Though they certainly aren’t the only travel trailers built to cater to the needs of couples who want to answer the call of the open road.

6 Best Small Camper Trailers for Couples in 2023
While considering the best travel trailers for a couple we also kept in mind things like lightweight towing characteristics.
We recognized that if you only need to sleep two people, that you can get away with a slightly smaller, and lighter travel trailer that can be pulled by a typical midsize SUV.
Of course, we also realize that a lot of couples love some extra elbow room.
So, we also made sure to include some larger models that might also need a full-size pickup truck to tow them.
Here are 6 of the most comfortable and luxurious camper trailers for a RVing couple:
- Coachmen – Freedom Express LTZ 252RBS
- Forest River – Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S
- Airstream – Flying Cloud 23FB
- Coachmen – Apex Tera 16T
- Cruiser RV – Radiance R-25RK
- Dutchmen – Coleman Rubicon 1608RB
1. Coachmen – Freedom Express LTZ 252RBS
- Length of 29.58 ft.
- Dry Weight of 5,822 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 1,778 lbs.
- GVWR of 7,600 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 672 lbs.
- Total Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 50.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 35.0 gallons
- Total Black Water Tank Capacity of 35.0 gallons
- 13,500 BTU Air Conditioner
On paper, the Coachmen – Freedom Express LTZ 252RBS travel trailer can sleep up to 6 people, though once you set foot in it, think you’ll agree that it’s set up best for a couple.
Then you can use things like the convertible dinette booth and the hide-a-bed sofa for times when you might want to have a guest or the grand kids sleepover. If anything the hide-a-bed might let one of you get a good night’s sleep, even if the other one is snoring like a chainsaw.
One of the other features that appeal to couples looking for a travel trailer is the large entertainment center that can be adjusted toward the dinette or the sofa. This lets you watch TV while you eat, or lets you both snuggle up to watch a movie. There’s even an artificial fireplace, to help warm things up on an unseasonably cool summer evening.
The kitchen set up in the Coachmen – Freedom Express LTZ 252RBS is nothing short of impressive and will be a true joy for a couple who loves to cook. The midship kitchen includes a dual basin sink, a large RV refrigerator, a three-burner stove, and a microwave.
There’s also an exterior kitchen with its own reach-in RV refrigerator, slide-out sink station, and a griddle. This lets you cook meals outside to keep from competing with the robust 13,500 BTU rooftop RV air conditioner.
2. Forest River – Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S
- Length of 25 ft. 11 in
- Dry Weight of 5,528 lbs.
- GVWR of 6,974 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 644 lbs.
- Total Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 52.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 60.0 gallons
- Total Black Water Tank Capacity of 30.0 gallons
- 35,000 BTU Heater
The Forest River – Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S is a compact travel trailer that has a lot to offer a traveling couple who prioritize creature comforts. This starts with a very thoughtful layout that sets the queen-size master suite at the back, a midship bathroom, and a living room that combines seamlessly with the kitchen.
When you consider that the queen-size master suite has its own TV, it means that you can both have a snuggle area to watch TV. Yet you also have some space with the additional TV in the living room where you each might wants some “Me Time.”
It also helps that the U-shaped dinette converts into a comfortable bed for those times when one of you just won’t stop snoring.
The exterior of the Forest River – Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S is also very well-thought-out. There are two exterior storage bays to let you keep your essential camping gear when you are on the move.
They also serve as hatches to stow your soiled shoes and outdoor gear to help keep the interior of the travel trailer neat and tidy.
You also get a 17-foot long awning, as well as an outside kitchen for those hot days when you don’t want the heat of cooking a meal to compete with the 13,500 BTU RV air conditioning system. Two things that might go understated, but should are benefits with this couples travel trailer is the heating.
This starts with an artificial fireplace in the main living room to help warm you both up on a cool summer night. Then there is also a 35,000 BTU propane furnace that comes as standard.
This makes the Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S one of the best travel trailers for a couple who loves to camp in the mountain or in cool fall weather.
3. Airstream – Flying Cloud 23FB
- Length of 23.75 ft.
- Dry Weight of 4806 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 1,194 lbs.
- GVWR of 6,000 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 467 lbs.
- Total Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 37.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 37.0 gallons
- Total Black Water Tank Capacity of 17.0 gallons
- 18,000 BTU Heater
Airstream is one of the iconic all-American travel trailer brands . They originally made their name selling models that catered to the needs of couples and small families. So we would be remiss if we didn’t include a model like the Airstream – Flying Cloud 23FB on our list of best travel trailers for a couple.
It has all the styling and looks of the “Classic” Airstream travel trailer, though it doesn’t carry the uber-high price tag. Instead, you get a travel trailer that is cozy for a couple, yet light enough that a robust midsize SUV or full-size SUV can tow it.
Just make sure to compare the gross weight to the maximum towing capacity of your vehicle.
The living quarter at midship combines the kitchen and living room together in one flow-thru layout. The queen-size master suite sits at the front and includes a privacy curtain that you can draw for those times when one of you wants to go to bed early.
The bathroom is stashed in the back and includes a full shower with plenty of elbow room. The six-gallon water heater in the Airstream – Flying Cloud 23FB is a little bit on the small side and probably won’t leave you enough hot water for both of you to take back to back showers.
Though you could very easily remove it to gain more space and install a tankless water heater. While this idea runs a little bit against the classic grain of Airstream’s tradition, it makes sense for a traveling couple and is easy to do.
4. Coachmen – Apex Tera 16T
- Dry Weight of 2,860 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 940 lbs.
- GVWR of 3,800 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 330 lbs.
- Length of 19.67 ft.
When you take a moment to look at the specifications of the Coachmen – Apex Tera 16T there’s a lot for a traveling couple to like.
Right off the bat, the maximum gross vehicle weight rating of just 3,800-pounds means that a couple can pack this travel trailer to the gills, and it will still be comfortable within the towing capacity of most midsize SUVs .
Though just because it’s light doesn’t mean that this couples-friendly travel trailer is stripped down. While the interior is compact, like you’d expect from a 19-foot long camper, you still get a full-size bed in the rear, a complete dry bath, and a complete kitchen.
There’s even a 6-cubic foot RV absorption refrigerator, which will keep enough food for two people, and a comfortable dinette for you both to eat meals together. The exterior of the Coachmen – Apex Tera 16T is also well-appointed. You can’t go more than a few paces without coming across a storage compartment to let you keep your personal items separate.
There’s even an outdoor camp kitchen that lets one person grill the meat outside while the other prepares the side dishes in the midship interior kitchen.
The fresh and wastewater storage tanks on the 2022 Coachmen – Apex Tera 16T are also very large for a camper this compact and lightweight. With 50 gallons of fresh water and a pair of 35-gallon wastewater tanks, a couple can be supported nicely for several days of boondocking without having to resupply.
5. Cruiser RV – Radiance R-25RK
- Length of 31.33 ft.
- Dry Weight of 6,140 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 3,252 lbs.
- GVWR of 9,440 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 640 lbs.
- Total Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 44.0 gallons
- 30,000 BTU furnace
The Cruiser RV – Radiance R-25RK is the true heavyweight on this list with a dry weight of 6,140 pounds and an impressive payload capacity of 3,252 pounds. When it comes to towing this means that you and your significant other need a full-size SUV or half-ton pickup to tow this travel trailer with confidence.
Assuming you’ve got the tow vehicle then what you are treated to is one of the best travel trailers for a couple that prioritizes elbow room. Right off the bat, you’ll notice a king-size bed in the front of the Cruiser RV – Radiance R-25RK.
On each side, there are his and hers nightstands and a wardrobe closet. Below it is a full belly storage system.
Not only does this boost the staggering payload capacity, but it also makes the weight of the travel trailer biased toward the tongue, where you want it. The nicely appointed kitchen sits at the back and has its own second door. This also provides the midship living room with tons of space and perfectly positions the entertainment center opposite a comfortable loveseat.
6. Dutchmen – Coleman Rubicon 1608RB
- Length of 20.7 ft.
- Dry Weight of 3846 lbs.
- Payload Capacity of 958 lbs.
- GVWR of 4,840 lbs.
- Hitch Weight of 525 lbs.
- Total Fresh Water Tank Capacity of 46.0 gallons
- Total Gray Water Tank Capacity of 28.0 gallons
- Total Black Water Tank Capacity of 28.0 gallons
The Dutchmen – Coleman Rubicon 1608RB is another one of the best compact lightweight travel trailers for a couple who wants to be able to tow it without investing in a gas-guzzling full-size pickup truck.
Completely empty it only has a dry weight of just 3,880-pounds. Yet it still has enough cargo capacity of up to 980-pounds to let each of you bring all your essential items and camping gear.
The interior of the Dutchmen – Coleman Rubicon 1608RB is cozy, without feeling cramped. There’s a queen-size bed at the front, which sits over a pass-thru storage compartment.
The midship love seat sits opposite the kitchen and entertainment center. There’s a portable indoor/outdoor table that lets you eat a meal together and catch your favorite shows.
In the back, there’s a full-size bathroom, that is connected to the 46-gallon fresh water tank and a pair of 28-gallon wastewater storage tanks.
This gives a couple the capacity to camp off the grid for a day or two, though the Coleman Rubicon 1608RB is probably a better travel trailer for couples who like to stay at an RV park with easy access to resources.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it worth it to upgrade the water heater.
One of the biggest complaints you find in a couples travel trailer is that most come with just a 6-gallon hot water heater.
This usually means one person gets a nice hot shower and the other gets a lukewarm shower where the hot water runs out.
Not to mention being short on hot water to wash the dishes. Some travel trailers make it easy to upgrade the hot water heater, though many simply don’t have the available space.
If you both love to take long hot showers, you might want to consider investing in a tankless water heater .
Not only will it give both of you on-demand hot water, but it will also open up more storage space when you remove the old 6-gallon tank.
Do Travel Trailers Under 25 Feet Have King Size Beds?
Many of the best travel trailers for couples end up being under 25-feet long.
This usually gives you a model that you can tow easily with an SUV or a light-duty pickup truck.
Though a compact travel trailer like this typically only offers a queen-size or a full-size bed in the master suite.
If you and your significant other prioritize a king-size bed, you might need to start shopping models that are longer than 25-feet long.
How Much Water Storage Does A Couple People?
The average person staying in an RV who is being conscious about their water consumption will go through about 6 to 7 gallons of water each day.
When you double that up for a couple, you are looking at about 12 to 15 gallons of water per day.
If your travel style has you boondocking off the grid for a typical two-day weekend , you should prioritize travel trailers that have at least a 25 to 30-gallon fresh water storage tank and matching grey water tank.
Which RV Trailer Is Right For You And Your Partner?
There are a lot of great travel trailers for couples on the market today.
Finding the best one for you and your significant other will depend on your travel style, as well as how much elbow room you both need.
Of course, you also need to factor in your tow vehicle to make sure you can safely pull the travel trailer you prioritize.
If you have an SUV and you want a camper that’s easy to tow, without having to upgrade your vehicle then the Dutchmen – Coleman Rubicon 1608RB and the Coachmen – Apex Tera 16T might be the best travel trailer to meet your needs.
Both are lightweight and compact when you drive down the road, without being cramped when you park up at your campsite.
If you and your significant other love to spread out, and you have a full-size pickup truck with the horsepower to pull it, then the Cruiser RV – Radiance R-25RK might be the best travel trailer to meet your needs.
Not only does it have an impressively wide-open interior, but you also get a king-size bed with his and hers wardrobe closets.

