A beach to remember

Overall very good but first little bit about us we love the beach, have no kids and don't need any special activities or requests. The beach is fantastic super clean no seaweed...you can walk for a couple miles in either direction...tons of seating never had to get up early to get chairs....there are a few shelters but tons of shade available...the beachside restaurant and bar is open every day until 2 am - closes from 6 to 10 pm for reserved dinners...has a smaller selection but you can spend the whole day there....there are lots of beach vendors but a quick no they leave you alone but if you engage they will be persistent...in the week we were there they did have people from cruise stop by once but still tons of lounge chairs. The food was overall good nice selection at buffett and clean...service in the buffet is not as good but find someone you like and they will take care of you. The Italian and Mexican a la carte were great with great service. We stayed in the adults section in a king suite was very nice and roomy but small details that i know would bug some people...a couple times lower water pressure and not so hot eater but still overall good...maid service was ok even with nice tips...no issues with noise... Pools were very nice and clean but cold so really did not stay there...the pool... This is a nice resort. They have a large beach area with plenty of seating. The food is good, and the restaurant staff is really good. Not giving it five stars because the room is a tad run down and the drinks a bit lacking.

EMPLOYEE REVIEW - ELVIA Y DOYA (kids club childcare) Elvia y Dora was exceptional. She honestly was the best part of Emotions for our family. She was caring and fun and had endless energy despite the long hours she worked! I would absolutely recommend anyone staying in Emotions with children to trust her with their children. My 8 year old son, 4 year old daughter and even my 18 month old daughter all took to her immediately. I can not say enough wonderful things about this woman. She truly is the star of the resort.

Myself and family went to Emotion for the Christmas season of 2022 and had a wonderful time. Spent 11 days Dec 18th- 28th. I would go back and i strongly recommend this resort in Puerta Plata. The staff is friendly and wonderful. Always a smiling face. Food and house keeping was excellent for a 3rd world country. There are persons worth mentioning, persons like the front desk manager OLANDO "BLUE" RODRIGUEZ was amazing, easy to talk to and always around compared to managers at other resorts. ORLANDO deserves his title as front desk manager. He has a good employee up front there with him. His name is RAILLY a very friendly front desk employee. On arrival the guys in the blue T shirts that meet you at the lobby, ORLANDO is very helpful and speaks good English. From the ala carte they were excellent staff like ALEXANDRA, TATIANNA that my 8 yr grandson wants to marry, Lol. There was the very friendly Romona, Yolanda and July. Very nice guys name VICTOR and JUAN CORANADO also at the ala carte. Very good employees at the buffet is EDUIN and ROSEMERIE, two hard workers. The beach buffet and bar, the beautiful KARLENE was a standout employee. Two other good employees in that location is JOSMIN and CHEMI. The buffet for eggs JUNIOR and RUDDY are 2 happy and helpful employees. At the pool bar you had friendly service from RICARDO, NARCISO and JOSTIN. INES from house cleaning is a very dedicated employee, she did an excellent job cleaning our room 21106. MARIANNY does a wonderful job for kids activities and she is excellent with children. ARIANNI is not a good employee at gift shop. Simply asking her to exchange my free 2 sodas to sprite was a big issue for her. She had given me sprite and Pepsi. ARIANI was rude and arrogant and her 2 female partners I asked to switch the Pepsi to sprite also refused. ARIANI said company policy prevented her from giving 2 sprites. It must be 1 of each, the dumbest response ever. She needs training for that position of dealing with paying guest or removed to a position where she doesn't have to deal with any guest at all. This was on the 26th of December 2022. I went to guest services to complain and the very professional Alba Sanchez went to the gift shop and immediately solved the problem. Cheers to persons like Alba SANCHEZ. Then there is FRANKLIN (BOMBON) in entertainment, he is quite an entertainer and deserves to be there. FRANKLIN loves what he does. Last but not least is JOEL ALAMONTE, always smiling, speaks English perfectly, this guy is the leader of entertainment, A true master at his profession of entertainment at Emotions. Joel is so good that in my opinion, he deserves to move unto something else in management, with proper training he would be an excellent managerial asset to Emotion. More so than what he does now. Emotion is wasting good talent in Joel . FRANKLIN (BOMBON) can then take his spot in announcement. If i were to open a business, its dedicated employees that i named above I would want working for me. I was impressed with their dedication to work and always with a smile, despite their long hard hours of work for small wages and no overtime pay!

Really good coffee from the coffee place, I liked the pineapple in the breakfast, loved having the beach nearby, we spent great moments with Tania from entertainment and all the crew. Great experience for my first time in Dominican Republic.

Winter getaway

I'm considering this Puerto Plata excursion (AI Beach Day at Hotel Emotions Playa Dorada).  It seems expensive to me $136pp & it is 5 hours.  I'm a beach snob, so please don't judge me LOL.  I've never been to DR.  Is this beach as beautiful as, like, St. Thomas?  I like the white sand and clear water.  I've been to San Juan & Jamaica & didn't like those beaches as much. Thanks for any info!  Kris

You will see them leaping about the trees, and they will likely come down for you to hand-feed them. If you encourage them, the squirrel monkeys will climb up on your shoulder.
