiculous coincidence, because it is a safe beach. There are ships and yachts around. It’s never happened there. They usually attack on wild beaches. It’s just some kind of evil fate.”

A nearly minute-long video appearing to be of the brutal shark attack shows the man being suddenly pulled down into the water, only for him to resurface and desperately fight off the shark when suddenly the water around him goes red.

He also screams out “papa” and cries out loudly as the shark repeatedly circles and comes back in to attack. Later in the video a witness is heard saying “it is eating his remains now” as a small ship sails in the distance.

The environment ministry in Egypt later said it had caught the shark and was examining it in a laboratory to try to determine the reasons for the rare attack.

Images shared on social media showed the body of the bloodied shark lying on a sheet on land.

Shark attacks are rare in the Red Sea coastal regions. In 2022, two fatal attacks were seen in Hurghada within days, killing an Austrian and a Romanian tourist.

Tiger sharks are a large species that resides in tropical and temperate waters and are among the sharks most cited by the International Shark Attack File for unprovoked attacks on humans.

Fatal Tiger Mauling Shows What's Wrong With Animal Parks

A woman's death in China could have been prevented, and it highlights some of the problems with captive animal parks.

Surveillance video at a wildlife park in northern China shows the horrifying moment a woman is attacked by a captive tiger . The woman survived, but her mother was killed after she rushed to defend her daughter.

The woman's husband also came to his wife's rescue and was not hurt.

The deadly encounter took place Saturday at Badaling Wildlife World outside Beijing. Yet the incident could have been prevented and is a reminder of the danger—and questionable track record—of such captive animal experiences, says Luke Dollar, a conservation biologist who directs National Geographic's Big Cats Initiative .

"Lack of awareness and lack of respect for wild animals can sometimes be very expensive, and unfortunately it cost a woman her life," Dollar says.

John Goodrich, the senior program director for tigers for the conservation group Panthera , puts it thus: "If you step out of a car in a cage full of tigers, it's common sense what could happen."

According to local news reports, guests are allowed to drive their own vehicles through a section of Badaling Wildlife World that features captive Siberian tigers. But such attractions are not a good idea, Dollar and Goodrich warn.

For Hungry Minds

In fact, the park has had several other safety problems in the past. A security guard who stepped out of a vehicle was killed by a tiger there in 2014. In March, another employee was killed by an elephant . In 2009, a man was killed by a tiger after he scaled a fence and entered an enclosure.

"I hope they're not taking any actions against the tiger," Goodrich adds.

Attempts to reach Badaling Wildlife World have so far not been successful. The county government issued a statement saying they are investigating the incident, the park has been temporarily closed, and that "here we remind the tourists, walkers must comply with the relevant regulations, improve safety awareness, to avoid accidents."

Captive Tigers Can Be More Dangerous

Lions and tigers in captive situations "often don't have a healthy fear of people," Dollar says. They often associate humans with food or positive attention, especially if they are hand raised.

Some wildlife attractions even permit people to pet or hand-feed big cats, which can exacerbate unnatural behaviors, he adds.

In contrast, in the wild, big cats tend to avoid people, possibly seeing them as rival predators or even as threats, particularly in areas with a history of hunting. When a person on a safari vehicle exits a vehicle around them—which can still be dangerous—the big cats typically scatter, Dollar says. ( Read about the woman killed by a lion in South Africa .)

Animal-friendly laws are gaining traction across the U.S.

"But captive cats, which may have been around people their entire lives, may be curious when people get out of a vehicle, since that probably doesn't happen on a regular basis," Dollar says.

Local media have reported that the woman who first exited her car at the park Saturday may have been arguing with her husband, although a family friend later disputed that fact. If she was raising her voice, it could have attracted the tiger, Dollar says, since it could have piqued its curiosity, or even sounded like a distress call (predators often hone in on prey in distress).

( Read about the gorilla that attacked a boy in a U.S. zoo .)

Captive Parks Can Be Problematic

As the recent controversy over Thailand's tiger temple suggests , some captive wildlife attractions have been linked to supplying the black market for bones, skins, and other valuable contraband. And some facilities have been criticized for keeping animals in unsanitary, small, and unnatural conditions. Sometimes, lions and tigers are even kept together, causing them significant stress.

What's more, there's little evidence captive breeding on such a large scale is benefitting the species overall or in the wild, Dollar says. There are more than two times more tigers in captivity in the U.S. than there are throughout the entire world in the wild.

Although he's not familiar with Badaling Wildlife World in particular, Dollar says many captive animal attractions around the world are "exploitive and profiteering." The animals often "aren't being bred to restock wild populations," Dollar adds.

