Safari address bar keeps clearing anything I type. ... I solved the problem by deleting the my user account and replace another new user account through my gf admin account. Now the safari url bar is working properly, not sure if I messed up the setting in my previous user account. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion!

I had the same problem with Safari over the past several months. The toolbar (which includes address bar, google search, buttons, etc) was hidden almost every time I relaunched Safari even though the toolbar is visible before quitting (I manually select show toolbar in the View menu). I tried resetting the default in the customize toolbar option.

It looks like the address bar refreshing problem is only when the Safari is in fullscreen mode. Seems if you bring down the menu temporarily, it even refreshes the address properly sometimes. BUT, if you just turn off full screen mode, the address updates properly all the time -- or so it seems so far.
