The upcoming tour will consist of 18 U.S. dates, beginning with the band’s SOLD-OUT show at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on July 15

One of the most critical urban Mexican acts of the moment, Fuerza Regida, one of the most popular critically-acclaimed Mexican artists, today announced his highly-anticipated  “Otra Peda Tour”  which will bring the urban Mexican star to new cities and iconic venues. 

Fuerza Regida and Live Nation are continuing their tour production partnership, bringing a new 18-city “Otra Peda Tour” that kicks off on July 15th at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, making stops across the U.S. in San Jose, CA, Fresno, CA, Hidalgo, TX, and more before wrapping up in Anaheim, CA, at Honda Center on November 25th.

Kicking off 2023 with its first #1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, “Bebe Dame” alongside Grupo Frontera, the month of March quickly proved to be one of the most significant months in Fuerza Regida’s already outstanding career. Most notably, the band accomplished an impressive feat, selling out the inaugural date of the “Otra Peda Tour” at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles (previously known as Banc of California Stadium), which is unquestionably a career-defining moment for the group, as it marks the first time that Fuerza Regida will perform live in a stadium. 

In addition to the news that it sold out its first stadium show, the band also released 10 new music videos in March, including the hits “Dijeron Que No La Iba a Lograr” and “Que Se Te Quito”. This is not a drill: Fuerza Regida is going on tour! On April 18, the regional Mexican music group announced their upcoming 18-city “Otra Peda Tour,” and fans can’t wait to see them perform live.

“OTRA PEDA TOUR 2023 🇺🇸🍻 TICKETS ON SALE 4/20,” the band announced on their Instagram.

The freshly unveiled “Otra Peda Tour” will kick off at the sold-out BMO Stadium show in Los Angeles, CA, on July 15. It will span major cities like San Jose, Houston, El Paso, Atlanta, Chicago, and Portland. The tour will also make its way to Phoenix, Las Vegas, Dallas, and Palm Desert before wrapping up at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA, on Nov. 25.

Fans are thrilled about the upcoming tour news. A Twitter user wrote: “manifesting I get floor seats for fuerza regida on Thursday😤😤😤😤.” Another Twitter user echoed the same feeling: “Fuerza regida this year is a must ‼️” Moreover, to help promote the tour, the group also threw a yacht party with social media influencers .

It goes without saying that 2023 has already been a huge year for Fuerza Regida. Last Fri. (April 14), the band’s frontman Jesús “JOP” Ortiz Paz joined Becky G on her Coachella performance . The two sang their recent collaboration “Te Quiero Besar.” After the duo’s moment, Ortiz Paz also sang the band’s track “Bebe Dame,” one of their current hits with Grupo Frontera.

Earlier this year, when they announced their initial BMO Stadium date (July 15), the Mexican-American group also received their own L.A. date. “Some young kids from the hood, having their own day–their own holiday in L.A. We’re happy,” Ortiz Paz told Remezcla at the time. “[And] don’t miss out July 15. We’re going to sell out this stadium!” Which we know now that they did.

La agrupación, una de las bandas de música mexicana urbana más importantes del momento, en alianza con Live Nation producen la gira “Otra Peda Tour” que visitarán después de Los Ángeles, ciudades como San José, Fresno, Hidalgo y terminando en el Honda Center de Anaheim, California, el 25 de noviembre.

“Fuerza Regida ha sido un gran ejemplo del poder de este nuevo movimiento a nivel mundial”, dijo Jorge García, promotor de giras globales de Live Nation.

“Para Live Nation, como un socio de confianza, ha sido un honor ver su rápido crecimiento de espectáculos en arenas a conciertos en estadios”, subrayó.

Fuerza Regida comenzó el 2023 con su primer #1 en la lista Hot Latin Songs de Billboard, el sencillo “Bebe Dame” junto a Grupo Frontera.

En marzo, uno de los meses más significativos en su carrera musical, logró una hazaña con el Sold Out para la fecha inaugural de “Otra Peda Tour” en el BMO Stadium de Los Ángeles (anteriormente conocido como Banc of California Stadium).  Este hecho marca la primera vez que Fuerza Regida se presentará en vivo en un estadio.

After a sold-out performance at the Save Mart Center last year Fuerza Regida announced today that they will be returning to the arena on August 5th as part of their Otra Peda Tour.  Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase on Ticketmaster.com or at the Save Mart Center box office.  Box office hours are Monday - Friday noon - 5 p.m.

