Megan Fox is a proud mom of 3! Everything to know about her kids

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Megan Fox is a mom of three children, with ex Brian Austin Green. While the actors filed for divorce in 2020 (it was finalized in 2022), they're devoted to co-parenting together.

The former couple met on the set of Fox's former sitcom "Hope & Faith" in 2004 when Fox was 18 years old and Green was 30. They dated until 2010 and married in Hawaii at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Fox and Green share three children: Noah, 11 , Bodhi, 10 , and Journey, 7 .

Green also has a 22-year-old son named Kassius with actor Vanessa Marcil and a 1-year-old son named Zane with his fiancée, professional dancer Sharna Burgess.

Fox is engaged to musician Machine Gun Kelly , who shares 14-year-old daughter Casie with his ex Emma Cannon.

Here's everything to know about Megan Fox's children.

Noah Shannon Green

Fox's firstborn child, Noah Shannon Green, was born on September 27, 2012.

"He is healthy, happy, and perfect," Fox wrote on her Facebook page. "We are humbled to have the opportunity to call ourselves the parents of this beautiful soul and I am forever grateful to God for allowing me to know this kind of boundless, immaculate love."

Fox told "Glamour UK" that Noah started wearing dresses when he was a toddler, so she did research to understand her child better.

“Noah started wearing dresses when he was about two, and I bought a bunch of books that sort of addressed these things and addressed a full spectrum of what this is," Fox told the outlet. "Some of the books are written by transgender children. Some of the books are just about how you can be a boy and wear a dress; you can express yourself through your clothing however you want. And that doesn’t even have to have anything to do with your sexuality. So from the time they were very young, I’ve incorporated those things into their daily lives so that nobody feels like they are weird or strange or different."

Fox said she didn't want her kids on social media.

"I can’t control the way other people react to my children," Fox told Glamour UK, adding, "I can’t control the things that other children — that they go to school with — have been taught and then repeat to them. That’s also why I don’t really put my children on Instagram or social media. I’m so proud of my kids."

Green also defended Noah's clothing choices, telling “Hollywood Pipeline’s " Straight from the Source ," "I’ve heard from some people that they don’t agree with him wearing dresses. To them I say, ‘I don’t care. He’s 4 and if he wants to wear it then he wears it.’”

In 2018, Fox told TODAY.com that Noah, then 6, was an "unbelievable pianist" and wanted to be a fashion designer.

“Everything for him is about beauty, color, texture,” she said, adding that Noah "has the potential to be an incredible artist. He could be a Pablo Picasso — I’m not going to squash his vibrant, beautiful mind!”

Bodhi Ransom Green

Bodhi Ransom Green was born on February 12, 2014.

“Bodhi: Stunner. Clown. Unicorn,”  Fox wrote in the Instagram caption of the birth announcement.

When Bodhi was two months old, Fox told Ellen DeGeneres that she got pregnant only two weeks into filming the action movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

“Anyone that’s been pregnant knows your first trimester can be pretty rough and you’re nauseous all day long," she said. "So I spent the whole shoot basically (sick).”

“The producers would come see me in the morning in the makeup trailer and I would be clinging to a box of saltines and we had kept pickles in the refrigerator for me," Fox told DeGeneres. "I was just constantly on the verge of vomiting.”

In 2018, Fox told TODAY.com that Bohdi was a "really evolved and kind, gentle spirit." In a 2023 "Sports Illustrated Swimsuit" interview, Fox joked that Bohdi was "a little bro" and “The classic middle child where there’s no room to be bad."

Journey River Green

Journey River Green was born on August 4, 2016.

While pregnant with her third child, Fox said shehad some sort of communication with her unborn baby.

“You don’t hear an audible voice, but I feel like you receive messages from the child if you’re open to it,” Fox told   Jimmy Kimmel . “For instance, this baby wanted me to live somewhere else, so we’re moving to a whole different place in Los Angeles because I feel like that’s where this baby wants to be raised.”

Fox added, “I also feel like this baby is telling me it’s kind of like a Wernher von Braun or an Elon Musk — like a super genius."

In 2023, Fox mentioned that Journey is “naughty and mischievous" and “charming and so so cute" during her “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit” interview.

Fox added, “When he was 3, he already knew like 1,600 species of dinosaurs. So his mind is very powerful.”

Megan Fox shares beautiful photo of new baby boy Journey River

Megan Fox welcomed her new son to the world in August, and now she's giving the world a chance to get a glimpse of Journey River Green.

The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" star posted a photo of herself and the little guy to Instagram Wednesday without comment, but who needs words when her baby's big eyes and sweet expression do all the talking?

Of course, Journey has talked to mom for some time now. Oh, sure, at 12 weeks old, he can't actually speak. But according to Fox, he was in constant communication throughout her pregnancy.

And that's not all he told her.

"I also feel like this baby is telling me it's kind of like a Wernher von Braun or an Elon Musk — like a super genius," she said.

For now, we know he's definitely super cute.

Who Is Megan Fox?

After winning modeling awards, Megan Fox dropped out of high school and moved to L.A., landing her first screen role in the 2001 Olsen twins film, Holiday in the Sun . The actress enjoyed a career breakout opposite Shia LaBeouf in the blockbuster Transformers , and she went on to prominent roles in films like Jennifer's Body , Jonah Hex , This Is 40 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles . She has three children with actor Brian Austin Green.

Fox was born on May 16, 1986, in Memphis, Tennessee. At the age of 5, she began taking singing and dancing lessons, which continued when she moved with her family to St. Petersburg, Florida, at age 10. At 13, she added modeling classes to her repertoire.

In 1999, Fox won multiple awards at the American Modeling and Talent Convention. This success convinced her to drop out of high school and move to Los Angeles just a few years later, at the age of 16.

Film and TV Roles

'holiday in the sun,' 'what i like about you', 'hope & faith,' 'confessions of a teenage drama queen'.

