On march 7th , I had a flight from LGA TO JAX 4pm it was a wonderful flight even though I forgot to eat before my flight and I didn’t feel to well I was very lightheaded and hungry . I told a flight attendant who told me I needed to wait until he came back down with snacks so I waited another 20 mins when he came back down the 2nd time he told me I needed to wait again because he was only giving out water on the 2nd run the first run was the snacks that were for sale. So I had to wait 45 mins altogether after telling them I felt very faintly and needed to eat something. Than on the 3rd run when the attendant got to my row he asked me what I wanted and I told them I would like one of each of the snacks and he rudely and aggressively grabbed the bags and aggressively passed it to me . I do not know why they were being so disrespectful and mean to me but it hurt my feelings. I understand ppl have bad days but it seemed more than just a bad day because everyone else received smiles. I hope it doesn’t happen again that was my second time my first time was amazing! Please speak to your attendants who flew that day they need more training for guest service

Poo Messaging and Glitchy App

I’m not sure if this is the right place to share this feedback but I’m very disappointed by how JetBlue handled my schedule change. I received an email saying that my schedule changed and I needed to log in to confirm the change or change my flight. After multiple times of trying to change my flight through the link, I received an error message that said I needed to call customer service in order to change my flight. So I did. After spending over 45 minutes waiting to speak to an agent, I was told that I am not able to change my flight because it is a points and cash booking. The only option is to cancel the flight and rebook. So I said fine, cancel my flight. I was then told that in order to conceal over the phone I would have to pay a $25 fee. Absurd. I was told to call to update my flight and then after wasting my time on the phone, I was told to cancel it myself or pay $25. This could have all been avoided if JetBlue had instead told me my only option was to cancel and rebook when I was attempting to change my flight in the app, or if the email I received was tailored to points and cash bookings to make it clear that if I did not like the flight I would need to cancel. This was a horrible experience and it always reminds why delta is the better airline. The app and the customer service are clearer and there are never fees for over the phone transactions. If you want to stop people from calling, make your in app messaging clearer!

Never fly jetblue

After changing wich gate my plane is at three times and being stranded in the airport of a new state far away from my departure and destination i finaly got to where I was supposed to be after three days. My grandma and I slept in the airport after they refused to put us in a hotel. By the time I got to where I was going I was so exhausted from having to carry my grammas stuff and my stuff and push her in a wheelchair all arround the airport for three days that i was seeing shadows and the walls of the airport were dripping onto my bags not one person in that whole airport once expressed sorrow for the situation we were put in but they laughed and told me matter of fact these things change all the time. I will never ever forget how I was treated in the airport and by security. I have bad anxiety and security yelled at me after seeing the state I was in after no sleep and nonstop crying for three days they decided they were going to make me strip down out of my clothes down to shorts and a tank top from my sweats and a sweatshirt infront of everyone in there not to mention they made me put every one of my belongings in separate X-ray machenes I’m under 18 and I was a visible wreck and no one showed me any kindness matter fact they treated me worse than how they treated anyone else in there I hope no one goes through what I went through and the best way to avoid that is to spend a little extra for a secure flight plan

How JetBlue Vacations work

What are jetblue vacation deals, jetblue vacations car rentals, can you use jetblue points for jetblue vacations, other ways to pay for a jetblue vacations package, jetblue vacations cancellation policy, are jetblue vacations refundable, final thoughts on jetblue vacation packages.

Some of the top airlines sell more than just flight tickets — they also sell vacation packages. JetBlue is one U.S.-based airline that offers these types of package deals, known as JetBlue Vacations.

JetBlue vacation packages make it easier for travelers to book their flights and hotel at the same time, and in many cases, you may even get a better deal on the whole trip. Here’s what you need to know about JetBlue Vacations.

JetBlue Vacations are bundled airline tickets and accommodation bookings. You can book a JetBlue Vacations package by going to jetbluevacations.com , or jetblue.com and clicking the JetBlue Vacations logo from the top of the page.

