Poor Complaints Proceedure

We booked a villa through this company last year. The booking process was fine and general communication was OK. During our stay we had our sleep disturbed by smoke alarms beeping (new batteries needed), were rudely awakened by the visit of workmen (not notified) and had to put up with the showers going cold at times. The villa was advertised to sleep 10, our party was only 5, so this shouldn't have been an issue. There were other issues too, so I made a formal complaint upon our return. Agni Travel didn't handle my complaint well. I had to chase them for an initial reply, which when received, didn't address the issues raised, in my opinion. I tried a second time but again didn't get any satisfaction.

Spotlessly Clean Villa Appointed To A Very High Standard.

We find the Agni Website easy to use and the villas are usually to a very high standard. Villa Aris in Corfu was spotlessly clean and very well appointed with loads of kitchen utensils and appliances. There was also a lovely shaded BBQ and sitting area beside the swimming pool. The view from the balcony across to Albania wasn't too bad either. The owner was very friendly and helpful as well.

Great villa, top service

Timely comms and clear instructions. No hidden charges/fees, plus they were always there when we needed them. The villa itself was amazing - top location, superb condition, spacious, comfy, and lavish. Would certainly trust them again.

Excellent Villa

We were a family of ten including four children. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Katerina. The villa was well located and was comfortable both inside and out with a fantastic view over the bay to Corfu town. The property managers were friendly and helpful. Several good tavernas were a short walk away and there were also shops nearby. The beaches were also only walking distance from the villa and there were regular buses which stopped a few minutes walk away.

Great experience overall

Great experience overall. Agni Travel was responsive. Villa Ersi is a great brand new Villa. Looks as advertised and was absolutely great. Upon asking, we were offered free extended check out which we really appreciated having small kids and 4pm flight. Highly recommend both the Ersi Villa as well as Agni travel.

Villa Halima Alexandros, where dreams become true.

Absolutely fantastic Villa, located in a very convenient area close to all amenities in Latchi and Polis. The Villa is large and roomy where everybody can move around in comfort and the same applies outside at the pool, loads of space. The interior and exterior of this Villa is tended to by really great people, easy to deal with with Alex and his wife doing a wonderful job on the amazing grounds and spacious pool. The interior is kept spotless and bedding and towels changed at times when needed and all this is done without any inconvenience to the guests. Overall a top class Villa with top class staff who make sure your stay is memorable. Booked for next year and can't wait to return to this delightful Villa. Thank you to all concerned.

We could not fault Villa Psaropouli!

Our family recently had the pleasure of staying at Villa Psaropouli during June into July, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, George, Michael and Fortini went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be. They were so welcoming, kind and lovely! We could not fault any part of our stay. The pool was huge and great for our family - the children couldn’t get enough of it. The local tavernas and the beach were beautiful too. We cannot thank George enough for making our holiday extra memorable. We will definitely be returning next year to make more amazing memories!

Amazing villa with an outstanding pool view!

I really enjoyed my stay in Villa Beach Heaven. The local people that welcomed us were really hospitable, location was great, the pool was outstanding and we were able to enjoy a night swim with a spectacular view. Furthermore, the company helped us with transfer suggestions for our arrival and departure, which made the whole trip better because we did not want to hire a car. I hope I will be able to book via Agni Travel again.

We had a lovely two week stay at villa la torre. Many happy hours were spent enjoying the fabulous pool & relaxing under the shade of the olive trees. We seek convenience & privacy & Villa La Torre delivered. If you did encounter a problem or just need advice the staff at Agni travel are there to help. They were a pleasure to deal with. We look forward to coming back in the near future.

The villa was excellent

The villa was excellent, and handily located in the middle of an orchard growing oranges tangerines lemons and pink grapefruit, to which we were told we could help ourselves. So we had fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice daily and made lemonade. Any issues were minor and dealt with swiftly and effectively. We were also fairly close to Polis, the Old Town part is charming, and has several good restaurants, just outside that area is The Herb Garden restaurant which is also well worth a visit. We were a short drive from Aphrodite's bath and trail, in the Akamas National park and they were an ideal place to visit when the day was not too hot.