The year 2004 was a big one for Fox. She made an appearance in the CBS hit comedy Two and a Half Men , starring Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer, and was a series regular on the short-lived WB sitcom, The Help . She also began appearing on the ABC sitcom Hope & Faith , in which she played the daughter of Faith Ford's character in the second and third seasons. Her performance earned her a Young Artists Award nomination in 2005. Fox also returned to film work that year when she won the role of Carla Santi, a rival of Lindsay Lohan's character, in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen .

'Transformers' and Sequel

Fox landed her biggest break in 2007 when she was cast alongside Shia LaBeouf in the Steven Spielberg -produced blockbuster Transformers . Fox played romantic lead Mikaela Banes in the film, earning an MTV Movie Award nomination for breakthrough performance.

With her stunning looks, Fox regularly graced the pages of men's magazines like Maxim during this time, earning FHM 's designation of "Sexiest Woman Alive" in 2008. She also drew attention for her talent and marketability, topping Moviefone's list of "The 25 Hottest Actors Under 25" in 2008.

That year, Fox joined the cast of the comedy How to Lose Friends and Alienate People , which performed well in the U.K. but didn't achieve much commercial success in the U.S. In 2009, Fox reprised her role as Mikaela Banes in Transformers: Rise of the Fallen . The sequel was again a box office success and kept Fox in the media spotlight. She signed on for the third installment of the franchise but later left the project, reportedly due to her disagreements with director Michael Bay.

'Jennifer's Body,' 'Jonah Hex,' 'TMNT'

In 2009, Fox appeared in the horror film Jennifer's Body , which opened to minor success. She went on to play Leila, the gun-toting mistress, in the Wild West film Jonah Hex (2010), and enjoyed a supporting part in Judd Apatow's This Is 40 (2012). Fox then took on the role of April O'Neil, friend of the titular terrapins in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (2016).

'New Girl,' 'Zeroville'

Away from the big screen, Fox landed the recurring role of Reagan Lucas on season 5 of the popular comedy New Girl , which began in 2016. In late 2018, she hosted the four-part Travel Channel docu-series Legends of the Lost with Megan Fox , which explored the historical value of mythological people and events like the Amazons and the Trojan War. The following year, the actress returned to feature film work with Above the Shadows , Zeroville and The Battle of Jangsari .

Personal Life

In June 2010, Fox became engaged to actor Brian Austin Green of Beverly Hills, 90210 fame. The couple had been engaged previously, following a two-year relationship, but canceled their wedding in 2009. Shortly after their second engagement, Fox made headlines when she lost her two-carat diamond ring on a beach while vacationing with Green in Hawaii. It was later revealed that the couple exchanged vows while they were in Hawaii.

The couple has three sons, Noah (b. 2012), Bodhi (b. 2014), and Journey (b. 2016).

In August 2015, Green and Fox announced their separation after 11 years together, before reconciling in 2016. In May 2020, it was reported that the couple had separated again. Fox began a relationship with rapper Machine Gun Kelly soon thereafter. The couple announced their engagement in January 2021.

Journey River Green

Journey River Green is the youngest child between the former couple, Megan Fox and her former husband Brian Austin Green . Both Journey’s mom and dad are renowned actors.

Apart from Journey, the ex-celebrity couple shares two other kids, both of which are boys. One thing that is really causing curiosity amongst us all is how are the exes taking care of their children.

In this article today, we shall find out in addition to some interesting facts about Journey River Green, like his age, relationship with his parents, siblings, and more!

Table of Contents

Journey River Green Wiki: When Is His Birthday?

He was born on August 4th, 2016 , in Los Angeles, California. He arrived in the world at 11 p.m. local time. As of now, he is five-year-old and will turn six.

The third bundle of joy between Brian Austin and Megan Fox, Journey belongs to the Caucasian ethnicity and has American nationality. Moreover, he has Scottish ancestry.

His father Brian is Van Nuys, California native while his mother Megan is from Tennessee.

Journey River Green Brothers

The eldest child between Megan and Brian, Noah Shannon Green , was born on September 27th, 2012 . The second-born, Bodhi Ransom Green came into this world on February 12th, 2014 . All three Green siblings were born in Los Angeles. After Journey’s arrival, the Green family became complete.

Journey River Brothers

During the course of Brian and Megan’s relationship, both of them were deemed the best parents in Hollywood. They used to spend a lot of time with their kids. From going out and about a couple of times a week to spending quality time together regardless of their busy schedule, the lovebirds made sure their boys felt loved up.

Even after the couple’s divorce, they have made sure to take utmost care of their children. All three of them usually appears on their parents’ respective Instagram account, though Megan rarely shares photos of them.

Megan Fox Has Fixed Some Rules For Her Children

There are some strict family rules made by the actress Fox for her children. She doesn’t allow her kids to use smartphones or television rather prefers to let them go to enjoy outdoor activities.

Besides, at present, all of Megan’s children including Journey are at a vegan-friendly school near their house in Los Angeles. They love animals and also protect them.

Journey River’s Parents Had a Different Way of Parenting

As we mentioned above, Megan and Brian’s had quite a unique way when comes to parenting. During an appearance in Ever After with Jaleel White, Brian openly talked about parenting his three kids with Megan.

Journey River Green Parents

The former flames used a basketball-like analogy while taking care of the boys. Brian said,

“My wife and I, we got really good at man-to-man. Then you have three [kids] and all of a sudden you have to play zone. ‘OK, I’ll cover [this] half of the room, you cover that half.’ Then if a kid steps in our zone, then we’ve got it covered.”

Eventually, Brian got used to the technique which made him comfier with the boys. He further added,

“You get used to that, and then you start playing zone by yourself. You start going, ‘Yeah, I can do this.”

The podcast was released just a couple of months before Megan filed for divorce, which is quite ironic.

Fans Have Accused Megan Fox of Being An Absentee Mother

Like many separated couples who spend time with their kids in their own time, Brian and Megan too did the same. It’s one thing to not share pictures of your family altogether, but it is a completely different thing when you start getting private about such stuff right after separation.