You can also book a package by phone at 1-844-JB-VACAY (528-2229). JetBlue does not charge an extra fee for booking a package over the phone. Currently, you cannot book a package on the JetBlue app.

When booking online, travelers can search for destinations and dates to see what flight and hotel options are available. After searching, options and price points are presented for booking, along with the TrueBlue earning potential for each package option.

jetblue trips

JetBlue Vacations has a deals section where travelers can take advantage of special promotions and offers that are valid for select destinations and dates. Booking trips via this portal can be an good way to save money.

jetblue trips

When you make a flight and hotel booking, you’ll also be given the option to add a rental car to your vacation package with car rental options from Avis and Budget. The second-driver fee is waived when booking a car rental through JetBlue Vacations, but age restrictions and renter requirements may still apply.

After verifying vacation package details, you can book and make a payment. You also will have an option to hold it until the end of the day (11 p.m. ET) by paying a $25 nonrefundable deposit. When you use this feature, you’ll have to call JetBlue to finalize the booking.

Yes, you can pay for your JetBlue Vacations package with TrueBlue points. To take advantage of this option, when you start searching, be sure to check “Use TrueBlue Points” box.

jetblue trips

You will then see a list of packages showing the total price in points + the cash component. To get started, you’ll want to select the “Choose this Deal” option.

jetblue trips

On the next page, after you select the room type and the flight you want, you’ll be taken to the checkout page. At this step, if you haven’t logged in, you will need to sign into your JetBlue account.

When you’re on the checkout page, you’ll see a sliding scale that allows you to select how many TrueBlue points you’d like to use for your trip.  If you have the full amount of the points, you can apply it to the entire purchase. But if you only have a portion of the required JetBlue points available, you can use a combination of cash and points.

Keep in mind that although it is more convenient to book a package with everything included, booking a flight and hotel separately (whether using points or cash) could be cheaper. If you don’t mind the extra effort required to comparison shop, you might want to take a look at what the flight and hotel will cost in points or in cash before purchasing a package.

When redeeming TrueBlue points for JetBlue Vacation purchases, no additional TrueBlue points will be earned.

Besides using TrueBlue points, you have several options when paying for a JetBlue Vacations package, including using a debit or credit card or making a deposit.

Use a JetBlue credit card

Other ways to pay include using a JetBlue credit card such as the JetBlue Card or JetBlue Plus Card , which can allow you to earn additional points on your purchase. Cardmembers can earn 3 points per $1 spent on eligible JetBlue purchases with the JetBlue Card and 6 points per $1 on the JetBlue Plus Card .

JetBlue points are worth 1.5 cents each, so if you purchase a $2,000 package using your JetBlue Plus Card , you’d earn 12,000 TrueBlue points, which is equivalent to $180.

Upfront deposit

Another option is to make a $200 nonrefundable deposit per person, then pay in full 30 days before departure for domestic trips or 45 days before departure for international trips. This option allows travelers a chance to spread out the cost of a bigger trip.

If you need to change or cancel a JetBlue Vacations package, you can do so by calling 1-844-JB-VACAY (528-2229). JetBlue won’t charge a cancellation fee, but the hotel might, so you need to check the policy stated for your specific package.

Any changes need to be made at least one day prior to the departure date. In addition, if you change the date or the number of occupants and there is a price increase, you will be responsible for paying the additional costs.

Just because you can cancel a JetBlue Vacation package, doesn’t mean you'll get your money back. Unfortunately, JetBlue Vacation packages are nonrefundable.

If you cancel a package, the cancellation fee will be subtracted from the original price. You'll get the remaining amount back as a JetBlue Vacations credit that you can use toward a new package. The credit expires one year from the date of cancellation.

JetBlue Best Price Guarantee

After booking a JetBlue Vacations flight + hotel package, keep an eye out on pricing for the next 48 hours. If you see the same exact vacation — flight, seat category, hotel, hotel room and exact dates for a cheaper price elsewhere, call JetBlue to ake advantage of JetBlue’s Best Price Guarantee .