As of this writing we are unable to determine whether Badaling has ever released tigers into the wild. Goodrich says he is not aware of any reintroductions of tigers across China.

Still, "cats are amazingly resilient, and they do just fine if we can adequately manage and protect them," says Dollar.

Although the study has since been contested by some biologists , an April report estimated that there about 3,890 tigers left in the wild , up from 3,200 in 2010. Yet the April report estimated only seven wild tigers in China, noting that the country has yet to do a formal count. ( Read about the recent decline of leopards .)

Goodrich adds that China remains the world's biggest market for blackmarket tiger parts, which he calls "the driving force behind the decline of tigers." The country has done some work to protect its remaining wild tigers, but more could be done, he adds.

"I love the fact that people care about big cats, but I wish people could do what they can to help them without this exploitative component [of wildlife attractions]," Dollar says.

Tourist Mauled By Tigers After Climbing Into Zoo Enclosure In China

A tourist at the Ningbo Youngor Wildlife Park in China was mauled by a trio of tigers after climbing into their enclosure.

The tourist, who’s origins and name are unknown, entered the enclosure as the three tigers were being fed. As he walked toward the trio of big cats, they immediately took notice and did not hesitate to pounce upon him.

A cell phone video was taken during the attack and posted online showing the tigers’ massive paws swiping at the man as he writhed in agony, according to the Mirror .

The man’s wife and child were watching from outside the enclosure as he was mauled by the massive tigers. During the mauling, the tigers bit into the man’s head and removed his clothing, ignoring the meal that was provided by the zoo keepers prior to the intrusion.

There are conflicting reports stating that the man died from his injuries, while others claim he is still being treated for his injuries.

It is unknown why he chose to enter the tiger enclosure or what he expected to accomplish.

A witness to the mauling reported that the man tried to escape the attack, but the tigers kept pushing him to the ground.

“I saw the tiger mauling the person, whose face was covered with blood. Every time he sat up, the tiger pushed him down again.”

In order to gain entrance to the enclosure, the man had to clime a fence and cross a river that separated the tigers from the public. It was no accident that he found his way inside.

Tiger shot dead for mauling man to death in china zoo after he scaled wall to avoid buying ticket.

Photos: Shanghaiist, Internet screengrabs

A man was mauled to death by tiger at a zoo in Ningbo, China, on Sunday (Jan 29) after he inadvertently climbed into its enclosure to avoid paying for a ticket.

According to CCTV news via Shanghaiist , the man named Zhang visited the zoo with his wife, children and a friend.

The rest of his family purchased tickets to enter the place, but Zhang and his friend decided to try their luck to enter the zoo for free.

They climbed a 3-meter high wall along the zoo's perimeter and entered the compound.

The duo then came across another wall. Zhang climbed over it, but his friend did not follow him this time.

Little did the former know however that the tigers' enclosure was on the other side of the wall.

He was subsequently surrounded by an ambush of tigers following his entry.

Zoo staff tried to scare the big cats away with water guns and fireworks. One tiger however was unfazed and proceeded to drag the man away before reportedly attacking him as his family looked on.

It was then shot and killed by zoo staff.

The victim was carried out of the enclosure and pronounced dead at a hospital.

Tiger kills man after he allegedly scales 10 ft wall and drops into the zoo enclosure

Picture:

A man was mauled to death by a tiger after he allegedly jumped into the animal’s enclosure at Youngor Wildlife Park, in the city of Ningbo, China, just under one hundred miles south of Shanghai.

The incident occurred on Sunday when the man, identified as Zhang, along with his friend, Mr Li, left their wives and decided to climb over the enclosure.

Li remained on the ground, but Zhang allegedly passed through the wires and scaled the zoo’s 10 ft outer wall.

Mr Zhang’s wife and child along with Li’s wife, purchased tickets to the zoo, but the two men had not.

Zhang fell into the tiger enclosure, where one tiger pounced on him, and two others circled around.

Two of the tigers were chased away with firecrackers and water cannons, but the third stayed, fatally wounding the man, who later died in hospital.

According to state television, the tiger who had killed him was shot dead by the local police.

The tourism authority maintains that there were prominent warning signs.

Several videos have been posted online showing the attack.

The zoo was closed for the rest of the day and remained unopened on Monday.

A FATHER mauled to death by three tigers at a zoo had jumped into their enclosure to avoid paying the entrance fee.

The victim, named only as Zhang, had tried to dodge paying for a £15 ticket by hopping over the park fence directly into the tiger pit yesterday, Chinese media reports.

Accompanied by a pal, he scaled the three metre wall  only to be mauled to death by the tigers .