The California group has received several nominations for the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards including Song of the Year for “Bébé dame”, a collaboration with Grupo Frontera , Best Duo or Group – Regional Mexican and Best Album-Regional Mexican for Del Barrio Hasta Aquí, Vol. 2

‘For a Fuerza Regida Show, You Gotta Get F—ed Up!’: Band Brings Otra Peda Tour to NJ

Amidst tequila chugs, slinging bras (“whoever it was, thank you, baby girl”), and even a bloody brawl among a couple of seemingly-intoxicated audience members, Fuerza Regida invigorated Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., for over two hours on Friday night (Sep. 22).

The band of five played at the 16,700 capacity venue as part of the U.S. leg of their “Otra Peda” tour, which launched July 7 at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, followed by a dozen sold-out shows, according to the band’s Instagram, including the iconic BMO Stadium in Los Angeles. The group’s upcoming dates include Chicago (Sep. 23), Nashville (Sep. 28), Las Vegas (Oct. 21) and Anaheim, Calif. (Nov. 25). 

Along the way, Fuerza has had a slew of Billboard -charting singles, police run-ins , and a Shakira collab , all while these bad boys of música mexicana keep bringing in the heat with thrilling unpredictability. 

Born and raised in San Bernardino, Calif., the members of Fuerza Regida — comprising frontman and lead songwriter Jesús Ortiz Paz (known as JOP), lead guitarist Samuel Jaimez, second guitarist Khrystian Ramos, tuba player José García and tololoche player Moisés López — represented West Coast vibes for a lit East Coast audience. 

They have become one of the main drivers of a homegrown music that celebrates Northern Mexican roots with a trap bravado, and this was fully evinced during their high energy show on Friday night. The set included a 16-member brass ensemble, plenty of tequila shots, and even a porta-potty onstage (because, naturally). 

Here are five highlights from Fuerza Regida’s Otra Peda Tour in Newark, N.J. 

Homage to Hip-Hop High Fashion

JOP arrived looking like a boss with an early ‘90s-era vintage Versace jumpsuit, à la Biggie Smalls driving a yacht in the “Hypnotize” video or Tupac in several high-profile appearances. A humble flex from his rags-to-riches trajectory. (JOP used to be a barber and showed a clip at the beginning of the show about those days to display his skyward ascent.) His crew, including the brass ensemble that backed them up, all sported white Nike Air Force 1 low tops, looking G’d up. These were fashionable choices that pay homage to hip-hop life, while paving the way for a new kind of image within música mexicana. 

Fan Engagement

JOP took the time to connect with fans, and genuinely thanked them for attending the show. He read several signs and even stopped a song midway to read one that said, “I changed my way to come see you!” “For real?” the frontman replied before asking a cameraman to show the sign to audience members. Amid slinging bras, there was another moment where he felt a boost of ego and said, “I wanna take a girl for myself from the East Coast to the West Coast.” “This princess asks for a kiss,” read another sign. As the group performed their two hour-plus setlist — including many hits (“Bebe Dame,” “Ch y la Pizza,” “Sabor Fresa,” and the list goes on) — the audience belted every single word, very engaged with the high-energy performance. Many Latin countries got their shout-out too, as the band members picked up various flags and waved them from the stage.

A Bloody Brawl!

While performing “TQM,” JOP stopped the song and yelled, “Yo, yo yo!” seemingly shocked. Then a crew of security guards rush towards the crowd, facing the front center stage. “What’s going on over here? They’re fighting?” he says, “Imma get the f— out of here if you guys keep on fighting.” The suspense thickened, like a cliffhanger from a reality TV show. Then from the mob of angry folks arose a man with a bloody face. “You guys need to chill, no fighting!” “¡Fuera, fuera, fuera!” the crowd yelled, “¡a la verga!,” another concert-goer said. “¡Culero, culero, culero!” the crowd roared in unison, and the security guard escorted them out. “Make some muthaf—ing noise! You know we get crazy in this b—-!” JOP wailed, alleviating the tension, before continuing to belt out the the verses to the song, ​​”Ya ando enfiestado y parece un festín…” “For a Fuerza Regida show, you gotta get f—ed up!” he added moments later. The frontman handled the tumultuous scene the best way possible, and that deserves an applause.

