Grammy-award-winning music trendsetter and icon SZA will continue her touring trek with four shows at The O2 this June. She’ll be joined by British pop sensation RAYE.
The 2023 tour follows SZA’s hugely successful sophomore album, SOS, which was released in December and earned the superstar the record for the largest streaming week for an R&B album in the United States. The album also claimed ten non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart - the most among albums by women in seven years. During the first run of the S.O.S. Tour earlier this year, SZA gave unforgettable performances night after night. The platinum recording artist performed classics like “Love Galore” and “The Weekend” in addition to newer mega-hits such as “Kill Bill,” and “Shirt.” Fans also got to experience special performances from a number of surprise guests including Phoebe Bridgers, Cardi B, Summer Walker, Lizzo and more.
The S.O.S. Tour marked SZA’s first-ever arena tour and earned the superstar endless praise, with Rolling Stone noting that “SZA lives up to all the anticipation” on opening night. The New York Times called her Madison Square Garden headlining debut “vigorous, confident, theatrical and intimate — the sort of show that manages the rare trick of feeling both vibrantly communicative and also protectively insular,” while Billboard proclaimed that the performance “delivered a message that she’s truly made a next-level step in her career.”
Born in St. Louis and raised in Maplewood, NJ, genre-defying, and GRAMMY Award winning recording artist SZA released her major label debut album Ctrl (TDE/RCA) in 2017. Revered for its raw and honest lyrics, it landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Albums chart, No. 2 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, according to Nielsen Music. The now RIAA-certified 3xPlatinum album received five Grammy nominations in 2018 and more than half the songs on Ctrl are currently certified multi-Platinum and Gold. Ctrl remains on the Billboard 200 chart since its release in 2017 and holds the record for the longest run for any Black female artist’s debut album. In 2022 alone it sold over 600,000 units and is the 10th best-selling female album this year in the country and 50th best-selling album in 2022 overall.
To close out the trying year of 2020, SZA gifted fans on Christmas Day with the hopeful track “Good Days.” Grammy-nominated for Best R&B Song, the single quickly became SZA’s greatest gaining solo single release, peaking at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and marking her first time in the chart’s top ten as the main artist. December 2021, SZA scored her second lead artist top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart with the official release of “I Hate U,” which debuted at #7. The song also entered at #1 on both Spotify and Apple Music US charts and broke the record for the most streamed R&B song by a female artist on Apple Music in its first week. Fan favorite “Shirt” has garnered over 60 million streams globally since its release in October.
On December 9, 2022, SZA released her long-awaited sophomore album SOS. Instantly and universally met with acclaim, SOS debuted and claimed ten non-consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200, the longest run for an album by a woman in seven years. Standout track “Kill Bill” is RIAA-certified 3x Platinum and earned the #1 spot on the Billboard Global 200 chart and several Apple Music and Spotify charts globally. Currently RIAA-certified 2x Platinum, SOS includes features by Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers and Ol’ Dirty Bastard; with production by Ctrl hitmaking collaborators ThankGod4Cody and Carter Lang, alongside Jeff Bhasker, Rob Bisel, Benny Blanco, Kenny “Babyface'' Edmonds, Emile Haynie, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Jay Versace, and more.
To this day, SZA continues to set the standard on creativity and songwriting, while shattering records with over 10 billion streams worldwide across all platforms. SZA has won various awards since the release of Ctrl including a 2022 GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat, Billboard Music Awards’ Top R&B Female Artist, BET Awards’ Best New Artist, BET Soul Train Awards’ Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and Best New Artist, MTV Video Music Awards’ Best Visual Effects for the “All The Stars'' with Kendrick Lamar, and NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding New Artist. In 2019, she won NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding Duo or Group for “All The Stars” with Kendrick Lamar and Outstanding Soundtrack/Compilation for the Black Panther Soundtrack. SZA also received Billboard’s 2019 Women in Music Rule Breaker award. More recently, SZA was crowned the 2023 Woman of the Year at the Billboard’s Women in Music Awards and won iHeart Radio Music Awards for R&B Artist of the Year and R&B Song of the Year for “I Hate U.”