The Coachman Clipper 17FQ is another lightweight option on our list of the top 5 best travel trailers for couples. We love this travel trailer’s floor plan for young couples because there is a lot of room to grow.
One of the most unique space-saving features is the optional Murphy bed in place of the standard queen. This Clipper’s floorplan is one of the few travel trailers under 21 feet that has both a living room and a bedroom space. When the Murphy bed is in day mode, you’ll love all of the extra floor space, allowing you to easily move around the inside of the camper.

The ease of set-up and take-down means more flexibility for weekend warriors, those who love to tailgate, or even road trippers who aspire to stay somewhere new every night.
We love this travel trailer’s floorplan for couples in part because the bathroom is right there when you enter the camper. This not only helps you avoid tracking dirt throughout your camper but also makes pit stops on travel days super convenient.
The Jay Flight’s floor plan is also great because it accommodates both a dinette and jackknife sofa. These separate eating and lounging areas make this camper feel homier, while at the same time offering an additional two sleeping spaces.

- UVW: 6,303 lbs.

How Much Space Is Needed for a Couple?
So how do you decide which of these great travel trailers for couples is best for you and your significant other? Well, first you need to think about how much space you need as a couple. Each couple will be different because there are different camping styles.
They say love grows in small places. If you’re simply looking for a camper to use for quick weekend getaways, you may not want every bell and whistle. Simplicity and ease of use are likely the most important factors to the minimalist camping couple.
If minimalist is your style, you’ll love a small travel trailer for couples like Sunset Park Sunray. Tiny campers still can pack in all the necessary amenities without breaking the bank or necessitating an upgraded tow vehicle.
When you take a step back and evaluate your camping style, maybe you realize you need just a little more space and a few more amenities. If you don’t mind the idea of sharing a smaller space but the thought of a wet bath gives you anxiety, you likely fall into the comfortable camper category. The best travel trailer for your couple camping style will be something like the Coachman Clipper or the Jayco Jay Flight.
You may be reading this wondering how you’re going to fit fifty pairs of shoes in a camper without a slide. Or maybe you and your significant other are very much one of those “opposites attract” type of couples and you know that you’ll both need your own storage space.
Perhaps the wine cooler and fireplace options are just too enticing to pass up. If any of these sounds like you, you’ll love the luxury travel trailer for couples like the CrossRoads Zinger or the Keystone Cougar.
No matter your camping style, the most important thing is understanding what’s important to you and your partner when choosing the best travel trailer for you as a couple.
Best Used Travel Trailers for Couples
Equally as important as your couple’s camping style should be the amount you plan to spend on a travel trailer. But what can you do if you have caviar tastes on a tuna fish budget? Don’t think you have to settle for a travel trailer with fewer amenities than you might like. Buying a used travel trailer is an excellent option for couples.
If you choose to buy a pre-owned RV you can get a lot more bang for your buck. Just be sure to have the camper you choose inspected before purchasing.
Buying used can actually be a better investment for couples who know that their lifestyle may be changing in the near future. For instance, a newlywed couple may not like the idea of still paying on a camper’s note a few years down the road when they’ve expanded their family and will outgrow the space. The same could be said of a working couple that plans to transition to full-time RV living in retirement .
Speaking of making the best investment, a used travel trailer is always the way to go if you plan on renovating. If you’re the DIY type of couple that loves to make things your own, it makes no sense to buy brand new.
It would be an awful waste to rip out the floor and repaint the cabinets in a brand new coach. On the flip side, you could breathe new life and possibly increase the value of your investment by renovating a used travel trailer .
What Is the Perfect Travel Trailer for Two People?
So what is the best travel trailer for you and your significant other? This can be a tricky question since many factors come into play.
To answer this question, you’ll first want to sit down together and make a list of what’s important to you both. What are the features you absolutely must have?
Based on your needs and wants, you’ll be able to narrow down the travel trailers that fit your lifestyle best. Determining if you are the minimalistic, comfort camper, or glampers will go a long way toward helping you filter down your choices even more.
Next, you’ll want to think about your budget. In addition to the actual price of the travel trailer, be sure to add in the cost of insurance and registration . Consider whether or not you’ll need to purchase a larger vehicle to tow your rig. It’s also important to think about the potential cost of storing your travel trailer when not in use.
Finally, think about how you’ll use your travel trailer and for how many years. Not only will you get more bang for your buck buying used, but you also won’t feel guilty trading in your rig in just a few years if your needs change. Buying used is also a great option if you plan to renovate your camper.
Enjoy the Best Travel Trailer for Couples
After determining your camping style, when you’ll use your travel trailer, and what your budget is, we hope that our list of the top 5 travel trailers for couples will help you find your perfect camper. There are so many options on the market these days, there is truly something for everyone.
The right travel trailer will help grow any couple’s relationship. Fancier models have amenities that will help you throw the best date nights. Yet even the most minimalist travel trailer for couples will help you and your significant other bond by getting out and enjoying the great outdoors together .
Any travel trailer, by nature, will allow you to grow your relationship through the new and shared experiences that come with the RV lifestyle.