New York Drill Makes a Presence

Back in the ‘90s, West Coast rap and narcocorridos, like those of Chalino Sanches, drew many comparison for its excess and criminal lifestyle. In a similar spirit, drill music draws some connections, thematically, from this new rising música mexicana movement, specifically, from corridos bélicos, the newest subgenre. Being the brash and sometimes controversial frontman that he is — but while also paying respect to East Cast music — JOP honored Pop Smoke with “Dior,” even busting out some drillish kind of dance moves, like also seen in the video for “Dame Bebe.” 

Their 16-Member Brass Ensemble

In the spirit of true banda Sinaloense music, Fuerza Regida invited a 16-member brass ensemble to back up their music, which further enlivened the scene with every blaring horn. The presence of live brass not only added a layer of authenticity to the traditional-rooted genre but also brought an undeniable cool factor to the stage, plus their sneakers (first highlight mentioned above). The sight of over a dozen brass players, synchronized in harmony, visually enriched the stage, capturing the audience’s attention and adding a touch of spectacle to the performance.

Christian Nodal, among the most important artists in the regional Mexican music scene, will bring his long-awaited Pal Cora tour 2024 to Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Sept. 29, 2024.

This tour announcement follows a milestone for Nodal, his first European tour, which was the first solo tour by any regional Mexican artist to play large European venues.

As a producer, he’s responsible for classic albums by the New York Dolls, Badfinger, Patti Smith, Cheap Trick, XTC, the Tubes and Meat Loaf, among others.

His “Something/Anything?” album made the Top 200 on Rolling Stone’s 500-greatest-albums-ever list. The left turn that followed that perfect pop masterpiece, “A Wizard, A True Star,” was panned by critics at the time but has inspired reams of raving re-evaluation through the year, the Guardian hailing it as “harmonically richer and more ambitiously deranged than ‘The White Album.’"

His work with Utopia has been embraced by prog-rock fans while power-pop enthusiasts tend to worship the catchier side of his career, including his work with the Nazz. But to the general public, he’s still pretty much defined by five hit singles: “We Gotta Get You a Woman,” “I Saw the Light,” “Hello It’s Me,” “Can We Still Be Friends” and “Bang the Drum All Day.”

Totally Tubular Festival at Arizona Financial Theatre

The Totally Tubular Festival is bringing Thomas Dolby, the Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, Modern English, Men Without Hats, the Romantics, Bow Wow Wow and the Plimsouls to Arizona Financial Theatre in downtown Phoenix on Wednesday, July 3.

The festival features artists that captured the pop culture zeitgeist in the early to mid-1980s thanks mainly to the high rotation of their music videos on MTV.

A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will go to food banks locally in each market.

Joe Jackson at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix

Joe Jackson is bringing the Two Rounds of Racket Tour to the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix on Monday, June 24, 2024.

The show will be in two parts: a solo set by Jackson performing his original material and a set based on the album ‘What A Racket!,’ the first performance in more than 100 years of the songs of forgotten English Music Hall genius Max Champion, with Jackson fronting a nine-piece band.

Champion was born in 1882 in London's East End. His career was cut short by the First World War, and his songs faded into obscurity until 2014, when his sheet music started to surface: first in Malta, then in England, and, intriguingly, in Belgium, where Champion probably met his end in the trenches.

By 2019, enough songs had been recovered for Jackson to resurrect them with a 12-piece orchestra.

Sammy Hagar bringing Van Halen's Michael Anthony to Phoenix

Sammy Hagar has announced a Phoenix date on the long-awaited the Best of All Worlds 2024 tour with longtime bandmates Michael Anthony and Jason Bonham joined by guitar hero Joe Satriani.

Hagar and Anthony, of course, were also bandmates in Van Halen.

The tour will make its way to Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, with special guests Loverboy.

Peter Hook & the Light at the Van Buren in Phoenix

Peter Hook & The Light will perform the “Substance” albums by Joy Division and New Order in full at the Van Buren in Phoenix on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024.

Hook played bass for both bands and first revisited the seminal Joy Division album “Unknown Pleasures” in 2010 for a charity concert, following through each year by revisiting subsequent albums from the repertoire of both bands at the helm of his own solo project.

Peter Hook & The Light have moved through each of those albums, culminating in the Factory Records “Substance” compilations.

He recently celebrated more than four decades of the continuing influence of Joy Division and lead singer Ian Curtis with the “Joy Division: A Celebration” concerts, where both of the band’s albums were played in full.