Apparently, ever since their split Brian has been constantly sharing pics with the boys, however, Megan has rarely added pictures of her children on social media.

Now we are sure you can guess what happened after she stopped adding pictures of her offspring, while her ex-husband has been active in that case. Yes, people started calling out Megan for being an absentee mom.

While Austin rarely leaves any occasion to share pictures of his sons, Fox is a different story. For instance, back during the 2020 Halloween Brian uploaded a photo of himself with Journey in the background as they wore costumes. Now Megan hasn’t shared a single photo with her kids on this big occasion and after seeing Brian’s posts, fans started speculating Megan isn’t as close to her kids as their father.

Upon reading all the negative comments, Megan took to her Instagram and lashed out at her ex-hubby for ‘feeding’ the rumor she’s an ‘absent mother.’ She uploaded the same picture with an incredibly negative status and demanded Brian remove the photo. See for yourself!

Journey River Halloween

After the backlash, Brian, surprisingly adhere to Megan’s demand and removed the picture, and re-uploaded it with Journey cropped out from it.

Journey River And His Siblings Had Difficulty Learning In Coronavirus Lockdown

The majority of us all suffered one way or another during the coronavirus pandemic. Likewise, when the world was in a state of lockdown, Journey and his brothers were stuck inside the four walls of their house.

Nevertheless, he saw the situation in a positive way. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in December 2020, Brian vividly talked about all the challenges that came with taking care of his sons during the lockdown.

While many kids had to learn virtually, Journey, Noah, and Bodhi had difficulty learning that way. This is why their father came up with a unique way to cope with his oldest, Noah’s needs. Brian said,

“We have a pod of six other kids, because our 8-year-old, he just wasn’t into the remote learning at all. Sitting in front of a computer and doing that, that just wasn’t his thing. … I think some kids need the socialization. Like, they really need to be with other kids.”

Well, he really is a doting dad.

Her Mother Megan Is Dating Machine Gun Kelly

Following her split from Journey River Green, Megan is currently dating rapper Machine Gun Kelly. After dating for a while, they even got engaged in early 2022.

Well, talking about Kelly, prior to dating Megan, he was in a relationship with Emma Cannon. From their relationship, they also had a son named Casie Colson Baker .

How Much Is Journey River Green’s Net Worth?

It is evident that Journey’s parents are multi-millionaire. His mother Megan is worth a resounding $8 million while his father Brian has a total fortune of $8 million in 2023.

This is why people tell you it’s about the journey and not the destination. Because the journey is actually Journey River Green, Megan Fox’s third son with Brian Austin Green, and he is adorable.

The actress shared a photo of her newest, born in August, on Instagram Wednesday.

Laying next to her diaper-clad baby, Fox wore a blue, floral frock, gave us #eyebrowgoals, and filled us with the false hope that mothering a newborn can’t be that hard. Oh, the power of a good filter.

Nearly three months old, the baby with superstar parents looked ready for his close-up with his mesmerizing eyes.

Megan Fox says she gets 'messages' from her unborn baby

The Frederick’s of Hollywood global ambassador and collaborator unexpectedly showed up with a baby bump at Paramount's CinemaCon presentation back in April, after filing for divorce from Green in 2015.

Journey is Fox and Green’s third bundle of joy together. They are also parents to Noah, 4, and Bodhi, 2, who we think Journey resembles, don’t you?

Green also has a son, Kassius, 14, from his previous relationship with actress Vanessa Marcil.

Altuzarra satin coat; Maison Margiela pumps; Wolford tights; Pamela Love necklace.

Megan Fox tries to convince herself that she’s an extrovert, but the reality is that after releasing her first book of poetry, about various relationships with men in her life, she’s in need of retreating back home to L.A. to feel like herself again.

“I think a lot of people are under the impression that I like attention, which is hilarious because I’m so tragically introverted. I wish I loved attention. I would have the best life. I would have so much fun. I have so many opportunities,” Fox says. “I could be doing so many things, but instead, I have crippling anxiety and I never want to leave my house.”

Meet dante sabatino, fashion's most trusted psychic, nicholas galitzine has 'drunk the kool-aid' and officially entered his star era.

“I wrote so much more that wasn’t included in the book. There was so much that needed to come out of me. I have so much resentment and so much rage and I just have so many feelings, and so the writing them wasn’t difficult,” she says. “The writing them was fun. The living with them is the difficult part.”

Since its release earlier this month, “Pretty Boys Are Poisonous” has become a New York Times bestseller and found a passionate audience of women, many of whom are discovering Fox’s voice for the first time. Fox has been surprised at the level of emotion she encounters at readings, the way her words have touched people. And despite her discomfort, Fox always knew she had to release these poems. She was told by a therapist that if she continued to hold in the pain it would turn into an illness inside her; the only way was to expel it.

“I knew that I always had to put it out. I feel like one of my strengths is my spiritual foundation, or the way that I process things and my mindset, and I feel like of all the things I could offer people through the platform that is celebrity, that would be my best offering,” she says. “And so something like this I felt had to go into the public because it’s hopefully going to be much more impactful than a movie I’ve done or anything I’m going to post on f–king Instagram.”

“Pretty Boys Are Poisonous” takes its title from one of the poems inside, after Fox sent several around to friends and that particular name resonated.

She writes in the introduction to the book that she’s long had a savior/martyr complex, has believed she’s “meant to be a sacrificial lamb” and that the book is both for those who have had similar experiences but also for her “because f–k. I deserve better.” None of the men she writes about are named; canceling someone was never her intention, she says, but the focus also remains on Fox’s words and experiences, rather than the men who have caused her pain.

Fox shares three sons — Noah, 11; Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 7 — with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, and they will presumably pick up the book one day. She hopes that the lessons her sons take away from its words are echoes of how she is raising them.