Had a great stay in Turkey

Had a great stay in Turkey. Like some other reviews booked on VRBO to find out it was via Agni. No issues with the bookings or any payments. Had to contact them during holiday as electric went out across the town but villa power did not come back on. One call and the owner and electrician straight out and sorted the issue. Villa was as described. So no issues.

Villa Thalassa

Lovely villa, I agree with previous reviews regarding needing an update. However, any minor issues were quickly addressed by Hassan from Agni Travel. Location is perfect, nice 1km walk into the harbour, private beach 5 mins and all other attractions a small drive away. Hiring a car is easy with Petrides which is a 25 min walk away. Lovely holiday and would highly recommend

A great travel firm to deal with

We have used Agni Travel several times for holidays in Cephalonia and Cyprus. Our most recent booking was to Sun Beach Villa Tria in Polis, Cyprus. Agni Travel's properties have always been good value and well appointed. The descriptions are accurate and the photos provided are very helpful. Agni Travel are always quick to help and to respond to any question. We would wholeheartedly recommend using them.

Easy and reliable booking process

Agni travel representatives kept us well informed about the booking and answered our questions promptly. We felt confident that they would be on hand to resolve any issues with the property. Not that we had any issues, as the property was lovely and just as we expected from the description

Do not use. Card charged despite cancellation

We cancelled our booking with Agni travel as we saw some truly terrible reviews about the company on review.io. We forfeited our 20% deposit and Agni Travel have ignored the cancellation and taken the 80% balance. No idea how they have my card details but they are now not responding to emails requesting reimbursement. I've reported them for fraud. Do not use this company.

Villa Maro - Crête

The rental was really good. The place is clean and well maintained. The pool and outdoor space are very cozy and inviting. It was very quiet when we went there, not a sound in the evening! The house is well located for exploring the whole left side of the island. Very good service and responsiveness from the on-site staff and support team. Nice location!

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

Agni Cottage

Corfu , Greece

Part of the Simply Simpson collection

The simple things in life often give the greatest pleasure and we believe our Simply Simpson Collection offers the chance to experience a more authentic taste of local living in some of the most idyllic locations in the Mediterranean. Take time to discover our comfortable, no-frills accommodation and join us on the road less travelled. Simply Simpson

  • Floor plans
  • Charming, romantic cottage
  • On Agni water's edge
  • Comfortable and cosy
  • Walking distance to tavernas

A scattering of houses follow the curve of Agni's charming white pebble beach; wooden jetties run into translucent water, perfect for snorkelling or hiring a little boat, and three excellent family tavernas serve vegetables grown in their gardens and fish caught in local bays. This is quintessential Greece. Here, guests at Agni Cottage can relax in a hammock on a shaded terrace right by the shore. Lovingly restored by its owners, this simple but comfortable property built in 1898 has all modern amenities and the thick walls, old photographs and embroideries enhance the charm and character of the cottage.

Our accommodation in Agni Cottage was wonderful. Excellent location in a busy bay with some very good and varied tavernas close by. Water access by small boat and water taxis was also very easy. The 'Simpson Travel' experience for us was first class. All very efficient and they made the whole holiday booking process very easy. The resort rep (Anna Demote) was excellent, with good local knowledge and was very easy to contact. Would highly recommend them.

Mrs Joanna Swainsbury, September 2023

Brilliant R&R for both of us. Perfect place to just let the world roll by for a few days. Lovely people. Tavernas on the doorstep, water at your feet! Special place. Long may the magic work.

Jo and Elios, September 2023

Wonderful location, wonderful accommodation, charming hosts. It’s difficult to imagine a better holiday experience. Thanks to all. We will return.

Brigit and John, July 2023

We have just returned from an idyllic week at Agni Cottage. The property is beautiful inside and out, it’s small but with everything you could possibly need and in a perfect location on the shore of the bay. We enjoyed eating on the terrace, reading in the hammock, listening to the sea, snorkelling in the bay, walking along the coastal path, watching the boats come in and out and sampling the many delights of the local tavernas. Nicolas was our favourite. It is a lively bay and the boardwalk to the tavernas/beach/coastal path is directly in front of the property so lots of passers by, perfect for people watching.