Guide to Choosing the Best Small Travel Trailer
By TAXA Habitat Specialists \ June 29, 2021
When most people hear “travel trailer,” they typically think of something big and bulky. Maybe not quite an RV ( more about the difference here ), but a vehicle meant for families, groups, or those looking to brave a camping trip via mobile home. While most travel trailers fit this description , many modern trailers have gone in a different direction.
A new focus on functionality has created a niche in the trailer market specifically designed for one or two people. As a result, the small (also referred to as “two-person”) travel trailer has emerged as an exciting option for adventurers leaning into minimalism and flexibility.
What is Considered a Small Travel Trailer?
Unsurprisingly, the definition of “small” can vary pretty widely. The general cutoff criteria you’ll see around these trailers is less than 20 feet long and lighter than 5,000 pounds fully loaded. While even our largest habitat, Mantis , falls into this category, our TigerMoth and Cricket (as well as their overlanding editions ) are more “true” small trailers at 12 feet and 15 feet long, respectively. TigerMoth has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, or maximum weight it’s able to carry (including the trailer’s own weight), of 2,200 lbs, while Cricket’s GVWR is 2,700 lbs .
One important note on these two is that TigerMoth has capacity for two adults like most small travel trailers, but our Cricket habitat has additional capacity for two kids as well . This essentially gives you extra space in the same footprint and weight as many other “two-person” trailers.
Pros & Cons of Small Travel Trailers
Now that we have an idea of what small travel trailers are, we should discuss some of their benefits and drawbacks to understand why they’re so popular.
Small Travel Trailer Advantages
Starting with the positives, there’s a lot to love. While there are countless benefits to having a small trailer depending on who you ask, we’ve distilled the major selling points down to three factors:
The smaller size of these two-person travel trailers means that they’re almost always driveway- and garage-friendly. Less bulk also tends to yield better fuel economy for your tow vehicle and diminished power requirements for the trailer itself.
This savings in size leads to more options in practical use. For instance, a smaller trailer has a much easier time navigating windy or uneven paths than a larger one. While some adventurers have found ways to overland using larger vehicles, compact travel trailers primarily occupy this niche .
Beyond their rugged capabilities, some two-person travel trailers have options or built-in engineering to expand the number of beds, storage, or accessories included. By maintaining their original size but transcending the attached limitations, they offer the best of both the small and large vehicle worlds in many cases.
Less internal space inevitably forces adventurers to spend more time outside the trailer. This idea might be intimidating to some — however, at TAXA we believe that “out is in.” In other words, the purpose of a travel trailer should be to connect adventurers with the outside world rather than create separation. Thus, the advantage of these smaller trailers is a guarantee of this reward.
Small Travel Trailer Downsides
On the downside, some of these positives can also be seen as negatives in certain situations. Of course, this will also depend on the person in question, but there are limitations from traditional campers, trailers, and RVs that have to be sacrificed for the smaller size:
While smaller space can be a positive (especially in our eyes), it can be viewed as a detractor to some. This means fewer beds, limited storage, and minimal living room. If you foresee having more robust needs in any of those categories, it might be worth looking into mid- to large-sized trailers and campers. A great option here is our Mantis habitat , which is still small enough to fit in your garage but offers more space than TigerMoth and Cricket.
While on an expedition, adventurers typically want to leave the comforts of home behind to some extent. They embrace the idea of entering the natural world and playing by its rules. On the other hand, some find these challenges distracting or impractical. Certain contexts demand the efficiencies of a bathroom, shower, and full kitchen. While some smaller trailers creatively engineer these features into the footprint (look no further than the TAXA Cricket ), many do without completely.
What to Look for in a Small Adventure Trailer
That being said, there’s a reason that this category has been seeing so much growth. At increasing rates, travelers seem to prefer the small trailer’s efficient use of space, thoughtful layout, and impressive durability. However, all models are not created equal. If you’re thinking about investing in a small trailer, here’s a checklist of considerations to help find a habitat that meets your needs:
How many beds does the trailer offer? Is this number flexible at all? Will the storage capacity house all potential essentials along with supplementary gear?
- Number of beds
- Cargo capacity
- Accessory rack
All of our habitats can sleep anywhere from 2 to 4+ adults.
Most small adventure vehicles lack traditional bathrooms. However, some include makeshift options. If a trailer lacks bathrooms, think about any extra equipment/storage needed to provide a solution.
- Shower, toilet, sink
- Hot and cold water
Mantis features a cassette toilet, and Cricket offers a portable toilet option.
More and more, small trailers are offering some kind of cooking space. These can vary significantly, though. Some manufacturers include a small stove while others flaunt full galley kitchens.
- Stovetop, sink, counter space
- Cold storage options
Mantis and Cricket both feature impressive baltic-birch plywood kitchens, while TigerMoth offers an efficient pull-out kitchen.
While most modern adventure vehicles include a temporary power solution of some kind, consider the length of your expedition and the amount of power you will need. Are built-in options sufficient, or will supplementary devices become necessary? Beyond this, are power outlets conveniently located where needed?
- Trailer battery capacity
- Solar power input included or available
- Power outlet type, quantity, and location
Every TAXA Habitat model is equipped with a range of power solutions that enable you to safely extend your adventuring.
Check the height, length, and width of the vehicle. Upon doing so, make sure you have a suitable place to store it when not being used .
Think about some potential destinations that you might care to visit. Will the size of the vehicle help or hinder the expedition? Generally speaking, limiting size leads to more options. For instance, smaller trailers typically have an easier time overlanding or meeting campground requirements.
Can your car safely tow the weight of the trailer with cargo included? To be safe, reference the trailer’s GVWR and measure against your car’s tow capacity. Here’s a helpful tow rating database if you need to check the latter.
TAXA Habitats range in size from Woolly Bear, the go-anywhere basecamp that weighs only 1,270 lbs., to Mantis Overland, our most spacious model enhanced for overlanding and weighs 3,486 lbs.
Lighting and Ventilation
In any indoor space, lighting dramatically affects mood and usability. With that said, how well does the trailer incorporate natural light through windows? At nighttime, does the trailer include a lighting arrangement, or will you need to bring something extra?
Alongside lighting, ventilation generally defines the comfort of a room. Once more, do the windows help in this process? Does the trailer offer climate control devices to supplement standard airflow?
Flow and Accessibility
A skillful layout can make all the difference in accomplishing flow. In order to evaluate this, study the floor plan or listen to others’ experiences. Does the trailer feature storage compartments or appliances in intuitive places? How well does the vehicle merge inside spaces with the outdoors?
For TAXA Outdoors habitats, our design is inspired through working for NASA’s Habitability Design Center. This taught us to think about how we use and share physical space in very human terms, while still being as functional as possible.
While not vital to some, trailers designed for rugged environments typically stand the test of time better than most. As a result, take a look at the suspension design, hitch mobility, vehicle weight, and tire diameter. Generally speaking, trailers that minimize load tension while maximizing support are the ones to trust.
For example, the Cricket Overland features a Timbren 3500lbs Axle-Less trailer suspension with a 4″ lift. This supplements already robust Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT tires to provide excellent ground clearance and sturdy engineering suitable for a multitude of destinations over the trailer’s lifetime.
Construction and Materials
Aside from build design, execution matters just as much if not more so. Research the materials ( more about trailer materials here ) on display and how the manufacturer constructed them. TAXA habitats boast handcrafted steel and aluminum frames, which you can learn more about here .
Find the Perfect Small Adventure Trailer
While this checklist and guide is by no means exhaustive, it should serve as a basic rundown of things to consider before making a decision. Two-person travel trailers may lack the bulk of living space or domestic comforts that traditional models employ, but they offer more practical solutions for storing and hauling. This size also frequently provides options for supplementary beds or accessories when needed, and encourages adventurers to actually adventure and to get outside and explore.
If you’re looking for a vehicle with this philosophy at the center, be sure to look at TigerMoth , Cricket , or even Woolly Bear if you want to get really compact. If you have more questions, schedule a call with a habitat expert here !

