Jason Aldean Extends Highway Desperado Tour, Announces 2024 Tour Dates

Jason Aldean revealed plans for the 2024 leg of his Highway Desperado Tour on Monday with support acts including Hailey Whitters and Lauren Alaina in select cities as well as Chase Matthew, Austin Snell, and Dee Jay Silver for all dates.

“My first-ever tour was with this guy!” Lauren Alaina commented on Instagram. “I was 16 years old 🥹 I cannot wait to be back out. Thank you, Jason. ❤️”

Chase Matthew added: “This is a dream come true to tour with you! - thank you for the opportunity 🙌🙌🙌🔥🔥🔥”

The 24 new dates come on the heels of the more than 40 headlining shows Aldean sold out on the tour's first leg in 2023.

The 2024 extension of the Highway Desperado Tour will start May 18 at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, OK, and make stops in U.S. cities, including Savannah, Ga., Philadelphia, Pa., Greenville, S.C. and more before concluding the tour in his hometown of Macon, Ga., at the new Macon Amphitheater on October 5.

In addition, Aldean will headline several festivals and co-headline the 2024 Rock the Country festival tour.

Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Friday, December 1, at JasonAldean.com, with select markets on sale at a later date. For a complete list of timing and dates, visit JasonAldean.com .

And a new tour isn’t all Aldean had to share on Monday. He also revealed his new song, “Let Your Boys Be Country,” is now on country radio.

Country star Jason Aldean announced tour dates in conjunction with his most recent album, Highway Desperado . The new shows are set at large-scale venues across North America from July into early October of 2024.

Joining Jason for the new concerts will be Hailey Whitters, Lauren Alaina, Chase Matthew, Austin Snell, and / or Dee Jay Silver on select dates. Aldean also has a handful of festival performances lined up.

Jason Aldean will be hitting the road this summer and fall.

On Saturday (May 15), the country music star shared news of his upcoming U.S. tour during his socially distanced show as part of the Concerts on the Farm series on the Bonnaroo festival site in Manchester, Tenn.

“It’s been emotional being back on stage with my band for the first time in a year this weekend,” Aldean said. “It’s made us all even more ready to get back to life as we all know it. Being on the road makes all of us — the band, the crew and me — happy and I haven’t felt this excited about going on tour in 15 years.”

Aldean’s forthcoming Back in the Saddle Tour 2021 launches Aug. 5 at the Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Va., and wraps Oct. 30 at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Fla.

Special guests on select dates of the Live Nation-produced trek will include HARDY , Lainey Wilson and Dee Jay Silver . Tickets go on sale to the general public on May 21 at jasonaldean.com .

Last month, Aldean shared his enthusiasm for returning to the stage after the yearlong COVID-19 pandemic concert freeze.

“You could’ve asked me to play a gas station at this point and I would say yes,” the singer wrote on his website when announcing the Bonnaroo Farm gigs. “So being able to set up the full show with all the band guys plugged in is going to make for a really good time. We’re going to turn it up — there’s nobody out there to bother — and make up for some lost time, for sure.”

Jason Aldean has announced on his Instagram that his upcoming tour, Highway Desperado, will continue into 2024. Supporting his latest album release,  Highway Desperado , Jason Aldean has announced he’ll be hitting the road in 2024 to continue with 24 additional dates for the Highway Desperado Tour. Supporting the tour for a variety of dates include Lauren Alaina, Hailey Whitters, Chase Matthew, Austin Snell, and Dee Jay Silver. 

The Highway Desperado Tour is supporting Aldean’s latest record, Highway Desperado, released this month featuring the singles “Try That in a Small Town” and “Let Your Boys Be Country.”

Jason Aldean Announces 2021 'Back In The Saddle Tour': See The Dates

Jason Aldean is hitting the road, and he’s bringing some friends along for the ride!

This Saturday (May 15), the “We Back” crooner announced his upcoming “Back in the Saddle Tour” will be primed to take off late this summer. Aldean will kick off the months-long trek at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in August, and will conclude in October at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida.

What's more, Hardy and Lainey Wilson will join Aldean in concert on select dates.

“It’s been emotional being back onstage with my band for the first time in a year this weekend,” the “Got What I Got” performer said in a press release. "It’s made us all even more ready to get back to life as we all know it. Being on the road makes all of us — the band, the crew, and me — happy, and I haven’t felt this excited about going on tour in 15 years."

Tickets for “2021 Back in the Saddle Tour” go on sale Friday (May 21) at 10 a.m. local time, with a pre-sale for Citi cardholders beginning on Tuesday (May 18).

Jason Aldean and Kid Rock are hitting the back roads.

On Monday, the country musicians announced they will join forces for the Rock the Country tour, where they'll be headlining seven "small town" festivals across the United States from April through July 2024.

Appearing at the top of the bill for all seven stops from are Aldean, 46, and Kid Rock, 52, who will be joined by the likes of Miranda Lambert , Hank Williams Jr., Lynyrd Skynyrd, and others at select dates.

“Rock the Country is for everyone who makes this country run and loves America. Nobody knows how to party like Small Town America,” Kid Rock said in a release.

Rock the Country will be making stops in Kentucky, Alabama and South Carolina, with the seven-stop tour commencing in Louisiana on April 5 and 6. All seven stops will feature two days of performances. Other acts taking the stage at various shows include Travis Tritt, Lee Brice, Nelly , Warren Zeiders, Big and Rich ft. Gretchen Wilson, Randy Houser, Uncle Kracker, and more.