The pair were pictured on top of the barrier just moments before the bloody attack.

Grieving relatives of a dad-of-two have now blasted the lax security at the Chinese zoo that allowed him climb into the enclosure with the tigers .

Dramatic images have emerged of two men scaling the fence of a Chinese zoo. One of the men was mauled to death by three tigers soon after

The second man, who was about to follow Zhang into the enclosure, held back after watching the horror unfold before him.

Zhang's wife and two children had gone through the front entrance to the Zoo in Zhejiang province, China, to buy a ticket.

They watched on in horror as the big cats attacked him.

Horrific footage showed Zhang being mauled on the head and neck by the tiger as onlookers scream.

Zhang, aged in his 40s, died in hospital soon after.

Ningbo Younger Zoo's killer tiger was later shot dead and the other two big cats scared away with flares guns.

Man found half-eaten by zoo tigers after one of the apex predators was seen with a shoe in its mouth

  • A man was mauled to death by tigers in a Pakistani zoo enclosure.
  • The victim's remains were discovered after staff saw a shoe in one of the tigers' mouths.
  • A local senior government official described the man, who climbed into the enclosure, as a "lunatic."

Insider Today

A zoo in Pakistan was shut down after a man was mauled and killed by tigers , CBS News reports.

The body was found during a routine cleaning on Wednesday morning after staff spotted one of the tigers with a shoe in its mouth.

The man reportedly jumped into the tiger enclosure.

The circumstances surrounding the attack, believed to have occurred late Tuesday night, are under investigation. The victim, yet to be identified, is speculated to have been alive during the attack.

"The zoo is closed right now as we determine how the man got in," said Ali Usman Bukhari, a senior officer of the province's wildlife department, which operates the zoo, per CBS News.

The Bahawalpur Zoo in Punjab is managed by the Government of Pakistan , according to the zoo's website.

"The autopsy report has not been released, however evidence gathered from the enclosure points towards him being alive when he was attacked by the tigers," Bukhari said.

Bukhari pledged to address any security lapses and consider hiring private security guards if necessary.

Senior local government official Zaheer Anwar, speaking to the media outside the zoo, expressed initial assessments that the victim may have been acting irrationally, per CBS News.

"Our assessment so far is that this appears to be a lunatic, because a sensible person would not jump into the den," he remarked, pointing out the secured nature of the enclosure.

The three tigers reportedly involved in the incident have been confined to a smaller space while authorities collect evidence.

Sherbagh Zoo, established in 1942 by the ruling royal family of Bahawalpur, features modern moated enclosures for lions, tigers, and hyenas.

Pakistani zoos have often faced criticism for their poor conditions and alleged neglect of animal welfare. In 2020, the remains of a missing teenage boy were discovered in the lion enclosure of a zoo in Lahore, per the BBC.

Damning reports have also been made against a zoo in Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, Deutsche Welle reports. The animals are allegedly malnourished and kept in cramped enclosures.

WWF wrote that there are "many animal welfare issues in captive facilities in Pakistan ."

Russian citizen mauled to death by tiger shark off Egypt’s Red Sea coast in rare attack

  • Copy Link copied

CAIRO (AP) — A Russian man died after being mauled by a shark on Thursday off one of Egypt’s Red Sea resorts, Egyptian and Russian authorities said.

Egypt’s Environment Ministry said the man was killed after being attacked by a tiger shark in the waters near the city of Hurghada. Authorities closed off a 74-kilometer (46-mile) stretch of the coastline, announcing it will remain off-limits until Sunday.

The ministry later said it had caught the shark and was examining it in a laboratory to try and determine the reasons for the rare attack.

The Russian Consulate in Hurghada identified the man as a Russian citizen but did not give his name.

A video circulating online, purportedly of the attack, shows a man thrashing about in the water before being repeatedly attacked by a shark circling around him, then being dragged under.

Shark attacks are rare in the Red Sea coastal regions. However, in 2022, two fatal attacks in Hughada within days, killing an Austrian and a Romanian tourist .

Egypt’s Red Sea resorts, including Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh, boast some of the country’s most renowned beach destinations and are popular with European tourists. Divers are attracted by the steep drop-offs of coral reefs just offshore, which offer a rich and colorful sea life.

Egypt has in recent years sought to revive the vital tourism sector, hurt by years of political instability, the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

Tiger sharks are large species that reside in tropical and temperate waters and are among sharks most cited by the International Shark Attack File for unprovoked attacks on humans.

3 surfers from Australia and the U.S. were killed in Mexico's Baja California. Here's what we know.