Are Small Lightweight Pull Campers Right For You?
Before we dive into the specs and features of these adorable small camper trailers, take some time to ponder this question: is this the right style of RV or travel trailer for you?
Advantages of Small Camper Trailers
- Easy towing. They can be towed by just about any car and provide better visibility of what’s happening on the road behind you.
- Comfortable sleeping space. Sleep on a real bed (or at least a tri-fold mattress) instead of on an air mattress or sleeping pad.
- Off-road capability. Not true of all small camping trailers, but many feature larger off-road tires, increased ground clearance, and upgraded suspension that can handle your off-road adventures.
- A rainy day sanctuary. Your interior space will be a more comfortable escape from the elements than the thin veneer of safety provided by a camping tent.
Disadvantages of Small Travel Trailers
- Minimal storage space. Small camper trailers don’t have pass-through or underneath storage like you’d find on larger motorhomes and towables.
- Small bathroom facilities (if at all). Many teardrop trailers and other small campers don’t have restrooms at all. Those that do have to squeeze them into a very small space compared to larger RVs.
- Cooking still happens outside. While many offer a covered cooking area, you’ll still be exposed to the elements when preparing meals in one of these small family campers.
- Minimal room for guests. Some small travel trailers offer a second fold-down bed or a rooftop tent. But generally, your guests will need to set up their own sleeping/living space next to you.
How Much Weight Can Your Vehicle Tow?
Your vehicle’s towing capacity plays a large role in which lightweight travel trailer you choose. Most of these small camping trailers advertise their unloaded weight, but you’re interested in the total amount of weight your vehicle can safely tow – your gross vehicle weight rating.
This is the maximum loaded weight a vehicle can handle while still towing safely. In most cases, this includes the unloaded weight of your small trailer, cargo weight, passenger weight, and the weight of any liquids held in your trailer’s holding tanks.
Finding the unloaded weight of your travel trailer is the easy part of this calculation. But dialing in cargo, passenger, and liquid weights can get a little more nuanced. It’s okay to make an educated guess on these weights, but you always want to err on the side of caution.
Camping World’s towing guide is a great resource to help you calculate how much just about any car can tow.

View All Palomino Puma Travel Trailer Floorplans!
Why we recommend the Palomino Puma travel trailer: Palomino’s Puma is no stranger to our top 5 lists, but the reason it made the top of the list here is due to its expansive variety of 43 floorplans, a good amount of which are within the 2-4 sleeping capacity that a couple would love. You have many options, both in terms of layout and in terms of actual physical traits. We recommend taking a look at the Puma 31FKRK and the Puma 32RKTS .

Some of the standard amenities that you will see are radius baggage doors and a jack knife sofa. Most of its floorplans have a sleeping capacity of 3-4 people, making it ideal for couples, but at the same time it is 20-25 feet long, giving you a spacious interior. We recommend checking out the Flagstaff Micro-Lite 19FD and the Flagstaff Micro-Lite 25FBLS .
It is hard to find anything negative about the Micro-Lite’s features. From the full aluminum frame and the radius roof on the outside to the decorative valances and the on premium speakers the inside, there’s nothing you’re missing out on. You’ll also be able to upgrade to a 15,000 BTU A/C over the 13,500 BTU variant, which will be a great feature for those traveling in the south or just throughout the summer.

It’s also fairly lightweight as most of its floorplans are under 5,000 pounds and arrow d 20-25 feet long footprint. We suggest you check out the Rockwood Mini Lite 1909S and the Rockwood Mini Lite 2506S in particular.
The Rockwood Mini Lite doesn’t disappoint as it covers every feature you could expect from a decent travel trailer, and then some! Some of these features include (but are not limited to) a free standing high pressure table, 44-inch family dinette, power awning, outside grill prep, and a lockable bed latch system. View All Heartland North Trail Travel Trailer Floorplans!
Why we recommend the Heartland North Trail travel trailer: If you’re looking for travel trailers that have additional space than the other choices, then the North Trail should be perfect for you. Many of its floorplans are over 30 feet and still have a sleeping capacity of 4, making it one of the travel trailers with the best space to sleeping capacity ratio. We recommend checking out the North Trail 21 FBS and the North Trail 32 RETS King .

Your featherlight weekend camper.
View All Forest River Forest River R-Pod Travel Trailer Floorplans!
Why we recommend Forest River R-Pod travel trailer: It might seem like we’re overdoing it with travel trailers from Forest River, but the fact that the R-pod is one of the smallest, most featherlight travel trailers gives it the great credit it deserves. If it’s just the two of you, the size will be perfect! It can also handle 2 more people, having floorplans with bunk beds if you’ve decided to bring friends along.
Don’t let the small size convince you that Forest River has cut corners on features. While we liked the bunkhouse on the R-Pod RP-172 and the U-Shaped Dinette on the R-Pod RP-190 , they otherwise share the same features. You also have the option to add a 13,500 BTU air conditioner, a convection microwave, a 24-inch flat screen LED TV among many other features, making this a versatile travel trailer as well!

