Taylor Swift adds more Canadian dates to record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’

By Michael Ranger

Last Updated November 2, 2023 12:05 pm.

Taylor Swift will be making another stop north of the border as she continues her trek across the globe with her record-breaking The Eras Tour .

The pop superstar revealed Thursday that she will be playing three shows in Vancouver in 2024. The shows, presented by Rogers Communications Inc., will see Swift take the stage for three straight nights – Dec. 6, 7 and 8 at B.C. Place.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of bringing Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour to Vancouver, giving fans the experience of a lifetime,” said Terrie Tweddle, Chief Brand and Communications Officer at Rogers.

Rogers proudly presents Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour Are you ready for it, Canada? @taylorswift13 | The Eras Tour is coming to Vancouver for three unforgettable shows at BC Place in December 2024. For ticket information visit: https://t.co/SyaNvIZQZ1 pic.twitter.com/1V3MosPx8G — Rogers (@Rogers) November 2, 2023

The Vancouver shows will come on the heels of six dates in Toronto. The announcement for the new West Coast dates comes almost exactly three months after Swift revealed her initial Canadian shows at Rogers Centre .

The three dates will be the first time Swift plays in Vancouver in nearly a decade. She last hit the stage at B.C. Place during her 1989 World Tour in August 2015.

Verified Fan registration is now open for the newly added Vancouver shows. Fans can register here until Saturday, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m.

Tickets go on sale on Nov. 9 and only fans who received an email confirming access will be able to join the queue. Selected fans will receive a unique access code and link via text message the day prior to to the Verified Fan Onsale.

Others will be waitlisted and could be given access if there is remaining inventory.

Rogers will be offering Canadians access to premium tickets for both the Toronto and Vancouver shows. More details on how fans across Canada can win tickets will be revealed soon.

“Rogers is all about connecting Canadians and bringing them the best content and best experiences, and Taylor is simply the best,” Tweddle said.

Minutes after the announcement of the Toronto shows went live, Ticketmaster reported “heavy traffic” on their Verified Fan webpage, which the platform says is meant as a protective measure against online scalper bots.

The Ticketmaster website crashed under the weight of Swift demand last year. The company cancelled plans for its public sale, citing demand that “could have filled 900 stadiums.” So far, it hasn’t announced any plans for the public sale of her concerts since.

The American singer made headlines earlier this year when there were initially no Canadian shows announced as part of her international Eras Tour dates. The perceived snub even prompted  a personal invitation  from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and saw an MP  file an “official” grievance “ in the House of Commons “on behalf of all Swifties” in the country.

Swift began her Eras tour earlier this year, performing songs from her chart-topping career against the backdrop of an elaborate stage design for each album.

The U.S. leg of the tour kicked off in March and wrapped up in the summer with six sold-out shows in Los Angeles. The  international leg of the tour  began in late August and continues well into next year with stops in Mexico, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

Swift’s reimagined 2014 album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” was released last week . Many consider the original album to be the release that ushered in the first Peak Swift era and began her massive pop culture dominance.

Lana Del Rey performs on "Christmas in Graceland"

The iconic artist's night one headlining set included a guest appearance from Billie Eilish, a hologram of herself and so much more.

Not only did Lana Del Rey start her Coachella headlining set early, but her entry was epic.

On Friday, April 12, at 11:16 p.m. the festival main stage screens showed an aerial view of Del Rey and her entourage rapidly approaching. As she neared, it became clear her crew was not rolling up on the expected golf carts that often shuttle stars around the Indio, Calif. fest, but rather motorcycles. And as a snippet of her never-to-be-officially-released song “Jealous Girl” played – with the lyric “Baby, I’m a gangster too” on loop – Del Rey’s motorcade took a lap through the crowd as she smiled and waved to the thousands of fans gathered for this very moment.

“What’s up, Coachella,” she asked casually, after making her way to center stage and offering a small smile before performing “Without You” into a fusion of Sublime’s “Doin’ Time” with “Summertime Sadness.” “I’m so happy to be here,” she added with another faint, and even briefer, smile. But keep in mind, this is Lana Del Rey – sad girl pop president and eternally committed to the bit, whether she’s headlining Coachella or not.

As such, her demeanor matched the elaborate set design that looked much like a dilapidated version of the Gatsby Mansion long after it had thrown its last party. Making it, of course, the perfect imaginary scene for Del Rey to host a late-night shindig of her own complete with a swing band and roaring 20s-inspired backup dancers.

Early into the set, Del Rey noted that she last played Coachella “exactly 10 years ago to the day” (during which she debuted single “West Coast”), before softly speak-singing, “We’re still doing it.” Yet, it’s not the fact that she is still here a decade in that’s impressive, but more so that she is still entirely and unapologetically herself after so many years – or at least, that the persona of Lana Del Rey is still so intact. In fact, across her nine studio albums, Del Rey has seemingly become even more herself, taking bigger experimental swings and offering longer, more eyebrow-raising track titles along the way.