As if British R&B fans didn’t have enough to be excited about with Beyoncé gracing our shores in 2023. Now, we’re being honoured with the arrival of another member of the R&B royal family, SZA, who’s extended her knock-out SOS tour to the UK.
After selling out 17 cities in North America, SZA, or Solána Imani Rowe, will be taking her tracks on the road this summer for 10 European shows. Starting in June, the singer has booked four performances in the UK which includes four nights at the O2 Arena.
The 33-year-old will be performing some of the new hits from her album SOS, including Kill Bill and Shirt, as well as diving back into her back catalogue of songs with the likes of The Weekend and Love Galore.
If that wasn’t exciting enough, she’ll also be joined by the young British songwriter RAYE, who we’re big fans of at RadioTimes.com , and who’s heading out on her own tour this winter. Plus, SZA has the incredible habit of surprising her fans with the arrival of a big name, in the past she’s seen the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Cardi B, Summer Walker and Lizzo join her mid-performance – so keep your eyes peeled!
As only her second album, the success of SOS is a testament to how talented a writer and performer SZA is. In 2013, the singer was signed to the record label Top Dawg Entertainment, and after just one year she was co-writing the song Feeling Myself with Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé. In 2016, she was featured on Rihanna's song Consideration and in 2018 she was nominated for an Oscar after collaborating with Kendrick Lamar on the Black Panther soundtrack.

Her own debut album Ctrl became the second longest-charting R&B album by a woman in history and even earned her a spot on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list. So yeah, she’s a pretty awesome woman.
Now, she’s taking her latest album on tour, which by the way claimed 10 non-consecutive weeks at No.1 on the Billboard 200 chart – so you’d be mad to miss her. Here’s how you can grab a ticket.

Co-op Live has partnered with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to offer free tram and bus travel to and from the new area for all event ticket holders.
The groundbreaking initiative, which has been announced today , is the first of its kind in the UK.
Travel on the Metrolink and new city centre shuttle buses via the Bee Network will be included in all arena event tickets during the brand-new venue’s opening season from 20 April to 30 June 2024 as part of the just-announced initiative.
Under the new venue-funded initiative, fans will be able to use the Metrolink from four hours before, and up to four hours after (depending on the timing of each show ) shows with a valid arena event ticket.
Co-op Live and @beenetwork are very pleased to announce a ground-breaking, first of its kind initiative which will see travel on trams and new city centre shuttle buses included in all arena event tickets from 20 April to 30 June 2024 🎟️🚊 Find out more👇 https://t.co/nZlSwOPeQK pic.twitter.com/Eh9zQqAHgB — Co-op Live (@TheCoopLive) March 14, 2024
This will apply all four zones of the Metrolink, which should therefore allow people to travel at a time that’s most convenient to them – especially following the recent introduction of trams every six minutes all-day from Monday to Saturday, and later trams on a Friday and Saturday, too.
On top of this, Co-op Live and TfGM will also be introducing a city centre shuttle bus service.
The number of shuttle buses available will vary by event profile, according to Co-op Live, with a maximum of 10 buses per show deparing from Joe Mercer Way at the Etihad Campus and arriving at Piccadilly Gardens .
Bosses at the Bee Network and the state-of-the-art new venue – which is set to not only be the biggest in the UK, but in Europe – say including tram and shuttle bus travel with all event tickets will help to ensure fans can make a “quick and easy getaway at the end of the night”, no matter whether they’re heading back home or into Manchester city centre to enjoy further attractions.
“We are dedicated to ensuring easy and accessible transport links to and from Co-op Live,” commented Gary Roden, who is the Executive Director and General Manager of Co-op Live, as the new transport offer was announced.