If JetBlue can verify that the exact same package is less expensive elsewhere, you will get a refund for the price difference. However, you must call within 48 hours of booking the vacation package and more than seven days before the trip commences to be eligible for this refund.

Like many other airlines, JetBlue offers vacation packages. These package deals consist of flights and hotels that offer greater savings over booking everything individually.

JetBlue Vacations offers packages to destinations in the U.S., Canada, Central America, the Caribbean, and even a few locations in South America.

When you think of JetBlue, you might think it’s another low-cost carrier. But this airline, founded in 2000 to “bring humanity back to air travel,” has become a customer favorite known for great service and an awesome in-flight experience.

This post will show you how to book with JetBlue Vacations and why it’s beneficial to you.

With all of the vacation package options out there, why book one with JetBlue?

  • Best Price Guarantee: JetBlue will refund the price difference if you find the same price for your vacation package on another website within 48 hours of booking. This guarantee only applies to the flight and hotel portion of your package. The lower-priced itinerary must be identical and not utilize any unpublished fares, opaque fares, promo codes, or special discounts. To submit a best price guarantee claim, call JetBlue Customer Support at 800-JETBLUE (538-2583) and choose option 3.
  • Earn Bonus Points on Your JetBlue Vacation: You’ll earn 6 TrueBlue points per eligible dollar on your JetBlue flight and 1 TrueBlue point per dollar on accommodations and car rentals. Taxes and insurance don’t earn points. However, if you are booking with Cash + Points, you will NOT earn any TrueBlue points. And base points and flight segments earned on JetBlue Vacations packages now count toward Mosaic status.
  • Points Pooling: Earn and redeem your TrueBlue points faster by utilizing Points Pooling. When you use Points Pooling, you and your group can transfer each person’s TrueBlue points to the pool with no transfer fee. Then the Pool Leader can redeem those points.
  • No Phone Booking Fee: JetBlue offers a U.S.-based reservations crew that can help you book your vacation package 24/7 with no additional fees. It can be reached at 844-JB-VACAY (528-2229).

From the home page of JetBlue Vacations , you’ll see a simple search box. Input your departure and destination cities, travel dates, and the number of rooms and people, then click on Search flights + hotel .

JetBlue Vacations

The search results page might look a bit different than other websites. You’ll find the sorting at the top of the results and filtering options on the left side of the page.

JetBlue Vacations hotel search

You can filter your results list by many different options:

  • Price range
  • Tripadvisor rating
  • Star rating
  • Distance from the center of town
  • Hotel type (resort, condo, inn, etc.)

Then you can sort your results by best picks, price, star rating, Tripadvisor review, and hotel name. You’ll find these options to the upper right of the search results.

If you prefer to choose a hotel based on location, you can click on the Map View tab at the top left of your search results.

This is a helpful tool when you know the general area you want to stay in but aren’t sure about a specific hotel.

Search Results

Each listing in the search results gives you a lot of information.

You’ll see a small price highlighted in blue. While this is important, it’s good to realize that this is the price per person. If you want to know the total package price, including taxes and fees, look at the larger number underneath it.

You’ll see the number of TrueBlue points you’ll earn under the package price when you book the selected vacation package.

To see more details about the hotel, including pictures and room types, click on Choose this Deal .

You will next be able to select your departing flight. You will see the preselected flights at the top of the screen at the previously indicated price. If you are happy with these flights, click  Continue to Checkout . Otherwise, scroll down.

If you’d like to explore departing flight times, you can see availability at the bottom of this page, including any incremental costs. Select Keep this Flight or Select this Flight to continue.

You’ll follow the same steps for return flights, then click Continue to Checkout .

Complete Your JetBlue Vacations Purchase

Next, you’ll be prompted to fill out your passenger information. If you have a promo code, enter it at the top below the total due and click Apply.