Updated on: May 7, 2024 / 4:08 PM EDT / CBS/AP

Two Australians and an American were doing what they loved on the stunning, largely isolated stretch of Baja California's Pacific coast. Their last images on social media showed them sitting and gazing at the waves.

What happened to end their lives may have been as random as a passing pickup truck full of people with ill intent. The  surfers were shot in the head , their bodies dumped in a covered well miles away. Here's what we know:

Who were the victims?

Brothers Jake and Callum Robinson from Australia and American Jack Carter Rhoad had apparently stopped to surf the breaks between Punta San José, about 50 miles south of Ensenada, and La Bocana, further north on the coast.

Callum Robinson's Instagram page showed several images from the trio's Mexico trip: enjoying beers with their feet up in a bar, lazing in a jacuzzi, eating roadside tacos, looking out at the surf.

Mexico Missing Foreigners

Callum, who was six-foot-four, had played in the U.S. Premier Lacrosse League, which left a  message on its website  saying the lacrosse world was "heartbroken by the tragic loss" of the trio.

"We offer our hearts, support and prayers to the Robinson and Rhoad Families, as well as all who loved Callum, Jake and Jack," it said.

On social media, his devastated girlfriend shared a black and white photo of the couple kissing, with the message: "You are one of one. I will love you forever."

In another photo she shared, in which the two can be seen embracing,  she wrote: "My heart is shattered into a million pieces. I don't have the words right now."

Jake Robinson was a doctor in Perth, according to Australian media.

Rhoad was engaged and set to marry Natalie Weirtz on Aug. 17 in Columbus, Ohio, according to a  Zola  online wedding registry. A GoFundMe which was launched to "rally support for Natalie" had raised over $57,000 as of Tuesday morning.

"In the wake of the heartbreaking loss of Carter Rhoad, Callum Robinson, and Jake Robinson, our hearts ache with grief for their families, friends, and community," reads a separate GoFundMe set up for Rhoad's family.

What happened to them?

The three friends were attacked there on April 28 or 29.

As soon as police arrived at their last known camp site, it was clear that something had gone violently wrong.

There were bloodstains and marks "as if heavy objects had been dragged," leading to suspicions of an attack, the Baja California state prosecutor's office said in an attempt to reconstruct the scene.

Chief state prosecutor María Elena Andrade Ramírez described what likely would have been moments of terror that ended the trip for the three men.

She theorized the killers drove by and saw the foreigners' pickup truck and tents and wanted to steal the truck's tires and other parts. But "when (the foreigners) came up and caught them, surely, they resisted."

FILE PHOTO: Members of a rescue team work at a site where three bodies were found, in La Bocana

She said that's when the killers would have shot the men. She said they were likely not attacked because they were tourists. "The evidence suggests they (the killers) did not know where they were from."

Andrade Ramírez said the reconstruction of events was based on the forensic examiner's reports, noting all three had bullet wounds to the head.

There was a hurried attempt to destroy evidence. The foreigners' tents were apparently burned. The pickup truck was driven miles away and burned. The assailants' truck was later found with a gun inside.

Then, at "a site that is extremely hard to get to," the bodies were dumped into a well about 4 miles (6 kilometers) away. Investigators were surprised when, underneath the bodies of the three foreigners, a fourth body was found that had been there much longer.

"They had to have previous knowledge of it," Andrade Ramírez said of the attackers, acknowledging the possibility they were behind the previous killing.

The well had been covered with boards. "It was literally almost impossible to find it," Andrade Ramírez said. It took two hours to winch the bodies out.

Who are the suspects?

Prosecutors have said they were questioning three people in the killings. Two were caught with methamphetamines. One of them, a woman, had one of the victims' cellphones when she was caught. Prosecutors said the two were being held pending drug charges but continue to be suspects in the killings.

A third man was arrested on charges of a crime equivalent to kidnapping, but that was before the bodies were found. It was unclear if he might face more charges.

The third man was believed to have directly participated in the killings. In keeping with Mexican law, prosecutors identified him by his first name, Jesús Gerardo, alias "el Kekas," a slang word that means quesadillas, or cheese tortillas.

Andrade Ramírez said he had a criminal record that included drug dealing, vehicle theft and domestic violence, adding, "We are certain that more people were involved."

She emphasized that she could not discuss anything related to the suspects, or their possible statements, because that was not allowed under Mexican law and might prejudice the case against them.

MEXICO-US-AUSTRALIA-MISSING-SURFERS-INVESTIGATION

Andrade Ramírez noted that the victims' families said the brothers and Rhoad had come many times to the seaside spot and never had any problem. This time, however, "there was no way to ask for help when the attackers showed up."

What's next?