Remy Jaudun, July 2023

Because we have been coming to Agni cottage for so long it is difficult to say anything new. We have returned every year because it is such a unique place. However, having met people who are staying in different places eg The Saints, I realise that the cottage may not be ideal for everyone. But if you don’t mind the lack of privacy and enjoy being part of the bay community there is nowhere comparable. It is my ‘happy place’ and I cannot wait to return.

Michael Weston, June 2023

We stayed 10 days in this most beautiful house here on Agni beach. Louise had a good style in the house and we had fun and felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. We are looking forward to coming again.

Tina and Ore, May 2023

A very pleasurable experience. The reps were friendly, helpful, readily available and accommodating at all times. We look forward to a return visit using Simpson Travel.

Col & Sandy Brooks-Johnson, May 2023

Lovely villa, really enjoyed it. Fantastic terrace and extremely comfortable, hope to come back.

Paul and Sue, August 2022

We had another lovely holiday at Agni Cottage. It was so nice to be back, to be able to relax in beautiful surroundings and to look at the view across the sea. Jackie was superb as usual & managed to get some extra groceries for our arrival which we would have struggled to locate ourselves.

Barbara Pearman, August 2022

What an amazing place to stay. Quiet enough to completely chill out and relax. Busy enough to keep you entertained all day people and boat watching. Welcoming tavernas, great food, friendly people. Thank you for letting us stay in this truly special place.

L & J, July 2022

There is nowhere quite like Agni Cottage - close enough to the sea to hear its murmur and yet perfectly positioned so that you can watch the world go by from the comfort of you hammock. What is not to love and return for year after year!

Beatrice Teuten, July 2022

How much we had looked forward to our 2022 return. As easy as slipping on favourite shoes, Agni is a beautiful allowing us to relax in our would-be second home! Thank you to Jackie our concierge and Louise for keeping Agni cottage as perfect as ever. We will be back.

Catriona & Jamie, July 2022

A truly wonderful cottage. We had seen it many times from the sea and walked past it on many occasions. To have finally stayed here was adream come true and we have enjoyed ourselves so much.

Keith and Jane, June 2022

First saw this lovely cottage some 30 years ago and always promised ourselves we would return to stay and now here we are. It has not disappointed us!

John and Lesley, June 2022

First time with Simpson Travel and will definitely be using them in the future.

Lesley Devis, May 2022

Just returned from our second holiday at Agni Cottage. We fell in love with Corfu and discovered Agni Bay three years ago and it’s been a very long two years waiting to get back due to Covid! Simpson Travel was as efficient and helpful as. Agni Cottage is perfect in every way, as gardeners the simple task of watering and deadheading the flowers each day was as demanding as any holiday activity needed to be for us! We swam in that inviting sea every day and enjoyed the most delicious food and service at Agni Taverna, Toulas and Nikolas Taverna. Thanks also to Spiros for providing Jamie with his essential paddle boards! The boat watching was as fascinating as per our previous visit, this time we thankfully remembered the binoculars. With everything we needed literally a stone’s throw away we didn’t travel much, although a first night sea taxi (thank you, Agni Boats) to The White House at Kalami got our holiday off to the perfect start. A week goes too quickly but it was the healing and reviving week we had so longed for and it was perfect. Booked for next year already, thank you Simpson and to the marvellous Agni Cottage owners.

Jamie and Catherine, August 2021

We had such a lovely, relaxing holiday at Agni Cottage. We spent a lot of time just chilling out and admiring the beautiful view. We went swimming most days which was extremely pleasant. The staff in the three Tavernas along the beach are immensely friendly and helpful . We hired a boat one day from Agni Boats. We then set off to explore the nearby bays, each one charmingly attractive. The Simpson’s rep, Diane was immensely kind and helpful, with an in-depth knowledge of the Island that was invaluable. Simpson Travel offer a wonderful service. Everyone is so helpful and patient right from initial enquirers to the actual holiday. It always seems as if nothing is too much trouble and they have made each holiday we’ve had with them both special and memorable.