JetBlue Vacations payment and traveler info

A Trip Hold allows you to hold your itinerary until 11 p.m. EST of the same day for a $25 deposit. If you choose to purchase the held itinerary, you need to call JetBlue to complete the purchase. If you don’t complete the purchase by 11 p.m. EST, your $25 deposit will be forfeited.

You can also reserve your package price with a non-refundable $200 per person deposit with the balance paid later.

Hot Tip: You will select your seats after your booking is complete.

After you decide about trip insurance (more on that below), all you need to do is decide how you’ll pay for your trip and input your payment information. When that’s finished, click Purchase Trip & Book , and your purchase is complete!

Travel Insurance

Right before the final payment step, you’ll be prompted to purchase trip protection . Purchasing travel insurance is a personal choice, and coverage varies based on where you purchase it.

JetBlue’s coverage offers reimbursement from Allianz for a canceled or interrupted trip due to perils including illness or injury. It also offers coverage for emergency medical care while abroad and a 24-hour emergency hotline.

JetBlue Vacations insurance

If you’re using the right credit card, an insurance policy might not be necessary. Lots of credit cards with travel insurance.

Here are a few of the most popular credit cards that offer travel insurance:

Hot Tip: For a full list of credit card insurance options, check out our guide to credit card insurance .

Changing Your Package

To avoid a JetBlue Vacations fee, changes to your JetBlue Vacations package (excluding tours and activities) must be made over the phone at least 1 day before departure . Some hotels have a different penalty period, so be sure to refer to your package’s exact terms.

There are no change fees when you book round-trip flights and hotels together. If the change involves a price increase, payment is due at the time of change.

Canceling Your Package

Cancellation policies vary by hotel, so it’s important to know your specific terms. If you need to cancel your vacation, call 844-JB-VACAY (528-2229).

JetBlue Vacations has eliminated its cancellation fees for cancellations made at least the day before departure. Customers are responsible for any increases to the price (including airfare increases) resulting from canceling.

After the cancellation fees are deducted, the remaining funds will be held as a JetBlue Vacations credit for 1 year from the date of cancellation. These funds can be applied to another JetBlue Vacations package, but not for individual flights on JetBlue.

Bottom Line: Changing or canceling your JetBlue Vacations package at least 1 day before departure no longer results in any JetBlue Vacations fees. Any increase in price due to the change is due at the time of change.

If you’re looking for a great deal and have some flexibility in your travel plans, check out JetBlue Vacations Deals . You can find these by clicking Deals in the main menu bar.

JetBlue Vacations Deals

These deals may offer great prices, but they’re also offered on specific dates and often from a select airport. Be sure to read the specifics of each deal.

While these deals are a good starting point, they aren’t always the best deal you can get.

You might be wondering if you can use your TrueBlue points to pay for a JetBlue Vacations package. The answer is yes — sort of.

You can opt to pay for your vacation package using cash and points.  However, there’s no option to use TrueBlue points to pay for the entire package.

When doing your initial search, click the box that says Use TrueBlue Points right above the Search flights + hotel button.

Then, you’ll see the price in cash and TrueBlue points instead of just cash.

Hot Tip: When you use TrueBlue points to pay for your JetBlue Vacations package, you’ll get a 1.3 cents per point value, which is on par with our regular valuation .

If you like the idea of using TrueBlue points to help pay for your vacation package but are short of the points you need, you’re in luck. There are many different ways to earn the extra TrueBlue points you need for your next vacation without stepping foot on an airplane, including travel partners , the TrueBlue Shopping portal , and the TrueBlue Dining program .

Transferrable Point Credit Cards

Most of the major transferable currencies — American Express Membership Rewards ,  Chase Ultimate Rewards , and  Citi ThankYou Points — transfer to JetBlue TrueBlue points.

JetBlue is a Chase transfer partner  at a 1:1 ratio, Citi transfer partner at a 1:1 ratio or 1:08 ratio (depending on the card you hold), and an American Express transfer partner  at a rate of 1:0.8.