“I think because I have sons, it’s very important to me to raise boys who are not like these men that I’ve been with,” she says. “It’s very important for me to raise boys who are able to have a very deep emotional intimacy with their partner. It’s very important to me that they are not liars, that they are able to be fully transparent and honest and respectful and experience at some point in their life, I don’t expect them when they’re 16 to have a sacred love, but I do expect them at some point to get to that place, because I am their first introduction into women and the way that I love them is going to influence the way they are allowed to love others when they go out into a relationship. And so I hope that just through my transparency in the way that I engage with them, in the way that I am demonstrative and affectionate with them, that allows them to love in a really healthy way.”

The book includes two poems about a recent miscarriage she experienced with current partner Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker.

“And so that love element really made this miscarriage really tragic for me and left me with a lot of grief and a lot of suffering. So I put it into a lot of writing. He’s written about them in his albums as well, he wrote a couple of songs about the miscarriage. So it just felt like something that I could address publicly because it’s been addressed in one way through him, so I have a space to express as well.”

In the poem “The Stepford Wife,” she writes of feeling like a “supporting actor in everyone else’s life while being a featured extra in my own.” When asked if she feels she is now in a place of leading role in her own life, Fox replies that she’s “definitely” not there yet.

“I have to work on being more selfish, and I’ve always cringed at the word ‘selfish’ because it feels inherently wrong, but it’s wrong to have no self, either. And so I’m in the process of learning to have a healthy boundary and a healthy amount of selfishness.

Part of her journey has been reexamining her relationship to fashion. Fox has had hyper-sexualized labels placed on her — with media outlets branding her “hottest” or “sexiest” — ever since she became famous via “Transformers” in her early 20s. That, coupled with her social anxiety, made her relationship to clothing complicated.

“I’ve had a weird relationship with fashion because for so long I was rejecting being famous and rejecting whatever this image was that was sort of hung on me, this person I was supposed to be. And so for a long time, I ran from fashion and lived in nothing but sweatpants or workout clothes and never wanted to express myself. My expression was blocked in that way for a long time,” she says. “And then more recently, I rediscovered it, and especially right now, I’m going through all these different phases of like, ‘what do I like and what can I wear that expresses how I’m feeling or what do I want or what I want to say in this moment?’ I’m learning to use fashion in a way that reflects who I am now. But for a long time I didn’t utilize it because I was really suffering with that existential question of, ‘well, who am I?’”

“I feel like that’s such a good representation of who I am in general. And before she was turned into a demon and she became this Goth icon, [Jennifer] was this poppy, typical cheerleader, Forever 21 girl. She was that typical girl who then there was this other side to her where she became the sort of demon sorceress. And I am both of those things, and I always have been,” Fox says.

She recently chopped her hair into a bob and dyed it bright red, and is in the midst of covering her arm in a tattoo sleeve. “Eccentric” is how she describes herself, both as a teenager and now.

“I’m just experimenting now with being in really oversize pieces or being in things that are just not as necessarily revealing. But then there’s a part of me that’s like, ‘no, I need to be naked this day,’” she says. “I don’t have one consistent style. It really does depend on just what I’m feeling in the moment.”

Observing and honoring how she feels is the Megan Fox of today — notably, not one on a film set. Writing, she says, is the outlet that brings her the most creative fulfillment, not following directions on camera.

“Everybody’s going to get so mad at me for saying this, I don’t care: as an actor, you’re kind of just a puppet. You’re a puppet for the studio or for the producers, the director, the writing, whatever. You’re not really in control of any of the creative processes that are happening. Yes, you can bring your creativity and express something through it within this very limited box. But I think there’s only a handful of actors who are really talented in that way, where they can fully express within the boundaries of what it is to be an actor. And I’m not one of them,” Fox says.

“So I don’t experience it as being a creative release. I need a lot more control to feel creative. I feel creative when I paint or when I draw. I need to be able to be reckless and to not have a bunch of guidelines. And when you’re acting on a set, you are so f–king micromanaged that I cannot consider that a creative release for me. If anything, it’s actually very oppressive for me.”

“I am going to take that as it comes. I don’t really have a plan. I guess we’ll see, the universe and the world will show me where I’m needed, and that’s what I’ll do,” she says. “Say a prayer for me.”

The Transformation Of Megan Fox From Childhood To Expendables 4

Megan Fox

Few careers have seen the soaring highs and lackluster lows that have marked the rollercoaster ride of Megan Fox. After getting her start in teen soap operas, she successfully transitioned to major blockbusters, became somewhat typecast, bounced back, and angered Hollywood power players with some outspoken comments, but endured far longer than some expected. Through it all, the Tennessee-born actress has built up a strong resume, remaining a recognizable face on screens both big and small.

"I had this incredible breakthrough," Fox explained to  InStyle  in 2021. "I realized that I had been living in a self-imposed prison for so long because I let other people tell me who I was or what I wasn't. I hid because I was hurt."

At 13, Fox began modeling; by 15, she appeared in a Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen movie ("Holiday in the Sun") and sitcoms like "Two and a Half Men." This rise to success at a young age resulted in some personal struggles for Fox — only amplified with her 2007 breakthrough in "Transformers" — and while some were publicized for the whole world to see, others were dealt with behind closed doors.

As she returns to blockbusters with a starring role alongside Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham in "Expendables 4," here's a breakdown of the ups and downs in Fox's one-of-a-kind Hollywood career.

She was raised in a religious household

Megan Fox's early years were a far cry from where her career eventually led. The actress was born and raised in Tennessee in a strict Pentecostal household. "I was grounded for all of my childhood," she told  Elle Magazine in 2009. "Not most — all."

Fox's parents divorced when she was 3 years old, and her mother remarried. She and her sister later attended Catholic school, but this religious upbringing clashed with an inherent rebelliousness towards authority figures. The end result was a difficult upbringing by all accounts, and Fox found refuge in the arts (she began dancing and studying drama at age 5).

By 13 she had a budding modeling career and a desire to leave it all behind and move to Los Angeles. Fox tested out of high school when she was 17 so she could move, pursuing a full-time career as an actress. Although Fox left her Pentecostal upbringing behind, the actress has remained spiritual in her adult life, continuing to attend church with her family, though the experience has always been intense.