Why You Can Trust GearJunkie
We get that people want the best value on gear before spending their hard-earned money. Our expert team carefully selects the products we cover and vigorously researches (and tests) our top choices. Bottom line: The GearJunkie staff is dedicated to exhaustive analysis and helping our readers make informed choices.
Buyer’s Guide: How to Choose a Camper Trailer
The dry weight of the camper trailers listed in our guide range from 1,458 to 6,122 pounds. That weight typically excludes water, gas, batteries, or additional accessories like rooftop tents and racks. Pay attention to the dry weight of the camper so you can determine if the build is within the payload of your vehicle.
The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum total weight the trailer can safely weigh. The GVWR includes the dry weight, also known as the curb weight, plus the weight of people, accessories, supplies, and all your outdoor gear.
The GVWR of these trailer picks ranges from 2,200 to 10,000 pounds. You’ll need the GVWR so that you can calculate how much equipment you can safely haul in the trailer on the road, as well as how many people can sleep inside.
Clearance & Tires
If you plan on driving through rugged terrain that would require 4WD, you should invest in a trailer with generous ground clearance and off-road tires , and consider an articulating hitch to prevent toppling over on uneven terrain. Sturdier tires can also provide better traction on slick roads with snow or rain.
The ground clearance of the off-road models on our list range from 1.5 to 1.9 feet on the Timberleaf Classic Teardrop Trailer , Vorsheer XOC Extreme Overland Camper , Off Grid Trailers Expedition 2.0 , and Taxa Outdoors TigerMoth Overland .
When we take a close look at tires, the TigerMoth Overland is outfitted with the 225/75R16 ( Cooper Tires Discoverer AT3 LT ), offering a tread guard against rocks and gravel, extreme durability, and solid grip on wet roads or trails.
By comparison, the Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB has Goodyear Endurance ST225/75R15 Tires, which are great for towing stability and a high load capacity but are not ideal for rough terrain.
At a minimum, our favorite compact travel trailers offer space for two people to sleep. A portion of these designs include cabins with a nonconvertible queen-size bed. Other trailer designs have options for a couch-to-bed conversion, like the TigerMoth Overland or Off Grid Trailers Expedition 2.0 , or a structure that supports a rooftop tent.
The larger travel trailers on our list feature a range of comfortable overnight options. The designs range from daytime couches and fold-down Murphy beds to bunk beds to dinettes that transform into a bed. If you’re a taller or wider person, pay attention to the specific bed size.
For instance, the Winnebago Micro Minnie 2306BHS has a full queen-size mattress, whereas some trailers will have a narrower queen-size mattress. The Winnebago Micro Minnie 2306BHS also has a bunk bed that can fold up, so more space is available for storage when the bed isn’t needed.
Also, not all mattresses are created equal. The pad in the TigerMoth Overland is firm with no cushion or give. However, the Off Grid Trailers Expedition 2.0 features a high-density memory foam mattress, and the Airstream Flying Cloud 23FB has a pillow-top memory foam mattress.
A handful of the tidiest travel trailers have indoor space that’s solely dedicated to a queen-size bed and cubbies. Other tight trailers have beds that convert into a daytime couch or even have a table that can be easily installed. We like that even when the couch is pulled down into a bed in the TigerMoth Overland , there’s still a space to pull our shoes on and off.
Many trailers include an awning, which becomes a gem when you consider how much more space everyone will have to lounge out of the sun and rain at camp. Larger travel trailers typically have indoor sofas and dining tables that often convert into a bed.
Pricier, larger travel trailers have indoor kitchens with a range of features. Inside, you’ll often find a microwave, refrigerator, freezer, oven, sink, two- or three-burner stove, cabinets, countertop space, and dining table.
More compact, less expensive travel trailers have outdoor kitchens, and there’s a variety of unique designs. A galley organizes the kitchen area on the back of the rig, like on the Timberleaf Classic Off-Road Teardrop Trailer .
Other designs have pull-out drawers or fold-down units with the pantry, stove, sink, or countertop like the Off Grid Trailers Expedition 2.0 or the Taxa Outdoors TigerMoth Camper Trailer .
The spacious travel trailers on our list have indoor bathrooms with a toilet and standup shower. Tinier travel trailers don’t have an indoor bathroom, but a handful have an outdoor shower head with warm water hookups like the Off Grid Trailers Expedition 2.0 and Vorsheer XOC Extreme Overland Camper .
If your camper trailer doesn’t have an indoor bathroom and you’re posted up in a remote place, be sure to research that location’s human waste and Leave No Trace requirements — whether that means digging a cathole or using a WAG bag.
Interior storage space is great for organizing apparel, cosmetics, electronics, and other comforts. Inside, travel trailers often feature storage space like shelves and cubbies, but not all offer a latch system to hold items in place while driving around.
There can also be storage space beneath the mattress. The Taxa Outdoors TigerMoth Camper Trailer had an aluminum interior frame, which extended onto the doors, with numerous holes to clip carabiners, hang dish towels, or slide in hangers to dry gear like our dense wetsuits .
Larger travel trailers usually have ample storage space, including cubbies beneath sofas, cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen, and even hanging closets.
Outside, tidy travel trailers can also have a toolbox, tongue box, or racks for storing gear and equipment. Large travel trailers also often have storage compartments facing outward, which sometimes include pass-through storage space.
Doors & Windows
We really appreciate it when the doors and windows are built to last in a travel trailer. One of the most unique door configurations is on the Taxa Outdoors TigerMoth Camper Trailer . There’s a back door that swings open and a second door that opens upward like the gullwing doors on the DMC DeLorean in “Back to the Future.” Nearly the entire wall serves as a sturdy canopy.
Windows are great for allowing ample light and can help a space feel bigger, but shades are equally important for privacy and to block out the light of the full moon or campground lamp. Slide-down shades can black out the inside of the trailer, and bug screens can enable airflow regardless of bug activity. It’s also nice to have windows that can be locked when they’re cracked.
Electric, Solar, Gas, and Water
You’ll need to closely consider how much energy and resources you’ll need between trips to a gas station, store, or an overnight stay with shore power.
Even if you don’t plan to charge your laptop or watch television — an option in larger travel trailers — it’s nice to have battery power. The battery can run indoor and outdoor LED lights around the kitchen and doors, as well as the roof exhaust fan — and it can charge up phones. Many travel trailers feature a prewired solar inlet to get an energy boost off solar panels, too.
Each trailer will have a specific capacity for gas and water carry. For instance, the Off Grid Trailers Expedition 2.0 water tank boasts a 31-gallon capacity. The Vorsheer XOC Extreme Overland Camper has upgrade options for a 30-gallon water tank and bonus storage that holds two extra 5-gallon jerry cans. The Taxa Outdoors TigerMoth Camper Trailer holds one 5-gallon jerry can.
In contrast, larger travel trailers have a greater water capacity, in great part to manage the bathroom. The Black Series HQ19 comes with a 50-gallon water tank for supply, a 26-gallon gray water tank for collection (for all used water except from the toilet), and a 26-gallon black water tank for all toilet waste.
Often trailers include an indoor smoke detector, fire extinguisher, and carbon monoxide detector.
How much weight can you tow?
Check your vehicle’s door jamb or owner’s manual for the payload, max towing, and tongue weight rating. Be sure not to exceed those caps with what’s hauled in the trailer and in the vehicle.
What camper trailer features allow off-road capability?
If you intend to off-road with your trailer, be sure to pick one with durable, all-terrain tires that can handle paved, gravel, dirt, and rocky surfaces. Look for a steel frame, ample clearance, axleless suspension, burly fenders, and articulating hitch.
How long do camper trailers last?
Most camper trailers will last between 10 and 15 years. However, numerous factors determine the lifespan of a camper trailer, and the most unpredictable is the human element. Outside elements that affect the lifespan of a camper trailer include the original design, build quality, usage, and storage when not traveling.
Assuming it is a quality-built trailer, is stored properly when not in service, and received regular maintenance, it’s normal to see camper trailers in use after 15 years from when it was bought brand new.

30 Small Campers With Bathrooms: No More Annoying Trips To The Toilets!
By Kelly Beasley
Small campers with bathrooms are highly sought after in the RV world.
This is because small campers are easier to deal with when driving and maneuvering. But there are fewer of them in the market AND not all small campers have a bathroom.
Some have zero bathroom amenities, while others might lack a shower.
But the smaller they are, usually the less likely they are to have a toilet and even less likely a shower.
But small RVs with bathrooms do exist! And you just found a big list of the smallest RV with bathroom facilities.
You'll find tiny campers with bathroom facilities in this list, all under 19 feet in length.
All of them DO include a shower and a toilet.
Let's have a look!