In a statement to CBS News, the FBI said it "continues to work with our international law enforcement partners in resolving this ongoing situation" and has been in contact with the family of the American victim.

"While we cannot comment on specifics to preserve the sanctity of the investigative and legal processes, along with protecting the privacy of those impacted, we can assure you that we are assessing every tip. If credible, we will pursue those leads with rigor," the FBI said.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Tuesday he had requested an opportunity to speak to the brothers' parents Deborah and Martin Robinson.

"This is a terrible tragedy and my heart goes out to them. To identify these wonderful young men and they have been travelling in Mexico. We've been dealing with them through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. I've indicated that I wish to speak to them at an appropriate time of their choosing," Albanese told reporters in the Queensland state town of Rockhampton.

Plantation Worker Mauled to Death by Tiger

tourist mauled to death by tigers

Screams were heard on Indonesia's Sumatra island before a man's body was discovered Thursday, with one of the hands torn off. Authorities say the 26-year-old, found dead on a plantation in Riau province, was attacked by a tiger. "The area is within the tiger habitat," said Genman Suhefti Hasibuan, head of the local conservation agency, per AFP . Speaking Friday, the local police chief said two workers heard the victim scream while spraying weeds in an acacia plantation. They searched for their friend but discovered only tiger prints. Police said the body was found later with bite wounds to the neck and a severed right hand.

It's "at least the third time a tiger has killed a human in the past five months" in Indonesia, where roughly 400 critically endangered Sumatran tigers roam in patches of woods not yet subject to deforestation, per CBS News . Officials were still pursuing the big cat as of Saturday. Rangers are also said to be hunting other tigers suspected in recent attacks in Lampung province. AFP reports "hundreds of angry villagers mobbed and torched the forest rangers' headquarters" inside Bukit Barisan National Park in March, demanding action after four people were attacked in that area, two fatally, over a couple of weeks. Raging bull attacks woman on Mexican beach as tourists scream in horror: video

A wild and violent bull that was loose on a popular Mexican beach attacked a woman several times as panicked onlookers screamed in horror, a terrifying new video shows.

The heart-stopping video, which was shot Saturday at Cabo San Lucas, shows the black beast charging and ramming the woman more than six times after she tries to snatch her bags away from the animal. Cabo San Lucas is a resort city on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula and is popular among tourists.

The video first shows the black beast under a canopy with the woman who appears to be feeding the horned animal food from a bag and then from a silver bowl.

BRITISH TOURIST HAS HAND, THIGH SEVERED AFTER BEING MAULED BY BULL SHARK IN CARIBBEAN: 'LUCKY TO BE ALIVE'

Dressed in a loose dress and beach hat, the woman appears unperturbed by the dangers the incredibly strong bovine possesses. Bulls can weigh well over 2,000 pounds depending on the breed and are well known to be aggressive.

In the next clip, the bull can be seen trotting away from the canopy after spotting several bags belonging to the woman.

She then goes face to face with the beast in an attempt to retrieve the bags as one man shouts, "You are really playing with it right now."

"Please don’t do that, please," the onlooker screams.

"Please get away," he yells as the bull devours the contents of the bags. Another beachgoer can be heard calling the woman a "moron" as she refuses to get to safety.

As the crowd continues to warn the woman away from the bull, the unidentified woman drops her hands and turns her back on the predator as if she was giving up on her mission to recover the bags.

That’s when the bull sees red, lowering its head and charging at the woman, ramming its head into the side of her and causing her to fall onto the sand, the video shows .

FLORIDA MAN SURVIVES SHARK ATTACK AFTER 'APEX PREDATOR' PULLS HIM UNDERWATER, NARROWLY MISSES FEMORAL ARTERY

She gets up, but the bull charges again and seemingly strikes her in the face with one of its horns, causing her to crumble to the sand again.

The woman then finds herself on her knees with her back to the bull, which plows into her again, pushing her forward as others on the beach look on with terror.

"We tried to f---ing tell you," the man shouts as the bull continues its onslaught, ramming the woman several more times across the sand.

Another woman, who appears to be in the same party, then comes to her aid and tries to throw a bucket of water at the bull, who eventually moves away.

Despite the shocking attack, the woman quickly gets to her feet and walks away. It is unclear what injuries she suffered.

The beach is close to several ranches which makes close encounters with livestock a common occurrence in the area, Torres García, an official with the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone, told local outlet El Sudcaliforniano.

He said that it is also common to see donkeys wandering around the area and tourists are known to try and feed them.

"However, we make the recommendation that they do not do so in order to prevent a situation similar to that of the bull attack from happening because a donkey can bite a person," García said.