We are passionate about curating an event that combines top-tier musical talent with the charm of small-town America, and we can't wait for fans to join us on this historic musical journey,” Nathan Baugh, president of 46 Entertainment, shared in a release.

“Rock the Country is more than just a festival; it's a celebration of music, community, and the shared love for country music that binds us all together," continued Baugh.

Presale tickets for the tour will be available Thursday, while public sale begins Friday.

The festival run comes on the heels of controversies from both Aldean and Kid Rock.

Originally released in May, Aldean's chart-topping track "Try That in a Small Town" drew criticism over the summer from listeners who accused the singer of encouraging violence and racism with the song's lyrics. Aldean also filmed its music video at the site of a 1927 lynching in his town of Columbia, Tennessee.

Speaking to CBS Mornings this past month, Aldean argued that "there was people of all color doing stuff in the video."

"There was white people in there. There was Black people. I mean, this video did not shine light on one specific group and say, 'That's the problem.' And anybody that saw that in the video, then you weren't looking hard enough in the video, is all I can tell you," he said.

The musician also addressed the video's filming location of the Maury County Courthouse, where 18-year-old Black man Henry Choate was lynched nearly 100 years before. As Aldean explained, he wasn't aware of the history of the building when he filmed the clip, and he would "probably not" film there again.

"But also, I don’t think, again, I’m not gonna go back 100 years and check on the history of this building," he said. "If you’re in the south, you could probably go to any small-town courthouse — you’re going to be hard-pressed to find one that hasn't had some sort of racial issue over the years at some point. I mean, that’s just a fact."

Despite the controversy, Aldean defended his intentions releasing the song, adding that he would "do it over again, every time ... minus the setting, knowing what I know now, obviously, you know, knowing that that was gonna be a thing."

"I know what the intentions were behind the location, the video, the song, all of it. And, you know, and I stand by all that," he said.

As for Kid Rock, the "All Summer Long" singer received backlash earlier this year after he went viral for shooting cases of Bud Light with a semi-automatic rifle. The clip came shortly after the beverage brand tapped influencer Dylan Mulvaney for a sponsored video, which prompted both transphobic and hateful rhetoric from conservative social media personalities.

Jason Aldean announced that after 40+ sold out headlining shows in 2023, he’ll be hitting the road again in 2024, extending his Highway Desperado Tour starting May 18th at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, OK. The tour features special guests Hailey Whitters and Lauren Alaina in select cities as well as Chase Matthew, Austin Snell, and Dee Jay Silver across all dates.

Aldean will also headline several festivals and co-headline the 2024 Rock the Country festival tour in addition to the newly added 2024 Highway Desperado Tour dates.

Jason Aldean was on stage performing Sunday at the CMT Music Awards, and a couple of years ago that would not have been anything beyond normal.

But Aldean’s singing of “Let Your Boys Be Country,” came less than a year after CMT pulled his “Try That In A Small Town” from its airwaves amid the controversy that surrounded the song and the video that accompanied it.

And the fact that Aldean performed seemed to surprise his fans on social media.

“Ironic (Jason Aldean) performs despite the (CMT) network banned a controversial video of his!” one account on X, formerly Twitter, posted.

“IDK what to do,” another person wrote on X. “We are boycotting CMT but now you are performing at the award show. Tell us all why you are performing for someone who behaved horribly to you and all of country music. Please.”

While there were obviously some fans who couldn’t make his appearance make sense, there seemed to be plenty who enjoyed the performance as well.

Check the comments on the video of the performance that CMT posted, below, and there are many showing approval.

The “Try That In A Small Town” video, which has been called “pro-lynching” and racist, was removed by CMT from its rotation shortly after its release last year, and the network never said much about that.

The “Try That In A Small Town” video contains multiple clips of protesters clashing with police and welcomes folks who might “cuss out a cop” or “spit in his face” or “stomp on the flag and light it up” to “try that in a small town” and “see how far you make it down the road.”

Alden has also been accused of using pro-racist imagery on Tik Tok to promote the video.

The singer addressed it all at least several times over during concerts in the weeks that followed.

“I love our country,” he said. “I want to see it restored to what it once was before all of this (expletive) started happening to us. I love my country, I love my family and I will do anything to protect that, I can tell you that right now.”

The crowd ate it up and broke into a “USA” chant.

Aldean went on to blame the backlash on “cancel culture.”

“You guys know how it is this day and age, cancel culture is a thing,” he said. “That’s something that if people don’t like what you say, they try and make sure that they can cancel you which means try and ruin your life, ruin everything.

“One thing I saw this week was a bunch of country music fans that can see through a lot of the (expletive),” he continued. “I saw country music fans rally like I’ve never seen country music fans rally before and it was pretty bad ass to watch.”

Months After Ban, CMT Rolls Out Welcome Wagon for Jason Aldean

Less than a year ago, CMT pulled Jason Aldean ‘s controversial “Try That in a Small Town” music video, ostensibly because the song dealt in white-power tropes and the clip featured footage shot in a place where a Black man was once lynched. Reps for the network didn’t comment at the time on the ban other than that the video would no longer air, so the motives for removing the video perhaps remain unclear. Now the network is welcoming the singer back with open arms.

Aldean will perform “Let Your Boys Be Country” this weekend on the CMT Music Awards, which airs live on CBS at 8 p.m ET on April 7. The event will take place at Austin’s Moody Center.