Fox later told  Esquire  that at age 8, she began speaking in tongues while attending church in Tennessee with her family. However, the catharsis Fox has described from such moments served as a replacement for more intense vices like drugs or alcohol. "I was raised to believe that you're safe in God's hands," she said. "But I don't feel safe with myself."

Her earliest acting role was alongside the Olsen twins

Prior to moving to Los Angeles full-time, Megan Fox made her acting debut alongside two huge stars from the late '90s and early 2000s: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen . The twin sisters got their start on the sitcom "Full House" before transitioning to starring together in direct-to-video films. Released in 2001, "Holiday in the Sun" cast Fox as Brianna, a spoiled teen girl competing with the twins for the attention of an attractive male worker at the resort they're staying at.

As for working with the then-iconic child stars, Fox was quite intimidated by their star power. Later on, in an interview with Access , Fox talked up the Olsen twins, saying, "I was in awe of all the clothes and how fashionable they were back then," alluding to the sisters' later success as fashionistas. In the years after "Holiday in the Sun," Fox continued acting frequently, even booking prominent roles in the soap opera "Ocean Ave.," as well as the sitcom "Hope & Faith."

Most importantly, during this time of her career, Fox took work as an extra in "Bad Boys II," which is where she would first cross paths with director Michael Bay. Though a few years passed before Fox's big break, she'd owe it all to Bay, who saw a burgeoning star in the young actress and cast her in one of his biggest blockbuster hits.

Michael Bay transformed Megan Fox into a mainstream celebrity

Megan Fox shot to pop culture superstardom at 21 years old, anchoring Michael Bay's 2007 "Transformers," a live-action adaptation of the cartoon and toy franchise. Starring as Mikaela Banes, the love interest for Shia LaBeouf's mousy Sam Witwicky, she teams up with the teen when they're forced into an intergalactic war against the villainous Decepticons.

Bay's lingering camera and music-video-influenced aesthetic proved an irresistible showcase for Fox, who received nominations at the MTV Movie Awards and Teen Choice Awards. The character appealed to male audiences for obvious reasons, but also to women, perhaps due to her rejection of gender norms — such as knowledge of cars and subversion of damsel-in-distress action movie cliches. Nevertheless, the role drew criticism from some feminist scholars.

As described in Marc DiPaolo's book "War, Politics, and Superheroes: Ethics and Propaganda in Comics and Film," one iconic scene featuring Mikaela helping Sam fix his car was a bridge too far. Nevertheless, DiPaolo attributes the scene to her sudden rise to fame — with help from the infamous yellow Camaro.

Fox becomes a late 2000s sex symbol

With the Camaro scene in "Transformers" a catalyst for Megan Fox's career uptick, the actress took advantage of the sex appeal that got her there. Shortly after the release of "Transformers," Fox was featured in magazines like Maxim and FHM, often ranking highly in the publications' listings of the hottest women in Hollywood. She was favorably compared to stars like Angelina Jolie and Marilyn Monroe, though Fox would often balk at the media equating her to other women simply for her looks and perceived edginess.

Unlike other stars at the time, who would often attempt to reject such labels placed on them by the media, Fox embraced her public image as a sexpot. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly , Fox expressed a more optimistic view of her sexualization, saying, "I think all women in Hollywood are known as sex symbols. That's what our purpose is in this business. You're merchandised, you're a product. You're sold and it's based on sex. But that's okay. I think women should be empowered by that, not degraded."

Some objected to Fox's comments, insisting that not all women in Hollywood are as sexualized as her. It's perhaps here where a long history of conflict between Fox and the entertainment media world began, with her objectified public image maybe or maybe not being an inherent element to her success.

Her disputes with Bay force her to leave Transformers behind

Megan Fox reprised her role as Mikaela in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," the 2009 franchise sequel once again directed by Michael Bay. Production was reportedly difficult on Fox, who quarreled with Bay over matters like her character's weight. Fox later came under scrutiny for publicly comparing Bay's directorial style to Adolf Hitler. "He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is ... he's vulnerable and fragile in real life," she told  Wonderland Magazine . "And then on set, he's a tyrant."

As co-workers on "Revenge of the Fallen" publicly denounced her comments, Fox was fired from the third film in the franchise, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon." Several anonymous crew members on the second film even took to the media to vent their frustrations about Fox's on-set behavior in defense of Bay; Fox denied the accusations and apologized for starting the public circus in the first place.

Although other crew members would later publicly back up Fox's on-set behavior, her departure from the blockbuster franchise could've spelled the end of Fox's career as a movie star. Thankfully, she found she was still in demand from other directors, and soon took center-stage in her own high-profile genre film.

Jennifer's Body turns Fox into a feminist icon

The same year "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" famously resulted in her dismissal, Megan Fox toplined "Jennifer's Body," a horror comedy penned by Diablo Cody (at the time a red-hot screenwriter coming off her Oscar-winning script for "Juno"). The film follows Fox as the titular Jennifer, a high schooler possessed by a demon that causes her to kill and eat her male classmates.

From the get-go, Fox was drawn to the film for giving her more of an opportunity to showcase her acting talents. "I felt like I was able to make fun of my own image as to how some people might perceive Megan Fox to be," she told MovieOnline .

The film was sexy, snarky, and subversive — and upon release, a dud at the box office. Critics derided its campy tone, and although it has garnered a cult audience of devotees over the years, even today it is rated below 50% on Rotten Tomatoes. In retrospect, some feel that the ultimate sin caused by "Jennifer's Body" was in being poorly marketed as a Fox sexy film rather than highlighting the irreverent, smart script that eventually found an appreciative audience.

In the post-#MeToo era of Hollywood, as the straight male gaze is increasingly avoided, "Jennifer's Body" has been reappraised by many as a powerful entry in feminist film history.

