The Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP) is an evidence-based model of patient care designed to prevent functional and cognitive decline of older adults during a hospital stay. Specific interventions targeting these declines are implemented by interdisciplinary clinicians and highly trained volunteers.
Shortly after the implementation of the HELP program at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH ) in 2017, clinicians of the program of the JGH and faculty at McGill’s School of Physical and Occupational Therapy (SPOT) developed a partnership where all first-year physical and occupational therapy students would receive the specialized training as part of their first-year course, Introduction to Professional Practice II. Students receive six hours of theoretical training in class and two hours of practical training at the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning before interacting with patients. The knowledge they acquire enables them to participate in the HELP program and gain on-site experience in their first year of studies.
In a letter to HELP’s organizers in January, Annette Majnemer, PhD, the Faculty’s Vice-Dean of Education, praised, “the impactful and innovative contributions you are making to teaching, learning, and education. You were chosen to receive this award this year, based on the nature of your innovation (originality, sustainability) and the impact on learners (replicability, number and range of learners impacted). We are deeply grateful for the work you are doing to advance education in our faculty.”
Read much more about this novel partnership as well as student and patient insights in the JGH News, magazine of the Jewish General Hospital article Enhancing care for older in-patients is an eye-opening education for McGill students.

I'll be studying in Tomsk starting October 1st and I was wondering what kind of things there are to do in the city! I love classical music and saw there is the Tomsk Philharmonic Orchestra which I'm excited about, but I was wondering what other things to do there are? Is there anywhere that does musicals? Is FK Tom Tomsk worth going to see? Is there anywhere to go skydiving? What good restaurants are there?
Any opinions would be good! Budget isn't much of a factor as I make about 80,000p/month.

Thats more than enough for Tomsk. Im living here))))
IWe'd recommend to travel to Vasyugan marshes. It will take a couple of days to get there, to "the Russian Amazon", the second largest marsh in the world after the Brazilian Pantanal. They stretched 573 km and keep growing, with a total area of 53 000 sq kilometers, Vasyugan is larger than Switzerland. By binding carbon, the marshes prevent the greenhouse effect serving as giant natural filter. If global warming continues and all the carbon currently stored in these Siberian marshes is released back to the atmosphere, it will mark the end of the life on our planet as we know it.
We usually go to Kargasok village from Tomsk, overnight there and then take a boat and of course the local armed hunter (midh the bears) to almost abandoned Mylzhyno village for the most authentic Siberian experience. You may consider other options as well.
Tjere are a lot of student activity. Where you willbe study in?

Lawsuit challenges Southwest’s free ticket program for Hispanic students
A group founded by a prominent anti-affirmative action activist on Monday sued Southwest Airlines, alleging that a two-decade-old program that awards free round-trip flights to Hispanic undergraduate and graduate students is racially discriminatory.
Edward Blum’s American Alliance for Equal Rights in a lawsuit filed in federal court in Dallas alleged that the airline’s program violated federal civil rights laws by excluding non-Hispanic students from eligibility for free tickets.
His group alleged that as a result, two Asian and white students who were members of his nonprofit were barred from applying to the program. The lawsuit seeks an injunction blocking Southwest from using its eligibility criteria.
“Southwest Airlines should immediately open this program to all students, regardless of their skin color or ethnic heritage,” Blum said in a statement.
Dallas-based Southwest did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The lawsuit marked the latest in a series of cases Blum has filed in recent months challenging corporate diversity programs after another group he founded last year convinced the conservative-majority U.S. Supreme Court to bar the consideration of race as a factor in college admissions.
Monday’s lawsuit centers on Southwest’s ¡Lánzate! Travel Award Program, which launched in 2004 and is operated in partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.
To be eligible for four round-trip tickets, an undergraduate or graduate student must live at least 200 miles from their home and be Hispanic. Southwest says the program has helped more than 1,500 students.
The lawsuit alleged that the program violated Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act of 1866, a Civil War-era law that bars racial bias in contracting.
It also claimed the program violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which bars discrimination in federally funded programs or activities. Federal funding Southwest received during the Covid pandemic means the airline can be sued under that statute, according to the complaint.

Hi everyone,
it's easy enough to find details of trains between Tayga and Tomsk, but as they are very few and far between, does anyone have a link to a bus schedule?
Or has anyone had experience of taking shared taxis or similar?
Many thanks in advance.
