5 Seconds of Summer on Tour

5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is the only band (not vocal group) in chart history to see its first three full-length studio albums enter the Billboard 200 at No. 1. Across their catalog, 5SOS has sold more than eight million equivalent album units and sold over two million concert tickets worldwide, while cumulative streams of their songs now surpass seven billion.

The band – comprising Luke Hemmings (vocals/guitar), Michael Clifford (vocals/guitar), Calum Hood (vocals/bass) and Ashton Irwin (vocals/drums) – has been recognized with an array of prestigious accolades including an American Music Award, a People's Choice Award, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, eight MTV European Music Awards, five ARIA Awards, two APRA and two MTV Video Music Awards.

They infiltrated airwaves around the world with their hot pop hit "She Looks So Perfect". With their driving pop-rock confections and loveable personalities, 5SOS have fans singing along with one exciting performance after another. Whether they're shredding out fan favorites like "Don't Stop" or jumping around the stage, 5 Seconds of Summer puts on a show that fans of driving guitars, anthemic pop, and incredible showmanship won't want to miss.

5 Seconds of Summer Live in Concert

Hailing from Down Under, the members of 5 Seconds of Summer met when they were attending school at Norwest Christian College, and they soon started posting cover songs on YouTube. After the release of their 2012 EP Unplugged, 5SOS began to generate significant buzz with their infectious pop-rock and even attracted attention from members of One Direction. The group headed out on a world tour opening for Hot Chelle Rae in support of the record and continued to pen new material while on the road. The four-piece was asked to tour alongside One Direction in 2013 and subsequently earned international superstar status with hundreds of thousands of new fans. With their No. 1 smash hit "She Looks So Perfect", a 2014 chart-topping EP of the same name, and sold-out shows around the world, 5 Seconds of Summer are well on their way to the top.

Fans Who Bought Tickets Say

"5 Seconds of Summer is an incredibly talented band who deserve to be extremely successful. Their show is upbeat, relaxed, and incredibly fun. It is enjoyable for everyone who attends, whether you're there with friends or by yourself."

"5SOS is the best band in the world! They are even better live than on their studio recordings!! This was the best show I've ever been to in my life! They were absolutely incredible!"

A dream come true.

2023 was a concert year for me, I was blessed to get to experience so much live music. Seeing 5 Seconds of Summer live has always been a dream for me, a bucket list experience and they have never disappointed me and they definitely didn’t at this show. I was lucky enough to attend the Era tour and I had 10x more fun at the 5 Seconds Of Summer Show then I did there. My husband is a new fan and he had just as much fun as I did! I give them 20/5 stars, and I can’t wait for them to come to the U.S again soon. I don’t plan on missing any U.S shows anytime soon.

Electric!!!

Seeing 5 Seconds of Summer live is always an amazing experience! The energy they bring to each and every show speaks for itself, alongside some incredible sounding music. I will see them every tour that they go on!!

Best concert experience

I’ve been to every one of their tours but the 5sos show was insanely good. The albums just keep getting better along with their shows. The environment is filled with fun and joy. 12 years later and I still get just as excited to see them live! Can’t wait for their next tour and album 🤍

EVERYTHING I HOPED

the boys were absolutely amazing, it was my first time seeing them and it was everything i’d hoped considering i’d been a fan since 2014. everything down to the opener was absolutely fantastic. DEF GO SEE THEM NEXT TOUR🩷🖤

5SOS SHOW 🩷

I’ve been a fan of theirs band since the very beginning when they were still kids and I was basically a child! This was my very first time seeing them and can honestly say this was the best night of my life!!! Although that did end quickly because before I even made it out of the pit my younger sister sitting on the lower bowl had a seizure and had to be taken to the hospital! 🏥 she’s ok now! But huge turn of events after an amazing concert! 10/10 would recommend!!! Best night of my life 🩷🩷🩷

1st time in forever

my 1st time of seeing 5sos and my sister finally took me its like her 20th time seeing them i was crying when i saw them my legs were weak for the entire time but i didn't notice because i was enjoying and loving every minute of there concert i been a fan since 2014 and my sister been a fan longer than that i was really happy and it made my day so much better. i love you 5SOS!!