“We are delighted to be working with TfGM to offer this inclusive service for our fans for opening season.
“Coupled with the planning application submitted for a new ‘CityLink’ walking route from the city centre to the Etihad Campus, we are further demonstrating our commitment to the environment by encouraging more sustainable transport choices, and providing additional neighbour-friendly options to support increased footfall across East Manchester.”
To claim travel across the network, all fans must be in possession of a valid event ticket – which they will need to show on request.

The AO Arena in Manchester has finally unveiled its new VIP bar and restaurant, The Mezz, as part of its £50m redevelopment.
The luxurious new space promises to elevate the gig-going experience with five-star hospitality before, during and after every show at the huge venue.
There’s the restaurant space, of course, where the menu of modern British cuisine has been worked on by Simon Rogan MBE (of three-Michelin star L’Enclume) and Tom Barnes (of soon-to-open Skof in Manchester).
The pair will be working on quarterley seasonal dishes, which currently includes a roast rump of Herdwick lamb with onions and split pea; and a lightly-set jasmine cream with white chocolate and rose for dessert.
And members of The Mezz will gain priority reservation access to restaurants across the UMBEL portfolio, which are among the best and most sought-after tables in the world.
Then across the way from the restaurant is The Mezz bar, where there’s a menu packed with signature cocktails, fine wines and champagnes.
The bar area remains open throughout every gig – so no more scrambling to get served in the main arena bars.
There’s no rush to leave either. The Mezz bar remains open for several hours after the curtain falls, with DJs providing post-show entertainment.
Once you’ve eaten and drank your fill and are ready for the show, you can head up a short flight of stairs and find yourself in prime position in the AO Arena .
With plush best-in-house seats and a clear view straight-on to the stage, The Mezz’s audience experience is sure to set a new gold standard for arenas everywhere.
The new hospitality area sits between the new concourse and the 23,000-capacity arena bowl.
VIPs who have already tested it out include Brian McFadden, Jorgie Porter, Rachel Lugo and Peter Hook, who all attended a glittering red carpet launch night and watched Niall Horan perform.
Member perks include guaranteed attendance for all shows at the AO Arena, direct access to the arena bowl, early access via a dedicated VIP entrance, dedicated parking, all-inclusive food and drink, a private cocktail bar, a private dedicated table in the restaurant and personalised service including a cloakroom boasting the latest in venue technology, members app and portal, and dedicated host service. Pretty fancy.
But of course, all this luxury comes at a price. Memberships for The Mezz start from £3,500 – that gets you access to 10 shows and The Mezz Bar (for 10 shows with The Mezz Dining it’s £4,000).
And if you want to really soak in all the action with a 50-show membership, that’s £8,500 for the bar or £12,500 for the restaurant.
You can find out more about The Mezz in Manchester and memberships here and follow The Mezz on Instagram here .

Dua Lipa , Coldplay and SZA are headlining Glastonbury 2024 , with country-pop legend Shania Twain taking the Legends’ slot.
The line-up poster also reveals that LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz, Cyndi Lauper, and Janelle Monae are set to play the Pyramid Stage in the afternoon and evening slots, while other artists to take the main stage include Burna Boy, PJ Harvey, Michael Kiwanuka, and Paloma Faith .
Meanwhile, rock band Idles and The National will join The Streets, Camila Cabello, Avril Lavigne, and Two Door Cinema Club on the Other Stage, while West Holts will see performances from Jessie Ware, Jungle, Black Pumas, and the Sugababes.
General sale tickets for the annual event, which takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset between 26 and 30 June, sold out within an hour when they were released in November last year.
If you’re still keen to make it to the festival this year, however, there are other ways to secure your spot.
For starters, there’s the annual Glastonbury resale, which takes place in April. The number of tickets put up for resale depends on how many people did not pay the full amount, after putting down their deposits in November.
