Top 5 airlines flying to India
Manchester airport facilities for special assistance was nothing short of disgraceful. Not an Emirates issue but they should be made aware.
The food was terrible The flight attendance was sloppy and late with everything!! Never again
There were issues with the movies not playing correctly, it would have been nice if we could have been offered a code to use the Wi-Fi.
They cancelled my flight day before without any support to rebook.
crew as a whole is pretty mediocre. dont seem to care much for passengers. Asked 3 different crew for custom papers for immigration check in and they all said i could get it in the airport. have flown to india 3 times prior to this with Qatar and Emirates and they have always provided this paper ahead of landing to speed up the check in process. Also felt in general the crew is irritated and overworked. The one lady in my aisle from Chicago to Abu Dhabi was very pleasant but i was noticing the other crew were nice to each other but pretty cold with the passengers. Not what i usually have experienced from this type of overseas travel. Ive always felt the crew in qatar and emirates were overly sweet and pleasant but having seen the opposite this time i definitely prefer the former.
Media screen bad quality. Some were not working. Restrooms were bad Seats are refurbished not cushioned properly. For longhaul flights travellers will get back pain.

Airbus Scores Connectivity Deals From Emirates, Air India & Air Algerie At The Dubai Airshow
Posted: November 16, 2023 | Last updated: November 16, 2023
- Airbus has secured additional deals with Emirates, Air Algerie, and Air India for its Airspace Link HBCplus solution, totaling 71 aircraft orders, at the Dubai Airshow 2023.
- Emirates will install Airspace Link HBCplus on a total of 110 aircraft, including 50 Airbus A350-900 and 60 Airbus A380s.
- The Airspace Link HBCplus solution allows airlines to avoid interdependence of hardware and software, giving them flexibility in choosing their managed service providers (MSP).
Airbus has secured three additional deals with Emirates, Air Algerie, and Air India, as the three airlines chose the manufacturer’s Airspace Link HBCplus, a flexible satellite connectivity solution for Airbus’ aircraft. According to the European plane maker, the new orders total 71 aircraft, split between 60 Emirates Airbus A380, five Air Algeria A330neo , and six Air India A350-900s.
Airbus noted that Emirates, which was the launch customer of Airspace Link HBCplus, would now install the solution on a total of 110 aircraft, including 50 Airbus A350-900 and 60 Airbus A380s. The airline’s announcement about fitting its upcoming A350-900s with Airspace Link HBCplus came at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in June 2023.
In addition to Emirates, Air Algerie and Air India would also use the solution to provide internet to its passengers flying on their Airbus A330neo and Airbus A350-900s, respectively. All three airlines ordered the solution on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2023.

According to the manufacturer, with the addition of Ethiopian Airlines also ordering 15 Airspace Link HBCplus shipsets during AIX in June, the order book for the solution now numbers 125 units. The Ethiopian carrier also chose to fit the terminal and radome on its Airbus A350-900s.
“For the HBCplus selections to date, Viasat is the chosen managed service provider (MSP) and Safran Passenger Innovations is Airbus’ supplier and integrator of the terminal and Thinkom’s Ka-band antenna hardware.”

Meanwhile, André Schneider, the Vice President of Cabin and Cargo Programme at Airbus, said that he was happy to see that Emirates “has reaffirmed its confidence by selecting the technology for its flagship A380 fleet.” Furthermore, Schneider pointed out that the plane maker, Viasat, and Safran Passenger Innovations are “thrilled that more airlines, now also including Air Algerie and Air India, have chosen to equip HBCplus across their Airbus fleets to keep their travellers connected with lightning-fast internet.”
“Seeing our valued customers committing to our reliable satellite connectivity model, while combining a flexible choice of network providers and seamless hardware integration, is a real testimony to our Airspace Link philosophy.”
Avoiding interdependent hardware and software
Airbus launched the Airspace Link HBCplus solution during last year’s AIX conference, describing it as a “new flexible satellite connectivity solution that will be offered as an [Supplier Furnished Equipment (SFE) – ed. note] line-fit catalogue option and also for retrofit on all Airbus programmes.” Explaining the benefits of the new solution with the orders at the Dubai Airshow, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) stated that this platform helps airlines avoid “interdependence of hardware with its accompanying software service,” meaning that airlines are free to choose their MSPs after their aircraft are equipped with the Airspace Link HBCplus.

When Airbus initially launched the service, the solution only utilized Ka-band services. In the future, the manufacturer anticipated that Airspace Link HBCplus would also use Ku-band services from certain MSPs. The launch service provider for the connectivity solution was Inmarsat.
Currently, Emirates is underway its cabin retrofit program for the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER fleet. The first retrofitted double-decker entered service in January 2023, with a total of 67 A380 and 53 777-300ER aircraft slated to be equipped with the new cabin, which includes the airline’s premium economy offering. As of September 30, 10 Emirates A380s have been retrofitted with the new interiors.

’Threats’ to not fly Air India on Nov. 19 being investigated, RCMP and transport minister say
A U.S.-based Sikh activist says in a video that he’s asking Sikhs to 'not fly Air India' on Nov. 19, and there will be a 'global blockade' against the airline that day
Author of the article:
OTTAWA — Canada’s Transport Minister Pablo Rodriguez and the RCMP say an investigation is underway into what they call “threats” against Air India, after an online video warned people not to fly on the airline on Nov. 19.
Rodriguez says in a social media post that the government takes any threat to aviation “extremely seriously.”
He says Canada and its security partners are investigating the “recent threats circulating online,” and his press secretary confirms Rodriguez was referring to comments about Air India.

RCMP spokeswoman Kristine Kelly says police are collaborating with domestic and international partners and “industry stakeholders” in an investigation into the threat against Air India flights.
The original remarks about Air India were made by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a U.S.-based organizer of unofficial referendums on Sikh independence, including recent votes in Surrey, B.C.
Pannun says in a video, delivered in a mix of Punjabi and English, that he’s asking Sikhs to “not fly Air India” on Nov. 19, and there will be a “global blockade” against the airline that day.
However, Pannun says in a statement that he’s calling for a boycott of Air India and other businesses that support the Indian government.
“There is no threat,” Pannun says in his statement. “RCMP has every right to investigate a terror threat. And if they consider that calling for boycott of Air India as a civil disobedience … is a terror, then so be it, let them investigate.”
Nov. 19 is the final day of the cricket World Cup in Ahmedabad, India, an event Pannun refers to in the video as the “World Terror Cup.”
A 2005 Canadian government report concluded that the 1985 Air India bombings that killed 331 people were carried out as a result of a conspiracy by Sikh separatists that was “planned and executed” in Canada.
Only one man, bomb maker Inderjit Singh Reyat, was ever convicted.
Pannun is one of the main spokesman for the Sikh independence movement in North America who has been among the leaders of a series of non-binding referendums held among diaspora communities asking for the establishment of an independent state within India.
Another leader of the movement, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, was shot and killed in June outside a Sikh gurdwara in Surrey, B.C.
In September, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the House of Commons that there were “credible allegations” potentially linking India’s government to Nijjar’s killing.
Two rounds of referendum voting have been held in Surrey this year on Sikh independence at the same Gurdwara where Nijjar was killed, drawing thousands of voters from the community.