Fox and Bay reunite for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Despite the critical failure of "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" and the box-office disappointment of "Jennifer's Body," Megan Fox's star power remained resilient. As the 2010s rolled in, she made prominent appearances in films like the DC Comics adaptation of "Jonah Hex" (another notorious box office bomb), the romantic comedy "Friends with Kids," and the Judd Apatow dramedy "This is 40." In 2014, however, something unexpected happened as Fox reunited with Michael Bay for another live-action adaptation of a classic kid's franchise.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," produced by Bay and directed by Jonathan Liebesman, featured Fox as April O'Neil, the plucky New York City reporter who discovers and befriends the group of sewer-dwelling ninjas. There was some early pushback to the announcement of Fox's casting, particularly due to her history with Bay and the interest of other actresses in playing the role. However, Entertainment Weekly argued in her favor, writing, "Fox respects the roles that fans play in these cult followings."

Fox reprised the role in the film's 2016 sequel, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows," which bombed at the box office and ultimately resulted in the cancellation of a third film in the franchise. Nevertheless, Fox wouldn't be out of work for too long — instead, she pivoted to television.

New Girl showcases Fox's comedic strengths

Even Megan Fox was suspicious when in 2015, she was asked to join the hit Fox sitcom "New Girl," starring Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson. The actress joined the series cast during its fifth season when Deschanel briefly left the show on maternity leave. When Jessica Day (Deschanel) is sequestered for jury duty in her absence, Fox enters the apartment as Reagan Lucas, an old friend of Cece's (Hannah Simone); she eventually begins dating Nick (Johnson) throughout Seasons 5 and 6.

Despite mixed reviews for Fox's performances in past films, she was a revelation to television critics as part of the cast of "New Girl." As The Hollywood Reporter put it, "When she's given good dialogue, Fox is funny, and her character has an accurate and reductive perspective on how predictable the flatmates have become that the writers would be wise to heed."

Although Fox remained on "New Girl" once Deschanel returned, and appeared regularly throughout Season 6, the character ultimately winded up leaving by the end of that season so that Nick could reunite romantically with Jess. While Fox's tenure on "New Girl" was brief, it showed that the actress could do more than run from robots and seductively fix Camaros.

Fox's personal relationships become tabloid fodder

While Megan Fox's professional career has inspired plenty of spilled ink in entertainment magazines and websites, her personal life has garnered headlines in the more tabloid-minded corners of the media. In 2010, she married "90210" actor-slash-rapper Brian Austin Green, whom she met on the set of "Hope & Faith" in 2004. The two had three children together between 2012 and 2016, though an on-again, off-again relationship over the years made headlines that finally culminated in their separation and divorce in 2020.

Shortly after separating from Green, Fox entered into a relationship with musician Colson Baker, better known by his stage name: Machine Gun Kelly. The two met on the set of the 2021 thriller "Midnight in the Switchgrass," with Fox later telling GQ that "It was obvious from second one what it was going to be."

Fox later appeared in Machine Gun Kelly's music video for his song "Bloody Valentine," making their relationship public. The two became engaged in early 2022, and continue to make appearances together, although some comments to the media about their relationship status have raised eyebrows.

The 2020s have seen a cultural renaissance for Megan Fox

By the end of the 2010s, Megan Fox's career seemed to be waning. Following her 2017 departure from "New Girl," films like "Zeroville," "Rogue," and "Think Like a Dog" had come and gone with little to no fanfare. Fox could be seen hosting "Legends of the Lost with Megan Fox," a Travel Channel documentary series that focused on the mysteries behind ancient civilizations. Some argued that the series dangerously blurred the lines between serious archaeology and fictional entertainment.

With the arrival of the 2020s, however, Fox once again began to turn things around. The 2021 thriller "Till Death" cast Fox as a married woman, handcuffed to her husband's dead body. It resulted in perhaps the most acclaim Fox has ever received for a performance;  Dread Central called the film "funny in a grimly humorous way [as] Fox sells the twisted tone ably." Other reviews also singled out Fox's performance as committed, realistic, and magnetic, drawing comparisons to her work in "Jennifer's Body."

Following "Till Death," Fox and Machine Gun Kelly have collaborated on the indie films "Taurus" and "Good Mourning." In 2023, Fox was also featured on one of four covers of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

Fox has recently reflected on her public image

Although Megan Fox has always been open about taking advantage of her sex appeal, over the years the actress has become more cautious in regards to her public image. In 2012, she openly argued against being a sex symbol, telling Harper's Bazaar , "My biggest regret is that I've assisted the media in making me into a cartoon character. I don't regret what has happened to me, but I regret the way I have dealt with it."

Though she may have regrets, other aspects of her public image give Fox pride, such as her decision to come out as bisexual early on in her career. She's been particularly appreciative of fans who have cited films like "Jennifer's Body" as an inspiration for their own journeys towards coming out.

In 2023, Fox spoke to Vanity Fair about her lifelong struggles with body image, saying, "There's never a point in my life where I loved my body, never, ever." Some of these struggles, such as an eating disorder, began all the way back during Fox's childhood, and still remain in her current life.

If you need help with an eating disorder, or know someone who does, help is available. Visit the National Eating Disorders Association website or contact NEDA's Live Helpline at 1-800-931-2237. You can also receive 24/7 Crisis Support via text (send NEDA to 741-741).

The Expendables 4 is Fox's return to action films

Now a veteran of the entertainment industry, Megan Fox has experienced many different sides of Hollywood. From soap operas to sitcoms, and blockbusters to independent films, she has had both highs and lows in her career. Now, the actress is in familiar territory with "Expendables 4," starring Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, and other notables including everyone from 50 Cent to Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture.

Coming almost a decade after the last "Expendables" sequel, Fox joins the cast as Gina, a CIA operator and the former flame of Statham's character. Fox was eager to work opposite the veteran action stars as well as the prospect of doing her own stunts, which required a significant amount of rehearsal and training during pre-production.

Overall, Fox's career seems to once again be on the rise. As she has proven time and again, she's not someone to be counted out.