Let’s get to the dollars and cents now. Will booking a JetBlue Vacations package actually save you money? We’ve priced out a few examples to see how the money works out.

The first example is a week-long stay at the Holiday Inn Resort and Casino Aruba Beach for 2 people plus roundtrip flights from Philadelphia (PHL) to Aruba (AUA).

JetBlue’s package deal beats out booking the flight (through JetBlue) and hotel (through Booking.com via Kayak ) separately, but not by much.

The package deal on Priceline doesn’t include identical flights, but they’re similar and direct on American Airlines, compared to JetBlue’s stopovers. With a savings of over $300 over the JetBlue Vacations package, Priceline is the clear winner here. But booking through JetBlue would still save you money over booking the hotel and flight separately, and you’d receive a $125 resort credit.

JetBlue Vacations also has a Best Price Guarantee , so if you find the same price for your vacation package on another website within 48 hours of booking, JetBlue will refund the price difference.

The next example is roundtrip flights for 2 from Atlanta (ATL) to Montego Bay (MBJ) and a 3-night weekend stay at the Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall .

In this example, JetBlue Vacations will save you money versus booking the hotel and flights separately or booking the package through an online travel agency (OTA) such as  Orbitz or Travelocity . By booking this package through JetBlue, you save  over $470 over booking separately and over $60 compared to the OTAs.

You’ll generally not earn any hotel loyalty points when you book through an airline or online travel agency. If you’re loyal to a brand like Marriott Bonvoy or Hyatt and the price difference is negligible, it’s often better to book directly through the hotel’s own website to earn points for your purchase.

Bottom Line: Booking a package deal through JetBlue Vacations can save you money — but not always. It’s a good idea to price out the package separately and through a metasearch engine or OTA like Kayak, Priceline, or Expedia before booking.

JetBlue is more than just a low-cost carrier. Like many other airlines and online travel agencies, it offers vacation packages — deals consisting of a hotel and flights booked as a bundle to save money.

In addition to destinations in the U.S., JetBlue Vacations can take you to Canada, Central America, the Caribbean, and even South America.

JetBlue Vacations can save you money, but it’s not always guaranteed. It’s a good idea to price out a package separately before you purchase to ensure you’re getting the best deal possible.

Don’t have summer plans yet? JetBlue is kicking off the busy travel season with discounted fares across its network. “Summer it up,” the airline wrote about the promotion on its website . “3 words: Vacay starts now.”

The airline’s latest sale, which must be booked by Thursday, May 16, at 11:59 p.m. ET, is available for travel between May 27 and July 10. All Thursday, Friday, and Saturday travel are blacked out as part of this deal. To find the best price, travelers can head to JetBlue’s Best Fare Finder tool to enter their home airport and desired destination. JetBlue displays the sale fares in a calendar format over the next few months. Travel + Leisure found a number of one-way deals to these popular summer break destinations

  • Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Nassau (NAS) for $83
  • New York (LGA) to Martha’s Vineyard (MVY) for $84
  • New York (JFK) to Grand Cayman (GCI) for $99
  • Westchester (HPN) to West Palm Beach (PBI) for $104
  • Los Angeles (LAX) to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) for $116
  • Boston (BOS) to Asheville (AVL) for $119
  • Orlando (MCO) to Punta Cana (PUJ) for $122

The sales comes as JetBlue has announced several exciting routes starting this summer. In July, JetBlue will begin flying aircraft with its popular Mint business class product on flights from New York to San Juan and Vancouver.

Additionally, JetBlue has a major route expansion planned from its Puerto Rico hub, inaugurating new flights between San Juan and Providence, Rhode Island; Westchester, New York; Cancun; Santiago, Dominican Republic; Medellín, Colombia; and St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands this fall. JetBlue fliers will continue to enjoy free Wi-Fi on flights and test out a new “watch party” feature , which allows travelers to watch inflight entertainment with groups of up to five passengers.