5sos-The Woodlands

7th time seeing 5sos and it was amazing as usual. It makes me happy to see how far they’ve come since I first saw them as an opening act. Hearing Caramel live for the first time was the best thing ever.

5sos was great, the rest not so much

5 Seconds of Summer was great themselves; once they were actually out performing. Wasted $400 on a VIP Friends of Friends Soundcheck Package and the only "perks"we got above any other ticket type was some finger food and a signed poster. We did not get special access to before event merch shopping which was promised, did not get to be first in getting up to the stage before others. It was a waste of money as the people who paid around $100 got the same thing. Then we stood for hours before the opener came on, then stood for another hour while the stage got set up. Very long day and lots of money for less than 2 hours of seeing them perform.

9/13/23 & 9/14/23

these two shows were the first time i’ve seen 5sos in nearly 10 years and it was better than i could’ve EVER imagined. they’re such incredible performers and never fail to provide the best shows for their fans and even people who aren’t. i had the privilege of dragging along some friends & family with me who don’t know much about them, but they had the BEST time and only had the most positive things to say. 5SOS brings a new definition to what incredible live music is and constantly raises the bar with each tour. it’s safe to say that i’ll be going to all of their future tours now, giving them all my love and support for as long as i can ♥️ go see them, you WON’T regret it!!!

raleigh - 9/4/23

this was my second time seeing 5sos live, over eight years apart! they have grown so much as performers and know exactly how to work a crowd. not to mention how fun the show was with the skits and random song dice! genuinely such a good show, they've come so far and i'm so proud of them.

Background and Release [ ]

On "No Shame", 5SOS sings about infatuation the current society has molded to seek fame and attention on the internet, and real life. The song is their first single of 2020, and acts as the third single for the band’s upcoming album, CALM , announced on the same day of the track’s release.

The track was teased in the background of promotional material for the album, each member posting a video on social media ending with their first initial, forming the album’s name. The band also named their 2020 world tour after the song. A No Shame Live From the Vault version was added to the deluxe album later.

Angel, with the gun in your hand Pointin' my direction, givin' me affection Love is fatal, won't you give it a chance? Center of attention, don't you ask me any questions Go on and light me like a cigarette Even if it might be somethin' you'll regret You got me now, now, now Swallow me down, down, down, down I only light up when cameras are flashin' Never enough and no satisfaction Got no shame I love the way you're screaming my name Diggin' my grave to get a reaction Changin' my face and callin' it fashion Got no shame I love the way you're screaming my name Lay me in the palm of your hand I'll give you my permission, you'll always be forgiven Go on, replace me When you're cravin' somethin' sweeter than the words I left in your mouth Go on and spit me out I only light up when cameras are flashin' Never enough and no satisfaction Got no shame I love the way you're screaming my name Diggin' my grave to get a reaction Changin' my face and callin' it fashion Got no shame I love the way you're screaming my name I love the way you're screaming my name I love the way you're screaming my name Go on and light me like a cigarette Even if it might be somethin' you'll regret You got me now, now, now Swallow me down, down, down, down I only light up when cameras are flashin' Never enough and no satisfaction Got no shame I love the way you're screaming my name Diggin' my grave to get a reaction Changin' my face and callin' it fashion Got no shame I love the way you're screaming my name I love the way you're screaming my name I love the way you're screaming my name

5 Seconds of Summer Feel ‘No Shame’ in New Video

By Claire Shaffer

Claire Shaffer

Following the release of their new single “No Shame” this week, 5 Seconds of Summer have released a visual that, well, has no shame. Directed by Hannah Lux Davis and reminiscent of Nineties music videos like Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun,” the “No Shame” clip features all kinds of public displays of shamelessness, from drinking out of a milk carton to taking selfies in front of a car accident.