Brian Austin Green is a father of five.

He shares son Kassius Lijah, 21, with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil and sons Noah Shannon, 11, Bodhi Ransom, 10, and Journey River, 7, with ex-wife Megan Fox . In June 2022, the actor welcomed his fifth child, Zane Walker, with his now-fiancée, Sharna Burgess .

Green and Burgess discussed co-parenting a blended family on the  Quite Frankly  podcast in April 2023.

"It's so beautiful. First of all, they make it easy.  They're incredible kids ," the  Dancing with the Stars  pro said. "Brian and Megan did such an amazing job. Kass is also an amazing kid. There's been no resistance, I have a beautiful relationship with them."

In July 2023, Green recruited his kids to help him propose to Burgess .

"We head into our bedroom and I start to get these feelings," Burgess recalled on the couple's podcast,  Oldish . "The kids come in and Noah is holding Zane and Journey is holding this little red  Cartier box . They stand next to Bri and he says, 'Would you spend the rest of your life with us?' It was the most perfect, beautiful moment."

Here's everything to know about Brian Austin Green's five kids: Kassius, Noah, Bodhi, Journey and Zane.

Kassius Lijah Marcil-Green, 21

In March 2002, Green welcomed his first son, Kassius "Kash" Lijah Marcil-Green, with his Beverly Hills, 90210 costar Vanessa Marcil. Green and Marcil began dating in the 1990s and were engaged in 2001, but ended their relationship not long after Kash was born.

Kassius was the best man at Green's 2010 wedding to Fox. He was also reportedly the only guest at the wedding — unsurprising since Green had previously told PEOPLE that they were planning a small wedding. "Originally we were talking elopement and now we might have a few people there," Green said.

Over the years, Green and Marcil have taken their co-parenting drama public. In November 2018, Marcil alleged that Green and Fox had cut Kassius out of their lives completely. In a lengthy Instagram post, she explained that she spent several years fighting the two in court. "12 years ago I was served legal papers," she wrote. "And then spent 8 years+ defending myself and my son in custody court in response to his father & his stepmother trying to get full custody (that means I would have seen my son four days a month) and then asking me to pay them child support."

Marcil went on to claim that Kassius didn't have a bedroom in Green and Fox's home, and added, "He hasn't ever seen Megan again or met his youngest brother. He's not allowed to know where they live anymore. Isn't invited to see them on holidays. Not even Father's Day."

In February 2023, Marcil responded to a comment about Green on social media, claiming the exes "didn't & don't co-parent" and she "raised my son alone." The claims prompted Green to refute Marcil's "lies" on Instagram.

"I can't tell you all how frustrating it is to read continued lies from a 50+ year old woman on social media like she is still in high school," he wrote on his Instagram Story. "She has never in her life been someone to walk the walk. Talk is cheap. Megan and I bust our asses to give Kass a well rounded childhood since his mom was rarely there. I'm assuming that's why she posts so much of him now. When will she just GO AWAY."

Noah Shannon Green, 11

Green and Fox welcomed their first son together, Noah Shannon Green , on Sept. 27, 2012.

In November 2018, Fox surprised fans by posting a picture of all three of their kids in their Halloween costumes . Noah, then 6 years old, appeared to be dressed as a zombie cheerleader — similar to the character his mom played in Jennifer's Body .

In December 2020, Green spoke about the family's tough time with home-schooling during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that Noah found it particularly difficult, explaining, "We have a pod of six other kids, because our 8-year-old, he just wasn't into the remote learning at all. Sitting in front of a computer and doing that, that just wasn't his thing. ... I think some kids need the socialization. Like, they really need to be with other kids."

Noah is also "really into fashion" and has been wearing dresses since he was 2. "He designs, he draws outfits. He's very talented ," Fox told InStyle in 2021. A few years earlier, Green defended his son's fashion choices , saying, "I've heard from some people that they don't agree with him wearing dresses. To them I say, I don't care. He's 4 and if he wants to wear it then he wears it."

He continued, "It's his life, they're not my clothes. … I feel like at 4 at 5, that's a time when he should be having fun. He's not harming anyone wearing a dress. So if he wants to wear a dress, good on him."

Bodhi Ransom Green, 10

On Feb. 12, 2014, Green and Fox welcomed their second son together, Bodhi Ransom Green . Bodhi is just 16 months younger than brother Noah.

Ahead of Bodhi's arrival, Fox told PEOPLE that she was worried about how Noah would react to being a big brother . She explained that Noah is "sensitive" and added, "I think that he's going to be a nurturer. It's a lot to expect … I think he's going to be an amazing big brother with time."

Green and Fox haven't shared much about Bodhi with the public, but in October 2015, Fox posted a photo of her second son in a now-deleted Instagram. "Bodhi: Stunner. Clown. Unicorn," she wrote.

A year later, Fox told PEOPLE that she was limiting TV and technology for Bodhi and Noah. "It's actually really bad for their brain development, and I'm trying to breed, like, superheroes," Fox said. "I don't want them to get f----- up brains. So I just suck it up, and it's hard, and one of us is always doing something. We don't get a lot of rest time, but I know it's better for them."

Journey River Green, 7

On Aug. 4, 2016, Green and Fox welcomed their third child, Journey River Green . Fox had filed for divorce from Green one year earlier, but in July 2016 a family friend told PEOPLE that the two were very much back together . "Brian and Megan are living together in Malibu with their boys," the source said. "They have been getting along and seem very happy. They are just waiting for the baby to arrive."

In June 2016, Fox told Jimmy Kimmel that she could tell her then-unborn son was a " super genius " like Elon Musk , and even said that the family was moving because that's what Journey wanted. "This baby [wants] me to live somewhere else," she said. "So we're moving to a whole different place in Los Angeles because I feel like that's where this baby wants to be raised."

Though Green and Fox separated in March 2020, the former couple has since spoken about their healthy co-parenting relationship . According to Green, the exes "co-parent really well together." He added that they "don't fight over time with the kids" and "try and alternate holidays between Christmas Day, Christmas Eve."