Mr & Mrs Neville Pearman, September 2019

We’ve had another lovely fortnight at Agni Cottage again. It would be hard to find a more idyllic spot. We’re returning home regretful once more that we have to leave. We’ve had a perfect time with lots of rest and relaxation. A huge thank you to Diane for looking after us so well and we hope the charity walk goes well and that we’ll see you next year.

Barbara & Neil, September 2019

Our first holiday with Simpson and although we went to a familiar destination, the entire experience and every detail from booking to arrival and subsequent departure was delightfully smooth. The accommodation was exactly as described and met all expectations; we’d certainly book with Simpson again for the reassurance of our holiday arrangements being in the best hands!

Jamie & Catherine, July 2019

What a very special place – the views across the bay are timeless, the waters – pure. This little cottage is a cosy haven, the loggia shelters you from all the weathers – the ‘blue birds of happiness’ nest above and flit in and out, feeding their young. What bliss! Plus the local tavernas – especially Agni Taverna – offering the equivalent of foods from the gods. So much to enjoy. Thanks to Di for her cheery expertise – the little touches that travelling with Simpson offers. Another superb visit to Corfu, another memorable trip.

Sue, June 2019

We loved the place. It was exactly what we wanted. The accommodation was precious! Although small there was plenty of storage and the décor was lovely.

Carla Thomas, June 2019

Holidaying with Simpson Travel is a rewarding experience. Through every stage, from choosing our destination, booking, travelling, as well as arrival and departure, my husband and I felt well cared for and totally confident that the holiday would live up to our expectations. The information provided is both honest and realistic and the local representatives go out of their way to ensure that the customers are as comfortable as possible.

Mrs B Pearman, September 2018

A most enjoyable holiday in Agni Cottage. Its position, right on the beach at Agni Bay, is perfect if one likes to experience the liveliness of the comings and goings of boats and people arriving at the three tavernas. Early mornings and late evenings the bay returns to being blissfully quiet, and probably reminiscent of how small Greek fishing villages were many years ago.

Verna Newnham, June 2018

We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. We didn't have any problems but we had the security of knowing that the local Simpson Travel staff would help us in any way that they could should we need them.

Mrs Pearman, September 2017

Back again to Corfu (first visit 16 years ago) – an irresistible draw it seems! Agni is pretty special, and has pretty special people too. Such a relaxed atmosphere with a remarkable combo of climate, food, sea and serenity. We have been so well looked after with kindness and consideration. The visit to vibrant, colourful Corfu town is such fun, but the essential return to Agni brings peace to the soul. We may well be back...

Mr Hawes, September 2017

We returned as promised and Agni did not let us down! A better spot you cannot find! Debbie from Simpson Travel was superb and we are so grateful to them for the venue but also for Debbie. We swam, ate and generally faffed about as per usual. Goodbye Agni – perhaps we'll come again in one of those fabulous boats!!

Sharon & Karen, August 2017

We just love this little cottage and its location. Enjoyed our week's stay visiting all our favorite bays along this beautiful coast. We have some wonderful memories and will be back.

The Hansons, July 2017

The perfect location with great service. Simpson Travel always goes the extra mile.

Mrs Teuten, July 2017

What a fantastic experience we had with Simpson Travel from the booking service (I have specific medical issues and this was not a problem to them) to the villa which was breathtaking and right up to arriving home. Faultless. The resort representatives went above and beyond to make our holiday as good as it was. It was perfect. Thank you isn't enough.

Mr Hines, July 2017

The views from the cottage remain unchanged so does the welcome, warmth and friendliness of all those people who work here and call it home. We have been coming to the cottage for over 15 years and it is the location and the people that bring us back so often. A happy two weeks, thankfully we shall see everyone in October.

The Westons, June 2017

Property enhancements

Proximity to beaches, restaurants and shops