And tonight, her headlining set seemed to be a quiet celebration of such, during which Del Rey sauntered across the stage performing career-spanning hits that, in a festival setting like Coachella, felt almost like underground gems that she was carefully unearthing. Even the expected “headliner stunts” were delivered with a delicate touch: She performed “Ride” while slowly spinning from within a circular, leaf-covered swing; delivered a gorgeous a cappella rendition of “The Grants” alongside her trio of backup singers; and, most notably of all, sang “Hope Is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have – but I Have It” via hologram accompanied by collaborator and close friend Jack Antonoff on piano, who co-produced the track. (Earlier in the night, she was joined by Jon Batiste on piano for an extended version of “Candy Necklace.”)

The hologram – though a bit morbid, especially considering the lyric, “Hello, it’s the most famous woman you know on the iPad/Calling from beyond the grave” – perfectly punctuated the spirit of the set. As evidenced by her closing song selection of “Young and Beautiful” (which was prominently used in The Great Gatsby ), it became increasingly clear that Del Rey had come to make a statement.

As she sings on “Young and Beautiful: “I’ve seen the world, done it all, had my cake now. I’ve seen the world, lit it up as my stage now.” All the while, the song’s primary question loomed: “Will you still love me when I’m no longer young and beautiful?”

Earlier in the night, Billie Eilish delivered an affirmative answer.

Following online rumors that the superstar would be making a guest appearance during Del Rey’s set (an artist Eilish has long been a fan of), she appeared toward its end atop the arched trellis to duet on “Ocean Eyes” and “Video Games” with Del Rey. After the two were done, they sat a moment longer, seeming genuinely stunned by one another’s presence. “Get the f–k out of my face,” laughed Eilish, speaking to her hero.

“Yep, that’s the voice of your generation, the voice of our generation,” replied Del Rey. “I”m so f—ing grateful she’s standing next to me right now.” To which Eilish replied: “This is the reason for half you b—-es existence, including mine.”

That simple sentence cut to the core of the evening. Sure, the set was spotty at parts – with moments of darkness and silence in between many songs and a handful of issues with mic volume, all of which Del Rey audibly called out. And yes, Del Rey’s soft-spoken tendencies on and off stage may have not made her the most obvious headlining act to kick-off Coachella. But it’s her impact that remains undeniable.

But don’t take my word for it, take it from “the voice of our generation.” The artist who we may not have had it not been for an artist like Lana Del Rey doing what she has and will always do best: being Lana Del Rey .

As she delivered the final note of “Young and Beautiful,” the band picked up steam and her dancers reappeared with champagne bottles in hand as fireworks exploded into the night sky – all the makings of a signature Gatsby blowout. And as Del Rey rode off on motorcycle, just as she came in, the party on stage continued long after she was gone. And that’s the point.

Her undeniable impact is also unforgettable – and exactly what makes Lana Del Rey the icon she is. And one well worth the celebration.

How to watch the 2024 Masters Tournament: Livestream options, full schedule, more

D ay 3 of the 2024 Masters  is here, live from Augusta National Golf Club. Bryson DeChambeau started and finished Day 2 on top of the leaderboard , but 2022 Masters winner Scottie Scheffler  remains close behind -- on par with the level of play he's shown thus far this season.

The Masters Tournament is never predictable. Weather has already made its mark on the 2024 tournament, leaving some players to play over 20 holes on the last day of competition. What is predictable about the Masters is that each day brings surprises and epic play, delivering memorable moments that will be talked about for years to come. On Day 2, golf great Tiger Woods  became the tournament's all-time leader in consecutive cuts, having made the cut 24 consecutive times now. And the tournament is only just halfway through.

Approximately 40,000 people will watch the 2024 Masters live at Augusta, while the rest of us will watch from home (the best view, if we do say so ourselves). Keep reading below for the full Masters schedule , plus how and when to watch even if you don't have cable.

Note: CBS Essentials, CBS and Paramount+ are all subsidiaries of Paramount. CBS is one of the broadcast homes of the 2024 Masters Tournament.

How to watch the 2024 Masters without cable

If your cable subscription doesn't include ESPN and CBS, or you don't have a cable subscription at all, you can live stream Round 1 and Round 2 on ESPN+ and Round 3 and Round 4 on Paramount + with Showtime -- or on one of the live TV streaming platforms featured below.

*Note, you won't be able to stream CBS' 2024 Masters coverage on Paramount + with a Paramount + Essential tier. You'll need to subscribe to the Paramount + with Showtime tier to watch the 2024 Masters live. Both tiers are available for free with a seven-day free trial.