What Is A Wet Bath VS Dry Bath?
First, understand that RVs come with what is referred to as a wet bath or a dry bath.
Here's the difference:
A dry bath means that the toilet is separate from the shower area.
When you shower, the toilet and bathroom walls don't get wet, just like any home bathroom.
A wet bath means the entire bathroom is waterproof and is designed to get wet when you shower, including the toilet.
Some people HATE this and won't get a wet bath, but others are fine with it.
A wet bath is small and designed to save space, so it's often what is found in small trailers with bathrooms.
30 Small Campers With Bathrooms
Without further ado, let's look at 30 great small camper trailers with bathroom facilities!
(Note: some of these are not made anymore but can be found in the used marketplace.)
Keep in mind many of these have multiple floorplans.
So if you don't like what is pictured, there might be other layouts or even other models in the line (some are mentioned here) that are still 19 feet long or under and have bathrooms.
Length: 17 feet 5 inches
Weight: 3360 pounds
The Bigfoot is a coveted fiberglass travel trailer, made from two molds of fiberglass, much like the Casita and Scamp.
This build type lasts a lifetime when properly maintained. They hold their value better than most RVs.
It offers one floorplan with 4 different interior colors.
If you don't like the 'rat fur' on the walls of the Casita or Scamp, you don't have that in a Bigfoot.
Forest River Flagstaff E-Pro E15 TB
Length: 16 feet 4 inches
The Forest River E-Pro series also has a larger version with a bathroom, the E16BH (19 feet long), which has a dry bath instead of the wet bath featured in the E15.
The dinette can sleep as either two twin beds or as a king-sized bed! Amazing for such a small trailer.
We like the solid entry step and the exterior storage that's hefty for the size of this trailer.
However, there's no counter space aside from the dinette table.
You can get this one with a bike rack on the front.
Forest River Wolf Pup 14CC
Length: 19 feet 3 inches
Weight: 2884 pounds
We love the rear entry design, which is rare in travel trailers.
This one has all the amenities you need for a fantastic camping trip, including a decent cargo-carrying capacity of just over 1,000 pounds so you can bring lots with you to the campground.
It's a good layout with a dry bath and good counter space for the size of the unit.
Little Guy Mini Max
Length: 17 feet 2 inches
Weight: 2,320 pounds
This is one of the teardrop travel trailers people love as it has everything inside (no outdoor kitchen) and a full bathroom.
It's very short at 17 feet 2 inches long, so that you can take it about anywhere. The teardrop shape makes it easy to tow and light on the MPG. Additionally, it's a very similar layout to the E-Pro above, but this is not as tall, so it's better for fitting inside a garage.
The E-Pro is 10 feet 6 inches, and this one is only 8 feet 11 inches to 9 feet 1 inch tall.
Jayco Hummingbird Series
Length: 19 feel 1 inch
Weight: 2,890 pounds
Jayco offers three floorplans with bathrooms in this series (four, if you go back to 2020 ).
Jayco as a brand is well-known, though it's not on our top list of manufacturers (Not many are!).
If you don't want a slide-out, look for a used 16MRB. That one doesn't show up in their current brochure, but it does on their website.
The other three have a slide. Slides are a personal preference .
Be aware that if you have a slide, you may not be able to access the bathroom or refrigerator while on the way to your destination without putting out the slide.
Airstream Bambi Series 16RB and 19CB
Length: 16 feet and 19 feet
Weight: 3,000 and 3,650 pounds
Dry bath (16) and Wet bath (19)
Airstream is pretty much a household name, and their compact trailers are sure nice looking!
If you can afford one, they are sweet inside and out. These two are no exception. ( How much are Airstream trailers? )
Be prepared not to want ever to get it scratched, though.
Best to NOT get one if you want to keep it pristine, but you like to camp in densely treed areas where it can get pretty scratched up.
Forest River Rpod Series 153 and 171
Length: 17 feet 6 inches and 19 inches
Weight: 3159 and 2,714 pounds
Dry Bath (153) and Wet bath (171)
The Forest River R-Pod is a pretty popular and well-known name for making small trailers.
Strange that the smaller of these two weighs more and has a wet bath, whereas the larger weighs less and has a wet bath.
But stranger things have happened. Though WE aren't crazy about the floorplans of these two, you might love them!
Casita Travel Trailers
Length: 17 feet
Weight: 2210 - 2480 pounds
Wet bath (all models)
Casita camp trailers comes in many floorplans, but the size and shape don't change.
It's a 17-foot molded fiberglass travel trailer that is always in high demand, and some units are ordered without bathrooms.
So either order a new one with a bathroom or look for used units that include a floor plan with the bathroom option.
Also, expect over a year wait for yours to be completed and delivered.
Escape E14 Hatch
Length: 18 feet 1 inch
Weight: 2770 pounds
This is essentially a toy hauler ... either you can use it to haul some of your recreation toys, or you can enjoy opening the back to make the inside of your small travel trailer seem more like an outdoor room!
Strange kitchen layout- there's a pretty substantial counter space area, but you cannot get to it.
You can use it for storage, but don't expect to be able to do any food prep there.
Pretty unique camper, otherwise.
Forest River Rockwood High Wall Series
Length: 17 feet 3 inches
Weight: 2,204 pounds
The Forest River Rockwall high wall series is a pop-up trailer with tent-like sides, so scroll on if this isn't your thing.
The nice thing about it is the 'windows' do make it feel more like you're outside when you're inside.
It's also very easy to store inside a garage and pull with an SUV due to its lightweight nature.
This is not a trailer you should use in extreme temperatures.
Length: 17 feet 8 inches
Weight: 2640 pounds
This is the second fiberglass molded trailer on our list.
These are also coveted, just like Casitas are. This trailer will cost you, but it will also last much longer than most traditionally built trailers.
It's one of the best small camping trailers money can buy.
It offers three different floorplans and also a contemporary white color inside.
Riverside RV Retro 135
Length: 15 feet 9 inches
Talk about a shorty! If you're looking for a VERY short trailer with a DRY BATH, this is it! At 15 feet 9 inches exterior length, you'll hardly realize you're towing.
This one even has a decent-sized freshwater tank at 36 gallons.
They also have the 165 with a bathroom, which is still well under 20 feet long.
Aliner Somerset Utah
Length: 18 feet 9 inches
Weight: 2760 pounds
Here's another pop-up tent camper, so keep scrolling if that's not what you want.
This type is harder to manage the interior temperature than most others in this list due to the canvas walls.
But it has plenty of amenities like a stove, water tank, and a queen-size bed, so you'll have the regular comforts of a small camper with a bathroom you need in a trailer you can park in your garage.
Happier Camper Traveler
Weight: 1800 pounds
The Happier Camper is a modular mini camper with a bathroom.
It comes with boxes that you can move around to make a dinette, office area, or bed in just minutes.
This might not be the most ideal for some, but for others, it's perfect. That decision is yours.
It's also a molded fiberglass camper , so it will outlast many of its fellow campers out there.
This is a quality product perfect for the right type of camper.
Safari Condo R1713
Weight: 1825 pounds
Talk about a unique small RV with a bathroom! This one 'pops up' but is hard-sided all around, featuring windows almost 360 degrees around the camper.
A wet bath is an option, so realize that it might only have a toilet if you're looking for a used example.
This fits better inside a garage than traditional RVs, so if that's a feature you want, this fits the bill but is better than a soft-sided pop-up.
Safari Condo is a Canadian company, and there is a long wait if you order a new one.
Nucamp Tab 320 S
Length: 15 feet 3 inches
Weight: 1946 pounds
If you want tiny, here you go! This adventure camper is only 15 feet 3 inches long on the outside, one of the smallest on our list.
It's a teardrop camper with a tiny kitchen featuring a refrigerator and stovetop but no microwave. You can sleep with it as one big bed or two twin beds.
It's cute, agile, and might be the perfect small trailer with bathroom facilities for you, especially if you want to store it in your garage.
This one is only 8 feet tall! That also means the interior height is shorter- only 5 feet 7 inches at the highest point inside, so this trailer is better for shorter folks.
Venture RV Sonic Lite SL150VRB
Length: 19 feet 11 inches
Weight: 3,160 pounds
This is the longest on the list and is the first small camper trailer with bathroom facilities with a murphy bed.
A Murphy bed is a bed that pulls down for use and pops up into the wall when not in use, and the area reverts back into a couch.
It's a good idea to use all the space in a small area, but if you aren't into making the bed every day, this may not be your jam.
Otherwise, the bathroom is quite large for the camper, including spacious bathroom closets and a walk-in shower.
Length: 16 feet 6 inches
Weight: 2116 pounds
You either buy this one used or you're shipping one from the UK!
But they are so cool and well-made, we had to include them.
(Note that nuCamp has released a US version .)
They are fiberglass 'egg' trailers that won't leak or rot like so many traditionally-made trailers will without lots of care.
The inside features a modern, clean design with a good amount of storage. If you're lucky enough to find one and are able to afford it, enjoy!
16 Foot Scamp
Length: 16 feet
Weight: 1750 pounds
Scamp makes a fiberglass 'egg' trailer and they are iconic.
Owners are usually hardcore fans and don't give them up. The fiberglass 2-piece shell makes for an almost indestructible trailer that will probably outlast you.
They offer 7 floorplans with this size, and the dry weight depends on which options are on the trailer. 1750 is the lightest.
They come with a fridge, 2 sinks, and can likely be pulled with a small truck or SUV.
It's one of the smallest RV with shower facilities that you can find.
13 Foot Scamp
Length: 13 feet
Weight: 1200+ pounds
Here's a smaller version of the Scamp we talked about above. It's a fiberglass 'egg' trailer that should outlive you, barring it being in an accident!
They come in standard and deluxe, with the deluxe having solid oak cabinets.
Not all floorplans have the bathroom, so if buying used, you'll have to look around.
These are highly coveted and hard to find, so if you find one, and know you want it, don't dilly dally around!
Winnebago Micro Minnie 1708FB
Length: 19 feet 4 inches
This is one of the heaviest on our list, but Winnebago does have a good reputation for decent quality, hence the extra weight.
This has no slide, but be prepared to put up and take down the murphy bed daily (unless you decide to keep it a bed full-time).
Length: 16 feet 2 inches
Weight: 2650 pounds
This little thing sports the classic Airstream aluminum skin and riveted construction.
Inside, it holds a dinette that breaks down into a bed, a sink, stove, wet bath, refrigerator and even a microwave.
This is another trailer on the list that is likely to outlast you if taken care of properly (and there's not much to keeping it in good shape).
It's pricey as it's an Airstream. ( Pros and Cons of an Airstream )
But if you like it and can afford it, it's a great lightweight camper with bathroom facilities.
Length: 18 feet
Weight: 2580+ pounds
This is possibly the most unique small RV trailer with bathroom facilities on our list. It's a hard sided pop up camper , similar to the Safari Condo .
This one opens up and gets longer (25 feet open) but is short for towing.
The purpose is to keep it low for garage storage and it makes it low and easy to tow. It's a pretty ingenious design!
Keep in mind that you can't easily just stop on the side of the road to use the toilet or kitchen with this one.
Weight: 3,400 lbs pounds
The Nest was discontinued in 2020 , so there are a limited number of them on the streets as they were released in 2018, just under three years of production.
It's Airstream's fiberglass-shell trailer.
You'll find everything you need for a weekend camping trip (or for full-time RV life! We know people who have full-timed in a Nest).
It's a bit of a head-turner, so expect people to ask to see inside when you're at the campground.
Jayco Jayflight 145RB
Weight: 2330 pounds
What a cutie! It's impressive how many amenities manufacturers fit inside these small camping trailers with bathrooms.
And it's even a dry bath!
With the window-style side mount AC, the trailer is shorter than others in its class. Counter space is more plentiful in this one than most in this list.
The windows are also plentiful, giving it a spacious, non cave-like feel inside. It even has a tiny bathtub!
Coachmen Apex 15T
Not the actual 15T, but a (longer) Coachmen Apex
Length: 18 feet 7 inches
Weight: 2862 pounds
This one may feel a little tight inside but it SLEEPS FOUR!!
Yes, it has two bunks, so it's probably better for kids than adults. It has a bike rack (or the ability to have one) on the front.
The main bed makes into a sofa for day use.
It's pre-wired for solar and it has outdoor speakers, a power awning, microwave, and an outdoor camp stove.
It even has a dry bath, amazingly.
This is not a camper you'd want to spend a lot of time inside during the day (Who wants that anyway?) but if you need small AND you have kids, this works out very well. Have a look.
inTech Sol: Dawn, Eclipse, and Horizon
Length: 16, 17, 19 feet
Weight: 2650 - 3230 pounds
Here's another high-quality product from an independently-owned manufacturer, inTech RV.
They offer three trailers with bathrooms 19 feet and under that are VERY contemporary looking compared to the industry standard.
Build with an aluminum cage, they are not going to fall apart anytime soon.
They are also light and modern-looking. They don't mass-produce these trailers, so if you want to order one, anticipate a long wait.
But if you want a well-made, good looking camper with a bathroom that also looks good, check out inTech.
Sundowner Trail Blazer Series
Length: 16 feet - 18 feet 8 inches
Sundowner sells horse trailers but they also sell campers.
In their Sundowner series, they have the 1669, 1686, and 1869.
All three are 19 feet and under in length.
Their interiors are surprisingly spacious and well thought-out. Windows aren't at a premium on these, but if you don't care, great!
If there's a dealer near you, go check them out.
Travel Lite Rove Lite
Length: 15 feet 4 inches
Weight: 1498+ pounds
The Travel Lite comes in three floorplans. This is one of the shortest trailers on our list.
Their 14BH has a travel trailer bunk bed mattress so you can sleep four, though the bunk floorplan has the least amount of counter space.
The other two sleep two so it just depends on which you like the best as far as the floorplan.
Coachmen Viking 16SFB
Length: 18 feet 6 inches
Weight: 2783 pounds
We're not especially impressed with the quality of this one, but the price does reflect the materials used for this little trailer.
It's not the smallest camper with bathroom facilities on our list, but it does qualify! It does have great storage space for the size of the trailer.
And the price is a low one compared to the others, so this is a good budget pick if you're looking at small travel trailers with bathroom facilities.
So, do you think these are the 30 best small campers with bathroom facilities?
There's something here for you, and if not, let us know what you found otherwise in the comments.
Remember, these are all 19 feet long and shorter.

