Stryper was awesome to see again. It was my fourth time seeing them and they did not let me down. Michael Sweet was on fire both with his vocals and the crowd. His brother Robert is a monster on the drums and a joy to watch. The "new" guy Perry Richardson is a perfect fit for this band with his outstanding bass playing and long locks of blonde hair. Sir Oz Fox was as always perfect in his guitar works and looked very happy to be playing. The whole band seemed to be happy to be there playing all their hits and new stuff. I'm so glad they played Sorry in the set. I thought the show was very successful.
Kyle Chirgwin, Cape Cod, MASS.--USA
Totally awesome, love these guys! They rocked 17 full songs without hardly a break.
All the great songs from the early albums (none from The Yellow and Black Attack) like To Hell With the Devil, Soldiers Under Command, and In God We Trust.
Oz Fox back with the band after being in the hospital. The band played great at The Music Box in San Diego. Inspiring and faithful to God and His word!

Stryper – 40th Anniversary Tour
Commemorating 40 years of recording and releasing music, Stryper continues to churn out rock-solid albums and pulsating live performances. The hardworking group shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Following on the heels of their successful studio project The Final Battle (Frontiers Music Srl), the definitive foursome released their first-ever acoustic album Acousticyzed on February 16, 2024. The double-disc set features an audio CD and DVD/Blu-ray video recorded and filmed at SpiritHouse Studios in western Massachusetts. The 11-track acoustic collection features stripped-down versions of Stryper’s classic songs – ranging from energized tracks “Loud & Clear” and “Soldiers Under Command” to power ballad “Honestly” – plus a never-before-released version of enduring hymn “Amazing Grace.” The video unveils an up-close look at band members performing the album live in the studio.
For a limited time this spring, “To Hell with the Amps: The Unplugged Tour” will feature Stryper playing the entirety of the acoustic project during each performance.
“We’re excited to show people a totally different translation of these songs,” says lead vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter Michael Sweet. “Most of the acoustic shows will be set in smaller, more intimate venues, and the set is naturally more toned down. It will feel like a family affair, like everyone is sitting in our living room listening to us play.” Sweet adds that the band will follow the acoustic stints with a full-on 40th anniversary tour kicking off September 13, 2024. “The anniversary tour will feature songs ranging across our entire discography,” he reveals. “We’ll perform a set consisting of our classic songs, then play a second set containing more recent material.” Sweet further shares that the band’s live shows will feature everything from heightened production to variations in wardrobe. “We will be changing outfits from a classic look to a modern look, with production to match,” Sweet says. “It will definitely be unprecedented because it’s important to come up with a unique way for fans to celebrate this milestone anniversary with us.”
In addition, the band plans to offer an exclusive pre-show VIP experience for its loyal devotees. A 45-minute encounter with Stryper will include a private screening of a short film featuring archival footage and photos and a brief Q&A session with the bandmates. As for future endeavors, the band just wrapped recording another full-length studio album Sweet describes as “all killer and no filler.” The anticipated release date is fall 2024. “We’re hoping it will continue the trend of our music getting better with each release,” Sweet says. “It’s loaded with high-quality tunes and great energy.”
Stryper also has made solid progress on a much-anticipated Kickstarter-fueled documentary film. More than 1,700 backers helped the band far exceed its original funding goal, earning a “Projects We Love” tag on the popular crowdfunding platform. “We found a brilliant director, Chris Atkins, and it’s being filmed now,” says Sweet, adding that footage will be captured throughout the rest of this year. “We’re excited to see it’s finally happening.”
When it comes to groundbreaking bands in the Christian hard-rock genre, Stryper is renowned for its distinctive brand of “heavenly metal,” extraordinary crossover success and venerable endurance. The group ascended to prominence in the 1980s with Billboard Top 40 hits like “Calling on You,” “Honestly” and “Always There for You.”
Stryper’s career album sales exceed 10 million worldwide, including 1986’s multiplatinum release To Hell with the Devil. The band also made history when it notched two songs simultaneously in MTV’s Top 10 with videos “Free” and “Honestly.”
Today, some 40 years after emerging from the southern California nightclub scene, the foursome continues to record, tour and perform for devoted fans around the globe. Comprising three original members including brothers Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet (drums) and Oz Fox (guitar) plus longtime bandmate and veteran bassist Perry Richardson, the group finds itself continuing to create their finest, most powerful music yet.