Watch the 2024 Masters free with Fubo

If you're new to streaming sports, you should know about  Fubo . Fubo is a sports-centric streaming service that offers access to every Masters 2024 round airing on network and cable TV, plus your local TV affiliates, hundreds of cable TV channels and 1,000 hours of cloud DVR storage. Another great reason to love Fubo is its lookback feature, which lets you watch sporting events up to 72 hours after they air live.

Start watching PGA golf on Fubo and also get access to network-aired NFL, NBA and MLB games by starting a seven-day free trial of Fubo. You can begin watching immediately on your TV, phone, tablet or computer. After your free trial, Fubo starts at $80 per month for the Pro tier, which includes over 190 channels.

What you'll get with Fubo Pro Tier:

  • There are no contracts with Fubo -- you can cancel at any time.
  • The Pro tier includes 195 channels, so there's something for everyone to watch.
  • Fubo includes most of the channels you'll need to watch college and pro sports, including CBS.
  • In addition to PGA golf, Fubo offers NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS and international soccer games.
  • You can watch Fubo on up to 10 screens at once.
  • Stream on your TV, phone and mobile devices.

Save $40 on Sling TV: Stream Masters 2024 Round 1 and Round 2

If you don't have cable TV that includes ESPN, one of the most cost-effective ways to stream Round 1 and Round 2 of the 2024 Masters is through a  subscription to Sling TV .  To watch ESPN-aired Masters rounds, you'll need a subscription to the Orange tier. The streamer also offers access to your local network affiliate's live feed (excluding CBS) and also includes the NFL Network and ESPN with its Orange + Blue tier plan. Also worth noting: Sling TV comes with 50 hours of cloud-based DVR recording space included, perfect for recording today's championship game.

The Orange tier is normally $40 per month, but right now Sling TV has an offer for new subscribers. You can save $40 when you prepay $120 for four months of the Sling TV Orange tier. The Sling's Orange + Blue tier costs $60 per month. Sling TV is also offering 50% off the first month of any subscription tier. Offers may vary.

Note: Because Sling TV doesn't carry CBS, you won't be able to watch CBS-aired programming like Round 3 and Round 4 of this year's Masters Tournament and next year's NFL games on CBS. If you're looking for one live TV streaming platform to watch all your favorite sports, we suggest a subscription to  Hulu + Live TV.

Top features of Sling TV Orange tier:

  • There are 32 channels to watch in total, including ESPN, TNT and TBS.
  • You get access to most local NFL games and nationally broadcast games next season at the lowest price.
  • All subscription tiers include 50 hours of cloud-based DVR storage.

Masters 2024 Round 1 and Round 2: ESPN+

ESPN+ is ESPN's subscription streaming platform, which offers exclusive live events, original studio shows and top-tier series that aren't accessible on the ESPN networks. Here's a sampling of what's available on ESPN+ :

  • Exclusive fantasy sports tools and content from some of the sports world's most respected voices in sports.
  • Every Fight Night UFC event UFC PPV event (PPV events are subject to an additional charge).
  • Soccer including EFL Championship, US Open Cup and Bundesliga.
  • College sports  including the Ivy League, Big Sky Conference and Atlantic A10 Conference.

What you need to know about a Paramount+ with Showtime subscription:

  • Paramount+ with Showtime includes everything in the Paramount+ Essential tier, plus added benefits.
  • You'll see no ads, except those that appear in live CBS-aired programming (such as  the 2024 Super Bowl ).

Paramount+ content, including the 2024 Masters Round 3 and Round 4, is available to stream on  Amazon Prime  via a Paramount+ on Prime Video add-on subscription. Prime Video also carries some of the best sports documentaries, including "Kelce," which chronicles former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce's last season in the league.

Amazon is offering a seven-day free trial of  Paramount+ with Showtime . Tap the button below to start your trial and start streaming now for free. After the free trial period ends, a subscription to the Paramount+ with Showtime tier is $11.99 per month.

Watch Masters 2024 Round 3 and Round 4 with a digital HDTV antenna

You can also watch network-aired Masters rounds on TV with an affordable indoor antenna, which pulls in local over-the-air HDTV channels such as CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, PBS, Univision and more. Here's the kicker: There's no monthly charge.

For anyone living in a partially blocked-off area (those near mountains or first-floor apartments), a  digital TV antenna  may not pick up a good signal -- or any signal at all. But for many homes, a digital TV antenna provides a seriously inexpensive way to watch PGA golf without paying a cable company. Indoor TV antennas can also provide some much-needed TV backup if a storm knocks out your cable.

This amplified digital antenna with a 50-mile range can receive hundreds of HDTV channels, including ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, Fox and Univision and can filter out cellular and FM signals. It delivers a high-quality picture in 1080p HDTV and top-tier sound.