“It was so much fun collaborating with the guys on this video,” Davis says. “They fearlessly dove into each scene and trusted me to deliver a visual with this much punch. It’s something different for all of us and I’m excited with how it turned out.”

“For a band to make it to four albums is no small feat in itself,” lead vocalist Luke Hemmings said of the record, “but to be reinventing and constantly pushing our songwriting and to come out with music that we’ve never been more proud of makes me so happy to be in 5 Seconds of Summer.”

The band will kick off the North American leg of their No Shame Tour on August 19th at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium, running through September 26th with a final stop at the Concord Pavilion in Concord, CA. Physical copies of Calm  will be bundled together with ticket sales.

Who are 5 seconds of summer.

Australian pop/rock outfit 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) formed in 2011, consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin. The band first rose to fame as YouTube celebrities, sharing videos of themselves covering songs from a variety of artists from 2011 to 2012. They achieved international fame following a tour with mega-famous boy band One Direction on their Take Me Home Tour in 2013. 5 Seconds of Summer have since released a total of three full-length albums, including their self-titled debut, Sounds Good Feels Good , and Youngblood , each of which have debuted at the top of the charts. The band became the first Australian act in the US to achieve three chart-topping albums on the Billboard 200. According to 5SOS, they have sold more than eight million albums and two million concert tickets worldwide.

2024 NBA playoffs: Ranking every first-round series with Knicks vs. 76ers instant classic at No. 1

All eight first-round series are in the books, how did they stack up.

knicks-76ers-usatsi.png

The first round of the NBA playoffs is in the books, and while many of the series fell victim to the injury bug, we still got some compelling games around the league. From the Knicks and 76ers duking it out in each of their six games, Jamal Murray game-winners, Kyrie Irving's circus shots, Anthony Edwards having his "I've arrived" moment against his favorite player ever, it's safe to say we've been spoiled so far in the postseason.

And even though the second round is well underway, before we firmly put the first round in our rearview mirror it makes sense to rank all eight series we saw. From the snoozefests to the instant classics, here's how all eight first round series rank.

8. Thunder vs. Pelicans

There's not much exciting about a sweep, so there's no surprise that this series finds itself at the bottom of this list. It's a shame too because this had the makings of being an entertaining matchup, but with Zion Williamson  sidelined because of a hamstring injury, it zapped a lot of the interest here. Game 1's 94-92 score suggested that maybe this would be a competitive series, but the Thunder then went on to win the next three games by an average of 20.3 points, leaving no doubt that they were the superior team.

7. Timberwolves vs. Suns

Here's another matchup that had the promise of being one of the better ones of the first round. But when you throw millions and millions of dollars to your top three players and fail to fill out the rest of the roster with adequate role players, you're setting yourself up to get swept, which is exactly what happened to the Suns . It's not everyday that a series featuring Kevin Durant and Devin Booker fails to deliver from a competitive and entertainment standpoint, but this was just as much about how dominant the Timberwolves are as it was about how poorly built the Suns were this season. Anthony Edwards was the best player on the court every game ... and it wasn't close. That was the bright spot of this series, but beyond that it felt like one big shrug.

6. Celtics vs. Heat

Without Jimmy Butler the Heat never really had a chance to beat the top-seeded Celtics , and as much as Bam Adebayo tried to shoulder the offensive workload, this series showed Miami's glaring need to improve the roster around him and Butler for next season. Like my colleague Sam Quinn wrote earlier , it's hard not to wonder how Damian Lillard would've changed the Heat's season had they traded for him last summer. Lillard alone wouldn't have led the Heat to topple the Celtics, but they certainly could've used his services during the regular season to avoid a lopsided matchup like that. Instead, we got a bland rematch of last season's Eastern Conference Finals, where Boston showed in four out of five games why they finished at the top of the East with incredible ease.