Last year, resale tickets sold out in seven minutes, so you need to make sure you’re organised in advance – and that includes being registered.
Dua Lipa is headlining Glastonbury Festival
Glastonbury organisers urge fans to purhcase tickets only through official festival channels to avoid scams or unexpected charges.
If you manage to bag yourself resale tickets, you must pay for them in full at the point of booking: £355 plus a £5 booking fee for standard tickets.

A date for the 2024 Glastonbury resale next month has yet to be announced.
Besides the general resale, Glastonbury has also opened a prize draw to raise money for charities supporting people affected by conflict. There are just 20 tickets available, and the draw is open until 12pm GMT on 28 March.
Money raised from the prize draw will go towards the British Red Cross, Oxfam, and War Child.
Another great option for fans hoping to make it into Glastonbury is by volunteering. Registration to volunteer for charities WaterAid and Oxfam have closed, but spaces do occasionally become available if people drop out.
Registration is still open to volunteer with Greenpeace: anyone who is selected will be granted free entry to the festival and three meals a day. In return, you are expected to work a minimum of five eight-hour shifts during the festival between 25 June to 1 July.

Glastonbury 2024 makes history as line-up revealed
Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA will headline Glastonbury 2024, it has been announced.
Country pop superstar Shania Twain will perform the Sunday afternoon "legends slot" on the festival's famous Pyramid Stage.
Glastonbury organisers announced the line-up for this summer's event today after months of speculation.
With stars including Little Simz, Avril Lavigne, Jessie Ware, Janelle Monae, Cyndi Lauper, PJ Harvey and Camila Cabello on the bill alongside Dua Lipa , SZA and Twain , it is a line-up filled with female acts - and the first time ever that two out of the three headline performers will be women.
For Lipa, 28, it will be her Pyramid Stage debut - and comes fresh off the back of Brits and Grammys performances earlier this year, and the day after she revealed details of her first new album in four years.
"FRIDAY NIGHT PYRAMID STAGE HEADLINE!!!!," the star posted on Instagram. "I have dreamt of this moment all my life. Something that lived only in my wildest dreams and highest manifestations !!! I am so excited to see you all in my favourite place on earth and make it a night to remember!!"
'Another jewel in my crown'
It will also be a debut for US star SZA, who is "quite possibly the hottest hip-hop/ R&B act on the planet", organisers said, while for Coldplay the 2024 slot means they become the first act to lead the bill five times, having headlined previously in 2002, 2005, 2011 and 2016.
They will move ahead of The Cure, who they previously jointly held the record with.
Five-time Grammy-winning Canadian star Twain, who has sold more than 100 million records and is best known for hits including Man! I Feel Like A Woman!, You're Still The One, and That Don't Impress Me Much, shared a video post on Instagram saying she was getting her wellies, raincoat and cowboy hat ready.
"Another jewel in my crown!" she wrote. "I feel so honoured and so excited about this one! Thinking about what to wear already... Let's make history this summer with this ultimate dream performance."
The strong female line-up comes after organisers were criticised for having all-male headliners last year, with Arctic Monkeys, Guns 'N' Roses and Sir Elton John, performing his last-ever UK gig , topping the bill.
Which other acts have been announced?
Other performers confirmed for this year include Idles, LCD Soundsystem, Michael Kiwanuka, Disclosure, The National, Burna Boy, Bloc Party, Jungle and Keane.
The Streets, Olivia Dean, Paloma Faith, Anne-Marie, Nia Archives, Ghetts, Orbital, Two Door Cinema Club, Sampha, Bombay Bicycle Club, Nothing But Thieves, Sugababes, Fontaines DC, Arlo Parks and Brits rising star winners The Last Dinner Party are also on the bill.

Little Simz, who is among the acts announced for the Pyramid Stage, shared the Glastonbury poster and said: "The one and only festival I'll be at this summer. On the Pyramid, on the farm. Big big glasto you knowwww what a wow. See you there."