I dedicated myself to living the full-time RV life for over 6.5 years, immersing myself in the unique quirks and joys of the boondocking lifestyle and gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience along the way. In December 2020, my business partner and I made the transition to part-time RVing, but in January 2023, we hit the road once again, this time in our trusty vans. My mission is to help others embrace the RVing lifestyle with confidence and excitement, armed with the knowledge and resources needed to make the most of their adventures. I believe that the more you know, the more you can truly appreciate and enjoy the freedom and flexibility of the open road.
Thanks for the information most helpful in navigating what I can pull with bathroom.
Sure thing, Dany! There are others, too. Keep looking!
Great info. What do you think are the three best values for the money (cost relative to quality, features, etc) with no additional value given to a larger size.
Great question! All other things aside, if I factored in best value for the money, I’d go with any of the fiberglass trailers, used. They just don’t fall apart!
They hold their value so well, you often can buy one and sell it years later for just about the same price (or more, depending on the economy) if you kept if in good condition, and maintained it as one should.
So, Scamp, Escape, Bigfoot, and Casita. (Bigfoot is not listed, and now I’m not sure why, as they have a model under 19′ with a bathroom, the B17FB. Maybe I’ll add it in today. We wrote this years ago).
Hope that helps- just my opinion though. Everything is subjective!
Where do you place the 2022 E-Pro 20BHS model
Buying an RV means you must love the layout, among other things. The e-Pro trailers we listed were under 19′. The 20BHS is just fine long as you like the layout, brand, price, etc. If you haven’t already, we suggest getting inside one and hanging out with your family to see how it suits you. Good luck picking!
Another one to add to the list would be the Roulotte ProLite series. They have several models of small campers. Their lightest one that includes a toilet and shower weighs only 1390lbs. I was thinking about getting one, until I decided to get a motorhome instead.

10 Best Lightweight Travel Trailers For 2023
- RV Trailers and Motorhomes
Consider the GVWR (not the UVW)
Many RV manufacturers tout the UVW (unloaded vehicle weight) of their trailers. But adding cargo like fresh water, propane tank(s), food, clothing, bicycles, and other camping equipment to the trailer can add hundreds of pounds to that UVW number.
GVWR is the weight to know when buying a trailer for a lightweight truck or passenger car tow vehicle.
Knowing the GVWR of small campers is the key to safe towing on road or while off-the-grid camping. Now, let’s dive into our list of the best lightweight travel trailers for 2023.