STRYPER Announces May 2022 U.S. Tour
Rockers STRYPER will embark on a U.S. tour in May 2022. The trek will include a stop at the M3 Rock Festival at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, where they will be joined by SKID ROW and TESLA , among many others.
“We are so excited about touring again,” said STRYPER frontman Michael Sweet . “We’ll be touring heavily in 2022 and hope to see you all. Here’s our first round of tour dates. More coming soon but if you live near one of these cities, grab tickets now. Love you all and can’t wait to see you in person next year.”
STRYPER tour dates:
May 05 – Derry, NH – Tupelo Music Hall May 07 – Uncasville, CT – Mohegan Sun Casino May 08 – Columbia, MD – M3 Rock Festival May 10 – Vineland, NJ – Landis Theater May 12 – Atlanta, GA – Masquerade May 13 – Charlotte, NC – Amos Southend Music Hall May 17 – Indianapolis, IN – The Vogue May 19 – Saint Peters, MO – Diamond Music Hall May 21 – Destin, FL – Lucille’s Music Hall May 27 – Fort Myers, FL – The Ranch Concert Hall & Saloon May 28 – Orlando, FL – House of Blues
After being on a hiatus for much of the ’90s, STRYPER returned stronger than ever in the early 21st century. Musically, the band has progressed and grown their fan base steadily and continuously, being one of the few “classic” metal bands of the ’80s that managed to keep themselves front and center thanks to the consistency of their musical output.
Michael is joined in STRYPER by his brother Robert Sweet (drums), Oz Fox (guitars) and Perry Richardson (bass).
Last March, STRYPER and Frontiers Music Srl announced that they have extended their working relationship for the release of more new studio albums together. STRYPER and Frontiers originally joined forces in 2013 for the release of “Second Coming” , an album comprised of new recordings of 14 songs from the band’s early years, as well as two brand new songs. What followed has been a string of critically and commercially successful studio albums, including “No More Hell To Pay” (2013), “Fallen” (2015), “God Damn Evil” (2018) and “Even The Devil Believes” (2020). Additionally, a live album and long-form video, “Live At The Whisky” (2014) was made available. Every one of the albums released on Frontiers in the past eight years has successfully charted on the Billboard 200 chart and topped the Hot 100, Rock, Hard Rock, Current and Christian Music album charts.

STRYPER's Upcoming Album Will Be 'Heavy' And 'Very Melodic' With 'Sing-Along' Choruses
STRYPER recently entered the studio to begin recording the follow-up to 2022's "The Final Battle" album.
Earlier today, STRYPER frontman Michael Sweet , who is responsible for almost all of the songwriting in the band, took to his social media to write: "I've completed the lead vocals and now I'll spend the next few days writing and arranging my guitar solos. Then we'll begin final mixing and mastering will be completed by 4/20.
"I must admit that I was a little nervous about my voice but in all sincerity, it seems fine to me. I didn't have any trouble tracking vocals and if anything, it seemed a little easier this time around.
"I have to say that this album has a very special signature. It has a heaviness yet at the same time, a very melodic approach and a bit more of a 'sing-along' style when it comes to the choruses. I'm really pleased with the results and I truly believe it will be at the top of everyone's 'best of' list. There are some stand out tracks to my ears already but I won't go into details quite yet. Bottom line, a KILLER new STRYPER album is coming!"
Last September, Michael said that he wanted "to branch out a bit" on the next STRYPER album "and try some new things and I also want to get back to some 'pop metal' on a few tracks as well."
In December, Sweet underwent partial thyroidectomy, the surgery to remove part of his thyroid gland. It is the most common surgery for thyroid cancer.
The follow-up to 2020's "Even The Devil Believes" , "The Final Battle" was produced by Sweet and was once again recorded at SpiritHouse Recording Studios in Northampton, Massachusetts.
Formed 41 years ago, STRYPER 's name comes from Isaiah 53:5, which states: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
STRYPER 's albums include "To Hell With The Devil" , "Second Coming" , "No More Hell To Pay" , "Fallen" , "God Damn Evil" and the aforementioned "Even The Devil Believes" and "The Final Battle" .
Michael is joined in STRYPER by his brother Robert Sweet (drums), Oz Fox (guitar) and Perry Richardson (bass).
STRYPER 's "To Hell With The Amps: The Unplugged Tour" will kick off in late May. For the first time ever, the Christian rockers will stage a full tour where they will perform their hits and fan favorites acoustically.