"Worthy Farm. We're coming back!" Sugababes shared alongside a "We're playing Glastonbury" poster, while Avril Lavigne, who will perform on the Other Stage, shared a similar post and told fans: "England see you in June!"
"Super excited to announce we will be playing Glastonbury this summer," said Jungle. "Can't wait to see you all there."
D-Block Europe, Headie One, Jamie XX, Gossip, Sleaford Mods, London Grammar, Yard Act and Declan McKenna also feature on the line-up.
Sharing the news, organiser Emily Eavis said there would be "even more to come over the coming weeks".
And with the festival known for pulling off surprises, no doubt there will be a few secret acts to be found when the festival takes place.
Tickets for this year's Glastonbury were snapped up in under an hour when they went on sale in November. A resale of any cancelled or returned tickets is expected at some time in April.
The event, which hosts more than 3,000 acts and around 200,000 people on site, will take place from 26-30 June.
NEWS... BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
Fans of Noughties pop band furious after ticket prices slashed due to poor sales
Share this with
It’s been a strange week for The Jonas Brothers – and for their fans – as ticket prices for recent concerts were unexpectedly slashed at the last minute.
The pop rock trio of Joe, Nick, and Kevin – who broke out after their appearances on the Disney Channel in the 2000s – are currently on tour in Australia.
But apparently things haven’t quite been going to plan , with ticket prices for one of the band’s concert in Sydney reportedly being slashed after disappointing sales.
The tour was announced in July, with tickets costing anything from $80 (AUD), equivalent to roughly £40, to almost $1,000 (£514) in special cases.
However, moments before the tour’s opening night in Sydney at the Qudos Bank Arena, it’s alleged that tickets were given away for free, allowing some fans entry for nothing after devotees had already shelled out hundreds to get in.
The move was apparently made after numerous tickets failed to sell before opening night, with high prices cited as one of the reasons why fans didn’t hand their cash over.
TikTok user and Jonas Brothers obsessive Nat McLennan said that tickets originally priced at $250AUD (£128) were suddenly being given away for less than half that in a bid to get concert-goers into the arena.
She said in a video: ‘If you guys didn’t know – and you probably didn’t because the marketing was s**t – the Jonas Brothers are in Australia right now. Of course I knew this, being a lifelong fan. I got my tickets in presale.
‘But the band’s management but two shows in Sydney and Melbourne and they didn’t sell out, so now it’s the week of the concert, and some of those tickets were free 10 minutes before the show on Friday night.’
@annaoop98 do you reckon they are actually brothers ♬ original sound – and i oop
Nat continued: ‘My ticket that I bought for $250AUD, in general admission standing, is now $80AUD (£41).’
However, some fans offered alternate theories, with some suggesting that the Jonas Brothers name isn’t as big in Australia as it used to be, while others theorised that recent tours there by Taylor Swift and Pink might have harmed their sales.
Another TikTok user, Jayne, commented: ‘Jonas Brothers were one I was like “Ooh would like to see”, but then the prices were so high. If prices had started this low, I reckon they would have sold out.’
Meanwhile, another video uploaded to the social media website by Annabelle Ryan showed a ‘complimentary offer’ standing ticket that was listed at $0.00 on the Australian ticketing website Ticketek.
On the same website as of Monday, March 4, numerous seats are still available for the band’s upcoming concerts in Brisbane and Melbourne. However, all available tickets are being sold at $150 (£77).
Meanwhile, Joe Jonas’ ex-wife Sophie Turner has been busy moving on from the singer after the pair finalised their divorce during the autumn of 2023.
In recent photos, the Game of Thrones actress, 28, was seen with rumoured new boyfriend Peregrine Pearson in Paris and London, while also showing off a recent skiing holiday in the French Alps.
Metro.co.uk has contacted the Jonas Brothers’ management and Ticketek for further clarification.