On the one hand, the new 2023 Premier 33BKPR bunk room travel trailer with only 2 bunk beds in a private bedroom and a half bath inside the bunk room. The 2 slides-out of this camper are large and central, providing comfortable space for the cooking, dinette, and entertainment areas. # 7 Best Travel Trailers with NO Bunk Beds For 5 to 10 People
In recent conversations with RVers friends, we talked about the new RV floor plans for 2023 and compared some from 2022 , and they were saying, “ Show me a travel trailer without bunks “, and “ There must be travel trailers with no bunk beds ”. That’s right, bunk beds are not a good idea for couples who occasionally receive visitors. We can’t willingly add teenagers if we offer them to sleep on a bunk mat. Let’s face it.
Here, we have two options for 2023 travel trailers with no bunk beds. The new Alpha Wolf 28FKK-L travel trailer floor plan for 2023 , and the well-known Catalina Legacy Edition 343BHTS travel trailer with 2 queen bedrooms were rereleased in 2023 with little upgrades from previous years. Let’s check them out.
Best Travel Trailer Sleeps 5 No Bunk Beds: New 2023 Alpha Wolf 28FKK-L Floor Plan
Forest River RV recently introduced a new 2023 Alpha Wolf 28FKK-L travel trailer floor plan.
Inspired by its most popular travel trailer, the Cherokee Alpha Wolf 26DBH-L, a bunkhouse travel trailer with a queen-sized bed, Forest River presents a new travel trailer floorplan for 2023: The Alpha Wolf 28FKK-L travel trailer.
As we explained many other times, bunk beds are fine for kids. Still, the comfort may be limited, and it is more versatile for RV owners to have the area that a bunkhouse would occupy and unfold sofas and booth dinettes when needed to increase the sleeping capacity. It is a way to make an investment that does not require changing RV models to accommodate other floor plans needed to adjust to the age of the family members.
The new 2023 Alpha Wolf 28FKK-L travel trailer has a private master queen-size bedroom. In the center of the master bedroom is a queen-sized bed with plenty of room to walk around the bed and nightstands. The bedroom has direct access to the bathroom, and the area can be enclosed with solid doors, giving privacy to the rear of the RV.
The bathroom is significant and comfortable, with plenty of storage. The shower is in the corner of the bathroom (radius shower), with hard curved sliding glass doors and a skylight.
Something that we are going to highlight in this new travel trailer, Alpha Wolf 28FKK-L floorplan , is the walk-in pantry that allows having a well-organized and even more minimalist camper .
The kitchen in the corner of the travel trailer is spacious enough to prepare and cook meals. It is not an island kitchen, nor too big, but it has a good proportion according to the number of people that can sleep in this camper (sleeps 5). In addition, there is an outdoor kitchen , which complements very well with the qualities of this travel trailer designed for families or couples who want to host family and friends.
One of the reasons we chose this 2023 camper as one of the best travel trailers 2023 over others is the excellent value for the money (estimated price $39,500). Considering it is a travel trailer that sleeps 5, private rear bedroom, front kitchen, full dry bath with double and a radius shower, two slides-out, outside kitchen, two entry/exit doors, and an excellent length/weight ratio (under 9000 lbs. gross weight and less than 33 feet long), there is an excellent value for the money in this 2023 travel trailer .

'The Marvels' has 1 post-credits scene. Here's what it means for the future of the MCU.
- Warning: There are major spoilers ahead for the "Captain Marvel" sequel, "The Marvels."
- The scene reveals where Monica Rambeau ended up after she disappeared near the end of the movie.
- Monica's also joined by two notable Marvel characters.
If you head to the theater to watch " The Marvels ," the latest entry in phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you don't have to stick around too long for a tease of what's to come.
Director Nia DaCosta's follow-up to the 2019 movie " Captain Marvel " contains one post-credits scene that simultaneously ties up a loose end and leaves fans with even more questions.
In case you were left confused or curious to know more about the scene, we've got you covered.
What happens: Monica Rambeau wakes up in an alternate universe
Near the end of "The Marvels," villain Dar-Benn ( Zawe Ashton ) tears a hole in space-time that causes a different reality to bleed into theirs.
To fix it, Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) absorbs the energy of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel ( Brie Larson ) and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel ( Iman Vellani ) and flies to the hole to patch it up.
If you'll recall from the 2021 Disney+ series " WandaVision ," Monica's DNA was altered and she gained the ability to absorb energy, among other skills, after walking through Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch's ( Elizabeth Olsen ) hex.
As Monica's powers successfully repair the damage, she ignores Carol's warning that she could end up trapped if she doesn't leave in time. When the space-time tear closes, Monica disappears, stuck on the other side.
In the post-credits scene, Monica wakes up in a bed in a hospital-like room. She turns to her left and sees Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch). Except this isn't her parent who died from cancer during the time that Monica was blipped. This woman doesn't know her and is confused by Monica repeatedly calling her "mom."
"Mom, I've missed you so much," Monica says, shocked and overjoyed. "I'm so sorry."
Monica is interrupted by X-Men member Dr. Hank McCoy/Beast (played by returning "X-Men" star Kelsey Grammer) walking into the room wearing a lab coat and glasses, asking, "How's our mysterious visitor?"
"She seems a little disoriented," Lynch's character replies.
"Where are we? What happened?" Monica asks, concerned.
"We were hoping you could tell us. All we know is that Binary found you," Beast says, revealing the name of Lynch's character.
"My theory? You somehow crossed through a tear in space-time," he continues. "You are now in a reality parallel to your own, which is, of course, impossible."
Then, as Binary gets out of her seat, her blanket comes off and reveals a red and white superhero suit.
"Confusion is but the first step on the journey to knowledge," Beast tells Binary.
"Charles asked for an update," he adds, referencing X-Men leader Charles Xavier.
"I'll come by and check on you later," Beast says, exiting the room and leaving Monica with Binary. The X-Men logo on the lower right corner of the monitor and the signature X door nearby confirm that Monica has found herself with the popular Marvel mutants.
The two women look at each other before Binary asks, "Who are you?"
Monica, grasping what has happened, replies, "Shit."
What this means: The comic-book character Binary makes her live-action debut as the X-Men slowly integrate into the MCU
The appearance of Binary was first clocked by eagle-eyed fans who glimpsed a shot of her walking past Monica in the final trailer for "The Marvels," released on Monday night. Lynch's costume design is reminiscent of Binary's comic-book design.
In the Marvel comics, Binary was introduced in Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum's " Uncanny X-Men No. 164 ," published in the early '80s. In the source material, Carol transforms into Binary and works with the X-Men. A newer version of Binary was featured in a different comic-book run published in 2021 .
This isn't the first time Lynch has played a Captain Marvel variant in the MCU.
In Sam Raimi's 2022 film " Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ," Lynch played a version of Captain Marvel that Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) encountered when he met the Illuminati on Earth-838.
The inclusion of the "X-Men" in "The Marvels" post-credits scene is a natural progression in the MCU as the multiverse continues to unravel.
In addition to the Illuminati, helmed by Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) on Earth-838, the MCU also dropped another connection to the mutants on season one of the Disney+ series " Ms. Marvel ."
On the finale, Kamala learns that her DNA contains the mutant gene. This was the MCU's first overt acknowledgment of mutants, and there's plenty more to come since Disney acquired the rights to the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool back in 2019 .
The upcoming third "Deadpool" movie — the first installment to be part of the MCU — will star Ryan Reynolds as the titular anti-hero and Hugh Jackman reprising his role as the X-Men character Wolverine.
A long-gestating "Fantastic Four" reboot is also in the works, directed by Matt Shakman and expected to begin filming in London next year.