5. Nuggets vs. Lakers

The Lakers talked so much about how they were waiting for a rematch with the Nuggets after losing to them in the Western Conference finals a season ago. That talking wasn't backed up by much action, even if they did manage to avoid a sweep. There was some excitement as the Lakers led at halftime in all five games, suggesting they could really test the Nuggets. But once the third quarter started in four out of the five games, it was evident L.A. was just outmatched. The star power is what really drove this series up the rankings, because we may only have a couple more years of LeBron James , who turned in a supremely efficient performance in all five games. But this matchup showed just how much work the Lakers have to do in the offseason to remain competitive in LeBron's twilight years.

4. Pacers vs. Bucks

Another matchup impacted by injuries, but even with no Giannis Antetokounmpo and only four games with Lillard, Milwaukee really did its best even in the massive talent disadvantage. Game 5 was a truly electrifying performance from the Bucks, playing without two stars and extending their season by one more game as Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis turned in All-Star-like performances to blow out Indiana. There was also the opening game of this series, where Lillard's 35 points lifted Milwaukee to a win, showing exactly why the Bucks traded for him. But Indiana's depth, and standout performances from Pascal Siakam and Myles Turner over the course of the series were just too much for a shorthanded Milwaukee team.

3. Cavaliers vs. Magic

Before the playoffs started this was probably at the bottom of everyone's list, and understandably so. If you're a casual basketball fan there isn't a ton appealing about this matchup, it's two defensive-minded teams with middling or bottom-tiered offenses. And while Donovan Mitchell is the marquee star in this matchup, compared to the other stars in the postseason he takes a back seat. But this was the only first-round series that went seven games, and even if you feel like it wasn't entertaining, what Paolo Banchero and the Magic did in the first round showed that this young team is ready to be a playoff contender for the long haul. And the fact that the Cavaliers went up 2-0 in the series, only for the Magic to answer back in the next two games to even it up and then the back-and-forth nature to force a Game 7 was everything you want out of a playoff series.

2. Mavericks vs. Clippers

Third time ended up being the charm for Luka Doncic and the Mavericks after twice falling to the Clippers in the first round of the playoffs in 2020 and 2021. All it took was Kawhi Leonard being out for four of the six games, and Kyrie Irving playing like the best player on the Mavericks. Injuries aside though, the shotmaking in this series alone was reason enough to watch. Irving turned in a 40-point performance, James Harden turned back the clock in Game 4, and in the same game the Mavericks almost overcame a massive 31-point deficit to win. It would've been a far better matchup if both sides were fully healthy, but even with the injuries it still managed to be the second-most entertaining matchup in the first round.

1. Knicks vs. 76ers

This was the best series and it wasn't even close. I only wish it went seven games for it to be an all-time classic, but I'll settle for the six games in which every game was a knock-down, drag-out fight. It was like watching two prize fighters in their prime, and if you need any more convincing of how close this matchup was throughout, the fact that the Knicks outscored the Sixers 650-649 in the series is all you need to look at.

Jalen Brunson became a bonafide star over the last four games of this series, averaging a ridiculous 41.8 points on 49.2% shooting from the floor. He practically beat the Sixers by himself in at least two of those games, and while Philadelphia didn't win the series both Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey had their shining moments. Maxey's 46-point barn burner in Game 5 to avoid elimination will forever be in his career highlight reel, as he rattled off nine points in the final 50 seconds of regulation to force overtime. And Embiid's 50-piece stunner in Game 3 to avoid going down 3-0 on a bad knee highlighted how dominant he can be even if he's not fully healthy. This matchup ignited a rivalry between these two teams even further, especially as Knicks fans infiltrated the Wells Fargo Center to flex just how far Knicks fandom can reach. It was the best first-round series by a wide margin, and we can only hope the next couple rounds deliver more classics like this one.