Green continued, "I'm very aware of — and so is she — that our schedules are insane. So when we do get time, cherish it. It's an amazing thing and we support the other parent having time."

Zane Walker Green, 1

Green first met his now-fiancée, Sharna Burgess , in October 2020. Less than two years later, the couple announced that they were expecting a baby together. Their son, Zane Walker Green was born on June 28, 2022.

A few days after Zane's arrival, Burgess shared a photo of Zane sleeping on her chest. Green later said that Burgess was a natural at parenting. " Zane's amazing , Sharna's amazing," he explained. "It's been an amazing experience, it really has."

Brian told PEOPLE that his older sons were excited about their newest sibling. "They check on Sharna every day and they rub her belly and talk to the baby," he said. "They're counting down the days! [The baby] is definitely coming into a super warm household and family and he'll be surrounded by a lot of love. It's exciting."

“Are we really still out here saying STUPID, TRANSPARENT (jealousy) s–t about each other?” Marcil asked. “Tearing each other down? Calling each other whores????

“While you are out fighting other women, PUBLICLY tearing other women down and standing up for/dead beat men? Men are laughing at us and still ruling the world,” she continued. “They are having us do all of the heavy lifting around raising their kids AND They are Cheating on you literally or they are addicted to porn while NOT standing for you to have basic human equal rights.”

She urged women to “pull it together and stand with other women [as] … the minorities.”

Marcil highlighted comments dissing Fox, 37, for “jump[ing] from guy to guy” and having a “sad … joke” of a relationship with Kelly.

In her defense, Marcil wrote that “staying with one man forever who is many times NOT good for you is such an admirable accomplishment.”

The “Las Vegas” alum went on to write that she and Fox “share children who love each other.”

Megan Fox, Brian Austin Green and kids

Marcil welcomed son Kassius, now 22, in 2002 with Green, while Fox shares Noah, 11, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, 7, with the “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum.

Green, 50, is also the father of son Zane , 1, with fiancée Sharna Burgess .

Fox also got engaged after their 2020 split , but the “Transformers” star confirmed in March that she and Kelly have since called off their wedding .

Megan Fox

The “New Girl” alum told “Call Her Daddy” podcast listeners that the rocker, 34, was her “twin soul” she would “always [have] a tether to” at the time.

While their current relationship status remains unclear, the duo were photographed together at Kelly’s birthday party and spotted slow dancing at Stagecoach music festival last month.

The pair reportedly are living separately .

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly  are trying to make it work. Shortly after the on-and-off couple was spotted getting cozy at Stagecoach, a source tells ET that Fox and MGK are "taking things one day at a time with their relationship."

"They are continuing to go to therapy, be fully transparent with each other about their feelings, and have consistent communication," the source says. "They have dealt with some trust issues, but are both making a continual effort to stay committed to their mutual end goal of being together forever. They are also respecting each other's space when needed, which is key for them during this time."

It's not just themselves their relationship impacts, as both Fox and MGK are parents too. The actress shares three kids -- Noah, 11, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, 7 -- with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green , while the musician is dad to Casie, 14, from a previous relationship.

"Overall, they're doing their best to make things work and keeping their kids in mind as well," the source says. "They are trying to keep their relationship issues as private as possible and protect their children from any drama or outside noise."

The duo met in 2020 and got engaged two years later. Cheating rumors and therapy sessions followed, but a source told ET in August 2023 that things were "great" between the pair.

"They are fully back together and enjoying it," the source said. "They are talking about their future plans and about moving forward with their engagement and wedding planning."

More relationship challenges followed, but a source told ET in March that Fox and MGK "are forever connected and have the intention and desire to continue to move forward with their relationship and their commitment to each other."

"They are continuing to work on things without putting any pressure on themselves," the source added, though that changed the following month, according to another source .

"Megan and MGK's relationship is up and down. Right now, they are taking some space, but things could easily change," the second source said. "They are still together as a couple and trying to figure things out. MGK is very in love with Megan, so he does his best to keep her happy and lets her take the lead."

Even after that, though, Fox and MGK celebrated his birthday together and attended Stagecoach side-by-side.

Brian Austin Green’s Ex Vanessa Marcil Slams “Stupid” Criticism Aimed at Megan Fox

Brian austin green’s ex vannessa marcil showed her support for megan fox after an instagram troll criticized the jennifer’s body star and shared insight into their co-parenting dynamic..

Vanessa Marcil is a girl's girl through and through.

The former fiancée of Brian Austin Green came to the defense of his ex-wife Megan Fox after a critic called the Jennifer's Body alum "the furthest thing from who women should look up to" in the comment section of Vanessa's April 14 Instagram post paying tribute to her.

"Life is about the long game," Vanessa—who was in a relationship with Brian from 1999 to 2003 and shares 22-year-old son Kassius with him—wrote back, sharing screenshots in a May 5 Instagram post. "We are both human and so we are both flawed as are you. We are both women and neither of us asked to be looked up to. We are also strangers to you so you see us both through a lens."

And the General Hospital actress also reflected on her own relationship with Megan—who split from Brian in 2020 after 10 years of marriage and shares kids Noah , 11, Bodhi , 10, and Journey , 7 with him—and how they peacefully co-parent.

As she put it, "We do share children and our children love each other."

Alongside her screenshot, she also included a lengthy caption about supporting women.

"Female Tribe—Are we really still out here saying STUPID, TRANSPARENT (jealousy) s--t about each other?" Vanessa continued. "Tearing each other down? Calling each other wh--es????"

She finished her message by asking her followers to consider how they treat men versus women and what it may take to get to equality in the world.

Of course, Vanessa is practicing what she preaches. Case in point: her original April 14 post was in support of Megan's recent comments about how single ladies could enjoy their summers.

"Just learn a skill or develop a hobby," the Transformers  alum told E! News in the video . "And do not waste your energy on boys."

And it seems Vanessa isn't wasting any time on the haters, either.
